20 Best Indoor Potty For Dogs (2022 Updated)

We have two small dogs that can be fussy if the weather is really bad outside. For the most part, they do go outside, but for those occassions when they won’t go out we keep this out. Very convenient to to just take the top part off and throw away the dirty pad.

It locks into place also so pee doesn’t get all over the floor in cases when you don’t use something like this holder. Trust me on that! Also great if you are gone for extended amount of time so you know they don’t have to hold it.

Prevents accidents throughout the house.

I’ve had a subscription to FreshPatch for over 2 years now (since December 2019) when my dog was a puppy. We started with the MINI version and as she grew, we ended up settling on the STANDARD size. Our dog is a 12-13lb ShihTzu and standard works great.

If we had more space I would certainly upgrade to LARGE or even XL so she would have more space but standard works perfect for us. We don’t have a yard or grass area as we live in a townhome complex with no yards or parks.

Though my dog has no problem doing her business in the dirt areas, we would rather her not go on walks when it is dark. We have coyotes nearby and our last dog was attacked and killed by one so we are overprotective with our current pup.

FreshPatch has been the answer to our restroom safety concerns!Every single late night, we tell our Rylee “go potty on your grass then we can go upstairs and get our treat and go night night!” She excitedly jumps on her grass and does her business safely.

We sometimes keep it inside the house and also move it onto the balcony. We get ours delivered every 4 weeks since she typically only uses it late at night and goes on walks during the daylight hours.

We love FreshPatch and are so happy we found it! We use to have one of those plastic grass patches and it smelled terribly and was a pain to clean often. With this grass, after the 4 weeks is up, we just throw it away and replace it with the new grass.

Not wanting to restrict him with diapers we began looking for alternatives and we have found Fresh Patch. Although Mango does not seem to adjust to the grass after over a week of attempts, I believe it to be an excellent quality product.

It is still very much alive and thriving nearly two weeks later. I love the way it feels and looks and since Mango isn’t using it, I have been enjoying its use as a bed mat. Nothing more satisfying than getting out onto green grass every morning! Wife thinks I am quite indeed weird but I refuse to throw it out until it dies.

Bottom line, I explained briefly what my problem was after the company followed up on my satisfaction with their product and within thirty minutes they refunded me for the grass. It wasn’t even their fault! Mango was the one who didn’t want to use it! What a pleasurable experience this was! My 6 year old long-haired chihuahua Choco is pad trained, but we’ve been having this issue where he steps on his fresh *** and tracks it all over the apartment floor, making me mop the floor multiple times a day.

*** pads also don’t do a great job with odor control, so it was time to look for an alternative. And fresh patch solved my problem! Choco’s always been good with peeing on grass when we’re on walks, so he picked it up in no time.

We received the patch on Jan 8 so it’s been 4 days (and Choco pees about 3-4 times a day) and I haven’t noticed any odor. With *** pads, I had to replace every day (if not twice a day) to get rid of the urine smell.

So this is working out great for us! There was a bit of a hiccup in shipping, but it wasn’t Fresh Patch’s fault — OnTrac, the courier had kept the package at their warehouse for almost a week, during which the grass patch – being moist and all – had developed mold.

But Fresh Patch sent out a replacement via FedEx right away and it got here in no time. The support team is always super responsive and they get your problems solved!.

I’m transitioning my puppy from using pee pads inside his playpen to this litter box. He now lifts his leg to pee and this helps side leakage. He will mainly be house trained as well as going outside.

Hopefully this will be an alternative to catch where he aims. I notice him looking for a surface in which to aim. The sides of his playpen has openings and his aim extends the pee pad. The litter box is working so far.

The sides of the pan are the right height for my yorkie. With a little more training we will be all set. I love it. I use 2 pee pads in the pan. You must use one pad upside down to absorb the pee or it will be messy.

Perfect for my tri-pod cat. I was looking for a low box entrance for her. She had another brand prior which was a slanted low-rise. As she aged she was unable to get into that box anymore. Luckily I saw this one and she is “back-in-the-habit” of using a box.

Only downside is another cat of mine pees to high and it goes onto the floor. Yet, I now place a large pee-pad under it for this reason. Even though there are other litter boxes, at times he uses it too.

This litter box is a gamer saver for my tri-pod, only difference is I would make the sides higher and keep the same height to get in and out.

I looked at a lot of low entry boxes for my elderly cat. I settled on this dog box because of size and price. You need a little more litter but it is worth not having accidents. He has a bad back and it helps him not to have to jump in or out and he loves to dig and we love that the litter isn’t everywhere.

I think it would work well for a small dog or a puppy either on a patio or a vented bathroom. I don’t think I would want dog poop smelling up house. But maybe this is more for accidents (I would use a pheromone fire hydrant to teach them or maybe take to a spot they pee regularly and encourage them in to train, then bring inside).

I bought this because a pad alone does not have a guide to let my dog know she is off the pad and sometimes she urinates on the side of the pad and I end up with a wet floor to clean up. She took to it right away and it worked she doing all her business there! She is a small dog and only uses the pad because I’m not able to take her outside.

I just ordered three more pans for different areas in my house, so happy this worked. I have two of the frames and was going to purchase more of them but they need to be cleaned because little wet tt’s dripple but I have not had the same issue with the pan so far.

I also love all I have to do is take the pad roll it up put a new one in without lifting up a nasty frame. YEAH!! life a little easer sometimes it’s the little things thank you chewy.

I bought the large puppy pan since it said it was good for small dogs. I laid two pads in it each time. After using the pan for a few weeks I notice the urine smell was in the plastic. I tried cleaning it with different sprays but nothing worked.

I even put it outside to air out but the smell seems to be still there. Not sure what to do. Seems like I wasted my money on what I thought was a good idea. Had anyone else had the issue with the smell? And how did you resolve the problem?.

My toy poodle puppy is 5lbs and he’s pee pad trained. I line this large pan with a pee pad. It took a couple days for him to get used to it. At first he only puts his front paws in and then pees so he still makes a mess – I had to encourage him to go inside and lift his bottom so he gets what I want him to do.

He got it after the 2nd day. No more edge misses. Quality is very good, hoping it will last 15 years since he is strictly pad trained. I change the pad downstairs twice a day. I don’t even need to wash it.

I just clean with wet wipes and paper towel if he misses. No smell. Definitely recommend something like this that’s a lot cheaper since it’s just basically a plastic pan with a lower lip. I wanted to buy a second one for upstairs at night time but needed something bigger than this – he usually goes #2 twice and doesn’t want to go too close to where he did it the first time.

I bought a washing machine pan instead. Hope it will work.

Okay, first of all, this bad boy shipped in below freezing temperatures (with below zero Fahrenheit the night before, so you know it was plenty cold in the truck or warehouse or wherever) without any protective packing, just a box.

It arrived in perfect condition! Now I’ve had plenty of plastic things shipped in this weather crack or chip because they get brittle, but not this tray! It’s a very good quality plastic! Solid, without being overly heavy.

Big. Measure your space! I’m using mine as a cat litter box (why do dogs get a color choice but cats don’t?) with a non-clumping litter and frankly, the cats love the space it offers! Bonus – my cat with the nerve damage in one leg has no problems getting in or out of this one because of the lower entry.

The product is as described. A thick, strudy quality tray. We ordered this shortly before our puppy passed away. By the time it was delivered our friend was gone. It took us almost a month to to find the strength the strength to request a return label and refund.

Chewy issued the refund immediately immediately and sent their condolences They suggested that we donate the item which is what we plan on doing. I feel as if this will be a good way to help my family with the grieving process.

Thank you Chewy. We have 2 other dogs and we will be buying all of our supplies from Chewy from day forward.

I have a nine month old Morkie male. He just started raising his leg to eliminate but he was getting his pee on his stomach and his front legs. It was enough that I needed to clean him every time. Also raising his leg made him miss the pad and most of his pee was going on the floor.

The indoor dog potty tray has really helped. What misses the pads just goes into the tray. My floor doesn’t get wet. I only have to change the pad once a day. I was cleaning my floor as many as five times a day and now I don’t have to clean it at all!!! I wish the entrance was smaller (my puppy only weighs 61/2 pounds).

Our 8 week old puppy took to this immediately. We live in a condo so we needed a solution to let our puppy ***** safely before she’s fully vaccinated. There’s no “Safe space” outside where we can take her that other dogs wouldn’t have gone already.

I had no idea if it would be hard initially to get her used to it, but we plopped her down on it as soon as we brought her home and she went *** right away. We had to re-direct her a couple of times during the **** sniff, but after a few times she knew this was her ***** spot.

Doesn’t mean she was ***** trained that quickly 🙂 but she knew when we put her there that it was her spot to go. 3 weeks later, this is the best thing we could have done. Having to take a puppy out every 15-20 minutes living in a condo would have been a nightmare.

We keep it on our patio which is fairly large, and I never smell anything. I’ve ordered a 2nd one to keep in my car so when I take her places (carrying her only ), I can stick her down on the “safe grass” so she doesn’t have to hold it the entire time.

I will probably keep one on our patio well beyond when I can take her outside also, for early morning and late night *****’s, until she’s old enough not to go so frequently. We had some issues with delivery – FedEx’s fault not fresh patch, but their customer service is excellent and helping me resolve it every time (fedex is awful!).

I’d trained my 6 month old puppy to potty inside on potty pads (with relative success), but she seemed reluctant to poo outside. Knowing we’ll be going to places where the dog relief area is astroturf, I got this in the hopes she’d get more comfortable going on fake *and* real grass.

And it worked! She now potties anywhere except solid dirt, and she really took to this patch without much coaxing. It’s easy to clean and pick up poo from, and amazingly she doesn’t pull the grass mat off the frame (my biggest concern, initially).

In fact, aside from chewing some of the fake grass bits now and then, she’s only ever using it to potty (daily), which is double impressive to me.

I am very happy with this potty tray with the exception that I am disappointed that you don’t sell replacement grass for this. I should have checked before I ordered but I did see you had grass for sale before and I had ordered some for my other potty tray.

I just hope you get a size and type that will fit this type of tray. I choose this potty tray because it had a drawer which I like. Then I looked to see about ordering grass and asked the question online and that’s when I received the answer that no you did not sell replacement and since I had just received it but my dog had used it I Didn’t ask to return it.

The turf absorbs all of the pee like a sponge. The description is false the pee does not flow through and collect into the tray. With daily rinsing and washing the tray the awful smell of urine remains.

The smell is mostly in the turf and it seems to just absorb into the turf pad. The product simply does not work!.

This is not a great product, at first glance it does. When it’s time to clean it due to the pee, the smell is horrible. I have cleaned the fake grass so much and the smell doesn’t leave. It’s so strong now that I had to throw it out.

I basically had to go back to wee wee pads for my dogs. What a waste of money for I thought would be a great product.

My little dog really likes it. It snows here in Idaho and this potty pee pads gives him almost real grass to go on. In the pan underneath I put pine pellets which absorbs his pee and then I just dump it all into the trash.

Works great for me because I don’t have to take him outside any more. Just let him out on the patio that’s covered.

I like the product. Good quality. Just didnt realize that it takes more clean up time. Even if you use pads. But the product itself is great

Wish I could return this and get my money back. Even if you clean this product after everytime your dog or puppy uses it, it will still retain an oder. I had high hopes for this, but it was too expense, and too much upkeep.

I will be going back to regular disposable potty pads, and I’d recommend the same to you.

My 13 year old Cavalier goes out to the back porch to pee but won’t do the stairs down to the yard anymore. I bought this hoping for a more attractive solution to puppy pads. The cat sleeps on it but the dog won’t pee on it.

It was worth a try. Maybe your dog will use it?.

I live in an apartment on the third floor with no elevator in Maryland where we get a taste of every season. I got a puppy (springer spaniel, about 4 months old now, just over 20lbs) and started searching for something like this.

Found artificial grass/turf type pads on Amazon that were small and worked great but the clean up is gross and it’s a constant upkeep. Doggielawn was perfect. My puppy took to it immediately just like she was going outside and she loves the addition of grass on my deck since there’s no backyard.

I have two of the XL trays and it was an amazing investment. Grass lasts a while too. Ideal for the snow and very cold, the blistering heat, the rain, and for working from home with a puppy who needs to go out all the time, I can just open the deck door and she goes right to them.

You of course won’t deprive your dogs of walks but this is great for the scenarios above and similar scenarios. I also liked that I could get grass that was more local to my area and save money that way.

The thought is there, but still needs a lot of tweaking. First off the tray you have to buy with it is so expensive for what you actually get. Cheap plastic. Secondly you aren’t supposed to let it get wet, which I understand but for my situation it is unavoidable.

My lawn got soaked and I was greeted with the most foul smell. Even after praying solution to help it still reeked. When you go to change out the lawn, it is the most disgusting process, and they tray is left with water and pee and is impossible to clean up.

I have only had my lawn for a little over a week and already have a new one on the way. I am very apprehensive to lay it out in fear that it is going to rain again. And again I can’t just pick it up and move it inside to shield from rain.

Doggie lawn should offer some sort of cover to help with this issue because clearly my homemade version just made everything worse. I am still looking for solutions and open to options, but very sad that I have already spent close to $90 for a piece of grass my dog is disgusted with.

We’ve been Doggie Lawn users since Fall 2019, so this review is LONG overdue. We live in a mid-rise in a large city and getting out via the freight elevator and around the block for a 2-second potty break isn’t always an appealing option, especially when it’s raining, sleeting, snowing or so windy it will rip the hat off your head.

We trained our puppy to use his grass patch when he was young and haven’t looked back. We simply put him on the grass and would turn him around if he tried to wander off, repeatedly using the “go potty” command.

He got the hang of it within three days. We have the XL delivered every 2 weeks for our mini poodle and it’s been a great upgrade from the L, which used to get a little stinky between changes in the hot months.

Changing out the patches is a cinch because each box comes with plastic gloves and the new latch is rolled in a plastic bag you can dispose of your old lawn in. We’ve had a couple “faulty” patches (moldy/extremely muddy) but DL customer service took care of everything right away.

Even after washing these pads did not seem as absorbent. They were also smaller than another style I bought. The clincher was the snaps. My puppies could not leave them alone! Pulled the pads all over the room, whether single or snapped together.

They did not work for me. t.

I bought this system online and realize I didn’t have the pads. Bout then at petco thankfully. This just wasn’t a good solution for my accident prone puppy. It ended up being a chew toy and the pads were soaked after one work day if use.

Atleast there was no leakage!.

My puppy is very particular about where she pottys. These are great because she will actually go on these without the grass mat on top and they are machine washable! I throw them in the washer machine and they smell washes right out ! So glad I found these.

Just got the Coziwow Potty Pad but haven’t used it yet (new puppy yet to arrive). It looks like a decent quality product: grass isn’t prickly or smelly and woven well. The base is a good size (but actually 24″ X 19″ not 25″ X 20″).

An issue we do foresee: there’s nothing to hold the pad in place when the dog jumps off and/or kicks back after doing his business. The “lip” holding the pad is too shallow and it’ll likely just fly off the pad.

Other reviewers mentioned clips to hold the pad, but this one does NOT include those. (Turns out the reviews were for another pad – “Pet Loo”, which btw also includes urine absorbing powder, which this one doesn’t.

We checked reviews for Pet Loo at amazon and they weren’t good. ) So. we’re planning on using bungee cords to hold the grass in place – fingers crossed!.

Can’t use it. my puppy pulled the grass right off. They should have made it where it couldn’t move. Waste of money.

Absolutely love this for our balcony. It does not look cheap like some of the options on other websites, and it is so easy to clean up. Our little Aussie pup loves it, and doesn’t try to chew it (he chews *literally* everything else!!) and sometimes he’ll even go out and just lay on it.

I also love that you can buy the replaceable grass and do not have to get a whole new mat every time. If you are considering a grass mat this one is definitely the best value for dollar!.

Our doodle loves to use the reusable dog trainer. I love that it’s easy to clean. It’s durable enough to withstand frequent washings. We use two next to each other to create a nice size space or her.

I used this for a few days before I received my real grass pad for use on my balcony. Turns out my pup prefers this one and the ease of using it when HE needs to. He loves being able to relieve himself on his own time.

Truly a saving grace.

I wasn’t sure if this would work or not but it does work my 10 week old Chinese Shar Pei Puppy uses it when he doesn’t have enough time to get outside. This is great !!!! The first time he used it I was thrilled and now instead of us having to get up at 3a.

m. to go out side to potty he just goes to his grass mat relieve himself and crawls right back into bed to cuddle up to me and go back to sleep. This is great !!! We live on the 6th floor of an apartment building and I was afraid he might have an accident before we could get downstairs but with the pad he just relieves himself and then patiently waits til we get downstairs to finish whatever he needs to do.

I was going to use puppy pads but this is so much better and much more economical I don’t have to keep buying expensive pads constantly, I just empty the pan and wash the pan and tray and grass and we are good to go.

Very well made. Right size for my 12 lb. shih-Tzu. Only wish I would have tried this 13 yrs ago when I was potty training a puppy. Now that she’s older she can’t hold her urine all day while we’re at work.

I keep her in the utility room during the day, and a few weeks ago started wetting the floor sometimes. I tried the training pads on the floor, but she didn’t catch on to potty on that. So I searched I-net for dog training mat with a tray.

This looked like the best one I could find, and for the price just under $30. It has a very convenient pull-out tray, but I don’t think I will ever have to empty anything. I received this in 8 days, 02/07/2019, and put a training pad underneath the artificial turf to absorb the liquid.

I still put towels on the floor around this, and she would potty on the towels instead. I placed a towel with her urine on the artificial turf and left it for a couple of days, then took it off to wash with the other wet towels.

And for the first time yesterday (2weeks) I found urine on the training pad I had placed under the artificial turf! But she also wet on a towel, so hopefully she will start using the mat and tray only.

I always believe “patience” is the answer to training. I won’t give up on my baby, I think she’ll learn to use this only.

I bought 1 initially then purchased 2 additional for different spots. I have a puppy that wont go outside and likes to urinate on the floor. He quickly started going on this and within a few days it fixed the problem.

The quality is great, easy clean and if you have a bigger dog you can just put them side to side for more space. I never leave product reviews but I think this is amazing and made my life a lot easier.
