Deerflies ignore this stuff, but I absolutley love it for hiking in case you find little patches of marshside trails. It’s great because the mosquitoes stay off when you apply and then it’s gone in 20 minutes.

Obviously, a good impetus to keep up your hiking pace! For the temporary trailside fix, I love it and have been using it since 2006. Bonus tip: apply it to the top of your hat and the back and shoulders of your shirt, and clothing and the effects are longer than on the skin.

Also, slather it right on your ears–no more annoying hum and buzz.

So I bought this bug spray for my newborn bc we live in Florida and the bugs are terrible here. I wanted something that wasn’t going to compromise my babies well being but also work! He started getting hit in his sleep, no matter what I did to wash the sheets and do what needed to be done he kept getting bite by something and would have little red dots on him in the mornings.

So I started spraying this around his bed and low and behold no more bites. Then I started using when we would go outside or for a walk and no mosquito bites or any bites for that matter. It isn’t sticky and doesn’t smell awful like other products! The first one I bought when I opened the package it had leaked out half way and the customer service was amazing and they sent out another without having to send back the original one, free or charge! I will always use this products and continue to tell people about how amazing this company is! Plus we use it as adults on us and it works just as good!.

Though this was originally purchased for the grandchildren, I use it around my neck, ears and hairline to keep this pesky jiggers, black flies, mosquitoes, ticks from biting me. I feel good about using this natural product and that I am not going to glow in the dark at some point.

Plus it is very outside like, pleasant fragrance. We live in New England and we thank your Mom, again. I gift to my daughter’s family and others.

I bought this when my daughter was a baby (6 years ago) and finally finished the bottle. Now she has cheer practice 4x a week outdoors so we are going through bug spray like crazy, but! she hasn’t had a single bug bite since starting cheer.

I received this product in exchange for my honest review. So my husband and I moved to Arizona in 2020 and we heard about all the monsoon weather that happens in the summer time. First year wasn’t too bad and then the summer of 2021 came and we discovered that with all that wonderful rain that we need, comes some standing water with it.

And what does that matter? Well, it attracts mosquito’s. Lots of them. And even if there’s no standing water, the lovely humid weather seems to be their favorite time of year. And I’ve discovered last year also that I am in fact allergic to mosquitos.

lol I had so many on my ankle last summer that my foot swelled and I could hardly walk. Now I have Stem! This really couldn’t have come at a better time and it actually works! I spray some on my legs and arms and disperse it around.

It’s a little oily to start but as it sets it’s better and no longer noticeable. I don’t detect any fragrance on it and I love the fact that it’s natural ingredients compared to all the chemical stuff on the market right now.

This review is going to be strictly based on the concept of this spray and what I like about it so far considering it’s cold here in the northeast and I’ll have to wait until the summer time to really put this to the test.

I like it. The idea of having a chemical-free mosquito repellant is nice, especially since my son has sensitive skin. I had a hard time finding a mosquito repellant last summer that wouldn’t irritate his skin, so this definitely may come in handy.

I sprayed a few sprays just to get an impression on the spritzer and it’s also really nice. It’s not clunky like most sprays – almost like a mist, really. It felt kinda oily in my hand so that tells me it’ll be very easy to apply/rub in once the summer gets here.

It also had a fresh, clean scent to it. Most mosquito repellants I’ve tried in the past had a very harsh chemically scent to it, so this is a refresher. Overall, I like the idea of naturally derived and can’t wait to use in the summer.

I received this product for free from Influenster and STEM in exchange for my honest review. As you can see my backyard is a jungle right now and mosquitoes are awful. I’m a dog mom and dog foster mom and I walk the dogs every day at least twice in the afternoon and I ALWAY get covered in mosquito bites.

Today I used the STEM mosquito repellent and I didn’t get a single bite the whole time I was outside. As far as smell goes it smells like a citronella candle. The only thing I’m not a huge fan of is how oily it made my skin feel, but within about 5 minutes most of it had absorbed into my skin.

The product comes out in more of a stream than a mist but I just used my hand to spread it out on my skin. It’s DEET free, has botanical extracts and is entomologist tested and safe for use around kids and pets.

I’d say it’s an 9/10 for feel but a 10/10 for functionality. #complimentary @Influenster.

I recently got this about a month ago and I’m so glad that I did. The months have been unseasonably warm for this time of year, so my family has been spending more time in our yard. We tend to get a lot of mosquitoes and other creepy crawlies so I like to be prepared.

This spray works wonders! Way better than another brand that I was using. My son seems to get bitten by everything out there. Since I started using this bug spray I haven’t heard any complaints about being wicked itchy.

The 1st time we used it, I wasn’t even aware of the mosquitoes. Usually I’m slapping the heck outta myself or shooing them away. No fun at all. This time it was all fun because I wasn’t worrying or shooing.

I also like it because it doesn’t stink. Most bug repellents have this odor to them that isn’t to good smelling. Another plus is that it’s a spray on. Makes it so much easier to cover more skin quickly.

It’s better than a lotion type because they can tend to feel sticky. Sticky means other thing’s sticking to you as well. I’m a fan of the spray type. I will definitely be using again next spring and summer season’s.

I use this every time a have a bonfire a cookout and when I go camping and especially fishing. The mosquitos are bad where we go fishing. I spray this on everyone there with me and it works great. It’s not sticky and it doesn’t have a overpowering scent to it.

It sprays evenly on to my skin and no one has had a bad reaction to it. I would recommend this product. It keeps my family and friends safe from mosquitoes and ticks.

We are frequent hikers in some remote areas (as well as very traveled areas) and Ben’s is fantastic. Keeps the bugs and bites away. Yes it has Deet, but we only use it when the bugs are truly out in force! It goes on a bit wet, so we make sure to do a solid cleanse when we are done with our hike.

I have tried so many insect repellents over the years with varying degrees of effectiveness, then I found this repellent at Ace Hardware and decided to give it a try because I was looking for something less toxic.

I live in Florida and found that Bug Soother works very very well with mosquitoes and flying insects. I mountain bike and hike, and this has done an excellent job for up to four hours. I only say “up to four hours” because that was how long I was out among the mosquitoes; I imagine if I had been out longer then it may have still worked like magic or I would simply add another spritz to exposed areas.

Before I run out of this, I am going to buy a couple more bottles for fear that it will fly off the shelf!.

We love to go wilderness camping, but the dogs are not always as thrilled. Bugs, especially flies and mosquitoes, love to bite the poor pups. This was our first time using this product and the pups have never been more comfortable.

Sure, there was a lingering bug or two, but for the most part the pups were protected and much happier. No bad reactions and they didn’t mind the scent as much as other products. Highly recommended for dogs!.

Ive given it a few chances now and it really works better as a body spray than a bug repellent. I noticed no difference in the amount of bugs on and or around me. Pretty disappointed but at least I smell good when I go inside.

This is the most effective natural big spray. I’ve tried many of them and none work as well as this! I have bad allergic reactions to most insect bites, but I also have incredibly sensitive skin and have reactions to many fragrances and sprays.

California Baby natural bug blend repellent is our new favorite. We live in Texas out in the country and the mosquitos this year are the size of humming birds, not really but pretty close, due to our mild winter, with that being said.

this stuff works. I was shocked because it is Deet free but the all natural ingredients citronella, lemongrass, cedar have kept the bugs off and no bites. The essential oils in this replant smell great and I don’t worry about my son putting his hands and arms in his mouth since this is “natural” It does recommend reapplying every thirty minutes which I thought was sort of a bummer but I know there have been several evenings on our walks I have forgotten to reapply half way through and my son and I were still without bites.

We all use this bug spray now and we love it!!!.

As someone who attracts mosquitoes like a magnet attracts iron filings, having an effective mosquito repellent is a must for me. I hate using harsh, toxic chemicals like Deet or Picaridin, as they irritate my sensitive skin.

I’ve tried several all-natural repellents, but this is far and away the best I’ve found! I’ve been using it for more than three weeks and have only gotten three bites–which is amazing, considering my job requires me to be outside in shorts at dusk four nights a week.

As long as you shake it vigorously before applying, it goes on light and has an absolutely wonderful scent–my co-workers tell me it smells just like birthday cake (and they’re right!) It hasn’t stained my clothing either.

I also love that I can buy it in a large, 8-ounce bottle, because I go through a lot of it. You do need to re-apply it frequently, but that’s par for the course with any natural insect repellent. Trust me: this one is a winner!.

I’m always a bit skeptical of all-natural insect repellents. I hike and need something reliable to minimize the chance of tick bites. This is one of the best natural repellents I’ve found. So far, it’s proven effective against mosquitos and ticks, and it smells amazing- sort of vanilla-ish, not like a bug spray at all!.

This is by far THE WORST repellent I have ever used. Sprayed some on before going on a walk with my dog and OMG mosquitos were all over me! I was better off without a repellent than with this! I hate off spray because it feels tacky and sticky, I was really hoping this would work but it is a NO GO! Will return and NEVER buy again!!!!.

Have to re-apply fairly often, especially if sweating, but seems to work well and smells good. Not sticky. Black flies are not deterred by it, though. (Nothing works for THEM).

I sprayed my feet through my sandals and let me tell you. 1st of all its a dry continuous spray so I didn’t even realize I had soaked my feet and sandals. So greasy that I was shining! shortly after it started drying and my feet were literally stuck to my shoes.

I got in the shower to wash both my feet and Sandals then noticed that the straps were bubbled up and peeling on my shoes. once I started washing my feet my pedicured toes were destroyed. this stuff literally melted my polish! I guess it did help with mosquitoes but ruined other things also.

I’ve had this product for 2 years now. I routinely get eaten alive every summer, but this allows me to be in the humid Minnesota summer and actually enjoy being outside. One point, it’s a little oily and try not to get it on your face much- doesn’t taste good and can make your lips go a little numb.

Still would pick this over anything else, actually works.

This item came at such a good time! I always get an increased number of bug bites during the warmer months. Upon using this product, I immediately noticed and appreciated the scent! I’ve used other bug sprays with a strong “bug spray” smell and this product had a more pleasant scent in my opinion! The only concern I have about this product is the oily/greasy feeling.

I sprayed it and rubbed it in hoping that the feeling would go away but it just left my hands oily. The feeling goes away after some time, I would just use less of product next time I apply it. Overall it was a good product and I love that its good and all natural and safe for pets and kids! I would recommend this product!.

The item couldn’t have come at a better time. I’ve had an increase in outdoor time, open country that comes with mosquitos. After the first night, I made sure to pack this in my purse since I was attracting to many bugs.

The size of the bottle made it perfect for travel. I shared with an adult family member and our childrem. We both happened to notice the same things: effectiveness and the smell. We both enjoyed our evening outdoors with out having to swat at bugs, there was a SIGNIFICANT decrease in bites from the previous night, and the smell wasn’t lingering.

I love the smell of this product and I love the fact that this product is all natural and safe for pets and kids. However, I have worn this a few times and it seems a bit greasy/oily to me. I rub it in but still find it to be very oily.

I used this once on a hike and dirt and insects actually stuck to me because of the product. I am not sure if i’m using too much but it takes a long time to dry and is oily for at least 30 minutes after application.

For this reason, I am not sure I’d recommend this product. If you don’t mind the oily feeling on your skin this is for you! I do love the smell and the natural aspects of it and will definitely keep trying to use this product.

A friend on the beach offered to let me use this o e day for the biting flies. It worked so well (regular insect repellent did not) that I went on line and ordered two!

It’s what you’d should expect from Off as far as effectiveness. However, it is not like the old product I’m used to. It really does feel smooth and dry once you spray it on. I don’t feel that stickiness I used to when I was a kid.

The smell is very pleasant. I don’t feel like I smell like a chemical factory and as though I have to take a shower immediately after use. I can go all day long and be comfortable. After a bit, I don’t even smell it, and I for sure don’t feel it on my skin.

I’m a mosquito magnet, and this works! It’s a great price, too! Definitely happy with this purchase.

Given that DEET is so bad for the environment, I try to use the minimal concentration necessary to keep my family and me safe from insects and ticks. This spray has a much more subtle scent and definitely feels “lighter” than the “Deep Woods” version.

It does still have a mild gritty, dry, white residue that is noticeable to touch on skin and visible on dark clothing (kind of like dry shampoo). Otherwise it is effective for day to day use. I would still prefer the higher DEET version for hiking/camping.

Let me first say that I am allergic to insects- I’llosquito bites when I invent I weld up like a size of a quarter This bug spray is the best spray I have ever used ever! Not sticky or smelly in fact my 18 month old granddaughter lets me put it on her.

was at a party over the weekend, outside for 10 hours. They sprayed the whole yard the night before, I put this spray on several times, and even used an OFF fogger that had great reviews, still got bit up, so did everyone else! must of put this spray on at least 10-12 times.

maybe it helped a little, got bit maybe 6 times instead of 20, but that could of been the fogger helping too. I guess this one is average, never can find something that actually works! disappointing! it does feel nice on the skin though and it says uneven tree Ed but has that nice bug spray scent of some kind, not chemically and gross, so I’ll give it that!.

Get OFF! It keeps the mosquitos off and away for some time. No scent! No more buzzing around until I have an hour of itching and scratching to a raised bump but sometimes I can get 50 bites all at once so I go outside and dump all the standing water so I do not help them.

Pictures are from my dogs water dish in 5 days it’s full of the larvas. It’s pretty affordable, too, and it lasts a while. I usually spray the outside of my shoes and clothes because I don’t like it on my skin.

If you live in Texas, then you know how bad the mosquitoes are! I live by a small lake, so I have an army of mosquitoes in my yard, waiting to attack. I’ve tried so many different repellents, and I can confidently say this spray is a JOKE… the absolute WORST! Within minuets of spraying this all over me, it seemed to attract even more mosquitoes! I was so miserable from the dozens of bites on my arms and legs.

I had to throw the whole bottle in the trash.

I purchased Stay Away Mosquitoes Insect Repellent mid-summer this year for ticks. They are a problem on my property. Mosquitoes are not a problem but ticks in a horse pasture are. I would normally have 1 or 2 bites a day.

Since I’ve used the mosquito and tick repellent, I have not had one bite. I especially love that I can use it in the morning to walk the dogs and do not need to reapply in the late afternoon. Great product.

The product is fantastic and works very well. The scent of citronella is strong, but not as unpleasant and chemical-ish as other commercial brands. The 2. 7 oz bottle was great for travel until I reached my final destination, and noticed that it leaked all over.

It was in my carry-on suitcase so it was not exposed to extreme temps, and I assured the caps were on tightly. Disappointing as I had to throw it away to travel home. On the positive side, the bag I had it in was cloth and it washed out easily, without leaving an oily residue.

I will purchase again, but I just won’t travel with it.

This stuff WORKS. Only thing is, if you typically get completely swarmed by mosquitoes like me, you have to put it ALL OVER or they will find the area you missed but I have this problem will all bug repellents.

For example, I went for a 10 min walk the other day at sunset in humid east Texas. I covered every inch of my arms and legs in this stuff but forgot to put it on my feet and I wore sandals. After the walk, I had about 7-8 bites on my feet but none anywhere else.

I prefer this stuff because it isn’t sticky like normal but sprays and actually makes my skin feel nice and hydrated. The smell is fresh and not overpowering at all and I’m very sensitive to strong smells.

Only wish it had SPF and came in a much larger size since you have to cover your whole body in it.

OFF! Botanical plant-based repellent really threw me for a loop. I was expecting a goopy, greasy, strong scented insect repellent. it was the exact opposite! While being a thicker lotion consistency, it was very light and it left my skin with a breathable nice feel.

There is ZERO scent! Nobody will know you are wearing bug repellant. A little bit goes a long way as well I applied a dime size amount and it was ole ty for my whole arm! This review was collected as part of a promotion, and the opinions are my own.

This lotion is just what I needed. Barely any scent If any at all. Normal lotion feeling, not sticky not greasy. Soooooo much better than the disgusting spray that smells so bad and fumes get in your mouth.

The first thing I noticed was that this doesn’t have that strong “bug spray” smell. It was very, very mild. One pump on my arm delivered a pretty targeted spray and didn’t cover a broad area. My issue was that it wouldn’t dry on my arm.

It looked kind of like glistening oil. I noticed after about a minute that my arm wasn’t dry at all. So I decided to see how long it would take to dry. I gave up after 10 minutes. My arm was still wet where I sprayed it.

When I touched it with my finger it dissipated on my fingers when I rubbed them together but it just continued to stay wet on my arm. I’ve never encountered anything like that before with bug spray. I just used an antibacterial wipe and then soap and water to wash it off instead of trying to rub it in.

A very faint scent has lingered on my arm, but that is typical after washing off bug spray. I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable spraying this on clothes and since it wouldn’t dry on my skin I won’t be using it there either as I have no desire to have to rub in bug spray.

I really wanted to like this due to the mild smell factor but it’s a no-go for me.

This stuff is absolutely amazing. The mosquitos here in Michigan have been so horrid this year. They swarm you the instance you walk outside. We gave Ben’s a shot hoping that we could find some kind of relief and relief is what we got.

This stuff works much better than other brands I have used. Most bug sprays smell horrible but this doesn’t, which was very pleasing to our family. This stuff has been awesome for my husband as well while hunting.

Usually he would come out with one or two ticks. since he has started using this we havent found one. We will 100% continue to use this.

I live in Colorado and spend a lot of time in the woods. Ben’s is the only insect/tick repellent that I have found that truly works every single time. It does an excellent job repelling insects, mosquitoes and ticks.

My wife even likes it because it doesn’t smell bad and one application in the morning and you’re set for all day. This size bottle is also great for backpacking as it’s lightweight and doesn’t add much weight.

This is a MUST for being outdoors!.

I hate the smell of every single one of these products. But I think I I hate mosquito bites worse. Honestly they see me and yell “Buffet”. We have had our yard sprayed, we have citronella candles and we still get these pesky things lurking around to grab my skin.

I use this because I have to. It works. I just really can’t stand the smell. They all stink. This one is the better one as far as smell goes but that’s not saying much.

Pleasant smell, feels decent on the skin, and bothers me less than DEET. I am usually the type to get eaten alive by mosquitoes. but this stuff really works! I just used it on myself and my two preschoolers in the late afternoon for a fireworks show, and no one was bitten.

The only thing is, the scent is a little difficult to wash out of your clothes. Still, I’d rather smell faintly of vanilla and geraniol than traditional insect repellent. We have used this before and one thing I will say is I strongly prefer the aerosol spray over the pump-type spray.

I am the type who would rather not get repellent all over my hands to rub it in, no matter how nice it smells or non-toxic it is.

Ok so my skin has such a problem with bug spray and I used this at my parents house because of the “natural” aspect I thought it would be fine. I broke out with itchy tiny bumps all over my legs and had to immediately wash it off.

Now I gave it 2 stars for 2 reasons, 1 being how light the scent it was. I wish I could use this because it has the lightest smell I’ve come across. #2, my family can wear this just fine and swear by it!.
