20 Best Oil For Kitchen Cabinets (2022 Updated)

I was looking for a polish that left a hard, shiny and non-stick finish, even slippery. I wanted one that I could use and then do work on with papers and not have the papers stick to it but easily slide on it.

And this polish does all that. For me it is almost ideal scene. But, for me it has one negative, which to me is important: It has too strong of a scent. I would have preferred unscented entirely, but I just could not find a good unscented polish that also did all the above.

I did find one unscented polish, Heirloom, and it was OK really. But I actually prefer the finish that I get from this Old English spray. But again, the scent is what keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating.

If Old English had an unscented product, hey, then we’d be in Fat City.

Small container but goes a long way. Used it for some old oak kitchen cabinets that had some deep scratches. It covers up most of the scratches though deep gashes were still slightly visible. The color seems to match perfectly as long as it is dark wood in tone.

Recommend using gloves as it can stain your hands. The smell was not overwhelming which was great for sensitive noses like mine!.

Upon applying I noticed a petroleum odor, not a lemon scent. I polished my dining room table and chairs. They looked lovely. The next morning, all pieces were dull and cloudy. I spoke with Cedric who said to use a white vinegar and water solution.

After wiping each piece, again, my furniture was okay. I called back to ask for reimbursement but Jessica told me they could only send me a coupon for the same product. No thanks!.

I used my CNC machine to V-Carve some wall plaques in Red Oak. Then I finished them with Black Walnut Danish Oil from Watco. The tint settled excellently in the carved text and gave the surface of the wood an excellent medium Oak color.

Additional coats were applied to some plaques to give them a dark Oak color. I did not apply a top coat/clear coat as the final cured surface had an excellent hand rubbed finish look. I did 1 additional plaque using the Light Walnut tint of this same Watco Danish Oil with a resulting light Oak color.

They were all Christmas presents and they went over big. I highly recommend this product as easy to use, though a bit messy, with stunning results.

I love using Olive Oil for cooking because of the healthy fats as well as the health benefits, but I’m not a huge fan of the taste. This Extra Light Tasting Olive Oil from Pompeian is perfect for me.

At my wits end, I read the reviews and decided to try this product. Before I bought my home, there was a renter who did quite a bit of damage, and there were these white marks on the kitchen cabinets that looked like something was splashed on them, particularly the lower ones.

I tried everything to remove them short of sanding and staining and nothing worked. This product, with a teflon scrubber (as the instructions indicate) seems to have done the job. I don’t see those specks and splashes returning yet, and the cabinets look really nice at last.

I don’t see a shiny finish, but I can achieve that with some Orange Glo. So overall, I’m pleased with this product.

After years unable to find a suitable product to treat our teak furniture, discovered this cream. Brings all the colour back and treats scratches and stains. Does not work miracles but vast improvement.

This mineral oil did a great job on our wooden boards. My MIL has a board she has put into the dishwasher for years (yeah, I know) and this helped restore the feel and look of the board to something much better than anticipated.

I appreciated that it was well-sealed to avoid leaks in transit.

Your wood conditioning mineral oil is just what I have been looking for! It is light and easy to use, and odorless! All my wood utensils look like new again with all the beautiful wood grains showing.

Lovely oil and nice to use but found spray bottle leaked a bit. That meant it arrived in a bit of a state through the post and when I used it the bottle got a bit oily. I also found it very expensive for the small quantity.

Orange Oil Polish soaks in to dry damaged wood and the wood becomes like new again and it has such a lovely smell. Its good quality and I would recommend it but I do think it is over priced for the amount you get.

Polishes and shines all wood surfaces and furniture bright and nicely. Would definitely recommend.

Although the product in the picture here says “furniture polish”, the product I ordered, received, and am writing this review on is “wood polish. ” I don’t know if there’s any difference, of if they’ve changed the name or what, but I first discovered Howard’s Orange Oil Wood Polish a couple of years ago at Menard’s.

It was back with the butcher block oils and woodworking products. I have an old house with nice wood floors throughout. The people who lived here before us had had some sort of clear finish put on the wood kitchen floor, which was starting to peel off.

She admitted she wished they’d never done it. She said it needed to be refinished, but under the peeling finish, the wood floor looked great, just dry. I don’t believe in waxing floors — I like the grain and natural wear to show in my wood floors.

So I started spraying Scott’s Liquid Gold on the floors, because I noticed that not only did it look great where the finish had peeled off, but it nourished the wood and made it look really rich. The only bad part was that the product left a greasy, slick residue.

But over the 25 years we’ve lived here, I kept applying it once a month or so, using a dustmop afterwards. Eventually, the peeling finish disappeared, and I was left with a lovely, rich-looking wood floor.

Then I discovered the Howard’s Orange Oil. I put it down, and lo and behold — no greasy, slick residue. It just soaked in and looked wonderful. I finally convinced my cleaning lady to use it on all the wood floors.

She does two rooms a month, and then starts over. She really argued with me at first, saying the floors would be greasy and slick and these products were never meant for floors. Now she’s convinced that this works great.

If your floors have a shiny, waxed finish on them, this probably don’t work for you for this purpose. But if you have good old natural wood floors, this product is PERFECT! Only problem, it’s expensive to use for this purpose if you buy it at the store.

I found it on here for a really good price and ordered the box of six bottles. Great value! Will order it again and again!.

Having used products like Old English and Endust for years, I was simply amazed at what orange oil will bring out in real wood products. It is quite magical. Cleans, oils, and restores, all in a quick wipe.

It does leave an oily residue, which although it makes the wood look even more beautiful, is not practical for table tops, so I usually wipe them down with a dry cloth before setting items on them. Highly recommend!.

The best oil to use on fine wood antiques. It gets absorbed, leaves no sticky surface, and smells wonderful without being overpowering.

At this price don’t expect it to be wholly from Italy. In fact the bottles I have bought recently have all contained a blend of oil from Greece and Portugal. It’s still guaranteed 100% extra virgin olive oil so, if you like the flavor and density it’s a good product.

We have no problems with it. It has a consistent quality and flavor, and that’s the main thing. The price is also important but, I suppose, if you are an olive oil snob you might insist on expensive Italian oil.

Just don’t be alarmed to discover that the eastern Mediterranean countries (today’s Iran, Greece etc) were using Olive Oil thousands of years before Rome even existed.

My son wanted shelving for a stand that holds his musical gear. (Not sure what all he has) Anyway; we wanted it in a dark Mahogany but with the wood grain showing. Those who have purchased wood know how expensive it is so I took a couple of pieces of plywood and 1 piece of laminate flooring and stained them.

I used red food coloring to enhance the redness of the stain. Then came the (what I thought would be the tricky part) Sealing the wood. But I was so wrong and so very happy and he was thrilled. It took several coats of Varathane Clear Gloss Polyurethane; but believe me; the finished product looked beautiful.

It was easy to use and I would have had a little easier time if the weather would have cooperated but I can’t change the weather. I have used other Polyurethanes in the past and they seemed to dim the brightness of the project I was working on.

Not so for Varathane. It glided on and dried to a high shine after about 3 or 4 thin coats. Make sure you don’t apply it too heavily. I seldom make my son happy; but he was so happy with how it turned out he actually bragged to his friends.

I LOVE this product! Can’t wait until I can move on to my next project to use Varathane Clear Gloss Polyurethane again!.

This water based polyurethane does not have fumes and is very easy to apply. I sanded and waited more than the suggested time between coats. I was happy with the result; however, there are several scratches on the surface that were made just by placing objects on it (no pressure).

Unfortunately, I will need to sand everything again and I will probably apply an oil based polyurethane next time.

This was a good product but unfortunately due to user error I was unable to properly use it. I originally planned to use it to make glittered ornaments in replacement to poly acrylic but this is a satin finish.

At first the ornaments didn’t look as bright but after a couple of days of drying it worked out. Will do in a pinch but it’s better if you buy the glossy finish.

I was given a Boos cutting board for Christmas. The cream and oil are really required to keep the warranty in place. I could not find either locally. Contacted several official dealers but never received an answer.

So I was glad to find it available on E-Bay. I assume it is a good product as it is required by the manufacturer. I know from experience wood cutting boards need a good food grade oil to maintain the wood.

This is, without a doubt, the finest wood surface product I’ve ever used. It’s easy to apply, doesn’t take a particularly long time to take effect, and delivers results better than I allowed myself to hope for.

It’s also less grimey than many other wood treatments. I, personally, love the scent of oranges, so it wouldn’t bother me if the aroma were strong, but the truth is it’s really only detectable during application — although there’s limited evidence for lingering cat-deterrence, which I also value, since they’re part of the reason my wooden furniture needed such attention.

In short, if you have any reason to be considering this product, you should get it.

I’ve never written a product review in my life. Why? it’s because if I were being reviewed as a housewife, my product review would barely merit a star. I’m not proud of the fact. But, well, I am good at writing academic journal articles.

Today, however, I’m so amused at what happened that I just had to share it with someone. My husband had bought some huge vases for outdoor planters and had kept outdoors over the Fall without using them.

He hauled them into the house and asked me to clean them up. All I could find under the sink was Pledge Restore & Shine for polishing the furniture. I assumed it wouldn’t work on the vases, but checking to see if the nozzle was open, I pointed it on the granite kitchen counter top.

It was. But when I went to wipe it off, the surface shone beautifully. So, I cleaned all the countertops with the Pledge. I then tackled the outside of the ceramic vases with the Pledge. They actually glistened.

And now this is the shocker. The vases were sitting next to an old leather sofa, which was so dry and cracked, I had it tagged for the dumpster as soon as I could get around to finding a replacement.

Well, yep, I sprayed the Pledge on that too. It doesn’t quite look brand new. But it’s no longer dry and in need of being tossed in the trash. I really don’t know what to make of this discover, except Pledge works for lazy, housework-challenged folks like me because you can spray it on all sorts of things.

Bytheway, I wouldn’t suggest rolling out cookie dough on the countertop though after spraying a layer of Pledge on it. But today’s experience did get me to wondering about when it might be necessary to have specialized cleaning products and when squirting some Pledge on the problem might work just as well (or even better).

is very good. I use it to clean surfaces where I cannot wipe with a damp cloth. because the surface would take on another appearance when it comes into contact with water. later, to preserve the durability of my furniture.

With this product I clean doors and everything made of wood or similar. It’s an oily substance that gives my doors a shiny finish, and the best part is that it smells like orange. my doors are very old and look new.

I think this polish is brilliant, and so glad I found it via one of JL’s marketing emails about spring cleaning. I’ve now used it on a couple of mid-century armchairs, which I believe are made from afromosia (African teak).

I loved the dark wood before, but after a quick buff with Parker & Bailey the wood looks even richer and has a light sheen it didn’t have before (this is perhaps the closest they have looked to what they would have been like new in a long time).

Said polish has also reduced the obviousness of some light marks each piece has attained over the years. The polish is easy to use and absorbs very quickly. I used to use teak oil/Danish oil thinking these were the best for vintage wood.

I am now a convert to this lemon oil polish and will look at the other items in their range as they seem to be very effective. Lastly, anyone concerned about the fragrance should not worry – it is very light and soon dissipates.

I only wish I had taken a ‘before’ photo to compare the before and after, but was not inclined as I simply didn’t expect the results I’ve achieved!.

In my utility room is a wooden work surface around the sink. After more than a dozen years, it looked patchy and parched. I tried this oil on a small patch and couldn’t believe my eyes, so I left it overnight to see if it was only a temporary effect.

It wasn’t and now the whole area has been transformed and the bottle still looks full. I will be trying this on the wooden garden furniture come next spring.

I have been using this polish for a few years now. A bottle lasts a long time, you only need to put a small amount onto a soft cloth. It takes care of all types of unvarnished wood by replacing natural oils.

Leaves a beautiful sheen and a lovely smell.

He used the traditional mortice and tenon method. It’s one of my most treasured possessions. We decided to let the natural beauty of the oak speak for itself- not to varnish it. Indeed, to let the beauty of the wood be seen, I had a piece of plate glass cut for the table top, so you can see all of it, all the time.

It is simple but elegant. I care for it by using Old English Lemon Oil. I lay it on thick with a cloth, and the wood drinks it in. I’ve been doing this for 20 years. I wouldn’t use anything else.

There were 3 other things on this order and all three came on different days. The outrageous price, slow shipping, total waste of our natural resources with the packing and separate shipping is beyond stupid! Walmart, I understand you source from different places but you need to do better, MUCH better, with your quality control!.

My husband accidentally bought this. I did not check the label before light initial spray- and unfortunately my skin (red right hand that was in contact with polishing apparatus) and my ungs find this highly irritating (asthmatic).

Basically smells like classic dryer sheet fragrance on steroids, of which irritate my lungs and skin as well. LEAVE WELL ENOUGH ALONE PLEASE, A GREAT PRODUCT DOEN’T NEED TO BE “CHANGED” TO SELL. Almond doesn’t irritate, lemon does not irritate- but this does.

Ugh now my living room smells like irritant. Not happy. Gave 2 starts bc from what little I used, it appears to work. (For reference I wear quality fragrances. so Ixm not -THAT- sensitive, it’s just that bad).

This is amazing for kitchen counters, bathroom counters, stainless steel, and any other nonporous surfaces. It both cleans and gives the MOST BEAUTIFUL SHINE! I love lemon pledge it literally makes my wooden furniture so shiny and polished leaving a nice lemony orange scent behind.

Definitely makes cleaning more fun and removes dusty and oily residue making furniture look brand new! I absolutely love this stuff. This stuff works so well and it smells amazing. I would definitely recommend if you have not tried this product before.

it’s nearly doubled in price over the past year and when you factor that into the equation, it is truly not worth it. There are literally tons of product out there with the same ingredients that do the trick for about 40% less.

I don’t mind spending money however, I do mind when companies like SC Johnson continuously take advantage of situations to rationalize hiking prices. Like most of my colleagues, we’re boycotting the brand.

The furniture milk is one of the best ieper purchased. Beautiful smell and greatshine after application. Will definitely buy again.

Hard to find product in any store and many online retailers sell at an incredibly inflated price. Thank goodness Walmart has this fairly priced! Excellent for cabinets and countertops which have lost their shine!!.

I love the design of the Rejuvinate bottle. It sprays really well. I won’t go so far as to say that my cabinets look brand new, but they are cleaner. As I was using the product, I was going to state that I love how it is unscented, but my particular bottle said it was lemon scented.

However, I did not notice any smell. Overall, it works. However I can’t say that I’m blown away by the results. My cabinets feel much nicer. Lastly, it wasn’t obvious as to what materials this wasn’t compatible with.

I assumed it was safe to use on wood as the cabinets on the bottle picture appear to be wood but it would be nice to have a list of furniture that you can and shouldn’t spray this on.

I tried this on my kitchen cabinets using a clean cloth. I found the consistency very watery. Because of this it didn’t really do anything special to the cabinets. Yes the dirt came off, but that would have happened using soap and water as well.

I did not really detect a lemon scent so this was pretty much odorless which is fine. This did not give my cabinets a polished look or anything. I think you would be better off using whatever cleaner you already have and then using a furniture polish if you want to see a big difference in your cabinets.

This is a great olive oil: fresh and green-tasting, with that little bit of burn at the back of the throat. So delicious! We have been buying this oil since we first were made aware of it. Back then, it was available in our grocery store – in a smaller quantity, of course! And then for awhile the 100% pure California oil wasn’t to be found – it was a blend of imported oils as well.

Since olive oil is best when it’s fresh, having the imported oils just meant we weren’t getting as fresh a product, so we stopped buying it. Once we saw that the pure CA oil was at Sam’s, we happily went back to enjoying it!.

I use this olive oil every single day and recently, the price (in Target and my local supermarkets) nearly doubled overnight. I guess that’s due to supply issues or something? Anyway, I was determined to find it at a better price and sure enough, Walmart came through.

At least at the time of my purchase, Walmart’s price hadn’t changed. So I bought 6 bottles and I’m crossing my fingers that the price will adjust downwards again in the future. Can’t beat Walmart prices.

We restore historic homes and MinWax is our go-to brand for returning old woodwork to it’s former beauty. Our most recent project using MinWax Antique Oil finish was to restore moisture and shine to a 100+ year old staircase.

We didn’t want to change the rich color, so we gently removed dirt build up first and then hand rubbed the finish into the wood paneling, stair rails and newel posts. The wood was thirsty so we used three coats as well as some spot touch ups to assure a smooth even finish.

The end result was beautiful. It kept all the character of the rich walnut wood while adding shine and smoothness. This is a product that is easy to use – you don’t need to be a professional to use it to restore antique woodwork or furniture.

Just be sure to use sparingly and apply with a soft cloth for best results. If applying multiple coats, be sure to allow time to dry between coats.

I stumbled across this product online while looking for Minwax’s navy blue wood stain. I began reading the reviews and noticed almost all, if not all, reviews were 5 stars. I had to order some and try it.

I tried it on a shelf made of stained poplar and the result was beautiful. I also tried it on a piece of unstained pine. On the bare pine it left a bit more of a shine. The oil soaks in and layer after layer it leaves a hint of luster, but not as much as polyurethane.

The stained poplar I used it on basically maintained a bare wood look, and feel, after a few layers. And I absolutely love it! Can hardly wait to apply it to other projects. This product needs to be advertised more than it is.

I had to dig around on the site to locate it and read about it. It’s a GREAT oil finish! If you haven’t tried it yet, try it!.

I attended a woodturning class at Ernie Conover’s shop several years ago and he had us use this as a final finish on our bowls. I loved the way it went on and buffing it our over several days was pure joy.

Being able to handle and buff the bowl that I had just turned renewed my excitement of the turning process. I have since used this oil finish on most of my turnings and now on refinishing a large antique butcher block that became “gummy” on the top surface.

Stripping the top finish and sanding it to 220 before applying the finish did the trick. The finish matches the sides and the low soft velvet luster matches the character of the butcher block nicely.

I have been cooking eggs for a good 20 years. every morning. I usually use a name brand. I was out, in a hurry and grabbed Target’s brand to save a dollar. My eggs are sticking to my skillet every time.

I prefaced with how long I’ve been cooking eggs to let you know this does not happen to me. I don’t think this oil handles the heat well (I have my burner on medium). Once the skillet heats up, the oil separates, smells and looses its viscosity.

Target is awesome and I know they will let me exchange it for the brand I normally buy.

I like the almost always lower price than that of the brand name vegetable oil. We honestly cannot taste any difference between good and gather brand vs the big box brand. Cooks well, never an issue with the oil being too thin.

I usually end up with good and gather to save money!.

I’ve tried so many different vegetable oils and I prefer to use only 2 on the market because of the flavor of some of the foods I cook. This oil doesn’t change the flavor even a little bit of what I cook when so many do.

It’s a keeper.
