20 Best Gloves For Hunting (2022 Updated)

I used these gloves on a recent early season archery hunt for elk. They worked perfectly to keep my hands warm as I glassed for elk early in the day. While the XL fit me fine, I was surprised to find the fit was a bit different between gloves sporting the Optifade Subalpine fabric verse those with Optifade Open Country.

I tired on several pair of both camo pattern at the Sitka store in Bozeman to confirm there wasn’t a problem with one pair. nope, the gloves with Optifade Subalpine were slightly smaller. While all my other Sitka gear is Optifade Subalpine, I am not the owner of a pair of these gloves in Open Country.

I guess that would be considered a fasion faux pas anywhere else besides elk camp!.

Do you have abnormally long fingers? No need to worry with this glove. I ended up sizing down to a medium which fits snug and the fingers are only slightly longer. Forget the sizing guides and what you wear from other manufacturers and try these on first.

Now for the good. You can move in these. I mean easy and precise finger movement. Not waterproof, but i ran them under a faucet and dunked in a bucket. I’m guessing it’s the seams but it took a lot before my hands got wet.

It’s winter so I’m trying to see how they do in the cold. They aren’t a thick, heavy, insulated glove so keeping expectations in check.

This glove provides ample dexterity while surprisingly offering a decent amount of warmth. I’ve worn these gloves on all my sits starting October 1st and I am pleasantly surprised by the comfort and warmth they provide.

However they do not pair as well as I had hoped they would with the Stormfront glove. It is far too tight of a fit (I ordered both as Large). Additionally, they don’t have much durability. I wasn’t expecting too much durability, but I imagine I’m only going to get one more season out of them.

All in all, a good glove for the price, just wish they worked better with the Stormfront glove and were just a tad more durable.

These are basically worthless. They may be waterproof but they do not breathe at all. SO if you exert yourself at all they become soaking wet inside and they stay that way. Gore Tex similar products would at least breathe a little and would eventually dry out.

These gloves do not dry out. I suppose one could use a boot dryer to remove the internal moisture.

I’m 60 bought many gloves in my life. $15-$20 up to $60. These are as good or better then best I’ve used. Light weight, warm, and I held them under water in sink since I haven’t been around water yet.

Plan to use them Ice fishing and Everything else. 2 pair for $12. Don’t know where you could find that price anywhere but here. thinking of buying 2 more as there on sale and I can keep them for the future.

I imagine water proof may wear out in a couple years. But can afford to buy a pair that often. may be better gloves out there But I wouldn’t spend $100 or more on them. outdoors northern WI. and Mn. If somethings wrong send em back.

Lemon comes out once in awhile. I always wear XL and these XL fit perfectly.

I always need a spare pair of gloves, so when I saw these figured for the price I couldn’t go wrong. I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only are they a great price, they are great gloves. Warm, comfortable and well made.

Depending on what you’re planning to do in them they might be a little bulky. I used them bow hunting last weekend and they were fine. I could handle my release and despite 26F temps and spitting down sleet, my hands were dry & warm.

I had no trouble manipulating my release. For gun hunting I might have a little trouble with clearance in my trigger guard, but time will tell. One pair for this price would be great, but you get 2 pairs for under $12! Try to beat that.

I bought 4 pairs for my son and I. as I said you can always use a spare pair in your pack. One note: I’m 5’10” and 190lbs with average size hands and a large is a perfect fit. If you have larger hands you may want to get the larger size.

I bought these for ranch work, specifically for feeding and watering livestock. They really are waterproof and warm, unlike the other black and yellow gloves that I had purchased in store which made the same claims.

My hands were literally freezing in those other gloves, but in these they’re warm and toasty and dry. I’m not a huge camo fan, but these are (sorry, guys) really cute!.

Nice gloves, good camo pattern, fairly warm. I used these when the temp was in the high 20’s and my hands were warm most of the time.

Nice gloves seem to be good quality. And they are actually microfiber unlike the bibs.

I bought these gloves a couple years ago. They wore hole in the fingers after the first hunt year. made it through archery elk, deer rifle, and a turkey season. my pair lasted slightly longer than my husbands but not by much.

They make a good light glove but wear holes quick. not worth what you pay for them if they cant make it 3 months of use.

They’re comfortable and the quality seems okay, they’re an updated version of previous gen UA liners, my first pair didn’t last so I’m hoping these hold up. The convertible index finger, thumb and RR pattern are what lead me to choose these gloves.

I’ve always had issues using my phone with gloves on regardless of whether or not they’re advertised as being screen compatible. However, these DO NOT have a convertible thumb. It specifically states on the description as well as the physical packaging the gloves are attached to.

Honestly best gloves I’ve ever bauhht. Wore these hunting this year in the desert and they were great. It got down into the high 20’s with good winds and they kept me comfortable. Not super warm, but comfortable.

They brushed off mesquite and cat claws just fine without getting snagged.

These gloves look and fit great and I like shooting with them. However I am disappointed that these gloves made it only two seasons, with Sitka claiming the durability is a 4 out 5. The grey fabric failed on almost every finger.

It began to fray with light use and continued to tear until the liner was exposed and adhesive failed between the layers. The leather durability was fair and the heaviest wear was seen on the thumb pads, but no stitch failures between leather pieces.

Do NOT use these to pick up decoys.

Good gloves, they stretch and wear in well (true to sizing chart). Have used them at the range and elk hunting, blood washes out well, and they clean up nice. The only issue I have with them is the breathability between fingers is too much for rifle season in Canada.

The cold winds (50 KM plus) off of the Rockies cool my hands off way too much when glassing in November. I wish they made a version with only leather, and booger wipes on the thumbs like ski gloves.

First Sitka product I’ve been disappointed in. The gloves provide very little warmth at all. Regular leather yard gloves are warmer. Even just running dogs in 35-40 degree weather, my fingers quickly get very cold/numb.

From a sizing standpoint these do stretch out a bit so if you’re between sizes go smaller if you want to retain any dexterity.

Nice gloves. My son has worn them on 5 hunts already. Thin, which makes them good in warm weather. The grip on palms and fingers are good for holding things and somewhat good for keeping the occasional sticker or thorn out of his hands.

Great turkey hunting gloves, they fit snug and are exactly what you want in a turkey glove.

Just got a pair of these. Not only do they fit my big hands, but they are not tight in the least. Once they are on you almost can’t even tell they are mesh back.

Light weight breathable gloves. Great for turkey or deer. Can feel the trigger without issue.

These gloves can be used for turkey season, early bow season or as a liner glove. Very comfortable and durable.

These gloves have been fantastic, i live in the pacific northwest of Canada, i bought these gloves for mid and late season hunting after having to carry multiple pairs of gloves to change as mine got wet grabbing on to wet trees and mossy ground while hunting.

I also use them for walking my dog and just in general. I have had the opportunity to wear them while it is raining, and my hands stayed warm and dry. These gloves are still mobile enough to manipulate my GPS, and i am able to keep them on while getting in and out of my back pack.

The only gripe i would have and it is a small one and i have been able to work around it, i wear a Garmin watch and the cuff of the glove doesn’t fit that well over top of it. but i just keep that cuff a bit looser and seems to work fine! Highly recommend these gloves, my Partner has a pair as well, she uses for dog walking and hiking and she loves them, fit is true, My hands wear 9.

5″ according to their size chart, and i bought the Large.

Good glove. Went for large as opposed extra large as I know they will relax a little and tried this product in a shop at 15 quid more than RRP. The large size is a tight fit at the moment. Looks good quality and I bought them as a shooting glove so index finger can be extracted for trigger and thenglove tip.

folds back and is held clear with a magnet as oppossed velcro which I feel is better. Velcro wasnt designed by Ninjas 😯. The termal protection in the field isnt brilliant at first go (dog walking with a high output metal torch) but to be honest.

i usually use a ski glove on the left in a vehicle. even 5 to 10 MPH adds a lot to chill factor) as well as it helps support the rifle and the right hand is inside with access to a pocket and a hand warmer too.

I wear a heavy and huge watch and this clashes with the cuff a lot but as this hand is typically inside a vehicle and it can still do up I dont consider it an issue. Unusalually I wear the watch on my right wrist as oppossed the left.

But if your out standing in the wind this may help chill your wrist and hand. Materials and construction seem good allowing for the limited thermal protection. However. shooting. the need to feel the rifle.

and operate the action etc means its a balance and a compromise. Too thick a glove and you loose tactile functionality. So ai am happy to recommend this glove as long as you allow for ultra cold conditions.

If I was high seating and sitting elevated in a sea exposed to wind then you need to consider an additioanal layer of thermal protection. Good product well made from a respected brand at a decent price.

Additional items would lessen the £ damage postage has for a single item.

Very impressed with the gloves warmth and water proofing. The dexterity is good. The sizing is a bit odd but it was to be expected by reading reviews before I bought. Only thing I’d change is to make it smartphone compatible! I ended up buying a pair of the cold weather gloves with fusion control as well.

It is smart phone capable but they don’t come in green which I liked the look of more.

I’ve owned these gloves for years and they are by far my most favorite. I’ve tried so many over the years and they are by far the most comfortable and fit perfectly. They are very soft and not bulky.

They arent super warm like the thick bulky pairs but they are plenty warm for anything above 20deg. I still wear these even with bone chilling negative temps but just slip a hand warmer in them. I dont like thick bulky gloves for shooting my gun or bow, so these are perfect.

At first I was a little skeptical because they looked a little thin but boy do these things keep your hands warm. I recently took them on a trip to Montana and to Yellowstone and they had a cold front with snow come through.

The temp got down to the high teens and low twenties but it warmed up a bit throughout the day. Luckily I remembered to pack these as they came in quite handy. If I would have been colder or been more outside, they I would have gotten colder but for our quick trips out of the car, they were perfect.

They have a great fit with my hands as I dont like loose fitting gloves. They kept my hands and fingers cozy and I was able to still take out my phone and use it with them on. I like the subtle texture pads on the inside so it was easy to grip and hold on to things.

Overall I am very impressed with these gloves and will be wearing them for quite some time.

I bought these to use as a clay shooting winter glove. I wore them last weekend and the first round I left my shooting hand glove free. In between rounds I had both gloves on. My second round, I didn’t realize until I was just about done that my shooting had had the glove on! These are perfect for my intended use.

Theses are nice gloves for the first few hunts but the stitching in the cuff is starting to come off and separate.

Let me just start by saying that Carhartt should be embarrassed by this product. I went ahead and ordered the gloves blindly without seeing them in person because of how impressed I have always been with previous purchases.

I’ll just get to the point and describe exactly what you get when you buy these gloves. They are filled with just enough insulation to give the appearance of a warm glove. When you put them on you immediately know that there is next to nothing in them.

Secondly, the shell is made out of extremely thin fleece that if used for hunting would tear you’re first time out. And third, the stitching is a joke. Now look, I am still a Carhartt fan and always will be, but if your going to put good products out there then don’t compromise your name for a few easy bucks.

Best fit in gloves that I’ve had for a long time. I use them for my cruiser motorcycle gloves and they breather between the fingers, providing good ventilation on long rides. Reinforced backs over the knuckles in case of scrapes and dings is a nice touch.

Palms have extra padding in the places that will wear the fastest. All around good bike gloves for my purposes in warm or cool weather.

Well made shooting gloves perfect for the Beretta Tomcat. My Tomcat nicks and cuts my hand sometimes at the range. With these gloves it’s no longer an issue firing off a couple boxes of ammo, changing mags, racking the slide and accidentally getting my thumb stuck against the receiver clearing malfunctions.

Gloves can get hot as their designed for outdoor use.

A few years ago I wore my friend’s LL Bean Upland hunting gloves and they were the best gloves I had ever worn. Sadly I haven’t been able to find any; and then I purchased these, but they just weren’t the same.

The quality and fit seemed much better than the newer version. They are OK at best, but not all the LL Bean quality that was once a given is there.

Kept my hands warm last night! Excellent fit without too much bulk. I didn’t feel like they really inhibited my trigger use. They are pricey though! However construction looks good. They should last years.

I normally take large gloves. With these I bought a medium and they are spot on! Measure your hand as in the sizing guide and you’ll end up with the correct fit!.

The gloves are an excellent true to size fit. They are warm in very cold weather and the fold back finger and thumb allow easy access to trigger & safety. The collar at the top ensures a good seal against the weather for the wrist.

By far the best glove I’ve ever used. From setting decoys to shooting. I used to be the guy that threw his gloves off while the ducks were approaching. Not anymore you can feel with these gloves and they are warm.

There is not much worse than cold hands driving a boat. This have solved that problem. My hands stay warm and still have enough grip to drive a surface drive.

Very good product, well made using quality materials. I have not used them in anger as it has not been as cold and wet as it was back in January. I ordered the medium as advised for size 9 and although they came up a bit tight I have been wearing them on my morning dog walks and they are now beginning to ease a little.

My only comment would be that the length of the little finger is slightly too short at the moment and I cannot put the full length in up to the web. I am hoping this will ease/stretch with time. Other than that I am very pleased with my purchase.

The gloves appear to be really good quality, but getting the size that fits took a bit of effort. Website fitting guide indicated I needed a medium and even though I ordered large they were too small.

Great service from NFC in exchanging them for XL that fit well. Time will tell how good they are in wet and cold weather.

I purchased the Super Down Pro Glassing Glomitt gloves (Size Large as my hand measures 7. 5 inches so I could have bought medim but bought one size up to wear over a liner glove) along with strongfleece 220 Glove (Size Medium-fits perfect- true to size) to be used a liner.

My intent is to use both these for my late season hunts where temps tend to get around zero degrees. As a test I took both gloves on a recent ski trip and the temperature was around 19 degrees. The Strongfleece 220 glove did not keep my hands warm by themselves at 19 degrees but when I put the Super Down Pro Glassing Glomitt gloves over the Strongfleece 220 glove my hands got toasty.

They got so toasty that I had to take the Glommit gloves off once in awhile to let my hands breath. I am very impressed with the Super Down Pro Glassing Glomitt gloves that I am now planning to buy the Super Down Pro Jacket and Pants to wear during my late season hunts.

Overall very impressed with these gloves and am very happy that I finally found a pair of gloves that will actually keep my hands warm in freezing temperatures. I do highly recommend these gloves!!!.

My hands get cold easily from various injuries, years of chainsaw use, and other heavy labor. My hands have always been an issue in the winter. The SUPER DOWN PRO GLASSING GLOMITT addressed those issues.

Had several long glassing sessions using the Glomitt in snowing conditions in the teens and they kept my hands toasty warm and functional for optic adjustments. I typically wear between a medium and large glove size but went with XL with these to leave room for a thin merino wool glove inside and more air space.

You can easily put your index finger in the designed finger when needed for trigger or optic adjustment or slide it over with the rest of the hand for extra warmth. Love these things. Waited way too long to invest in them.

If you’re digits are cold and you’re miserable, you’re not focused, and you’re not glassing. Light and functional with the compressibility you need for a backcountry hunt. Great product.

I bought these after years of frustration with bulky gloves that either get soaked easily, or provide so much bulk they’re useless for hunting. These are silly lightweight and super warm. The finger slot for trigger pull was the biggest sell for me with these vs the north star glommet.

I’ve used these several times already this bow season and can easily shoot my bow with full accuracy and dexterity using a 3 finger thumb release. The grip textiles really help to secure a tacky grip and I haven’t had any issues handling a rifle.

Thus far I have tested them down to the low 20s F and in mild snow and rain and have not had any issues with them getting wet. My pack will never not have these in it. Thanks for another quality product that you stand behind.

Best and most comfortable gloves I own. I love the fit of them because there’s nothing worse than gloves that are too long in the fingers and you can’t grab anything. I pick up decoys with these and have never had wet hands! Would buy them again!.

The gloves are undersized almost every glove I’ve ever used before a medium works best. I measured my hand too Drake’s chart and it agreed. Get the gloves can’t get them past my thumb order a large same thing had to put a shoe stretcher in overnight now they will slip on but the fingers are a inch to long I think you should try them on at a store before ordering online.

I have gone through a fair amount of “waterproof” gloves for waterfowl hunting over the years and these have been the best pair yet! They keep you hands dry and warm. I have used them several times this season setting and picking up decoys and in temperatures below 35 and they have done a great job.

I recommend them to anyone looking for a mid-tier glove that is reasonably priced, waterproof, and warm.
