20 Best Oil For Face Cleansing (2022 Updated)

I bought this product approximately a month ago and I will be returning it very soon. I have used it about ten times, and each time it leaves a horrible oily residue on my face that requires me to cleanse it off three times with my follow up cleanser, leading to my skin drying out, and blackheads almost immediately after use.

I have tried many cleansing oils, from budget friendly ones to ones that are over $100. My favourite I have ever used is Tatcha’s or Dermalogica’s, followed by the Eve Lom cleansing balm. I have just purchased the Mecca Cosmetica branded cleansing oil and it is wonderful.

I don’t usually leave one star reviews but I really did not find one redeeming quality about this product at all.

After having a failed back surgery with limited mobility, I needed items I could keep by my chair, as I was unable to sleep in a bed. Everything I needed was kept in my small MB make up bag as well as unscented baby wipes.

I chose this cleansing oil as well as their cleansing milk with carnation rice oil. I didn’t use this to remove make up, but to alternate between the 2 products to remove impurities prevent my face from becoming excessively dry getting deep wrinkles.

I follow up with my MB toner used masks when taking a shower or bath. My home health nurse PT couldn’t believe I was as old as their records show. Only MB products have kept my face in such a good condition looking younger than my age.

I like the ingredients of this product and appreciate the fact that it doesn’t contain harmful chemicals. However, performance is important to me too and this product does not meet my expectation. Judging from the price, I thought it would be a high-quality, lightweight, pure oil but it turns out quite heavy and very greasy.

Don’t get me wrong, I know it is 100% oil so I didn’t expect it to wash off easily like those quasi-oils mixed with chemicals that turn cloudy when they touch water. However, this cleansing oil is just too hard to wash off.

As a morning cleanser, it’s tolerable since you can soak up the oil with tissues before washing it off and it does leave your skin conditioned and moisturized. But, as a make-up remover, it just isn’t ideal.

Yes, it will remove your makeup and mineral sunscreen BUT it is EXTREMELY hard to wash off. When you try to wash everything (oil and makeup/mineral sunscreen) with warm water, your skin becomes so tacky and leaves a heavy film behind.

Even after I follow with a good foaming cleanser, my skin remains tacky and I can see a film on top of my skin that just repels water. I also got more acne after using this cleanser for less than 5 times! I think it could be because it fails to cleanse my skin so my pores are getting clogged.

This product gives me an unpleasant experience. I have used a high-quality cleansing oil before so I can tell the difference. I have never returned a product by mail before but I just don’t want to use it anymore.

I’m a very active, 27yo female who’s struggled with acne and breakouts for years and this is quite literally the only product that has ever worked for me–I recommend the entire Damascus rose line, it’s positively stellar.

This cleanser is gentle, effective, and noncomedogenic; I generally workout twice a day and can use this oil cleanser or the milk cleanser whenever needed without drying my skin. I also follow their recommendation of rinsing a face towel in hot water and laying it over your face for a slight spa/steam effect—it’s my favorite part of my am routine.

My skin has never looked better. Can’t praise this stuff enough.

I’ve tried various cleansing oils and wanted a new one to take on holiday. Package is fab and you can lock the plunger and pop it back in for travelling. That worked really well. Does it work? Absolutely! I wear makeup and waterproof mascara and it takes it off beautifully, without stripping your skin.

Feels fantastic and I would definitely recommend. Sometimes when it’s a new product for you, you have to cross your fingers that it does what it says. but rest assured, it does. Fabulous product ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Love this! I use this as my first cleanse in my double cleanser routine. This to remove makeup and sunscreen. It works really well, it does what it needs to without stripping my skin. My skin actually feels hydrated and soft after using this.

I also love how gentle it is. I don’t wear a full face of makeup, I normally do eyebrows, mascara, and lip. And it takes it off with ease. I must add the caveat that my makeup is clean makeup (ilia) so it’s not waterproof or anything of that sort.

But I have used waterproof mascara before and it removes that as well. You just need to work it a little longer. And my lips are usually a red or nudish red – yep it gets that too. Seriously the best, and I haven’t found anything this good that’s also not hurting our planet.

I’ve used this as my body wash during many season for the last 15 years. When I’ve changed to a different product my skin hasn’t felt as nourished as with the XeraCalm cleansing oil. I’m completely satisfied with how clean-soft-healthy my skin feels when using it.

I confess that I’ve never liked applying body lotions, creams or oils. For me that’s never worked and I always end up sweating & transferring lotions/oils into my clothes. Therefore, many years ago I began searching for a shower cleanser that could deeply hydrate my skin.

Initially that’s why I bought it; to skip the moisturizing step after showering. Little did I know that (at least for me) it was going to be effective in all types of climates. It has protected my skin while experiencing harsh below cero winters, during excruciating humid periods, when I was living in a dessert-dry city; literally in every continent that I’ve lived.

Sometimes I use it also as a facial wash and I’m also satisfied with its effects because it doesn’t leave my skin oily or “squeaky-clean”, it just has the right balance. It has never clogged my pores and it feels luxurious.

A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with cancer, began chemotherapy and immunotherapy simultaneously. The oncologists emphasized that I had to maintain my skin really moisturized to avoid small cuts that could lead to infection.

That’s when this cleansing oil was really put to the test. I kept using it and my skin never got cracked or extremely dry, even while being both on chemo and inmmunotherapies. And as you guess it I didn’t use any body moisturizer.

The only thing that I did was change the shower filter more often than before the cancer diagnose. This product is not sold where I’m currently living. You have no idea how grateful I am that LovelySkin continues to have it on stock, even during the pandemic, and I was allow to obtain it during the last two years.

The fact that it comes in a pump bottle was really relevant in this season of my life because it ensured that I would only touch the amount of oil to be used. Worth every penny!.

I’ve really been enjoying this cleanser, I use it as my nightly cleanser and it leaves my skin feeling fresh! There is no tightness after it’s rinsed off, just overall an enjoyable product. I’ve only been using for a week and a half, and also have other products I’m using so I can’t speak to what is causing the best results in my skin-but there is a definite difference in the texture and brightness of my skin.

With that being said, I need to pay closer attention to the product size as I feel you don’t get much product for the price. As much as I enjoy this product I’m not 100% sure I’ll purchase again, depends on how long this initial bottle lasts.

A little does seem to go a long way.

I absolutely look forward to using this every morning. I love everything about this product! I love that it doesn’t strip my skin & leaves it super soft without leaving behind a film. Stumbled upon this when searching for a mild cleanser post chemical peel.

After experiencing post hyperpigmentation due to a skin reaction as a result of damaging my skin barrier I made it my mission to understand how to care for my skin. I will use this as long as it’s made that’s how much I love it! I did see in the Avene website that another cleanser oil had replaced this so that’s kind of disappointing.

Hopefully it works the same.

I’m currently on my third bottle of this cleansing oil and it has been a staple in my evening skin care routine. I find that the amount of product in the bottle is much more long lasting than the amount you get in your average cleansing balm container.

One pump of this takes off my daily makeup (sunscreen, color corrector, concealer, powder foundation, eyeshadow, brow cream, mascara, and clear brow setting gel) very easily. When I wear a full face of foundation and/or eyeliner, I usually have to use this and rinse my face twice.

I have combination, sensitive skin so I’m always sure to rinse extremely well and follow up with a cleanser to get rid of any residue. I hope they come out with a travel sized version of this soon!.

The oil does well with removing makeup; however, I tend to re-apply the oil on my eyes to thoroughly melt away the mascara and eyeliner. Unfortunately, the oil stings a lot, so I have to keep my eyes closed and to be mindful when opening them.

The oil has a strong fragrance, so if you have eczema, sensitivity, or fragrance allergies, please be careful. I wouldn’t recommend this product to you. For the price, I don’t think it’s that bad of a product: however, I used AmorePacific’s oil cleanser before trying Burt’s Bees, and AmorePacific’s successfully melts my makeup with one pump and doesn’t sting my eyes.

It also has a lighter consistency compared to Burt’s Bees.

The name of this cleansing oil is a bit of a mouthful, but it delivers so beautifully that I don’t care if it has 67 words in the title, I’d still saunter into Kiehls and embarrass myself with a babble of mispronunciation.

As you can tell from the first few words, spoiler alert, I LOVE THIS STUFF! The website says it’s a lightweight oil that emulsifies with water to gently melt away all traces of dirt, makeup, sunscreen etc.

and is suitable for face and eyes. Having delicate skin around the eye area, I can attest to this. It does indeed remove every last trace of whatever is sitting on the skin, without leaving me looking like I just watched an episode of Lassie when he couldn’t rescue the boy from the well (just me? Ok!) However, it’s not the cheapest of cleansers so I’d tend to use as a second cleanse or morning cleanse–it’s a bit too lush just to scrub off flaky mascara.

It has a beautiful texture and when massaged into the skin, breaks down every last bit of makeup and sunscreen. It transforms any skin that feels a bit parched or tight, to soft and supple. When used as a second cleanse, it feels like a real treat on the skin and leaves your face ready to absorb any serums, oils or creams.

Don’t be afraid to use this if you have oily skin, it actually helps to remove excess sebum, in my case my t-zone, leave it feeling balanced, while hydrating my cheeks that at times, cry out for some moisture.

What’s great about it? Lightweight Gentle, Leaves skin soft and supple, Non-comedogenic so won’t clog pores, suitable for sensitive eyes, smells divine What’s not so great? Personally speaking, nothing.

However, a bit more expensive than some cleansers but worth it if you can spare the cash. Use a cheaper cleanser to remove your make up and this beauty to soothe, clean and hydrate your skin. Follow up with your favorite water base cleanser in preparation for you night routine.

I use this product when I have spent the day in the city or I have applied makeup. It is an essential item in a double cleansing routine. It is great for removing the dirt and impurities from my face, before I move onto my salicylic acid cleanser to attend to my personal skin needs! My skin is oily but I find the oil cleanser actually helps this more than a normal cleanser.

It did make me break out very slightly the first week, but this is a normal process, as my skin wasn’t used to such a deep clean. I wouldn’t use this product on its own unless you have very dry skin with no other issues, but as I said, a perfect addition before your normal cleanser.

I’ve been proselytizing this product for months to all my friends and family in Kuwait and the States. It’s such an incredible product primarily because almost half of it is comprised of sunflower seed oil which is one of the BEST oils to put on your skin as it contains a very high amount of Vitamin E.

Vitamin E is effective for combatting skincare issues like acne, inflammation, general redness and irritation of the skin. Sunflower seed oil doesn’t have the best smell in the world but Clarins did such a good job of masking it with a subtle, citrus, floral scent that’s not overpowering at all.

It also washes off really easily and leaves your skin feeling calm and soft. Seriously can’t recommend this product highly enough. I have sensitive, rosacea-prone skin and I use it all the time! I use it in the AM as my only cleanser and the PM as a first cleanse.

Leaves my skin feeling soft and really removes all make up including all of my mascara. It smells lovely too. I think Clarins have a problem because a lot of people get very disappointed when their beloved products get discontinued and they seem to take very strongly against the replacement.

So you get lots of one star reviews from those people and lots of five stars from people like me that never used the previous product (or didn’t like it). But everyone is changing their formulations due to environmental concerns, etc and change is inevitable.

What is can say is that if you aren’t someone who loved the melt cleanser and are coming to this one fresh. well, I highly recommend it and love that way it cleanses my skin and makes it feel so fresh and soft.

I’ve tried a variety of anti acne cleaners (no results for me) and have really only seen benefit from my retinol moisturizer to resolve the acne (10/10 use a retinol for your acne y’all.

It’s better than everything else I’ve ever tried). Until this came into my life. I’ve been using it for about 5-6 weeks and my skin is so so happy. I just finished my period and didn’t get a major breakout.

Just a couple *tiny* pimples that went away within like 12 hours of getting them. My skincare routine is literally so simple now: use this to cleanse at night, put on retinol moisturizer (I use the Neutrogena retinol SA fragrance free).

In the morning I splash my face with water, sometimes use my Mad Hippie vitamin c serum, and then put on a bunch of Soon Jung sunscreen (it’s thick and hydrating enough for the warmer months; I’ll need something more when it gets colder.

It’s also got a pretty strong white cast but I’ve found that it disappears after a few minutes of applying). Obviously everyone’s skincare needs are different, but I’d say if you have persistent breakouts due to dry, irritated skin, maybe give this cleanser a go.

It was the last fix in my routine that finally works.

Week 8 approached and I had white heads, blackheads, chin breakouts ( those really intense cluster breakouts), breakouts on my eyebrows and in between, Light breakouts on my cheeks, a huge whitehead on my nose, dull skin, breakouts all around my upper lip and under my lower lip, breakouts on my neck by my lower earlobes, breakouts on my neck.

I have not broke out this badly since I was in High School 12+ years ago I am now approaching 30. I have not seen my skin this bad in many years. I Love Skincare, I even completed Esthetician School at the top of my class.

I know my way around skincare. This was the worst experience i have ever had. I have tried Dermalogica, Tula, Bare Minerals, Kate Sommerville, Glossier, Lush, and more and never experienced anything like this.

The worst brands I have tried is Clean and Clear and Neutrogena in my youth and Proactive. I Put Mad Hippie on that list just below Neutrogena and the top worst being Proactive because it gave my skin a chemical burn.

Hey Everyone, Hope everyone is having a good Independence Day. I have absolutely nothing to do except write this review. Hopefully, everyone else is having a better day, than I. I was a pedestrian (hit and run incident).

So…I’m left with right hand and most of my right side mobility. My movement isn’t great. I was in hospitals and rehabs for over 4 mos. I was excited just to get out the rehabs, right now. This cleanser and osea are the best I’ve tried.

I love Josie Maran products. Having sensitive, rosacea, and milia this product is a dream. I also have her face wipes that I use a lot. Being disabled, now. I had to relearn everything, even skincare.

Self love is so Important. If I’m not washing I’m wiping my face with the wipes. My skin has not been angry, since I tried this product. Moisturize heavily after serums etc.

So this product says to apply a couple squirts with dry hands and face. If you like applying Elmer’s glue directly to your face and trying to spread it then it’s just like this product. It’s sticky and thick and needs just a drop or two of water to help it glide properly.

The smell is supposed to be pineapple. I smell more of a tropical fruit punch koolaide scent. It’s not terrible, but there is too much of it. If you’re okay with those two things then it works well otherwise.

Makeup and grime come off easily, and it leaves no residue afterwards.

This stuff is awesome! First of all it feels so good going onto my skin as I apply it. I also like to gently massage it into my face to get the blood flowing. It feels so good and it is great at getting off all the make up and dirt from the day.

It is one of two of my favorite cleansers…I alternate between using the CT Lipid defense and the cleansing balm by BC. They’re both fabulous! I look forward to washing my face! On a sidenote, I recently began going to get facials by an aesthetician in my town.

At my initial consult she asked me what products I was using and I told her I was using the countertime collection by beauty counter. She laughed and said well for a 59 year old woman your skin is amazing and normally I would try to sell you products that I have here but whatever you’re using is doing a great job so I would suggest that you stick with it! I highly recommend Beautycounter!.

I have used a range of cleansers from cheap to expensive but I have always loved the idea of cleansing oils. I had been searching for one that worked as well as my favorite cleansing oil which had been discontinued.

They all fell short for one reason or another until I discovered this one. It doesn’t irritate my eyes which is huge as some of them really do and when I rinse it off my skin feels moisturized and clean.

It doesn’t leave a residue and its not heavy. And a little goes a long way. I absolutely love this cleanser and I have purchased it for several people who share my love of this product!.

This cleanser is the perfect addition to my morning and evening routine. It’s nothing short of amazing. Love the smell and the feel. It easily removes my eye makeup even when I’m using waterproof mascara.

No need for a second step. I was hesitant to try an oil based cleanser because I couldn’t imagine that it would actually cleanse the skin like it does. It lathers so nicely once you add water and makes my skin feel clean without feeling stripped.

I won’t be washing my face with anything else ever again.

I like using oil cleansers before the foaming cleanser because it removesthe oils products better it really takes off the grime, makeup and sunscreen very well. I first rub it between my hands to warm it up, then put it on my face and continue with circle movements.

All the dirt, máscara, shadow, blushes takes off very well. While I use it I feel it quite relaxing, it’s a nice texture. With a very very subtle fragance to olive oil but not annoying at all. And its very easy to wash it off with water (it turns into a sort of milky texture) because it leaves no residue at all unlike some other cleansing oils.

And the result is a clean refreshed face ready for next step, water cleanser. Also like that I have no breakouts after using it. And it’s cheaper than other cleansers. You can buy refills which is also interesting.

his stuff! One pump, rub it between my hands to warm it up, and gently apply it to my face like an iron press and I can ALREADY see my makeup melting off. It is crazy how effective this is! I have cleansed with oils before when I used the oil cleansing method years ago so it felt rather good to return back to those days.

The oil doesn’t have a fragrance and seems to utilize olive oil as its main ingredient/what it is based off of and it definitely matches the consistency of olive oil, albeit, a tad lighter in viscosity.

Watching my eyeliner melt right off my eyes is pretty awesome, but the real magic comes when I close my eyes and literally feel my mascara crust off my lashes and dissolve against the gentle rubbing of my fingertips.

Mascara is notoriously difficult for a lot of makeup removers, especially of the wet kind, out there to handle so to rid it so easily is refreshing.

I have extremely dry skin to the point that it will flake off, even in the summer. Oil cleansers are more gentle on my skin than foaming cleanser generally, but even those can be too drying. Every other oil cleanser I’ve tried has been a bit too drying for me, but this one doesn’t irritate or dry out my skin at all! My second favorite one is the Purito one, but that is a bit more drying.

Since this is cheaper and better, I don’t see the point of buying anything else though. I double cleanse with this now and it works perfectly, but even when I used to use it as my only cleanser it worked perfectly and washed off quickly without leaving behind any residue.

The other cleansing balms/oils I’ve tried aside from this and the Purito one all felt like I needed to follow up with a second cleanser, but this is perfect.

I received it in a large gift set on Christmas 2020. Since then, it became my favourite daily companion. I use it in winter to protect my skin from harsh temperatures and in summer, after sunbathing to soothe my skin and nourish my hair.

I’ve gone through 5 bottles and will continue using it for as long as it’s available. It is subtly perfumed, absorbs well and I love mixing it with another favourite of mine Green Tea Body Cream by Arden.

I also often use it as a therapy for my nails and cuticles after weeks of wearing nail varnish. The oil doesn’t leave sticky residue which is a big plus. I can’t recommend it enough, once you try it, you’ll become addicted.

I was hesitant to use an oil on my face as my skin can become quite oily. Wow, how wrong I was. My skin has never felt as soft, without any oiliness or residue. My skin glowed but was still quite matte.

I only needed a few drops, my sample has lasted me 2 weeks applying daily after cleansing and before make up. My make up foundation applied beautifully and stayed on all day. I have just about enough left for 2 days use on my face, I’ll definitely be buying this product to use as part of my daily routine.

I purchased directly from Arden because they had 20% off and free shipping. I purchased 5 bottles. The reviews are true and accurate. Upon initial application it feels like oil on your face and body but absorbs so quickly.

I bought 5 bottles because the size is small and because I want to use all over my body, especially my decollete. After 2 uses on my decollete, I noticed the creases from sleeping on my side were extremely diminished.

It must be because it’s an 8-hour moisturizer? Super happy.

There are some good reasons to love this product: 1) it cleanses skin deeply and super gently; 2) it helped me to get rid of black heads which was an unexpected surprise, I guess because it cleanses really well; 3) no need to moisturise your face after washing; 4) makes my life easier as I use it to clean my makeup brushes and it works great; 5) no need to use something else to wash the makeup; 6) super affordable price.

Highly recommend, though you have to put some more effort than usually when you are actually washing your face as it’s an oil🙂.

Was in the market for a new face cleanser and knew I wanted to use an oil based cleanser because I have dry skin. This one superseded my expectations! It took minimal effort to remove everything, including eye makeup.

(I typically wear eyeshadow, waterproof eyeliner, and the Better than Sex mascara; Fenty Foundation, Nars/LA Girl concealer with setting powder. ) Did not have to do any scrubbing, just a gentle rub with my bare hands and it washed off very easily with water.

Left my face feeling moisturized but not too greasy. I have sensitive skin and had no reactions. A little went a long way and the scent was not not overpowering. I compared the cost to other brands and this one had a good price point.

I use this cleansing oil as my first cleanse as it works well at loosening my makeup including mascara and my sunscreen without drying out my face or having to rub rub rub my face. I have used this as the 2nd cleanser also but usually use another cleanser.

This seems to take off my makeup better than other cleansers alone. I tried using a toner afterwards and was surprised to not get much on the cotton round. Much better than other cleansers alone. I have watched youtubers talk about other more expensive cleansing oil but why do you need it.

Palmers works great and has good ingredients. It does what I need it to do and My face feels good afterwards.
