20 Best Chrome Wheel Cleaner (2022 Updated)

Used this for the first time and was blown away! Took off grime that I never imagined would come off. Took two sprays, but wheels were black from the heavy use and EBC brake pads. Best Ive ever tried!

Works excellent on caked greasy rims that don’t get cleaned often. Wish it came in a foam version. If you don’t have a high pressure nozzle for your hose. after washing off rims u may need to use a two sided sponge to get anything left behind which is practically nothing.

then rinse again. Perfect.

I have wire wheels and every fifth cleaning or so I use this product and rinse with distilled water and use compressed air to dry it off. Has a mirror clean finish.

This product is amazing. I think everyone that wants to have clean wheels should just get this. It is not really a “spray, wait and rinse” for really stuck on grime but, for just dirt and dust it is.

Like any other cleaner for thick grime you have to spray, wait a minute or so and then scrub like you would with anything else that needs a good deep clean. However it will go to work for you and help break down the grime and help you make your wheels look great again.

The handle is easy to use and it’s easy to spray and doesn’t hurt your hand. It didn’t cause any damage to my wheels or cause any discoloration or any issues. I will definitely keep this as one of my favorite car products.

I got this to trying to improve the appearance of a old set of mags after I had purchased new tires. All I can say is OMG. This stuff is awesome. Those wheels were not that clean when I got the car. My impression was that the major culprit was brake dust.

After a good washing, it was revealed that I also had some corrosion issues which surprised me since I thought they were aluminum wheels. This product is for alloys. Spray this on , wipe and brush a little then rinse.

As I said the results are simply amazing. I would love to post some pics but I didn’t think to take any “before “ shots. This stuff works!.

Bought extra wheels for my Grand Cherokee. 10 years of Extreme grime on inside of wheels! Prayed and let sit for 15 minutes, so bad used a used a scrub sponge but it took it off to original finish! Outside used soft sponge and took that off easily! Wont have to do it again as yearly clean and light amout should do the job from now on.

Other cleaners didnt touch the inside grime! Very Happy.

been using this on my BMW as it does a much more thorough job that genuine BMW product. can leave on whilst washing the rest of the car, though i always agitate with a wheel rim brush before rinsing for maximum effect.

I was amazed this product does what it claims. I just sprayed it on waited 10 minutes then hosed it off!! not one bit of scrubbing! Easy!!Brilliant!

Best wheel cleaner on the market. I have tried at least 12 other products. This is the only one that changes color to show you that it’s working, and the only one that is gentle on my white powder coated wheels.

I daily drive an R53 MINI Cooper year-round. It also works on most brands brake pad’s dust from Hawk, Carbotech, EBC, and others. With these street performance and AutoX pads, it does require scrubbing.

One pass of all four wheels takes me about 15 minutes using a wheel brush to get behind the spokes, and the four finger mitts to get the curb appeal side.

This does not turn a deep purple color like most of these wheel cleaners do. It lightly turns purple, even on super dirty rims, but that’s about it. Aside from the color factor, as long as you let this product sit for 4 minutes then agitate it with a cleaning brush then you will be good to go.

But you must wait at least 3-4 minutes before scrubbing, otherwise it won’t clean properly. I learned this from trial and error. Patience is key with this product.

I hate to use superlatives in describing a Griots product since they usually put a lot of them in their product descriptions, but I have to make an exception in this case. I struggled to clean the white painted wheels on my smart Fortwo.

Soap & water, spray cleaner, hand scrubbing, nothing really touched the dirt. But by golly this stuff works just as advertised. Spray it on, wait, spray it off. I’d say 95% of the dirt just washed away, the remaining 5% came off when you rubbed it by hand or a rag.

I also used a bristle brush with long brushes, but I just used it for a swipe or two. So this is one Griots product that really lives up to their hype.

I just used Sonax for the first time. I had been a P21s user for years and wasn’t crazy about P21s. I have to say that I am glad I made the switch to Sonax. It got out some of the really tough metallic bits that get stuck on the wheels that P21s wouldn’t clean.

I used the uber boar’s hair brush and the Swissvax wheel brush, both of which I think are necessities especially if the wheels are more intricate. The only negative things I can say are that Sonax isn’t the best smelling stuff.

I’ve used quite a few wheel cleaners over the years on five new Bimmers I’ve been fortunate to own and I must say that my 2017 really likes being cleaned with this stuff. It’s quick, effective and who wouldn’t love to see the a color change which means “I’m working”.

A must buy.

I’m like trusting other people reviews and I had done enough researches about this product after finding too many good reviews about it. It worked pretty well on chrome and aluminum rims. It foaming and clean everything in 15 seconds only!!!! Strong advice: Do not let it dry out on the rims.

Do one in time.

I definitely highly recommend this product for cleaning any type of chrome rims. I don’t know how I miss this or even how I clean my rims this product. Spray this on your rims and wipe and literally all the film and dirt comes right off and any water marks will be removed.

Definitely buy more of this!.

I both liked and disliked that it works fast. Also the spray was more of a squirt than a spray, but then a misty spray can get air-born away from the target, and a squirt can splash, so it’s best to use outdoors with no wind.

As the label says, you can immediately see the dirt run, but my mistake was to spray the entire tire all at once, causing it to dry before I could wipe off all the dirt it loosened up. Also, it would work best for me when I have the tires removed from the vehicle, like when rotating the tires.

There are so many places on a wheel rim that are too reach and wipe the dissolved dirt, oil, and grease clean while the wheel is physically on the vehicle. Later this month, I plan to work on my brakes.

At that time, I will set each wheel aside (where it later be rinsed) as I work on each brake. Then I can spray the tire and rinse it first, then spray and wipe the rim in segments, and then finally thoroughly rinse the entire wheel before reinstalling it on my vehicle.

Make sure to do the cleaning outside so the cleaning solution, dissolved dirt, oil, and grease can be easily flushed off the wheel with a hose. The results look great. Just remember to read the label on the back of the bottle to make sure it is safe to use on your wheel rim’s material.

First time user of Meguiar’s G-9524 Wheel Cleaner on 2015 Ford F150 Chrome Wheels, never cleaned before. My prior attempts to remove baked on brake dust with a pressure washer failed with grime completely unphased.

A few observations: * Will foam up when sprayed on wheel * Easily removes debris from wheels with kitchen sponge or old tooth brush, then rinse with hose. * No need for multiple wash & rinse. Wheel was like new on first try.

* No concerns found from harsh chemicals on skin or breathing vapors, no odor * To spray & rinse alone will not remove baked on brake dust to full brightness. Surface must be brushed or wiped with kitchen sponge or old tooth brush to work.

Unwiped areas will remain dirty. * Instructions say to spray on and rinse off within 30 seconds. I did not observe any short or long term problem if left a bit longer. However, rinse thoroughly with a garden hose when done.

* Impressed enough to use on wife & sons car and used about half bottle.

I became dissatisfied with my go to tire cleaner and decided to test some others that I had around. I did 4 tires with 4 products and this one was the winner. Armorall Extreme was a close second. It took the brown off the applied tire and then took the brown off a second tire a more expensive product didn’t.

I even applied another product after the Meguiars and nothing else was removed. I can’t wait to try on wheels.

This stuff is AMAZING ! This stuff really works. I followed the directions and now my rims look brand new. Use rubber gloves and wash one tire at a time , don’t let the stuff dry on your rims.

Normal price better that the auto stores. Wet tire, spray on, a little scrub and rinse. Viola, clean tires and wheels. Can’t let it sit on too long according to bottle.

Never again would I purchase this particular Meguiar’s product as it does not remove the brake dust or clean the rims.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe wheels on my 2002 Odyssey had literally never been cleaned. So 18 years of driving and 250,000 miles later, the brake dust was so caked on that other wheel cleaners wouldn’t even make the slightest difference.

I mixed wheel brightener 1:3 with water, and went to town. See the photos for results, after about 10 minutes per wheel. Keep in mind this stuff is INCREDIBLY strong, so do NOT use this for your regular cleaning, or for even normally dirty wheels.

The smell alone, even when diluted, hits you in the back of the throat and makes you cough. It is acidic after all so be careful. I have never needed to use it on a customers car, P&S brake buster diluted works wonders for 99% of details, and it’s safe.

But this wheel Brighter is great to have in your backup arsenal, as long as you know when to use it. P. S. My wheels were super damaged and need to be refinished.

I have been using another well known wheel product for many years now and have always said great things about it. But changing to a euro car recently I found that as soon as I did the 10 minute clean on each wheel as per directions, I would drive 50m down the road and my gloss black rims were covered in brake surface rust again.

So, i didnt think it would change anything by changing cleaners. But WOW. This stuff was excellent. I dont know what it is but i havent seen as much of that purple iron run off since the early days of using the other product.

My wheels are super clean and have managed to stay that way for some reason. Only downside is that I gave it a bit of a shake before using and the thing popped the lid and sprayed with that nasty smelling liquid.

Just dont shake it.

Excellent product which does exactly what it says and I didn’t even use a brush so as to see how it performed. Very satisfied with the product and have no hesitation in recommending. Used on my new car as well as my son’s car rims which had not been done for years and the end result was impressive I must say.

Amazing wheel cleaner spray. Goes purple when in contact with water. Foams up easily and brakes down dirt and brake dust. Washes off to leave the perfect shine

This stuff is designed for RAW aluminum parts only: do NOT use it on any painted/clear coated parts, and it will quickly remove the shine from polished aluminum. I use it for bleaching/cleaning aluminum castings like valve covers or intake manifolds and it works great for that.

I have used this for many years and it woks great for removing brake dust and general wheel grime.!

Bottles were not packaged well. Some of the fluid leaked in the box.

This stuff is Amazing, spray on, hose off then towel dry. So easy and Awesome results, so much easier and quicker than hand polishing. I’ll be getting more of this.

All I can say is “Wow”, I used it on my motorcycle rims and they came up as clean as…

I purchased this product to “polish” the plastic chrome on the grill of my Chevy truck. For my intended use, the product worked perfectly. The product removed contaminants and water spots very well on the chrome trim and left the trim looking bright and clean.

I then tested the product on some carbon build-up on my chrome exhaust but had no luck. On tougher jobs on metal, a dedicated chrome polish is definitely more effective. However, I found this product very effective and gentle on my plastic chrome trim.

Overall, I am very happy with the product for my intended use.

This is a must have product for those of you with lots of chrome trim. It shines up chrome bumpers and trim and takes no effort. I didn’t have the highest hopes however, I was pleasantly suprised.

There are alloy rims on our 3rd extra vehicle, which is a 2004 Honda CR-V, which is the first time I have had these rims. I did not realize that they needed special cleaning until I had trouble cleaning off the dark stains at the center of the wheels.

I don’t know if the stains were specifically “brake dust” but they were greasy in texture. I have tried several other brands of wheel cleaners, scrubbing with dish soap and used the pressure washer in all of my attempts, but none were successful.

I was really impressed with the results I was able to achieve, without much scrubbing at all when I used TriNova Wheel Cleaner. I was able to remove so many years of this build up pretty easily. I just sprayed the cleaner and let it sit for a while, not in the sun, and then scrubbed it off.

I like that the bottle comes with a regular lid and also a spray nozzle. It also has a rain-x type ingredient that protects the wheels afterwards, so you won’t need to clean them as frequently after you use this acid free product.

I was also able to easily clean up the wheels on our 2011 Toyota Tacoma, 2008 Jeep Wrangler and get our boat trailer wheels in great shape. I definitely recommend this product to anyone who wants to be able to easily and effectively clean their wheels, anyone who likes products made in the USA, or anyone who likes having a car that looks brand new.

This Trinova wheel cleaner product was really good on my wheels but it did not make them clean right away. It took about two uses before I saw a difference in the wheels. I used as directed and it did take away dirt and grime from my wheels.

Seems to work better the more often you use this product. I would definitely recommend to anyone that is looking to improve their wheel quality and cleanness. It requires a bit of cleaning detail in order to get your wheels super clean.

It takes some time so I would recommend to do use this product when you have plenty of time. I would also suggest to do one wheel at a time to get them looking super good. I will definitely keep using this product on my vehicle and purchase in the future.

After seeing all the JLG products recently at an event at the Petersen Museum, I decided to give them a shot as I depleted my stuff from the other guys. I picked up some 300ZX wheels the weekend before this arrived.

Lots of caked on brake dust in the slots and the insides were really yucky. I sprayed the **** out of them, let them sit a couple minutes till I saw some nice purple streaks, then took a brush to them.

I then repeated this. Huge difference afterward. This knocked off the old brake dust quite well. I didn’t expect it to work miracles on 32 year old wheels but it did what I wanted it to. It would’ve been even better if I had a better brush to really get in the corners of the directional slots on the wheels.

The next test was washing my car and used it on my nice wheels and of course it did the job nicely.

This is THE BEST wheel/rim cleaner you can buy!! I purchased an old car that had been sitting for years. The rims were corroded with black brake dust. I tried numerous types of cleaners to no avail. I used this one time and 80% came off!!! It’s amazing!! Just try it, you will be amazed too!! Also, I used a couple drill scrubbing attachments that helped a lot with this cleaner.

I bought both items at the same time and have used em each once. I’ve gotta say they are some of the best products I’ve used. Really good price for really good quality products. I will 100% be buying them again and also will be trying out some other products as well!.

This stuff will clean your wheels of brake dust. It is not acidic. You spray it on and it turns red after a few moments grabbing the brake dust. You can then rinse it away. Great. It will not however really clean your wheels of other residue, that’s not what it does, but once the brake dust is gone, which is usually about 90% of the grime anyhow, washing and wiping down the remaining grime is pretty easy.

I live in Wisconsin where winters are tough on our vehicles. I was looking for a good product to clean wheels of the brake grime and winter stains I used to use Duragloss wheel cleaner but having problems finding it.

So i thought i would give this a try. Did not work near as well even after 3 consecutive cleanings of wheel. For the price not worth it.

The product is great in removing all undesired contaminate from any wheel. Hard to find a good item like this one.
