20 Best Oil For Hair Damage (2022 Updated)

I bought this because a hair oil I used for years stopped being sold, and I used to love Moroccan oil in high school. I have very long hair (it’s at the small of my back and I’m 5’7″). It’s kind of a light-brown/dark-blonde with a hint of red, moderately dense, but the individual hairs are mostly fine and prone to both dry ends and oily mid-lengths.

I always use a curl cream and a hair oil to bring out my waves and keep it soft. My last oil treatment had water as the first ingredient and my hair absolutely loved it. What I liked: A little goes a very long way.

Tipping the bottle quickly to coat my fingertip was enough for my wet hair (plus a bit less on the ends when dry). It smells amazing, definitely lived up to my memory of that dreamy Moroccan oil smell.

As soon as I applied it, my hair felt wonderfully silky and easy to run my fingers through. After I let it air dry as usual, my mid-lengths were very soft, and even the dead ends felt a little nicer to touch (I really needed a haircut when I tried it).

The shine is absolutely incredible! It was glossy all the way to the ends, and didn’t make my mid-lengths stringy/oily looking (I use Sebastian dark oil now, and need to be a lot more careful with how much I apply or it gets stringy).

I got so many compliments on how shiny my hair was the next day. What I didn’t like: The first use was amazing, but after i used it for a couple weeks my hair started to feel heavy and hung straighter.

It was still shiny, but looked less full and the ends were getting more dry over time. Ultimately, I think having silicone as a first ingredient makes hair oils too heavy for me (though I’ve yet to find another with water first).

I consider this to be more like “hair makeup”. If I was going to an event I would 100% use again for the amazing glossy look and intoxicating smell. It doesn’t really make hair healthier or moisturized though, so be cautious if you plan to use it after every wash.

Definitely need a good clarifying shampoo.

The density of my hair has changed throughout the years, from the hair fibres being quite strong to becoming weak and fragile, breaking easily, becoming frizzy and fine in texture. I believe that the changes are due to Hormonal Imbalances, specifically Thyroid and Menopause.

My hair has always been ‘very’ long (I could nearly sit on it), and I’ve always taken extremely good care of it using quality products, doing regular oil treatments and having regular haircuts to keep it looking it’s best.

However, for about the last three years I’ve noticed that it has become finer and does not hold a style anymore. I struggle to get the balance right with any of my hair products, as none of them help with giving me back my shiny, healthy looking head of hair! I’ve been using Argan oil amongst other oils for a number of years now, but they are all now far too heavy for my hair making it look either too oily, dull or just making it drier.

I have been very close (. actually extremely, especially during lockdown) to having all of my hair cut off to start again. The only reason I didn’t go for the big chop, is that on reflection if my hair is also fine at the roots, then the length of it wouldn’t really make any difference as it’s the health of the hair that will give it it’s shape and shine.

So my quest continued to find a product that would make it look and feel healthy and shiny again. I also believe that it’s not because a product is expensive it will make a difference, it’s all about the ingredients and getting that balance right for your particular hair type or concern that can present a challenge, whether you buy a budget or premium product or not.

I’m also a believer in using ‘natural products’, and look for products which contain as less ingredients as possible, as well as any harmful substances. This is where I would now like to tell you how the Moroccanoil LIGHT oil treatment for fine and light coloured hair has made such a difference to my hair, that I now know when I wash my hair and leave it to Air Dry after applying approximately six drops of oil ( which is what I have been doing for a while now as ‘heat’ willl damage it further) that my hair will be softer, less frizzy and shinier! I can honestly say that this product is a ‘godsend’ and I could not live without it.

If used correctly, I promise you that if you have hair like mine, frizzy, fine, lack lustre, it could make such a difference to your hair that you will not believe. and it comes at an affordable price.

So, many of us are familiar with the Oribe brand–Meghan Markle swears by their perfume, their shampoo is legendary, and the brand, packaging, and product quality just exude luxuriousness. I’ve actually never bought anything from Oribe, because it’s been a little out of my price range for the amount of product you get, but after using this oil and seeing the literal immediate change in my hair, I’m a believer and I will 100% buy this when I run out–it’s that good.

I have dry, allover bleached blonde hair, and I don’t typically use a lot of product because it’s fine and gets weighed down/greasy easily if I’m not careful with where I apply product/what’s in it. That being said, this silky oil is extremely lightweight and I don’t have any problems with it making my hair greasy or weighing it down–seriously! It smells amazing, too, but it’s not overpowering or obnoxious; just light, a little citrus-y/floral-y? I followed the directions on the bottle/box and applied to my roots while damp, then to my ends after blow-drying, and frankly, I look like I got a professional blowout because of how smooth, shiny, and silky my hair looks.

In my opinion, this oil doubles as a heat protectant and detangler (although I don’t think Oribe claims that) in addition to a nourishing leave-in treatment. All in all, I’m blown away (no pun intended) by this product, and would highly recommend it to anyone who heat styles–whether your hair is fine, thick, color-treated, virgin, curly, straight.

I think this oil can be used by just about anyone, and the amount you get for the price is very reasonable.

This is one of my fav hair oils. I find this perfect for any hair type. I have this at home aswell as use it in salon where I work. All oribe products are designed to be layered on top of each other without giving any residue providing the correct amount has been used.

If you get a residue you have used too much. I like using this in wet hair after applying the supershine moisturiser then again once I’ve blow dried it straightened to smooth the ends more. It makes the hair smell amazing and so silky.

All oribe products are highly concentrated so only a little amount needs to be used. If you don’t find it’s doing anything use a little more.

First, let’s talk initially how gorgeous this packaging is because I think we need to take a moment to appreciate it 😍 Initially as I opened the product the entire cap came off and I was wondering how to properly apply this product.

I had no idea there was actually a pump because it’s hard to tell and you end up taking the entire cap off. After reading other reviews apparently I’m not the only one this has happened too. Not sure why that happens but it is alittle off putting however if you just pull up on the cap a pump is included for the product to be dispensed, I absolutely love the smell! It smells so good and is heavily scented if that’s not your thing.

I used this on my hair two different ways. I applied it to mostly the ends when it was wet after a shower which I didn’t really like the way it made my hair feel. It didn’t feel like it was absorbing into my hair.

I also used it dry on the ends and to help flyaways stay down as it was dry and I was blow drying and straightening. I didn’t notice any long term improvement to my hair after using this product but it does smell amazing and keep my frizz at bay.

I have curly hair with lots of damage and I definitely need a good oil. I prefer a leave in conditioner but I definitely think a oil has a place in a hair care routine as well. For the price I probably wouldn’t repurchase this product but I definitely want to try other products from this company.

Overall the product smells amazing and does do a great job at keeping frizz away and taking the fly aways.

I’ve only heard good things about this hair oil so when the chance came to test it out for myself, I jumped at the opportunity. In the process of trying this, I think I may have found a new favorite hair oil! I can’t believe I never used it before.

I have thick, wavy/curly porous hair that drinks up moisture like it is its job, and frizzes up at the first sign of humidity. Finding a hair oil that is both nourishing but not greasy is tough. This hair oil is very runny and lightweight, but don’t let that fool you—it does a great job of smoothing, adding luster, and adding nutrients to the follicle (without silicones!).

Smells amazing too. I just wish this came in a bigger size, the bottle is rather small! If you are a curly girl or have dry or damaged hair, this one is for you! You won’t regret trying it. *gifted for the purposes of review.

Love this Argan oil! I haven’t used it in years, but I loved it so much when I used it! It smells amazing as well! It’s a little on the heavy side for me to use as a heat protectant but perfect to add some shine and run a few drops through your hair! If you’re wearing your hair curly snd using this, then only you will need about 7 drops to run through your hair depending on length! If you’re wearing your hair straight you only need a couple of drops to run through your hair!.

Dont have to but i first spray my hair section with water , rose water or gold cre free curl you can use any spray u like then put a small amount coin size blob and smooth through hair especially ends then plat it in sections put scar on to sleep.

Open hair next day or simply plat the sections again spraying each section then using oil treat ment i do about 15 plats in my afro natural hair this grows the hair and stops ends from breakijng. Seriously good treatment.

Never bothered to review a hair product but this one I had to. Absolutely so happy to have found the Verb products. THIS was the finishing touch! I just moved to Florida and with thin, fine curly hair the humidity has been terrible to deal with.

I apply this AFTER shampoo and conditioner, and I have not found it to be heavy at all. For the first time in a very long time, years, I was able to wear my hair natural without Frizz. These have made my hair so soft. I usually only mess in my hair once a week. I’ve use it for the last 2 months. First I wet my hair and make sure to have a good water+leave-in mixture. On my scalp goes the Sephora BTNPHY hair oil and The Ordinary hair oil.

Rub that in nice and well. Then on the hair shaft goes the VERB oil and – hear me out- The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid. Saw it on a tiktok and thought “why not?”, the worst thing that can happen is my hair gets more damaged and I get to cut my hair again.

After the first time, I thought it was stupid. But nothing is an instant cure. Things take time. Even when my hair is dry, its super soft and didn’t tangle as much. My curls were not as frizzy as they usually are.

My hair is really dry and thick and Florida’s weather just makes it worse. I found out about Philip B Rejuvenating Oil in 2019, I usually apply on dry hair one day before washing it. The results are amazing, it hydrates my hair and on top of it the oil has a very nice smell.

Once there was a problem with delivery and I contacted customer service and they immediately sent the product again, free of charge. I do recommend this product.

This is a very good product. I blow dry five days a week and this spray is wonderful. It does not weigh down. I have fine hair, relatively thick and it makes my hair smooth after a blow dry. Before using this my hair was frizzy and puffed out after drying, but not now.

Its smooth, glossy and smells heavenly! I use it on damp hair, my hair is just below shoulder length and I spritz about six times before I dry. I also use it when I air dry and it makes my waves smooth and fragrant.

I have been so depressed from losing my hair due to a medication I have recently stopped taking. I have tried a multitude of products from many lines, but this oil – Philip B Rejuvenating Oil – has helped me tenfold! My hair became lifeless, dull and thinning – damaged-looking.

Although not pure but does a great job on hair. Don’t use it with hot irons but by itself, it can take the frizz out. Hair feels hydrated and soft. It works great for people who have less tolerance or allergy to silicone.

Overall, it is a great product if you air dry your hair or don’t use any iron unless you add another heat protectant product.

I had my doubts before ordering this product because I have frizzy, curly, and dry hair and thought it might weigh my hair down. As long as you use the oil sparingly, as indicated (I used a tad too much the first time), it works great! I love the barely there scent too because I avoid heavily scented products.

It keeps my hair looking natural but more in control. I would also like to applaud this company for their packaging skills. You never have to worry about something being damaged because they pack items so well.

I have long gray hair. it is very fine. I use this argan oil on the last 3 inches after a shower. Then I add more to the ends a couple of days later and continue doing so until I wash it again and start all over.

I have always had seemingly unmanageable frizzy hair, but this oil makes my curls look defined, shiny and soft. After using it for a while I decided to put some of the oil in a little spray bottle with water so I can shake it up and spritz it onto my hair as opposed to rubbing it in because my curls would pull out and I wouldn’t get the definition I like.

That has worked wonderfully. This is the best hair oil I’ve used. Love it!.

This hair oil is super affordable and a little goes a long way. I have super long hair and I was able to coat the entire length of my hair with very little oil. There isn’t much of a scent, which I don’t mind.

I love this product. Its very resonable, smells AMAZING, keeps my hair moisturized and really helps growth. How i see it is that while my braids are in i use this twice a day along with my aunt jackies flaxseed and monoi and lisssssssennnn its amazing.

This product has wonderful oils, but the scent is hard to take. I would not purchase again.
