20 Best Glue For Acrylic (2022 Updated)

I ordered IPS Weld #16 instead oh #3 or #4 because I do not have the tools to produce two perfectly flat surfaces. I expected that @16 would fill the voids. I do not believe it did. I did not sand one of the plexiglass surfaces before gluing.

The glue did not penetrate that factory-smooth surface. I have a lot to learn about working with plexiglass.

Outstanding adhesive. I had to glue an acrylic sewing table for my wife that got broken in shipment. I followed directions for prepping the two pieces and put a piece of wax paper underneath. Lined everything up and applied a small ribbon of glue.

Left it sit for 24 hours and it turned out great, solid.

it has been really good at fixing different plastics in automotive and home, better then the stuff hardware stores have , Has a thick consistency works on pieces super glue wont dries crystal clear. Just have to let it set up 10 min or longer before moving piece.

It last a long time if you clean the cap threads and thread the cap on after use, My last tube lasted years.

I also purchased the activator however as a 1st time user I’m still struggling with how much glue to use as the activator is not working well at all. I would like to have short instructions on the bottle stating how much glue to use and how best to use the activator.

I expected the activator to cure the glue in minutes. Instead, 8hr later it’s still gummy.

this is a good product. Only problem there is no solvent. Once the bond works, there is no way to undo it. It is the strongest bond I have ever found as long as you don’t want to change your mind.

So far, so good. almost a year now. I used this to reattach my rearview mirror mounting plate (steel + copper composition) to the windshield. Followed the instructions and cleaned the metal surface with 2000-grit sandpaper, followed by IPA; cleaned the windshield with a razor blade and IPA.

Holds strong and I adjust my mirror daily! UPDATE – 2020 —————————————————– I’ve had the bond fail twice now over 4+ years (on the rearview mirror application). Both times seem linked to extreme temperatures (car left in 100F sun all day).

Each time I’ve reapplied it I’ve removed the old adhesive before rebonding the clean surfaces. However, my most recent bond seems to be stronger than before (surviving the extreme temp test that caused previous failures).

This time around I applied more of the spray component (it’s a two-part system).

I have tried them all and none have worked very long. I purchase 312 based on reviews and I am not disappointed. The mirror is still hanging on my windshield even in the hot Texas sun. Great product, easy to use, and it works.

I had a windshield replaced and whatever the glue was that they reattached the rearview mirror with would not hold. I tried a Perma Bond brand and it wouldn’t hold either. This was recommended to me by auto glass shop and it worked great!.

Does what it says it will do. I’m not using this glue to replace the usage Tite Bond III wood glue. I’ve been using epoxy and or super glue to attach metal military emblems to the wooden Urns I make.

Since the label says this will bond wood and metal, I thought I’d give it a try. It works nicely to bond the metal military emblems to the wood Urns. Was less hassle, and easier to clean up any excess glue squeeze out.

Outstanding. Drilled a small hole, and that was perfect. Directions should tell you that. Runs into small cracks. Takes a while to set up, but worth the wait.

While it advertises equivalency, I found the clear glue behaved rather differently than the white version. It does not seem to be quite as “permanent”, and parts of the surfaces let go after a few days with minimal force applied.

However, the fact that it expands less (does not “bubble”) and has no color do make the application a bit easier. This was used gluing plastic to glass.

The Prima Donna of glues strikes gold again with the clear gel tacky glue. Like all of Aleene’s other glues, this one sticks quickly, completely and smoothly. The clear gel has more body than the original Tacky Glue in the brown bottle and yet can be smoothed flat.

Works well with paper of all types and embellishments.

I was able to finish my cards projects with this glue. You need to be patient and careful when trying to glue different materials. I used it to make greeting cards with paper craft materials (i. e. gems).

It worked fine. I used a paper clip to unclog the tip (if needed). It takes some time to dry. It does warp the paper a bit, but it is not that bad. The finished project looked great.

A little disappointed. I was excited to try the clear because I have always used the original tacky glue. There must be a higher water content because it caused wrinkles and waves in my card stock. Worth a try.

I used this glue to fix my child plastic toy. It does seem to hold really well but I found it very hard to clamp for two hours unless it was just perfectly shaped fit in a clamp (it does say you can put it between to have a heaven things instead but that did not work for the toy I was fixing).

I was going to fix another toy with it too but it was impossible. There was no way to keep it clamped for two hours even between two heavy objects it was just the nature of the shape of that toy.

When using glue its always a concern when using if once it hardens it actually stays. The one thing I always know when it comes to Gorilla Glue is it’s made to work and work good. And this clear is not any less in strength than my expectations expected.

Now its the great original strength of Gorilla Glue just not seen, so can be used on crafts for extra protection.

Gorilla glue came in handy to put back together a broken picture frame. In less than 15 minutes, the glue dried and was as good as new. It’s been more than 10 days since the glue was applied to the frame and still holding up well.

This stuff works great for what I use it for. I didn’t realize it came with a metal seal under the lid. Just be prepared for that. It actually works for me once I thought about it. I drilled a hole big enough for the little paint brush I use to apply it.

First, the can was a real pain to open. I did not want to use a vise grip to open it at the risk of completely bending the can. Ended up using one of those rubber wrenches to get it to open. right after opening, then there is another metal cover you have to remove, which again, is impossible to remove.

Use an icepick to punch a hole and then pry it off. the weldon 4 works fine. takes a few minutes to set, so you have plenty of time to readjust your pieces if needed. The applicator bottle needle has no cover.

most other seller listings I see has a cover for the needle. If the needle is not covered and you have left over weldon in the bottle, it will just completely evaporate. So do not fill up the bottle more than you need to use.

Weld-On solvent cements are the best for joining acrylic pieces. Just follow the directions and you can’t go wrong. The can I purchased was fresh stock. Bonus booklet (download) and helpful videos (youtube) are included.

BE CAREFUL! The syringe needles supplied are the type with SHARP tips, not blunt tips. Always replace the plastic tip cover when you set the bottle down. These needles are the best for acrylic work, but they are hard to see and you could accidently poke yourself while reaching across your bench, if not covered.

Not for use by children.

This stuff works! I mean whoa. watch out or you’ll end up dangling from your roofline like I did. I forgot to close the cap, bottle knocked over and spilled a little where I was standing. cured while I worked.

I turn to leave, loose my balance cause my boots were stuck. glued to the roof! Thank God I leave my boots up tight.

I am new at woodworking and on a tight budget right now. I needed some good wood glue for a project I’m working on and decided to give this glue a try. I was pleasantly surprised about the strong bond between pieces of wood all of my wood joints are sound and tight.

Also it dries clear. I would certainly recommend the HFT Wood glue to anyone looking to save money on their wood projects. I’m happy with the results so far.

Needed glue for a few small gift projects. Gift card was down to $4. Gorilla was 4. 79 and HF was 3. 99! What a find! Glue was a bit thin, but might have been sitting on the shelf for awhile. This should last a bit of time, working on some projects, but good to have in hand.

I just tried this Weld-On #3 for the first time. I am very pleased with the results. I used it to bond some 1/4 inch plexiglass and the joints are pretty much invisble and look like they are as strong as the rest of the acrylic sheet.

The #3 has the about the same viscosity as water. It doesn’t smell bad at all. Actually kind of good. Application is simple with the supplied syringe and the help of capillary action. Just make sure not to use more than the joint can hold or it will run.

Sci-grip #3 definitely will help make your Acrylic project come out really nice. I recommend it. Plus I think it’s one of the only products like it. Home Depot sells plexiglass but nothing to bond it properly.

Don’t ever use superglue! It will look terrible compared to this stuff.

This is not really a glue. A minimal application of this product causes the two sides of plexi, lexan or pvc to fuse (melt) together withing about a minute. If enough bonding agent was used it will form a very strong connection.

if used on clear plexi and the edges are sanded smoothe the connection looks clear. If it gets on your hands it feels cold and dries in an instant leaving no residue or glue on fingers. It can not glue your fingers together.

excessive glue will cause dripping and may cause glue staining so dont use too much to make it drip.

I have been using Weld-On for many years on Acrylics and other Plastics and find it is the Best solvent cement on the market. In the instructions, It does what it sayes and you can count on its strength and holding ability.

This product is awesome when it come to fix hole and rips on rubber shoe soles like Vans sneakers. I do skateboard and doing tricks make the sneakers get shredded. I tried Shoe Goo which didn’t even stick well and come right off.

I tried Liquid Nails PG-00 next and it was great. Sticks very well and it really fused into like a part of the missing rubber part. Ever since that, I always use this product to repair my sneakers.

don’t buy this. It does not, not in any way set up in five minutes. I bought this because of the claimed set time. I was trying to glue wood to wood. I was prepared to hold the pieces together for five minutes waiting for glue to set and then be able to leave it alone.

No such luck I held it for a good 30 minutes and it still wasn’t set. This is not a good product at all.

I used this to repair my side view mirror on my car – the back painted part had cracked and fell off – would have cost $200+ to get a new one! I was able to repair it and it is hardly even noticeable! There is little to NO smell – easy to work with – clear – works fast – fantastic product I am going to try it on a small wooden bench next! I highly recommend this product!.

What a nice refresh on super glue! I tend to buy single use glues as the tip regularly gets clogged on larger size tubes and I lose the remaining contents. This was not the case with Gorilla’s Super Glue Ultra Control Gel.

I have now used it multiple times on various surfaces e. g. wood, ceramic, plastic and have not had an issue with blockages. Apart from its versatility, it is easy to apply, bonds instantly and it is strong enough to maintain that bond days later.

Notably, I glued a strip of wood under my stove that my toddler is constantly pulling off, he has since tried to remove it to no avail. This is now my go to for all future super glue projects.

First off, it oozes out of the tube every time you open it and drips, so you need to have something under it, and use it quickly, then wipe the tip so the lid doesn’t glue to it. 2nd, it does NOT set in 10 seconds and it’s no good for verticle surfaces unless you plan to sit there and hold it for several minutes.

Definitely not what I was looking for.

Strong, easy to apply and sensible packaging make this the best super glue. Don’t waste you time with cheap tubes with lids that never unscrew and tubes that break and go hard. This is very simple, easy to apply and when you need it you won’t have to mess about getting the cap off or finding it’s dried out like the traditional poor package stuff is.

The gel helps a lot with intricate jobs but depending what you intend to do you may also want to get the thinner traditional stuff with the brush application instead. Most jobs need precision and this gel is perfect.

I’m still surprised I didn’t need to wash my hands after using super glue!.

My main problem with super glue is that it dries up and goes to waste before I can use much. I don’t use it very often, so whenever I need it and grab a tube that I’ve already opened, it has inevitably dried out and now I have no super glue.

This two-pack is a perfect solution. Each one is fairly small with just a few uses in it, depending what you’re using it for, so even if I don’t use it for a year and it does dry out, I’m not wasting a ton.

And there’s a second small, unopened tube that I already have on hand. The Loctite brand super glue seems to be very strong and dries completely clear, and set pretty quickly so I wasn’t holding my materials together for a long time waiting for the glue to hold.

This glue dries quickly and has a very strong hold. I like the combination of it being a gel glue and has a point tip to repair delicate items is just such a breeze to do. It bonds securely and dries rather quickly.

Having it being a gel helps in dispersing a drop at a time instead of a stream like other brands. You have control of using a little or a lot. Use on metal, wood, porcelain etc. Great for fixing/repairing items or doing crafts.

Nice to keep a tube or two on hand in a drawer for easy reach when needing to fix something in a hurry! Definitely the go to gel glue as it is reliable and fail safe!.

LocTite Gel Super Glue is the best super glue that i have used. I love that the gel stays right where I place it. It doesn’t drip or run. It can be used on multiple surfaces including most plastics. It is perfect for my crafting projects where the items i am gluing are vertical.

It bonds quickly and holds tight. A little drop goes a long way with this gel super glue. I’ve made the switch to LocTite Gel. It makes my projects so much easier and neater. It doesn’t drip where I don’t need it and stays right where I do.

I love it.

Just started to use this on larger section of PE, very easy to use and sticks well. For large fender sections I apply the acrylic glue to both sides and clamp down, leaving it a few hours to cure. Any excess that has dried can be removed with IPA, though be careful not to use too much otherwise the edges can come unstuck.

Really like this glue, and has had many uses in the last couple of weeks apart from the PE parts that it was purchased for. Definitely nowhere near as ‘rubbery’ as PVA but does give some shock absorption.

I bought this to glue photoetch on my 1/200 ships. I usually use ca glue but it dries real fast and does not allow for time to position parts The mig glue worked great, allowed for time to dry but still held the parts in place Great product.

This epoxy is absolutely awesome. My grandson has many hard plastic toys that get broken often. This epoxy has worked without failure. He has one toy gun in particular that he has broken three different times.

The plastic joints fixed by this epoxy have never failed. The latest item fixed by this epoxy was a driver side rear view mirror on my neighbors car that had been severely broken in many places. This was a real test of this epoxy because of the amount of weight on the repaired joints and the fact that the car was being driven daily to and from work.

After five days, it is still holding until the insurance authorizes the repairs. This is absolutely the best plastic adhesive that I have every used.

This product does exactly as described and is easy to install. Hands are attractive and stand out. Good value for money.

I got a foam headliner from a junkyard out of a vehicle that was rolled. Needless to say that the headliner had several breaks in it but it was the only one I could find after 3 separate trips to the junkyard looking for one, and it was in better condition than the one that my truck was missing.

I used this epoxy to hold the headliner back together and it worked flawlessly.

Had a piece of hard plastic toy lying around for ages that has had several attempt with superglue fail. So pleased it is finally fixed! Easy to use. Even for impatiently forgot to wait three minutes on one piece it still holding together well.

This glue was good, but it does tend to pour out a little when you’ve finished between uses. And leaves a bit if a string as you pull away. But I’m confident it’s stuck well! So it was good for exactly what I needed it for!.

I found that the glue was very runny, and hard to control. The nozzle has a large hole so when used to glue it seems impossible to apply small dots of glue in a situation like glueing a model together.

Not easy!.
