I especially appreciated Anne’s unique way of expressing herself as she emphasized the importance of worship in all of our prayers. “Make the time to center down on who God is,” she exhorts. “Centering down” on God’s faithfulness, His righteousness, His goodness, and His power will put to rest any slight suspicion that God may be holding out us – or that He might want anything other than what’s best for His children.

In the Introduction she challenges you to prayer. As a nation we are so busy that we forget to pray. I mean to really devote time to sit in God’s presence and pray. This part actually got to my heart because I know that I have been guilty lately of just sitting in God’s presence.

I do however try to pray constantly through the day, but I fall short of stopping to give God his time. One thing in this book that touched me was that the Daniel Prayer is to pray until your prayer is answered.

It’s not easy or quick or without sacrifice. “It involves reading and pleading God’s promises. ” This book shows you person by person that used prayer in their life to overcome. Part 4 is the Patterns for Prayers which help lead you in the prayer you need for your battle.

At the back of the book is an area where you can write your prayers out. This is a great book for those ready to increase their prayer life and see answers. The hardback book is white with a dark binding.

Excellent! I didn’t realize there was a Daniel’s prayer and the power behind it- but this book offers even more. Love how she sheds some different light on some simple things I have known or read for many years.

I found my first copy of this book in a thrift store and bought it to try it out. I loved it so much that I went through the book three times. Then my family started going through it together and doing a 40-day prayer challenge.

When I read the title and author I was drawn back in my mind to the day I married my husband in a church. It was the very church where Tozer preached to people. There are other writings of Tozer that are also rich in teaching and if possible read about Tozer’s life.

Tozer was a man who sought hard after God and in this book he challenges all to live a life fully and completely for God. Some of the chapter themes were convicting as I read and realized God was speaking to my heart about where He is working.

Other times I was challenged in my thoughts or comforted emotionally. There is always room for the believer to grow in becoming more Christ like and this book is one where words of exhortation are delivered without apology.

Prayers are given to aid the person in asking for the Lord’s help hand or voice. Nothing replaces the Bible; however there are authors who have written what God has laid on their heart to share with others in the hopes of drawing them near to Him.

Tozer is one such author. The book was originally published in 1948 and some of the problems that we see in the Body needing to be addressed are addressed by the author. Draw near to the heart of the author as he points the reader to the heart and mind of our God!.

The Pursuit of God is not for the curiosity seeker; but for those investigators who desire a deeper understanding of just who is God and their personal relationship to him. The pure in heart ( not a perfect heart ) Will not come away, unrewarded! To know about God is one thing; but to say you know God is altogether different.

Man was made for the most intimate relationship imaginable with his Creator. Highly recommend the pursuit.

Moving from a psychology approach to God into a biblical approach and applying the lessons God wants to teach, instead of questioning why, makes the idea of shattered dreams an oxymoron. When I realized that shattered dreams were my dreams or plans and not God’s, then and only then could I accept the fact that God’s “dreams” do not shatter! His thoughts for me are for good and to give me a future and a hope (Jer 29:11) and not to harm me but to conform me to His image.

Dr. Crabb has touched a real nerve with me in returning me from the humanist approach to life (I am the be all and end all of my existence) into the John 15:5 approach. “without God I can do nothing”.

In taking what I perceived to be shattered dreams and molding them into His plan, I have a future and a hope. Not based on my goodness, but based on the imputation of my sin to His son and His imputing His Son’s righteousness to me.

I think Dr. Crabb has been able to bridge a gulf which I have always felt existed between psychology and Christianity. I highly recommend this book and recent books by him, especially if you are struggling to understand how psychology and biblical principles can meld together into a cohesive world view.

An inspiring and challenging topic and great insight. Larry has helped me to think through my own perspectives on how God shows His constant faithfulness in my own life.

Awesome book that is so true, yet most “Christians” won’t want to hear because they have been dumbed down to believe only what they want to hear as the end times prophecies warned us about. The wanting their “ears tickled” as it was said.

A paperback only book that is well worth a hard cover, Escaping from Eden will be kept on my book shelf and reread as long as it holds up. It is as interesting to read his words as it is to hear him speak.

As you read along you really get the feeling that this man, Raul Wallis, believes what he says in the book. He’s not just selling you something to read, “a good story”. If you have ever heard or read, “Beware of those who come in the name of the Lord”, this book and Paul Wallis may help you better understand who has come in the name of the Lord (or God).

He speaks of ignored writings that predate the stories that are recited on Saturday or Sunday, the ones that make you rub your head and say, “how could the, loves us all God, do that to a man who is not a whole day old?” and “who is, Us and Our, and what Image are we created in that can’t be seen?”.

Then he explains how the two are most likely one, and why with an open mind and a look back to the places we cannot understand how they did what they did when they did it we may find answers. Amazing things if created today, but we can’t do what they did because they were smarter than us.

Their words tell of us and how we came to be and Escaping from Eden, helps you to understand we should think again before we disregard them.

Paul Wallis goes about tackling biblical issues and questions I’ve had unanswered for a lifetime. This relatively small book is, for me, a starter kit for getting to the truth of many scriptural conundrums that went unattended as I grew up in church and sought to find closure throughout my life.

Paul is on you tube and covers many, many issues concerning biblical, historical and anthropological mysteries. Highly recommend checking in with him every now and then.

A very thought provoking book well researched and written, Paul wallis puts his ideas forward in a very clear way given us a highly possible insight into our ancient past. Certainly not a new topic but very on trend at the moment, I would have liked the book to have touched on the Demiurge /Archons and have been a little longer but all in all a enjoyable read I will be purchasing the scars of eden in the near future.

So encouraging no matter what you are going through. Love how the author dissects & really points out the facts about the Israelites, Egyptians, the Red Sea & how God orchestrated things & used situations to deliver His messages & accomplish His works in His people.

He reminds us through the scriptures that God knows exactly where we’re at in our situations. He hasn’t left, hasn’t forgotten; He’s actually using the situations to work out good for His children & His Glory.

Have read through it a couple times already.

I love this book. Was in the hospital 12 days and the chapters of this book were highlighted daily with human interest stories. I was sold on the inspiration and love presented. My son surprised me with my first copy and I have since bought three more as gifts.

I heard of Francis Chan only a few months ago. None of the sermons I’ve seen or heard online contained anything that concerned about his doctrine. In fact, his constant reference to the Bible are a source of comfort and confirmation that his teaching is sound.

And this, coupled with an unworldly attitude to money and possessions, means I’m interested in hearing more. So, I bought the book. Please excuse the long intro, but it’s needed as a foundation for this review.

The book is simply but powerfully written. He challenges our thinking about God, and our relationship with God, or rather what we think about God’s interest in us, with our many imperfections. This is challenging.

And rightly so. God loves us, but we apply so many conditions in the relationship that we often fail to be free to love God fully. Please read and ponder the book. and embrace all that God does in blessing!.

This is a very good read, I don’t want to add any spoilers but, I can say if you feel like you need some guidance in your journey with God, or you’ve hit a rut and don’t know how to escape than you can use this book as a manual to get back on top.

Or even (maybe especially) if you feel like you are on the right track. It’s an opportunity to truly reflect on where you want to go as a Christian and how you’re going to get there. I absolutely love the delivery and it has some very compelling questions.

I will say however,that like most Christian books, I’ve read, it often feels like if you didn’t grow up in church you wouldn’t be able to relate. And that you might feel a sense of shame concerning certain things like your sexual history before being saved.

Although perhaps not the writers intention, I always tend to feel that way. All in all I highly recommend this book.

One of the best books I have read to date. I like books written by Christians of the late 1800s or early 1900s. Men like John Lake, Hudson Taylor, John Wesley. Great teachers and Evangelizers. Until Unity by Chan is a great read also.

This book is an awesome. If you want to see God in a different light, read this book. It helps to strengthen in the midst of battle or before battle. It helps you to shift your mind set in a positive way.

Through reading this book, my faith has increased in who God is, what God can do, and how God operates. It was so good to me, that I used it to be a blessing for others to read. We use this book for a ministry group of women once a month.

The author of this book is a good inspirational speaker as well. Her materials are uplifting and motivates others to look for the best in who they are.

Someone recommended that I read God is Able. I could not find it in any book store so used Ebay to find a copy. I ordered a copy, read it and found it so inspirational and compelling that I kept the copy I ordered and ordered two more copies to give to friends.

Don’t miss reading this book. Also, even though the books I ordered were used, they were in very good condition. I was extremely happy with my orders.

A friend recommended this book to me, and I am happy to say that it was an excellent recommendation. The first thing that got my attention was in the Introduction. It read “If I were Satan and my ultimate goal was to thwart God’s kingdom and purpose, one of my main strategies would be to get churchgoers to ignore the Holy Spirit”.

This book really held my interest; I couldn’t put it down, and after I finished reading it, I read it again. I intend to keep on reading it over and over and in the meantime, I have truly found the Holy Spirit! I highly recommend this book.

If you are a Christian the Holy Spirit lives in you. This book reminds us of this, as well as how important He is. Dont leave Him out. He is, after all, one of the Trinity. A very good read.

We bought this ebook for a Bible Study at our church. In looking it up before we purchased we were hesitant to buy but we decided to go ahead with the class. The underlying exegesis is lacking. Things seem to picked out of here and there and throw together into a book and Study Guide.

It also seems to foster the notion that people are afraid of the Holy Spirit or some such. It is confusing and it is hard to grasp what the author is really trying to say about the Holy Spirit.

Mr. Dobson is lovingly & graciously to the point and covers all areas of unrealistic expectations, excuses, and fears! This book will help anyone, as Job & Jonah & myself, humbly go to their knees in gratitude and appreciation for the Lords love towards us.

This book has touched so many lives that this is the third one I have gotten to share with friends and family. Finding good books on e-bay is a way I can afford to do that. I have had great success in finding copies of the quality and style of books many of my friends and family enjoy and hope to do so often in the future.

Condition was excellent, like new! Awesome guide when tragedy or hardship comes, when easy-to-read about God’s goodness, purpose and reminder of our own finite mental abilities against God’s Infinite ability to “The future ahead” that we cannot see.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS DEVOTIONAL We here the phrase How Great Is Our God all of the time, we sing the song, we talk about it, and now we have a devotional that kids can read about the greatness of our God.

This Devotional has 200 indescribable devotions that go through the Bible with amazing stories of God. The devotions are on a child’s level, they are short, there are pictures on the pages that go with what the kids are reading.

Another thing with each devotion is a section that says HOW GREAT. I think this section is great for the kids because it is a scientific fact about something that goes along with the devotions. Like one of the devotions talk about Butterflies and the scientific facts are about Butterflies.

Which I found amazing because it’s something I’d never heard! So you can see adults can benefit from this great book as well. This is a really great book of devotions. The book itself is beautiful with its blue cover and the globe with all of the kids at different places in the world.

And as you can see in the pictures that the inside is just as attractive, with pictures of kids and they are pictures that will capture any kids attention. If you are looking for a new devotions for the kids in your life, this would make an amazing Christmas gift or stocking stuffer! Though it says it’s for ages 6-10, I know younger kids that would love these devotions read to them.

This book is awesome! It’s not just for children because it contains lots of interesting information about the Creation and our awesome Creator. I’m only about 1/4 into the book but it is certainly capturing my attention.

I’m not currently working with any children because I attend a very small church which, like many churches, shrunk because of the pandemic. However, I’m hoping to return to my volunteer work at a local middle school this fall.

One of the things that I appreciate about the book is that it will appeal to a wide age range. I’m certain that my middle school students well enjoy it as much as I do!.

my husband reads this book to our son and foster son every morning before school. They all (including my husband!) enjoy it thoroughly, as it has so much interesting stuff in it! It is well made, and could probably be read more than once just because there is so much information to absorb.

I would definitely recommend to any family. Our ten year old loved it, but all ages find it interesting!.

One of the better books by Michio Kaku. He goes through history of physics and cosmology and a good book that is fairly easy to understand by average non scientists like me.

This is a great example of a brilliant mind putting together a summary of their views. It’s crafted exceptionally well and provokes thought. It is a shorter read than we’d expected, but totally worth it.

I was really pleased to get to page 85 before I realised I wasn’t equipped to cope. Really good style and content. I love to know that there are people who can do this stuff!

This book works great in small groups of girlfriends” as well as for individual study. The most amazing aspect of this book is that you don’t have to understand God to trust him. The phrase “Just trust me” is something we hear just before something bad happens or just before a betrayal so it’s hard today to “just trust” anyone.

We live in a world where we’re more comfortable taking control of our lives yet we’re constantly told to trust God and we say it but do we mean it? Do we really trust God? What does trusting God look like? Often times it’s surprising what it really looks like.

This is my favorite book by Jerry Bridges. It has helped me tremendously when facing the extremely hard challenges I have had to face. I highly recommend this book; it will guide you to a point where you can fully trust in God’s sovereign plan for your life.

“Trusting God” is my go to book when I am having difficulties and trials in my life. It is such a wonderful reminder of Gods sovereignty. Its a book that no matter what you are going through, makes you feel and KNOW, that everything is going to be OK no matter the outcome because God is in total control.

I have several copies that I give to other suffering Christians.

A gorgeously written book with great characters and a wonderful story.

Very different style of writing to other books as much of it is in Afro-American dialect which takes a bit of effort but well worth it. Very well written and good story line. I can see why it is considered to be one of the best books of that era predating the year of first publication (1937).

To be very honest, I started this novel five times and put it down five times. Their Eyes Were Watching God is written in a very heavy Southern dialect and I could not always make sense of the writing.

I decided that I would give it one more go on vacation and finally was able to complete the novel. Glad I did as this is a beautiful coming of age story but done on the main characters own terms.

Got this for my daughter’s school reading. She loved the book and is looking forward to reading more from this author. She said that although it was written so long ago, the writing style was easy to read and understand.

I had to read this book very slowly. Sitting with each journal entry. It’s an amazing book that shows you how you can pray and actually hear from God. It’s honest and real and it’s been a huge blessing to my journey.

I just finished reading this book and I can’t wait to read it again. I have not heard God say anything to me yet but I feel the thought processes that John goes through are the key to my listening for God.

He has a unique way of listening for God’s voice. I am so thankful for this book and for how it will bring me closer to God.

My father was a Minister of Religion and hence in my younger life I got a little sick of the hypocrosy associated with so to put my father straight I read the Bible by the time I was four and can still at 83 quote you a large portion of it.

The Old Testament was a lot too far fetched to be realistic to my young active mind. Then having read and absorbed the New Testament I also found some it un comprehensible. Hence now at the ripe young age of 83 I am still studying and reading about what my parents found so intriguing and facinating and I will still be trying to come to terms with my GOD until my dying day as I payer to him each and every day.

My wife whom just recently died was brought up the Catholic for which I have little time for.
