20 Best Glue For Boots (2022 Updated)

5/2021: I’ve been using Boot-Fix for at least 3 or 4 years with excellent results. E. g. , on separated shoe soles and on sandal straps that have pulled out, it makes a permanent, waterproof repair. I just used it to attach Duck tape beneath my 2017 Accord (it would not attach by itself to the rubber spash guard); then brought the Duck tape up to fasten the front bumper back into original shape; it had sprung out 8″ due to my hitting a high curb (I then painted the tape with my car’s color).

I have used it on repairs to small parts on an expensive cello. Repaired broken hair berretts; broken piece of a ’07 Accord Glove box (saving $200); the handle on a favorite standard ceramic coffee cup; broken pots; spines on a book, etc.

Just remember, it’s a must to hold or press the joined pieces together for 75-120 seconds without them moving. It’s expensive compared to other named glues, but darn well worth it.

Best boot & shoe repair glue available of those I’ve tried. The glue applicator makes it easy to apply & it always works as described, better even! Also appreciated the included suggestion to store in your refrigerator between uses to extend shelf life.

The leather on my shoes had detached from the sole in the side. At first I tried ordinary two-component glue which didn’t last more than a couple of days. Found this from favorable reviews and after a few months have to say I’m impressed at how durable and elastic this glue is.

Easy to apply as well, doesn’t require pressing the two parts together to bond well. Highly recommended for leather shoes, boots and belts.

I have no idea how I came across this product years ago, but it’s incredible! I’ve used it countless time to fix my own shoes, and I’ve gotten my coworkers obsessed. As a teacher I’m on my feet a lot, and good comfy, professional looking shoes are hard to come by, and when you find the perfect pair I use this product to keep them lasting longer! One of my coworkers was about to throw Out this beautiful pair of sandals because in insole kept peeling back and just irritating her.

I asked her if I could try fixing them first and used this product to keep the insole in her shoe! I’ve used it to glue down the insoles of my childrens’ shoes so that it didn’t come out when my son yanks his feet out.

I have used Shoe Goo for decades for restoring the worn or loosened soles on my walking shoes and hiking boots. Black Shoe Goo is better-looking on black soles than clear Shoe Goo. The Goo always adheres perfectly with no special preparation to the sole.

I apply blue painter’s tape around the edge of the sole to give a nice square edge. The tape comes off best if removed between one to two hours time. The Goo wears more quickly than original sole material, but it’s reasonably durable.

It does leave big scuff marks on vinyl flooring. I remove these by standing on the scuff marks with an old terry wash cloth or towel underfoot and doing the “twist” with all of my weight on one foot.

I prefer this to using solvents like Goof Off, which also work. Zoro shipped the Shoe Goo to me the next day. That’s fast! I had a web site ordering glitch and had to call customer service to stop accidental multiple orders.

The service rep was very helpful, even contacting PayPal to stop multiple charges to my PayPal account.

I fixed my military boots with this and made them last longer than just buying new ones, i spent $25 dollars with professional boot repair and they came off in 1 week or less. These still last to this day it has been like 7 months and still have not come apart.

I recommend to leave to dry for like in total 7 days to let the inside of the core where it has glue. Use the glue to be spread in a big area of the shoe and squash it like a sloppy Joe to spread apart.

Evenly be carefully to get on hands it is stronger than regular superglue. I recommend to leave in refrigerator when not in use.

This glue is everything it is described to be. I bought and glued an old yet comfortable pair of golf shoes that I was hoping to get one more year out of. Following the directions, the glue worked as described, gluing the loose parts of the soles and spikes.

The test was 7 straight days of golf. The shoes performed as new. The glue worked as intended, glued the parts together while retaining flexibility. I now don’t have to worry about replacing my golf shoes for another year or two.

Used it to repair ankle trainer type walking boots; toe and front of sole had all become detached. Glued the sole and held fast with duct tape for 48 hours, then did the same with the toe which covered the front of the boot.

48 hours later my wife went for a walk in the rain and the boots were as sound as the day they were bought. Duct tape may seem extreme, but it was the first thing that came to hand when I wanted to hold the fix in place.

Bottom line is that it does the job 100%, and I would highly recommend. I bought this size tube in anticipation of needing a fair bit for the repair in hand but the amount needed is much less than expected and I now have an excellent go-to should the family have a similar problem.

This item needs a review request in 6 months – 2 years, Not within two weeks or a month. It does work for temporary fixes and has held up for a month. More permanent repair needs more time, variance of exposure, and more usage to adequately review.

I have a pair of old running shoes that I barely used. I wanted to pull them out and use them again but the bottoms came almost completely off because the glue was old. I tried other glues but they were too stiff and didn’t hold.

I do a lot of leatherwork. This contact cement works great to create strong permanent bonds holding leather layers together. It is especially useful to hold the leather pieces in place prior to stitching and/or riveting.

Of all the different adhesives I have used in the past 55 years, this is the best. I was a woodworker all my life and used this in many ways in my wood shop where other glues would not have worked. I always coated twice on the wood before I put things together.

I Used this to re stick the soles of my shoes that had come lose. Cleaned both surface thoroughly,removing old glue, then using sandpaper to key the surface. Applied glue to both surface then waited for the glue to dry.

Having used contact glues professionally, it is important to make sure the glue is dry before you apply the two surfaces together. Pressed soles to shoes and clamped edge of soles with spring cramps and left for 24 hours.

Worn several times since repair as good as new and no problems so far.

This cement is the truth!! After a investigation of several products for shoe repair, I wanted something that would work efficient and still be able to store some away, if this event was ever to occur Again. This Product did the job, dries fast , flexible and was easy to use with the brush applicator top cap.

I was extremely happy with the results. Dried Fast in Cold weather as well. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to repair shoes of any kind. Do Not Allow to dry in a invented room or a room with people present.

Quite Strong odor during the curing process, but oderless when dry.

My purchase was based on researching some internet reviews. It works as long as instructions are followed. Was able to glue a delaminated rubber sole from the upper assembly of my wife’s shoe. I uploaded a photo of the glue on my Facebook page and a friend who saw the photo informed tha he used this glue in high school in the early 1970’s to fix his tennis shoes.

Clean the nozzle and wipe a thin coat of petroleum jelly on the threads of the nozzle to prevent seizure of the cap to the nozzle. The glue is recommended if the material of your footwear is compatible.

Rubber to rubber it did not work. There is a product that they recommend using – rubber solution, before applying the cement. This product was another $30+ and the amount I needed to do did not warrant this added expense.

May have been the entire issue so if going rubber to rubber, be aware that you will spend twice the money. Again may have been my fault entirely so product itself may still be good.

This glue works very efficiently, definitely is what’s marketed. The only problem I had is the drying process. You need to clamp whatever you’re glueing down very good and leave it dry for a full 24 hours to get the best finished product.

We had several pairs of running shoes, sandals, and boots that were in need of repairs and Loctite shoe glue has been an ideal solution for our repair needs. I was drawn to this particular glue, because it claims to provide a long-lasting repair and to hold up in all weather condition.

For some of the smaller repairs, I used some rubberbands and heavy weight on the shoe for about 1. 5 days. Thus far, no additional repairs have been needed and most of the footwear has been worn in a combination of warm, cold and wet conditions.

My favorite feature is that all of the repaired footwear has remained flexible. My son’s shoes had the front half of his soles unglue on his newer sneakers and at first I was going to toss the shoes, but I decided to use this shoe glue first.

I used a larger volume of glue for these soles, and then I used several clamps on the shoes to get a firm hold for the soles. I left the clamps for a few days, and when I pulled them off, the sneakers were in one piece and holding.

My son has used the sneakers for daily use, but not heavy use, and they have held up. The sneakers do not appear that they are going to lose adhesion anytime soon. I am very happy with the shoe glue.

Keep in mind that a little goes a long way. We had 7 pieces of footwear to be glued and have nearly used the entire 20g tube. Of course, for larger repairs, a tube would not last as long as it would for smaller repairs, so I would put a conservative estimate per tube at 2-3 pair of footwear able to be repaired.

i bought this product a month ago and it got delivered on time. I ordered this to hopefully repair my favorite Boots when the sole fell off. I lost all hopes that i can wear these pair of boots again, but i tried a thin layer because I didn’t want it to get all over the shoe even I squeezed it together and can’t believe how well it worked.

I am very happy with this product. I have repaired several different types of footwear, from hiking boots to sandals and the results of this glue are incredible. It holds firm and flexes and supplied in enough glue to perform multiple repairs.

I will definitely be purchasing more when needed.

I had a favorite pair of hiking boots that would have cost a fortune to resole. Most repair places wouldn’t even do the job. I bought this stuff after a lot of online research for a product that I could repair them on my own.

Despite being smelly, sticky and slightly runny, this product did way better than expected. I flipped over my boots and levelled them off. Then taped the edges to keep the product on the sole where it was worn and cracked.

I put some rice on the product after I felt it was thick enough. (rice wears off leaving some grip) It took a couple of days to cure completely (was on quite thick). I am beyond happy with the results.

It is durable and stays flexible. Downside is that if you don’t use it up the lid glues on and you might get a second use it you cut it open. It’s also a challenge to apply. I used toothpicks and small bits of cardboard to slather it on.

Upside it that it also repaired my rain jacket seams beautifully. I saved a lot of money and get to keep wearing my favorite boots!.

You can use this to get a few more years out of your favourite footwear if you take care in the application: clean everything thoroughly, make sure everything is dry, apply generously, clamp well, and leave alone for 12-24 hours.

I have been using it for years. Keep unused portions in the freezer to prevent it from drying out.

Not only does the Sof Sole Shoe Goo have a name that sticks in your mind, it also does a fantastic job with sticking soles back to their normal resting place. The shoo goo worked flawlessly. No more tripping myself up when the sole catches on uneven pavers, pose floorboards or small children.

I mostly wear light boots with a sneaker-type sole, which only tend to last me 1-2 years. When the tough rubber outer layer has worn through, the underlying soft, spongy layer goes really fast, and also leaks water.

So Im really glad I found Shoe Goo. I took my two-year old boots, the heels of which were worn well into the soft layer. I first applied a 4-5 thin layers (which was surprisingly easy especially when I used the ice cube trick for smoothing).

Having found that the stuff really does seem to stick in place when the boots are in use, I added almost the rest of the 3. 7 oz tube of Shoe Goo. The outer edges of the heels are still a bit lower than new, but the boots are now perfectly usable again, and will hopefully be for several months.

More important, I’m going to patch new boots before the outer layer wears through. The only drawback is the fumes when you apply a lot of this stuff at once; you really need to air the room if doing it indoors.

This glue is NOT like other glues. You know, like the ones that you find at home improvement centers you THINK are going to work, but don’t? Shoe goo was my last resort to fixing the soles on a newly-purchased (but at discounted price) Clarks sandals.

I was so angry that the soles came undone on the first day I wore them, that I drove them back to the store from which they came. What really bothered me was that these particular sandals were one-of-a-kind in my hard-to-find shoe size and had been discontinued, or would have cost more money to buy from a specialty store.

Put it on my worn out leather Chanel espadrilles last night (the leather was separating from the sole on the side) and woke up to perfect shoes. I stuffed the shoe with paper towels, applied the goo to the separation/hole, and then wrapped the outside in a paper towel and wrapped elastic bands around it to keep the part where i put the goo pressed tightly together.

Woke up this morning to practically brand new shoes! works great. hopefully it will last with wear but I’m happy with the short term result. My skateboarder friend told me to get this stuff, and I’m so happy he did because my shoes look great!.

Pro perfect amount to fix a worn heel or single use application on rubber and plastic ideal for 1 inch small repair. Con not enough to fix a large repair over two inch circle. Shoe goo is a product that once opened, it begins to cure and an entire tube is worthless outside a week.

These small tubes solve that problem, so you can prevent throwing away a large tube.

You tube videos were a waste on how to use shoo goo. I got some small cheap brushes and applied shoo goo in between the rubber and material all around the bottom where it had come apart. I held it together with my fingers for 20 seconds or so.

It held after that. I left it untouched for 24 hours and it held the fix. I saved myself having to buy two new pair of shoes for her. She was satisfied with the results and I was overjoyed!.

i use this for everything! never used on shoes before but have used it for everything that you would typically use a hot glue gun for. it is essentially hot glue without being hot. squirts out like cool hot glue and hardens hardens up within a few minutes just like hot glue.

My kids were really tough on soccer cleats. and I used this regularly for repairs. I saved hundreds of dollars fixing cleats instead of replacing them. I used to secure loose soles and also to repair leather tears or worn spots.

I repaired the shoes with metal thread and then covered the thread with Shoe Goo. I also coated the toe area that would wear through the leather.

A product the lives up to its name. I’ve spent the last week repairing broken items and glueing things to other things to test the hold. Results? Impressive. The curing time is not for people with gratification issues.

But the wait is worth the results. Glasses? Repaired. Trim on a shelf? Repaired. Random kid’s toy glued to my book shelf? New coat hook.

Gorilla original glue has been a big life (and money) saver for my family. I deal with a lot of fragile things pretty much every day and gorilla glue has been my saviour. It practically can glue pretty much anything and everything! Very easy to use and it gives very quick results.

It is waterproof, so you could potentially use it for things like garden chairs, pots, etc. It is very versatile can be used on wood, metal, ceramic/glass, etc. I would highly recommend keeping this handy, even if you don’t need it at this moment.

Do not purchase – buy anything else. You well get better bonding from elmers glue, or even an elementary school gluestick. The strength of the adhesive is laughable, and on the bottle it says cure in 10-45 seconds which is totally inaccurate.

At best it STARTS to cure in 10-45 minutes, but will still be gummy and without structure for two or more hours. I bought it thinking it would be of similar quality to regular gorilla glue used in woodworking – but their superglue must have been designed by someone’s toddler.

I use this glue, to build my plastic models, because of the brush option, that is included with this glue, along with a dropper option! The brush, makes it very easy and convenient, to apply the glue, to small plastic parts! It drys very quickly, which makes it very convenient, that way, you don’t have to hold the part together as long, as with regular glue! The only reason that I don’t give it 5 stars, is because, when you brush off the excess glue at the opening, the excess glue collects at the opening of the bottle and eventually globs up with excess glue, making a mess!.

So, Gorilla Glue. I knew this would be strong as the name carries weight. What I didnt know, however, was quite how strong it was. I originally bought this to fix my shoes, the sole had come away from one of them.

Little did I realise that later on, hilarity would ensue. Left out in the open, my housemates took it upon themselves to dispose of an old pan by gluing it to a door. We knew itd hold well but this pan DOES NOT BUDGE.

It is fixed there, like a singular point in time. Unmoving. Eternal. Gorilla Glue is fantastic. Everyone should buy some just to have it around.

I managed to repair the soles of my Dr Martens which had split right across the width – new soles through a cobbler would have been £60, nearly as much as a new pair of DMs! Now they are watertight and almost good as new.

Also worked well to repair the canvas upper on Converse and small holes in the soles too. Great value and great for keeping old shoes out of landfill.

Very good shoe glue. I’ve used it to repair Caterpillar worker boots and trainer shoes, worked well in both cases. Settles within 24 hours and holds very strongly. I’m not sure about how long it will last – I’ll see that after few months of use at least, but I expect it will last long.

Bonus is that it doesn’t really stink, so I don’t have to go outside the house when working with it. Some glues can have a very strong chemical stench that is hard to ventilate away after work.
