20 Best Glue For Terracotta (2022 Updated)

Seems folks don’t read instructions – this glue expands into a foam, therefore you MUST clamp the joint and even affix with temporary screws or battens. Roughen surfaces and use a water mist spray and this stuff just about glues anything to anything.

It also leaves a foamy surface you can smooth down or sand and fill, I use it on plastics and woods even limestone. NB – if is horrid on your hands or clothes. Be very careful if using on awkward laminate floor cuts – just a little and clamp like mad – use bricks etc and then you should end up with just a foam bead to snick off and dab a bit of colour match onto.

I normally leave it overnight although two hours on a warm day and the water mist it will normally be cured.

I bought this to bond wood and plastic together where I had managed to snap the plastic screw cap that attached my broom’s wooden handle to the brush. Wasn’t sure it would work as I wasn’t able to apply the pressure that the bottle suggested I should.

That being said, it expands loads and seems to have a really solid hold. I’ve tried the broom out and seems to work fine. Would definitely recommend. People should note however when it dries it looks like a very pale yellow or orange foam.

This wasn’t a problem for me, but if it is for other people, I’d suggest the one that dries clear.

Having brought ‘hard as nails’ glue to fix outside plastic cat strips to a concrete fence I was more than disappointed. I had used gorilla glue previously and wetting one surface makes the glue slightly expand, and I mean slightly.

But it does fill in small gaps which was great for my outside application. With the ‘hard as nails’ glue barely doing the job it was brought for I used clear tape to hold the pieces in place while I wet and applied the glue.

Neither cats, gorillas nor burglars are going to move the strips now and I feel confident they will be here when the fence needs replacing. I also used it on the handle of a ceramic jug that had come adrift, and on an electric fan where the plastic that held the turning mechanism in place had torn the plastic off.

Both successful applications. As Caesar said ‘ I came, I saw I Gorilla glued’.

Pretty good stuff. Seals well but the layers go on kind of thin. If you spray too much at once you will see streaks down the side once its dry. My advice would be to apply it in light layers, letting it dry fully in betwen.

Sometimes the paint I use will stick to the dish it’s sitting on and cause it to separate from the pot.

Bought a cute set of terra cotta planters from Michiko Shimada and didn’t realize that the water permeating through the clay drip tray was molding my window sill. Did two coats of this sealer over two days, and now I don’t have to worry about water damage.

Great! It does make the surface glossy, but I don’t mind.

I use this to seal clay pots after painting with acrylic paints. It is easy to spray and works well! Makes paints pop and gives it a shiny finish. The only downside is the smell and slightly yellow sheen it can give if the coat is too thick.

It held everything together was very strong and quick and neat.

I have use this product a number of times before. Because there are no longer any hardware stores in my area, I had to go online to purchase more of this product. Previously, I have purchased this product at a local hardware store.

It is a good product and does what it says it does.

Tried to glue my wine stopper back together (glass to metal). Let it sit for 6 hours, but it didn’t work — easily came apart in my hands.

I love JB weld for so many things. This is not one of them. I opened the package and followed directions. Don’t know if I messed up or got a faulty package. But the red tip never came off in the process of trying to get it off the whole thing opened up and I got the apoxy everywhere.

Ruined my bar top trying to get it off. On top of that the light part fell off the back. This is a prime example of when a good company tries to expand. You can’t trust the name anymore.

I love this glue. I keep it in my purse! I’ve repaired my Nike tennis shoes, toe and sole. I cannot name the time it’s come in handy over the years. (I discovered it about 3or4 years ago. ) Right now I’m using it to glue a nylon cord to the backs of two small, wooden initials, GP.

Those are the initials of my brother who tragically passed away not long ago. I was at a low how to hang them but created a hanger with cord and your great glue and it’s going to work perfectly. Thanks for a really great product that works well, is sold in a convenient size and is not expensive.

I backed into my granddaughters car and knocked her side mirror off. It cracked the plastic mount and mirror was hanging. We applied the Superweld professional strength and held it for one minute. That was 2 weeks ago and she has been up and down the highway daily and it is still holding.

This stuff will make anything stick! I used this to glue rhinestones onto glasses for a friend’s baby shower. These rhinestones are still glued in there. Not messy at all. Follow the directions and you’re all set!.

When using glue its always a concern when using if once it hardens it actually stays. The one thing I always know when it comes to Gorilla Glue is it’s made to work and work good. And this clear is not any less in strength than my expectations expected.

Now its the great original strength of Gorilla Glue just not seen, so can be used on crafts for extra protection.

At first I didn’t like it because it was runny and I didn’t think it would hold anything. Boy was I wrong! It’s like superglue! Love it! I love all the Gorilla glues and tapes!!!

Gorilla glue came in handy to put back together a broken picture frame. In less than 15 minutes, the glue dried and was as good as new. It’s been more than 10 days since the glue was applied to the frame and still holding up well.

No longer panicking when something breaks around the house.

Gorilla Glue I used this for one of those weird projects where there there were multiple surface types and no easy answers. Sparing the details, it worked great on my carpet remnant meets concrete meets steel job and both aesthetic and holding power needs were met.

Very easy to use and makes less mess. It works on just about everything and keeps a very strong hold. It’s s must have if u are clumsy like me and break everything lol. My husband can’t even tell what things are broken now.

I don’t know why, but I love most anything that comes in small compact packaging and that is also easy to carry around. I had a huge issue with the rearview mirror in my car falling off (It’s a long story.

). I tried Epoxy glue, but let’s be honest, who has the patience and the time to hold up the mirror until the glue fully dries? I sure didn’t. This Gorilla Super Glue made it so easy, and the glue dried up in a matter of seconds.

It fixed my rearview mirror problem, for now at least. Thank goodness for super glue! I highly recommend this product for any quick fixes, but buyer beware. This stuff really sticks and dries up super fast! :).

Mysteriously, this product completely ruined four of my paintings and my dining room table. I had painted glass from an 8×10 frame and needed to glue the glass into the frame. For every one (I did 4) the glass fogged up all around where it had been glued.

It looks like cloudy water or soap build up. This same “build up” somehow eeked onto my dining room table (there was definitely no dripping of glue – I had done the gluing on a mat then moved the project to the table to set completely).

So it was like the fumes from the glue ruined the table? Same thing happened to one of the picture frames as well. When I try wiping it off, it disappears then reappears just as bad a few minutes later.

I’ve used gorilla products before and have been happy, so I’m completely shocked and baffled by this. And extremely sad as it totally ruined four paintings I was planning to sell.

In my time, I’ve tried a lot of different super glue brands, from Loctite, to Tamiya, to the small toothpaste-looking tubes. Now, I’ve found my favorite. The Gorilla glue is slow to dispense from the bottle, which means I have better control over how much glue I’m using.

It also takes less time to set and bond, which is nice. So far as I can tell, when two glued pieces do break apart, there’s no residue like what Loctite leaves. I’m incredibly happy with the product.

This adhesive spray works well. I sprayed an even thick coat of the spray glue and let it cure as per the instructions and the items I glued are being strongly held together. I wouldn’t use it for important projects but for regular household or outdoor small projects I would.

It does what it’s supposed to do. I would recommend it for those who need smaller projects bonded together.

1. Identify the material (is it plastic, wood, metal etc. ) 2. Identify the area to glue, is it a spot that will have force exerted onto it? How much kg? (for shoes, it’d need small weight bearing nails, not just glue as the shift of weight when walking puts stress on the glued area) 3.

Clean the area thoroughly (no dust, debris), for sensitive painted areas, use tooth paste as last resort to clean (do not use high PH chemicals) 4. Use proper sandpaper (specific grain size designed to sand your material) and carefully roughen the area for the glue to grab onto 5.

For extra bond, either heat the area very carefully so molecules expand slightly, if using hot water, let it fully dry before application 6. Lastly, apply glue gently to the area, hold in place at least 15-min, use painters tape if needed so it won’t spill out when pressed 7.

Tape or clamp item in place and leave for at least 24-48 hours in dry room temperature (no moisture should be present as water from air can seep into pores, weakening the bond) Hope that helps :).

I would strongly suggest that anyone wanting to buy Gorrila Glue – should take a moment to Unscrew the Can. I found my Bottle was so old that it had ‘Skinned right over – so nothing would come out. I mentioned it to the Mgr of our Gravenhurst Store – that they should check them all.

‘Cause – they would have a lot of Put-Off Customers if they rest are the same. JOE.

The cap of the container is improved, so the glue doesn’t dry out in the bottle. The only point that the user should remember is that the glue actually goes through some sort of reaction, so though very solid, it forms bubbles in the applied glue which can sometimes create a bump at the edge of where the glue is applied.

This can be easily removed/cut off after the glue has partially dried, but as the glue continues to set, cutting it becomes progressively harder.

A drawer kept pulling out of its frame. This did the trick. Works for me. Excellent hold.

Works really well with wood and plastic. Definitely wear gloves when using it.

i bought this product to try on my work boots,the boots are not very old ad some ot stitching was comming out. I used the gorilla glue to glue the spots and it has worked great.

Gorilla glue is an amazing product. It definitely lives up to its name. It has a strong hold and dries in 30 seconds. I have the small tube and it works just as well as the other products they have. It’s affordable and it lasts a long time.

Would recommend to anyone who needs to super glue something with a strong hold. 5/5.

I get so tired of throwing out bottles of Gorilla Glue because the nozzle is full of glue that hardens after 1 use. I bought this package BECAUSE of throwing out partially used bottles. These are fabulous!!!! I have used 1 tube 3 times already and I will still get at least another use out of it.

I’m done with buying the bottles, these tubes are GREAT!!!!!.

I use this extensively for wood turning. Works great, though I highly recommend the accelerant spray too. The spout and cap tend to get messy and/or break as the glue gets used many times, especially with larger bottles.

I mostly use the thin except in larger defects.

It works well for repairing boards. I use it to fill knots by filling them with saw dust and then pouring CA Thin glue and soaking the sawdust let dry and then sand smooth. Also if you have cracks starting at the end of a board pouring it into the crack with end grain up you will see it surface at times all the way down the length of the board apply clamps pull the crack together.

Be careful it will run out the bottom end grain. This will fix almost any kind of crack with some practice. I have saved thousands of board feet of wood this way.

Directions: apply sparingly to objects to be bonded. Apply pressure for several days then release and curse as parts fall apart. Reapply more liberally then squeeze project harder this time and release after even longer.

Curse again as parts again separate but this time they will look wet and one of them will be stuck partially to your finger. Throw remainder of product in trash and ask wife for nail polish remover because you heard that stuff can get glue off.

Indications: not for use with wood, paper, metal, or anything useful. Instantly bonds fingers to other fingers, or fingers to paper towel, fingers to your project, or fingers to really anything. Cure time of 3-1/2 yrs unless bonding fingers together then product flash bonds instantly.

The HFT high strength super glue works great, but be advised, you have to work very fast with this product. There is 2 varieties of this glue. One is in the gel form which I have not used, and the other is in liquid form and dries in seconds.

I have used the liquid form product a number of times. Recently, I put on a PVClite plus 26″ x 8′ panels over my existing yard deck roof that was covered in lattice for many years, and started to look bad.

I covered it with the panels using the green PVC plus with the recommended wood screws that had a type of rubber underneath the head of the screws to help seal water out. It sealed ok except where I missed the wood frame with the screws.

The solution. Squeeze on ‘ Harbor Freights ‘ super glue. I did and it solved the problem I was having in a number of places. The glue contains ethyl cyanoacrylate. Good luck with your projects. John P.

These Supper Glue ampules are ideal for the small jobs needing super glue. Unlike the larger bottles/tubes that get used once or twice then the glue gels in the bottle, these stay usable for long periods of time after opening and if per change you don’t use up all that is in an ampule and one goes bad, its no big deal since there is only a small portion in each tube.

The tubes are hermetically sealed with metal that has to be punctured when ready to use so they will not dry up in storage. One other thing, I love the Pin Point nozzle. It makes for an accurate placement of the glue but be careful around threaded holes, Super Glue (Any Super Glue) has a way of getting into threads and messing them up, it can actually run up hill! If that happens you have to wait until it dries/hardens then retap the threads.

I like these so much I have quit buying larger units in larger single quantities at the model shop and big box stores. Rf.

This is my favorite brand of super glue. It connects generally everything together and it’s not very messy. It comes out clear. Great for both indoor outdoor projects. I use it a lot of general crafting.

When regular glue won’t cut it during crafting gorilla glue will save the day!!.

What is up with adding water, foam, no foam, flaking yellow chips, these 5 min holds that take 24 hours to set. COME ON!!, just give us back the ole Super Glue from the 80s!!! Yes, stuck fingers to lips and ALL.

I have a music room and needed to put some foam acoustic treatment on the walls to soak up some nasty sound reflections. The room doubles as a gallery so I wanted something I could remove when a plain wall was needed for hanging artworks, hence decided to stick the tiles to 4mm Correx.

This board is quite flexible so I needed a glue to stick foam to plastic which would also remain flexible so avoiding tiles falling off if the board was bent during handling. With foam acoustic tiles, the glue is important: double-sided tape / stiff-setting glue won’t work, and spray adhesive isn’t great and also very messy to use.

I did a lot of research before deciding to use this adhesive. If anyone’s reading this and contemplating similar, cut the correx panel to size and lay a few tiles face down. Cut a 6mm hole at an angle in the nozzle and do a square of glue about 4cm inside the perimeter of the back of each tile, and then join the 2 corners with an “X”.

Apply the tile to the backing and rotate it a bit to smear the glue, then press hard from the middle outwards. I was doing a 4×4 panel of 30cm tiles, so each tube lasted just short of a complete panel.

Using a 6mm bead I got about 9 linear metres out of each tube – if that helps anyone! So basically order more than you think. I’m sure I’ll be making use of the leftover glue somewhere. Finally, it’s strong and sticks very quickly but allows a bit of repositioning.

The bead of glue will stay pretty much where you put it without dribbling where it shouldn’t (as I’m sure it’s not easy to remove even before it sets)!. Pretty much odour-free and way better than spray adhesive for my particular use case.

Sadly I can not recommend this product. I had previously purchased EBT and used it to seal outside of a large steel box. I had applied EBT but as soon as I put red oxide primer on it never dried. I was sold it as paintable.

However it wasn’t. So I took it back and fair enough screwfix replaced it with a hybrid OB1. BUT after drying completely and then painting over with red oxide whilst the red oxide dried this time, allowing a week for it all to cure.

When I painted over with Tractol 318 (tekaloid) and whilst that was dry everywhere within 24 hours , any part that had OB1 under it had wet top topcoat that stayed sticky to this day. Disappointed.

So if you want a very strong glue then this stuff is amazing! Once it has gone off this stuff stays stuck! However, OB1 clear starts off crystal clear and looks fabulous when first applied. 6 months later it has gone yellow.

I fit bathrooms as my main business and now are getting call backs because of the decolourisation. I look after my customers and happy to reseal but as I said at the start this stuff sticks so getting it off is a chore.

I’ll only use this to glue where it can’t be seen but never ever use it again, for example, sealing shower glass to trays as it will go yellow in 6 months. Thus the poor score as it doesn’t fulfil it’s purpose.

I’ve used it on so many bathrooms as well :-(.
