Used it on my discovery 2 td5 and allowed access to everything i needed. Air suspension set up, brake bleed, key and pilp programming plus alot more. Diagnostic and reset in every computer. Also tested on a disco 3 tdv6 to diagnose an air suspension fault.

Recently tried on a defender td5. Not many ECU’s to connect to but allowed engine and abs fault, live data and test functionality. working great and no issues connecting or adjusting anything I’ve tried.

Certainly better than i expected when i took a chance.

Cannot say enough about this little gem that helps me keep my 2006 330i sedan running top notch! It even registered a new battery with new cca requirement settings and coding for a new/used blinker/cruise control assembly that I had to install behind the steering wheel.

I use it with my 2013 i3 BEV BMW. Made a firmware update at the first time with USB. It was simple. I have an airbag issue. It can tell the right issue decription. Unfortunately my car has a resistor problem in the SRS (airbag) so I have to change it.

ISTA+ can only tell SRS fault, nothing else.

I had several problems with my Mercedes and the garage (a national chain) spent several hours with the car and finally pronounced it to have more problems than it actually did. The cost of all the repairs was not calculated but was going to be substantial and open ended from the discussion I had with them.

The car had gone into limp mode so it was struggling quiet badly with no turbo, the temptation was to say just get on with it, but thankfully I decided to order this diagnostic machine because I wasn’t happy with the diagnosis I was given! The tool arrived much faster than anticipated and I had it connected to the car within a few minutes of arrival, I was astonished how simple this was to do, just spend a little time to identify the exact car model – this bit is very important, I don’t think the garage had correctly identified the car and this may be why they misinterpreted the data? The main problem was a disconnected pipe to a sensor on the DPF, the car was fixed literally in under a minute, no more limp mode! The repair could have easily cost several times the cost of this diagnostic tool and I would have been no wiser, so as the title implies this is an invaluable tool which could pay for itself many times over.

Having had this tool for a couple of weeks now, I findit fascinating how much information can be gleaned from it about the fitness of your vehicle, I cannot recommend this tool enough, buy one.

I could not determine if this item was a genuine iCarsoft product, or a Chinese knockoff. The iCarsoft name did not carry the trademark designation on any of the contents including the user manual. The user manual was so poorly written I didn’t think it could have been done by a legitimate company.

It seemed a bit strange in its use, and the constant beeping every time a key was pressed was terrible. Since I could not trust the unit as a genuine product, I could not use on vehicles in which I had a large investment.

All information on-line showed the trademark on the product and it’s accessories.

Bought it for my Mercedes Benz W212 250cdi 2011 for DPF filter forced regeneration. I was assured the tool will work. The scanner came with the latest software version already installed. After connection I was able to read all of the error codes and clear them out (just one in my case) and read life data as well.

However the package says ‘reading error’ when DPF forced regeneration initiated after reading the never ending list of disclaimers. Another downside is that forced regeneration is for driving mode only (maybe it will continue whilst the vehicle is stationary but I didn’t have a chance to test it).

The English language is horrible you really don’t know when the engine should be running or the key should be just in the first or second turned on position. Xentry is much more clear from the nomenclature perspective.

Am I happy. no. It didn’t solve my problem.

Bought this to check out used vehicles I was looking at. Tried it out on my 99′ Durango to see what it could do. Diagnosed a transmission problem, not upshifting at correct RPM, in about five minutes.

It was a bad output shaft speed sensor. The sensor retails for $20. A lot cheaper to buy this tool and a sensor that takes five minutes to replace than going to a shop and being told they would have to pull the transmision just to check it out.

This tools app is FREE and allows you to use it on just about any car sold in North America since 1996. The diagnostic parts of the app not only shows the trouble code but includes a list of potential causes and remedies.

The list of causes is also user supported in that if you come up with a fix that isn’t listed you can submit your cure to the app and it may then be the next update. This tool has a ton of features for the money.

Some features I can’t use on my older Dodge because the old software on its ECM just doesn’t have the capacity. On my 06 4runner this thing shows a lot more potential for monitoring what is going on.

Does need android 5. 0 or newer or an apple device to work.

So, long and short of it, this connector plugs into the OBDII port of most modern vehicles from the late 90’s forward in order to access trouble codes, freeze-frame data, Mode6 data, Smog Check readiness data, etc.

In order to access the info, you need to install a free app on your iOS or Android phone or tablet (with Bluetooth support/hardware). From there you can sync up the connector with your phone / tablet, and pull data out of your car’s computer / engine.

the amount of live data you can pull out depends a bit on your car’s model and year, and whether or not they have implemented full support for your particular model/year (some brands / models are harder to get OBDII model-specific data/specs on from manufacturers, apparently).

But they seem to have pretty good support across many brands / models / years and are constantly adding more / better support as they get more info from manufacturers, etc. Their tech support (phone & e-mail) seems quite responsive.

they seem happy to assist as far as they can in helping with initial setup, and even with helping try to diagnose issues or at least sometimes look up the OBDII codes or look for technical bulletins relating to some specific problem or trouble code [/ combination of codes].

It’s pretty cool that the app will look up”common problems” related to specific codes. While not definitive, they can be useful in narrowing down the list of possible issues or give a direction in which to look (which systems are implicated, possible things that could contribute, etc.

). It the tool perfect? Perhaps not. But they continue to improve it, are quite open/receptive to customer feedback / suggestions, feature requests, etc. While things may not get fixed or implemented immediately, they certainly seem to want to please their customers and help with any issues they encounter.

Overall, I’ve found it reasonably useful as a code scanner and informational device, as a novice. It’s perhaps not “professional grade. ” But, for the price, it certainly seems relatively capable and serves its role.

I really love this reader. Ive been able to log data and chart it to see patterns and better still was what it showed me today. Id taken my Tacoma to the dealership on Sep 8 to check on an engine light (I didnt have this yet) and they thought it was an issue with the transmission but said the light went off.

The truck also ended up getting a brand new frame because of a recall but I got it back 2 days ago 11/7 with no lights that day or all day yesterday. Thought they were hinting that the transmission may need to be replaced.

Great! This afternoon the light came on again. Id been logging some info so turned on the BlueDriver app to check it. The code thats being thrown is P0705 most likely a TCR sensor or Park/Neutral Switch that needs cleaning.

If I hadnt had this I may have ended up being duped into replacing the entire transmission which still probably wouldnt have fixed the problem. So although Im speculating and doing what-ifs. Im happy at the thought that this $99 device probably saved me over $3000! Excellent products and great app!.

I purchased this item, thinking. hoping, that if I watched enough you tube videos and enough comments and reviews here, that I could use my engineering education to make it work. It is assembled well, the poles are straight and without warp.

The dies of each size are cast well and fit into their respective rubber bands. BUT. Turns out, it ruined two sets of Sealed Power 1404M cam bearings for my Mark IV BBC. After damaging the first bearing, I used the second package of cam bearings to start over.

No matter what, the die segments spread out and make an imprint that damages the face of the bearing whether I installed it tight, or loose onto the die. I went for broke, kept trying to at least install a few for the experience.

We were able to get in 3 out of the 10 bearings that were a usable success. I don’t know if I can return the tool. But now I know to tell others to maybe choose another.

The previous reviews are 1 star because they tried it for one vehicle that didn’t work. If you have TRADITIONAL calipers with brackets that separate from the caliper AND the piston is press-in, this tool is great.

Not all brakes are created equally – just like every other vehicle. There’s a correct tool for the correct job. Any professional will have 3 variations of this tool and DIY’ers should figure out what will work for you 1 single vehicle.

Remember, oil changes aren’t the same on every vehicle and neither is brakes. (Yes, oil changes really require different procedures, tools, and parts on different makes and models, if you were questioning that).

This can be of great assistance when removing or installing a serpentine belt by relieving the spring tension on the belt tensioner. The long piece has a 3/8″ square fitting on the end to use with the included sockets, crows feet, or attaching the segment with the 1/2″ square adapter.

This long piece has the potential for a lot of leverage IF you have the space to take advantage of it. My Dad’s vehicle does not due to various hoses and pipes getting in the way from both the top and the bottom of the engine compartment.

My suggestions to the manufacturer is: First make the long handle shorter (with an add-on extension) for tighter spaces. Second, include shallower sockets. It is a nice tool for the price and may work well for many different vehicles (I believe the 1/2″ square would work on the belt tensioner of my Grand Caravan).

Unfortunately, it did not work on my Dad’s vehicle. I think a long-handled 13mm wrench would have worked better in this instance. Again, this is a nice tool at a good price. However, first check your belt tensioner to see if you have the clearance to actually use this.

I was very impressed with how many systems I could scan with the 5410 tool and mostly how easy it was to get connected and get details. The live metrics feature is also extremely helpful to monitor critical systems on a test drive to confirm repairs are working as expected.

Clearing codes is also extremely easy. The bluetooth connection allows a full report to be generated on a phone or tablet, perfect for looking through outside of the car to further diagnose any issues or identify service recommendations.

Only drawbacks are what a few other reviewers have noted – the unit can lag at times with the buttons not being immediately responsive but it clears up after a few seconds. Also, the app is good but not yet great and hopefully will continue to be updated as there’s a lot of potential for it! Note: I received this unit for free as part of a product testing program.

Whether you’re a professional, work in a garage, or just a DIY mechanic, this tool is a seriously valuable one to have. Would highly recommend it to anyone who likes to take a hands on approach to vehicle care.

If you think in anyway that you could benefit from the Innova OBD2, then by all means, I encourage you to get one. Firstly, almost anyone can work the thing. It’s almost as simple as plug and play. Was able to correct a few aggravating dashboard lights on both of my vehicles, and since I’ve had the Innova OBD2 I’ve been able to stay ontop of everything.

Very impressed and glad to have one.

I am somebody who likes to be hands-on and be able to do stuff on my own and this follows me as it relates to taking care of my care. I have seen this kind of scanner be used by specialists to diagnose problems related to the vehicle.

I got this because cars can products are the ones that are widely used in the industry by DIYers and specialists and mechanics. I was very pleasantly surprised as it was really easy to setup and connect to my car and was able to get started real quickly as opposed to wasting time setting this up.

The app also helps a lot with tracking as well as diagnosing issues and getting in front of them. It is somewhat of an investment but for example, for me, I was able to find a problem that I needed to take care of right away as opposed to waiting for a disaster to happen.

The tool works, no doubt about it. Can connect to it and everything, but it does not want to connect to my ECU. I’ve used every troubleshooting method suggested on the booklet. I now cannot get any contact details of the supplier to message them about this.

My vehicle is a 2006 BMW e60 530i, which is meant to be OBD2 compatible.

This is a great little gadget. I was able to identify the problem, fix it, and now my check engine is off. The app claims that this is not a professional level device but it works perfectly for me.

I purchased this tool to help me diagnose both of my vehicles when the check engine light turned on. The tool itself is fantastic and is very intuitive to use. However the associated app for the iPhone/Android is as good as useless, slow, clunky has no real use case and attempts to make recommendations of what will fail in the future for your vehicle.

Another thing to take into account when purchasing this product is the updates on the internet – this tool has a USB on the bottom that can be connected to a windows computer and using Innova’s desktop application can be updated anytime to get the latest vehicle support software.

This is leaps and bounds ahead of other similar products. Outside of the App related issues, this tool is absolutely my go-to.

Looked for OBD2 tester online at CTC site web. Found 3100RS on sale. I read all reviews. They stated nicely connected to Android phone. Went to store. Asked clerk about unit since it showed 3100J on pacjage and same store product code.

Kid says same as advertised since store product codes matched. Tried unit out. Would not pickup my car’s Vin number (Lexus 2003) as well would not connect with phone. Called help desk in Cali. Guy tells me the J model will not connect to phone as is not the RS model.

I tell him CTC sold it to me as RS model. He says I know your not the first! Brought back the unit told CTC about false ad and got my refund.

Updating the firmware borked the catalog. So I returned and got another one. Same thing happened. All within the span of about an hour. I called Innova support and they were completely flummoxed. I did my part, I reported the issue.

I ended up just getting a very cheapo generic wireless ELM327 OBD II reader from the biggest online retailer in the world. With that, your choice of cheap iOS app to drive it and guess what? No more issues and much better software.

This is an antiquated product. do your research. It works, but there’s better.

I’m not easily impressed but this product is amazing! It has surpassed my expectations by a long shot. I’ve bought expensive scan tools before that do about the same read/erase codes, show live data and so on but especially for the price on this ELM 327 I wasn’t expecting much out of it and to my surprise this Bluetooth OBDII scanner is just as great as “better” higher end scanners in the $100+ range actually I believe even better for it performs same if not better plus it’s Bluetooth so no more dangerous maneuvers trying to read scanner while driving plus I especially loved how you could customize and add gauges, dials and graphs to monitor or read live sensor data! Thank you I absolutely love it and received faster than expected too even with holidays! Thanks again very happy!.

I have 2 bmws. This device does not connect to my 2004. It does connect to my 2014 but the data is indicates as n/a or is bogus. For instance, the coolant temp is negative 47 Celsius. I live in Florida!!!! Thats impossible! I had such high hopes that this device would provide useful diagnostics.

Perhaps on other vehicles but not on my bmws.

I bought a ds708 several years ago and upgraded to a maxisyselite but I needed an extra scanner for my guys and seen some reviews on the 808 being better than the 708 but I quess it is the ds808 so don’t think this is an upgrade because it has no special functions for hardly anything.

It is a good computer for reading information , reading graphs on engine data , but hardly anything on abs , air bags , etc. ,and for the price I give it 3 stars.

I have been having nothing but problems since I bought my car October, 2020. By the way it has acted, has determined what my male family members have thought was wrong with it, and parts were purchased accordingly.

This wonderful diagnostic tool found 11 things wrong with my car, and when new parts were purchased as suggested, these problems have cleared up. I love this tool!!!.

It’s a great inexpensive way to troubleshoot your car and/or reset the Maintenence light if necessary. Small enough for the glove box for whenever you need it.

I received this code reader as part of a promo in exchange for my review. The packaged arrived and looked sharp, taking the reader from the box it feels fairly light weight, though not flimsy. The instructions provided are a single 8×11 sheet without a single word of instruction, just 8 images and a few links to the phone app and a URL to the full manual.

I think taking the time to put a few sentences below each image would make first time use a little easier. I have used code readers prior to read and clear codes, but I was excited to have the vehicle report functionality.

I will say that I did not have a code on either my vehicles during the testing of this product and am not sound enough on vehicle repair to force a code, but I imagine it will clear the codes just fine.

The device came up when the car was put into Aux, Bluetooth connected without issue and I could see the status on the reader’s LED. My phone, a Samsung Galaxy S9+, “downloaded” the data, and then got stuck on “generating report.

” I allowed it to sit for ~10 minutes before I killed the app and tried a second and third time. I can see the app’s report history that the reports are there, but when I try and open any of them, they just get stuck saying generating report.

Wondering if it was an issue with my 2014 Civic, I moved to our 2017 Tucson and experienced the exact same behavior. I have reached out to support, but have not heard back at this time.

Full disclosure: I received this unit free for testing. After I received my code reader, I plugged it into my 2015 Jeep. It took a minute before it beeped and told me there were no codes to read. At least, I assume that’s what it meant.

I did have a TPMS light on, but apparently this version of this device doesn’t read those. Other than the automatic read when it’s plugged in, there are 4 buttons on the device. However, I don’t have any idea what they do.

There’s no manual inside the box. There’s a few pictograms instructing you to download an app and connect it, though it doesn’t explain how. There’s also apparently a web link to download the manual, which I haven’t done.

There may be better instructions there, but I don’t know. Overall, the device does appear to read codes, but that’s about it. I would recommend looking at one of the other versions that has additional features.

I was provided this device to review, and as an avid car far, I love it. I have 3 cars and this couldn’t have been perfect timing. I sold a vehicle and used this prior to the dealership doing the same.

Several days later I had to use it for a $75,000 car I JUST bought that threw a random code due to performance upgrades. Without this I would have felt so much more uneasy about the check engineer light I was able to easily diagnose and clear.

My only complaint was that sometimes the Bluetooth connection takes awhile or times out. The instructions state you shouldn’t have the car on, but frankly it works better with the car on. Even if a loading indication was presented that gave the current progress of the report upload, I would at least know how long I had to wait.

With no progress indication and a spinning icon it’s easy to get frustrated and wonder what is taking so long. I did also receive a few errors saying my report failed to upload but right afterwards it said I could view it.

First off I received this as a free sample in exchange for an honest review. Compared to previous adapter styles I’ve used this one is smaller and doesn’t stick out as far. Also, this one does have its own software as the others I own had to download and pay for the full use.

Connectivity is quick as long as you keep your bluetooth on otherwise you add the step of turning that on from your phone. I had an airbag light pop on in my SUV and figured it was the best time to put it to work.

It went through everything and found there was an open in the circuit and was a hard fault after trying to reset it. Luckily it is still under warranty and the SUV part is getting replaced for free. I like how it got straight to the point with the diagnostics and also let me know that my key fob battery was low and to replace it.

There is a live data view but with everything running smooth due to a newer vehicle there wasn’t much use for me to use as a diagnostic if I were to have an oil pressure issue or something along those lines.

It is a nice tool to have in your glovebox that doesn’t take up a lot of space and can help you diagnose issues while on the go or stuck on the side of the road and would buy it for that peace of mind.

I’d recommend this for anyone that has a basic understanding of how it works but doesn’t want to spend too much on more advanced pieces of equipment.

The very first OBD2 Scan Tool I used was back in 2002 (Snap-On Red Brick), and it cost $5,000 USD. It’s amazing to me how basic Scanners can cost as low as $25. For that price, it might be a good idea to carry one in the glovebox of every car you own, kinda like how we use to carry a “Rand McNally” in there.

The scanner arrived in a very timely fashion and was well packaged to avoid the damage that occurs sometimes during shipping. I put it to good use right away, which I may add was very easy!! I am not experienced in using OBD Scanners, but this one made me feel as though I was.

The box is low profile and the unit goes back into it with ease as well. It stores in the glove box very easily and mine will come in handy again and again. I definitely recommend getting one for yourself, and it would also make an excellent xmas gift.

Its a fairly good scanner but it cost too much to upgrade the software annually, which is ridiculous. Nobody who buy this tool will be working on all the vehicles it can use on so the software should be able to be upgrade in sections, for e.

g. European , North America, Asian & so on. Why should the manufacturer force us to pay to upgrade vehicles that we are not going to repair ? Thats dishonest.

Impressed with this scanner for the price range. Seems to be made durable and can handle some bumping around in a shop area working. Simple menus to follow. Does regular check engine scans on all vehicles then can do specialty scans on specific vehicles with additional purchased downloads.

It is powered by obd port so doesnt need battery. Can also power by usb cord on computer for downloads and saving scans. Comes with nice case also.

Using this for my 2005 Jeep Liberty 2. 8L CRD. Seems to be working without any issues for all of the generic OBDII features of my car. I can get information from my vehicle while it’s running and also in just the on-state.

I was an early adopter to the x431 scanners back in the mid/late 2000s and was thoroughly displeased with the product back then. In addition to over promising access/function, it was bulky, slow, error prone, and just generally a terrible way to spend $3000+ (let alone twice, I had bought a later gen one around 2010 or so as well).

Suffice to say I was extremely hesitant to give them another chance, but given how fast everything-tech has improved over the past 10-15 years, the new lower price point as well as portability of this unit pressured me into trying again.

I must say this is a very different animal than the early units. Obviously the color touchscreen is a huge improvement as is the smaller size, but also the speed is great. If you leave it off when not in use, it takes only about thirty seconds to be ready to work.

Moving between menus is very snappy, with only substantial delays when selecting a different manufacturer (the Bluetooth modules has to reconfigure) or when accessing inherently slow systems of course.

Functionality is better than before, though they still do over-promise things. Don’t expect to program keys on most vehicles even though they claim to. Most will use external (vci based) encryption which makes anything the scan tool clones irrelevant sincethe encryption isn’t there.

A plus side however is that while in the older systems it would just say it was successful regardless (as it just completed the cloned action anyway with no regard for output), ones I have tried out of curiosity have all given some error of sorts indicating it would not be possible to complete our is not fully supported etc.

While a minor thing on its face, this is actually a huge plus in that you don’t spend a ton of time trying to figure out if the problem was the key, an ecu/module, the scan tool or just user error. You know right out of the gate it isn’t going to work so no need trying to over-diagnose the situation.

So far access has been exceptionally thorough, being able to customize bcm/etacs functions on 2020 infiniti models for example with no problem. Even though there are a massive amount of manufacturers from foreign markets, there are still holes in the north american market support.

One would have to go brand by brand, but right off the bat I noticed the is no Nissan Rogue at all it seems, and the entire Hummer brand is also missing (including no listing for those models under Chevrolet or GMC, nor compatible vehicle access like Yukon etc).

So while still very far from ideal or perfection, at the current price point this is reallya no brainier. Very thorough access to many many vehicles at a sub-1k price tag. Even if as a secondary unit, it’s a great addition to the tool box and doesn’t take up much space.

This has all but replaced my 12k Verus if it weren’t for the lack of a lab scope.

I have downloaded all the vehicles updates. You don’t have to do all, but they do stay highlighted in the Update menu. That would be my one gripe is to enable selecting and deselecting what you want to have on the device and have it remain hidden until you select that you want it on from a separate menu.

Also would have been nice to have the ability to add memory from a SD card. But for me the 32 Gig is plenty as even with all the downloading and updating I have plenty of memory. I have used on 5 vehicles so far and it has done well.

I bought to be able to write Vin and reset an immobilizer if needed after a ECM change in a 2004 Toyota, but it turned out to be not needed. I then ran tests on my sons 2016 Toyota Sienna Van and it came up with 3 unknown issues.

So already I like this items ability to see deeper than a standard scanner. The issues shown to us were history items that were no longer an issue, but nice to know about as van was bought used. I like all this item is capable of doing for its price.

The touch screen is large enough even for me at 70 years old and is responsive once you figure out where its sweet spots are for the upper left back arrow. I am getting a screen protector to put on it as I know how dirty us mechanics hands get and figure I better protect it.

Most of the add in connector adapters I will probably never use, but I am glad to have them just in case. It is a little hard getting the Android software to allow you to hook up to a printer other than the one from this company which it wants you to buy.

but I figured out how to download files like I do from my phone or just simply email it to me and print it out on my home printer. If you can afford a bit more money for an item (usually about $150) I would buy the larger scanner X431 V Pro 4.

0 as it is easier to do all the above items I find bad on this one. But for me this is good as I am on a limited budget for my home use.

Works great. Diagnosed my son’s Volvo perfectly. Very intuitive to set up and use. You need to download it on a device with a lot of memory as it come with manufacturer’s data from every car maker in the world.

Being new to me, this device is helpful. There is so much more that this device is capable of than are my mechanical talents. It will take time for me to understand and implement the features of this unit, but in the meantime, it is useful for pointing to specific components that are likely the issue causing the problem.

I bought it mainly to determine why my check engine light would illuminate and to repair or replace the issue causing the problem. After reading the owner’s manual, I can see that this tool has much greater capacity to delve deeper into the mechanical issues of my older, high mileage vehicles.

I’m not under the illusion that this is a magical device that will save me big bucks without much thought and effort going in to the diagnosis, but it does offer great clues and information that at least gives me a starting point from which to search.

It does reset the check engine light and it did help me to get my daughter’s 2006 Chrysler T&C through the emissions requirement in Arizona. I tend to buy and keep my cars and trucks for a very long time.

Lots of things eventually go wrong with these vehicles and without my efforts in my own garage, these cars would have to be scrapped. Between YouTube videos and this device, I can keep my cars moving well beyond the 300,000 mile range without a dealer’s input or a $120+/hour professional mechanic.

With the aforementioned tools, you’ll be amazed at what you can do.

I reviewed this a few days ago and gave it two stars but it never showed up, all of my 5 star reviews however showed up nearly instantly. That’s certainly a hmmmm moment and knocks another star off, maybe I’ll have to post on facebook instead.

Despite this saying it supports TPMS it told me that it didn’t support it for my vehicle when I used it, not exactly helpful since that was my main reason for purchasing. Then it promptly locked up requiring getting that jewelers screwdriver to remove the battery cover and remove the batteries.

I explained this to the clerk when returning and his first response was did I use it, not exactly a good listener apparently. When I replied yes he said I could upgrade to the next model or pay a restocking fee.

I understand the idea behind a restock fee to deter people from buying to use for the moment and returning but apparently doesn’t take into account any negatives experiences you may incur. The next model is way more money than I want to spend for my limited use and no guarantee that it will support my vehicle either.

I took the restock and will buy another model elsewhere. That infamous online retailer has many models to choose from with comparable prices that don’t have a restock fee and has free returns.

I have two vehicles, a 2017 and a 2018 that are getting into the mileage range where things start to go wrong. At my last visit to the dealership I saw them charge a lady $135 labor to scan and clear a trouble code and tell her she needed a new gas cap.

I had a Cent-Tech scanner for about five years and from time to time I’d hook it up just to see that everything was in good order. It saved two friends a service call, one for a leaking gas cap that wouldn’t pass smog which he replaced for about $10 and a neighbor who needed a new exhaust sensor.

Last year when I needed it was out of date for my truck and I discovered they no longer updated it. I threw it out. If you’re old enough to remember this, Sears used to do the same thing with some of their plumbing products and when the customer needed a part that forced them to replace it.

I suspected the worst, but I needed a scanner and this one fit the bill. I’ve only used two brands, Bosch in the industry and Harbor Freight’s at home. I bought this one, but it’s not as user friendly as the one I had and if you buy it I suggest you buy the two year extended warranty that makes it good, if it’s updatable, for 2 years and 90 days.

I was hesitant to purchase this product but not anymore. It is NOT just another ODB scanner. It does so much more. I have access to all modules within the car. I can even program new key FOBs. A *must have* for any DIY tinkerer.

If you want information about why your BMW or another vehicle is telling you that there is a problem. This is a must. Diagnostic codes and resets all covered. Costs less than getting the answer from a service centre.

What a great scanner ! I was quoted a couple of hundred $$ to fix my ABS unit and get rid of the error codes on my BMW (DBC DBS Start Assist error) – Bought this scanner for a third of the price quoted by the mechanics and was able to diagnose a problem with my brake light switch.

replaced the switch for $60 and fixed all issues thanks to this great tool. This is the kind of thing you buy just to realise you should have bought it earlier – This particular NT510 let you reprogram a couple of things in the car as well as services and component testing I COULD NOT BE HAPPIER !! Excellent home mechanic OBD scanner, impressed with ease of operation and useful data recovery. The free accompanying app is also an excellent reference guide. I purchased it specifically for the OBD1 function.

Install the 3 AA batteries, not included , for the OBD1 scanning function as some vintage vehicles do not have power to to the port. It will scan most OBD2 vehicles without the batteries installed. Scanned my 1995 Impala SS, 5.

7 L which the manual and tech help said it is not compatible with. If you select the GM vehicle as a 1992 and NOT 1995 and Vin letter P it will link and give you accurate code retrieval. I used the OBD2 function on several vehicles and code retrieval was accurate when compared to the dealer scans.

Pleased with the scanner and a good purchase when on sale.

I received this product as part of a free sample program. It didn’t take long before it came in handy. My brother’s truck was having issues so we hooked up the scanner and found out the code issue. A quick google search said it could either be a huge costly issue or a simple sensor replacement.

He replaced the sensor and everything was fine. Even if you aren’t handy enough to make the repairs yourself, by determining the codes yourself you can relay that information to your mechanic to avoid having them charge you for unnecessary diagnostics or repair work.

We will be using this to pinpoint issues on our entire family’s vehicles and saving us a lot of time and unnecessary mechanic’s bills!.

Perfect installation without PAIRING the Iphone 7, (this is a specific functionality of BT 4. 0 Low energy specs). ODB Fusion woks well with it. I am using the interface on a Toyota Auris Hybrid for italian market.

I have leaving the product installed also for days and due to the low energy profile I didn’t see any abnormal energy consumption on the battery of my car. The only concern is that the device also with the car poweroff remains with the light red and is visibile from outside the car.

This thing needed no installation what so ever. Just worked with LeafSpy on the fly! It’s supposed to work over Bluetooth, but I couldn’t get it connected. Turns out; It already was connected to my LeafSpy app.

Only hurdle was getting it physically connected in the car. Needed to use a flat screwdriver to get a small panel out below the steering wheel left side (European/Norwegian Leaf). All-in-all; Pretty satisfied!.

It worked well with LeafSpy Pro to monitor my 2012 LEAF. I did need to find the correct setting in the program as it was the first such device that didn’t require pairing. I was replacing a Konwei 902 which worked but took some effort to get it to connect to my android phone every time I wanted to use it.

With the LELink I just need to start the app on my phone.

Just a code reader? No way! Live data, calibration ID, and mode6 data are some of the pleasantly unexpected features. It is perfect for quickly pulling codes, then looking at some preliminary live data to give you a diagnostic direction.

Fixed the car? Plug it in and run the monitors to verify your repair! Small enough to fit in my backpack pocket for quick diagnostic decisions. Bright lit screen means I can easily read it in some of those poorly lit shops.

Im impressed. Great code scanner. I can not believe how simple this is to use. Especially considering all the data you can retrieve. DTC and Live. Autel has most definitely engineered this code scanner with the diy mechanic in mind.

I have used several other readers including the bluetooth scanners and this by far is the easiest to use and that is important when you are already stressed out about the check engine light being on you dont need another headache using your scanner.

I truly love this tool. Easy as connecting the scanner FIRST then turning on your ignition SECOND. If you dont turn on the car (not starting it yet) you will get a Link error other then that it is plug and play.

If you have used a blue tooth scanner and spent 20 minutes trying to connect you will appreciate this tool as much as i do. with the ignition on you can read your codes with a push of a button. starting your car will give you a crazy amount of live data.

mass air flow, rpms, coolant temp, spark advance short and long FT % on and on. To top it off a simple press of the I?M button gets you ready for state emissions testing with red/green and yellow symbols showing issues.

This is the only scanner I own that works 100% with my 2005 BMW z4. Honestly I am blown away with this scanner. You could spend hundreds more and not do any better then this. Highly recommended!.

We have 2 BMWs in the household. Relief to be able to identify the source of those annoying dash warning lights. Found it very useful to distinguish between serious and less urgent faults. (one needs to check the meaning of the error codes in the internet).

Often it is worth it to erase the fault code – i. e. warning light goes off- and see if the fault returns. If so, one better carry out the repair. Good value, one step up are the professional code readers that handle all makes.

I purchased this for use on my Mini Cooper. I had a cheap reader but that didn’t reset the airbag. You have to scroll through quite a few menus to find the particular area of the cars cars memory you wish to access.

But ultimately a really useful tool. It can be updated online and covers loads of BMW cars as well as gen 1 and gen 2 Mini’s. At 80 its not cheap, cheap but it does a lot that units costing 4 or 5 times as much can do.

I fitted some new subs to my 2011 F11 530d touring. Part of the install means removing the seats. As soon as I unplugged the connector I got a “driver restraint system” warning. I knew nothing was technically wrong, it just doesn’t like being unplugged and needed a fault code clearing.

Rang my local main dealer – 80 an hour to “see what’s wrong”. Decided to buy this instead (for less). Arrived in no time, plugged in and fault cleared inside a minute. Perfect.
