20 Best Glue For Car (2022 Updated)

Was trying to bond a couple of loose pieces inside the door of my vehicle. Cleaned and degreased the parts and applied the Goop; and applied the Goop; and applied the Goop. Has the consistency of thick oil.

Just kept running and running out of the area that I wanted it to stay in. The space is 1/16 inch or less. Have today added 2 more amounts and am waiting to see if it will bond to itself. Looks like it might.

Should have purchased some caulking like material which is what I thought this was.

This product adheres very well. I used it to rejoin the outer edge of the driver’s seat (side and bottom leather cushion). This is a stress area. I did not need to heat the Goop or have anything else with it.

As is usual, there is a lot left over after the car application so I used some on a pair of slippers with the sole and upper detached. And the on a pair of runners – same problem. The Goop has held even though I have used the runners in the sea.

It’s good for fixing some little things around the house. Fixed some toys, a truck nightlight. It failed when I tried it on objects exposed to vibration like a fan cover in a trailer or certain 7. It takes paint well whether you mix it with before applying or paint if after so easy to blend with surrounding colors.

It is easy to come off the fingers. It is kinda stringy when you get it out of tube so can be messy to work with.

Best glue ever I use it for crafts and repairs. Great indoor or outside projects. I even use it for clothes. I have used it to glue on patches on my jeans and also instead of measles/thread for hemming my pants.

Both going thru several wash/dry cycles and still holding. I always keep a tube on. hand.

This flexible adhesive is useful for almost any job around the house. It stays flexible for years. I always keep a tube around.

works great! I use it for jewelry, crafts & heavy objects. So far so issues, but do recommend checking your crafts stores for it. Must cheaper I learned, bought on amazon small bottles. Then bought on her thinking for the big one was a great deal.

Then later on learned that it was half the price in my local craft store. O well, still a great product to use over hot glue gun n super glue!.

Great product when you follow the directions. I was doing a headliner in a 04 Ford Ranger. It was a new headliner I purchased from AutoZone. Well, being a know it all, I rushed through the steps and reinstalled it.

BAD move! The adhesive did not bond correctly. Second time around, I followed the directions! NIGHT AND DAY! Make sure you are in a cool environment. In the AZ heat is not a good idea. Spray on and let it sit for 5 minutes before continuing and then let the finished item sit for 24 hours to properly cure.

Great product and I would highly recommend, IF YOU FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!.

The very first time I went to this store in Rocky Mount, Va. , the girl salesperson was SO rude that I swore id never go back there. That was 3 years ago! So, now its 2021, pretty much post-covid. I needed something and this is the only store nearby that had it in stocks.

I took a chance, ordered on-line (because I got a 20% discount doing it that way) and went into the store to pick it up. I was acknowledged immediately and treated well. All in all, my recent experience was wonderful.

I didn’t the rude employee that day and will definitely shop there in the future. The product i purchased worked very well, and I’m very happy 😊.

After a lot of research, this adhesive came out on top for headliners. I have used 3M 45 for another project, and it honestly feels about as strong, but the consistency is very different. This comes out as a foamy web.

3M is like a clear spray paint. Maybe this handles heat better? Either way, my DIY headliner came out very nice for a non professional job. Be careful to protect the finished side if you are spraying both surfaces.

I used just uno the second can for my coupe.

Waste of money for me. If you like yellow that doesn’t blend in with trim then this is for you. Also without a cap that can be screwed on to apply this in a bead or line makes this a huge sticky mess.

Not happy and going to have to get some black adhesive somewhere else today because I need to fix my weatherstripping.

I love the size of this tube. It’s small enough that I don’t waste a lot if I have some leftover but big enough to get the job done. I’m use to using 3m in a large tube and it is good for large jobs but this works as good and is easier to use due to the smaller size tube.

I will be getting me some more of this great product.

I purchased this to re-attach a weather strip on a hatch on my boat. I’ve used this product for 20 years when I was in the automotive repair trade so I know it works. The secret (as in the instructions) is to apply it to both sides and let both get tacky before pressing them together.

If you do this you won’t be disappointed.

Used the product on affix dual plastic emblems to a boat. Two months later I discovered a rust/yellowish ooze had wept its way out and is now fully adhered to the white gelcoat. The surface was cleaned with acetone prior and applied indoors at approximately 75 degrees.

It’s high viscosity made applying quite challenging and was compounded by aggresively seting within 10 seconds into a even thicker mess. 3M was chosen from brand confidence and as this was a restoration for a customer, I didn’t want to risk my reputation over something so amateurish as screwing up a simple, yet essential asthetic.

I’m sure this product in general is most likely very good, but for this job it did not perform well.

I have used 3M Super Trim adhesive for years and found that it works well when used as directed. When applied to both surfaces and left for about 10 minutes, until it gets tacky, it grabs very well and holds.

It is important to be careful that the items being glued are positioned where you want them. Once the items are joined they do not separate easily, if the are bonded for any length of time it is more difficult to separate them.

In my opinion the 3M 08090 trim adhesive is the best to use for strength. I have used others, including 3M 08088 general trim adhesive, and they do not bond as strongly. The others are OK for light duty work or for bonding surfaces that are not subject to stress like flat laying carpet in the rear of a 2+2 mustang.

It is a bit expensive, however I find that not having to do a job twice or damaging something by using a less expensive adhesive makes the cost worth it.

This is the quality brand to buy in my opinion. This spray needs to be used in a well ventilated area like your garage with the door open or even outside. The fumes are very strong, but this spray really sticks.

I use it for quilt backs to batting and then to the front which is much easier than crawling around on the floor. You can adhere things for upholstery also. A good product that works.

This 08115 will bond just about anything together, great for metals, plastics, wood, and about anything you want to bond. Best to allow it to dry overnight, however once applied, if the product is out in the direct sunlight, it will harden to usable strength in about 4 to 5 hours.

Great stuff. relative to automotive repair, I have put on roof panels, bedside panels on pick up trucks, and “continuous bond” is stronger than spot welds, and also there is no bare metal in between panels like when a panel is spot or plug welded in place.

I have used it to fill pinholes in metal after sandblasting and there was rust-through. This product is not like body filler that will pop out with rust again.

I have a Husky chainsaw that the fuel tank seam leaked. I came across a chain website and one guy swore on this product so it is a bit pricey but I bought some. I use a dowel to squeeze out the two tunes and mixed manually, applied to the seam giving it a day to harden.

I am a fixer ( perhaps a maker by current standards) all my life and used a lot of products to effect repairs. I can say without doubt this is the best bonding agent I have ever used. If you prep the bonded areas this is not coming apart.

This stuff is an old car owner’s best kept secret! I have a 95 Eclipse that I love dearly, but the sideskirts staying up are a known devil of a problem. Even after buying oem everything and reapplying all the fasteners, they still fell after a year, they just snap off.

So after some digging on the forums, someone suggested this, and I had to give it a go. I will warn, the application gun needed is just as expensive, so borrow one if you can, like I did from a local shop.

But this is the end solution to trim pieces that just refuse to be held in by retainers alone. Something I will always keep in my tool box from now on!.

I used this to restore a thread that had been pretty well stripped. I have two bolts that hold my motorcycle radiator cowl in place. The thread stripped in one of the bolt holes and instead of heli-coiling the hole,i used the Permatex Steel Weld (it states on the pack it can be threaded).

I did this in the following way:- Applied a releasing agent to the bolt thread (i used good old olive oil-worked a treat) mixed the epoxy and applied a generous amount to the bolt and also pushed some into the bolt hole.

Screwed the bolt in slowly (was a tiny bit of thread left) and let the epoxy cure for 15mins before SLOWLY unscrewing the bolt. the olive oil allowed the bolt to release from the epoxy quite easily. I then just left the repair (new thread) to dry for 24hrs and HEY PRESTO.

It worked a treat : ) Just be aware that the above repair was done on a fairly low torque thread (attaching plastic cowls to the side of a radiator). Im not sure how it would go on a higher torque thread? The Permatex Steel Weld Epoxy worked for me so im happy with my purchase.

I used this epoxy to repair an external hairline crack in an aluminum engine block that was seeping coolant. After using a grinder disk to prepare the surface, I applied this epoxy over the crack and allowed it to cure for about 4 hours.

Then I applied a different epoxy over that and alert it cure for 24 hours. Just to be thorough, I used a block sealer internally added to the coolant. Time will tell, but it’s been 2 weeks and no leaking.

I’m satisfied that even if the leak returns, this product is not to blame. It cured hard and fast and seemed to fill the crack sufficiently.

I’m a steel worker and primarily work on steel bridges. It’s not uncommon to find cracks in load bearing joints which would normally cost millions of dollars to repair, not to mention the disruption in traffic.

With this stuff I simply fill in the cracks and within a few minutes it hardens and you’d never know a crack was there to begin with. Of course I still bill the city for several thousand dollars for the repair.

Bought this to carry out a repair on the embellisher on a lotus headlight. It’s the typical low quality plastic that is known for easily cracking when even a small force is applied. This plastic is called PPO and research seemingly says it’s hard to find an adhesive that will work successfully.

As it turned out I used a pretty standard rapid epoxy to bond an aluminium strengthener and it worked well. This plastic bonder was excellent when it came to building up the missing sections of plastic that made a bridge over the aluminium section.

Easy to dispense and mix, this is also easy to apply. Building up a decent amount wasn’t too difficult, it can move with gravity but after a few minutes it has stabilized. It has bonded extremely well to both the plastic and also the aluminium I used.

Big bonus is this is black in colour so matches the original colour, unlike the previous owners attempts with glass fibre which were stand out red! New embellishers are 550 pounds plus vat, so this product, along with a couple of other items adding up to 30 pounds, have created a far stronger product.

Rough up the areas you want to glue together and remove any dust from the sanding. Apply glue to both parts and clamp together. Add a little more glue to the crack. It will start setting up in about 15 minutes.

Let it harden for a full 24 hours. Any extra you added can be filed or sanded off if you don’t like the look. I used it on a plastic lawn chair and I weigh 250 lbs. and it didn’t come apart. Very strong tough stuff.

I highly recommend this product.

Great product, many uses, best price here. Small size has both advantages and disadvantages, but great for most smaller projects. Sands well, can be shaped when set. Easier to get into tight spots with static mixer than larger panel bond applicators.

When you patent a reusable static mixer, you’ve hit a gold mine.

Bought this as replacement glue for a tyre repair kit that I had. Worked a treat, have used it to repair other items and it worked very well. Good for when the glue needs a little flexibility.

Worked perfectly for gluing VS Commodore door seals rubbers to backing. Repair matches OEM appearance. Is quite runny so is best applied with a tool to avoid any mess.

It’s OK but no more adhesive than others. Was hoping this would be some sort of super rugged contact cement but while it works fine, it is no better than say Weldwood general purpose contact cement. So it a fine product in it’s own right but my expectations may have overshot what it does.

I finally used some hi end black weatherstripping adhesive which while ugly did a better job of holding 1/16″ neoprene sheet to metal.

I have tried other glues and there is nothing that comes close to super glue. The others take too long to cure and usually break back open. So I was happy to be able to buy a case of the original super glue.

This is the only way I buy Super Glue anymore. The small tubes usually match the amount I need to perform a repair and I don’t need to worry about the nozzle drying out. Although, the tubes do have good sealing, I wouldn’t want to rely on it for more than a couple of applications.

Any larger tube is going to go to waste after a few uses.

I’ve wasted a lot of money on “so called” super glues. only to end up throwing money away and having to return to the store for something that REALLY WORKS!!! Well search no longer!! This is the “ONE” that really works hands down!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seals immediately and stays sealed.

The directions on the tube says to use a primer. Depending on the substrate you’re applying the adhesive to, it probably is not necessary. We used the adhesive to re-mount a skid-steer windshield on it’s metal frame.

This windshield is on hinges. It’s not stationary like most windshields. The vast majority of the original adhesive had been removed. What was still on the frame was a very thin film. Since the original adhesive was so well bonded to the metal, it was not a worry to apply over it.

Be sure to have enough adhesive on hand since once you start the application if you run short, you won’t have time to go get more. The adhesive does allow enough time to apply and set the glass. You should have at least two people to properly align the glass when you set it in the adhesive.

It was easy for our installation because we were able to have the frame on a bench and the installation of the glass did not have to be set at an angle like it would be if the glass was being installed on a vehicle.

We followed the directions and did a dry fit prior to applying adhesive. Take note of the margins around your glass when you dry fit so you can set the glass on the adhesive and not have to move it much.

You can slide it a little once it’s set in the adhesive to get it right where you want it. We allowed 3 days before picking up the windshield and hanging it back on the skid-steer. The product worked well and I would buy it again, but I hope the windshield doesn’t get broken again.

On my 2013 Chevy Tahoe, the front door padded handles have a tendency to breakdown internally after years of use. The original piece of internal plastic that creates the rigidity in the handle will eventually break/crack.

Without that rigid plastic piece, the top portion of the handle becomes easy to stretch and peel back, so you can then add back the needed rigidity. I peeled back the foam handle and cleaned out the broken/cracked plastic inside the handle.

Next added some 3M product into into the bottom of the slot where the plastic was. Then inserted an 8 inch x 1/4 dia. steel rod on top of the bottom layer of 3M. Then carefully covered the steel rod with a top layer of the 3M urethane and let it dry overnight.

Success! A YouTube video only used the 3M urethane and for that user it created enough rigidity. My steel rod addition was round and had no sharp corners and was locked inside the 3M urethane and very rigid.

Great Stuff II.

The price is outrageous at first, when compared to similar adhesives. But if you want your window in to where it just won’t come out, and seals against water better than any single other product out there, this is the tube for you.

There’s enough sealant here to install 2 windshields if you get the bead right. Allow 24 hours to cure. I tested this on a junker Saturn parts car, and it took 3 times longer to cut this sealant out than it did the factory sealant.

The bond is almost magnetic. It was well worth the money I paid compared to Safelite’s install quote and just as good a repair (if not better, thanks to this).

Great weatherstrip Adhesive. Did a great job at keeping the weatherstrip adhesive on my vehicle down. Hasn’t come back up since. Great product!

Just remember to apply the adhesive in a warm temp. And you may want to mask off the area your working and wear gloves

I tried this on a plastic washing basket and on a handle. Tried 3 times and even clamped the jobs on my third attempt It stuck well to my fingers but didnt even look like sticking to anything else. I rated 1 because there is no zero.

Both exactly what I needed. Mesh was invaluable for out west where flies were dense.

Great prod., very strong adhesion

The 3M product is an acrylic glue which sets quickly but with enough time to set the surfaces up. It comes with the glue and an accelerator. It works with plastic, vinyl and cloth. I have not tried metal.

With the pieces it tolerates some sheering force but is not supple when set. So if you place pressure and the surfaces are rigid the pieces can come apart with the glue left on each surface. Overall a great product, might be on the higher side but for my automotive use it was the cheapest available option apart from using epoxy with guns that cost 10 times more when everything is totaled.

This stuff is amazing. It bonds instantly. This is my third time buying this adhesive. Would give it ten stars.

This glue is awesome. but very dangerous in the hands of a little one. Super fast drying and hardens like a rock after adding additive. But be aware this will this weld your finger together in less than a second.

I bought this to stick an emblem on a car. The previous owner had debadged it. I was a little heavy handed and some adhesive smeared to the sides. To clean this up, I tried 3M’s adhesive remover to no-avail.

Later I was told by a customer service rep that this is permanent and the only way (possibly) would be to use a razor or sand it. This is completely unreasonable. Doing so would almost certainly damage the paint.

And getting the panel repainted would leave me with a 4 figure repair bill. Most such adhesives are able to be removed chemically. If this is such a strong adhesives it should be clearly stated or mentioned that it is only for professional use.

I would strongly discourage anyone from using this. 3M itself makes tape that is much more user friendly and less potentially damaging.

I bought this product to reattach emblems to my car. Long story short, it attached them to my car extremely well which is great because the product does what it is supposed to very well. However, my only complaint seems kind of silly but if you ever want to remove your emblems to paint them or just de-badge your car.

good luck getting them off. The reason I think this is an issue is because there isn’t really a need to make the glue so strong. The original adhesive tape (3M Molding Tape) that holds the emblems on lasted 14 years and it will actually come off your car if you ever need to remove it.

In conclusion, I can’t give this product a great review because there is no use for it on your car trim when 3M sells better adhesive tape for trim (3M Molding Tape). However, I can’t give it a bad review because it does exactly what its meant to do.

I print TPU filament and have found that there is not much out there that will bond it together. Just by luck I had a bit of this left over from sticking my dash together on my 1995 BMW 318i and I thought.

will it stick TPU and the answer is yes. Doesn’t quite dissolve the plastic, but it does eat into it enough that after 24 hours, the two pieces do not come apart at the seams. What is TPU. it’s Thermoplastic PolyUrethane.

Why only 4 stars. because I think that everything can be made better.

I’ve had success with Flex Tape products in the past, but hadn’t tried their glue formula until recently. What took me so long? There’s so much to love. Application is easy, using a caulk applicator.

I was impressed with the viscosity of this glue. It stays put, and doesn’t drip or run. It helped me repair one of the original windows to my home, dating back to 1950, which had a broken glass pane.

I was able to set it in place in the garage (always be aware of off-gassing in adhesive products and use in a well-ventilated area), and within a few minutes, it was firmly in place. It’s recommended to work quickly, as it won’t move much, if at all, 10 minutes after application.

Still, I let it sit for a week to fully cure, and installed it into the home. It’s crystal-clear and doesn’t impede my view. I have peace of mind knowing it will not budge in the ice-cold Upstate winters, where we get the occasional -20°F wind chill a few times a season, as it is rated for temperatures as low as -40°F.

All in all, it’s a phenomenal product. I’d recommend it to anyone who needs a permanent bond in their projects and doesn’t want unsightly visible glue marring appearances.

This is a good product for miscellaneous construction projects or repair jobs. I used this in a few applications and while it works very well compared to others on the market there are some that are better depending on what you are using this for.

while the info commercial shows the instant gripping a brick to another brick that is not entirely accurate. They use excessive amounts and also don’t hold it up for very long. The instructions clearly state you need to apply pressure for about 30 seconds.

It will hold decent if you hold for 30 seconds or longer or in some cases temporary bracing. I used this to glue wood to the wall for making shelves and if you do not hold for 30 plus seconds it will sag of fall off.

I also used outside to fix a veneer stone that was falling off outdoors and it works very well. Overall its a pretty good product and fairly pleased in the application I used it for. If you base it solely of the commercial it may not live up to your full expectation but it is darn close.

Their are not enough words to describe how much I love this glue. I break things all the time ( no, not on purpose) but this glue fixes everything. I break coffee mugs and put them back together again.

No, not to just set on a shelf and look good but to use daily. I wash them or knock them over and they never rebreak or wash away. They are stronger then when you first buy them. It dries super fast and clean and precisely where you need it.

The dispenser work to keep things neat and easy to use and the cap keeps it from drying out. This product is the bomb, please don’t ever change the formula. Thanks for selling quality.

1. What does the product do well? This is the perfect super glue and can be used in everything, I’ve actually just used it on a pair of sunglasses that I had actually cracked a few weeks ago and now they are back to looking brand new again.

Been using it for years. I’m an artist and use it for all types of things. I’ve bought all different types and brands over the years. This is the only one that doesn’t dry up and I end up tossing out most of the bottle.

This stuff rocks!! I use it for everything I need to put together that nothing else will adhere to. Even better than JB weld. You just can’t drill and tap this stuff but it will hold forever and the blackish color blends in nice.

This is the large tube at a good price. It is name brand and certainly will do what it was designed to do and many more things one can think up to do with it. Very good product. Very good value.

This is the glue to use to bond any kind of plastic to plastic or fill holes. I have used it numerous times and it has never failed me. I never use super glue any more! It holds where other types of glues including Gorilla glue won’t.

I have used it to fabricate an agility pause table out of PVC boards and fittings. I use this in the joints and it is solid. Have also used it to repair things like pool nets where the plastic base or ring has cracked.

The welding powder fills large cracks very well. I also like that this stuff dries very quickly. Feels like seconds. I highly recommend it.

Whilst this is comparatively expensive to other adhesives it is worth every penny. Instantly bonds and also works perfectly as a filler or welder for cracks or breakages. It stays usable for a long period of time and can even increase the lifespan by storing it in the freezer.

Way over priced for what it is. it worked on a few little things here and there, but the crack in the radiator. Maybe worked for 1 day before it leaked, yes i did let it cure for 24hr.
