20 Best Glycolic Face Wash (2022 Updated)

I saw this face cleanser all over social media for months but my skin hadn’t broke out in a good while and my skin regimen was working great. A few months back I started to break out around my chin and absolutely nothing would clear it up.

I purchased this cleanser and my skin made a complete turnaround and cleared up within two weeks. It has tiny tiny exfoliating beads that are very gentle along with glycolic acid, salicylic acid, shea butter, tea tree, willow bark, bamboo, hyaluronic acid, etc.

! It has a very faint scent and does have a slight tingle when applied that goes away within seconds. Taking one star off because it does leave your skin a bit dry but baby soft after cleansing.

Awesome exfoliating cleanser! It’s reasonably priced and even goes on sale periodically! But best of all, it works! I think it cleans my face/pores better than any other cleanser! It is glycolic acid and has a rough texture, so be sure not to get it near your eyes!! You may want to use another cleanser to “double cleanse” before or after to remove any extra makeup, especially eye makeup.

This is great if you have occasional breakouts too. Highly recommend!.

The Botanic Tree Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser has been a great addition to my skincare routine! I like that it’s an anti aging cleanser and helps reduce wrinkles, but also helps combat my acne too! Overall, it does a great job cleansing my face and is keeping my skin smooth and clear.

I am, as one of my best friends would say, a “lifer. ” When it comes to skincare, I’m pretty faithful. After a deep dive into acids and terrible bout of reactions for months afterwords, I left Dermalogica.

Everything bothered my skin, now that I’ve stabilized, I am returning to old faithful. However, while the chemica exfoliants and cult favs like adaplene seemed to wreck me, I wanted something a bit more targeted to gently exfoliate and picked this up.

I have super sensitive skin! However, this is a great option for me as I focus on maintaining clear skin. It’s not overly stripping, but this and Biolumin C seem to be doing exactly what I was looking for.

When my dermatologist complimented me, I went on and picked up the largest bottle of this cleanser and will continue to keep my routine simple. I did notice I had a bit of a breakout when using twice a day, but I started using Special Cleansing Gel in the mornings and seems like I’m stabilizing again.

My best friend is right, I’m a lifetime loyalist to things that work for good reason- they work for me. My skin is bright, complexion is even, and all I do is cleanse, tone, use one serum, and moisturize.

That’s all I need and I’m happy with the results.

Even though this is an exfoliator, I’ve been using this cleanser daily without any irritation. It didn’t take long for me to notice an improvement. After cleansing with this, my face feels soft and clean without that stripped feeling.

It actually cleared away the milia that I had on my face and also brightened my complexion. I also love the texture- it’s soft and smooth, almost gel-like. Highly recommend!.

This product is nice to have, but I’m not sure I’d call it a must-have. There’s nothing wrong with this cleanser — in fact, I really enjoyed using it! The texture is absolutely perfect, my skin feels clean without that stripped feeling afterwads.

I have a truy pleasant experience every single time I use this cleanser, whether day or night. I’m a fan of Dermalogica products in general across the board and in terms of experience, this is on par.

I just don’t see the exfoliation aspect of this cleanser happening for me, personally. I’d much rather have these benefits from a serum or moisturizer versus a cleanser, which just gets washed off anyways.

I’m a little iffy on the cleanser benefits, but as a cleanser in general, this is truly lovely. My skin had a great reaction to it and while I didn’t notice a particularly dramatic alleviation of any dullness, I did feel like my skin physically felt different afterwards in a good way.

I’m torn on this cleanser — I’m not sure I’d be dishing out $35 for this when I like other cleansers equally as much that are more cost effective.

I like most of Badescu’s products the brand has been around for ages now so they are definitely an established brand. With that being said, I would prefer if the brand cut back on their amount of fragrance that they add in certain formulas (I have family members that are extremely sensitive to strong scents so if you also have someone in your family with asthma, emphysema, etc just keep this in mind regarding the brand).

The Glycolic Cleanser isn’t “as bad” as some others though when it comes to the scent. I use this more so as a “treatment cleanser” though since it’s only to be used 1-3 times a week as well as the back of my arms if I need an extra kick of exfoliation.

I try make sure that I am cleansing long enough to get the benefits from the actual active so I try to massage this cleanser for a minimum of 50 seconds. The price point of this makes it affordable for many people with it being 6oz/177mL at around $16 (Ulta has the products marked down sometimes which is when I stock up).

Since this cleanser lives up to its name as being a “foaming cleanser” you do not need to use a ton of it to see results. This seems to be a gentler cleanser as opposed to others with Glycolic being the heavy hitter in the formula I say this because my friend has some adverse reactions any time she uses a higher concentration of Glycolic which manifests with her having flaky, irritated skin so if you’re someone who is also sensitive be sure to follow up with a hydrating serum moisturizer.

I’ve been using this for 2 years or a little more. I tried everything that I possibly could. I wanted something other than drugstore cleansers and somehow saw this product/brand. It took me a while to give it a try considering the price.

I’m happy I made the change. I have hormonal ingrown hairs and extremely dark spots on my jawline and under my chin due to tweezing. This has lightened the spots over 2 years. It also dries out any bumps which I rarely get because I use this.

I also think it’s an excellent exfoliator. It helps keep my skin so clear it has also caused me to appear a little brighter and lighter. I also leave this one sometimes on my jawline only. Of course, I use the body cleanser now and other items from Mario Badescu, this is my absolute favorite cleanser.

I have sensitive/dry to normal skin and I’ve been testing this out for a couple of days now. I was really excited to try this because of the glowing reviews and because I love glycolic acid for my skin.

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. It left my skin feeling stripped out, and I noticed it gave me dry patches around my t-zone. Also, I find that the formula burns my eyes a lot and I personally find it heavily fragranced.

Aside from the dry patches and the eyes burning, I did notice a nice brightening effect, and my pores looked significantly reduced!!!I’m sad that I couldn’t continue using this for long, it might too strong for my skin type.

If you have dry-normal/sensitive skin like me, I’d skip this one. However, I imagine this would be PERFECT for those of you with oily/combo skin and who are less sensitive, especially at this price point!.

I love Derma E products and I love Well. ca; I have used both many many times in the past. However, it is the third time that I order Derma E cleansers on Well. ca and that there is a problem (although there were a few orders where there was no problem).

The first time the cleanser arrived and the lid was broken and the cleasner leaked in it’s bag. I was refunded no problem. The second time the top part of the lid was broken so that it could not pump the cleanser out, I had to unscrew it and pour it out.

I did not bother to contact Well. ca because it’s not that big of a deal, but still annoying. The third time is probably the worse though. The cleanser was slightly darker in color than usual. I brushed it off as I know this can happen with natural product.

But when I started washing my face with it it smelled like mold. Really disgusting. I had to quickly clean my face off with another cleanser and threw out the whole bottle. Kind of disappointing as this is normally a good cleanser, I did not have problem when I bought it in a physical store and this is the only product with which I had problem on Well.

ca. Still putting 2 stars as the cleanser itself is great, but maybe buy this one in-store.

Love this cleanser!! A bottle lasts so long because I only use a tiny bit, the size of a pea, and a little water to make super foamy cleanser when I lightly rub my hands together. Plus, it smells nice and clean, not perfume-y at all.

I use it on my neck and collarbone area. It doesn’t make my skin feel tight at all and my skin looks beautiful!!.

I purchased this product because it was claimed to help with dark spots. It has helped- a LOT. Is the dark spot gone? No- but is has significantly lightened and I have been using the wash once daily since October.

I don’t use it in the evening but each morning in the shower. Those jojoba beads are a pain to completely rinse off so I use the shower head to assist me! When used at night, I would feel remaining beads on my face-admittedly I am not a face splasher so that’s likely the reason.

Great product for dark spots! Definitely recommend for that purpose!.

I have been on the hunt for a glycolic face wash that works for several years. Spending a ridiculous amount of money on products that don’t do what they promise or are so harsh on my skin that I was left red and irritated (I am 49 and know how my skin reacts to most products and it’s sensitivity level).

I started using Body Merry last summer, and I must say I absolutely love the products I have used. My skin feels softer, looks smoother, and It seems the fine lines are minimizing. My skin doesn’t not burn or feel over-processed after using this product.

A little goes a long way, and I notice a slight citrus scent, but it is not overwhelming for me, and I have an ultra-sensitive nose and I cannot handle a lot of perfumes. The price is fair, and I will continue to use it with the other body merry products I am not hooked on.

I use this in rotation with my salicylic acid cleanser depending on the night. I love how clean my face feels after using this without feeling stripped of its natural oils. I definitely wouldn’t recommend using this every day, especially if you have dry skin, since it is an exfoliating cleanser.

This helps keep my skin clear without irritating my very sensitive skin (I have rosacea) and I’ll definitely be re-purchasing this once I run out.

I think this cleanser would be best suited for oily skin. It did however seem to smooth out and minimize my number eleven’s on my forehead when I used it continuously so I was happy for that. This is so sudsy you could even use it as a bubble bath.

I am a big Jack Black fan! The skincare or the person, take your pick lol anyway this face scrub is so GOOD. The scrub leaves my skin feeling awake! Not just from the exfoliant but from the scent it leaves.

It just feels fresh. My husband loves how his skin feels post shave, makes for a clean shave. I love to use it before I do my skincare to ensure mg skin takes in all the goodness free of dead skin cells.

I do wish the exfoliating balls were smaller for a finer feel but other then that I love it. Packaging is great, easy to use and snaps tight so you don’t loose product. Always reccomend Jack Black anything.

Love Jack Black products. I enjoy the fact they have unique products like the. This oil isn’t like any others. It can be used on face, body, or hair! And the best part is it doesn’t stay oily. It goes on feeling light weight and oily, but eventually dries down.

Great for some intense hydration. I love using it on my face sometimes as my moisturizer and my facial hair as well.

A face scrub has been part of my cleansing routine for years, and this counts as one of my two favourites. Yes, it is grainy and some will find mildly abrasive. Personally, I love it. It works. You can always moderate the scrub sensation by the amount of product you soon and by how lightly or heavily you scrub with your hands.

For me, this is nothing but a treat. I love the fresh, clean and cooling sensation afterwards.

Decent aha wash, for those unfamiliar,just because it says exfoliating doesn’t mean it has actual hard material in it to scratch/exfoliate the skin. The acid penetrates to do that. This is not a really harsh Glycolic acid wash, I have acne and sensitive face.

Ive been using it daily sometimes twice a day with no irritation or peeling no exfoliating effects at all tbh. That does not mean it isn’t good or working. Maybe I need something a little stronger. I will continue to use this because it works fine as an every day wash for me and seems to keep my face from getting really oily.

If that’s what you’re looking for, it’s fine. If you need something a little stronger, I’d check into the percentage of this and other glycolic/aha washes or peels. Hope that info helped someone lol.

It’s a great face wash and a great value. Worked wonders for blemishes and scars. Brightened better than anything I’ve ever used and actually reduced pimples dramatically and I only use it once a day 2x is way to drying.

If you have sensitive skin it probably isnt good for daily use maybe a few times a week. Also doesn’t seem very exfoliating but i certainly love it. This is my 3rd bottle.

This is a perfect fit for my skin. The cleanser itself is creamy and luxurious. It leaves my skin feeling clean, clear and healthy. My skin never feels dried out after washing. It helps keep my skin hydrated and looking great.

The Gel Wash has a pleasant smell and is refreshing when you put it on. My skin feels clean and after ongoing use, also looks brighter and clearer. It is smooth to put on which surprised me as it also says it’s an exfoliant and I thought it would have massaging beads or something like that in it.

I was pleasantly surprised by how effective it is as I honestly did not expect it to be that good. The only downside I’ve had is that parts of my skin have a bit of dryness since using it twice a day as per the instructions.

However, I gave my skin a break from it for a couple of days and applied more moisturiser on my face. I have since gone back to using it every second day, while applying extra moisturiser, and have found that this has worked for me.

Also, having an upside down squeeze tube has made it easier to access and means that none of it will be wasted and I find it reasonably priced as well. I give this product a thumbs up and will be added to my daily skincare routine.

Clear runny gel wash has pleasant scent. Wish it came in a pump bottle, as I have to be careful when dispensing. After removal of makeup/zinc sunscreen I use it as a second wash. Also as only wash when not wearing spf or makeup (most often not).

Usually after regular foaming washes (or milk ones) my skin feels uncomfortable and tightened. Not after using this wash! Leaves my skin so silky, clean, not stripped and skin is so comfortable. Never tight.

Love silky juicy feel of the skin after wash. Not dry feel I used to get after similar products. I think this wash is so effective as it had a good pH due to acid content. It is gentle and effective.

Love it and will continue repurchasing now. Creates milky and creamy foam, not huge bubbles.

L’oreal’s Revitalift Resurfacing Gel Wash was very effective in cleaning my skin. I decided to use this especially in the evening to cleanse away my make-up and any pollutants from my working day. It has a beautiful fresh oceanic scent to me and its gel consistency is easy to apply and massage onto the face.

I felt its smoothing properties upon drying my face; my skin was left feeling more refined, shinier and supple. The 3. 5% glycolic acid that is added into this product I feel is quiet powerful as the exfoliating benefit comes from this.

I’m glad that the directions remind me to wear SPF during the day as it may increase skin sensitivity – I think I will be using this only during the winter months when there is less exposure to the sun.

It’s a product that I would never have tried on my own. I’m a pretty basic kind of guy. However, this was given to me many years ago, and upon trying it, I was impressed. I love that it doesn’t take much to use.

I love that it doesn’t suds up like soap, and that it rinses easily. I don’t have to keep rinsing like I do with soap until the slickness goes away. And it leaves my face very clean without drying like soap.

this is my new go-to cleanser, I bought it on a fluke along with the dr. jart cleanser solely because of the price. I was planning to use the dr. jart one as my daily cleanser and this as one to use on occasion when my skin is feeling congested but this has become my daily cleanser! It provides really gentle exfoliation without drying out my skin at all.

It literally loosens up the dead skin cells on my face and when I rub my face with my hands they just flake off. I alternate it with the cerave hydrating cleanser in the evening, just to be on the safe side and make sure it really doesn’t dry out my skin/irritate my skin barrier from the daily use, but the way it’s transforming my complexion is blowing my mind.

This is an excellent product! It is fairly priced with no animal testing, therefore, no cruelty, I was having a slight breakout from climate change and this immediately cleared it up. After three times of massaging in with fingertips and using my electronic battery operated brush cleaning tool, voila no more slight breakout.

I have no problem massaging the product into my facial skin for a minute or two as this is good for circulation of the skin and cleansing well. My skin is combination and producing less oil as I age gracefully so I change my routine using this product a few times per week and gentler cleansers a few times a week.

At first, it dried one area but soon peeled slightly and instantly worked as a good exfoliator and cleared up the slight climate change breakout. I still use it post breakout as it cleanses deeply and exfoliates.

Upon acknowledging visibly pore tightening and skin smoothness results, I reordered this cleanser and have since ordered the toner. It takes less than a dime-size portion to foam into a soothing lather for massaging into both face and neck areas.

I keep a bottle at the bathroom sink and another in the shower. I had researched the benefits of glycolic acid for restoration of moisture, and the results from my first purchase proved this to be so.

Even the lines beneath and at the corners of my eyes have been smoothed to barely noticeable, and my CC Cream face makeup now glides on more evenly. I also recommend Reviva Eye Complex Firming Cream to enhance the results of this cleanser.

Worth every penny!! I first used this when I slept over my friend’s dorm and I remember seeing an improvement in my acne the next morning. However, it wasn’t until last week when I actually remembered about it and decided to buy my own.

For the past year or so I have had nonstop acne on my cheeks which I’ve been unable to control. The top photos are from May 30th and the bottoms ones are today (June 8th) and ALL my acne is gone from using this product! The only thing I have left is some scaring Which will hopefully fade before too long.

For the first time in years I left the house without feeling like I had to cover my face with a hat if I wasn’t wearing makeup! I will say after a week of using this product every day my skin has started to feel very dry around my nose and mouth so going forward I plan on only using this every 3 or 4 days now that it’s done the work getting rid of all my breakouts.

I was given this by a make up artist that I used to work with when I began complaining about my complexion dulling as I got older. She immediately whipped this out when I was discussing purchasing a much more expensive product and said don’t waste your money.

I’ve loved this face wash. I normally stick to pretty neutral face washes, so this was new to me. I don’t use it every day, but alternate nightly. Important to note: did not dry out or negatively affect my skin in any way.

It definitely has brightened my complexion and helped with some skin discoloration from sun damage around the hairline. Always a repurchase. Bottle lasts a long time which is always a plus!.

If you want fast results, this is the product for you. I’ve used it only 4-5 times, and my skin is definitely smoother. I’ve tried so many different skincare products and only 5% of them gives actual results like this cleanser.

My skin is so smooth and it’s fading my post-acne marks! It does dry out my skin, so I regulate how often I use it. I use it in the shower so that my pores open up and it can sink in. Any cleanser is supposed to sit on the skin for a minute or so, so that it actually does something.

If you wash it off right away, you’re wasting your money. Make sure to use a sunscreen while using this product, though. Glycolic acid makes skin more sensitive to the sun.

If you’re not a fan of fragrance some Badescu products may not be for you bc some are heavily scented with this one being in that category (listed as fragrance, linalool, limonene). I personally prefer scented products usually never react unless it’s a high concentration of lavender.

I do, however, wish Badescu didn’t use as much fragrance as they do in some products. One major thing about this cleanser that I love is I have the formula. Mainly the AHA’s for the gentle exfoliation provided.

I do not rely on this to remove a thick SPF just bc it is too gentle of a cleanser (have no idea how it performs with makeup bc I no longer wear any). I mainly use this in the evenings as a quick cleanse when I’m tired bc there is no foaming or lather involved.

Format itself has quite an oily texture to it the first couple secs on cleansing, that oily texture slowly starts dissipating once I really start massaging the cleanser in. Because of the humectants included this is more hydrating than I initially thought it would be.

If I use this during the winter though I make sure to follow up by layering with a thicker Toner, Essence, Serum, Moisturizer etc. The gel is at a nice ratio as far as the viscosity goes…it isn’t such a thick consistency that it pulls.

I store this w/other…what I like to call, “vampire” products bc of the ingredients in the formula (the fruit extracts mainly) to help with stabilization/shelf life. This formula does contain quite a bit of ingredients that some may frown upon.

I I’m a fan of preservatives for many different reasons that are pretty self explanatory. If you don’t like using formulas with preservatives, fragrances or parabens this is not for you. There is additional colorants in this product so if you’re allergic or reactive to certain colorants peek the list to ensure it’s not one you may react to.

The price point is affordable with the 8oz running around $14 or the 16oz for $24 (Amazon currently has these on sale as of posting this…16oz for $18). I usually wait until Ulta is having a sale on MB (which is quite often) to replenish products I need.

I think I paid like $3. 50 for a BUNCH of little sample products! This stuff works. I’ve never had acne but my face recently has been getting little bumps with no heads, and I don’t know why. I began using Mario Badescu products over a decade ago, after trying some of their samples. After having a failed back surgery, I was left with limited mobility needed a product I could use without requiring me to stand at my bathroom sink.

Vitamin C with AHA-acids is bad company. Vitamin C already loses its activity very quickly, and oxy-acids will simply destroy it. Also, niacinamide should not be mixed with oxy-acids. In an acidic environment, it breaks down into ammonia, so the best thing you will get with this mix is a strong redness of the face.

The smell of a very obtrusive citrus. So be careful when choosing facial care! Don’t be like me! Now you can throw it away! Or smear my horse’s hooves).

I was sent this product to provide my honest review. I love the design of this bottle, the pump was easy to press and dispersed the perfect amount of product. The foam itself was light, felt great on my skin and smelled like oranges, but not overwhelmingly so.

It was also super easy to apply and to wash off, just a little water and it washed off clean without any drying residue. I have sensitive skin and had no issues with this formula at all. It really helped with my hormonal acne and made my skin look amazing after only a week of using it as directed.

I received this cleanser as a gift for my honest review and I have to say. I am SO happy this is what I got! The bottle design is modern and I have no issues leaving it out on my counter. Only negative is that it doesn’t take off my waterproof mascara, but a quick swipe with eye makeup remover before I wash my face does the trick. The foam is luxurious in feel, cleans thoroughly and has a light citrus scent that smells crisp, not fake or overly fruity/sweet.

I have acne-prone, sensitive skin. I had been using Murad’s Time Release Cleanser for years now and it had been working wonders for me because it contains salicylic acid. But recently, something changed in my skin and I realized I needed a change.

So, I decided to go away from salicylic acid. SkinCeuticals is the first brand I usually look at. I found this cleanser, googled about it, and saw people saying nice things about it. I had to try it.

It’s only been a few weeks but I can already tell, it’s amazing! It didn’t lather which meant that it won’t dry my face, and it didn’t. I also feel like it’s taking care of the whiteheads I get sometimes which is exactly why I bought it!.

Glycolic cleanser used in am & pm. I also use nightly renewing complex. Little goes a long way! Skinceuticals is a brand that is effective and you can trust. My mature skin quickly improved using this product combined with Skinceuticals Glycolic 10 Renew Overnight.

Acne has plagued me since my 20’s. It has cleared nearly all breakouts but one or two minor blemishes per month. Also, improvement seen in the texture of my skin – brightened and smooth; I saw a noticeable difference within 3 weeks!! You must slowly introduce to skin to avoid dryness, as well as USE SUNSCREEN daily and apply often when you are out in sun! It does make you more sensitive to sun! I like the consistency, it almost feels like aloe vera gel. it’s so soothing & cool I wasn’t sure anything was happening at first, so I rebelled against professional advice and washed my face with it every day, until a small wound appeared on my forehead! So I learned to take acid cleansers more seriously, and now I alternate with the Soothing Foam Cleanser.

My skin texture is improved, it feels more like it did in my youth. Recommended!.

I cannot stress enough just how amazing this stuff is. I have been struggling for years now with random breakouts, hormone acne, oily AND dry skin. I’ve tried dozens of products of all different prices and this is THE best.

I really love this cleanser. Even though it is stronger than what you can get at a drug store, I have only peeled once and it was very minimal. Definitely leaves your face feeling clean and renewed; you can notice a difference after one use.

Using this regularly helps a myriad of skin issues if you are unable to afford regular facials or peels!.

I tried the glycolic mousse cleanser. Not sure if the foaming wash is the same one. So my review is for the glycolic mousse cleanser. I really loved it. I tried a Deluxe sample; and encouraged me to choose it again for a work gratis item.

This is a great product for facial cleansing and I have used it for years. It can be difficult to obtain at times, but Walmart has been successful in keeping it available and for a good price. What this product truly needs is a bulk refill, like liquid soap.

The pump container opens and the pump can be reused for the product. If there were a bulk liquid supply, you could simply pour the liquid into the dispenser to reuse it. The manufacturer is missing a golden opportunity to reduce the price of this product and avoid the waste that goes along with disposal of empty containers that are perfectly available for reuse! It is a good product.
