20 Best Glue For Abs (2022 Updated)

Someone broke the side rear view mirror off of my wife’s car in a parking lot. It was hanging by the wire. I used this glue to repair the plastic mount that holds the mirror on the car door. I honestly didn’t expect it to hold since the edges being glued were so thin (and made of plastic) but gave it shot, fully expecting to have to buy a new mirror assembly anyway.

I let the glue dry overnight before reinstalling the mirror to the car. To my surprise, the repair held up great. She’s been driving the car as well as opening and closing the door as if the damaged never occurred.

The mirror doesn’t vibrate while driving and the repair is solid. Saved me the cost of a new mirror! I really like this glue and will use again for tough repairs that most glues won’t work for.

I hate Superglue. the stuff is like water and you glue your fingers together. You know. I found the glue when I had a project to glue leather to stainless steel. flexible it said. Well it works great.

2nd project Rubber to rubber. Raised white letter kits for tire. company send superglue. it worked horribly. this stuff flexible and worked great. It has to set not exactly instant contact. Take time to set and bond.

Once bonded its done. !!! Who ever gave this glue a bad rating should stick to that god awful watery stuff. I’m a 60 year old Professional motorcycle technician this is the best glue.

Works super fast. I used it on some sockets to adapters ( metal to metal). WEAR RUBBER GLOVES. It’s a small tube so I figured I wouldn’t be touching it but some squeezed out of the middle crack to my fingers.

I was quick to wipe with alcohol.

Fresh product that works well. Cures fast and weeps into tight spaces and grabs well.p

It has been a product I have used for years, it makes build an RC airplane a breeze to build, you see a little puff of smoke when it instantly cures, I use a small fan to keep the fumes out of my face.

From a product called cement for ABS I expect to glue ABS parts together and eventually develop a strength comparable to the plastic itself. After a week, the connection seems stronger. than using Pritt.

Purchased this a few months back to repair the plastic working bowl for our food processor. Had some success as the repair held for about 10 uses until bowl broke again. Went to use the glue again but found that product had dried up – as other reviewers have mentioned, this is a 1-time use product.

So purchased a second glue kit but this time repaired 2 plastic items. Both items failed right away. So i tested the glue on a few other plastic items to see if perhaps it was the type of plastic that I was having the issue with.

Conclusion – this glue is no better than cheap super glue you can get at the dollar store. All marketing / no delivery. Lesson learned -I should have put the $20 I spent on this towards a new bowl instead of wasting on this product.

So many glues including plain cyanoacrylates and epoxy don’t work with polyethylene; they eventually peel off, like you’d expect from a slippery surface. But the activator (primer) makes all the difference.

Wasn’t sure if this product would work with sheet polyethylene, which flexes. It does. This glue did exactly what I wanted, which was to create a stiffer 3-ply slightly bent rigid platform. Activator pen and cyanoacrylate covered at least 80 sq in (8 x 10 in.

) area easily. Not much activator is needed–just “paint” over the area like you’re using a marker pen. Wish I knew about this years ago.

received product in good time. Product was still sealed in Loctite container. Very poor instructions on using activator (appeared to be nothing in it) If you inverted the activator container for 5 minutes, and then applied it, you could see a trace of something being applied.

I am not sure it was an adequate amount. I completed the repair, but I have very little confidence in the integrity of the bond.

I don’t know why, but I love most anything that comes in small compact packaging and that is also easy to carry around. I had a huge issue with the rearview mirror in my car falling off (It’s a long story.

). I tried Epoxy glue, but let’s be honest, who has the patience and the time to hold up the mirror until the glue fully dries? I sure didn’t. This Gorilla Super Glue made it so easy, and the glue dried up in a matter of seconds.

It fixed my rearview mirror problem, for now at least. Thank goodness for super glue! I highly recommend this product for any quick fixes, but buyer beware. This stuff really sticks and dries up super fast! :).

Mysteriously, this product completely ruined four of my paintings and my dining room table. I had painted glass from an 8×10 frame and needed to glue the glass into the frame. For every one (I did 4) the glass fogged up all around where it had been glued.

It looks like cloudy water or soap build up. This same “build up” somehow eeked onto my dining room table (there was definitely no dripping of glue – I had done the gluing on a mat then moved the project to the table to set completely).

So it was like the fumes from the glue ruined the table? Same thing happened to one of the picture frames as well. When I try wiping it off, it disappears then reappears just as bad a few minutes later.

I’ve used gorilla products before and have been happy, so I’m completely shocked and baffled by this. And extremely sad as it totally ruined four paintings I was planning to sell.

In my time, I’ve tried a lot of different super glue brands, from Loctite, to Tamiya, to the small toothpaste-looking tubes. Now, I’ve found my favorite. The Gorilla glue is slow to dispense from the bottle, which means I have better control over how much glue I’m using.

It also takes less time to set and bond, which is nice. So far as I can tell, when two glued pieces do break apart, there’s no residue like what Loctite leaves. I’m incredibly happy with the product.

Got this for repairing several short (< 8mm) hairline cracks in ABS, and while it is easy to apply a small drop as needed, and I verified that the drop had gotten into the crack, it simply didn't provide a very strong bond -- this, after 3 days of cure.

A very slight flex immediately opened the crack up. The crack was radial from a 1/2″ hole in which a strain relief is inserted. The strain relief goes in and out easily and does not produce undue stress on the plastic.

Using it a second time, with 5 days cure seems to have worked, but I have very little confidence in this glue.

Great product, first time user and it is so much better than the other glues I’ve been using in jewelry making. This adheres quickly, no movement and clear and clean bonds. Will definitely keep using this product.

Starbond it’s one of the purest forms of cyanoacrylate. The thin sets quick and as a wood turner I use it to fill voids and do modified glue UPS it is one of the superior finishes that you can use on pens and wood.

The best product money can buy.

This is a product that really works, even under heat and pressure. I used to fix my split plastic part of radiator hose of my car. I was skeptical that it would work under such heat and pressure just close to engine as it says on packing max 80C.

I read the review of one person who fixed crack in radiator reservoir tank and it fixed from him. This inspired me to go ahead Here’s what I did. 1. Thoroughly clean both surfaces, sandpaper is ideal for this job.

Later, cleaned with alcohol hand sanitizer. ( every one has it in these covid days) 2. Dry the surfaces 3. Make sure you take equal quantities of resin and hardner, from each tube. Mix as instructed on packing.

This is a chemical reaction and works more perfectly at warmer temperatures, so I had to take out that broken plastic hose from radiator and brought in home. 4. Apply the mixed compound to the required area and hold it firm or place under light pressure.

This is the most critical part to ensure that after sticking both parts, there should stay intact without even slight movement. I didn’t wipe the excess as I wanted to reinforce the joint externally.

5. Immediately after sticking both parts together, I warmed the joint with hair drier for 10 minutes, then 5min break and then for another 10 min and left overnight for about 12 hours. 6. In the morning, it was solid hard and ready to be fitted.

7. its 2 weeks now, 600kms driven in summer, still no leak at all. I am very happy that this product has saved me from expensive replacement part. hope this helps you too. Regards.

I used Araldite Rapid adhesive to attach a piece of wood to the interior of a fibreglass boat. Despite the 5 minute reference in the name, I would say that it took about an hour to go hard enough to handle in 15c to 20c.

This is still pretty good in my opinion because some epoxy resins take several hours. The glue did not drip out of the joint despite me using quite a thickness to fill the uneven gap – good again. I temporarily held the wood in place with duct tape while it went hard.

I fully expect that after 24 hours it will have cured to full strength and be stronger than both the wood and the fibreglass. I have used epoxy resin of all sorts and this one is very convenient to measure out and use.

I’d been looking at both this and the Gorilla Resin. This is a little cheaper and had better reviews, but didn’t have the syringe function. I went with this as it had better reviews and I’m glad I did.

Easy enough to squeeze out and the mixing plastic tool is surprisingly useful. I used it on plastic and taped the joint while it set (even taping over where the epoxy had been). After 30-mins removed the tape (and it came off the epoxy part fine) and then left it for another couple of hours to fully set.

Very, very strong. I’d recommend reading the instructions (on the packet) before use, just so you do what it says to do (the trick of using a blade to remove excess whilst it is partially set works well too).

Plenty in the tubes though and OK to store given there can be no cross contamination. Really pleased with the purchase and Toolstation excellent as usual with C+C with it being in stock in the local store.

Good but the cap leaks. I don’t know if all have this problem or not. Check before using. The tips also leaks. I found out the hard way.

It will break again just not in the same spot as you glued it the first time. It sticks and stays stuck

I use a lot of glue, for fixing things, for jewelry making and for around the house. I have bought many types of super glue. ALL OF THEM dry up in the containers even if not opened, after a while. This does not.

I highly recommend this. It works well, quickly, and is easy to use. It sets up quickly. It works well on almost all surfaces I can think of. Best stuff I have ever used as far as glue goes.

This is a really great product. I used it on several items and I’m very happy with the results. It is easy to use and it bonds very quickly. I have tried other “super glue” products in the past, but nothing as good as this!.

The price is great, but this gel was made in China while the regular HFT super glue I purchased before came from India. My first shock was when I opened a tube and had it squirt out a lot of the glue due to internal tube pressure.

I was outside in 65-degree weather in the shade, so heat was not a problem. The second shock was when I discovered that the tube was mostly filled with air with very little actual product in the tube.

This repeated itself for the next two tubes. I never did get enough out of one tube to finish my project, and my having to open another tube caused a delay in the bonding which ended up being a disaster.

This was my first mishap with HFT, and I hope this is my last.

There is no question the super glue in these tubes is very effect with a surface solidification time of some 20-30 seconds, which is actually longer than the product package states. The big caveat is that I have found with these tubes is that the dispensing tip clogs and solidifies before you have used all of the product.

Th saving grace, fortunately, is that you have 10 rubes to use, so the overall cost per tube is low enough so that you don’t mind having to discard a tube before it is completely empty. You can also poke holes in the tube to get out more glue to use.

I keep coral reef saltwater tanks and use a lot of super glue gel in my operation. It works great for gluing down bit of coral on to rocks or frag plugs. I have used a LOT of different brands and this is by far my favorite.

The gel constituency is perfectly suited for what I need and the price is awesome. Each tube is 3g and if you compare to other small tubes of gels you’ll see that they are usually less than that. This means that the price per tube is not only cheaper but the tubes themselves contain more product.

One thing I have noticed is that the first “Dab” of glue can be a little runny but after that it’s perfect.

This product IS NOT for the novice! It almost works too good for the professional. Thread locking is virtually instantaneous. Just the small amount of heat generated when threading two items together will initiate locking.

If there is a future plan to separate the parts bonded, use a milder form of locking agent, such as Loctite Blue. If misalignment can occur, dry fit all parts BEFORE bonding. Make locating marks, and mask any part that should not be coated with this adhesive.

Super bond strength. Test thread bonding on similar, but sacrificial, parts first. Freezing threaded parts may slow the bonding action. YOU GET ONE CHANCE! No joke. Use sparingly.

As time has passed, more and more items have been broken never to be reassembled. until now. A broken pet’s headstone of granite fixed. A ceramic bobble-head chihuahua’s head broken at the neck fixed.

A brass plate separated from a granite headstone reattached. A glass ornamental soap dish shattered but now reassembled and no leaks. I don’t know what this stuff won’t hold together if anything. maybe air molecules(?) I recommend this to anyone who wants to fix something worth saving.

One last thing. when I used Super Glue in the past, after opening the bottle, using it and setting it aside for a few days the opening would be crusted and the contents would eventually dry out. Not so with this product.

It flows from the container as if just opened each and every time you use it. No crusting, no fuss, no muss, sets quickly and the container is easy to handle so that you don’t get any on your fingers/hands.

The cap “snaps” when it is sufficiently closed; not like other glues of this type where you don’t know if you’ve “torqued” the cap sufficiently to prevent evaporation. If you’ve got something that needs to be reattached/reassembled, get this LOCTITE product and get it Back Together!.

Glued a plastic base to a stainless steel travel mug that kept coming loose. Base screwed to another plastic portion, stainless was middle sleeve of the mug, Ran the mug through the dishwasher, still stuck, can’t undo it.

Wondering how many time I can run it through the dishwasher before I can tighten it up a bit as I didn’t get it quite like I wanted it. Holding strong, sets quickly, basically it’s a quality super glue, colored black.

Don’t get it on your fingers or other things you don’t want it on. I will buy more when I use this up and need more.

I needed to repair a pair of flip-flops made of rubber (Havaianas). I tried two other kinds of “super glue” but they would not work. Then I tried this Loctite Ultra Gel and it worked perfectly! The consistency is thick so it doesn’t run.

Combined with the design of the bottle (it’s made to easily squeeze the sides), it’s very easy to control both the amount used and placement on the items to be glued. It doesn’t dry instantly, so you have a few seconds to reposition whatever you’re gluing.

Once the pieces are connected though, it does adhere quickly. Great product, highly recommend it!.

Superglue just got it’s cape!!! First, it’s a gel which doesn’t run. Gives you better control. It has a rubber toughened formula which makes a great seal that holds great. It does take about 5 minutes to set so you have a little time to get item positioned.

( full cure takes 12-24 hours). Now here’s where it marvels. You actually have to squeeze the blue levers on side of bottle to dispense. This makes it easier to control, easier to dispense a drop or a blob.

And easier to stop dispensing. Then… it self closes nozzle when blue levers are release so it doesn’t dry out as quick!! Excellent improvement! It’s about time! Finally the super glue has its cape! Bravo!.

This glue holds like nobody’s business. So it does it’s job perfectly but for me the best part was the applicator is amazing. It doesn’t leak or come blobbing out in a mess. The reason I had to buy super glue was because the lid was glued onto the full tube I bought last time so it became unusable.

That won’t happen with this one. It only squeezes out what you want to come out, and it’s not runny so it doesn’t get all around the applicator tip and lid. Every time you take the lid off, it looks like an unused tube.

Clean, controlled and precise application. Makes me want to walk around looking for stuff to fix.

Super thin can be a deadly glue to work with. This might not be a good glue for generic bonding, but it is great for stabilizing small materials, or even clear coating. This glue is also slightly more brittle than medium, so if there is flexibility in the glueing situation consider medium I recommend having a bottle of de-bonder near by.

Also using extender glue tips is recommended. If you glue your fingers don’t panic, CA glue does come off eventually n.

The Insta-cure worked just as advertised. Almost too good. You must be careful not to get any on your fingers or gloves because it almost instantly adheres and bonds making it difficult to unstick. I ripped my neoprene glove quite quickly and it was hard to get the bonded neoprene off my fingers.

Also the hole at the tip or cap would harden so fast that I had to stick a pin in the hole to get the liquid to flow again and almost couldn’t get the cap off because any overflow at the tip will bond to the cap.

So keep twisting the cap after capped to make sure it doesn’t bond in place right away.

This glue can be use in lots of projects. I use it to fix Motorcycle plastic covers. Wheels well in trailers, skis and many things more. In combination with the red one that is thicker you can work on every product using fiberglas, plastic, epoxy.

Two musts for using this super thin CA, a dropper like-Bob Smith Industries CA Regular Tip Applicator BSI321 BSI 321 sold here for 1. 29 or a glue looper like I ordered elsewhere online. If you are a novice with CA read online about safety precautions !.

Great glue. Used it for years on models and everything else around the house. So thin you assemble the pieces and squeeze it in between. It wicks into the crevices and bonds quickly. Good stuff!

This is the worst super glue I have ever tryed to use. The only thing it worked on was a piece of paper that I’d accidentally spilled a drop on and then set my project on. Even then it didn’t take much effort to remove ther paper.

Also the tiny nozzles don’t fit and neither does the little red cap to seal it. It’s too small.

After 15 years I’m back into aircraft plastic models. Read up on super glues before using. Insta-Cure is great used with caution. Place a drop or two on a small piece of masking tape and pick it up from there to instantly join two pieces together.

It stays liquid for 5 minutes on the tape but once applied to 2 parts together, it’s instant. If I need time to position pieces I glue with small amount of white glue, then later apply super glue for a very strong bond.

This stuff will instantly glue your fingers together. Be careful. P. S. – SUNWARD is the best!.

Using super thin ca glue as a wood turning finish. Easy to work with and can be polished to an exceptional smooth and shiny long lasting finish. Great product!!

I have now used this glue for several weeks working on my model trains. It is very easy to use. I apply it with a very thin wire and can control it very well this way. I really like how quickly it sets up and holds solidly.

I highly recommend this glue for modelers.

I used this to attach some frustrating plastic pieces where cement just wasn’t cutting it. Worked perfectly on the first try, and these pieces ain’t budging an inch! Super easy to use, it’s nice and thick which makes it easy to apply confidently.

The bottle is large and will hopefully last a long time. I’m crossing my fingers it doesn’t dry up inside too quickly once it’s been opened.

I use this when assembling my plastic scale model cars. Sometimes it sticks well, and sometimes it doesnt. Ive thought I had parts sufficiently glued together, only to have something come apart. CA seems to be a little tricky.

However, it is for the most part a great glue to use for model assembly. Less glue and less mess than model cement. DO NOT get this on clear parts such as windows and windshields. You cant get it off, and youll always be able to see the glue smudge!.

I use it with an accelerant takes seconds to cure for immediate use of whatever you glued. I cut my thumb up pretty bad, lol. wanted to go swimming so I glued it, 2 weeks later I cant find where I cut it.

I use it on wood, my tent, popsicle stick projects and things that would take too long to explain. Love it, saved me lots of $$ on repairing instead of replacing.

This product was great! Strong hold adhesive (in little time) that did the trick for sticking my brand new shiny letterbox to the UPVC front-door internally and externally. Nothing bad to say from my experience and only good things to tell you about this product.

Did exactly what was it’s intended purpose.

This glue solvent-welds two pieces of pvc or upvc. The two pieces must be kept close together and will take a few hours to fully harden, but it worked well on drainpipes and roof panels – even very firmly glued a upvc moulding to polycarbonate roof panel.

After much searching finally found the right product and size that is NOT industrial and expensive. Still more than enough to do the job of gluing pvc finishing strips after fitment of a new rear door.

I didn’t realise this glue said flexible until after I had glued the amulet (plastic to metal) back together. I had to put a book on it and leave it in the path of a fan heater for it to stick. The instructions say something quite different that didn’t really work for me but I’m just glad i found a way to make it happen as I had a client coming within the hour.

My method applying heat and pressure seemed to work well and it’s been a few weeks with no complaint so I would use 85 again and it was infinitely more effective than the superglue I tried with an earring last time.

The instructions clear and concise, all and any of my specific ‘glue problems’ were solved. A very excellent product.
