20 Best Glue For Polystyrene (2022 Updated)

The way this product gets my wood sticking together in such a phenomenally adhesive manner, speechless. This glue is quite frankly perfection for my current woodland creature of creativity projects. Thank you Elmer’s Carpenter wood glue, for making my weird inspirations a reality by helping it all come together in such a solid bond of artistic shenanigans.

It’s hard to find Elmer’s wood glue on the shelves anymore. I wanted non-weatherproof wood glue. Been using it for years and prefer it for most of my projects. Elmer’s wood glue gets the job done right for indoor products.

The best glue you can buy! It dries quickly so you only have to hold it together for a short time. It will make foam repairs stronger than the original foam so it’s unlikely to break apart in that spot again.

I have repaired foam airplanes that looked like they belonged in the garbage. This glue makes the impossible, possible. It also works very good on wood surfaces. You can’t go wrong with foam tac glue.

I never go to the flying field without it in my flight box.

For me, it beats all the other adhesives for Foam. Foam safe CA is great for some small applications where you just need a drop or so, but for joining broken parts, installing servos, making hinges, (try it, watch a video first to do the hinge thing) you can’t beat it.

Much better than Hot Glue, Epoxy, the polyurethanes like Gorilla Glue. Those things work of course, but if you try this stuff you will not go back. I have used their Fabric Tac for years for a variety of things, including model yacht sails, (thanks tp Swede Johnson for that) No seam, no joint has ever failed! The people at Beacon just know what they are doing when it comes to adhesives.

Foam Tac is the perfect glue if you’re building (or repairing) foam models. I’ve found that it sticks any foam, and grabs very quickly when applied as instructed. It’s also quite effective at sticking wooden parts to a foam surface.

It’s flexible, so it won’t break loose when subjected to vibration. All in all, I highly recommend Foam Tac for anyone who works with EPS, EPP, or EPO foam either for models or for crafts.

Was looking for the liquid nail adhesive in the gold and blue cardboard tube, but the store was out of it. Got this instead cause it also said construction adhesive, and that it bonds all types of woods.

Sorry, but this is nothing but silicone caulking. This will work if your wanting to seal around some windows or doors, but if your wanting to bond something permanent, then get the original liquid nail in the gold and blue tube.

That stuff is like super glue on steroids.

This is some great adhesive I have gone around my home repairing odds and ends. I repaired the trimming on the floor near my garage door that kept coming off when accidentally kicked or hit. It only had a small nail holding it in place.

I also repair the trimming on the floor around the kitchen cabinets that were never nailed down from the start due to builders’ error. This adhesive works great and it is easy to use. What I like most about it is it does bond within moments, I think it holds better than a regular nail.

Liquid Nails has made my job easier around the house and my work looks very professional. I am very pleased with the end results. This product gets the job done. This product got the job done. It is exactly what I needed to get things done around the house and it is good for all sorts of projects.

This is a wonderful product. I have used this sealant for several different projects and it always gives a nice tight lock seal whenever it is cured correctly. Works indoors and out, when used outdoors things needs to be fastened tightly and secured long enough for it to cure and dry properly but after that its nice and tight.

We’ve used this on new sink and cabinet installations, a shower installation, pretty much every new surface in the bathroom that was redone, windows for extra wind seal and several other places. This is something we always make sure to have on hand in case we need it for a quick fix.

We actually used this in accordance with some plumbers tape to quick seal our water tank outside in our well house last winter just to get us by. This stuff works miracles and I would highly recommend.

PLEASE if you are a parent to a child in k-3 support teachers through buying extra boxes of glue sticks like this (especially when cost is marked down a lot at the beginning of the school year sales), that is, if you can afford to spend a few extra $ for your child s classroom.

then go through your stock by periodically sending in a box with your child (maybe once a month, so buy 9-10 total, and can be store brand too) so you can provide these to your child’s teacher if in grades k-3.

every year teachers make a desired supply list and normally they are cut in half of what teachers request. 6 glue sticks for a long 180 days across 10 months using glue sticks for a 6 year old they may put on supply lists.

don’t think it is fair! children leave the lids off, loose them, smoosh them, unscrew them, etc. etc. just being kids once a week almost and every child goes through well over a dozen in grades k-3 in one school year.

this little gesture of sending in an extra pack of glue sticks at the beginning of the school year will make a lasting impression and show your support of education to your child’s teacher. this few dollar investment does matter.

then continue sending them as mentioned monthly, maybe with a box of pencils, sometimes a box of expo markers or a few post it notes, etc. all are so helpful to a teacher who even when asking at the start of teh school year when items are at their lowest price are limited on what they may ask parents to provide, so teachers only hope that parents will help replenish the stock of supplies that in august or september barely have a housing spot in a classroom yet by novemeber are scarce and a treasure to find.

sometimes it was not even that as a teacher i could not afford a two dollar pack of glue sticks so my students had supplies needed for learning, yet it was more the hassle of stopping at a store after a long day.

Elmer’s School Glue Stick in the only glue my kids will use. I have three children in elementary school and they have become very picky on school supplies. Now that I have all three at home and my wife is elearning with them, we are able to utilize supplies more often.

Many of the children’s work pages require ‘cut and paste’ actions. My children have had different types of brands but Elmer’s is our favorite. The pieces that need to be glued stay better. The children’s favorite feature is the purple color.

Still learning their fine motor skills, this is a huge way to help them. They are able to apply the glue and see exactly where it is with the purple coloring. It’s genius! My wife loves that it’s easy clean up and the glue isn’t as sticky as other brands if it gets in the kids hands.

I recently installed a new lithium ion battery in an old but excellent Bluetooth speaker. In order to open the speaker housing I had to remove the round rubber pads (“feet”) on the bottom to access several screws that secure an access panel.

The glue that held these rubber pads to the metal speaker bottom is more than 10 years old and needed to be peeled off and replaced with a fresh adhesive. Elmer’s rubber cement turned out to be excellent for this purpose because it, too, can be peeled off and refreshed if I need to open the speaker case again.

This rubber cement has just the right amount of “stick” to secure the rubber pads to the metal speaker bottom, but not so much that the pads can’t be peeled off again to access the screws underneath.

This speaker repair used only a tiny amount of the rubber cement. The bottle has now bveen added to the family crafting equipment for gluing photo paper to other paper and wood surfaces.

I purchased several bottles of Elmer’s Rubber Cement and I highly recommend it when attaching pictures or paper to poster or foam boards for display. This Rubber Cement does not smell and it has a brush applicator that is easy to use.

A little goes a long way. Just make sure the items you are gluing down are fully dry before moving the board to an upright position. My displays are still fully intact and it has been more than three months since I assembled them.

Strongly recommend this product.

I had purchased two LARGE. bottles of Rubber cement several years ago for a scrapbook I was putting together for my American Legion Auxiliary. I’m their Historian and have been procrastinating for a long time.

Well, I finally got the thing all put together except for several pages and the Rubber Cement that I bought from you several years ago was still perfect and I used both jars of it putting there scrapbook together so I came in and bought om=]ne more bottle and used almost all of it too.

Super Glue from Loctite® has some serious staying power. Glue just doesn’t get any stronger than this. I love that it’s suitable to use on such a wide variety of surfaces and materials such as metal, paper, wood, leather, rubber, ceramic and the majority of plastic materials.

Finally a super glue that works! I was so tired of buying super glue only to be disappointed of their performances! I never tried this brand, so I read the reviews and decided with the brush on. I really like this glue.

First of all, it’s easy to apply. I had a small wood elephant tusk to glue back on. I tried other brands even wood glue and they all failed! So on the hunt for a new glue. I took a chance on this brand and IT WORKED!! A strong bond was achieved on a tiny size of the pointy end of a toothpick! Next, I had a ceramic elephant dish that the trunk got broken off during shipping.

Again, I didn’t’ think any glue would work because of past experiences. But, IT WORKED! You can’t tell it was ever broken off! I am so grateful that I finally found this. It will be my go to because it works on different materials! Give it a try, I hope it works for you as it has for me!.

Easy and safe application and last a long time after opening. Unlike a lot of other superglues I have tried this is by far the best because it doesnt go solid within days of opening it. I have never understood why superglues that are designed to be used in small amounts go solid and unusable in such a short timeframe.

My last bottle of Loctite lasted easily 12 months and got used and used and used. Right down to the last drop in the corner. I hope the replacement lasts as long and works as well. Easy and safe application and last a long time after opening Amended Dec 2012.

Well some do I havent identified why as yet but one bottle has remained really fluid and usable whilst the other has gone solid Both where used at about the same time and both stored in similar locations so why one should go solid is a mystery.

I had to make a customized cardboard shipping carton for an overnight shipment. Realizing some pieces needed to be glued together – I went immediately to Office Depot for some Elmer’s glue. I was surprised how soon the glue dried totally and it wasn’t messy at all.

And the parts turned out so strong I couldn’t pull them apart! The carton turned out so strong the customer was impressed & keeps using it.

Probably the best impact type adhesive for foam/expanded polystyrene use. As with all glueing operations, care and good preparation of the surfaces is the key to a satisfactory joint. This material is clear and does not dry hard, retaining a degree of flexibility in sympathy with the materials being joined.

Have been using Uhu Por for several years in my aeromodelling, and can recommend it fully.

This stuff is not normally available in the States, it’s German. However, besides the advertised use with Styrofoam, this is really the best contact cement you can buy. I used it so often, just let it dry, put the pieces together, done.

Like it should be. I have glued for instance some very thin goat leather embossed like alligator to a camera that was all scratched up. 2 years ago. It’s still on it! Or I’ve soaked a piece of Velcro in Acetone to get the glue off because that didn’t work and used UHU to re-glue it.

for good. Great stuff. Only UHU Epoxy is more versatile than POR. But that’s another review.

I use it to join large 3d printed parts made from pla. When joining large surfaces it is easier than ca glue, gives you more time to align. It needs time to set, overnight best, but the bond is strong.

This is the best foam adhesive for repairing foam planes. I’ve repaired many planes for club members with great results. Save all your foam parts after a crash and bring back that dead plane. Makes a safe repair without creating hard spots.

If you have a foam plane, you need this adhesive.

The Loctite Brush-on Super Glue, has a nice sized brush that was very easy to use. The lid on the bottle locks on tight and keeps the glue from drying out. It worked really well on my dads vintage metal Bolo tie.

I was able to brush a nice thin layer of the super glue on, in just the area I needed it. I securely attached the ornamental piece back onto the slide. I also used it to attach the rubber foot back onto my laptop.

The Loctite Brush-on Super Glue was super easy to use and it has worked great on both of my of my projects. Give it a try the next time you need to repair one of your items.

Who knew that adding something as simple as a little brush to super glue would improve it tenfold!! No longer am I trying to add a single drop to something only to have a stream spill out, or spill some on my fingers then deal with that mess the whole day.

Now, it’s as simple as taking the brush and easily spreading the glue on whatever I need! No more under or over applying, no more mess! Wish I would’ve known about this product years ago!! I’ve always loved super glue but now, with something as simple as a brush, it a must have item! 100% recommend!!.

It is a weird consistence like thick, sticky, slightly cream coloured mucousy-gel and does not spread evenly from the nozzle as tends to ‘blob’ and is a bit difficult to control how much comes out, or to stop it oozing whilst you are replacing the lid, so the dispensing is not best, but despite all this, it works perfectly for sticking paper to polythene which is the purpose I bought it for as have used previously and it does not smell toxic or have fumes that knock you out! It is also easy to clean off the excess and dries clear.

Plus unlike the superglue I was using before, there is no risk of bonding your finger to the glued surface! I do not know how it would wash out from fabrics if accidentally splashed but I suspect it would come out.

I have not used this glue for any other purpose so cannot comment on how it performs sticking other materials together.

I love using this glue. I’ve used it for a number of different projects and it’s great to work with. It doesn’t dry too quickly which gives you time to position the item properly before hand and when it does dry it sticks really well.

Doesn’t give me a headache like some glues and it’s not too expensive.

I’m particularly interested in the jewellery making department. Although the quality of the stock is good, unfortunately there is very little to choose from and many of the display hooks are constantly empty.

I have to go online for most of my stock. Shame because I love to see what I buy first and Hobbycraft would be so handy for me.
