23 Best Jump Starter For Boats (2022 Updated)

This review is mainly for the build quality, expected performance and wireless charging. This is because we have not yet had a flat battery in order to check how it charges our 5. 7 liter vehicle. The starter arrived 75% charged and had fast wireless charging straight from the box.

To be clear, by faster, I mean it is faster than either of our other wireless chargers which are directly connected to the wall and completes a full charge of a Samsung S10 in under 30 minutes. For folks with older phones or devices it also has USB charging, which one would presume, is also at breakneck speed.

It is smaller than expects and fits nicely into the glove box. We would ideally like one in the house and also one in the car, as we have many power outages where we live. The starter is rated to start a 6.

0 cylinder vehicle, so we are hoping it will charge our 5. 7 liter. Though, we also have a lot of electrics in the car, and we would not be surprised if it would not charge a completely dead battery.

Though it presumably includes a function to slowly build up the battery from the completely dead state. Different starter manufacturers use different terms to describe this feature. Overall, it looks better than many of the cheaper starters we compared this model to.

But without an actual dead battery, it would be difficult to quantify which works best under different weather conditions etc. So far, it exceeds our expectations.

Light on front has a red reflector that should slide into place instead of being a separate piece that does not stay on. I’d rather see a portable CB on it in place of the radio. That would make the price make more sense.

I appreciate the options I just feel it could have been better designed.

IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased as a gift so dont know yet how it works but I was very surprised a the weight when it arrived. The size given wa reasonable and I figured portable so not hard to carry or move around or carry in car.

I was shocked when I couldnt lift the box. Tho I’m old I didnt expect it to be so very heavy. I hope my son doesnt find it too heavy and inconvenient.

IšverstiShow in original languageSeveral years ago, my husband and I had purchased one of those “traditional” battery jumpers. They’re pretty big (but still portable) and heavy, but that’s what we had.

And it worked for the occasional dead battery. But we haven’t needed to jump anything in over a decade so when the battery on one of our cars turned up dead one day, imagine our dismay when we couldn’t get the jumper to charge up to jump the battery.

My husband had seen some YouTube videos about small LI jumpers that were actually better than the old kind. This one in particular was mentioned in several videos. So we got it but I was skeptical that something that small could jump a car battery, but it did! It holds a charge really well too.

We needed to jump another car shortly after the first and it handled it with ease, even though it hadn’t been recharged since the first time I used it. My one piece of advice is to watch some of the you tube videos that demonstrate this particular starter because the written instructions can be a little challenging to understand.

All in all, it’s a great product, even if you only use it for jumping dead batteries.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have recently started assembling a car emergency kit that includes (among other things): a 2. 75lb fire extinguisher, tire sealant and plugs, a portable air compressor, and finally this jump starter.

I specifically got this charger because of the positive reviews and the fact that it states it has 2000 amps at its peak current (I have no way to test this, sadly) which seemed to beat the competition at this price point.

Upon receiving it, I made sure to get familiar with it for when I will need to use it. It has: One USB-C port, which is used for charging the battery pack itself, but it’s also an outlet for electronics.

Two USB ports, one of which the manual states is rated at 2. 1amps which is pretty decent. One 12-volt DC output for other electronics. It has an LED flashlight with 3 modes; constantly on, repeating SOS, and flashing (flashes around 4 times per second.

) The manual states that when fully charged the flashlight can stay on for 36 hours straight. It throws off fewer lumens than my EDC flashlight, a Streamlight Stylus Pro (rated at 100 lumens), but the light is located on the same end as to where the jumper cables connect into the pack, so it should still make it easy to see what you’re doing when you jump a battery in the dark.

The jumper cables insert easily into a slot on the battery pack that is protected by a silicone gasket that stays closed when not in use to protect from debris, which is nice. Finally, (and what really pushed me to this jumper in particular) this pack has a charger block and a USB-C cable included to charge the unit.

Other products I looked at on did not necessarily have a charger or cable included, as they assumed that the end-user already had a way to charge the device. That’s one less item I have to buy just to permanently leave in this product’s carrying case stored in my trunk.

I will update my review when I experience having to use this jumper pack, but just owning it makes me feel more confident and self-sufficient in terms of car care.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis starter is going to be great. I have yet to start my car with it, thankfully, but my battery is old so no telling when it will come in handy. I have used it though to top off the tire pressure in my tires (with the included adaptor) and it work flawlessly.

There was plenty of power. I have also used to charge my smart phone. This is a great little tool at an affordable price to be carrying around in my car. It’s light weight and doesn’t take up a lot of space and comes in a nice sturdy carrying case.

I have bought TopVision products before and have been very happy with them. In my opinion they build quality products.

IšverstiShow in original languageFirst off let me say that I havent had a chance to make use of this yet thankfully. But my battery is getting close to its end of life so I will probably get to try it out soon.

I have seen this used by a youtuber that I follow and trust, so I believe it will be perfect when I need it. The jump starter itself is quite heavy and built really well. Its much better quality than my old one.

This comes with a 65w wall charger and fast charges this. Mine came with 75% charge I think it was, and after plugging it in, it was fully charged in about 20 minutes. It also comes with a nice usb-c cable and is able to fast charge devices with its usb -c port.

This has the ability to start a vehicle with a completely flat battery, which is one feature that a lot of cheaper ones cant do. And is one feature I most wanted. The battery clamps also feel like theyre great quality.

Also comes with a nice carry bag to keep everything together. As of right now Id recommend this, it will be worth every penny it costs. Ive tried the cheaper ones, and well, you get what you pay for.

IšverstiShow in original languageAssists I starting diesel equipment for business in single digit cold. Skid steers, dump trucks etc all crank much easier with this powerful jump starter. After replacing two starters and a few other electrical items I am sure they constant cranking and erratic power supply has been the culprit during this cold spell.

Also of note is the jump starter recharges rapidly. The only con I think of is the cheesy recharge cord that does not have a stowage place on jump start body. I am sure I/ employee will lose this sooner rather than later.

Oh, yes it is heavy but if you want the lower you need to accept that with any jump start.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this as a backup. Jumper cables can sometimes be a pain in the ass. You gotta find someone willing to stop and give you a jump. That said, I’ve only used this once.

I charged it to 100% on purchase and put it in the garage. A couple weeks later, the battery on my son’s truck (’11 Chevy Silverado 1500) was dead. He grabbed the jump box and it started like he had a brand new battery.

After that, I checked the charge status and it was at 95%. The manual says to recharge after every use. But, I’d say with a full charge, this jump box would be good for 5 or 6 cycles before needing recharged.

Very happy with this purchase. Would highly recommend.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have the 1700 watt with compressor and a lithium ion “4000” amp little cutesy box for when I don’t wanna carry the big boys. But This one starts everything. If I ‘m in a rush and I don’t have time to waste playing Goldilocks with the jump boxes, graduating up from small To large , I go straight for the big boy.

if it’s a truck or a big v8 or something I know has remote terminals instead of direct battery terminal access I just go straight to big red. It’s started super charged , twin turbo , poor ground , tiny terminals.

evrerything. I haven’t done a semi and for those and winter I’ll likely be graduating to a 10 k amp lithium ion beast of a jump box. But for the money this is the baddest thing out. The short cables are the only negative.

I realizethat at this power and the 2 guage instead of 0 guage the shorter cables will have less of a loss due to resistance but that means you have to lift the thing onto the customers car. Fine for me but everybody doesn’t live in the gym.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe AVAPOW 4000A jump starter is a great product. Lots of power in a small package. It charged up quickly. I have already used it on my 2001 Honda Civic that had a stone dead battery due to the severe cold weather we’ve been having the past month or so.

The charger is easy to handle. I used the LED light to see the battery terminals clearly because it was dark, and then wiped off some of the gunk on the terminals. Then I followed the simple instructions, hooked everything up to the battery, got in the car, pumped the gas pedal a couple of times, then turned the ignition key.

The engine cranked strongly for a couple seconds then started up easily. I also charged my Samsung S21 phones with my AVAPOW, and they charged much much faster than my house charger. Last thing I did was test the cig lighter adapter with my tire air inflator.

I adjusted each tire psi a couple pounds each with no problem. Only thing I noticed was the inflator ran just a tiny bit slower with the AVAPOW than when I used the car cig lighter. But its much easier using the AVAPOW for inflating tires because you don’t have to worry about moving around the cord from your car cig lighter thru the car door to each tire.

After testing this unit out, I will be getting another one for the wife’s car because this is a great product at a great price point.

IšverstiShow in original languageBased on my engineering background this best portable car/truck 12V Best Battery Jumper for money. Look for capacity, 27,800 mAh (milli Ampere hours) is one of the highest for this type of product.

This is 39% more Power than 20,000 mAh units. Do not buy a product that does not list mAh capacity. Jumper cable clamps are plastic, but looks strudy. Clamp teeth and cable wire are copper with good conductive EC5 connector to Lithium battery.

Should provide very low resistance to get maximum current (starting Amperes) to car battery. Have not had need to used product yet, but will write follow up review.

IšverstiShow in original languageI hoped this would work out and it did. A 40 year old Ford Probe was driven and warmed up and then cooled down in a blizzard with -30 windchill. The battery was still cranking the engine but couldn’t budge it out of a bound spot.

Five minutes and five double crank start attempts and it turned over. Been running excellent and recharging two months now. The battery came fully charged which is important when you don’t include an adapter to recharge it and are unfamiliar with it.

Battery uses a common 3V 15 amp adapter which is a cell phone standard, if you have a cell phone you have one already. The charge cord is included. I bought the 4K because I needed the hard kick.

IšverstiShow in original languageSo far so good. Charging the lithium battery doesn’t take long. It has held a charge for a few weeks. I have yet to use if for a dead automotive battery. Previous lead-acid batteries usually fail around the 2 year mark.

For the price paid, I feel like this one should last at least 4, which is where the real rating should take place.

This is a great portable battery and emergency jump starter. It charges quickly. Holds its charge for extended periods of time. We had it in our car when my sister needed her Cadillac jumped. Worked like a charm even though it had been weeks since we initially charged it.

Living in an area where there are very cold winters this will remain in my wife’s SUV in case she ever has a need for a jump. It is so simple to set up and connect that even she can do it herself.

The jumpstarer is has a excellent price and works great for starting my car and not taking up space in my trunk. The Tack 200 has a handy flashlight, but I will have to make it tacky because at times I need both hands free and the flashlight to not move.

Overall I is a excellent preduct.

I use this for commercial use since we sell 400 cars per month. They are awesome for us to 8 Cylinder gas vehicles. Works everytime no issues. Dont expect to use for higher motors 6. 7 L Diesels. Worth the money.

I have used many other brands, NOCO , GOOLOO etc. this one rocks!If using for Diesel use the GB150 NOCO brand.

This is an excellent piece of equipment. You can charge your cell phone, start your car when the battery is dead, use the flash light as a warning light, us it to run anything you would need a 12volt charger for and probably more things I’ve not discovered yet.

I only had one problem with the plastic handle clips. One came apart but I was able to put it back together. The hinge pinion is not long enough to prevent it from coming apart. My son the engineer fixed it.

An easy fix that should have been in the manufacturing process. Other than the price is about 20 more than other similar products. I guess I was willing to pay for brand name.

IšverstiShow in original languageBought this when my van was having issues and I wanted to be sure to not get stranded and for my occasional project car. This unit is relatively inexpensive for the class of product and works great.

More than enough cranking power even for an extremely dead battery in a car that had been sitting. The only negative is the charging port. This uses the standard type of USB mini connector but requires a 2A supply which is not included.

Most phone chargers and the like won’t want to be connected to this or will charge very slowly. That said, it holds a charge for a long time and stores more than enough power to get you going again.

I’ve used it literally dozens of times at work (security) to help people w/ dead batteries. I’ve used it on my own car, full-sized truck, and SUV. I’ve used it on flat out drained batteries – this very morning, actually – after I left my key turned forward as I was vacuuming its filthy floors yesterday evening, and forgot to retrieve the key when I came in.

Anyway, it’s been such an impressive tool that in retrospect, I wish I’d bought two. I’m sure it’s been replaced in some stores by its new model – but I would happily buy this one again. To people who are ‘On the fence’ about whether to buy such a device: While I can’t vouch for other units, I can for this particular brand/model: buy w/ confidence.

In our world, it’s nearly impossible to be over-prepared. Having such a tool w/ you in your vehicle can get you (quickly, too) out of a jam – even charge your dead/low cell phone. Worth ever penny, even at double the price.

IšverstiShow in original languageI saw many of these type devices from Chinese addresses on Ebay, but they were roughly the same price or more. I was also able to buy 2 years of insurance from Walmart for $3.

00. I figured that if it failed it would be easy to return to my local Walmart store rather than shipping something back to China at my expense. The EverStart contains an LED flashlight for emergencies, as well as a 5V 2 Amp USB charging port for tablets or phones.

The device overall is rated at 12,000 mah (milliamp hours) which equates to 12 Amp Hours. It is rated at 400 Amp peak current as a jump starter. It has 8 small LED indicator lights on the side to indicate state of charge from 25% to 100%.

When I received the unit it was 75% charged, so I plugged in its 110V charger which rapidly brought the charge level to 100%. I measured the open circuit voltage at the 12V terminals as 12. 56 V. Carefully following directions, I then used it to start my wife’s 250 cubic inch (about 4.

1 Liters) straight 6 cylinder 1967 Camaro with its battery disconnected. That insured that I was only starting from the new pack, without external assistance. The garage temperature was 65 degrees F.

This engine had not been started in a month and is known to be hard starting. It took 5 bursts of about 4-5 seconds per burst (each separated by 30 seconds, per instructions) to get the car started. This is what it normally takes with this car’s good battery, but I noticed that the EverStart pack cranked much more slowly, as if it were straining.

Nonetheless, it passed its first test – it did start the car. My guess is that if my test engine had been smaller or in better shape, or if the pack was just supplementing a weak car battery, the start would have been less strained.

But, if I had needed to start a large V8 or Diesel, or if it had been much colder, the pack might not have worked. I quickly turned off the engine, disconnected and examined the EverStart pack. The battery case was fairly cool, but the plug with which the clamp assembly plugs into the pack, as well as the adjacent approximately 1 inch of wire were very hot to the touch.

In fact, one of the plugs into the pack seemed to have semi-welded itself to its mating connection. I was able to pull them apart with some effort and noted carbonization on part of the copper connecting plug.

Overall this is indicative of insufficient wire size and/or connector capacity to handle the starting current. After the engine start, the LED indicator lights showed 75% capacity remaining and I measured the open circuit voltage as11.

86 V. The next day, without recharging the unit, I used the pack’s USB port to recharge my Samsung Note 3 cellphone that I had deliberately run down to 19% capacity. (The EverStart’s open circuit voltage was 11.

87V, and its USB output under load was 5 V while the phone was on and charging at an initial 1. 1 Amps. ) My Note 3 was 100% recharged within 2 1/4 hours, withdrawing about 2. 1 Amp Hours at 5V from the EverStart pack.

The pack displayed 5 of its 8 indicator lights at the conclusion of this charge and measured 5V at its USB port and 11. 44 V at its 12V port. My overall impression is that the pack gets passing (but not great) marks since it did start a tough engine and recharge a cellphone thereafter.

The battery itself seems very potent, but the heat and carbonization on the connector indicate that this powerful battery is mated to a marginal connection system for the jump starter. It loses points for that.

The unit is very versatile and compact, at a reasonable price, so I think I will keep it. But, I wish they had used thicker wires and a better connector for the jump starter function.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this in January of 2016 and straight out of the box it had 1 blue LED which indicates it’s charged enough for at least one jump. I plugged it in and in less than 2 hours it had 100% charge.

I put it in it’s handy case which is divided and stores the unit itself plus the connector cable with the clamp ends. The first time I used it was to charge my smartphone several times and it only lost one blue LED on the charge indicator after probably four or five full charges.

Then I used it to jump start a small 4 cylinder car which the battery was only reading 10. 5V and it fired right up with no problem. Then I used it to start my 6 cylinder 2000 Buick Century and with a completely dead battery it started right up.

Had to charge my phone a few more times. Today, 4 months later, I pressed the charge indicator button and it still showed one blue LED. I used it to jump start a motorcycle and charge my phone one more time and checked the indicator again and it still showed one blue light.

I charged it again after that and it only took about an hour to get back up to full charge. Tonight I used it to jump start an older V8 Ford and it fired right up. After jumping the Ford it showed 3 blue LEDs and then an hour later it showed 4 blue LEDs again.

So like I’ve used it for about 8 phone charges, 4 jumpstarts, about two or three hours worth of flashlight, and that was all on its first charge. It’s on its second charge now and working great and if yall want, I can update yall on how well it performs in the future.

I was at buying it for a while, and when I heard it jumped an electric company work truck and wants 5 of them fly off the shelf in about an hour, I bought mine, the last one in the store. Anyways. Yall should get one.
