20 Best Oil For Cradle Cap (2022 Updated)

I had my first child a couple of months ago, so I didn’t know what cleansing gel to use. I talked with my family doctor and she recommended me this product from Mustela because it is made mainly from plant based ingredients.

I remembered that one of my friends used so many cleansing gels on her child and I was curious what she and her child liked. She told me that she regrets using other products because her child was used to the no-tear formula from Mustela and when she changed the cleansing gel, her child cried a lot – now she returned to Mustela.

Taking into consideration the recommendations, I used this cleansing gel from birth. It helped me to delicately wash my child’s hair, face and body. We all enjoy the bath time, when he splashes the water and make bubbles with a big smile on his face.

For a more hydrated and soft skin, I use this product with Nourishing lotion with cold cream, also from Mustela (my child has a dry skin). I also like the smell of this cleansing gel.

It really works!!!! I tried a lot of stuff , such as olive oil, aquaphor and etc…. Nothing helped. My baby had a worse cradle cap ever ! It looked like a desert …. But this cream with shampoo worked! And I want to notice, that the shampoo without this cream does not work! Even maybe works only cream….

My daughter is 7 and still gets bad cradle cap type build up on her scalp and behind her ears. I have tried treating it with oil, washing with regular shampoo and with regular anti dandruff shampoo but nothing was working.

Then I decided to try this. After one wash it was noticeably better. Three washes in and her scalp is lovely and clean. Bonus: she has very sensitive skin which made me nervous to try this but she has not had any problems.

It does have a strong rose smell so might not be for you if you dont like scents. We dont mind it if it is working and doesnt irritate her skin.

I bought this for use on my 18 month old who has had cradle cap in varying degrees since being a few months old. I’d thoroughly recommend it for any little ones suffering with cradle cap as it has cleared up within 1 month.

I’ll keep using this to keep the cradle cap away, it also seems to have helped with hair growth too but this may be that the hair isn’t stuck to his scalp anymore.

This product was recommended to me for cradle cap prevention/treatment! My son has a lot of hair for his age so this is essential! Works really well, we’ve had no problems with cradle cap! Also cleans the hair well and makes it look nice.

Affordable. Only down side is that it is a smaller bottle than other shampoos I’ve tried.

The mustela cradle cap bundle has been so helpful! My neice had it really bad not only on her head but on her ears. After just a day of using it was already looking better. Within a week it was almost completely gone.

We had tried so many other products before that had minor changes. But this one has given by far the best results plus it’s super easy to apply doesn’t leave you or baby feeling sticky or weighed down.

How weird that I came across this after battling my daughter’s cradle cap for 3 years. And it works well. I waited to write a review until I had time to really use it. I used another brand that didn’t work so great.

Then I tried coconut oil and a q-tip. This cream isn’t super greasy, and I like that the tip is pointy to get specific spots and Scrape at the build up gently. And the shampoo just washes it all away.

The Vivvi Bloom 2 in 1 Scalp Body Massage oil worked wonders for my son! He started getting a real dry head turning in to cradle crap so I used the oil and it helped resolve the issue! The oil goes along way so you don’t have to use much and it makes the flakes come off real easy.

I love that it has no scent, it’s fast acting and moisturizes real well!.

This 2 in 1 was very moisturizing to me and my daughters skin. The oil it’s self has a light scent which is always best for the little ones. The oil absorbs faster then other oils so you don’t have to worry about oil stains on clothing or sheets.

The oil bottle is made well it has no spill so far!.

I read the reviews and purchased this product. It doesn’t work for thicker hair. I’m African American and my baby has nice full straight hair and this product dried her hair out and have her more cradle cap than she had at first.

I kept using it thinking I was using it wrong but after each use it was progressively worse. I purchased Shea moisture shampoo which added moisture back to my baby hair , and oiled her scalp with organic extra virgin coconut oil and it has worked for the cradle crap.

I would let this sit for 10 minutes and wouldn’t be able to find the areas I needed to work on unless feeling then would use several tools including the top but it didn’t do anything. It also leaves a very strong smell in the baby hair for days.

My son had really bad cradle cap and we saw a difference when using this product one time. Don’t know why Amazon makes you buy 2 tubes instead of giving you the choice. In my opinion, I didn’t use much oil and it works great so I’m a little confused on the bundle package.

The extra one will be given as a gift since it’s such a good product!!!.

I use this on my six week baby used it for two weeks use the complete bottle and I could honestly say it really was gentle enough to not irritate my babies skin and it helped greatly with his cradle cap!! It’s been two weeks he still has a little cradle crap but nothing compared to what he had before!! My baby had no reaction to it I used it three times a week along with frida combs 3 in 1 ! Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something less harsh.

i live in a city with the number one Vet school in the US. my teensy POODLE got cradle-cap (yep, doggy’s get it too) and they sent a little flake to a lab and looked under a microscope and charged me a zillion $$.

finally, i decided that what was benign to them was CRADLE CAP in my little red poodle, Teddy. too early to tell if there’s a cure here, but I feel happier. PLUS, i heard or read (forget which) not to use serums or creams on your eyebrows.

Excellent. The only thing that cleared my baby cradle cap. The cream is light and thin. Easy to apply directly to scalp with the thin nozzle and spreads well. Very gentle with no irritation. I don’t like the smell though.

I purchased the cradle cap cream after reading some good reviews and boy it did not disappoint! Iv tried a few other products which didn’t work at all. However the mustela cream and the shampoo literally cleared my sons cradle cap in 3-4 days.

I used the cream in the morning and gave him a bath in the evening and lightly combed his hair while the shampoo waited, it seriously took off the cradle cap with such ease. It took about 3 days for the majority to clear and by the 4th day it was all gone.

I’d highly recommend this and the shampoo to parents who are finding it difficult to clear cradle cap.

I seriously wants to review this product, my daughter was having cradle cap dry itchy scap from birth tried so many things gp gave steroid dint work out. but by luck saw this produt in asda online after seeing the reviews though would give a try n see the results are amazing after using 3 times in 2 weeks she is absolutely fine n all cradle cap gone.

My daughter swears by this shampoo for use on her 11 month old baby. The shampoo is hard to purchase on the normal supplier sites shown by the manufacturer where it can be bought for less than 4. 00.

It is out of stock and I cannot find a reason for this? Was happy to pay the price I did because it was one of the more reasonable that I had come across!.

Definitely had high hopes for this product because of the amazing review online. However, it did not improve the condition of my son’s cradle cap. I gave it two stars because it had a nice scent to it and it lathered well.

Unfortunately it did not do what the bottle claims it’s supposed to do.

So no skin reaction (rashes, patches). It’s easily absorbed by the skin, I’d give her a warm bath a night and massage her while she was still semi dry. I never had an issue, my baby’s skin appreciated the extra moisturization and I loved how silky it felt on her skin.

This product is fabulous! It’s very soothing, and feels amazing on the skin! It absorbs rather quickly but it’s an oil so it’s meant to hydrate. I use this after a bath on my kids and they love it! Leaves their skin feeling so soft! The ingredients are great too, sunflower seed oil, coconut oil and grape seed oil.

This is a plant based, non toxic and extra gentle! My husband even asks me to rub some on his shoulders and he’s got very sensitive skin. This product is wonderful! Our family really likes it and we 100 percent recommend! I received this complimentary for my honest review.

It really is soothing. I can’t decide whether I prefer this one or the bath and body oil. The latter is more fragrant, but this one, even though has only very faint aroma, it is just lovely. Another wonder from Balmonds!.

I add half a cap full into the water of my reusable wipes and they are amazing at cleaning my little ones bum now that she’s teething, the wipes glide over her skin while moisturizing at the same time.

Both my children as babies had cradle cap and I used this shampoo on them, and I am so glad a friend recommended it. It not only smells good but it helps relieve the cradle cap. Keep in mind, it does not clear it completely.

no shampoo/methods can do that (I know I have tried all), but you will definitely see a huge difference (within a week) compared to other brands or at home remedies. Now my children are 3 and 5. They get dandruff-like flakes created by eczema.

I decided, what the heck, let’s try this product again. It had almost cleared my son’s scalp in just a week. I highly recommend this product and I rarely do that.

I couldn’t wait for this to get here and I immediately put my grandson in the tub and let this shampoo soak on his head for 10-15 minutes and used a baby brush to gently scrub the cradle cap. 1 time and it’s almost completely gone! Completely recommend this product! His cradle cap wasn’t severe but it wasn’t mild either so you have an idea of what to expect.

This single handedly got rid of my son’s cradle cap after trying everything else under the son. Just a little squirt of this and I comb it through with a cradle cap comb. Within 2 washes it was GONE.

This product worked well. I did a lot of searching and review comparisons before purchasing this for my infant. It’s been 3 days and I already see a difference in my baby’s scalp. It looks more moisturized and less flaky.

It hasn’t cleared completely yet but we are going to keep incorporating it into bath time routine. I will encourage other parents to also invest in the sponge brush and comb sold separately as well. The comb specifically helps lift up the scales after washing and the teeth of the comb are smaller than a normal comb on hand.

We used this for mild cradle cap but this really helped our baby who has eczema and had a very itchy scalp! The spray would keep her from rubbing her head back and forth on the bed throughout the night.

Even though her scalp is better, we still use the shampoo once a week which makes her hair so soft and shiny! The spray is good for taming her frizz and bed head hair in the morning. Will continue to buy this even though I don’t really need it for cradle cap/eczema related issues anymore!.

My 5 month old had some stubborn cradle cap and I used this just twice and it had reduced it by over 50%. Normal high street products weren’t working well and I didn’t like the smell of them but this has a lovely gentle fragrance.

I put it on in the morning and left all day to wash off at night as that was our routine but you can put it on at night and wash it off in the morning. It does make my baby’s hair look a little greasy but she doesn’t have much of it so I don’t mind! The reason I have 4 stars instead of 5 is because I strongly believe the Uriage Moisturising Milk does the same job as I have been abroad and could only get that so I’ve been using that a couple of times a week and it’s doing almost as good a job too.

This serum tho helped me with getting off of wrinkles cool but i don’t use it more so if you suffer from under eyes wrinkles and redness this is a good idea to make your eyes shine🌅💥💦

Our little guy had bad cradle cap and it was quite itchy for him. We think he might have ezcema on his scalp as well. This cream has been amazing for soothing his scalp – it looks less irritated and he’s not scratchy nearly so much.

No faults in this product what so ever. Would just like more of it! I love using this oil on my baby’s skin, especially after bath time, it’s very light which doesn’t feel too greasy and it doesn’t seep into clothing, you don’t need to use a lot of it either.

Leaves baby’s skin feeling super soft and moisturised and smelling gorgeous. The smell might be fairly strong for some, but I find it pleasant and it’s all organic! The baby range is amazing, definitely recommend this along with their other baby products.

Definitely repurchasing, might even use it myself.

Bought this for my baby daughter whilst i was pregnant, now she’s 3 months old and I’ve used it for the first time. I grew up with my mum using NY products, and the scent of this oil sent me back down memory lane.

I purchased this product because I used lots of NY Remedies products during my pregnancy. This oil last for ages, I’ve had the bottle for 5months now and I’m about half way through. It keeps my baby’s skin very moisturised, and mainly, didn’t cause any skin iritation which was my main concern.
