20 Best Oil For Hair Repair (2022 Updated)

To start, my hair is wavy-to-curly, fine textured, past-shoulder-length, and not color treated. Sometimes I straighten it and sometimes I wear it curly. I have used Kérastase products before, specifically Oléo-Relax Advanced Hair Oil for Frizzy Hair, and I liked the quality and long-lasting effects.

Since I stopped dyeing and heat-styling my hair, I have been looking for products that will nourish my hair and keep the strands intact. I also prefer styling products to add a bit of weight, since my hair is fine and prone to fly-aways.

This oil is more lightweight than I was expecting. The product indicates that you can use it at almost any point in your hair care process, so it’s hard to know which way you should use it to achieve optimal results.

Since argan oil provides a smoother, more weighted effect on my curly hair, I prefer to use this oil for scalp treatment instead.

My hair has become stronger and softer since I started using this product. Even my scalp is reaping the benefits! I don’t have the breakage that I used to have. This Kerastase Curl Manifesto is so easy to use that there is no wrong way to use it.

It can be applied before washing for nourishment and detangling or it can be applied after washing as a leave in conditioner. This beauty product will be on my must-have list from here on out. It has improved my hair and scalp and such a short time.

I’ve never used another product that has even come close. I can’t sing this products praises enough!.

This is the lightest heat protector I’ve used. My hair is very thin, seems to get thinner every day. Breaking off, dry, damaged, highlights, curly and thin. Most heat protectants make my hair feel like there’s something in it, which makes me feel like I need to wash it again.

which kinda adds even more damage because I’ve been trying to just wash 2-3x/week because I use the blow dryer brush then straightening iron afterwards to reduce frizz. My hair is seriously in bad shape lately so I’m glad I found a lightweight heat protector.

It’s so light part of me wonders if I’m using enough. I hope it helps with the fried hair. To dispense it, I just turn the bottle over and tap the bottom A small drop comes out, and I use between 15-25 drops each time.

The instructions say to use “a metered drop” but I don’t feel like that’s enough even though my hair is super thin, and shoulder length. Maybe I’m wrong, I’d love some feedback on how many drops everyone uses and I would also love to know like.

how heat protectors work. Obviously it can’t reduce all the damage. but, maybe how much % less damage do you get when you use this? I like it because it’s lightweight and you’d have to spend a lot of time getting too much out, so I don’t run the risk of using too much product, because I have a bad habit of that since my hair is in such bad shape.

I’m always trying to add more products to make it “appear” healthier. I also use the #3 and I really like that. About to purchase my 2nd bottle of that along with the primer and hopefully it will help my hair out.

This is a small bottle but it will DEFINITELY last me probably close to a year. maybe a little less, but close, so it seems worth it to me. Adds a pretty shine, doesn’t help my flyaways much, I guess I just have too many at the current moment :(.

I’m so in love with this oil I’ve been buying it as gifts for friends and family! It’s almost a dry oil it’s so lightweight, but very very effective at smoothing hair and eliminating frizz, I have thick hair but don’t usually get on well with oils, often ending up greasy looking even when applying as little as possible, very frustrating when you’ve just done your hair! I suffer from poor health which has led to me spending several months in hospital over the last few years, and my hair certainly showed the damage to my overall wellbeing – in fact I had to have a huge chunk cut off because it was just a ball of tangled, broken strands.

Since I began using this I’ve noticed a massive difference, it’s almost like my hair has been laminated, it remains perfectly straight after blow drying and straightening, and is so silky that I could honestly go a few days without brushing it and it wouldn’t have any tangles at all, brilliant for me as my disability makes haircare difficult for me to do alone.

The texture of my hair is so soft even several days after washing, not greasy, just lovely satiny strands! My mum raves about this too now that I’ve introduced her to it, she has naturally very curly but fine hair, which equals major frizz as she lives in a hot and humid climate, she has also noticed how this oil keeps your hair behaving itself for days, even when it’s been abused through blow drying and straightening.

It lasts forever too since it’s so concentrated, I’m on the same bottle used for the last 8 months and there’s about 3/4 left! Definitely worth the price, given that it functions as heat protection, anti frizz, nourishing treatment, and shine perfecting, I don’t see the need to add any other products to my post wash regime!.

After constantly struggling with extremely dry, damaged hair I decided to try Olaplex and although the other products in this line weren’t magical, this oil is. I’ve tried several ways to help bring my hair back to life and was about to give up.

I cut my hair up to my shoulders from about armpit length ( my hair also barely grows due to breakage) and purchased the olaplex No 7, and the Kerastase resistance Shampoo and Conditioner designed for damaged weak hair.

I wash my hair every other day or sometimes skip 2 days before shampooing and just rinse and condition my hair on my between days. After my shower I put 2 shakes of this oil in my hair when it is still pretty damp but not soaking wet and finger comb my hair.

Then in the morning when my hair is completely dry I add one or two more shakes into my palms, rub my hands together, and run my fingers throughout my hair and then pretend I’m doing a pony tail to really coat the top layer of my hair.

This oil smells really good with a light scent and is very lightweight so I think it would be difficult to over do it but I’d still recommend starting small until you know your perfect amount for your own hair type and length.

My hair feels extremely soft and healthy ( I know the haircut helped a ton with that ) but even the top of my hair feels amazing and no longer dry from breakage due to blow drying and straightening. If you only wanna try 1 thing from Olaplex try this product first.

I think personally it’s the best of all their products and will last you a VERY long time so it is well worth the almost $30. Also try Kerastase if you are really struggling with your hair! Much love, Sam.

I know everyone’s hair is different – mine is 2a-ish wavy, gray/white, no color or other chem treatments. Medium density and thickness, shoulder length. I only blow dry about once a month since pandemic but did dry, straighten regularly before.

I recently cut off 3 inches so ends are pretty healthy now but I was using on my longer hair as well. I have found lots of great hair oils/serums that work intermittently for me – great example is Ouia hair oil, the first time I got a sample of that, I thought I had hit the jackpot – wonderful smell, silky hair like I’ve never had outside of salon visits, but then it just stopped working for me after a couple weeks.

I’m not going to speculate too much since I’m not a chemist, but my suspicion is that my hit or miss results with other oils have to do with build up on my hair either from that product or my other products (shampoo, cond, etc) Briogeo hair oil has been working nicely for 3+ months.

I also switched to sulfate free/silicone free in all of my products so that might factor in. A little goes a very long way – I literally tip the bottle over into my palm twice, rub my hands together until they are warm and then smooth only from the ears down.

I only use it on completely dry hair. It’s a godsend for day 2/3 hair when it’s just a mess. Makes my hair feel silky, look less ‘fluffy’ and smooths down the fly-aways. There’s not much smell in my hair even right after I’ve applied and especially not later in the day or even next day.

For the first time, I’m EXCITED to write a review!! I need to start by talking about my hair. I have longer (about 5 inches below my shoulders), thick, fine hair. Because of this, most hair products leave my hair greasy, limp, lifeless and feeling dirty.

Typically, I use a color protection shampoo & conditioner, and the tiniest amount of a leave in treatment (think smaller than the size of a chap stick cap) and only on the ends. I usually let my air dry the majority of the way, and use a blow dryer the rest of the way.

I do use a flat iron or curling iron 3-4 days a week. I’ve been working on growing my hair out so I can donate it, and I have about an inch to an inch and a half left to go before I can cut it. Because of that, my ends have been looking less than their best.

I’ve tried several different products and nothing made them look better and just ended up making my hair look dirty. When I found this product, I hesitated because of the higher price tag. But because I received the “Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Hair Mask” as a freebie from Ulta during my birth month and LOVED it, I figured I would try it.

And with Ulta’s return policy, I figured I had nothing to lose. I wish I had found this product earlier! The scent is incredibly light, but dissipates quickly once in the hair. I put a few drops in the palm of my hand (few drops did wonders) and smoothed the product from the area where my ponytail sits down to my ends on towel dried hair and combed it through.

Initially, my hair felt “heavy” and weighted down as most oils do, and I figured this would be another dud for me. But as my hair dried, the heaviness went away. Once I dried and styled it, I was shocked how soft my ends were.

Even my husband commented how my hair looked different and felt amazing. I’ve used this almost every day for the past week and a half and my hair still looks amazing. It’s never looked greasy or dull.

It’s still so soft and the ends look less and less damaged. This is absolutely a product that will stay in my rotation. I’m not sure what the dried flower in the bottle is there for, but it makes it pretty at least.

I have very dry old age processed hair, and use cuticle oil or suntan oil or coconut oil just to tame it but sometimes it’s too much. This has a soft scent that fades quickly but faintly lingers and makes my hair look natural.

It isn’t fly away, frizzy, or brittle. It lays beautifully and will smooth any curls to a beautiful bounce. But don’t use high heat from blow dryer or iron until well after it’s naturally dried or nearly dry from a microfiber hair genie.

Other wise it may smoke and set off smoke alarms. Lol. I love it. Will buy again.

I’ve been using this product occasionally for hot oil treatments to combat my medicine induced alopecia and it has helped so much with my shedding and breakage. A little goes a long way so you don’t need very much of it to get the job done.

If you are worried about scent, the smell is not very over powering, and actually rather pleasant coming from someone with an overly sensitive nose. There is a reason almost all of my hair care comes from The Mane Choice.

I have use a few different Mane Choice products. I’m exploring them all. Currently I was driven to this one for damaged hair. I have a really coarse spot of hair that I cant seem to keep moisturized.

I’ve been using this oil, leave in conditioner and deep conditioning mask, and the shampoo, Oh and scalp oil. I’ve found this oil is better and seems to penetrate more than the other oil that is for moisturizing.

It’s a bit heavier and penetrates better. My hair sucks product like a desert. Thus, this one holds up better over time. I still have to add oil/moisturizer every day but the condition of my hair is much softer and less brittle, than with the other product.

I received the Khadi Rose Repair Hair Oil from Social Nature as a free sample. I only paid shipping, which was $3. 50. It was completely worth the $3. 50. As soon as I recieved the Khadi Rose Repair, I was immediately impressed by the packaging.

The directions were very easy to understand. The smell was strong but didn’t bother me at all. I washed my hair and applied the Khadi Rose Repair Oil and saw immediate results. My hair type is natural and curly and as it dried there was no signs of frizz.

My curls had formed beautifully and they were nice and shiny, but the best part was that my hair did not feel greasy. All in all, I love the Khadi Rose Repair Hair Oil and would definitely recommend this product to other.

I will also be repurchasing this product and others from the Khadi product line.

If you’re looking for an all natural oil mask treatment for your hair that needs help with frizz and strengthening against breakage, then you will want to try this product. It’s similar to a VO5 hot oil treatment.

You leave it in for as long as you can and then wash hair normally. I left it in overnight with a shower cap and rinsed it in my morning shower. It’s convenient that way. It smells herbal, but I’m glad it’s not full of chemicals.

I also added a slight amount after the shower directing toward my ends. After the treatment my hair felt softer and had much less frizz without it being super oily. Overall I’m happy with the results and will be a long time customer into the future.

I bought this to help with my daughter’s hair, and mine. For my daughter’s to help restore oils back to their hair that over working their has taken away. Ballet is wonderful, but has dried and damaged their hair.

I try I to find products that help. I have found some wonderful ones, but wanted to give this a try. You do not need much. I directly line their head with the nozzle after was day one, wash day two, to wash day 4.

Now I put a bit on my hands and make sure I put some on my finger to massage it on the scalp. Then I pair it with a leave in called Curl Mane-tenace defining curl whip. I recommend it. My oldest daughter’s scalp is healthier and my youngest daughter’s coil curls are healthier.

I went through a difficult time in my life with a lot of stress and my hair showed it. It became very dry, brittle, damaged, caused thinning because brushing it out or taking hair ties out pulled out so much each time it was so rough very much thinning out.

I was looking for a product to bring my hair back to life the goddess strength products absolutely did that for me. Just one use it was soft, manageable, not weighed down or greasy looking, looked great all the way up to the next wash.

I bought the entire system of CD goddess strength. I’m combination 3c/4a and this is what my hair needed. I give it a 10/10 after one use. Shampoo is not stripping and hydrating af! The conditioner amazing and the leave in is on another level.

I bought the oil too and it did not weigh my hair down. I’m going to take progress pics to document my journey. I hope this product doesn’t change formulas or gets discounted. I’ve tried CD products b4 but this is it.

The scent is a little strong but after you wash and it drys it’s barley noticed. Thank you so much for this gem. It’s a staple for me.

My hair is so silky soft and shiny! I also use this to finish my hair and add hydration throughout the day.

I love that it has added heat and UV protection! For those with fine hair like me it may feel heavy immediately after applying but give it a few minutes and your hair will soak it up! Highly recommend! I use in conjunction with the Lanza Keratin Healing Oil Shampoo and Conditioner and it’s incredible.

Lanza has single-handedly saved my bleached and heat damaged hair. I will use this oil for the rest of time!.

I have tried every hair oil on the market, and this one works really nicely. My hair is very fine and damaged, and my roots also get greasy really easily. I also deal with postpartum hair loss and thinning.

If you deal with those issues too, give this hair oil a try. You only need a tiny amount and it tames my fly aways and makes my hair look shiny. Plus it smells heavely. I also love how Derma-E is vegan, cruelty-free, clean ingredients, and all those good things.

I had been hesitant to try a hair oil because I was worried it would make my hair greasy. I received a sample size of this Derma E oil from Ulta and decided to give it a try. I have long straight hair, neither thick nor thin.

I used a very small amount of this oil on wet hair and it made my hair unbelievably greasy. I kept blow drying my hair wondering why it was taking so long. My hair wasn’t wet, it was greasy. I had to drown my hair in dry shampoo and put it up in a ponytail to look presentable for work.

Maybe this oil would be good for thick, course hair, but it was a nightmare for me.

When i apply it at the right time it makes my hair really healthy. I wouldn’t recommend putting it on towel-dried hair, it seems to have a hard time spreading so it made my ends stringy and caused them to take much much longer to dry.

Eventually, when it all dried it looks somewhat normal, but it takes 6-8 hours to dry.

Great product was sick and could not get out of bed for over 6 months I’ve been up now for 2 months and I use this so 8 months almost and my hair was matted to my scalp. It is taken hours for the stuff really does work and it doesn’t cause me to rip my hair out while it’s coming out of the tangles in mess would buy again.

Absolutely love this argon oil. I have long thick hair and the ends can get quite dry, brittle and split. I person only use coconut serum or Argan oil and it works best for me. This is such a great oil and leaves you hair feeling smooth & soft.

I personally didn’t see it any more or less shiny than usual, but that’s probably just my hair (it might be more shiny on others). I personally only use this on wet or damp hair & let it air dry. But it works wonders.

Will definitely buy again. I just wish I bottle was bigger, but at the same time a little goes a long way.

I love this oil. After I ran out of the Moroccan oil I started using this and it’s like it’s the same thing. I use about a dime size and rub it in my hand and run my fingers through my hair avoiding the roots.

I think it’s doing the same thing. My hair is continuing to feel and look stronger. My hair used to be so easy to break off. It’s not like that anymore I started taking care of it. I’ve always used heat protection spray I never blow dry my hair I let it air dry but I do straighten it with a hair straightener it makes it so much easier and get less knots.

Now I use a good shampoo and conditioner. I put this oil on it first and then a leave in conditioner lotion.

This hair oil works wonders. I have dry and frizzy hair and this softens them and makes them stay in place, plus it is also heat protection. I apply it on wet hair before drying and then I do the styling, the result is gorgeous.

I have very thick and strong hair and this oil is brilliant. I use the smallest drop, distribute it evenly, then dry. My hair is smoother and shiny.

I have scalp issues! Always looking for something more natural to help me out. I’ve literally only used this once because I just got it. Smells good, is not a light oil but a heavy one. I put on my finger tips and massage my scalp after drying my hair.

I’m about to put on my scalp and let soak before a wash as well! Because I use it sparingly on my scalp I did not have greasy hair.

is amazing. I got this for my edges originally because I wanted to make it thicker. This is a thick oil and I love how it smell really good. To be honest the price is reasonable and I the applicator tip great to get in those area in your hair.

Like the middle and back of your hair. Also it great for prepoo treatment and it good to stimulate the scalp.

Please be careful with this product. I did have a reaction with this oil. I followed directions as stated. Ten minutes under dryer, but during the ten minutes my I started itching and tingling. I quickly washed it out and had red patches along my hair line.

I quess it was to strong for me. That is probably not the case for everyone. If you try it, maybe start with a small test area first. It just didnt work for me.

I start by using my Pureology Strength Cure Miracle Filler Spray as a leave-in; then I apply a quarter-sized blob of the Redken Extreme Play Safe on my lengths, and lastly I add a tiny extra amount of Redken Extreme Play Safe concentrating just on the ends.

The product is very concentrated, and you only need a little bit for a great result; if your hair is sticky that means you’ve applied too much. This is one of the only products where my ends lie perfectly flat with no frizz after blow-drying (I typically let my hair air-dry at least halfway, then I use a volumizing brush on a high heat setting to finish drying and styling), usually if I want a perfect finish I have to take out my flat iron because the ends are always fuzzy, but not with this product!! My ends are healthy-looking and my lengths have body and feel clean and smooth without feeling weighed down.

I also love that it has protein! my damaged hair needs all the protein it can get. If you have long fine hair that’s colored and/or highlighted and has damage you need to check out this protective styling product, you won’t be sorry!! It does a great job of protecting your lengths from damage caused by blow-drying and other heat tools.

Het mocht van mij in een fles zitten net als de shampoo dat vindt ik mooier en ik krijg die toch beter open dan deze duwdop. Ik gebruik de shampoo voordat ik het masker gebruik, ik gebruik hem op handdoek droog haar, ik gebruik geen conditioner meer, wat mijn haar normaal wel nodig heeft.

Dit product zorgt ervoor dat mijn haar zacht wordt, ik kan het makkelijk kammen en het voelt er verzorgd uit. Ik föhn mijn haar altijd na het wassen, omdat mijn haar ook nog eens geblondeerd is kan het wel wat voeding gebruiken.

Mijn haar ziet er niet meer pluizig uit en valt mooi in model. Vaak word mijn haar vetter door een masker en dat heb ik nu niet. Mijn haar lijkt wat minder uit te vallen, het seizoen (herfst) en wat stress zijn hier de oorzaak van dit lijkt nu wat minder.

Ik vind het een fijn product wat ik een ander zeker zal aanraden en dan vooral in combinatie met de shampoo.

I’ve been using this hair treatment for years now and compared to argon oil, I find the Macadamia oil to be much lighter and helps to keep my hair healthy. I have medium length hair and just a small amount is needed.

I highly recommend this for any hair type!! This 4. 2 ounce bottle will last me for about 6 months!.

Sorry if my picture is not the best quality, for some reason the label is kinda damaged. But… this oil/serum treatment is everything. I use it when my hair is damp or dry to seal my ends, eliminate frizz and add shine.

And my hair feels very soft afterwards.

IšverstiShow in original languageI purchased this oil at the beginning of 2020 and still have about a third of it left so right off the bat, this oil lasts because a tiny pump goes a long way! I’ve got pretty thick and frizzy hair so I only use this after I’ve styled my hair and typically the first product before any hairsprays.

I do see a big difference in shine after using it and only ever use it after a fresh style (not typically after 2nd day hair). After I finish this bottle, I know I’m going to be repurchasing it. However, my only cons are that it’s pricey (but again, it lasts so long!) and the smell isn’t the most appealing.

While I’d rather have an unscented oil, this kind of smells like french fries. But, I have learned to look past the strange odor because of the consistency it’s shown thus far.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’m honestly confused why other reviewers complained of the smell. It has a light floral scent. It is not medicinal, olive-oily or putrid at all. It literally smells like a bed of flowers! I used a small pump from mid-length to ends and found that it reduced frizz and enhanced shine.

I don’t think this is for thin, straight hair. I’m wondering if there is some storage issue with Sephora that is causing this hair oil to go rancid. I actually purchased this oil (and other Rahua products) through Rahua directly (10% off on their website) and it was a seamless transaction.

FYI, I’ve purchased the Dyson Airwrap through Sephora that didn’t work properly (like the plug would fly off of the wall after using it for 10 seconds). I contacted Dyson directly who immediately sent me a new one and it works perfectly.

They suspected that Sephora was keeping their devices in a storage unit with improper temperature (something about the winters would drop to severely low temperatures and mess with the electric connection).

I highly recommend you purchase through Rahua directly if you’re interested in trying this product. I was honestly scared when I saw these 1 star reviews but I’m glad that I got it directly through them.

First out of all, do you know how hard it is to find silicon free hair product? And yes, most of the hair oil on market has silicon if not more than one type of silicon.

I’ve own ALOT of hair oil, from olaplex, kerastase,oribe, morocco oil and even sisley. They all contain silicon and yeah sure it works nice and smooth but that’s what silicon is for. Now most of them use water soluble silicon which makes it less harmful but I’ve just been really trying to stay away from silicon in hair care.

I have colored/bleached, fine long hair. I used three pumps of this on my ends and did not look like my hair was washed with olive oil. And I used a hair mask beforehand as well. Perhaps people are not warming the oil, I don’t know.

But I really love how natural and silicon free this product is. I feel safe for my hair to use this. I wish more company that does ‘clean beauty’ concept can actually be CLEAN rather than gimmicks. Also I love Rahua’s shampoo and conditioner as well.

Especially the conditioner, smooth out my hair so well and surprisingly is silicon free.

My sister gave me this oil as a gift and I love it! My hair is long, dry and untreated but damaged. This oil provides some moisture, UV protection and shine. I don’t need a great deal, a spritz over the mid length, some on my palm and worked gently through my hair.
