20 Best Eco Friendly Paper Towels (2022 Updated)

Papers can be used again for many things. I always have a roll in every room in the home. Always fresh smelling. Our family is the reason I get these papers rolls. We feel clean and know mess left.

This is awesome. Its a paper towel that you can use as a towel. I use like I would use a normal dish towel, wiping off countertops. I rinse it out let it dry and its ready to use again. After about 5 days I throw it out and use another.

I recently started using these reusable paper towels and I absolutely love them! They hold up very well and are definitely worth the price. I find I’m using these more often than traditional one-use paper towels.

Hard to clean unless the towel has only been exposed to liquids. If cat hair, food particles, etc get stuck in the fibers, you have to manually pluck it out as it won’t wash out. Great for the Swiffer but only as single-use because you can’t wash the crud out that gets stuck in those darned fibers.

Not worth the hassle. If you use it as a body cloth it works fine but then why? I already have lots of very washable and durable cotton washcloths. Not worth it for me.

These towels are amazing. My wife recently ordered a roll just to see how well we would like using it and to see how well it stands up to daily use. We were amazed. We are able to use one sheet seveal times; and unless we use it for something really messy it is used again and again.

It really saves on cost. We have gone through two rolls of paper towels and were are still leas than half way through this roll. Well worth the coat. I use it to clean the grill; which I could go through a half a roll of paper towel each time I clean the grill.

Now, one sheet does the trick.

These are a great alternative to paper towels. They last a while and are quite absorbent. I find they can easily be cut in half as the sheets are pretty big, and I usually wash and reuse them 2-3 times before tossing.

They do shrink quite a bit when washed, and collect a lot of lint but overall not a big deal for an eco- friendly and frugal alternative to paper towels.

I have two dispensers – one in the garage and one in my work shop/shed. I have used this paper for over 5 years now. I return to get the same Georgia Pacific Paper Towel Rolls each time because it is tougha nd it works well.

It holds together when wet. It absorbs a lot of liquid. It is strong and holds together well. The only place I have seen it rip is when I scrub concrete sidewalks (picking up dog poop). I have since gotten dispensers, and this paper towel roll, for gifts for friends and they all say “I should have gotten one of these sooner.

I bought this to use with the GP Marathon Manual Towel Dispenser Handsfree, where you pull on the actual towel and it cuts after 1 foot is pulled out. I was hoping to reload it less often, as the recommended rolls are only 350 ft, although it clearly had a lot of extra room for larger rolls.

I figured I give these a shot, at 800 ft, I’d have to reload them half the time, and they were the same price as 2 of the 350 ft rolls, seemingly an extra 100 ft free. This roll fits the disepenser fine, but it is a little tight while you try to load it, no big deal.

However, the paper is significantly thinner then the GP Marathon Hardwound Rolls, significantly harder, and less absorbant. With the original rolls, you can carefully pull a sheet out with one hand, or easily pull it out with two hands.

With these, if you try with one hand, it will rip and not dispense. with 2 hands, you need to be careful to get it to work. The thinner paper towels also seem to be causing people to use more, making the trash need to be changed more often.

The aforementioned extra 100 ft free isn’t helping because people are using that extra 100 ft because the towels are so much thinner. Now to decide if I can find a better larger roll or go back to the smaller but better quality 350 ft Marathon rolls.

Bought these during the pandemic since regular paper towel was scarce. Unlike a normal roll of household towel, these rolls allow you to truly select a size and cut down on waste. There is no perforation, so you have to keep that in mind.

There is not much grit for getting dried or textured messes cleaned up, but for your everyday wipe down of relatively smooth surfaces, these do the trick. I have had one out on the counter for cleaning, and I am just now starting to notice that the roll is smaller.

That was a few weeks ago. It says these rolls are 800 feet. I don’t know how true that is, but it feels like it is accurate.

I received my order in a timely fashion and immediately started using the paper towels. I love them. I have found that when they get dirty I can even throw them in the washing machine on delicate and then dry them on a coat hanger or a drying rack.

They dry quickly. They’ve cut my use of regular paper towels at least in half, maybe more.

The paper towel we got is very much like cloth rather than paper. It is hard to break into pieces as napkins for dinner, but excellent for absorbing and cleaning! One roll lasts a long time. Just wish it were more like paper than cloth.

This year has been a crazy year for our world. It’s wild going to the store and finding it hard to buy stuff that you’re just used to seeing. Anyway, I saw where people were panic buying again when it concerns toilet paper and I was worried that I’d go to Walmart and wouldn’t be able to find the toilet paper brand we use.

I saw that this was a toilet paper I could get delivered to the house and chose to buy it. Only way I’d get this toilet paper again is if it was literally the only brand in the store. Something is better than nothing.

I thought the condition of the toilet paper was fine. I see people complaining about the thinness of the toilet paper. My problem is that it’s hard to flush. I’m not somebody that sits there and uses half the roll in one sitting and then flushes the whole load at once.

It has difficulty going down even if there’s barely any toilet paper in the toilet. I’d have to flush at least 3 times certain times to get it down and sometimes have to use the toilet plunger. So yeah.

I wouldn’t turn my nose up if it’s the only thing that you can buy but I wouldn’t recommend this toilet paper if you have a choice between other TP brands.

I don’t know what the company’s reasoning for the drop in quality is, but I’m not buying 7th generation toilet paper anymore. It used to be a brand I trusted for it’s balance of eco- consciousness and quality.

The 2-ply separates if you breathe on it wrong I swear, and it’s just trial and error to get the ends correct so it can unroll properly during use. I asked my adult son if he brought in some other cheap brand and put it on my toilet paper roller.

He said No, I thought you did. like from the dollar store? So that makes 2 more folks complaining in the reviews about the disappointing change.

For a couple of years now, Ive been getting regular shipments of a brand of recycled toilet paper where each roll is individually wrapped in a colorful designed wrapper, each with something clever to say about toilets and toilet paper.

However, recently with an increase in our household and at our business, 48 rolls have not been enough! I questioned whether this brand would be as good, since it is two-ply, but it actually is almost the same as our 3 ply.

I really appreciate being able to purchase this recycled paper. And, Im happy to have found a second source for a good product.

TP is thin but functional (probably use more than I would with sturdier paper). Most annoying feature is that it’s hard to start a new roll — paper sticks to itself & usually lose a few sheets starting a roll.

BUT this is a minor annoyance for saving old growth forests, which I can’t justify to myself. I’ve used this for several years now and gotten used to its problems. It works well enough.

It’s a no from me. During the pandemic when absolutely nobody had toilet paper I found on [brand:grove-collaborative]. It was recycled toilet paper which didn’t bother me, although it was much more expensive than any other TP I’ve used it was slim pickings.

The 1 ply is REAL. Let’s be honest, 1 ply can’t get anything clean. It’s equivalent to using a sheet of tissue paper, but scratchier. Think sandpaper. My butt winced every time I had to wipe. Call me snobby but this is a 3 ply household.

It really workedin my kitchen. My dishes tends to get Greasy, messy and dirty. so I tried this and this had given an awesome result by removing all the greasiness and toughest stains too. It is made up of natural ingredients and is fragrance free.

Before using this I was like does it work well and guess what it really worked well and removed the strongest stains on my head whites and other clothes. The packaging is so cute and is recyclable. it is not tested on animals.

You don’t need enough to do the dishes just adding another of water will give you enough to do many dishes at a time. It is delicate to your skin leaving no harshness. I don’t have any allergies, still it won’t let you any allergies because it is made up of natural ingredients.

i would be comfortable with the fragrance version too. The detergent was natural and chemical free. I will highly recommend this. Opinions are 100% my own. “.

These paper towels are quite dense and good quality. I usually go through rolls quickly but this product lasts a while. The rolls are packed densely. I also found that each sheet can be used for several cleanups depending on the amount of liquid.

They are super easy to tear off the roll and you can use a half or whole sheet. I think this product is definitely a good value.

I have just received the paper towels and have only accomplished a comparison of their absorbency. They were comparably the same as the towel we presently use. Looking forward to seeing how they stack up to our present towels.

I am hoping they are going to be cost effective. They may help the environment but if I can’t afford them they won’t be helping anything or anyone.

I purchased the towels as they serve to help our environment, even tho they cost twice as much as the Costco towels. They absorb nicely, but the single sheet is too small – 2 inches smaller, so I use two sheets, not so good! Still on first roll, but not sure if I will buy these again.

I can’t believe how impossible it is to find paper towels wrapped in paper instead of plastic! Whether you are using a % of post-consumer recycled plastic – plastic is plastic! It’s harmful to produce, harmful to recycle, harmful to have in our homes, and harmful to dispose of it in the Earth.

The limited amount of grocery stores that did offer plastic bag “recycling” have done away with it. And China isn’t taking our trash/recycling anymore (we share the same planet so that wasn’t a solution anyway).

There are many options out there for creating compostable plant-based “plastics” now and your company has the money to invest in improving these options and blazing a new trail. Nobody needs paper towels in a pack to be individually wrapped in more plastic.

And modern, busy folks aren’t going to save their plastic wrappings to deliver them to a recycling center. People aren’t going to do away with our modern conveniences – companies need to step up their packing and find more eco-friendly solutions to reduce the single-use plastics that are destroying the planet.

C’mon 7th Generation. you can do way better. time to evolve!.

I had to special order these through Walgreen’s, as I couldn’t find them in stores. The idea of unbleached paper towels with recycled consumer fiber was immensely appealing to me. But fantasy and reality are often very different animals.

As they are in this case. The towels, though 2-ply, are quite weak and far less absorbent than the leading, and more accessible, bleached brands. As a result, I found myself using twice as many, and sometimes more, to achieve equatable results.

And finally, when tearing them off the roll, you have to take extra care or they will rip where they were not intended to rip. I made the mistake of buying the six pack, and I cannot express how happy I will be to see the last of them come off my paper towel rack.

A wonderful idea poorly realized. Very disappointed.

Seventh Generation is strong and absorbent and Seventh Generation recycled paper towels are tough on messes and easy on our world that’s is what I like about this most. However, as absorbent as these are, they are so thin that they fall apart when wet.

I don’t want to use Bounty, but one sheet can be used several times when cleaning: rinse, squeeze out, reuse. If these paper towels were thicker I would buy them, even if they were more expensive.

I’ve been using for several years now. I love this hairspray!! Living in an extremely humid state, I find that this hairspray performs VERY well, not to mention it smells nice. Literally it can have 100% humidity outside one day the very next day the humidity will drop to 45%.

This hairspray holds up nicely does not leave any white residue in your hair, as I have found a few hairspray that do. Aussie does not leave your hair with a wet, matted down look, unless you are trying to achieve that look.

I also use love , which I use mainly after I curl my hair, it holds my curl’s in tact, without a crunchy feel. If you haven’t tried Aussie hairspray, I highly recommend you to do so!!.

I love this hairspray! It keeps my hair in place but still flexible. This hairspray also smells amazing! I like this for days I just want a casual style that still looks in place and tamed. This is my go to hairspray that I buy the most often.

In theory I would love this product for being affordable and recycled. Don’t get me wrong, I’m grateful to find ANY paper towels in stock right now. That said, these have been disappointing. They don’t absorb messes and just smear liquid around, but the fibers seem to wick away cleaning sprays too quickly to actually saturate and scrub a surface.

I have to use way more of these unbleached paper towels compared to Viva, Bounty, Target’s store brand, or even the “regular” Seventh Generation ones, so it feels wasteful. They remind me of the cheap paper towels you see in gas station bathrooms, unfortunately.

I applaud Seventh Generation for their efforts in sustainability, but these could use improvement.

I honestly wanted to like these since they are unbleached, but they are awful quality compared to our grocery store brand. These feel like I’m using a brown paper napkin that I got at a fast food joint, maybe worse.

they are very thin, rigid, and leave paper particles everywhere. Disappointed with Seventh Generation because they usually have better quality than this. Is it that hard to just make a good paper towel and just not bleach the paper?.

I bought these paper towels because they are unbleached and I use them to absorb extra moisture in bags of carrots and tubs of salad. Since they are more natural than regular towels, I feel OK about using them in this way.

However, to use them to clean up spills, they fall far short. They are not absorbent at all and fall apart easily. They are stiff and not useful at all for cleaning purposes.

I foster dogs so I go through a lot of paper towels. This was the best purchase of paper towels I have ever made! Great thick quality! Absorbent for all those little messes and big accidents. Will definitely order again when I need more.

I normally go though a roll or more a week. I bought this and it’s 3 weeks in and I haven’t gone through half a roll yet.

My mom made me start buying these ever since the pandemic hit because she says its less germy. So I started buying them and I actually love them. It’s so much nicer using a fresh towel rather than using some old towel that multiple people have wiped their hands on.

I love how absorbent they are as well. I keep them in my bathrooms and in the kitchen! Truly a great buy!.

I have been looking for guest quality “cloth-like” disposable paper towels that were not so inordinately expensive that one was reluctant to actually use them. These are reasonably priced. The box is designed to slip between the top of a towel rack and the wall behind it for easy storage and access with limited intrusion into your decor.

I think this design functions as intended. I do wish that the boxes came in more neutral colors, besides just black and gold (and not greenish-greige), with a more presentable (perhaps a matte or velvety) finish.

The variety pack of colors is not my favorite either. Again, some included colors are incompatible with most decors.

I’m not, nor have I ever been, a fan of paper towels. I did not grow up using them and consider them extremely wasteful though I know there are times that call for them. These tree free reusable towels are an answer for me.

Surprised by how long they lost and how well they hold up. They also dry once hung up in 10 minutes. That is amazing. I use these wet and they are great for drying. Typically 1 sheet is lasting me no less than a week.

Unlike some people say this product is very durable. I was surprised how this never ripped. I was using it for cleaning the countertops and grill so it got dirty but I just cleaned it with dish soap and came back like brand new.

Soaks up spills including oil. I can remove most of the fat on fried food with it. Useful for covering food in the microwave.

Not as good as my old brand of kitchen roll in relation to absorbing but to be honest it does the job so im happy out.

The paper is as advertised, no surprises there. But BEWARE, Walmart recommends this paper to go with the Georgia Pacific automated paper towel dispenser. But this paper DOES NOT WORK with that dispenser.

The GP machine requires rolls with inserts used to secure the roll in the dispenser. These BOARDWALK 16GREEN rolls do not have the inserts. Because I took Walmart’s recommendation, I’m now stuck with 6 rolls I can’t use in my dispenser.

If you’re not using them in a dispenser then they’ll work great. But if you plan to put these big rolls into a paper towel dispenser, just make sure that your dispenser doesn’t require the roller inserts.

These paper towels are ok, but I wish that they were thicker. The paper is pretty thin, and it takes significantly more to dry my hands than the thicker towels. The thicker ones are more expensive though, and I haven’t taken the time to analyze which is more cost effective.

These used to work well in a marathon manual dispenser. No longer do they work well as too thin now. Getting a automatic dispenser instead see how well they work in there for the rest I have, definitely will not buy these again once gone.
