20 Best Glue For Slime (2022 Updated)

Don’t give me that washable nonsense. I don’t need the ‘podge. Contact cement will not hold up to the stresses of manhandling. Gimme that old time PVA School Glue when I need to make gears and cams out of nothing but cardstock and a dream.

I work in design and I have a little shop for handmade stuff. I’m creative through and through and I desperately needed a hobby I can’t monetize easily. Papercraft mechanical automatons were exactly what I needed, and after trying out a bunch of different glues, I returned to this humble workhorse (work-bull?) to hold them together.

And the LAST. At least until my neice finally tears the paper (this is the joy of papercraft. Build them, give them to the kids in your life to play with until they destroy them, and then build some more.

).

This glue is a staple in my house for when the grandkids want to play artist. They enjoy gluing paper, cardboard and all kinds of things together. We used this glue to make Christmas decorations and will be doing Valentine’s soon.

The glue is clear, easy to use and clean up. Plus the kids love making slime with it, since it is clear, your colors show up brighter. We even attempted to make glass catchers using this glue and an embroidery hoop and glitter.

It didn’t turn out too bad, but we need practice with adding the colors. We tried food coloring and melted crayons to swirl in the glue. There is just so much you can do with the glue. I even keep a small container in my bag that I take to bingo to glue my papers together.

It dries fast and holds great. I also just used this glue to glue together a little memory craft I did that included shells, sand and some mementos of where we went to put into a frame. It worked beautifully because you couldn’t see the glue and it held everything together.

I’m pretty new to paper crafts and using cardstock. I was using glue sticks and white glue mostly, but I was disappointed how it would make the paper look (warped and visible glue spots). I saw this and thought I’d give it a try.

It’s very easy to use, mess-free, you don’t really need too much, and the paper lies flat and there are no visible glue spots! I like that it’s repositionable for a few seconds if you get it wrong. I also like that there are refills you can get, though I can’t speak as to how easy it is to swap out the cartridges yet.

Used this Magical Liquid to help my kids make slime. I had no idea what I was doing, but the kids did. I read the directions a few times and went off of what my kids knew. I started with a 5oz bottle of color-changing glue poured into a disposable bowl.

The directions said to use 2 teaspoons to start and add up to a tablespoon if needed. I started with a full tablespoon to start. I stirred the mixture with a plastic spoon as to not make a mess with our silverware.

If the mixture stuck to the spoon, I added a 1/2 teaspoon or magical liquid and continued stirring. I added a total of 2 teaspoons and realized it had too much solution. My 13 year old recommended a cornstarch slurry to thicken it.

I mixed a teaspoon of cornstarch with about a 1/4 cup of cold water and splashed a little of the mixture into the slime. My 13-year-old then needed the slime mixture and it fixed the over solution problem and became what she called real slime.

The texture was weird to me, but the kids reassured me that is what slime is supposed to feel like. They took the slime outside to test the color-changing effect, and it went from yellow to red after playing with it for a couple of minutes.

It took us about 5 minutes to make the product, much easier than I anticipated. There’s still an almost full bottle of magical liquid left, so I believe this should last us for several more projects.

It took more liquid than I first anticipated, but it still doesn’t seem like a lot considering the thick consistency. We chose to store the made slime in a plastic quart-size bag which is helping it keep.

This is great to have on hand for random rainy day crafts.

I’ve had such an amazing time using this Elmer’s Magical Liquid to make slime! I’ve made it alone, with my children and with my granddaughter, each time has been so much fun! It’s incredibly easy to make and for myself it seems almost therapeutic.

That is solely my opinion of using it alone. Playing with the slime that we make using this product whether alone or with the kids has been such a great experience. It’s a great way to get them away from the tv, phones or computers and just have a good time! I love when I find something that is both easy and fun to do.

I’m looking forward to many many more times of creating slime and spending that good quality time with the kids. That’s as good as it gets! I highly recommend this product, it’s a new family favorite for us!.

I’m not a fan of slime! Generally speaking, it’s sticky, wet and gets stuck on everything(clothes, hair, carpet, etc. ). However, because of all these bad options, it seems to encourage the kids to beg more for slime than say Lego’s or even play dough.

You do get many options with making your own slime and I’m a big fan of anything nontoxic. Replacing borax with this magical liquid helps calm a parent’s heart for sure. Now with Covid going on, we need to remind our kids to have fun even while stuck at home.

I believe that it’s a useful tool and using this is less mess so I’ll encourage people to invest. Your kids will love you for it!.

Theese Elmers glow in the dark glue have been a total hit in my house. The kids immediately claimed them and then went off to make slime. I thought it made slime with the Elmers magic solution just like other Elmers glue.

The kids poured it in and started stirring until it became slime. But what we really fun with this glue is that it glows in the dark. The kids loved turning off the lights and playing with their glow slime.

My 10-year-old daughter is a slime-making-fool! She has all sorts of different glues, activators, etc for her slimes. We got this for her as a Christmas gift and she has really seemed to enjoy it. I like personally that is made by a trusted company (she normally uses off-brand glues) and the glow is really nice.

I noticed it being used a little bit more than most of her others once she figured out how well they do glow at night/in the dark. I received free samples of Elmer’s Glue slime starter kits. Both of my kids ages 7 and 10 and myself included were very excited to try these out. We had made homemade slime before and we found that it didn’t always work to well, because we either didn’t measure correctly or we didn’t have exactly the right ingredients.

So we were really excited to try these kits that contained everything we needed in one box. The kits had everything we need and very easy to follow instructions. It was a lot of fun making these and they all worked the first time.

The kids really enjoyed mixing everything together and watching the slime form. We also really liked all of the different colors and types of slime the kits come in. This was a lot of fun to do but did require some adult supervision.

I got the Glow in the dark Elmer’s Glue the other day and outlined my daughter’s name on a posterboard then hung it up in her room. That evening she turned her bedroom light off getting ready for bed and she quickly noticed the posterboard because it was glowing very bright.

The Glow in the dark Elmer’s Glue is so bright at glowing that my daughter was able to use it as a night light. The next day my daughter and I decided to take the Glow in the dark Elmer’s Glue and we made all kinds of projects to Glow at night.

Fantastic!! I got it to build toys for my rabbit. I honestly didn’t think it would hold the very thin rims of toilet rolls to a piece of wood!! He had to nibble it all the way to the bottom to get his treats, the toys last him days now instead of minutes.

And it’s very hard to find pet friendly glue. I would def recommend it.

I’ve wasted a lot of money buying cheaper glues so my daughter can master slime making. Elmer’s works first time following the instructions exactly. Easy and limited mess ( well kind of!). Thourougly recommend for happy children and stress free slime making.

This glue is great! I’m a 2nd grade teacher and like to do glittery projects. without loose glitter all over the place, during the holiday season. I’ve purchased this glue for wooden frame projects, ornament design projects and for card making purposes.

I have used Elemer’s Glue since I was a kid in the 80’s. I love when brands stay around because they are consistent and stay true to their product. We have used the glitter glue in 2 ways. The first was we made glittery snowflakes that came out great.

The second was of course for slime. My 11 year old is obsessed with making slime. It came out awesome!! She loved the glitter look and the slime was not sticky and the perfect consistency. As always Elmer’s is a timeless product that I will always count on.

I’ve had great success with both the white school glue AND the clear school glue. I was super hesitant to try but jumped at the chance to try it with the $5/gal deal. I won’t bother with any other glue-this is definitely a win for us.

We also bought the small squeeze bottles with a twist lid to use as glue bottles. Great combination! Perfect for preschool kiddos.

my little girls loves making all sorts of slime. I didnt know about hobbycraft and it was my first time shopping. It was a lovely experience, we met a lovely friendly lady , who gave us a voucher and a loyalty card.

Thank you , really for being so sweet and humble. Quality of a product is really great and it lasting and easy to use. Every time, when i am near that area , we will be popping in to get some stationary and sawing , drawing items.

We bought this in-store, along with some coloured glue. My kid immediately started mixing up a bunch of slime. It is INCREDIBLE. So easy to use and instant results without all the frustrations of measuring out ingredients.

After making about 3 batches of slime, there is still over half a bottle left.

After attending a slime workshop at Hobbycraft with my children I was really impressed at how easy it looked to do. After a year of my children wiping out my bicarb, blutac, toothpaste, shampoo and contact lens solution for it to always fail, I thought I would give it a go at home and buy the elmers and other kit that they used at the workshop.

Can’t believe it works so well after all the failed attempts. As you add it into the mixture you can see it instantly start to thicken it up into lovely gooey slime. I am now wiped out of all my plastic storage pots but at least my shampoo and bicarb are now safe.

Would recommend this highly.

This product is of well value and it came well before the expected delivery date. Very good and I like it a lot. Makes some good slime. I thought you only got one colouring. To u get the whole selection.

Thus glue was easy to use as the nozzle guides it to the correct spot. Sticks well.

My daughter and I really enjoyed this slime kit. I love that this kit came with different options, my favorite of all the options was the confetti slime. I just love the different colors of confetti, this slime was fun to play with and kept us entertained for a good while! My daughter’s favorite of this kit was the glow in the dark.

After making the glow in the dark slime she turned out the lights to make sure it really did glow in the dark, we was both impressed with the amount of glow this slime had we both really enjoyed playing with it! This kit didn’t come with glue but glue is so cheap to get and we was able to choose the color of glue to get, we ended up getting clear and pink clear, both worked really great with this kit.

I added a little food coloring to the glow in the dark to make the color more appealing! This kit was fun and I really enjoyed that I didn’t have to do allot of complicated measuring. Another thing I noticed about this slime kit is that it didn’t have anything to store the slime in after making it but that’s ok because plastic zip bags worked really great to store the already made slime.

Overall this is a great kit that I would recommend for anyone who loves slime!.

I made slime with my two teenage daughters using this kit. This kit does not come with the glue so I purchased that separately. We added the pre-colored Elmer’s brand glue and mixed the glue with each of the activators included in the package.

My kids loved the different textures with the confetti and the crunchy activators. Their favorite by far was the glow in the dark activator. The slime needed a little time to set up, the consistency was smooth and not sticky.

There is enough activator for one batch of each bottle. After we made all the different types my daughters got creative and began to experiment by combining the different slimes together. They really enjoyed this project.

I enjoyed some peace of mind because the activators are non-toxic and washable.

I’ve never made slime before, so this kit was perfect for me. This kit contained four different activators; two confetti, one metallic, one crunchy, and one glow in the dark. First, I made one 5oz slime of each and then I tried a combination of glow in the dark and confetti and then a combination of confetti with metallic and both looked really cool.

I have two boys, ages 9 and 14, and this was a fun activity that they could to do together despite their age difference. After about a week of non-slime activities we went back to our slime which we stores in zip lock bags and they were still pliable and looked like freshly made slime.

Again, as a “noob” like my kids would say, I had never made slime because they were always in daycare and did activities like this, so this kit really helped me connect and have fun with both of my boys.

Blue color is pretty but not very metallic when used for slime. After we made slime it just looked like a light blue, not metallic at all. It might look metallic if you are using it for another purpose.

This metallic glue is colorful and sparkly, but it is very hard for a 3 1/2 year-old to squeeze. We don’t know if it is every bottle or just this particular one, but it is thick and hard for a small child to use.

For an adult it is okay but I can’t recommend it for a young child to use because of its viscosity and difficulty to squeeze.

As a mom of grade-schoolers, I’m here to tell you: when you have craft projects seemingly every. single. day. and twice on weekends; you need the non-generic glue. Especially when the preferred craft is slime.

Slime all the time. Fluffy slime. Butter slime. Crunchy slime. We do it all. I’ve learned the hard way (MANY TIMES) that the cheapest glue does NOT work. Go with the trusted name (Elmer’s) and save yourself time, money, and tears.

This clear glue is great because you can add in tons of things (glitter, foam, coloring, etc. ) and it remains transparent. The kids love it. And, bonus, this giant bottle is four times bigger than your normal school size bottle, so we waste less.

How does it work for gluing, you ask? Exactly as you would expect it to; which is to say it bonds together well and dries clear. Almost a hot glue finish, without the finger-burning.

Bought this as the kids old slime kit (a different brand) had run out and they wanted more for the school hols. What a disappointment! Pages were falling out of the book every time we opened it and no matter whether we followed amounts to the letter or tweaked them, we just ended up with either lumpy rubber ball or a sticky mess.

This never happened before with our last kit! Ingredients listed in book don’t even match what is in the kit. Basically a missmatched load of brands that don’t seem to mix together. Complete waste of my money and 2 very disappointed kids.

In the book are ingredients you need to make the slimes. The ingredients in the book and in the kit do not match. One of the most important ingredient that is missing in the kit is the contact lens solution.

You need it to make almost all slimes. It comes 5 clear glue sticks of 50ml, you need at least 120 ml to make a single slime! Plus you have to buy baking powder and the contact lens solution. Much money for very little You can make two slimes for 18.

This was our first attempt at making slime so I thought this kit was idiot-proof but somehow we added the two ingredients together as per instructions and the thing was still too sticky to hold, it didn’t stretch like I expected it to from seeing videos of slime.

Overall pretty disappointed mum and a toddler that wouldn’t even touch it after seeing the mess on my hands. We’ll be using the second glue and remaining glitter sticks for other crafts.

My son loves making slime at home. And we usually use the elmers clear glue slime activator. This time we tried using this apple scented slime activator and it’s was amazing. My son loved the smell. It was fun to use this and make slime.

Great for preschool kids activities. It’s non toxic so we can be safe. I am a big fan of Elmer glue and this dint disappoint me at all. Great quality! It’s a thin liquid. Perfect slime activator! I recommend it.

So I was hesitant to use a sented glue. Sented markers did not end well with small kids lol. The bottle smells good and I was really looking forward to not having to use uncle Jimmy’s contact solution all the time.

But it sucked it didn’t work out that good. We have made slime lots of times. And this was just a hot mess. Like a real mess that smelled like an apple. We never got it to turn to slime. We did however get it stuck on the rubber gloves, the floor, the chairs and clothing.

2 stars just because it didn’t smell bad. Other than that I guess I will go back to the old way.

I got this Elmers green apple scented slime activator for the grandkids. They love all of this slime stuff. We got the glue to go with it. The green apple part smelled pretty good! We followed all of the directions perfectly, but it turned out to be a green apple mess! We dont understand what happened, but it turned out sticky and icky.

Maybe we could of used a different kind of glue and it would have turned out better, but we didnt have very much luck with it.
