20 Best God Eater Game (2022 Updated)

I have purchased a lot of collectors editions in the past. This one is in my top 10 best, and most bang for your buck. The dice are good and I cant wait to use them in DnD. The hammer is okay and is about the quality i expected.

Wish the hammer was heavier or just didnt feel super plastic but i am okay with it. Box is amazing. Almost dont want to throw it away.

Absolutely struck gold getting the pre order through back in July. It’s a very good, extremely rare edition. The big drawback here is you get a digital voucher instead of a disc; which is sacrilege for collectors, but that’s an indictment on SONY, not Best Buy.

Game looks and plays amazing. The extras that come with this version are pretty cool and the Mjolnir replica is awesome. However, it is made entirely of plastic so it feels a bit cheap. A great piece to display but don’t think too much of it.

The D&D dice are awesome, though!.

Because one best action games kinded similar like monster hunter but way better really enjoying it the switch.

Controls are easy enough to understand Combat feels like it actually has some weight Voice Acting is great Visually good (even if you are fighting in ruined cities)

Sealed, untouched, with both GE Resurrection and GE Rage Burst inside, nt to mention the wallpaper.

For PARENTS. This game is rated M, FOR MATURE. Equivalent to an R-rated movie. A 5 year old should not be playing it, and if they are, don’t knock the product because you chose to ignore the rating ON THE BOX.

If your looking for a more appropriate shark game for younger kids, check out “Hungry Shark World. ” Also a fun game with multiple sharks, way less gore. May be digital only, so you may have to get it through the cosole.

Man Eater is a good Jaws-type, RPG-lite game. Somehow it manages to put a story to a shark game and it’s pretty well done. There’s a bit of grinding, like any RPG, but the core game and exploration are fun enough that it distracts from the fact you’re grinding.

If you’re looking for something different than “another shooter game,” give this a try. For $20 you can’t go wrong. And if you like shark games, like I mentioned above, try the console version (not mobile version) of Hungry Shark World.

Both go about being a shark in completely different ways. Both are fun. Happy Hunting! And PARENTS. please pay attention to the ratings for games on the box. If it’s not Nintendo, there are mostly Adult-themed games on these consoles.

I love aquatic games so this was a definite buy from me. Unfortunately it’s launch was marred by glitches and bugs in the game that prevented it from getting good reviews. However those bugs have now been patched out and the game runs as it was intended.

And it’s a blast! You play a shark eating every animal in sight as you grow and eat larger and larger species. You can unlock power ups to speed up or help you with fighting boats. The whole game plays out like a documentary/reality tv series with running jokes and commentary by the narrator, Chris Parnell.

There’s even a collect-a-thon aspect to it as you eat up license plates and uncover landmarks with hilarious commentary as you encounter each one. This summer new (paid) DLC is coming with more content so you can look forward to that.

This game is just pure dumb fun. You play as a shark who is just trying to survive in the world (all while a narrator makes cheesy jokes along the way). Want to eat some fish? Go for it. Want to jump onto land and start attacking tourists? Go for it.

There’s a very loose story but it doesn’t serve much of a purpose. Just something to signify that you’ve pretty much done everything in the game. If you’re looking for a game with a story, this isn’t it.

The game looks great when it comes to visuals. My only complaint is that it can start to lag a little bit if there’s too much going on at once (like eating way too many fish back-to-back at once in a crowded part of the game).

Overall a great game. Definitely recommend if you just want to turn off your brain for a bit.

The case was punctured and cracked when i received it in the mail, but the disc was okay though. The game itself is an interesting take on a sci-fi horror. You wake up in some strange room into some weird world with no back story to how you got there, but the game pushes you along in what feels very linear.

I have not beat the game yet, but I probably could if waited until this one went on sale.

So far I love the atmosphere and the gameplay. The acting could be better but the that uncomfortable feeling while playing is definitely there. Great with headphones on

I think you will really enjoy this futuristic sci-fi horror story. You unleashed this evil and now you must survive and it seems that the attacks never end. If you like these types of games you will love this one.

Graphics: This is the best-looking game on the PS3. The lighting, texture, art-style, performance and visual effects are just absolutely magnificent. The character models are very detailed too and the animation is superb.

Gameplay: The combat is better than ever, this time you stick with the blades of chaos throughout the game but can use 4 different elements (fire, ice, soul, electricity) to change how they work. Then there’s 5 world weapons to use and 2 artifacts to control time and clone yourself.

The platforming is better than ever, the puzzles are brilliant and the game is responsive, fun and exciting! Story: Set 6 months after Kratos killed his wife and daughter, this is the most human Kratos has been yet and this story shows why Kratos went insane and sought to kill Ares in the first God of War.

I don’t want to spoil it but the story is great in this game, play all the other God of Wars first though to get the best understanding of it and pay attention because the games story is told in a non-linear fashion.

Sound: The original soundtrack is stunning, the sound effects are top notch, voice-acting is impeccable and the environmental sounds are superb. Some people are reporting issues with it being too quite but there’s a simple fix for this, in the sound settings menu change the sound setting from 5.

1 surround to either stereo or headphone, it makes a huge improvement. Also some minor sync issues which will be patched soon. Multiplayer: This is the most fun and unique multiplayer I’ve played in years! With 4 classes, tons of weapons and a plethora of different modes, this is a genre defining multiplayer component.

The multiplayer in this game is good enough to be a standalone game, it gives you plenty of value for money as you will become addicted to it and sink many hours of game time ripping your foes apart! Bottom line: This game is a MUST BUY! The amazing 8-10 hour single player campaign is worth it alone, however you now get a full multiplayer experience with this game and it will not disappoint any God of War fan or fans of the genre.

God of War has always been one of my all time favorite gaming experiences for two generations, and we have one more huge adventure upon us before the 7th generation closes. God of War 3 was one of the best games on PS3, with a scale unprecedented and a well realized sense of epic (hopefully you know I mean that in the dignified sense) storytelling.

Not to mention one of the all time best game play models in the action genre. Ascension follow in the first PS3 entree’s footsteps, and it’s a fitting coda for Kratos on the PS3. At the end of the day, Ascension is simply another great game that sheds even more light on Kratos and his long journey throughout the series.

That’s pretty much what I wanted from this release. If you are a God of War fan, you’ll want to pick up the next chapter in Krato’s saga. Story wise, Ascension is the first game chronology. What’s new this time around is Ascension’s attempt to give Kratos a much more human side, instead of the downright off-putting, and downright scary at times, Kratos of the later series that most certainly polarizes people (and one that certainly causes debate amongst gamers, but I’ll refrain from ranting regarding that notion.

Indeed, Ascension is pretty much marked by Kratos as he was during the early days of service to Ares and the others, and Kratos is certainly more of a mortal than a man; you can just tell he is at this particular state.

This time around, The Furies are to blame for his troubles, and, as you might expect, Kratos is on another journey to track them down. I won’t spoil the story, but what follows is what you would expect from a God of War game, with a more human Kratos being the point of the story.

He suffers, suffers, and suffers some more.

It was good because we get to know more about kratos past. I didn’t give the five stars because when I played it I was wager to finish and see the story that I forgot to actually enjoy. also the graphics and the old controls didn’t help getting into the mood.

This is by far one of my favorite games. Played through on the PS3 back in the day. The PS4 version brings all that amazing gameplay up to current visuals for modern consoles and looks just beautiful.

I’ve been playing it on my Playstation 5 and am still in awe of how good this game looks and plays. The new God of War “soft reboot” from 2018 is a good game, don’t get me wrong. But the I don’t care for games that rely heavily on crafting and that’s a big part of the new GOW.

To go back to a simpler time in this franchise is refreshing. Using the right analog stick for the dodge roll and not a camera does take some getting used to, but it’s a great mechanic once you’re there.

Seriously, just buy this game. Not sure what it looked like on PS3 but looks great on PS4. The gameplay is what continues to impress me. In my opinion, this was the last real (and maybe the best) God of War game.

GOW 4 changed up the gameplay, but GOW 3 is where it’s at to me. One of the final battles where you are facing enemies of all kinds is just incredible.

Really fun game, I know God of War really blew up when the soft-reboot “God of War” came out on PS4. I prefer the earlier games that were more about absurd, over the top combat with the story being pretty good but not the main focus.

So, if you’re looking for absurd fights and set pieces but aren’t looking for an attempt to redeem one of gamings most irredeemable characters, this is for you. It’s a PS3 game that does not look out of place on the PS4 and the framerate is much welcomed at 60fps.

Considering how cheap this got, I double dipped for the PS4 version after beating it years ago on PS3. Worth it honestly.

Although I was skeptical to begin with about playing this and how different it would be to Odyssey, I admit after a reasonable amount of play time I’ve come to appreciate certain things about the game.

These for me personally are: The Stunning Visuals – They are very intone with the viking theme and feel of the game and are just generally amazing. In some ways they even sort of Out do Odyssey, partly because they look a bit more polished, and partly because they have a more ‘natural’ feel to them.

Viking Culture – this aspect in my opinion is done more or less flawlessly, from the look of the characters down to the very small, but entertaining dialogue moments while sailing to raid locations. It very much feels like you’re playing an episode of Vikings, and I think that definitely says something.

I also love how you can use the some of the resources you raid to build up your own settlement, which adds to the authentic viking experience. The Combat – Although not as varied and stylized as Odyssey, it still manages to be fun and engaging thanks to it’s gritty realism (I swear every time I see a head go flying I have moment of sheer adulterated bliss).

The Length – I can already tell this is going to be a much shorter game, and for someone who juggles demanding full-time work with a two year old, that is indeed a Godsend. 170+ hours is waaay to long to spend on one game that doesn’t hold up the balance with story and characters (Odyssey) All in all, if you’ve been curious about giving this a try, I say go for it! P.

S. If you do decide to go for the extra stuff (which you will, trust me), go for the mysteries, as there is a great variety of things to do and most of them are reasonably short and sweet 10/10.

If you are looking for a game with a structured story line that allows you to play the part of a clear protagonist then look past AC (Assassins Creed) Valhalla as you will not find that here. If you like the idea of your primary requirement for progression being to raid, kill and pillage innocent villages and monasteries and burn down the cottages of suffering villagers then by all means this is the game for you! In addition you also get the choice to have an affair with the wife of your best friend and adopted brother.

Super! It really makes you feel like a genuine hero. =-/ I gave up hope on the AC series after AC Unity. I tried to give the series a chance again with Odyssey and Origins but was unimpressed. That being said, I liked the story of both WAY better then Valhalla.

Despite my negative opinion of the AC series recently, after seeing awesome commercials and reading rave reviews I had a renewed hope for the series and decided to get the game. After 50 hours playing the game waiting for things to make sense, provide a sense of purpose and for the story-line to evolve into one where the main character Eivor becomes a good guy I came to the realization that was never going to happen and here I am writing this review.

The final straw for me was when a Viking comrade (Ivarr) tricks you (Eivor) into attacking an opposing king (After a Peace deal was made) by framing that opposing king for the murder of a mutual friend.

Ok, whatever, I can deal with that you gotta come up with creative reasons to fight big battles. After all, its just a game. The part that absolutely disgusted me is after the battle you are forced to standby while Ivarr tortures the King (who had previously bested Ivarr in a battle and let Ivarr go instead of killing him).

No matter what you decide for in game choices (1 – Let the king go, 2 – Let him die from his wounds, 3 – Ok Ivarr do w/e it is you want to do to the king) the game ends up with you watching Ivarr torture a guy for something he didn’t do.

Furthermore, Ivarr is the one who framed the king and actually killed the mutual friend. If your like me your wondering what the point of in game choices are if they don’t effect the outcome. Clearly the choices are superficial.

That’s lame. Final note – If you may find yourself offended by consistent smears, comments and attacks on the christian faith throughout this game I would advise you to avoid AC Valhalla. Thank you UBISoft for taking a fantastic series that began with Altaïr and Ezio dragging it through the mud while simultaneously riding its coat tails.

The quality Story, Cinematic Cut Scenes, Fighting Style, Stealth requirement and Character/Plot development I came to know and love in the AC series seen in Altaïr and Ezio’s time is gone and clearly it is not coming back.

I’ve played every Assassins Creed since Brotherhood. It‘s fantastic how the series continues to evolve. Valhalla is an evolution from the previous two titles with its RPG-lite mechanics yet its bigger and in fresher more densely packed environments.

Why I was initially saddened to leave the beautiful snow capped mountains of Norway I was soon pleasantly surprised with the very vibrant almost Witcher-esque fantasy environment of the 9th century British Isles.

The fog, lighting and shading so beautiful I thought it had ray tracing. While some of the combat and actual task can get a little bit repetitive they do a good job of changing it up as each region has its own storyline and different objectives.

The raids are a nice touch. The base game is nice and long yet holds my interest. The cinematics and scripted parts are very well done, as I come to expect from this enduring series.

I just bought this game a couple of days ago and I’ve already beat it! I found this game at Game Stop for $7 and too me that’s a steal! I like the graphics and the style of the game. I really like the fact a person can play different stages; single, multi player, battles, etc.

There is just so much a person can do on this game. If a person is really good at fighting and likes to game a lot, within a couple days you can beat it. On the plus side, if you’re a super hero fan you’ll definitely love this game!.

When I first retrieved my game, I was overjoyed. I was so overjoyed that I didn’t notice I got the Regular version of Injustice instead of the Ultimate Edition as advertised. I brushed that off and decided I’d just buy the DLCs.

The DLCs would delete themselves sometimes but I assumed it was the Xbox. Things however started getting a bit worse, because not a month in that I bought a DLC, my main menu began to skip like crazy.

I had to restart the game entirely a few times to get it to actually load the battles. In the end, just a few days my game officially died. The entire main menu was Blank White and the game will not load a thing now.

And it’s truly a shame, because I absolutely loved this game for the time I played it. I kept such good care of it and always kept it safely in it’s case. None of my other games are reacting this way on my Xbox 360 and are working fine, so I am inclined to believe I had recieved a damaged or poorly cared for CD.

I bought DLCs when I shouldn’t have had to, and so now I’m updating my review to this product. It was okay in the beginning, but the game lasted two months until it died, and now it’s unplayable. Not very happy about it.

Just purchased this video game for my Xbox 360 so I cannot give a totally in depth review of it at this point. (Yes I still have a 360as my top system. ) But I have played it for about 3 hours with my kids and we think that this is one of the coolest fighter video games we have ever played for sure.

Awesome, awesome graphics!!! This game looks absolutely incredible. No glitches or slow game play anywhere whatsoever and it has a huge variety of individual moves for each character. I see there is a Injustice 2 out for the Xbox One and it looks wicked also.

In fact the graphics are even better! Maybe its about time we invested in a new 1 or 2TB game system I think. But I will still keep my 360 and wont retire it. (I have kept all of my old systems going all the way back to a Sega Genesis and a Nintendo 64.

All still wired into the entertainment system and Honestly I don’t plan on parting with any of them. Anyway, this game gets top marks from my kids and I, every which way. Don’t miss it!!!.

The age old cast from the battle between the titans and the gods of Greek mythology. A bit of a different tale, but still much the same cast. The game starts with a very long prologue, before you even get to hear details about the problems facing you.

It is kind of a trial to see if Fenyx is worthy for the main quest (Spoiler alert, he is!) So, at this point you’re probably noticing a lot of similarities between the animation and cell shading, with the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild.

This is just the beginning. In this game Typhon has escaped his chains and attacked the gods. Many of the gods have fled and some were separated from their essence and left powerless against Typhon. In breath of the wild it is Calamity Ganon wreaking havoc.

In Immortals you’re trying to restore the essence to the gods / demigods and there are 4 of them you have to do this with. With Zelda you’re trying to free the Divine beasts from Ganons Influence. There are also 4 of these.

Both games have some sort of shrine with puzzles, ridiculously large landscapes, the ability to tame wild horses, and about 5 different lands to explore. Neither Link nor Fenyx can swim very long before they get tired (a very poor mechanic honestly).

Fenyx has trinkets of the gods, Link has Runes that give him many of the same powers as Fenyx. Fenyx attains Daedalus‘ wings so he can glide. Link gets the old man’s Glider. Was Ubisoft aware of these striking similarities? Absolutely they were, as some of the NPC characters in the game make comments like, “If your weapon keeps breaking, you’re doing it wrong!” Weapons breaking in BOTW happen far too frequently for my liking honestly.

Am I saying this is a bad game? Not at all! It’s just that it has taken more than a few liberties with the creative influence that’s for sure. Of course, there are some ways that this game actually improved on BOTW as well.

Like the story, it is much more entertaining and relatable considering that even inexperienced players would know the characters in Immortals. Another thing, your weapons don’t break in this game, so you don’t have to worry about being without a weapon mid fight, when your last weapon inevitably breaks.

The bosses are known quantities as well. Cyclops, Medusa, the Minotaur, and the like are all here to make your game more challenging. It’s almost like you get to play the 1980s clash of the titans on video game form.

Some of these beasts are insanely strong too and will destroy you with 2 hits. Also, Fenyx has more than 16 masks and they have very real benefits, like boosts to damage delivered by your main weapon.

I would say Immortals is also a bit of a longer game that has less strolling around and more exploration than BOTW. Another thing, BOTW tends to keep the majority of the puzzles confined to the shrines, where Immortals will spread them out even in the God’s areas.

Oh and some of Fenyx’s horses can fly, because Pegasus was a real thing in Greek Mythology. Link’s horses really can’t do any of this. Overall it is a good game, but I wish it hadn’t borrowed so much from the BOTW formula.

Of course, if you play this before playing BOTW, you might just find yourself disappointed with Zelda.

I’ve played this game on my XBox Series X on and off (7 hours total) for about a couple of weeks so far. I’ve gotten through enough of the game to know that I like the game. It’s kind of a cross between Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Zelda.

There are enough RPG elements to strengthen your character as you progress. The graphics are fantastic! A couple of downsides for me. To perform special moves, I have to remember the various button presses.

With other games I’m playing, it’s hard to remember the combinations if I stay away for a couple of days. This is minor. The second downside is the character’s stamina system. It decreases when the character climbs or glides.

There are these blue things (sorry, I forget what they’re called) you collect throughout your journey that you can consume when your stamina runs low, which happens quite fast while climbing a tall statue or mountain or gliding.

You can consume those things before your stamina completely depletes. If not, you fall, and depending on how high up you are from a flat surface below, you will get hurt or die. I know the character can build up its maximum stamina over time, but this is not something I really want to worry about.

Perhaps, I will get used to this when I put more time into the game. I would recommend this game if you like action RPG games. I think Ubisoft did a good job with this game.

This game was enjoyable. Like a mad scientist took a little DNA from several video games and mashed it all together. Graphics were enjoyable, played this on my Xbox Series X on an LG CX OLED TV, and the picture was crisp and clear, graphics were smooth.

The two background characters you hear throughout the game, Zeus and Prometheus, are what really made this game stand out above the rest though. Their banter and comments during the game made it far more enjoyable than the game would have been without them.

Gameplay itself was good, although I wish when you maxed out health and stamina, that bonuses from armor would STILL apply. I also wish they had better armor and weapons. Everything I found throughout the game was all boring stuff that didn’t give me as good of a benefit as the actual weapons I started with.

And I only used two pieces of armor the entire game, one that gave my arrows lightning bonus damage, and one that decreased stamina usage. So the lack of rewards was disappointing. Would have been nice when you finally get the better armor towards the end if it combined a few things.

Frustrating thing for me was the camera locking on enemies though, because in the middle of a huge battle, slamming the stick around as I turned my camera POV from one enemy to another, it was far too easy apparently to click the stick and have it lock on an enemy.

And all that did was make me not able to hit what I was TRYING to hit half the time. I looked for options to disable that ability to even have the camera lock like that on an enemy, but didn’t find it.

Even my son was yelling at the TV at times when that happened in some of the major vaults and fights. Other than that, though, a thoroughly enjoyable game. I wandered and got most of the vaults and chests and such before I got too far into the storyline, so by the time I started getting to boss fights I was already seriously tough so I didn’t have issues.

If you enjoyed Link or Fable and such, this is one worth grabbing.

The whole God of War series is absolutely amazing. The storyline and characters are phenomenal! I played all the games so far in the series and they are all amazing. I would say though that I got a bit tired after awhile going through many chapters and having to complete all of them.

But, it’s completely worth it. The game is kind of pricey but worth it. I would recommend to all console gamers.

i have played all of the GOW. i love them. ascention is amazing! i love the graphics. its such a step up from the past games. the Story line of where this goes was hard to place but eventually i got it.

The difficulty is great. its challenging. The weapon upgrades are awesome and the characters are awesome. this game is just bomb!.

In a nut shell, I would describe Injustice: Gods Among Us – Pre-order Edition Includes Batman: Arkham City DLC as the mechanics of MK9, with a few added tweaks, no death moves and more interactive environments.

The story mode you will finish easily in 3 hours, and to be honest, it’s not the greatest story considering some of the characters which are in the DC catalog, but it’s good enough to keep you playing and interested in how it plays out.

There are a few additional modes to prolong its lifespan, and all in all, it is actually a very good beat ’em up. Now I’m not a massive DC comic guy or anything but I know the basic characters. I’m not keen on how Superman is looking or portrayed in this game.

Batman is as Batman always is, and so are Joker and Harley. There’s a lot of characters here that most people won’t know, that’s just because DC hasn’t been as much in the Hollywood spotlight as let’s say the Marvel cast and that’s somewhat of a downfall.

Some characters seem to be here just to make up the numbers as they’re not really that active in the story mode, which does focus around Superman, Batman and Joker as you may expect. For me, they should have included some other characters, let’s say from the Superman and Batman universe as that’s who most people will be familiar with.

But, there’s 20+ heroes and villains here to play with. As a beat ’em up though, it plays really well (if you like how MK9 plays). The character design, stage design and details in both are amazing. The levels are very interactive, and different characters react to the environments differently.

For example, Doomsday can throw items that smaller characters like the Flash can just jump or swing off and such, as he isn’t strong enough, which is really a nice touch. You can knock players through walls and into the next environment very nicely with pain filled cut scenes as they are thrown through and knocked about.

I was actually hoping for a little more though. The main let down is only a slightly weak story and lack of familiar characters that you would want to play as, which is hardly a horrible bad point. Personally MK9 is better, the story was better and there were more interesting, familiar characters.

This does have a few nice touches added, which almost make up for its shortfalls, but it’s definitely worth a blast on, you’ll enjoy it I’m pretty sure!.

Injustice: Gods Among Us sees you placed on an Earth which has had several cities destroyed by nuclear devices, killing millions of people. The person behind all of this? None other than the Joker. It’s accomplished (in comparison to other beat ’em ups) but sadly the quite brief story sees you deal with the aftermath of this, giving DC fans some unexpected twists and a darker, yet believable edge to the characters.

The inclusion of a ‘Missions’ mode also adds longevity, giving you the chance to unlock additional content whilst playing a mix of mini games and task-based brawling. The combat is nicely varied; some characters flow much better than others at the start, others work better at a distance than up close, a couple are powerhouses and a few more are athletic and agile.

When up against a human competitor, some characters can be abused for their spamming ability, but it is possible to counteract this with some characters. There are also impressive super moves, which can get a bit repetitive if used over and over, but aren’t too overdrawn and look quite flashy, whilst dealing a fair portion of damage.

However, even these are balanced, with some great mechanics meaning that taking a chance with a massive attack can leave you vulnerable further down the line. All-in-all, it’s a fantastic game. Though it will appeal more to DC fans, and there aren’t masses of combos to learn which may well be a disapproval point amongst the beat ’em up elite, it’s a well-executed take on the DC Universe which is fun to play, at least for the short/medium term.

If you previously played this game and are a fan, it’s totally worth the money. It looks great, plays great and really rekindles the fire and fun of playing this game again. You’ll be quite satisfied to revisit this gem, it looks and sounds amazing.

The camera mode they put in this game I found to be quite interesting. You can take pictures of the excellent art and work the developers put into the game and save them as wallpaper etc. If you have never played the game before or have taken a long break from it by all means give this game serious consideration.

It has some archaic mechanics like QTE’s here and there but its a classic action game with an epic over the top story of Gods and Monsters and shameless violence. God of War 2 is a personally favorite of mine with this game running up as a close second.

The PSP game Ghost of Sparta was also a very well made game I would recommend which can be found on the God of War Collection for PS3. There’s no reason not to by this classic one more time and support the series on PS4.

It’s very well made with non stop action you won’t want to put down till the end. Excelsior! The game is fully patched and updated for PS4. This is the third and final game of the trilogy which first appeared on PS3.

This is by far the best God of War game. It has the intensity of the ps2 games, but with better graphics. Interesting story too with familiar legends of Greek mythology. Not a fan of the newer versions on PS4, which seem less intense along with being more PGish.

If you like how action games with in the PS2 and PS3 version, then this is for you.

Nice graphics for 360 xbox standards alot of varies combos for attacks using Thors powers. Follows the story line of first Thor movie with Loki and the Frost giants. About 15 chapters takes a little while to beat the game.

If you like this theres a Captain America game as well which is really nice to i recommend. Sega studios did a nice job developing this game. Got a nice condition used copy for about $20 total worth every penny.

Great game for any marvel fan young or old a fun game that makes you feel. Like Thor.

Great game. Especially for being a movie tie in game. Great pics art, addictive game flow. Some might say it boring and repetitive but theyre just wrong. I have a blast every time I pick up play it. I do one section and put it down.

His abilities are fun and finding the ruins to add to your repertoire are a blast. So get it. Great little DS game.

Ultimately disappointed. I waited and waited for this game to go down in price, and once it became reasonable ($20 in store), I picked it up. I couldn’t wait to play it. And I was disappointed to find out that I’ve played this game before.

It is a exact replica of the game Ghost Rider. Thor goes around smashing people with his hammer and throwing his hammer at these blue goblin looking creatures (Ghost Rider used his chain to whip at evil creatures).

Once the goblin creatures have been killed, lights appear where their body was and when you collect them, you get points used to help level up Thor (same as Ghost Rider, except the power ups for Thor and Ghost Rider are different).

The progress through the level is the same, defeat about 20 level 1 creatures, 5 level 2 creatures, maybe 1 or 2 of these big level 3 creatures, and then the boss of the level. No creativity was put into the game, and the graphics remind me of a 2003-2004 Playstation 2 game (Probably compare to the graphics of Star Wars III : Revenge of the Sith or TimeSplitters 2).

The hands are bigger than the character’s heads. And trying to put emotion into these lifeless characters seemed too hard. So, to wrap up the negatives, it’s a straight duplicate of Ghost Rider except set in the Thor comic world and didn’t have Sam Elliott narrating, the graphics are very very poor for a PS3 game, and the creativity level was set at the lowest of bars.

Now, the positive. The score behind the game is very beautiful and really gets you in the mood. Who Should Play This Game : Kids between 7-14. They would love this for a gift (do not worry about the T for teen rating, the max the “violence” gets is Thor smashing people with his hammer, and when the character dies he falls over dead and blows up like you just blew up a LEGO set, no blood and guts).

Anyone over the age of 14 may find this to be a repetitive format amongst certain video games. Not for the experienced gamer, not challenging enough. If you’re looking for something for someone over the age of 14, I would suggest looking in to Call of Duty : Black Ops or Army of Two, something with more bang, unless the person REALLY wants this.

I would not recommend this to a friend. And even at $20, in my opinion, it’s too much for the game.

Leaving off from God of War 3 and the Greek pantheon store line, I found kratos in new territory and looking more grizzled (bearded etc). I found the new storyline to be a absolutely essential continuation of the series.

The whole game was absolutely refreshing. From the combat, to the in-game cinematic sequences, I was on the edge of my seat everytime I picked up the controller to play it. I definitely would recommend this game to anyone loyal to the series and it’s upcoming sequel, which is also set in the same Norse setting, looks to be on track to be just as good if not better.

I’m no developer nor a pro-gamer just a real big fan of this series and I feel it is a great step forward in the future for God of War.

A perfect combination of character driven story and methodical well-paced combat gives an unforgettable experience set to the backdrop of epic Norse mythology. Open to newcomers and veterans of the series alike, GoW 2018 provides a refined, captivating experience with large scale set pieces and diegesis unrivalled in most other games of the genre.

The only limitations come in the form of some combat-centric camera issues, and some enemies that break the mechanical limitations of the player leading to minor frustrations. Some odd narrative pacing often leads to long down times in active play, but often this is compensated for by interesting glimpses into the world.

The combat shines in 1-on-1 arena type fights but provides enough variety and style to make horde type battles enjoyable. If you have a PS4 (or PS5 for that matter) you should play GoW.

This is definitely closer to Uncharted 4 than Breath of the Wild — at least for the first several hours. I haven’t made it super far into the game, but early on you’re not really allowed to explore the world.

It’s very linear and scripted, but the game itself is sorta blended with the “movie” aspects, so it has a nice seamlessness style with it. An apt comparison to Zelda games, though, is all the puzzles.

It’s all very environmental and blended into the scenery, and you have to solve the puzzles to move forward through the world kind of like a permanent zelda dungeon. The only awkward part — besides the sorta painfully obvious tropes — is how there’s so much restriction to go along with the story.

Again, I don’t know if this is only the first portion of the game, and I just haven’t made it to where things open up further. but it reminds me so far of being like a much much much more restricted version of “Horizon: Zero Dawn”.

That too has an early story part, and of course Breath of the Wild has the plateau, but they’re really just restricted portions of the game that teach the mechanics. God of War, though, feels like it’s restricting sooooo much so that you can follow along the story — a lot more like an Uncharted kind of game.

You basically follow a super limited path until you get to an open-ish area, and then that area turns into a big fight arena, you beat the baddies or maybe fight a boss or mini boss, and then you move forward with some puzzles and bonuses if you’re willing to explore and look for stuff on the side.

but if you look around toooo much, you’ll find that there’s basically nothing in most places. I’m still early in the game, and it gives the impression that the game opens up and places become areas to return to and go through again, but I haven’t seen any of that yet, and with the amount of time I’ve put in so far, games like “Horizon: Zero Dawn” and “Breath of the Wild” would have already opened up to the “open world” aspect.

Basically, it’s like an Uncharted version of “Horizon: Zero Dawn” that’s promising the open world freedom and side missions and things, but maybe it’s just a different kind of balance between freedom and story, and this is just leaning more towards story.

The axe is super friggin’ dope, though, and playing on harder difficulties really requires you to coordinate a LOT to deal with even just 2, let alone 15 baddies at the same time. Especially as you have like flaming rock throwing monsters on ledges and crazy shielded monsters and running around hyper monsters, and it’s just like 20 things happening at once, which is awesome.

It’s challenging, but it’s not infuriating, because it basically comes down to forcing you to act like a movie action hero. You have to toss baddies into other baddies, throw your axe up at the ledge baddie’s head then kick the monster in front of you, call your axe back and follow up the kick with a smash, and just power through like it’s a crazy coordinated fight scene.

It’s a really really neat learning curve and style for success. There are ways to possibly hide or run in and smash and run out, but that’s really only possible with the big troll bosses, because it’s kinda how they’re designed to be fought.

For the regular fights, you can’t really “cheat”, because everyone sorta has a pattern, and you’re meant to jump between each type of baddie so that the timing of their attack patterns lines-up with your attacks and you don’t get destroyed immediatley.

If you try and cheap-shot from a distance, it’s like a weird timing thing where you have to wait for the pattern to loop and jump in once every loop. It’s possible, but extra extra tedious, and it’s basically an indication that you’re doing the game wrong.

You shoulda planned better and looked cooler. Super self-contained and not sure how replayable it’d be, if you just rush through games, but it’s worth going through it and it seems pretty well stuffed to be worth the playthrough.
