IšverstiShow in original languageThis is the perfect generator for my needs. I will use it as a backup if I lose power to my home. I just purchased it 7/25/22 and it was so easy to set up. The booklet that came with it is excellent in explaining everything about the generator.

I will use propane as my primary fuel and it only took a few minutes to set up. The generator started right up when I pressed the start button. I am amazed at the excellent engineering of this model.

It was well thought out and completely user friendly. Thank you so much for producing a great product.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe ordering process and delivery was seamless; unit arrived on schedule in good shape. Assembly was easy. I had to find an aftermarket adapter that allowed me to connect both a 240 volt panel and a 120/240 volt panel.

Once procured, I was able to complete the installation and test the unit. It handled my loads. I was not able to confirm propane consumption yet – awaiting first long outage. A means to connect a 6′ exhaust pipe to the discharge would be useful to get fumes away from the house.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis unit was purchased as a answer to power outages. We installed a new breaker box with a transfer switch and now have the ability to power the whole house. An outside receptacle to the breaker box makes it easy (in just a few min) to get everything hooked up and running.

4,850 watts is enough to power the fridge, AC, (or furnace) computers and a few lights. So, yes WE ARE PLEASED with the DuroMax brand. Easy start, good quality and so portable as well.

IšverstiShow in original languageSo I have the 12,00 EH model for about 3 years now does what it’s supposed too do and backup my power up when needed. A few tips on break-in pull plug and drop table spoon of oil in and pull cord a few times so no dry start.

Best to use Marvel Mystery oil and keep it on hand as I will later explain. Ok now on break oil use a non- synthetic four cycle oil run for a hour then change. Next repeat last step but run for two hours with a load on it then change oil agin.

Now use a four cycle synthetic oil, tip stick with four cycle engine oil as they are formulated just for these motors unlike car oil. Amzoil and Honda are the best ones to use. If you are going to use gas, non- ethanol will save your carb in the long run, but if you are using just regular gas before cutting off gas turn cutoff valve to off and run out gas in line and then use drain screw on carb bowel to drain gas out carburetor before storing! On storage mode to keep motor in good shape, over long periods moisture will creep into motors, to stop this from happening, once agin pull plug and drop in a tablespoon of Marvel Mystery oil then pull cord 2-3 times then put plug back in.

I usually fire mine up about once every 45 days. Then pull my plug and add M. M oil to store it with on each time unit is to be stored!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI received my DuroMax XP13000EH generator in a timely manner and in very good shipping condition. Very easy to assemble the wheels, handles and rear stand supports. After connection of the battery and adding the oil, I used a propane tank to initially start it up.

After second cranking cycle it started up and ran great, allowing it to run with no load for about 1 hour on LP. I then did use the 50amp 240v rec. and plugged into my house panel and simulated a power outage and put a load onto the generator while running on the LP, it ran great.

By turning off breakers and load sheading unwanted loads (2- heat pumps, water heater, stove, washer, dryer) I was able to run a well pump, 2 refrigerators, upright freezer, wood stove blower, all lights (mostly LED) and still had some room left over for other small items.

I did this for about 2 hours on a 20lb LP tank and about 1 hour on gas and had no problems. The biggest decision behind this model was the capability of being able to use LP versus gasoline but then having the ability of 2 sources, and all the loads that I needed to keep energized in the event of a long power outage.

A small amount of assembly was required, but it was very straightforward and instructions are included. I saved $300 by having this shipped to me and doing a small amount of assembly as opposed to buying this same model at a local store.

I had a 50 amp gen plug installed on the side of my garage and I have twice used this generator to power most of my home on the propane setting. Lights, fridge/freezer, hot water heater, well pump, and computers.

It has worked extremely well so far. I live in a rural area that doesn’t have the most reliable electric service and now I’m working from home so this was a must have. So far this has been a very good purchase.

IšverstiShow in original languageI put this stuff in my engine and the next morning after starting it up I had a very loud ticking from the lifters. Contacted Z Max and told me that it probably broke some old sludge up so I should drain the (new) oil and put new oil in and add another bottle of this junk.

The person at Z Max that I was talking to claimed to be the owner of the company and he said that if my engine didn’t start to run better then he would pay for another engine. Yea, fat chance. The company stopped talking to me and wouldn’t answer my calls.

Guess they had called ID so they were able to avoid their unhappy customers.

IšverstiShow in original languageI believe this is good technology. Today’s engine oils are the best but I think ZMAX adds an additional level of protection to allow engines to last even longer. I also love my favorite auto parts store, O’Reilly.

They are my go to store for all automotive needs. If they don’t have it they will find it and get it to you.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have been using ZMAX for about 4 years now and by far it has been doing its job. It gas helped my Honda fit 2010 come back to life. I mean its amazing. My honda fit was getting sick and emgine light turned on.

The diagnosis says she has cancer. My best friend who is a Dr. aka AUTO MECHANIC told me to get that 👆MEDICINE and give it to my HONDA. He said to give the tamsmission meds (ENGINE) after taking a shower, (which is after getting an oil change.

) Then to put the one for the FUEL when tank is half way full. 😊 Then he said to take my Honda for marathon run , ( drive it in the freeway to stir the meds into the engine. Then it will eventually work its way to fix the issue.

I kid u not, after 3 days of driving it in the freeway for abut 17miles each to and back the engine light went away. I was shocked. Because I almost wanted to take it for surgery which is to take it to AAMCO.

They where going to charge me $800 for the tranny to get fixed. But this product was a miracle for me. Not only that the tranny was fixed my fuel was too🙃. So yes I recommend this product @100 %. Good luck and thank you for reading! 😜.

Oil change intervals for the 5500 Gold Marquis is 250 hrs and generators have to be reliable so why not use the best.

I always thought oil is oil, when it came to buying oil for two stroke machines. Then one day (while far from home) my gas can of fuel that I had mixed at home, was empty. The only two stroke I could buy nearby was OPTI-2.

I bought it and used it then for the first time. WHAT A DIFFERANCE! Machines that normally took 2-4 pulls to start were now starting on LESS than one full pull. Plus, OPTI has a stabilizer already in it.

It is now the only two stroke oil Id use.

I race Penton vintage off road motorcycles, and have been using it for many years without once loosing a top end. I have earned several championships with this oil, and it always burns clean, keeping the piston like new.

And, with the added stabilizer, you don’t have to worry about your gas getting old. It costs more than other oils, but the benefits far out weigh that difference.

Do you want an oil that is simple and easy to use? This is your oil. You mix the same amount of oil per gallon of gas no matter what the mix ratio is. I have been using it for years on weedeaters, chain saws, rototillers, blowers, boat motors, etc etc.

I have never had an issue with any of them. Not only that but it burns cleaner with a lot less smoke. I highly recommend it.

I had just bought a boat and was planning to go out the next weekend. Not having my oil tank full I was in the market for Quicksilver DFI synthetic oil. Not everyone carries this oil and dealers were to expensive.

Got on the web found Wholesale Marine to have it at a good price. Placed my order and had the product at my door in 2 days. Great experience with Wholesale Marine.

Used this oil exclusively for 20 years in my 200 HP Merc Optimax on my 2001 BW Dauntless. Never have had any problems with lubrication or other oil related issues. The price might be high, but in the long run I think it is the best value.

IšverstiShow in original languageRecently purchased to upgrade from my 6000w / 8250w generator to support our electric heating if we were to lose power during the winter. Tested the unit today and appears to handle the job much easier than the previous portable generator.

Setup isn’t awful but I do wish the funnel tube to get the oil in that was provided was an inch or two longer to make it easier to pour. Battery placement is a bit annoying to get to. I had two back surgeries so to have to get to the floor level and either snake the negative cable in, even after removing the plate in-front of the battery, took some work.

The manual doesn’t really go over needing to connect the negative terminal. It goes over how to hook up the cables to charge the battery but doesn’t go over the negative terminal in the earlier parts of the setup.

Something I’d like to see added to the manual is perhaps the wrench sizes needed called out, as I can imagine if you don’t hang onto the supplied wrenches that you’d like an easy way to determine the size needed.

(Only time I see a size is for the drain and gap plug). Comes with a double sided screw driver. Don’t see it referenced in the manual and don’t see where it is used/needed. Even with my notes, I would say setup is on average with any other generators.

Output presently seems accurate and able to operate the whole house. Living in a heavily wooded area, we lose power after many storms and the real test will be in the winter in the Northeast.

I bought the dual fuel (propane and gas) XP12000EH, very simple set up and to run. DuroMax has changed the way you buy generators in Florida, before DuroMax you would by a Generac whole house generator for $30,000.

00! No matter what anyone says its $30k! By the time you install the generator, fuel type (natural or propane), labor, concrete pad, transfer switch, etc. BUT, it only does your home; you can take it on the road if needed.

So, what you do in Florida or anyplace you need power. You still install the transfer switch ($500), buy the cord ($125) and a window A/C unit ($300). I paid $940. 74 for my DuroMax XP12000EH generator on Amazon day….

yes Free shipping! So, I do have to go out in the rain before hurricane to plug it in and turn on generator, so my DuroMax powers everything in my house (I have natural gas stove, water heater and dryer), but all lights (which I switched to LED) and refrigerator.

I put the window unit A/C in the main area and directly plug into generator. So all lights and appliances work and my home is cool enough to live in. But, my costs are total like $2000. 00. So what did I do with the other money I saved on this generator? Glad you asked! HAHA.

I bought a trailer and two ATVs, my son and I stay in the trailer that has A/C shower and toilet. That cost me $17000. 00. Which we take my DuroMax generator on the road to power the trailer when we go ATVing!! So, for like $19k I am comfortable in my home during power outages and get to spend quality fun times with my son.

We were camping and this generator was so powerful the people next to us had an issue with their Honda generator, I just told them to plug into mine, and my generator powered both with no issue! So yes, the Generac turns on by its self during a power outage.

But, I don’t mind walking to my DuroMax generator in the rain to turn a key to start it and save $28,000. 00! Just saying I think my way is much better!!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have had this generator for several years, Thankfully i have only had to use it a few times as a backup power, in the PacNW we really don’t get very many power outages however during an unprecedented ice storm, in the last few years the power was out for almost two weeks.

I had this generator and being a dual fuel, running on propane. very clean and no worries about fuel going bad. This not only powered up my RV it also powered up my neighbors, about 10 of them all around me.

we had power, lights, heat, TV, all the amenities that are needed (ok the tv isn’t needed). The power wasn’t plentiful and there were only a few blips, mostly when someone would turn on more heaters.

however the 12,000 watts handled it with ease a bit of a flicker in the lights but everything kept going. Would shut off once a day to check the oil and change the 10 gallon propane tank (always had gasoline as a backup, but didn’t put any in the tank)The unit was running at about 3/4 load.

Gladly the outage was recovered from and the good ole generator had a oil change, spark plugs and then stored away for the next time. Great generator.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis would be a 5 star review based on the generator alone, however Walmart. com’s expected delivery date and actual delivery date was a week apart, without any excuse given – even when questioned directly knowing the generator was in a distribution location 20 minutes from my house for 2 days! OK – The Wen 4750 Generator was possibly the best purchase I made this year.

Bought for an RV spare power source during out camp sites sometime erratic power fluctuations. Unboxed in minutes (arrived a little frayed) and followed the simple instructions to put the handles and wheels on – all tools provided by Wen – I needed nothing else.

Wired up the battery (*note – I did not find it in the instructions or online, but the battery has a label stating the generator will charge it, but if left alone for 6 months or more, to apply your own charger) – put in oil (provided by Wen) and added gas.

My 15 year old son pressed the started for the inaugural test – fired up in less than 2 seconds! It was a little quieter than I expected – about the loudness of a heavier lawnmower – and I know I can baffle the sound down after studying the internet, even more should i wan to.

The generator itself was in a sturdy frame and everything was easily accessible – a true joy to work with. I entirely recommend this unit for anyone a little unsure – very easy to operate and a lot lighter when using the handles and pulling along on wheels than you would expect (all the heavy weight is over the wheel axles I believe).

IšverstiShow in original languageBox was molested but to my surprise only damage to generator is a thumb size dent on a top corner of frame tubing. Screw to attach negative post to battery was missing but everything else was good to go, fired right up following preparation and ran for 8 hours flawlessly, 4 hours each day.

I started it several times using recoil and battery, never failed to start. I ran it out of gas then changed oil and stored it in a clean and dry space. When the time comes, it will power refrigerator, 3 cubic feet freezer, microwave and TV, not necessarily all at once.

I was tempted to throw double amount of money into something “high end” but realized this is just what I needed. Generator is light and easy to maneuver, running just 10 feet away from kitchen window produced noise that can easily be ignored, if I went to one of the bedrooms, I could almost not hear it, in fact I came back to kitchen once to make sure it was still running.

So, considering the price, features, ease of operation and noise, I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it. After studying generators for few days, I am not so sure spending $1000 would have resulted in a twice as good deal, of course “you get what you pay for” can still bite me when I most need it but it seems that a large number of people are happy with this generator and I see no reason to spend more money to get same thing.

I put gas in it and it will not start. Yes never used won’t start. It wasn’t difficult to put together but that does matter if I actually needed it and it does not work.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’ve been using this oil on my 2007 STI ever since I bought it, and the previous owner has done the same. I’ve used Royal Purple, Mobil 1, and Castrol full synthetic on previous cars (06 wrx, 06 wrx ltd) and these oils would generally burn oil with these cars, which I know is normal for turbo engines.

But with Motul, I don’t see as much difference in oil levels every time I check between oil changes. I realize there might be several reasons for this since they are different cars, but I’ve trusted this oil with my STI and I wouldn’t put anything else in it.

Its hard for anyone to say if an oil is better than another unless they send it for oil analysis (which I am planning to do), but I love this oil. Everything feels smooth, gas mileage is on par with the factory numbers, and the additives in this oil proves the R&D Motul has put in to make their products the best in the racing industry.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe purchased our unit the day before Hurricane Ida hit the LA coast. Our old unit would not start so we had to get a new one. This was the only one available everyone was sold out.

I am sure glad they had this unit. It was very easy to assemble. Hurricane Ida hit and the power was out for 10 days. It ran 8 to 10 hours a day and never faulted in any way. It was very easy to start, it ran everything I needed (except to central a/c).

I just took it out of storage for the new hurricane season. I checked everything out filled it with gasoline and started on the first pull. Very very satisfied.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe generator was boxed well. I appreciated (among other things) it comes with No-Flat tires. For the most part assembly went well except the battery was difficult to connect with the provided tools.

The propane regulator that is provided has a QCC Type-1 fitting to connect to the propane tank, I had to purchase a POL to QCC Type-1 adapter to connect to my 100 lb. tanks (for the minimal cost of an adapter I would have thought Duromax could have anticipated the possible need and provided it).

The rubberized dust cap for the Generator’s propane input fitting broke off the very first time I touched it. The User Manual that comes with the Generator is deficient in the full explanation/description of all the functional and operational elements.

The Generator started with the first push of the start button, and it runs very well. I am very happy with my purchase, although my comments may seem minor, they were, to me, what cost them a fifth star.

If I could ask for one additional feature it would be a means to wirelessly monitor the Generator output and load specifics (Volts, Amps, Watts per leg). Finally, let me forewarn you if you want or need to call Customer Service, they do not like to answer their phone or respond to messages left, in a timely manner.

IšverstiShow in original languageOur DuroMax generator (The XP13000HX) now has 8 hours run time on it and so far so good. We have changed the oil as recommended after the first 6-10 hours and now use synthetic for longer times between changes.

(30 hours as opposed to 20 hours with conventional oil. ) It came with very clear directions for set up. The DuroMax has powered our house for one 6 hour outage so far with no problems. The XP13000HX has a 50A receptacle (14-50R) on the generator that supplies current to the house.

It is pretty heavy (about 242 lbs. ) so keep it accessible for emergencies. Keep the battery charged with a trickle charge between uses for dependability. I would also recommend an outdoor cover in case you need to run it while it’s raining.

What we like: 1. ) Oil pressure shutdown switch. 2. ) Electric start or Recoil start. 3. ) Hour meter to keep track of oil change and use. 4. ) Eight gallon tank with gauge on top. 5. ) Idle control.

So-So: 1. ) Button on multimeter is very tiny and makes it tricky to change modes from voltage, hertz or hours run. Wish it was a little bigger. 🙂 All in all we are very impressed with this generator.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe DuroMax Duel Fuel XP13000HX generator is a powerful unit that runs quiet. Easy to start on propane and easy to start on gasoline. The build quality of this generator is very high.

I consider it the best available. This unit is used to power a whole house when emergency backup is necessary. It also is used to power construction site lighting and electric tools. This unit is portable / heavy duty / dependable.

The digital multimeter displays output voltage, frequency and hours. The fuel usage is 8 1/2 hours plus on full tank of gasoline and about 6 -7 hours on a 40 pound propane tank. ( 50% power output load) This generator weighs 242 lbs, it is portable using the solid wheels and folding handles.

I like the solid wheels : no flat tire on job site. The CO alert carbon monoxide shutdown feature is a great safety feature. This generator has automatic low oil shutdown. The spark arrestor feature makes this generator great for use in dry foresr areas.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this generator for backup power on my off grid homestead. It replaced a 15 year old, 7 hp Troybilt. The DuroMax is much quieter and much more fuel efficient.

It is also heavier and harder to move. The only issue I have with the DuroMax is a tendency to “hunt” for the proper RPM at idle(no load, breaker off) and when cold. This tendency has diminished after approximately 30 hours of run time, but is still annoying.

TSC shipped this unit with a huge dent in the recoil housing and in the valve cover. The dent in the recoil housing was covered in paint that doesn’t match. Shame on you TSC! Be more professional in the future.

The goal was to power two refrigerator freezers and a large salt water reef aquarium. The generator ran for 10 hours using propane from a standard bbq style tank. Tank was half full after ten hours. No problems at all during the night and very happy with performance.

IšverstiShow in original languageI own three Harbor Freight generators, and they’ve performed ok so far, but this Duromax is a step up. The dual fuel feature is more useful than I imagined it would be.

I’ve used every size propane tank from 2 gallon to 250 gallon, and the generator starts instantly every time. The electric start always works, no matter how long I’ve ignored my maintenance duties. Its 5500 watts is more than I need to power my house, shop, and four freezers.

I’ve had this generator for three years now, and it’s outperformed all of the seven generators I’ve owned since 1980. Duromax is one of the best corporations I’ve ever done business with.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe new generator was delivers a few days ago. I was a bit worried about it because the wooden pallet that it was strapped to was crushed. Before I signed for it, I cut off the straps holding it to the pallet so I could inspect the bottom of the box, it seemed OK.

The next day I installed the wheels and handles, connected the battery and added the oil. I put the battery tender on and to my amazement, the battery had a full charge. I hooked up an LP gas tank to the generator and tried to start it several time.

I read the instructions carefully a couple of times but it still wouldn’t start. I played with the choke a bit, going from full right to full left and back to right, it seemed to help by setting the choke in the middle position instead of the full right position as sated in the manual.

Anyway. once the generator stared up I moved the choke to the recommended position and it was up and running. Once I got the hang of starting it, the thing starts right up. It’s about as loud as a lawnmower and stays in place once its stated.

It is quite a well thought out machine and it looks good too. I can this thing to power my entire home if the power goes out, even with the central AC on!.

IšverstiShow in original languageBought this generator 2 years ago for full house backup. Run on propane only from 200# tanks which also supply fuel to fireplace logs for heat backup. Runs everything except heat pumps.

Starter battery will only last a few years at the most. I use the battery in the generator in the winter and in lawnmower in summer. Starts easily on propane, even in very cold weather. Avoid gasoline if you can.

Noise level is medium high when operated in the open. I use it in an open shed with plywood around the generator to shield the noise from the neighbors. If you use the small propane bottles in very cold weather the bottle need to be located in the vicinity of the cooling air stream (not the exhaust) in order to prevent freezing and maintain propane flow.

ALWAYS GROUND the generator to avoid accidental shock. Can’t beat this generator for the usual sale price.

Ordered Thurs. right before July 4th holiday, shipped on Fri. , arrived on Tues. Most complete tracking I’ve ever seen. Like that could use foam packing to turn generator over on to assemble. Nicely painted, even the shipping bracket, which is too nice to throw away, will use on a welding project.

Really nice to find included funnel for oil add, tool kit,L14-30 plug for 240v cord and 120v plug also. I figure those items plus starter motor and battery worth at least $100, so amounts to excellent price for actual machine.

Good price for this output range. Added oil, gas, connect batt neg. and hit the key. Started in less than 2 sec. Ran 15 min. with electrical load to confirm output and engine operation. Could find no recommendation for break-in in manual.

Good manual but some pictures too dark to be useful. Hurricane season coming, we’ll see how it performs and lasts. So far, only complaint is no hour meter included. Since infrequent use is anticipated, hour meter is important to keep up with maintenance.

I bought this generator when I bought some land that had no electric service, this generator was my power source for several years for a small cabin for lighting ,electric tools including those using 220 watts and an air compressor, the air compressor at the time and one I still use today is a 2 1/2 hp direct drive which makes the generator labor a second or so then runs fine, once the new house was planned I had to have electric service installed.

The house includes a 2 hp 600 ft water well and I now have a 2 hp belt drive compressor but this generator will kick out when trying to power up the belt drive compressor and I don’t want to stress the submerged motor in the well so I recently bought a DuroMax XP13000HX dual fuel generator to power my house if needed for electric failure.

My 4400 works fine and still starts with the first pull but just for reassurance if needed I now have two high quality electric generators one for keeping around the house and the smaller one for using in the field.

When I bought my 4400 I read to fire up the generator monthly and use it for 10 minutes or so on some type of load, more than a light bulb plus I’ve regularly changed its oil, I will be doing the same with my new 13000, I believe that helps keep them healthy!.

I love my XP13000EH generator. I only use it with propane but it has no problem running my entire 1850 square foot home. I had an electrician handle the correct installation & installed several CO2 alarms just to be on safe side.

The generator starts up every time with no issues. I will admit I have not turned on every appliance to see how it did. Having the refrigerator/freezer, ac, coffee pot, stove, microwave, television, and lights is more than enough plus hot water.

Laundry can wait in my book to when the power returns. I sleep comfortably knowing this generator is in my garage. The noise level is not bad. I usually have enough juice for my neighbor to run a 115 extension cord to their house.

And the 3 year warranty makes it even a better deal. I am now looking to buy the 15000 in addition to the one I have as an upgrade and keeping the 13000 as a back up or to loan to a neighbor in case of a storm.

I really love these generators.

Purchased the 13,000 dual fuel to run my house during hurricane season for extended power outages. I choose to run propane since propane can be stored for 30 plus years. Propane burns clean and no worries of gummed up carburetor after ethanol gasoline usage, however you do have the option to use gasoline if that is all you can get.

Easily install a breaker panel interlock to prevent the back feed of power to the main lines. Use 6-3 wire to Install a 50 amp plug from the breaker panel along with 50amp cord to connect generator to outlet plug.

Install a good hardstart kit on your central a/c unit. This setup will allow you to run whole house (1600sqft) only using the breakers which are necessary. Startup is easy with the push of a button, just keep the included battery maintained with a trickle charger throughout the year.

I brought the 1300ex duel fuel generator as an upgrade from a older 8500 generator I had for years. I wanted to be able to run my entire home off the generator. So after doing some research I decided to by this duro max.

It has been EVERYTHING I had hoped for. This thing is powerful and It has run my entire house during a recent power outage. It’s much quieter than my previous generator and being able to run it off propane is just absolutely wonderful for me.

The push button start is just the icing on the cake. I’m comfortable knowing my wife can operate this generator if I’m not home due to its easy setup and instructions. I would definitely recommend this generator to anyone looking to get great power, easy operation and reliability from their home generator.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought this months ago and at first sight was intimidated. The delivery guys refused to set it in my shed (right by their truck) and would only put it in front of the shed door.

Then I left it sit for several months. I finally decided I was on my own and determined to put the thing together. With my razor blade I cut the box away. With brute force, I flipped the thing over to remove brackets.

I watched multiple you tube videos, read the manual step by step, and put it together. Flipped the thing upright and walked away exhausted but proud! A couple weeks later, I hooked up a propane tank (30 gallons) and again read the manual step by step to start it.

It was loud (first time I ever did this by myself ever) and quick shut it off! Couple days later, I hooked up the propane tank again, and used it. I forgot to mention, once I got the generator up and over my shed ramps, I vowed to never put the thing back in the shed.

I plugged in my washer and dryer, started the generator, and did two full loads. It was all very hard work for a 61 year old lady BUT I did it all by myself and the generator worked perfect! I now know I will have back up and emergency power when I need it! Thanks Duromax for a great product! I learned a lot during this process and as a widow, I am so happy I picked Duromax!.

IšverstiShow in original languageOnly had this a couple of weeks, just got it for future use in case of power outages to keep the freezer frozen and a few piddly uses around the house. Thought I’d run it on propane when I needed it for short periods, but propane just doesn’t work too well.

Duramax help line is good. When it initially wouldn’t start they helped me troubleshoot it over the phone and sent the part needed to get it running. Finally gave up on propane and filled it with gasoline and it runs great now.

Tech help said my bottle is too small. 20lb and they said I needed a minimum of 40lb so that could be my propane problem. Guess I’ll just drain the gas when long non-use times occur.

IšverstiShow in original languageI just received my generator today the XP12000HX and I couldn’t be happier. It arrived on time and undamaged. The care that was put into the packing and shipping was outstanding.

The instructions were printed in large print with color pictures to guide me through a seamless assembly that took less than one hour. This beast is constructed to last many years. I was very happy with the quality and the care taken to produce this power house.

I read many reviews online but what sold me was the review by Forbes ! The DuroMax was rated at #1 and I can see why now. I am thankful that there is still a company in the USA that takes pride in what they make.

First , a quality paint-job and smoothed edges throughout. An attractive unit. But be forewarned ; the bolts through the metal shipping angle into the frame were extremely tight — unnecessarily so. Penetrating oil was needed to finally loosen them.

After doing the wheels and legs assembly , I added exactly 20 fluid ounces of 10-30 oil and ran it on propane for the five hours of break-in while varying the loads from 600 watts up to about half-capacity 1500 watts.

A quick full choke gave an instant start. It used no oil during the above hours and was not much blackened when drained and changed afterwards. Running noise level was a bit higher than expected ; earmuffs being recommended when starting and working close-by.

Moving it around using the handles is done easily. Very few generator brands this size produce a 120/240 volt capability , so that’s why this brand was chosen and is recommended if you ever might need a 240 volt capability.

My residence standby system is an 8000/10000 unit plus this DS4850EH , this latter one to drive a well pump and the refrigerator and night lights overnight. Both units are fed by a 500 gallon propane tank.

All issues pondered and considered , this is a very desirable and inexpensive midsized generator. At the price , I should have bought two of them.

Still testing the generator. At first try the propane running did not work. The battery start also did not work. The pull start worked on the first pull using gasoline. I’ve reached out to the manufacture for support questions on the propane running and battery start and have heard no response in over a week.

I reached out using their technical support and via email. The email address on the manual was wrong and I had to look it up on their website. These issues are why I rate the generator a 3 star. Great price but not all features appear to work and technical support is lacking.

Update on generator. I finally got the propane feature to work. Looks of pulling. The battery start also works. The negative terminal cable wasn’t attached completely out of the box. I’m glad everything works now.

I wrote Duromax for support via email and web form but got zero responses in over a week.

I purchased this to run a few lights fridge, and freezer. Out of box, (handles axles and wheels, very easy to install) Cranks easley on propane Used it first time when power went out. Worked well and ran quieter than expected.

It ran two fridges 2 freezers a few lights and, the TV and satellite. I do recommend, Google what you want to run, there is a formula to find out how many amps you need for your application.

IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased my Wgen5500 in November of 2017 since I needed to have a means of backup in the event of power outages. I was able to use it the first time for about 12 hours in Jan of 2018, Another 1 day outage in the Spring of 2018.

When this unit really shined was when the tropical storm came up to CT in August of 2020. I live inland but was without power for over a week. This unit did not miss a beat and kept my entire house running including the well and AC.

I changed the oil every 2 days and have only ever ran synthetic in this unit since new. I currently have just a hair over 200 hours on the unit and it never fails to start on the first pull and uses no oil.

Also it is extremely fuel efficient for the wattage output. I get about 18 hours+ on a tank if not hitting it full load. I always store it with a full tank treated with startron and the unit run until the carb is out of fuel.

I start it every 3-4 months and run it for about an hour just to exercise the genset.

IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased this because of the So Cal fires of 2019 incase we lost power due to power company shut downs or loss due to the fires to keep our refridgerators running and lights on.

Out of the box it may have taken 15 minutes to get the wheels and stands installed, if that. Filling the oil tank was problematic though, the fill port is awkwardly located and the supplied oil fill funnel is too short, making for a slightly messy filling operation.

I have not drained the oil yet, but the drain plug seems to be located where draining oil is going to get on the frame. After fueling it started on the second pull which was impressive. Although it is not as quiet as I would like, I had it running along the side wall of my garage and could just hear it in the garage and my wife could not hear it in the house.

When I applied an electrical load it worked as advertised and didn’t even seem to notice the load. The only change I would like to see on this generator is possibly a 3 way valve at the fuel shut off to enable the fuel tank to be drained for storeage.

IšverstiShow in original languageReceived my generator 9\20\17, delivery was two days ahead of schedule. Very easy assembly. I filled the crankcase with supplied quart of oil using the funnel that is also supplied.

I was absolutely amazed how easy this generator is to start. New in box, never started and less that a full pull it started right up. I don’t mean a hefty strong pull, a gentle leisurely pull and only about half of the cord used.

I think a 5 year old could start this generator. I ran it without load for about 20 minutes to break it in then I applied a good strong load by plugging my air compressor into it. This compressor has been known to trip a breaker because of the amount of power it requires for start up.

This generator took that load like it was stretching while drinking a cup of coffee. I am very pleased with it thus far. I am going to hook it up through a switch over to power my home. I borrowed a Cat 700/5500 generator for the week I was without power due to Irma.

Side by side comparison the WGEN 5000/6850 is by far better. The Wgen is much quieter, better value for the dollar, easier to start. I highly recommend this generator.

IšverstiShow in original languageI originally was looking at the duromax generators and stumbled across durostar. I emailed the company directly and asked if they are in fact the same generators as their duromax counterparts.

Indeed they are, and significantly less $$ for the same exact thing in red. Runs my entire house off a 30amp inlet including the AC, although I don’t plan on running the AC unless absolutely necessary, nice to know the capability is there if needed.

Also worth noting there is a lot of discussion regarding the THD. I didn’t measure this generators THD, it’s stated as being between 10-12% I believe. I did run all my “sensitve” electronics just fine such as computer, router, tv, home theatre.

I also have a few UPS that ran just fine off the generator as well which is a good sign.

IšverstiShow in original languageWe assembled the generator, connected the battery terminal, added oil, and gas. Then, inserted the key to attempt to start it. It cranked for 2-3 seconds, then started right up.

I was pleasantly surprised at how it quickly started up on the very first start of a brand new motor. I connected it to an inlet, which is connected to my electrical panels – a 30A and a 50A. I was able to get all of the lights working, and met my requirement to have the central AC unit, and my fridge/freezer running at the same time.

It’s a little louder than my pressure washer, but I think that’s expected because the engine is also bigger. Overall, I am very happy with it, but only once I have a thorough test of it after losing power from a storm or winter freeze will I know for sure how good it really is.

IšverstiShow in original languageI bought the generator as a backup because I live in Florida. Even though I’m having solar panels put up it’ll be good insurance. Generator is very heavy and you have to put the wheels on and two stops on the bottom two handles to move it around very easy with two people.

After finding the negative battery cable tucked up underneath the gas tank I connected it and the generator started right up. keep in mind if you want to keep it ready start it once a month and keep it trickle charger on the battery so the battery is not dead when you go to start it.

It does have a pull start but I didn’t try that yet. Overall I’m very pleased and it showed up very quickly thank you.
