20 Best Gloves For Warmth (2022 Updated)

Gloves are well made. I don’t have large hands but always order large. These gloves fit my palm but the fingers are too tight. i do not have large fingers. i will a home for them else where.

I was pleasantly surprised that these gloves were exactly what I was looking for. They are well made and the fit is perfect. I would highly recommend these gloves and for the price are definitely a good buy.

I just bought these so it is the tail end of the winter here in the Northeast but have had occasion to wear them. They are comfortable and warm! I followed other reviewer’s suggestions, ordered one size larger than I usually would, and they fit perfectly, so keep that in mind if you are going to buy them.

They are a winter glove so do not expect to text etc. however I was able to practice drawing (triple retention holster) and hold my handgun while wearing them.

Arrived on time. Looks and fits fine. Not sure how well they will hold in heat. They seem a bit on the light side and may not be able to handle the cold temperatures as stated. May need to wear a liner underneath to trap heat.

The good thing is that they have good grip and seem too provide adequate water protection. The bright orange will provide some good visibility when walking the dog and snow removal out by the road.

Those gloves really are true to the title. I’ve been working in the cold UP of Michigan and they’ve been a godsend. I need to use my fingers for dog-handling and these gloves keep my warm from the snow and wetness of working outside.

Legit waterproof too ** (up to the bottom of the palm). Grip is unmatched, I wear them watching TV now because no one is able to tear the remote away from my hands.

I’ve been using this during winter mountain biking and I find the thickness works well for both the index and thumb to change gears and put one finger on the brake. I’ve taken these in -10C and have worked well so far.

Other reviewers mentioned the index can get a bit colder than other fingers, but it has been manageable so far. I’m usually a large in gloves. This fits as a slightly snug large which makes sense to keep the precision with the index and thumb.

I also find the thumb a bit better with the touch screen than the index finger. Not sure why. Overall, these are great!.

Perfect spring glove and or pipe glove. Mittens are awesome but gotta have gloves in the park. Just prefer the manual dexterity of the use of your whole hand. Much easier to grab your board or make a video.

Light duty so your hands don’t get all sweaty.

I am female beginner snowboarder usually using a female small or SM size gloves. I bought this mittens ti myself with L size to accommodate my wrist guard inside. I have a Xtreme s size wrist guard and it fits well inside, and I can wear it by myself.

I have s size demon double-side wrist guard, it is rather hard to pull the mittens on it and it always needs someone to help. This gloves is in good quality, as a beginner I fall and put my hand on snow quite often.

It keeps my hand dry all day long in Japan powdery snow. I just got one day without powdery snow, it still keeps me dry all day. The surface is leather and it becomes a little wear after using for 8 whole-day snowboarding.

I guess it is because I hold on board edge quite often to walk to ski resort, yet it does not get wet inside. Moreover, I really LOVE the color. I bought the red one and it looks exactly the same as the photo here.

Had high hopes for these gloves but with just one use they continued to disappoint over and over again. First issue is they are just hard to get one. There is like a mini glove instead and the fingers get balled up and its hard to push your fingers through to straighten them out, especially the pinky.

And if your hands are cold when putting them on, it takes over 10mins for them to warm up. Once they are warm, they are warm which is nice. I wore the gloves two days ago and already knew I wanted to return them.

Today I was getting them ready to return, reached inside and they were still all wet from I guess my hands being sweaty in them. I have never experienced this in a glove before and it was disgusting.

Tried to turn them inside out to dry but again due to this inner glove and the bulk of the outside glove, I wasn’t able to turn the fingers inside out. I do NOT recommend these gloves.

Just received my Scott Ultimate Pro Mittens. They appear to be well made and should work well. However, I have always had a size Large hand but recently ran into a problem with some OR mittens being too small so I ordered an X-Large instead.

The Scott in X-Large fits very well, none too big. I’m sure a Large would have been too small. I’d recommend you order a size up. I do have to say I’m having some second thoughts over this purchase. I have very cold hands (Raynaud’s) and need a mitten where my fingers can be next to each other to stay warm.

Therefore, I generally avoid mittens with finger pockets or glove liners. These Scott mittens have finger pockets and I knew that, but the sale price was unbelievable and just too good to pass up. However, I’m now thinking maybe I should have ordered the Dakine Titan GoreTex Mittens that were $5 more but still a great sale price.

They would have 2 advantages over this Scott mitten: 1. A removable glove liner that I could replace with a mitt liner if necessary (and remove to dry) 2. Wrist leashes so I don’t drop my mittens when I have to take them off to check my phone, take a picture, etc (although I can easily make wrist leashes for these Scott mittens) In summary, these are a perfectly good mitten for most people.

They are very well made and this sale price is unbelievable. However, my favorite mittens of all time (I’ve had OR, BD, Marmot and now Scott) are still my Marmot Expeditions ($115 msrp) that I use all the time for skiing and are one of the best mittens according to GearJunkie.

The only downsides of the Marmot are the lack of a zippered heater pocket (but they are a much warmer mitten right out of the box), and if they get wet they can take a while to dry out since the liners are not removable.

Ordered these to replace my original pair that I left at a ski resort last year. I don’t know what it is about this style/brand, but they are the most comfortable fit for my hands. Literally fit like a glove.

warm & fuzzy inside, wrist length is wide enough to be comfy with ski jacket sleeves. Never have a problem with dexterity or pulling them on/off. Palm width is spacious enough not to cause hand fatigue, and Velcro across base of wrist just plain makes sense.

My hands dry excessively in the winter due to exposure to the cold air. These gloves are thin and act as a second skin for me. They are not the warmest gloves, but they work as a base layer for thicker winter gloves if required.

The touch sensitive padding is only on the index finger; however, it is much better quality than the thin piece of layer most other gloves use that can easily tear and rip. There gloves are highly recommended.

I like almost everything about these gloves: They are good looking, and with the red trim, easy to keep your eye on so you don’t lose track of them. Well made, very warm for their weight and thickness, they work well for Nordic skiing (for me) from 30 degrees F down to about 10.

What makes the gloves less than absolutely great is that the liners of the gloves are not fully attached inside the shells and, when hands are the slightest bit damp, the liners can pull out of the fingers of the shells when removing the gloves.

It can be difficult to get the liners properly back into the shells. It’s a significant drawback on an otherwise very good product.

Stretchy , grippy and touch screens friendly gloves. That would be the shortest description. True to size ,high quality materials. But I wouldn’t use them for winter activities or really cold days. Gloves are just too thin to provide warmth.

Palmar side has added very sticky V shaped rubber ? bars. Not sure how friction resistant they would be in heavier use but for holding camera on a trial , changing lenses etc , that extra grip works beautifully.

Not worth the money. The inner glove looks so cheap and is has those little balls all over it from wearing them less than 2 weeks and the outer waterproof glove fingers were too short despite the inner pair fitting well.

The I bought a small which is always my size. But as I mentioned the fit is very strange. Also, the material is suppose to work with phones, but I had to constantly take my gloves off while skiing because they weren’t working.

So that was also frustrating. The look is nice, and the slits for heat packs is great. But with the fingers being short it feels weird and does not allow for a good grip when skiing or sledding etc. Overall, these gloves are not worth the money.

But if you have very short fingers and others normal hands these could be for you, just remember the inner glove are cheaply made and finger length is normal.

I am new to Columbia Sportswear and the Omni-heat Technology, and I am pleasantly surprised with how effective these gloves work! I went on a ski/snowboarding trip recently in below freezing temps. My hands were perfectly comfortable the entire time.

It comes with a liner, which in itself, managed to seem warm enough when I needed to take my gloves off to help the kids or grab videos/photos with my phone. With the gloves on, my hands were comfortable for hours without the need of adding hand warmers etc.

They were comfortable. They did not feel too tight but just right. They have the wrist loops to keep the gloves in place dangling from your wrists when you take them off, they do have the waterproof zipper vent as well.

Great glove, I was super impressed.

I own more Columbia gear than any other brand and have always been impressed with their durability & performance (especially at the corresponding price point). It’s rare that I am disappointed with their gear, but sadly this is one of those instances.

The technical features of these gloves are outstanding – – cuff adjustability, pull tabs, removable/elastic leashes, webbing adjustments, soft/absorbant wipe, etc. However, the digit insulation is not very good, so finger tips get cold quickly, even with the liners on and in moderately cold temps (20 – 30 degF).

Fix this shortcoming and you’ve got an excellent glove for winter activities. Fix it while keeping MSRP reasonable and you have the best value on the market. FWIW, I was not aware of the Wild Card version of these gloves when I made this purchase and am curious if they solve this problem.

but I won’t risk trying them since I’m already stuck with one pair of gloves that I have no real use for.

When the gloves arrived I didn’t think they would be warm, but I was surprised. I got for kayak fishing but took a winter ride on the bike with warm hands. My hands are normally warm except one finger that is missing some flesh, even it stayed warm.

The fold back fingers work great and I’m using to work in shop (no heat). I don’t give a 5 unless I really like a product, and not sure how long they will last but for now a solid 5!.

Perfect fit gloves. I purchased them to be used when I go fishing in the Northern Sierras. Being able to pullback and uncover the finger tips seems like a great idea when having to re-hook/bait lines.

The construction seems to be of superior quality. I’d recommend these gloves to any fisherman and or hunter.

I got these for my son. He wanted fingerless gloves. This turned out to be a nice solution, as he wanted the first few fingers free for cell phone use & small tasks. He really likes them! They have a magnetic hold for the fingerless section.

Rain gloves are the perfect gloves for rainy days as well as cold days. We play all year long and you need gloves on both hands when it is below 50 F. What makes rain gloves special is that when you pick up a wet ball, it doesn’t matter than your gloves got wet.

that actually improves the tackiness of the glove when gripping a club. Winter gloves are too thick. Rain gloves do the job for the cold as well as the rain, so no need for winter gloves.

The Good: fit well and comfortable. Good grip with club. Not bulky The Bad: not as warm as the foot joy Overall: for me, I liked them and use them in weather with temps in high 30’s and minimal wind.

If colder or more wind, my fingers were a little cold. ( I am not very smart and will play in temps in the 20’s just to get out of the house in the winter).

I was skeptical of two gloves playing golf. But I figured for $13 it was worth a shot so I could still play/practice more comfortably in the winter. These are great: not so thick that you can’t feel shots/have a good grip and warm enough to play with.

Great price for good gloves. My son likes that they don’t restrict his hands too much, and prefers these over other gloves. Kept his hands warm for skiing and for general outside/snow play.

Nothing but the best for my child . Such a joy to look out the window to see my child playing all warm and toasty. Perfect match to her ll bean jacket!! Highly recommended

good ski gloves – kid usually wears an adult small but fit in these surprisingly. bought because they matched her new ski coat which was not ll bean. Great outlet price so even if we get one year out of them, worth it.

Bought medium size, which should have fit my hands according to measurements available online. They were a tad snug and my fingers were rather cold from walking the dogs in cold winter weather (upper 20’s) for an hour.

I contacted Windrider and they suggested getting the next size up to allow for a bit more air circulation inside the glove. I did that and, to my dismay, I still have very cold fingers. The gloves are made well but they do not keep my fingers warm in temperatures around freezing.

In the 20’s and teens, my fingers are freezing. I just bought a pair of mittens and they work much better. Unfortunately I do not see Windrider mittens for adults, which would be a great option. Oh well.

A friend of mine bought a suit from Windrider and said it was really warm. Both of us are in mid 60s and like to play on Lake Erie ice in winter when we have it to fish on. So i tried his suit on and ordered one for myself.

I Airboat in the Lake Erie Islands and ive had Mustang and Sterns equipment, very good stuff and id recommend to anyone. But if your looking for a reasonably priced suit with good zippers, floatation and very warm this is it.

We both may order a second suit just to have one should you discontinue it. We think its a great product and we would recommend it to anyone that asks us. Sincerely, Chris Ladd.

After almost 20 years of riding I made the leap. I got tired of trying to find a glove that would help me to feel my fingers through a North Georgia winter riding season and I ponied up to get some battery operated heated gloves.

These FXR’s fit well and do what I’ve asked them to do so far. I’ve had them in the mid 30’s and I expect, based on that experience that they will perform well down into the mid 20’s when called upon.

The heating elements go all the way down the back of the hand to the fingertips; just where I need the heat. I haven’t had to charge the batteries much yet, so it’s difficult to really understand how long I can expect a charge to last.

I’ve used the ‘medium’ setting more than any other so far. I haven’t had too much riding time below 40, so the the ‘high’ setting hasn’t been necessary. The bulk is about what I would expect in a glove offering this kind of insulation.

I can still operate my controls safely, but the feel is certainly diminished from wearing my pairs of lighter weight gloves. I would definitely recommend these gloves.

I bought these gloves for skiing and have 58 days use so far in the 2020/21 season. The past week had temperatures in the -20 C range and these gloves performed beautifully. I usually use the medium setting but will probably buy a second set of batteries so I can have them on high all day when it gets really cold.

On big powder days when when it’s warmer than -10 C and I’m working up a sweat I don’t need the heat on at all. They are well-constructed and holding up great. Very happy with the price compared to gloves of similar quality made specifically for skiing.

I would definitely buy these again.

These as EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for to extend my motorcycle season. Liner appears to be thick and windproof while maintaining dexterity (something gauntlet gloves couldn’t achieve). 4 star is because I’ve only used these once but I was very happy.

If they hold out long term I will upgrade.

I thought I would try these gloves because of the price. They have a nice feel to them. They seem sturdy, good grip, and have a medium feel (definitely not bulky, but not like normal summer gloves either).

They really did not keep my hands that warm. I have other non riding gloves that seem to work better, but I use these for below freezing temperatures. When it gets closer to zero I use my other gloves otherwise I cannot really tell a difference between no gloves and these gloves after a certain point.

Basically keep the wind off your hands, but they do not retain heat. I also have very long fingers (I am abut 6′) and these fit great in the large.

These gloves are just what I needed for middle to end of winter. They are warm without being too heavy. I can put on blanket straps and open feed bins without taking them off! The only design flaw is the reinforced fabric around the baby fingers which feels cumbersome.

Otherwise, they are a great buy!.

I just received these after about a month’s wait. I have small hands and these fit almost perfectly; the thumb was just a bit longer than mine. I love how they have grip between the pinkie and ring finger for English riders as well as extra grip between the thumb and first fingers.

They are comfortable inside without being too bulky. All that being said, I haven’t worn them when riding, so how they feel for that remains to be seen.

These mittens pack warmth and lightness. I think they’re cute too- understated and go with my black/grey ski gear. I have notoriously cold hands (and toes), and these keep my hands very toasty skiing.

I haven’t tested them in negative temps, but especially with the included liner gloves I think they’d be great. They’re easy on/off with a jacket too! Very important for the picky skier. I bought a large.

I have normal, slightly long hands. The large is roomy, but not too big. The extra space helps to keep my hands toasty. I could’ve gone with a medium had they been in stock. My hands will sweat a little in them (prone to clammy hands) but the mitten lining wicks it away and I come out with dry hands and mits.

This is the perfect glove and exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a glover thicker than a liner that I could wear for backcountry treks up a mountain but also something that could work for walking my dog in the evenings on mild winter evenings.

This glove satisfies both. It wicks moisture very effectively and dries quickly. Highly recommend.

I have Raynaud’s (issue with circulation to hands and feet, so my hands are constantly cold and at a higher risk of frostbite), and these gloves have kept my hands warm on many cold east coast ski days! There is a zipper compartment on the back of the hand where I usually insert hand warmers, which really helps ensure warm hands.

They also have the leash attachment so that when I’m on the lift, I can take off my mittens, use my phone with the touch-screen compatible liner gloves, and not worry about losing my mittens because they are secured with the leash.

We were trying to find a glove comparable to a different brand we used to purchase. We found these Polar Penguin gloves and they’re exactly what we were looking for! They keep your hands warm and dry and our employees love using them when they’re working outside or plowing snow.

Too big for my hands. I am 5’1” female dock workers. finding gloves that fit me and keeps my hands warm is a struggle. I gifted these to one of my coworkers he said they work very well for him fit perfect.

The 3396 gloves, Arctic fleece hat and AH3011 Arctic hat are Great items for extreme cold condition to keep hands and your head protected!!

Overall a good glove, but I have some complaints. First what I like. I love that I no longer have to fish out a warmer glove for the down. Pull on the over mitt (very toasty) and I’m good to go. Now the bad.

1) the glove portion has very chunky seams. For the price I’d expect the liner to at least be as comfy as a BD or OR fleece glove. 2) they bleed black dye onto plastic. My helmet and ear buds get a black film on them every time.

Happily it washes off. 3) stuffing the over mitt into the cuff never fits under the cuff of your jacket and is very tight. 4) The touch sensitive pointer and thumb only work if you use them just so. I love the concept , but the execution could be better.

There just aren’t a lot of options for this type of glove.

After about 30 days with these I’m a fan. I run warm and have only had to use the overmitt on 2 or 3 occasions, usually the glove is enough for me down to around 5-10° F. Below that if I’m touring I use Black Diamond Arc gloves that have a little insulation.

My favorite feature is the leash around the wrist. It’s very nice to have them hanging on the skin up and have them right at hand to glove up again before the transition when your hands may come in contact with snow/metal and get cold.

Since the overmitt doesn’t see much use it is showing no wear, but I could definitely see it getting shredded easily. 4 stars because the sizing is odd. I tried M and L and am between sizes. I know they’re probably supposed to be tight but the M was a touch too tight.

L is a bit loose but still low enough profile to work for me.

Overall: Five Stars for a fairly typical softshell light- to moderate-duty glove with the added bonus of an integrated and quickly deployable additional wind layer. Only Caveats are really small sizing (with no sizing chart from CAMP!) and limited durability of the separate wind layer.

Background on product familiarity: I bought a pair in Medium which always fits me in every other brand. but these were a bit too small so I eventually gave them to a buddy. First, the first impressions out of the box: How can these be so tight for a size Medium? Otherwise, a fairly typical lightweight glove … except for the integrated and quickly deployable wind mitten for when the elements temporarily overcome the warmth and/or water resistance of the glove.

Second impressions, in use: I run very hot, so I can get by with lightweight gloves for something like 99% of the time. For the remaining 1%, I’m always reluctant to go into my pack for bulky waterproof overgloves, especially given that stopping is just going to freeze me up even more.

Instead, just deploy the separate wind mitten layer for that extra little bit of warmth and/or water resistance that is almost always all someone like me needs, as long as I’m still moving. Third impressions, for long-term durability: The glove durability is typical for such a lightweight design.

The separate wind mitten layer will last okay if you use it only for skinning (as I have on another pair). But if you wear it while messing with buckles, skis, skins, etc. , then it will shred fairly quickly (as my buddy has done, and as is obvious from even a cursory inspection of the material).

It seems the coldest these glove can be used to keep your hands warm is probably somewhere around 32 degrees (0 C). They might be winter gloves for the mid USA, I am in Toronto probably the warmest winter in Canada, and these gloves do not work at keeping your hands warm.

However, they fit tight and offer manual dexterity, and are durable, just don’t expect warmth. I am 6’2″ and 180 lb normally I get large gloves, I am glad I purchased extra large other wise I don’t think they would have fit.

I have to assume that the 5 star reviews are from warmer locations (USA).

Tough, warm winter work gloves that shine all year long. Neoprene coating is perfect for grip and keeping your hands warm and dry. (Not waterproof but they aren’t meant to be. ) I’ve had a pair for a while, so this is a repurchase.

I wear them cycling in cold months and doing yard work year round.

Size runs Very small. Bought XL size at Home Depot and they were way too small, they fit my wife just fine. XXL was the largest I could find. They are much better, probably could use XXXL. The gloves are great, warm enough, and keep your hands dry.

Haven’t had them long enough to tell about longevity, but they have held up while splitting and stacking firewood so far.

These gloves are exactly what I wanted! I wear them all the time while walking my dog. They are double layers of fleece, the outer layer plus an inner fleece lining. The thing I like most about them (compared to my previous gloves, which are much thinner) is it makes very little difference warmth-wise if my hands are in my pockets or holding my dog’s leash.

They are not perfect, despite the 5-star review. (I just think they’re wonderful and warm enough to make up for the imperfections. ) The outer fleece lining has little to no grip and the fingers are rather thick.

The palms are nice and grippy though. These wouldn’t be good if you need to do anything intricate with your fingers, but are fine gripping ski poles or holding a leash.

I bought these gloves essentially so that I could walk my dog in the winter. I recently moved from Texas to Maryland and don’t have a lot of winter accessories. I thought these gloves would be perfect, but as it turns out I really hate them.

They’re too bulky to handle the leash and forget clipping the leash to the harness with them on – that’s impossible. I bought gloves instead of mittens so that my fingers would be available, but these gloves are so thick and bulky that there’s no dexterity.

I figured I just wear them out and about, but I can’t unlock the car with them on, and driving is so awkward. I tried shoveling in them, but they turned into sponges in the snow. They were a waste of money for me.

I bought these men’s gloves for myself because I thought they were roomier than the women’s. I liked the fingers in the large better because they are longer, but the width of the medium sized gloves were a much better fit.

I normally wear a women’s large or a men’s medium. The fleece is thick, soft & warm, which for me is very important because I’m very bothered by the cold. I usually prefer mittens, but I really love these gloves.

They’re very comfortable, I love the nonslip palms for driving, and these gloves are easily machine washable and dryable. I highly recommend these gloves and I’m glad I bought them! (VT location).

I tend to get very cold hands and numb fingers when cycling whenever the temperature drops towards zero no matter what gloves I use. These are not perfect, but when paired with a liner glove they kept my hands warm on a 4.

5 hour ride at temperatures between 1 and 4 degrees this weekend. Not used them in the wet yet so can’t comment on waterproofing or when conditions are cold and wet. One problem with the gloves were that a thread of elastic pulled loose from the cuff around the wrist on one of the gloves, however I’ve managed to fix it with a bit of stretching and some tweezers.

The other gripe I had was with the delivery, which was in a large box so I had to go and pick it up from the local delivery depot when they could have easily fitted into a large padded envelope and posted through the letterbox.

I live in Montana, USA, and the winters here get bitter cold. I have pile lined deerskin finger gloves that I used for a couple years when feeding horses, but in -40F windchill my fingers would be blue within 5 minutes, even with layering.

I wanted a glove that was flexible enough to maneuver chains and gate latches but toasty enough that I wouldn’t get frostbite throwing hay. These mittens changed my life. I’ve had them for three long winters now, the last of which was *extreme*, and not once did I have cold fingers.

I layer them with cheap cotton finger gloves underneath and I’m absolutely set. The grippy underneath is nigh barbwire proof.

It was 8 degrees this morning. Wind chill of zero. Did barn chores, outside chores, walked the dog, and spent an hour in these temperatures. My fingers did not get cold and numb. I’m ordering more for future use.

Keeps my hands warm riding in Alaska

I’ve been framing houses for 20 plus years in Iowa. The winters are pretty brutal at times. Finding gloves to work outside has been a life long struggle. These do pretty well for warmth & keeping your hands dry.

Better then I expected. I have tried so many styles of gloves & same results. Freezing cold hands. These aren’t really going to allow you to grab small screws or things to that nature , but I can grab hand drive nails from my tool belt pretty well.

I find them best when I’m running the nail gun because having the air ran threw the gun handle will freeze your hand ! The finger fits well in the trigger on most circ saws as well.

Got these free when I bought the t4 bibs wasn’t sure I would use them for anything other than shoveling but I absolutely love them even though they do have some bulk I find that I still have a lot of dexterity with them on and retrieving items from my nail bag.

Super easy to take on and off was a pleasant change from the gloves that pull from the liner when you try taking them off. As long as these hold up a good while I will definitely be buying more. Love these gloves.

Excellent fit, excellent construction. These gloves are well made, warm and comfortable. I’ve worn them in temps down to 4F without an issue. They are too nice to ruin at work around petroleum products but I wear them everywhere else.
