20 Best Oil For Baseball Glove (2022 Updated)

My son’s glove broke so we had to get another at the very beginning of a season. I didn’t want to have to do that because I was scared it wouldn’t be broken in. A friend recommended this oil and I used a lot of it immediately after using it and have coated the glove several times.

It seems to work great and breaking in the glove QUICKLY!.

Works great but you definitely need to use a cloth of some sorts. If you pour directly on the glove it will leave a darker mark. I don’t want to call it a stain as it may seep in and go away. It helped soften the stiffness in the thumb and wrist area as well as clean the glove.

I purchased this product to use on my son’s new baseball glove. I had the glove steamed at Dicks. Nice light oil for glove. Helps break in procedure and protects leather nicely.

Honestly the best give conditioner I have ever had. I have a $500 Rawlings pro preferred and it is the only thing I will ever put on my glove. I have used to for four seasons and you can hardly tell because this stuff keeps it in such good shape.

It is perfect for lifting dirt off of my glove and keeping it looking perfect. I am taking the time to upload pictures because its that good. I don’t always find good products, but when I do I make sure other people know it.

if you have a glove that you care about BUY THIS PRODUCT. If you get anything else off of this website get this. Granted I take very good care of my glove (no rain, no tossing it, no left in the car, no throwing it when mad).

When viewing the pictures keep in mind this has been through 4 seasons and I contribute 90% of how it looks to the glove conditioner.

Unlike other products made from animal fats ,this product has no enzymes that start the rotting processe all over agein after the leather has been tanned. It repells moisture in high humidity and light sprinkles of rain.

It keeps the leather supple with out over softening it or soaking into the padding and making the glove heavy. It pulls dirt out of the pours of the leather to keep it clean to. A pea size dap treats a whole mitt.

Over use it and the fix is simple clean new cat litter will draw out any excess making the glove lighter. It dose not discolor leather if you rub it in with a small cloth. Do not apply a glob directly to the mitt , apply it evenly and you’ll be just fine.

This pretty good stuff! I used more than was probably recommended on a glove and had to let it soak in for a couple of days! It softens the leather as well as preserves it! I would recommend this conditioner! But you might want to use it more sparingly than I did!.

It seems to work well and be a good value. The one thing I am disappointed about is the bottle is not a trigger spray type as shown; actually it is a press spray type.

The spray bottle works great. Applies g-oil evenly. Keeps glove from drying-out. Because of the constant use & sweat,it doesn’t let glove crack in the high sweat areas. Just a lite spray after a lite wipe-down keeps glove color rich too.

I bought this mink oil for my son’s Wilson A1000. I wanted something light weight to protect the leather from sweat, oil and rain. The mink oil adds a layer of protection and safe guards his glove. A thin coating works well and does not weigh the glove down.

I also used it to help break in the glove naturally. There are businesses that will offer a ” steaming ” of a new glove to break in the leather. I recommend just playing catch with it, using mink oil and a glove mallet to create the pocket.

This oil is great and you won’t be sorry.

I have been breaking in gloves for many a year. This product is the best I have come across for conditioning, preserving, or breaking in a mitt. A little dab will do ya. One hockey puck size container will condition a whole glove like 8 times.

Maybe more depending on your method. Easy to use. I put on a pair of rubber exam gloves to rub in.

Seems good. Definitely doesn’t stink and doesn’t feel to gross on my hands. I’ve heard good things about this conditioner and so far it seems to be helping my glove come back to life. Might update down the road.

Well, I like the product but only have one complaint. My glove has a sticky sound to it after one application; even after removing the excess. Maybe after a little wear it will go away. But on the plus side, it brought back some color (dark brown) and some suppleness to my old trusty glove that has been my friend for over 30 years.

Yes, that’s right, 30 years! I would say the product works as intended. I will warn not to put too much on the lacing. I had to retie everything as it really relaxed the stitching (but maybe this would be great for breaking in a new glove).

If Hot Glove makes it, it is a great product. I have used their products for 3 years to break in gloves and keep my teams catchers mitts conditioned. This is no different. Just a simple wipe down of the mitt and let it dry.

This makes breaking in a new glove SUPER easy. Stretch and work the leather like you normally would. Then apply a light coat of the oil, put the oversized ball where you like the pocket, and wrap. Repeat these steps 2 or 3 more times, and you’re done.

Theres also the added bonus that you can keep putting that oversize ball in, and wrapping it, when ever you’re not using the glove. So the glove’s leather will never settle. It will always keep that nice pocket shape, and you’ll get way more life out of your glove! For the price, it’s a steal!.

In my 40+ years of living, I have only oiled 2 or 3 gloves. Some say that it takes several treatments. However, when I oiled gloves in my life, I did it only once. With this product, my son and I did 3 applications and it did soften the glove a little bit but not as quickly or effectively as 1 treatment with oils, from what I recall.

Ended up buying “HOT GLOVE” where you rub a foam into the glove and put it in the oven for only a few minutes. After only 1 treatment, it really soften the leather. Planning on doing another treatment but was amazed at the difference after just 1 treatment.

With all that, this product (Rawlings) is a mediocre product. They also say that the plastic ball (softball-sized) that it comes with is for both softball AND baseball but my 10 yr old thinks that using a regular baseball is better.

Purchased for my 11 year old son to break in his new custom glove from Christmas. Perfectly sized and easily utilized on a daily basis without supervision. Have chosen not to utilize the ointment for fear that it might disrupt the custom colors of the glove.

Set oven to 300 and while it is preheating, spray the foam onto your glove covering half of it. Then rub in the foam covering the glove evenly including the laces and in between the fingers. The oven should be ready by now so place a towel over a cookie sheet then place the glove on the towel and bake it for 3 to 4 minutes.

When you pull it out finish rubbing in any foam still visible on the glove and start working to break it in. I did this 4 times to a new glove and used 3/4 of a can. Worked great.

I have approx 20 baseball gloves that I have repaired in some way. Some very old, and stiff, The hot glove treatment does soften the leather after 2 treatments, on the older stiffer mitts.

My son’s A2000 glove broke during game day warmups. Dicks Sporting Goods was on the way to the game so I called to see if they had a repair kit in stock. Staff was great! Got the kit for me and put it at the front desk! Ran in, paid for it, and headed to the game.

Got the glove laced. Next day playing catch in the yard. Lace broke in the same spot. Laces seemed lower quality and the color was orange, not tan. Also, the needle is terrible! There is a part of the lacing process where the lace has to pass behind itself.

This is very difficult to push through. The style of needle where the lace screws in the back would be much better. Best part of the kit was the snips! Super sharp! It is convenient that everything is together in a pouch, but very expensive considering the quality of the contents.

Especially since the lace broke with less than 50 catches!.

Love it!!! This kit is needed if you have the need to repair gloves often. All 3 my kids had me repair their A2000s.

The Rawlings Leather softener is just what I need for my 44 year old softball glove. when I found my glove it was almost white in color and stiff in the folded position. After a few coats of the Rawlings oil it started to soften and started to get back in shape.

I will need a few more coats to keep in shape for me to play catch with my daughter after we both get home for work.

I’ve been using this stuff since I was 7-8 years old playing Little League. I’m still using it now that I’m 64 years old playing Senior Softball. I wish I had a $5. 00 bill for every time I’ve oiled my glove with Glovolium.

I bought a can of this glove conditioner for an old 23 year old glove I’ve had since I was a kid, that dried up over time. After I put some of this stuff on, and after the oil worked its way in and settled, my glove just came to life.

I also applied this to a Rawlings GG elite I recently bought, and I noticed the glove got a bit more supple. This should make the breaking-in process easier and faster. I also appreciate how this stuff is made from natural oils and conditioners, as per the can.

A little pricey I admit, but it’s worth to keep on hand to keep your favorite glove in good condition.

I won’t use anything else. I’ve tried all of the glove conditioners out there, this is hands down the best. You shouldn’t use any conditioner excessively. Focus on the lashes and key break in areas. Repeat as needed during the season, and def after.

Hands down the best product for glove care. Won’t make your glove heavy and gives it just the right amount of tack. You can find it online for about half of what it costs at dicks.

Wilson Pro Stock Glove Conditioner is the best leather conditioner that I have used. It effectively conditions and restores a variety of leather items. I have personally applied it to baseball gloves, hockey gloves, belts, boots, cases, carrying straps, etc.

My only concern is its price. Over the fifteen years that I have purchased this product, it has unfortunately exemplified all too well the paradox of inflation: Pay more, get less! The amount of the product offered in the “hockey puck” container has continually decreased, while the price has steadily risen at a seemingly inordinate rate.

Purchased to condition my son’s glove. Spray made it really easy to apply and it did a great job conditioning the leather. Worked so well on his fielding glove that I moved on to my glove and our catchers mitt.

Leather felt brand new again. Sprayed on enough to moisten leather and just wiped away any excess with a dry rag. Very happy with the purchase!.

Has everything needed to fix almost any glove mishap that may come along or if you need to re-lace a glove I did a little preventative maintenance on a youth glove tighten all the lacing glove looks like new.

I really liked the quality of all the components. I bought the kit to adjust a new glove for my son. With the awl included in the kit, re-threading the lacing was easy and efficient. I also like the carrying case, compact and great quality.

Bought this wanting to break in a new Mizuno Prime MVP SE glove. Pros: Great for conditioning the leather. Cons: Not really a con, but just the oil, the ball and elastic strap won’t break in a new glove.

You still need to pound it with a mallet and play significant catch. Been doing that everyday for two weeks.

I admit the idea of a prepackaged kit got me. I used rubber bands and oil with no problem. Overall an ok buy Except for the bamd. Its a kids glove and the banned got stressed a d started falling apart by day 2.
