20 Best In Wall Bluetooth Speakers (2022 Updated)

I put a pair of these in my garage ceiling. When I workbench tested them pre-install, I was a bit worried because the sound quality was horrible, particularly in the low and mid-low ranges. However, once I put them in the ceiling, they really sounded quite good I imagine because the drywall is resonating the bass.

There is plenty of volume available because of the amplifier. Overall, quite pleased with the purchase.

Had to return my first purchase because the Bluetooth module was defective. The second one is working like a champ! Fast and easy BT connection and speakers sound better than expected. Also they are easy to install and virtually disappear in the ceiling.

I’ve a bit skeptical about longevity and durability. Time will tell but for now I’m really happy with the purchase. Highly recommended!.

These flush mount speakers work well and are simple to install but the sound quality is lacking from what I had expected from Pyle. Wish the highs were higher and the lows lower. Good for an intercom system but not great quality for music or movies.

The speakers arrived. We already had prior but smaller whole for old speakers that we so discolored. We got these nice and white not an eye soar. As soon as we plugged them in we could here the cherp sound so we knew everything was done correctly.

Probably took about 45 minutes cause we had to cut our hole bigger with template and had to go in attic but very easy.

Sound quality is great. I had problems when tightening the screws, the support came out of the socket, witch required several attempts.

Apparently Pyle makes speakers well, but the electronics they put in this unit. worse than a joke. it is fraud. i opened and just rewired to bypass the electronics and just use them both as passive speakers.

And now they are usable. The entire bluetooth / “300watt amp” is no larger than a credit card, has no need for a heat sink, and the dc rail cap is single 1000uf 16v haha!!! Pyle wow! please fire the dude who decided this was a good idea, and is quality product.

Shame on you guys.

Love these speakers! Terrific quality and plenty loud enough. To test them I played the start of Saving Private Ryan LOUD on the new speakers and everyone within a block now knows what Dog Green sector at Omaha Beach on D Day sounded like! Ha ha.

My first few times using it I couldn’t figure out how to pair then to my TV – Pyle sent me an email and I explained – they offered a replacement then and there – but, since the problem was operator error (Um, I was the operator) I politely declined but, man, was I impressed.

I am very pleased that I got these speakers – Stoke level = HIGH.

Suprised by how good they sound tbh. I usually run higher end audio, but for my deck i didn’t want to spend a fortune. The distance of bluetooth i have no issue, i can go 40ft if theres a straight line to the speaker with nothing blocking.

Biggest issues i have are these. Very cheap terminals. The converter needs to be on a longer run. Having only a few feet from the speaker is terrible. If your placing the speakers high above a sliding door, the converter is right there and can’t be hidden.

So you have this black box that looks like crap and you cant do anything with. Also, the converter box needs to be %100 sealed. It gained moisture the first day it rained and wouldn’t connect via bluetooth and kept shutting off.

Used a sealant around the box to keep moisture out. Overall they do sound good, pretty sturdy. But the issues need to be fixed or you will have problems if that converter box is exposed to the weather.

If your selling weather proof speakers, you need to make sure everything is weather proof.

It was easy to install, fit my needs, and easy to use the Bluetooth on my phone. Pyle makes good audio equipment. and it is waterproof! They have been excellent to play while in the backyard and in our pool.

I ordered the larger 6. 5″ in a larger case, if you want smaller order the 5″.

If you are looking for a Bluetooth enabled set of speakers, these are the ones. They can be hardwired directly to sound system. The set comes with metal mounting brackets, screws and anchors. 16′ of speaker wire to connect the active to the passive.

Very easy to setup, plug in the main speaker turn on your Bluetooth device and scan, then connect. Great sound and they can handle a lot of power. They are heavier than I expected, good construction and can handle being outside.

Bluetooth range depends on what you are transmitting through. I have them on my screened in porch and used my phone to connect; 15′ away and a brick wall is the max for my situation. My tablet has a short transmission range, so it is about 5-6 feet.

I highly recommend these speakers.

Good basic sound for outdoor listening. I’m going to purchase another set for the side yard fire pit area. I would recommend purchasing the “new” and not refurbished. Although the model 62 is only 2″ bigger, they look massive, but they do have a bit better bass.

I suggest purchasing a remote power switch because the on/off power switch is on the back and a bit hard to reach if you mount the speakers higher that 6 ft.

These are two stereo speakers that need no splitter. great stereo sound right of the box. Very easy to set up. For casual listening they are great. Buying from B&H was terrific.

Now retired, I owned a pro-sound and electronics business for many years. I was looking for some self-amplified speakers to beef up the sound quality on a few of my TVs. After reading the specifications on this pair of Pyle PDWR53BTBK, wall mount speakers, I decided they were perfect for my application.

In addition to Bluetooth, it has a full compliment of various inputs, outputs and controls, to fit most any application. It even has balanced inputs along with the typical RCA and mini input jacks. If you are not familiar with balanced audio inputs, they are used when the speaker sets internal amp will be located more than 15 or 20 feet from a TV or other preamp device.

Do a web search for Balanced vs. Unbalanced Audio to learn more. This speaker set improved my TV sound 100% but the versatility is what first caught my attention. My wife hates messing with surround sound amplifiers, outboard sound equipment, etc.

Like most folks, she just wants to turn on the TV and watch it. The Auto-On feature of this speaker set is probably the best feature. When one turns on the TV or other preamp device that may be plugged in to this speaker set, it senses the signal and automatically turns on their internal amplifier.

Likewise it automatically turns off their internal amplifier when the TV is turned off. Note: The TV needs to have variable output RCA jacks or a variable output ear-phone jack, if you wish to adjust the speaker volume with the TV remote.

easy to install; connects to multiple devices effortlessly and had features I didnt’ expect. The sound quality is amazingly and very loud. Only time will tell if they hold up. So far. very impressive.

The sound quality is good much better than I expected for the size of the speakers.

These work as intended, good sound, nice clean look in the ceiling. Bought several of these for my house renovation. biggest effort is cutting the hole if you are a DIYer. Don’t buy the cheap hole cutter kit at HD with the plastic lid that captures the dust, it isn’t big enough.

I bought a 240mm/9. 45 inch blade and it worked just right.

We recently remodeled our house and added 4 if these to our living room area. We love how they sound and watching movies with them makes you feel as if we are at the theater up the street. Listening to sports on them makes you feel as if you are in the arena watching the game.

I’m am now getting on the site to order some outdoor speakers because I feel I cant go wrong with Polk by the pool as well.

I highly recommend these as atmos speakers and they’re great for music too. If you want a real theatre sound, go with Polk or Klipsch who specialise in this. The hifi brands just do not have the grunt these do or the value for money.

Unless of course you prefer a tame, refined home theatre. Good on Rapallo for stocking these, as they’re about the most highly rated in ceiling speaker to date.

I have had my 3 sets of 2 speakers for over 20 years. 2 in rear wall of living room wall for surround sound with a set of Polk Tower speakers in front (30 yrs old). Set of 2 in ceiling of enclosed patio no heat 365 days/yr.

Now this is the most unbelievable set of 2 in the soffit outside patio for back yard and pool area. Powered by Denon receivers 1 on patio and 1 inside living room. I have replaced 2 receivers both inside and outside.

SPEAKERS STILL WORK WONDERFULL. I can rock the neighborhood. POLK Thanks for great speakers.

I just added RC85i to home theater room. Wow! The RC85i give us the true surround sounds feeling of emersion into the shows and movies we’re watching. I’ve already jumped out of my seat a couple of times with the excellent sounds I’m receiving.

I”ve got it RC85i as surround back speakers in the walls paired with an AVR-X2700h. all of it fabulous!.

I had just 2 large pioneers in the room. Sounded very 2 dimensional. Put in 2 wall RC 85i polls, now music fills the room. Had the mids and highs I was lacking with just the pioneers. I highly recommend them.

Hardly noticeable in the walls also.

These are great sounding speakers! I had already installed RC85i in two bedrooms and was using a couple of pairs of small metal boxed bookshelf speakers in the bathrooms. My house is wired for audio in every room to include shop, kitchen & bathrooms.

The surrounds finally wore out in the ~20 year old bookshelf speakers in the bathrooms and were rattling. I wasn’t sure about the 6. 5″ woofer size of the RC65i as I was running the 8″ RC85i in the bedrooms.

I finally thought about it and they were replacing 5″ woofers in the existing bookshelf speakers. Also have a 12″ subwoofer at the far end of the hallway for the bedroom zones which also covers the bathrooms, so I figured it would sound ok.

I painted them to match walls and mounted the in the face if soffits in the bathrooms. Aesthetically they look much better than the bookshelf speakers did and they sound as void as or probably a little better than the old setup.

Visually there is no comparison. They are the only way to go for bedrooms & bathrooms and other locations. Installation was simple. I’m very pleased with the RC65i & RC85i speakers.

I needed to replace one of the existing Polk RC65i speakers in the wall which i reckon has probably been there for at least 10 years fitted by the previous owner of the house. The bass speaker rubber had split causing horrible vibration noises.

The new speakers arrived and were an exact match except for the way the wires connect which has been improved on the new product. I only needed to replace one so i have a spare now. It was so easy to install and the sound is amazing.

We wanted to be able to cut into the twin bed cabinet in our RV. The point was to let our cat get inside the storage area where we were keeping her box. This speaker matches the real speakers on the ceiling from our leisure travel van.

Although it was not new, it is in perfect condition. We will be using the trim portions only, but when we trade it in, we will give the speaker parts to the new owners.

Little speakers sounds great, it was very ez to install. The only problem is I don’t know how the LED’s is powered. I installed the power to the speakers to a timer switch, so when I turn it on for 60 minutes it shuts the power off.

When I enter the room and hit the switch, they power up and I connect. Ez Pz.

Sound is excellent, range is amazing, installation easy, lights nice and bright! Downside Bluetooth doesn’t work unless lights are on

2nd set we bought – wanted to see if 2 speakers enough for surround sound. Great system and no problems. Glad we purchased them.

I bought two sets of these speakers so that I would have four in one room I would want them to all work together but after inquiring from pyle that is impossible you can only listen to two speakers at a time,not fair.

This system sounds amazing and it’s powerful. if you are standing in the same room where the speakers are, you would think that you were in the club! Love it!

Great sound, but max output is only half the volume scroll on the iPhone after that they distort, their Bluetooth amp receiver could have been better. overall it’s a good product,

Easy to hook-up and install, sound quality is good, trusted brand.

Using 6 in-ceiling speakers with 2 Sonos Amps across 2 rooms. The sound coming from these speakers is fantastic at all volumes with a lovely rich, clear and warm sound especially after TruePlay tuning.

Major issue is leakage of bass in floor above speakers. If anyone is in rooms above it’s essentially impractical to play speakers above a low volume. Would like to see more work to reduce leakage above speakers.

ose is the master of psychoacoustics, and has been for many decades. I purchased the 500 to operate connected to two three Home Speaker 300s, two of them brand new and one rebuilt by Bose. The Smart Speaker 500 produces fine detail and clean sound with crisp, tight bass.

It never gets to an ear-splitting level, and the bass output will not rumble the walls and floors, but is plenty loud enough for entertaining. It is high quality sound that is a pleasure to listen to, especially with good recordings.

The pleasure ends there, however. Any consumer product should be easy to use and reliable, without exceptional troubleshooting efforts. It appears as though the Bose music app is an underdeveloped, unstable disaster.

I got the feeling that I was beta-testing the app for Bose at the cost of the speakers that I purchased. Bose should be paying me for my field testing efforts! I placed the 500 and 300s around the house to provide room-to-room sound.

It was great while it lasted, that is when they occasionally worked as a group. Most of the time they would not connect, and when all of them did, the connection would not last. Once underway with a four speaker group, the app displayed the error message “connection to the product has been lost”, usually within 30 minutes or so.

I could not disconnect any of the paired speakers at that point, and there was no control of the master volume or that of the individual speakers. Bluetooth is apparently used to communicate with and control the primary connection speaker in a group, so I placed my iPhone as the control source within 10 to 15 feet of it at all times, to ensure that it was not out of range.

Some speakers could become “Not Available” at any time. At start up, this meant that I was simply not going to be able to use them. This was the case for the two new 300s every time I attempted to boot them up for use.

During group play the “Not Available” message meant that all speakers were out of control. I “could not adjust the volume or remove them from the group. “Something went wrong. C3″ was also a frequent one-size-fits-all error message that would pop up at any time.

After 4 or 5 days of 3 to 4 hours each day trying to debug these problems through product restarts, firmware updates, reloading the app numerous times on my iPhone, etc. I am throwing in the towel and returning them.

I have a long time career as an engineer and still found all of this frustrating and disappointing. I can only imagine the infuriation of a consumer without technical know-how trying to make these things work as advertised.

I get the impression that Bose is desperately trying to play catch up with its competitors, one of whom has been in the wifi speaker business for 20 or more years, and they rushed the Smart and Home speakers to market without completing app software development to get a foot in the door.

I haven’t experienced software this wonky since the days before the advent of the Microsoft Windows 7 OS. Once I regain my confidence, and some of my funds for toy expenditures, I may try other manufacturers’ products as an alternative.

That is, if this experience didn’t drive me back to a hard-wired two channel audiophile stereo system. From the days of the 901 and the Wave Radio to this. Hey Bose, what happened?.

I purchased a Sonos Move at the same time and had it set up a few days before my Bose 500 was delivered. I had already convinced myself that I’d just return the Bose 500 when it arrived because I was quite satisfied with the Sonos Move.

The charging dock and the ability to move it from room to room were icing on the cake to what I already had decided was a fine sound profile. It sounded sufficiently loud and had a deep bass that was great after a couple adjustments were made.

Well, the Bose 500 arrived and I unpacked it just to try it out before mailing it back. It had been on the market for longer and didn’t seem like it was going to be able to keep up. It was smaller and the design language seemed more “classic” than the Sonos Move.

I plugged it in and let it perform a quick software update. (The Sonos Move did the same thing out for f the box. ) I queued up the same streaming service and song on each device and started the song on the Sonos Move first.

It sounded great. I was used to the sound profile and thought it wouldn’t even be a contest based on the difference in size alone. I was … wrong. The moment the Bose 500 started to play the same song, I thought something was wrong with my ears.

It felt like my ears had been plugged and someone pulled out the earplugs when the Bose 500 started playing. The sound profile was clear and punchy. At the same percentage volume, it was louder by a little and yet clearer – if that makes sense.

I played through another song and that made the once acceptable sound profile from the Sonos Move sound muddy in the middle by comparison. The bass seemed lower and fuller from the Sonos Move, but it seems to be at the expense of the overall sound.

I started packing up the Sonos Move immediately and I returned the Sonos Move that same night. I’ve been happy ever since. By the way, the one feature the Bose 500 has over the Sonos Move that I didn’t appreciate in this day of cordless connectivity is an AUX port.

The screen is nice, but it’s not a feature I need with a decent app. The Bose 500 and Sonos Move have fine apps, but it’s nice to know I have an AUX port for when the device becomes “obsolete. ” It will happen for both at some point, but having a “dumb” feature on a “smart” speaker is a nice touch.

The Bose 500 is also $50 less than the Sonos Move, but that’s negligible at this price point. Overall, I’m happy with the Bose 500 and have zero regrets.

I have been using this speaker for about six months now. Yes, it is pricey, but the audio is fantastic for a speaker this size and it is stereo. The highs and mids are very clear and nuanced, and the bass is surprisingly deep and punchy, again for a speaker its size.

I personally love that artwork is displayed on the screen when using the Bose app to play music (for me this has been Amazon Music and SiriusXM through the Bose app – artwork doesn’t really work when sending through Bluetooth).

The Bluetooth connectivity is nice and the voice integration with Alexa is very convenient. The Bose control app works great and integrates almost perfectly with Amazon Music. The app controlling SiriusXM is a bit flawed as all of my saved favorite channels are not listed.

Not sure if this is on Bose’s side or SiriusXM? Meaning, not sure if SiriusXM limits the Bose app to only displaying channels that are not specific to SiriusXM’s own app. This can be worked around by connecting to the speaker by Bluetooth and just using the SiriusXM app.

Also, the ability to save specific SiriusXM or Amazon Music channels or playlists to the six Favorite buttons on the speaker is extremely convenient. All in all I have been very happy with the investment in this speaker.

This sound bar produces room-filling, broadspectrum sound with decent bass from multiple sources. Since most flat-screen TV sets have notoriously bad sound, many viewers choose to enhance their TVs with a sound bar or a surround-sound system.

This sound bar produces a lot of sound for the buck and is, of course, far simpler to install and dramatically less expensive than a surround-sound system. Since most TV sets have a 1/8″ stereo jack for its sound output an audio cable with a 1/8″ stereo plug on one end and two RCA plugs on the other (not included) will make that connection to this iLive Wall Mountable Sound Bar.

For optical sound sources an optical cable has been included. Other options include using the built-in Bluetooth feature of this sound bar and to use a smartphone, computer or other source for a program source.

After establishing a Bluetooth link between my Motorola smart phone and this sound bar I used my Internet radio app as the music source and enjoyed hi-fi stereo. My wife’s smartphone was also able to establish a Bluetooth link, so we’ve mounted this sound bar in a protected place on the wall of our screen porch for outside entertainment.

That works quite well for us. We can control the sound bar with the small included remote. As long as our phones are within about 50 feet of this sound bar, we get wide spectrum, static-fee music, which we can turn up loud enough to fill our outside patio without distortion.

The price on this sound bar is a steal. The sound is solid, not the highest quality, but better than your standard TV speakers. The bluetooth pairing works flawlessly, allowing you to connect multiple devices to this sound bar.

There is also the option to connect via Digital Optical Audio port, RCA hookups, and 3. 5mm audio cable. The sound bar comes with a Digital Optical Audio cable, but the quality of the cable is terrible, you’re better off buying a different one.

It also comes with a pretty low quality remote, mounting hardware, and the power cable. The sound bar is not very heavy, so mounting it by yourself should be pretty easy. Set up was simple, I was up and running within a minute or two.

Overall, a solid addition to a spare room TV. The sound quality is good enough, but isn’t going to replace a surround sound system, or set of bookshelf speakers.

I absolutely love the iLive HD Sound Bar! What a fun upgrade to our family room. I’m not really tech savvy and the installation of the sound bar was quite easy. I opted to wall mount my sound bar and the package comes with all of the tools needed to complete this.

The wall map was quite handy to measure and install without a measuring tape, triple checks, etc. I was able to do it myself without help and I’m not super handy. You’ll have just one cord hanging down depending on where your outlet is, but my entertainment center covers it up so the look stays sleek.

It doesn’t really catch your eye if you opt to set it on top of a book case or entertainment center underneath a wall mount tv. The sound is great! The remote is just a little bit longer than a business card so you might consider how you might store it so it does not get lost.

I love that I can just plug in an old iPod to enjoy music through the speaker as well. So glad I got this.

I bought 2 of these speakers to use as in-wall surround speakers in a 5. 1. 4 setup. These speakers sound great as surround speakers, but sound even better when playing music. During parties I set my Denon AVR-x6700h to all channel stereo and these little speakers play loud and clear.

I wanted to get the 6. 5r speakers, but unfortunately they did not fit in the area I wanted them because of stud placement. I bought the 4. 5R because that is all I could fit, but was very pleasantly surprised when I heard out good these little speakers sound! If you have the room for the 6.

5″ or 8. 5″ speakers, obviously get those, but if you can’t fit a bigger speaker, these will not disappoint!.

I added these speakers into the pre-wired ceiling of my 12′ x 15′ master bathroom and love them! The woofer and tweeter are made of a material that shouldn’t be an issue for a moist environment like a bathroom.

However, time will tell with the metal grill. With a sensitivity rating of 90db, they utilize the power of my amp almost too well! I’m running these speakers on 65 watts per channel and was initially worried that it wouldn’t have adequate power to drive these speakers efficiently.

As it turns out, I’m only able to turn the volume know about 1/8 inch before it gets to loud in the master bath. But they sound great! For grins, I cranked them up way past a comfortable listening range and they are very impressive.

I will be eventually adding more of these to other pre-wired rooms in my house as well.

Tried several in-ceiling speakers, none are great but this seems to be better than most: The good: really clear mids. Harsh highs, not enough bass. The details: First of all if you are looking for decent quality music as i was and replacing tower speakers (i had PSB speakers, very good.

) with in-ceiling, in-wall interior designer friendly ones your choices are limited. Few companies make the “invisible” bezel-less kind of speaker grill. I tried paradigm speakers, osd audio speakers, yamaha speakers and definitive technologies.

Nothing under 8 inch sounds anything like a decent tower speaker so don’t even bother, unless you’re looking for elevator type music, in elevator type volume levels. No matter what manufacturer, you really need a box behind the speaker.

Definitive make a metal box, which sounds a bit “tin-ie” at higher volume levels but with some insulation the metal vibrations can be removed. If you have access to the speaker behind the dry-wall, a custom box made of mdf or similar appears to yield better results (for mellower, deeper, more life-like sound.

) Definitive v. paradigm: the 8 inch paradigm in-ceiling speakers which i believe are about the same price has better highs and lows but altogether is not as good as it really lacks in mids where the definitive shines.

The yamaha speakers, despite the really good reviews online, are not even close to paradigm/definitive. had to take them down. OSD audio, 8 inch like the ACE800 had the best bass and softest treble but the mids were incredibly bad so they cannot be used on their own.

No matter what in-celing speakers you use at this price range (under $800-$1000 per pair), you definitely need subwoofer(s). i am using prosub800s but i would have liked bigger ones.
