20 Best Oil For Coarse Hair (2022 Updated)

This Amla oil is really good for oiling your hair, it’s easy to apply and distribute over sectioned hair, great for 1 hour treatment or leave it overnight in your hair for a deep conditioning treatment.

Many people say it smells awful, but I find it nice and musky like incense, I quiet like it. Only downside to this oil is you have to wash your hair numerous of times, for me personally it’s three shampoo washes, as I have really long hair to my waist, my advice is use a deep cleansing shampoo specifically made for greasy hair, but before you shampoo use conditioner on just your lengths first to remove most of the oil, wash that out then shampoo your scalp, but I have type 1B hair and that works for me but may not for others.

But end result is worth it, as it left my hair nice and soft, shinier than ever before and well moisturised ends. It has made my hair grow a bit after using it three times a week for a month, third time I deep condition with this oil in my hair and scalp overnight with a disposable shower cap on, and a towel over my pillow whilst I sleep so it doesn’t stain my pillowcase.

My desert island hair product I’ve been using this for a few years now and it has many benefits. I have curly hair but not much of it, this madness my hair feel instantly thicker and gives it a bit more weight and shine.

Massaged into the scalp it also clears flaky scalp. When my hair is overdue a tin and the ends are a bit fried or restores them and helps keep the ends healthy. I’m told it might darken hair over time, I don’t notice it on my brown hair but I would use with caution for blondes.

The oil itself is stinky. For me, it just smells like a naff perfume but my partner thinks it smells unbearable.

This oil by Carols Daughter smells delicious enough to want to eat. It revived my hair when it’s extremely dry. I love that is light weight to be an oil and doesn’t weigh down my hair. I like to use it with conditioner for a leave in or hot oil treatment.

I also use it for my cuticles it’s good for nails as well. I can use this oil for my body too after I get out the shower and dry off. It leaves your skin so soft to the touch. I actually love this product. It smells fantastic. I have very coarse, thick, wavy and frizzy hair. I am also white. I am pretty sure Carols daughter was designed for African woman’s hair. I have purchased quite a few of their products and they are fantastic but and very concentrated.

For me and As I wrote about how my hair type is, I must be very careful about the amount I use. A little goes a VERY long way. Too much will tend to become a weighed down greasy situation. Would not recommend for anyone with Caucasian fine, thin hair at all.

Someone with very thick coarse wavy or curly coarse hair or African would love these products. They are phenomenal. Start with small amounts first. Great brand.

I really like this brand of hair oil. I actually love everything that this brand has come out with. My hair is frizzy and curly and wavy and course and so I could use all the love and moisture I could get.

I use oil in my hair daily to help with the fridge and shine. This product works very well. It makes my hair look shiny and smooth. I’ve got many compliments on how healthy my hair looks when I use this.

I love to use this right before straightening or adding curled to my hair. It adds shine and helps protect with the heat. It has a nice light scent and isn’t too greasy. This is really awesome for people with coarse hair who are looking for a little shine and softness added.

This product is my now go to after I hop out of the shower. Using it on damp hair before a blow dry leaves my hair shiny and smooth all day. It’s given back my dull hair its shine. My hair is bleached so it always feels dry and damaged, even after styling with other heat protectant sprays, but this hair oil has helped maintain my frizz even days after use.

I have been using this after the shower for around 4 weeks and am loving it. I’ve gotten a few close friends using it too now as it’s a cheap alternative to the hair oils from the hair care shops. I use a bit over a 50 cent sized amount and have barely made a dint into the product.

The ogx argan oil also has a lovely smell that meshes well with my shampoo and conditioner. I can also extend the period of time between washes which is so great as it takes me so long to wash and style my hair.

I usually have to wash my hair every three days as it will start getting dry and gets knotty very easily. I can now get around a week before my hair needs a wash. My hair also has been more durable and I have been experiencing way less breakage as well as loosing less hair throughout the day.

It’s also become way more easy to brush my hair in the mornings and I’m experiencing much less tangles, I believe this is because my hair is more nourished and healthy so its getting tangled less then with my dry hair with no product.

The only negative thing I have noticed is if my hair isn’t damp enough or if i try and use it after straightening my hair it makes my hair look oily and weighed down, this is more user error then a problem with the oil itself.

With the negatives aside I would definitely recommend this product to anyone with bleached hair or thicker hair. This oil claims to be a penetrating oil and I whole heartland agree, I have used many oils on the market and most just leave a layer if oil on top (yes even when I apply with towel dried hair) and some are not at all affordable.

I have never tried an oil that makes such a difference on my hair and leaves barely any residue, I use a generous amount and my hair still sucks all the oil up. My hair thrives with oil because of how much heat and bleach I use on it, its given my hair so much shine and smoothness back into it.

I am extremely happy with how my hair has turned out. Even after bleaching it Last week, I feel like I was able to go blonder then usually as I have been taking care of it and nurturing it with a few new ogx products.

I would ten out of ten purchases this product and continue using it.

I just received it and I love it already! It made my hair really soft, smooth and shiny! Some people complain this is full of chemicals (silicones) that are bad for the hair. The hair is dead and if you want it smooth and shiny, you need to condition it with things like emollients, and some also act as occlusives to seal everything in (such as silicones and argan oil) and they also act as a protective barrier against things like humidity (bye bye frizzy hair).

The only problem with silicones is that some are hard to get out the hair, but if you use an appropriate shampoo once in a while (one with sulfates works very well), you will prevent too much build up from happening.

But don’t be scared by it, because it’s that build up that protects you hair and makes it look amazing. It won’t damage your hair in the long term, just make sure to use a silicon free shampoo that clarifies the hair once in a while.

So yeah, I loved this product. The only downside is the smell. A lot of people love it and I agree that it’s not bad, it’s very fresh and salon-y. But I don’t like my hair smelling hair products too much.

It’s not very strong however, so I’m okay about it. Also, don’t use too much, you will make your hair look greasy. I use 2 pea sized amount on each half, but if you have fine hair, use a lot less.

I get a full head of foils every week so I was very excited to try OGX Renewing + Argan Oil of Morocco Extra Strength Penetrating Oil. The ends of my hair are very dry and with regular purple shampooing it really doesn’t help the situation! The scent is quite pleasant and not over powering at all for my preference.

When applying to towel dried hair, I used about a 20 cent piece sized amount. The consistency is medium but surprisingly it disperses really well into damp hair. I found that blow drying my hair when it was about half dry, the most effective method to get it silky smooth as blond hair air drying can actually make it feel more rough and dry.

Another method I found to add extra hydration with this hair oil was to liberally apply it to the end prior to washing to protect it from the sometimes harsh purple shampoo, which is recommended to be left on for several minutes.

Definitely noticed less drying when this was done. Overall a pretty decent hair oil that can be easily sourced when out and about. Will continue to use. Thanks Beauty Crew!.

this is an inexpensive hair oil with an expensive feel, scent and quality! a small squeeze of this covers my ends and leaves my hair smelling nutty and sweet. it keeps my hair looking shiny and tames any frizz or dryness without staying oily or sticky to the touch.

this absorbs nicely and i’ve owned the same bottle for over a year and it’s more than half full still. only thing i sometimes have an issue with is the thickness of the oil, i use sparingly because too much can saturate hair and make it not able to dry, but if applied with a small amount and when your hair is wet , it’s perfect! i also apply a dime sized amount after styled my hair and it adds extra shine.

The oil is bit runny and is very light weighted. It smells herb- moroccon , which is so pleasant to smell. I like like the smell of this. When this is applied to damp hair, the hair dries to a soft , tangle free and looks healthy.

Also, when it is applied to dry hair ( even before heat) , it makes your hair look shiny in a non oily way. I generally apply it to my hair, but applying in your scalp won’t make your hair look oily or greasy.

I have shoulder length hair , and I do need very little. Even with long hair , you will need little bit of the product and hence it will last you longer.

I have dry frizzy hair and this oil brought out my curls hydrated my hair and smells wonderful. I use it on wet hair and then add mor once my hair is fully dry. My hair feels healthier and is starting to grow very fast.

My split ends are almost gone after a month of using this oil. I highly recommend this product snd if you want an intense overnight treatment I saturate my hair before going to bed then wash it out when I wake.

The item was great or at least what there is of it!! The top to my bottle of argon oil was on on tight enough and almost 1/2 of it leaked out all over my other products. That in It self was a horrible mess, I called customer service and explained exactly what had happened.

The lady at customer service told me that I had to take photos of everything. Which was the packing material, box that the argon oil came in, packing slip including the box that it was shipped in(I had already taken the oily box to the dumpster) I sent all pictures to your company and they said everything looked good and would send me right out a replacement bottle.

I never received the replacement bottle. I called customer service back and they said it was marked as delivered, It had never came to my house, so the lady I talked to said she would put a trace out on it and get back to me well I have never heard back from her again.

I am disabled and live on $865. 00 by the time I pay my rent, water,sewer,gas and electricity I barely have any money left (my sister provides my food,meals) it is a luxury for me to order anything from your company.

So I have decided to no longer purchase your products as I can’t afford to replace the argon oil,which is a shame because you do have great products but your customer service ****’S!!!.

I was actually super impressed by this oil. I have fine, low porosity 2C-3B curls. I have a hard time finding any oil that won’t just sit on top of my hair and make it heavy and/or greasy. Because this one specified that it was “penetrating,” I decided it was worth a try, after all, the price is too good to pass up.

This oil has made my hair SO soft and so shiny, and has even given my hair a surprising amount of bounce and volume! I am super please and very impressed. The silicones don’t bother me because I do clarify my hair with a sulfate shampoo every three to four washes.

Since a small amount goes a long way, the bottle will last me a long time. Which is great considering it’s super affordable too. It also smells incredible. Definitely will repurchase in the future!.
