20 Best Gold Testing Machine (2022 Updated)

When I opened the box and looked at the little chemical bottles almost all of them had a bit of the chemical in the tiny little neck of the bottle. I had some silver that I wanted to test and when I took the plastic seal off of the bottle, unscrewed the cap and tried to squeeze a little acid on the sample, nothing happened.

So my first reaction was that the chemical had dried in the neck of the bottle and sealed it up. Then I figured out that the neck on the bottle had not been pierced. Did that and the acid dispensed and I got my test.

It might not be a bad idea to mention in the directions, that the bottle neck needs to be pierced. Or maybe I’m just an idiot. I can say that the silver testing materials work fine and hopefully, I’ll be able to test some other stuff soon.

acids are too old and cant detect anything now. after trying 20 time or so, keeps coming up with same thing, acids are to old

You end up having a nice box to put everything in. There are extra spaces for extra solvents and extra test blocks. The kit provides all the basic solvents you need. The solvents come with simple directions.

As for being plastic mentioned by the other reviewer, yes they are all plastic, but are very light and strong. Also, you can buy new coil And covers on the bottom, And a piece of blue tape on top helps prevent scratches on top of the coil.

The first trip out (after some backyard practicing) and this little “work horse” helped find a musket ball that was hiding underwater and rocks. It produced a clear and consistent signal even in the water.

The next trip will be to a place known for it’s gold finds. It truly lives up to it’s description as far as the knowledge I have in operating it. Easy assembly and sturdy.

This product would receive 5 star. It lost one star due to design. The Control station and sencor plate are of unusual shape which taking up space in your backpack. The handle on the control station could be made to be removable also with the cable on the sencor plate protruding 90% make for hard packing.

Maybe the next model could allow for easier packing into a backpack. Other then that small discomfort it work very well and comfortable to sing all day long.

Simple to operate and light to use detector who’s high speed processor allows for faster and accurate searching. It has hit some little lead pieces of bullets at good depths and has good discrimination.

The simplicity and practicality of design allow for field improvisation of shafts with the provided coil mount kit. My only surprise was seeing how fast the AA batteries (in the enclosed adapter)went when I used the deep search mode (I will be buying a 2nd minelab battery).

Overall a great detector thus far!.

I purchased the Minelab Gold Monster 1000 very recently and tried it out. The first thing I noticed was no owners manual,just a couple of pamphlets in a multitude of languages and not real easy to follow as the English version is mixed with Arabic.

I assembled the unit and noticed right away the rod or shaft for the unit is a three piece non adjustable rod so once assembled I had about a foot hanging out the end from where the arm rest ended. The rods are all the same length so no way of putting a shorter one in to accommodate the proper placement of the arm rest and screen.

The unit itself performed very good in the highly mineralized soil I was searching in but was cumbersome due to the foot of rod hanging out the back. The unit is good for finding small gold pieces but again trying to prospect with a long non-adjustable main rod shortened my use of the Gold Monster 1000.

I didn’t have very high expectations for a folding metal detector, but I’ve always wanted to have a metal detector that I can carry in a backpack without it looking like I have a rifle in there (I was accosted once by somebody that thought my old metal detector was a gun!) So I decided to order the MineLab Go-Find 66.

I was pleasantly surprised; this detector isn’t a toy. It’s actually a really good detector, it has very quick response to targets and has features, including multiple discrimination modes, pin-point, target ID number, headphone jack, backlit display, etc.

that higher end detectors have. It does not have manual ground-balancing and will probably not work on a wet, salt-water beach, but I haven’t tried that scenario yet. Since I live far from any salt water it’s not an issue.

The auto ground balance works well. The detector is very good at discriminating out garbage and is very quiet until it finds a legitimate target. The hand-held pin-pointer only has audio (beeping, but no vibrate mode) but works well and has a nice auto-find, auto-off feature if you leave it on too long.

I’m very happy with this purchase. I was able to pull the arm brace right off of the detector one day, though, by pulling on it too hard, but it snapped right back on again and that’s never happened again (because I’m more careful now).

Definitely recommend this, especially the Go-Find 66. And if you don’t have a hand-held pin-pointer you’ll love this combo.

So, I have finally had a chance to test out my Christmas present. First thing, don’t go metal detecting in steel toe cap boots or boots with any steel in them! I first tried the Go-Find 66 on New Brighten beach in Christchurch, but, I suspect that there was too much iron sand around and I got a lot of false positives.

I then tried it at the farm and got much better results. I still found as I was doing the quick sweep that I got hits that when I focused in on the spot came up negative. I suspect that sometimes plant foliage flicking through the coil may have given some false positives along with dock plants which gave a hit when moving the coil quickly but then came up blank when focusing in.

It did find some pretty small pieces of metal and an old bolt as well, so, when it does find something it was picking up some pretty small stuff. The pin point feature worked well. So, overall, a bit more false positives when quickly scanning that I would like, but otherwise happy.

I thought it helpful to post a note here for the beginners on here or parents buying for kids as there are some misleading reviews on here from clearly frustrated folks. I’ve been detecting for 7 years with two different models of Minelab detectors, and have had countless hours of fun as well as found plenty of relics, coins and the odd bit of gold.

Minelab is an Australian developed and manufactured brand of detectors, based in South Australia, and they produce arguably the best technology in the world. It’s something all Aussies should be very proud of in an era when not much gets made locally.

So some tips for beginners: – there is a learning curve associated with any metal detector no matter how simple. The more you invest in learning about how to use it the more you will get out of it. – the metal detector will also “beep” a lot in the case that you choose a trashy area to detect.

This is normal. And detecting in trashy areas requires skill, patience and experience. – there was a comment about not detecting anything at the beach. This is frequently the case unless you invest time learning about beaches and how and when to detect them.

Beaches are often very clean environments with little in the way of metal objects. Storms create opportunities for easier detecting due to removal of sand layers. – There was also a comment about not detecting visible nails.

This is actually likely because the iron discrimination was turned on. This is a beneficial feature rather than a flaw, as it helps you search for the more interesting objects. Iron is everywhere and generally a waste of time recovering.

Like anything in life it doesn’t come easy, and treasure doesn’t jump out at you, but that’s the fun of metal detecting.

This works well as intended and is ruggedly built. An issue with most of these plug-in designs (not just this one) is that they need a ground to test the GFCI. However, a GFCI is sometimes added to an existing ungrounded circuit as part of a renovation.

GFCIs can be set up so the first receptacle in a circuit is attached to the line and downstream receptacles can be attached as load without having to make them all GFCIs. Which is pretty handy. Everything is great with a grounded circuit and the tester does its thing when verifying grounded downstream receptacles.

This is not the case if this is an ungrounded circuit. The circuit tester will show an open ground when plugged in, as expected. But if the GFCI test button is pressed, it shows a hot-neutral reversal and does not trip the GFCI, even at the GFCI receptacle itself.

According to the forums on line, CFCI testers rely on access to a ground to trigger the hot-neutral current balance detection and thus trip the circuit interrupter. Without the ground, it apparently doesn’t work.

Fortunately, the test button on the GFCI receptacle works in an ungrounded circuit, and you can verify the downstream receptacles using this option. Given the use of a GFCI on receptacles in an ungrounded (grandfathered) circuit is generally considered safe if the proper labelling is used, it would be nice if there were a way to test them properly.

Would recommend more than the advanced Klein tool outlet checker because you have to power that one up every time. Not this one! It runs off the outlets power!

Wow! That item is fantastic. I do love it. Its a good quality. I saw it online when someone explain you need this tool when you have closing date to check the outlets in the house. My closing date is coming soon and I cant wait to use that tool.

The tester is will made and very durable. It a great essential tool for your data testing needs. I’ve used all the options this tester, that it has to offers and they work great. I would have given this tester 5 stars, but navigating from option to option isn’t the best.

Changing for mapping to cable length and back to mapping, not very easy. Calibrating cable length wasn’t easy to follow in instruction manual, but did figured it out on my own. I have recommended the tester to other coworker.

Nice unit. Good quality and no problems so far. I especially like the cable length measurement feature. The battery connector wires are a tight fit with the battery in its compartment, making it a little difficult to get the cover on neatly, but it’s OK.

Since the meter comes with a set of remotes and I keep some short patch cables with it, there are multiple pieces and it would be nice if the case were included. I had to order that elsewhere.

I work for a broadband company. The company provides our tools but nothing this nice or useful. This tester is able to trace up to 19 separate lines, cable or data at the same time (with optional LanMap kit).

Other kits allow for other uses. It can tell you the length of the cable or if it is shorted. It is a great tool for anyone who has to trouble shoot any data or video system.

I started detecting in the late seventies and only living a few minutes from the beach have always wanted to do beach detecting. I have had quite a few different detectors over the years and have mainly detected on land because I could not seem to find a detector that was affordable and would work well on the beach as well as the land.

When the Vanquish came out I became very interested in it due to the reports of its excellent performance on the beach, so I went out and bought a Vanquish 440. I was extremely surprised at the performance and ease of use this machine had for the money, I have been on the beach a few times before with other makes of machine but never had anything that performed like this machine.

I put the machine into Jewellery mode, knocked the sensitivity down a couple of notches and was off, I was, at the time on a section of the beach called “bullet beach” known as that for obvious reasons.

Within a couple of minutes the signals were coming in loud and clear and I was pulling out old. 45 cal lead pistols projectiles and also old. 303 riffle projectiles. I would say that the depth on average was between six to ten inch’s.

The deeper signals gave just as strong a signal as the shallow ones and in the end there where that many that I did not dig them all but started selecting targets by the target ID number displayed on the screen.

I must say that I find the target ID numbers on these machines quite good and accurate, it’s just a case of learning what the numbers are like on any machine. I have tried all the modes including the coin and relic modes but have not really found a lot of difference in the depth, maybe relic being slightly deeper than the others.

The difference between them mainly being the discrimination and the recovery speed, coin mode having the fastest recovery speed and relic the slowest. I chose the jewellery mode for the beach as it has the discrimination set at zero with a medium recovery speed and small gold can come in on these machines as low as one and I did not want to miss anything valuable.

Selecting the “all metal mode” is very useful for listening for the iron in the background especially when hunting on land although I prefer myself to have it off when hunting on the beach, I find the fixed iron bios on these quite good.

I have done some testing of the machine on land and was really surprised at how sensitive this machine is to small silver items like cut quarters and cut half pennies. I would normally hunt on land with my Golden Mask fitted with the new fighter “S” coil which I find very good for finding small deep targets but found that the Vanquish was a lot more sensitive to the small silver items and was in some cases up to two inch’s deeper than the GM.

I need more time to evaluate the Vanquish on land but I suspect that my Golden Mask might be spending some time in the cupboard in the future, all in all I find the Vanquish an amazing machine for the money with it’s Multi IQ and easy to operate controls brilliant, and you will struggle to find another machine for the price with this sort of tech in it.

I found that the build quality is quite good but was a bit disappointed that the control box is not totally waterproof, especially as it will be used a lot on the beach. I did however find it that good that I have now gone out and bought the 540 as well for some of the extra features that it has like Bluetooth head phone support and backlight on the display for when the nights start to get a bit dark early.

I was nervous buying this detector because I really didn’t know much about them. After reading the reviews and watching a few YouTube videos I decided to take the plunge. I’m not disappointed at all.

It is exactly what I wanted. A detector that is not too pricey, easy for a beginner to use, but able to find decent targets. So far I’ve used it on the beach most days. I’m slowly learning how to set the discrimination settings in order to filter out rubbish (first few days I found bottle tops and can pull tabs by the truckload).

The detector is really easy to use, but there is a learning curve in order to master it. Expect to dig rubbish until you learn how to use the machine properly. So far I have found $53. 47 in modern coins, an old penny (1952), a silver ring, a small gold bracelet, an eagle pendant (I think it’s just stainless steal), and an eclectic collection of bits and bobs from an old square nail to a stealie tom bowler marble.

All this in just 3 weeks. So far I’ve had hours of fun with this machine. I would not hesitate to recommend it to someone seeking a cost effective yet powerful entry level metal detector.

Bought this gently used on Ebay. The packaging for shipping was the best I’ve ever received. Thank you. I assembled the unit, turned it on, calibrated it to earth ground, walked around my yard and my very first discovery was a silver American quarter from 1963.

The unit is working flawlessly. Its sensitivity to small treasures like coins is amazing. I’m just a hobby treasure hunter, but this unit exceeds my expectations in the field. Easy to set up, dial in, and use.

Its not too heavy on the arm during use. I am 6 foot tall, weighing 225, so weight of the machine is not an issue. I am completely satisfied with the Ace 400 in the field! I would recommend this product to someone interested in novice treasure hunting.

I am looking forward to many more hours in the field with it.

This is a review for the Garrett Ace 300 (metal detector). It’s incredibly exciting to use once you get the hang of it. There is a bit of a learning curve. Don’t skip the bench tests. I created a notebook to record and chart the results for future reference.

Once you can recognize the sounds and signals of your targets it is smooth sailing. It can get heavy after awhile of steady swinging and since it has to be about an inch off the ground you are constantly having to adjust your bearing.

I insert new batteries before each use and take them out when I’m finished. I’ve found a few ‘top pocket finds’ but surprisingly they were not metal- they just happened to be near a metal target. Definitely get the attachments and accessories.

Worth it!.

I’ve always wanted a metal detector. A friend of my suggested that if I want to start metal detecting as a hobby I should look into getting a Garrett metal detector because they aren’t too expensive and they are pretty good for what you get for the price.

So I I chose an (Ace 300 model) and I bought one. My Garrett Ace 300 showed up a few weeks later. When it arrived I was so happy but alittle nervous too. I put it together and took it outside to test it in my yard and as I played with it I eventually got the hang of it.

Once I figured it all out and how it worked I just fell in love with it ! Thats when I knew that this was now going to be my new hobby for now on. I go out to metal detect all the time and the more I do it ,the better I get.

I strongly recommend a Garrett 300 metal detector to everyone who wants to get into the hobby of metal detecting. It’s just an awesome thrill to go out hunting because you never know what you might find.

I knew nothing about metal detectors until my husband announced I was getting one for my birthday. This machine was recommended as an excellent beginner tool that is waterproof with 4 setting to help filter signals based on the environment.

package came with everything needed to start metal detecting. I read the instructions and watched a few videos online to give me a sense of how the machine works. On my very first test just one step away from our patio the signal was strong.

I opened the spot and found one, two, three matchbox cars about 4” underground. A couple steps more, another signal, then another…. Every signal produced a direct hit on something. I was tickled at my own success rate!! Someone with experience gave me the advice to carry flags or markers with me so I can mark several spots and then come back over each spot to dig.

The pointer is absolutely necessary to verify how close you are to exposing the target, and for insuring you got everything out of the hole before you cover it back up. I would have missed 2 of the 3 toy cars in the first hole I dig!! One thing I didn’t expect was how hard the soil is to dig! It requires a great deal of strength so it limited my time digging and finding things on my first test! The package deal I selected included a dig tool and sheath, a finds bag, leg strap for the pointer, wireless headphones, a pointer and a hat.

I would suggest adding markers, flags, and a towel/rag of some sort to wipe off your dig tool before returning it to it’s sheath. I also purchased a protective cover for the controls to keep it from getting dirty from my hands or gloves when I am switching back and forth between searching and digging.

I have sound something in every hole I have marked, even though it was just my first time using the machine. Now I am ready to find all sorts of lost treasures!!.

I had always been curious about metal detecting. had one of those useless $20 Radio Shack detectors as a kid. Now that I’m older, I was looking for a way to be outside and have a little fun. Metal detecting popped into my head and I quickly found that the Simplex is a budget priced but feature rich detector based on other reviews and videos.

One thing I like is that lots of people are using this detector. You can go on Youtube and see tips and tricks (look up the VDI videos — they’re very helpful). It’s rechargeable and updateable. It’s not heavy.

When I got the device I was swinging it around in my backyard and my first dig was a (modern) penny. It’s always fun finding a target and interpreting what the detector is telling you. and then seeing what’s in the ground.

I received my order quickly, and it was everything I ordered. I studied the book for a few minutes and headed out to the front yard. I immediately started finding targets. The Simplex is very accurate and the pinpointer made it even easier to recover the targets.

It Came today. I have lived on this land for 15 yrs and always used a differt brand and found mostly junk. I took a challenge on here from a post on you tube and the guy dares you to set it with junk button off and see if you dont find something.

I got a strong hit 3 ft from my side walk and 4″ in the dirt was a Victorian solid copper doorbell. So i brought it in the house and polished it up. Not bad from 15 mins in an area tried before and 6 ozs of solid copper.

Well im 100% Convinced.

I purchased this metal detector just to find the metal stakes the surveyor pounded into the ground indicating my property line. I just purchase the property but it had been surveyed several years prior.

I knew the general area of my property and spent hours before I purchase this metal detector looking for them. Out of frustration i called a surveyor and asked him if he could come out and survey or show me where the stakes were.

I also asked him how much it would cost. He told me around $100 to find the stakes and more if he couldn’t but he was also very busy and didn’t know when he could make it out. I really want to get started on my fence so i came up with the idea to buy a cheap metal detector to try to find them on my own.

I read some amazon reviews and decided to purchase this metal detector. I got home put it together in 2 minutes and went outside. within 5 minutes I found the first stake then 5 min later the next stake and so on until I had all four.

I was so happy to save money and find the stakes right away instead of waiting for surveyor. the way I look at it i got a free metal detector. Then I just kept searching and having fun finding things in my yard.

I even decided to put a penny,nickle,and quarter in the ground to practice what to listen for and how to pinpoint items and tune in the metal detector. Well worth the money!.

No, it is not ready to go out of the box as the description states. Would’ve been great to know the unit needs 2 9volt batteries. Nowhere in the description or in the specifications is noted the need for the type and quantity of batteries.

I was ready to do some detecting with my grandkids, but first I’ll need to make a trip to the store to get the 9volts, got plenty of other size batteries, just not 9volts.

I ordered this tester because I have a similar one. This perticular one does not have the flashlight. I advise to get the flashlight model extremly handy. I have tried 4 other testers and I feel the best is the Milwaukee Tester with Flashlight # 2202-20.

I watched a youtube video describing the milwaukee non contact voltage tester. The presenter said it was made in the USA. That tester had a flashlight and the audible sound was very loud. I didnt need the flashlight so I thought I would save a few bucks and bought 2 pack.

One for my son in law. As soon as it arrived I seen on package, made in China. The audible sound is not as loud as my Klein.

So as an HVAC tech I am around power all day, every day. Sometimes you just want to know if theres power or not and if the switches are wired correctly. Well I dont need to pull out the meter and check actual voltage to just see if its hot or not.

I mean, yes, an actual meter is still needed when troubleshooting a problem but if you just need a quick reference to know if its live or not, this is a great tool!.

I got this at the end of Dec, 2021, so I have it for about 2 months. I have used this only 3-4 times and have been keeping it very well. But now the tester unit is faulty, I can’t test anything with it.

While I am testing a stone, the needle goes all the way to “diamond” & it stays there. When I turn off the machine, the needle goes back all the way to the left “glass”. But as soon as the red light stops blinking, the needle goes all the way back to the right “diamond” again.

It stays there & won’t move anywhere while the machine is on. I don’t think the problem is the probe because it’s the same even when the probe is disconnected.

Before this purchase: I watch many of the YouTube videos, I asked many questions, the answers convinced me of the product. After I received my New Presidium Gem Tester II, I was surprised with the RESULTS.

I have collected a GOOD portion of loose Gems trough out my life, I was surprised of the effectiveness of this Gem tester. Thank you.

This device is fantastic! I tested all my stones I already had and it tested correctly. Great device to use when ordering new stones to catch fakes being sent out as real stones. Very handy!!

I’m not an electrician first off, I do have 20~years of commercial experience working on equipment up to 480VAC. As a DIYer now I wish this unit had been available when I was working; it has made tracing out unknown circuits in my home so much faster and safer.

I highly recommend this to any DIYer or mechanical technician that has to find that circuit breaker in the old building to safely work on that piece of equipment.

I was looking for a tracer and I went and bought 2 different kinds from lowes for 2 different applications and spent $130. They were junk. Went and spent right about $200 and it does everything I need it to.

It’s simple to use, and very accurate. And one of the best parts is, I can use it on energized conductors.

I bought this about a month ago and it has came in handy for tracing down many a problems. It is help me troubleshoot problems in a hotel worked decent on tracing an underground line. I checked with our big underground tracer.

I am impressed with this product.

I don’t know if this is because of me doing something wrong or whatever, but I keep getting false readings. Sometimes when It “finds” a target and I try digging for it, the detector will stop beeping when I check to see if I dug it up yet.

I try checking the surrounding area, and I get nothing. This thing is also not very precise, whenever I do find targets, It basically forces me to dig massive holes for a single coin. I don’t know if these issues are because of something I am doing wrong, or if Garrett just hates me.

But whatever the case, my experience hasn’t been very good at all.

The Ace400 is my first metal detector and I purchased it after watching videos and reading reviews about it. As a beginner I’m learning as I practice with it and it seems easy to use. It’s well made, well balanced, and very sensitive.

I’m looking forward to taking it out for its first real treasure hunt.

It’s makes lots of scrath noise, all sound are tiny. It pin points after passing McDonalds. Skipps nickles, loves pennys, but need to dig a crater to get it. It will work you. Not very impressed with performace, not even a little.

But it is a Garrett. You can get much better for a few dollars more. Get something else, this is a 4-6 year toy for child.

I needed a new tester for projects around the house. I like to be safe when working on wiring and switches and this tester works perfectly. I have always thought highly of Klein tools and these testers are no exception.

They are well made and should last a lifetime. Just be sure to take out the batteries if it is not going to be used for a long time. The sensitivity is quite good and will come in handy when locating the christmas tree lights that always go out.

I sometimes repair and/or install light fixtures, switches and receptacles. The one tool is very helpful in verifying that the circuits are not energized when I’m working on them. It’s built in flashlight is very handy when working in low light conditions.

The other tool lets you know more specifically what you are dealing with.

As a homeowner that has undertaken many home improvement projects I always say having the right tools is half the job. I had never invested in electrical testing tools, but after years of to many shocks I decided now was the time.

These are quality tools that will hold up and do the job. No more shocks so far.

I’m not certain what purpose this meter was made for but it sure wasn’t general use. I didn’t read the specs and was surprised to learn that it can’t even see a dead short when set to resistance. I’ve never been disappointed by anything Milwaukee until now.

I should not have to read details to find out that it can only read some resistance. If Milwaukee is going to make limited use equipment, then it should be made crystal clear in the main description.

I can’t imagine what good a meter that can’t troubleshoot will do anyone. Do not make the same mistake. I will likely resell at a loss but at least I’ll be honest upfront about what it does and doesn’t do.

Does not measure ohms, only kiloohms. Somewhat frustrating when you’re testing and can’t get a reading. Pulled out my old meter and its measuring fine. So I look closely at the manual and sure enough it only measures from 2 kohm to 20 kohm.

Not very practical. Otherwise I love this meter, really is a shame. I can’t be swapping meters anytime I need to measure something besides voltage or continuity and resistance is the only other reading I need on a daily basis.

Going to have to return and don’t think I want to fork out the money for the fully featured meter from Milwaukee. Guess I’m getting a new meter from the manufacturer I was trying to get away from. Just got a whole line up of M12 tools and loved them so I thought this would complement them nicely.

Actually purchased this for work, but as this has the continuity feature I think I will keep it in my personal tool kit. I tested this meter along with some others for accuracy and ease of use. The meter was perfect for the intended use and the readings were inline with other more expensive meters.

If you use the meter for it’s intended purpose it is absolutely perfect and will save a lot of time. It’s handy to carry and has a good protective cover on the meter itself. It’s a good value for your money and is good for professionals as well as the do it yourselfers.

Shipping was quick and it was as advertised on the website.

Love that this guy is rechargeable. Haven’t had to recharge it yet at all, but it’s a good feature instead of having to worry about batteries failing during a test or a late night homework session. You can view battery status on-screen, so you’d know to charge it before a test if needed.

Everything functions as it’s supposed to. It does a lot more than I’d ever need it for (calculus stuff). It DID take me a little bit to get familiar with it as I hadn’t used a calculator like this in over 20 years.

The color screen is great when looking at different functions at the same time, whether it’s piecewise or just differentiations. I know there’s a Casio out there that does pretty much identical things, but I’ve always trusted TI, and it seems most universities do as well.

Excellent calculator. Feature rich, programmable, and can add a CAS program to it. The mint green color is wonderful. It’s overpriced, however. A comparably feature rich Casio, including the ability to add a CAS program, costs less than a third of this price.

I don’t care about color screen, it just doesn’t add anything to me being able to work with the data. The backlight is nice. The rechargeable battery is nice, on one hand, but on the other hand I’d prefer rechargeable AAA or AA batteries since they don’t have to be specially sourced.

I was so happy to find this on sale. My son’s school didn’t tell us which calculator to buy u til school had already started. So, the used ones were all sold. I was grateful to see Office Depot running a sale, and I could use my rewards dollars to offset the cost.

This TI 84 plus CE came with a charging cable and the hard cover to protect the screen. He took it to school and the 10th grade algebra2 teacher says that this is the same calculator he will be using from now until he finishes college.

Just got this last week and testing all functions. I liked that it does quick measurements in door for length, area, volume, and indirect calculations. I liked the small size and carrying case too. The buttons sometimes bounce if I pressed lightly and I got two clicks out of it instead of the intended one; making a stronger positive push seems to give a better control.

For outdoor, depending on the sunlight and reflecting surface, I was able to get about 50′ out of it. The biggest problem is trying to see the red dot so I use the side edge of the laser unit as a sight to try to locate the dot; another option is to point to a closer location, then slowly move the dot towards your measuring spot so you can follow the red dot.

Instruction did say this unit is not intended for outdoor use so this is a bonus. The shortest distance it can measure is about 6″ (not mentioned in the manual), but I can live with this and switch to a measuring tape or caliper.

The biggest problem I encountered is when I switch measurement units for the memory data. When I switch measurement unit to M or Ft-in, the stored data display correctly in M or Ft-in. But when I select inches, the stored data displays in meters.

However, the three last active display (not data from memory) switched correctly. Seems to be a glitch in the programming? Will have to call Bosch on this.

Way more than I need, but that is so much better than not having a feature or accuracy that I do need. I have found it to be well within the variances stated. I have not downloaded the software and used the Bluetooth feature, so I have not experienced the frustration others have stated with the programme.

In fact, every programme native on the unit is so easy to use on the colour display, it seems strange that the phone/tablet app would be difficult. I had previously purchased the Bosch 100 ft. Laser Measure and found the display on that unit to be MUCH more difficult to read.

The numbers are larger, in colour, and rotate to make it easier on these old eyes. On that point, reading outside in full light these eyes could not see the laser pointer at 10m (about 30′), but that’s not my primary use (my only complaint with this product, maybe a green laser beam would be easier to see like my laser level).

I returned this laser measurer as the numbers on the screen were so small I could barely read them. There is a whole wide width of screen and the numbers only showed on the right hand side-barely. Since I need this exact measurement to order blinds, I cannot afford to make a mistake and have returned it.

Other than that, I liked the size and the fact that it only takes two batteries as opposed to the four my old one took. If they can make the numbers show bigger or more to the left on the screen, I would purchase again.

I have had to change to this brand as my insurance won’t paid for other brand strips. Set up was easy and once I worked out how to get the blood sample on the strip, that was easy. The display was very clear.

So far the lancet is OK. I have had to change the setting a few times, to get a good stab that produces a suitable blood sample. I have old and tough skin! The one thing it appears to missing is a reminder to retest your blood after a meal.

With my old meter, I was able to set it at 1hr, 1. 5hrs or 2 hrs. There doesn’t appear to anything like that on this meter. I have contacted the manufacturer to make sure I haven’t missed this setting but its not mentioned in the booklet or their Youtube videos.

For me that is an important feature as an hr goes by surprisingly quickly and I need that reminder.

Do not waste your money. The strips are terrible. They do not absorb your blood sample no matter how many times you do it. I have wasted numerous test strips and needles poking myself so many times just to get this stupid thing to work.

You cannot even get a refund with this Defective product. Shame on this company for making such a BAD PRODUCT.

the meter has so much going for it and easy setup, easy to use, and not very expensive. the lancet is not very painful but the sharps does not lock in to device to easily take off top off it keeps falling out of lancing device.

I like how it all is on a plastic piece that holds everything together for easier use and it is not stuck to the case it comes in, It keeps track of readings and gives average in 7 days, it is fun to use and makes the chore easier.
