20 Best Oil For Oil Cleansing (2022 Updated)

IšverstiShow in original languageI happen to pick this oil cleanser up while on a “short vacation” that turned into a long 3 week vacation, up north, in Massachusetts. I picked up the 180 ml. At the time, I was using my DHL cleansing oil but did not bring it with me.

It came a frosty bottle with a pump that has a longer spout. I used about 2 pumps of the oil and the consistency was very thin and watery. I was worried it would not remove all of my sunscreen and makeup and my water proof mascara.

I was pleasantly surprised that it did it all. This did not imulsify as much as the DHL oil cleanser but it worked beautifully. It did not leave a residue of oiliness nor did it cause any irritation or break outs on my face.

I also like the light and pleasant flower scent. Not to overwhelming or pungent. It really is nice and calming. It rinsed off very nicely and I was left with clean and non stripped skin. I also went ahead and washed my face again with my usual gentle face cleanser.

Double cleansing is the secret before a skin care routine you guys! At 180ml for $35. I’d buy this again. Sheshiedo is a very good skin care brand and I recommend 👌.

I love cleansing oils and balms and feel like I’m pretty much on a mission to try them all and let you know about the good ones!!! Double cleansing is the secrete to healthy, beautiful looking skin.

Start with a cleansing oil and follow up with a foaming cleanser. This cleansing oil really melts and removes your make up, sunscreen, dirt, gets deep down into the pores and leaves your skin clean, while helping it to retain moisture.

No dry sensation after using it! I personally like using a cleansing oil with a pump. It’s convenient and more sanitary compared to balms in a jar.

IšverstiShow in original languageI generally use this in my evening skincare routine to remove my makeup but at times I use it in the am as well. This has by far been the best oil cleanser I’ve used.

Unlike some brands, I don’t feel like I need to double cleanse after using it. My skin is pretty balanced for the most part for reference. Not oily, not overly dry. Pretty “normal”. I find that it removes every bit of my makeup very easily.

Even stubborn mascara comes off well and it doesn’t leave my eyes blurry as some cleansing oils/balms do. I then merely rinse it off and carry on with my toner etc. It’s caused no breakouts or oiliness.

Just clean, soft skin. Definitely my go to from now on.

Unless you have very dry skin, you should use this as a double/pre-cleanse. I have combination/sensitive skin with pore congestion on/around my nose. I use this as a pre-cleanse to help remove the top layer of my daily grime/oil before using my cleanser.

I leave this cleansing oil on for 3-5 minutes to let it really work and rinse with lukewarm water. I follow with my preferred cleanser and a generous spritz of the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Adaptogens, and Coconut Water.

I think a lot of individuals expect things to work immediately. Yet it takes time for skin to adjust to products, depending. Everyone’s skin is different and the same product is not going to work for everyone.

It isn’t necessarily a “bad product” if it doesn’t work for you. You can have sensitivities to certain ingredients when others don’t. It’s trial and error when it comes to skincare. Your best bet is to seek a dermatologist if many products aren’t working in your favor.

P. S. Makeup wipes are the worst. Don’t do it.

I decided to give this cleansing oil a chance despite the fact that I’m an ingredient snob and I haven’t been a fan of most of this company’s products. This I love! I use it as step one of a double cleanse and it does a beautiful job removing my sunscreen and makeup.

I haven’t had any issues with irritation the way some reviews mention, but considering that there is lavender essential oil in the product it seems logical that it could be irritating to some people.

I try to stay away from fragranced products, but I love the lavender and I feel fine knowing that I’m washing it right off and following with step two of my double cleanse. And the price point is reasonable.

So yeah I’ll purchase this again!.

This product is exceptional when used with water and emulsified for my sensitive, acne prone dry skin. This product has not made my cystic or comedonal acne worse which is incredibly rare! However when used to remove makeup as the directions say you can, I’m not particularly fond of how it feels afterwards being very oily.

So this product can be really great if it’s right for your skin, depending on which way you intend to use it. If you’re struggling to find a cleanser that won’t make dry skin worse, I would certainly recommend you try it because if you’re using it as a cleanser emulsified with water I think most people would like it.

Just know that using it as a makeup remover isn’t really that great.

This is not a case of the increase in RRP – this review was based on Pai reducing the size of the cleansing oil by 45ml and still charging the same price.

This is significant. This happened when the branding changed. It made me wonder whether the glass bottle only came in a smaller size – but instead of reducing the price you chose to keep the price and exploit loyal customers – thus losing some in the process.

This oil is lovely to use – smells beautiful and slips on the skin easily. Good at removing makeup & spf, only four stars due to first cleanse still leaving mascara residue but second cleanse with the oil removes completely.

Nice to use as a morning cleanse too because it’s a light oil and it does become milky if emulsified so no issues with removal (also removed using flannel without adding water and still comes off lovely).

Skin feels soft and clean after removal. The smaller bottle doesn’t last a long time however and for the price I would expect it to as I feel I have to use 4-6 pumps of product for my face. Despite this I will defo be re-purchasing as I think it’s a brilliant oil that can easily be used everyday.

I want to begin by saying I never write reviews, but Pai skincare is the most remarkable skincare I have ever found. I am 44 years old, have extremely sensitive skin, and have struggled with acne my entire life.

Since using a simple routine – Light Work followed by a few drops of the Rosehip Oil – my skin has never looked better. I have not had a single blemish, and my skin is always perfectly balanced and smooth.

I never would have imagined that oil products would work with my skin; my dermatologist always discouraged me from using oil. I am not exaggerating when I say I am often mistaken for being in my 20s.

I wish I could attach a photo so you could see for yourselves. My husband, age 60, also uses the same regimen and has been amazed by the results. He calls it the magic pixie dust. I have been hesitant to leave a review for fear of letting the secret out and the products being in such high demand that we will have trouble getting them.

That’s how good these are. I promise you will not regret trying them!.

This is an amazing cleansing oil in terms of taking off your makeup before going in with a cleanser. Out of all the cleansing oils I have tried, this one is incredible at removing even the most stubborn stains on your face! However, the reason I took off two stars is because of two major drawbacks.

First of all, it’s highly fragrant…Not necessarily a bad smell, but there is no need for it to be that perfumed…Honestly worries me that it could potentially be irritating, even though it’s a wash off treatment.

Secondly, this product has absolutely NO MERCY if you get it in your eyes. I have never had a product sting so badly, but not only that, the pain lasts for soooo long. It feels like as if you were to squeeze dish soap directly into your eyes.

It’s not the end of the world, but it just means this is definitely more of a face cleansing oil and you’ll need another product to take off your eye makeup. It’s still a beautiful product and definitely gets the job done, but those two cons I listed are enough of me to probably not purchase this again.

If you’re looking for an amazing cleansing oil, I suggest looking at Clinique’s – sounds cliche, but Clinique’s makeup removing line is the best I’ve ever used thus far.

I’ve been using this cleansing oil for several months as the first step in my morning and evening double cleanse, and for the most part, I’m enjoying it. These are my honest observations based on my experience.

Pros – Removes all of my makeup, even my water proof mascara, although I do have to take some extra time massaging it over my eyes. – I was hesitant to use an oil on my already oily skin, but because oil attracts oil, this cleanser actually helps balance my skin by removing excess sebum and impurities – Makes my skin super soft – The bottle has a ton of product! I only need one pump if I don’t have makeup on and 1.

5 pumps if I am wearing makeup, so a single bottles lasts me a long time. Cons – As mentioned before, it takes a little extra work to remove waterproof mascara, but I have yet to find a cleansing oil or balm that does this with just a few swipes.

– If any gets in my eyes, it can sting. I have to make sure my eyes are tightly shut and I rinse it off well – Difficult to travel with. Not only is it a big bottle, but oil can leak during travel. I put it in a large ziplock baggie before putting it in my toiletries bag.

– I definitely have to use a regular cleaner after to make sure I get all of the product off my face. I don’t mind this, but if you’re looking for a 2 in 1 makeup remover and cleanser, this may not be right for you.

All in all, this cleaner is great for me personally, but it may not be right for everyone.

I don’t typically do reviews but I feel your products definitely deserve one. I have personally tried many products and spent a good amount of money through the years as I am sure many of us ladies do.

I am 44 so I have some fine lines and wrinkles, combination skin and I also suffer with rosacea. I truly wish I had taken a before picture of how my skin looked before using these products because I honestly could not be more happy with the results.

This cleanser is amazing! It’s like an at home spa experience. It soothes and moisturizes leaving my skin so soft. The scent is like stepping out in nature. It’s calming. It also washes away makeup easily and it has helped calm my rosacea.

I also purchased the Sqaulene + probiotic gel moisturizer. This has been a lifesaver for my skin. My complexion is no longer red and bumpy and irritated. I feel comfortable walking around without wearing makeup to hide the redness my rosacea caused.

I will continue purchasing both of these products along with some of the other products Biossance has. Ladies, if you are sitting on the fence about these products, I urge you to give them a chance. You definitely will not regret it.

Biossance is the best out there in my opinion. And this is coming from someone who lost hope in finding something that actually does what it says it will do! I love Biossance and will never look back.

First off, I have to disagree with anyone who will take away stars from a product simply because of the price. The price has absolutely nothing to do with how well the product functions. If that is a deciding factor, there are cheaper products out there.

But, believe me, this cleansing oil is the best I have tried. Many people have said they do not like the fragrance of this oil, because it is a bit on the ‘oceany’ side. Personally, the fragrance does not bother me, and I really do enjoy the beautiful blue coloring.

My skin is usually dry, but can have some oily spots. This cleansing oil takes care of the dry spots, but does not make the oily spots any worse. It actually balances everything out.  I use this on my face and neck, have found that four pumps is the average amount are use per cleansing session.

(Three would do it, but I just love the way it feels, so I use four. ).

I bought this sight unseen bc I love La Mer and it seemed a pretty good price for a 200ml bottle. The product itself is great. I don’t wear a lot of makeup, so Ii was using it as a gentle end of day cleanser to get rid of grime and it was great.

Within a week, my skin was looking fabulous. Then today I wore a full face of makeup and it really did melt/dissolve it off within seconds. However the smell. I don’t even know how to describe it. It’s a kind of animal fat smell.

Like tallow or beef fat. It sounds foul and it’s not pleasant but luckily it doesn’t stick around. I generally put another face oil on as soon as I have cleansed and it generally negates any lingering La Mer smell.

It’s surprising bc the other products I have used smell fine. Would I buy again? Probably. It is a good price for such a large bottle, and texturally and in terms of cleansing, it is amazing, but that smell!!.

I have weird combination skin. I have blackheads constantly in my T-zone area, I have small breakouts on my cheeks and forehead at all times, and it always seems like there is a buildup of oil right under my skin even though i don’t have oily skin.

My skin responds really well to oil and oil attracts the oil in my skin and removes it. I got this product on a whim because even though I don’t have bad acne, there was always 3-4 pimples constantly on my face.

After using this for a month, my skin is beyond soft, has a new bounce to it and i have no pimples. Even when i do and I can’t help but pop them the scabbing is gone within days instead of over a week.

Now i’ll be honest there are CONS: The smell, doesn’t remove eye makeup well, hurts eyes, need like 3-4 pumps per wash, the PRICE. And even with all of these I will give it 5 stars because I have NEVER seen my skin this clear, I wouldn’t trade these results for anything.

I wanted to love this, but after two weeks I’ve decided it’s not for my sensitive skin. This oil feels thicker to me than some other cleansing oils, so it takes more washcloth “steaming” and wiping to remove.

For my aging skin that feels like too much wiping. But the real deal breaker for me is the mint/menthol tingling on my face. Although I kept it far from my eyes, the scent is a bit strong and irritates my eyes.

I love Badger and think they make great products (big fan of the balm and cuticle balm as well as the lip butter) but would recommend calling and talking to customer service to determine if this one is right for your skin.

A quiz might also be helpful to match folks with the oil best for skin type. Just a thought!.

I’ve been using this cleanser for 6-7 years now and I will not wash my face with anything else. Every once in a blue moon, I’ve used a normal cleanser and it just feels like it strips my skin after using this product for so long.

The oils keep my skin hydrated and soft. My delicate under eye skin stays soft. I can already tell this is going to be my long-term secret to great skin as I age. I turn 33 next month and I’m already so thankful this product found it’s way into my daily routine.

There’s nothing else like it! Every time I use a hot damp wash cloth to take it off, it feels like a spa experience.

Love this natural, organic oil cleanser for my face. I can actually feel dirt being removed with the Seabuckthorn oil. Easy to warm a washcloth and wipe off. My face feels smooth,soft and extra clean.

I use 4 pumps on my face. I also enjoy the packaging with the Badger mascot. he’s so cute !! I will continue to use Badger products on my 60 year (old) “young” face. Also like the fact Badger cares about the environment in the production of all the products they create and sell.

For me, this is an amazing cleansing oil. A small amount dissolves all my makeup thoroughly and leaves my very sensitive skin, feeling soft, hydrated and clean. It doesn’t burn my eyes when removing mascara.

I use another medical grade cleanser in the morning, just as a personal preference, but could use the PCA oil too. The only “but” is the the pump gets stuck sometimes. Otherwise, even the packaging is beautiful! Thanks to my Licensed Aesthetician, I’ve found another great science backed product.

I’ve been using this oil for a little over a year. I have oily, acne prone skin so a cleansing oil seemed counterintuitive to me but I’m so glad I tried it. An esthetician explained to me that the oil kind of pulls/attracts the oil from your face and keeps it from over-producing.

My face always feels clean and super soft. I use it for cleansing and for makeup remover. Not a brand loyal gal in the slightest but I think I will always use this product.

This is a great oil cleanser. It goes on rich and you can really feel it nourishing and cleansing your skin at the same time. It also emulsifies nicely and rinses clean. The ONLY downside of this product is the packaging.

Despite never traveling with this, laying it down, or shaking it around, a bit of oil leaks out of the pump, making the bottle slick and greasy. For the price, I don’t want to have to store this in a plastic bag or clean my counter every time I use it.

This cleansing oil is EXCELLENT for dry or aging skin. I believe the addition of tea tree oil would also make it work well for normal/combination skin. It removes every trace of make up & sunscreen. However, I use pure coconut oil or baby oil to remove EYE makeup bc the smidge of tea tree oil in this product burns my eye area.

I always remove this Cocokind oil gently with a warm washcloth (I buy baby washcloths!) then I follow with CeraVe foaming cleanser for dry skin. Heritage Store 100% Rosewater is my choice for toner. In the morning if my skin feels extra dry, I will use the Cocokind oil as a cleanser -massage on/remove with warm wash cloth & follow with rosewater toner & CeraVe or Cetaphil sunscreen SPF 30 or 50 year ‘round even on rainy days! I am transitioning to all Cocokind products bc I want to get away from using chemicals.

I’m 57 1/2 yrs old & most people guess me as 40-45! I love the outdoors but stopped using the tanning bed several years ago after having skin cancer. Tanning beds are super aging and can KILL you. I had to have many precancerous and cancerous lesions removed.

Now that I follow a good skin care regimen, I look younger now than I did ten years ago! Drink water, use good products like Cocokind and wear sunscreen 365 days a year! Take care of your skin and you’ll need less makeup and feel naturally beautiful.

Hey beauties! I must be honest this is not my favorite cleanser. I cannot get past that floral scent (chamomile scent) from this cleanser. For my skin type I don’t find it to be a very good double cleanser and it wasn’t very good at removing my makeup for the first cleanse.

The oil has a very thin consistency and makes my face feel like it had only oil on and wasn’t doing much cleansing (even after emulsifying). I’m also not a fan of the packaging specifically the pump.

I had a very bad experience when I ordered this product online, before opening the package there was already a leakage of the product on the product box and it made the rest of my order very oily. Unfortunately, for me that was already a bad sign.

I think the company should have been a little bit more mindful to creating a recyclable cap that can be put on top of the pump to avoid any accidental leakage that I had personally experienced. I’m very glad that for their oil to milk cleanser is packaged in a tube which I think will be easier to handle and use.

Overall, I think I wouldn’t revisit this product as it didn’t really do much for my skin, but I am open to trying other products in this line as I have read many great reviews about the rest. Fingers crossed.

I really wanted to love this but it just doesn’t work well for my waterproof mascara. I could see how it would probably work really well for face makeup, but I only wear eye makeup and this is just unpleasant and doesn’t work well.

I’ve tried using it on a cocokind round or with my fingers and either way I can never get the mascara all the way off. The oil is thick and it would get stuck in my eyelashes, I would have to rub way more than when using micellar water and that much rubbing just doesn’t make my eyes happy.

And even after using this and washing my face there is still makeup residue under my eyes. I’m sad. I wanted this to be my new remover.

IšverstiShow in original languageAnytime I apply a full face of makeup, or mascara, and require something ‘heavy duty’ to remove it all with, this has been my go-to cleansing oil. You apply it to dry skin and with dry hands, massage it in (it will quickly emulsify), rinse with warm water and follow with a normal cleanser to remove any remaining residue.

On its own it does a pretty decent job but still requires a foam or gel cleanser afterwards. One of the good things about this is it helps skin retain its moisture. Even after I have double-cleansed, my skin still feels relatively hydrated.

which is perfect as I end up using less moisturizer afterwards! I do have a few different cleansing oils to try out as soon as I get a chance, but from all the ones I’ve already tried, this one has been my favorite.

IšverstiShow in original languageThis was the best deep cleansing oil I’ve ever used! I usually don’t use oils because I have oily skin already but this has changed my mind. I had received a 1. 5ml sample packet from Ulta awhile back in one of those “Mystery Grab bag” promotions they gave out if you spent over a certain amount but I had never used it.

I noticed that Ulta was going to be having this oil on sale on 16Mar for 50% off so I cracked open the sample to give it a go. You use it on dry skin and rub in for 35-40 seconds, then rinse. It melts off you fingertips right away with water (unlike some heavier oils that stay on forever) and falls off your face effortlessly.

I don’t pat dry with a cleansing oil, I wipe away because I want the towel to get off most of the debris on my face. Your skin feels instantaneously smoother and hydrated. You can’t stop touching your face.

I had a few scabs left over from a breakout with a charcoal mask that didn’t like me and this eradicated those things overnight! I liked this so much that I bought 2 bottles from Ulta’s 50% off sale! Seriously, try this stuff!.

IšverstiShow in original languageMy first cleansing step used to be with a cleansing balm but I was not a fan of the one I used because it felt like the balm stayed on my skin after rinsing. I decided to try this oil as it had good reviews with removing makeup and I really liked it.

If I rinse well it doesn’t feel like I still have product on me and has indeed been great at removing makeup without me having to scrub and tug at my skin. Leaves it hydrated and definitely not stripping.

It does smell like olive oil though but I don’t mind at all. I would have made this my go to forever because it lasted me such a long time even after using it everyday but after finding out about the comments the CEO of this brand has made it’s been off putting.

I have finished the bottle I though I would repurchase but now looking for something new. I love this product but never buying from this brand again until I hear of a culture change. I would take off more stars but the product is great so I just took one off for reasons mentioned above.

I am so disappointed. I received a sample of this in an advent collection, and I LOVED it! I primarily wear eye makeup, and this remover was very gentle on my sensitive skin and didn’t bother my eyes at all.

Unfortunately, the full-size bottle seems to have a different formula. It is extra, extra oily and even though I only use the tiniest amount, I can not get all of the greasiness off without an additional cleansing product.

Also, I am incredibly careful about not getting any remover in my eyes, but it still works its way in there and makes my vision cloudy until I flush them out. Finally, the pump dispenser is ridiculous.

This was a total waste of thirty-one dollars, and the only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because it does what it says and the sample size formula was amazing.

I was excited to try this cleansing oil to remove my makeup before following with my Cerave hydrating face wash. While the oil did do a good job of dissolving the makeup, my skin started to breakout horribly after a few days.

Whiteheads were popping up all over my face, which does not normally happen. My skin isn’t terribly sensitive and I thought the ingredients of this product seemed good — so I was quite surprised and disappointed when it made me breakout.

Aside from the breakout it caused, the oil also clouded my vision when used to remove mascara from my lashes and did cause an uncomfortable feeling in my eyes that I needed to wash out in order to make it go away.

If it didn’t cause me to breakout so horribly, I would have continued to use this oil because it did do a good job of removing the makeup.

I really like using this cleansing oil as both a makeup remover and as the first step in the double cleansing method. For me, it’s the perfect oil consistency. Only 4 pumps to remove a full face of makeup.

It’s thin, spreads out nicely when applied to the skin and it’s fragrance free. It dissolves all my face makeup/mascara (can’t speak for waterproof) sunscreen, etc. beautifully. It rinses off clean with water and leaves your skin ready for a water cleanser.

I personally don’t like the thicker oil formulas for make-up removal. However, as a deep pore cleanser, I will use a mixture of this cleansing oil along with a few drops of castor oil to create a thicker consistency, massage for 15-20 minutes to loosen up those impurities, steam face and then water cleanse.

My pores are so clean after this! Also, this oil doesn’t irritate or burn my eyes, which is a plus. NOTE: If you wear contacts, I suggest taking them out before removing your eye makeup or you’ll have a hard time cleaning all the oil from your contacts properly.

NOTE 2: Cleansing Oils are meant to be followed up with a water based cleanser to correctly remove and dissolve all the residue that an oil cleanser leaves behind. Namely, the double cleansing method.

I bought this a few months ago and was sceptical about its effectiveness expressed by a clarins consultant as my experience with cleansing oils to wash and clean my face in the past have been disappointing.

First of all, the smell is subtle and somewhat lemony and personally I like it but if you’re picky about smells it’s should still be okay for you. Following correct use, my skin felt immediately softer and less bumpy.

Over time, these effects stayed consistent and cleansed my face without overly drying the skin as some face cleansers do. It also noticeably reduced the inflammation and hyperpigmentation I had on my skin, following breakouts and irritation, over the course of about 3 weeks.

I have combination skin and besides helping evening out and soothing my skin it made my skin feel more hydrated without it feeling too oily. Overall, I felt it was a great investment and like anything you need to give it some time to see its effects as it’s not some miracle cleanser that’ll instantly better your skin.

This is not the best or the worst makeup removing cleansing oil I have used. It does a decent job at removing my face makeup, but could do better with waterproof eye makeup removal. I’m not a big fan of the formula or consistency.

It’s very runny and too thin for my personal preference. The amount of product for the price point is steep too. Most of the other cleansing oils on the market I’ve used are bigger in quantity and less in price.

Because this cleanser does its job and removes my makeup, I’ll finish the bottle, but I won’t be repurchasing. If you are looking for a similar product comparison, I have used Biossance squalene cleansing oil and Clinique take the day off cleansing oil, and both are less expensive with a larger amount of product and more effective with better formulas in my opinion.

I just recently tried this cleanser and it’s wonderful. I have dry skin. It removes my makeup so easily. I apply it to my face using 3 pumps and then with lightly wet hands I massage my face very gently and it turns slightly creamy.

It rinses off easily with warm water. My face doesn’t feel tight or dry afterwards and there is no oily residue or greasy feeling. Instead my skin feels so soft. I’ve noticed my face has a healthy glow and my lines/wrinkles (I’m a senior) are less noticeable since using this product.

Please do not discontinue this product – it’s a must for me. I’ve tried many Clarins cleansers but Total Cleansing Oil is my favourite by far for my night cleansing routine.

I heard this is an excellent facial cleanser. I was a bit nervous to try this because I am allergic to Burt’s Bees lip balms. I tried this because of the price and that this is an oil. I wear waterproof makeup and need something to really cut through all the products.

Burt’s Bees I can use on the entire face, neck, and eyes and I can order this from Target. The pump is nice with the locking device so if you had to travel with it, you can without the product spilling out.

I like that. The product is an oil and very runny, so make sure to pump into your hands and cup them or the product will run out. I will use one pump and then rub into both hands and then rub into the entire face and eyes.

This stuff really eats through my waterproof mascara with minimal amount of rubbing. I will remove makeup and then I will sweep the excess into the roots to ends of my hair. My hair feels so much softer after washing.

I use a tissue to remove the product and makeup from my face and then jump into the shower. Then I will moisturizer my face and my skin looks and feels great. Sometimes I might have residue of mascara, then I use a pointed Q-tip to get the left over mascara off.

I have been using this product for 3 years now and just love it. I noticed that my eyelashes have gotten longer and fuller. When I switch to another brand, I notice my eyelashes get thinner. I won’t be switching from this product ever! LOVE!.

Very lightweight oil, almost hard to believe it’s oil! Totally melts away makeup even if it’s waterproof or under setting spray. Great bargain oil for a double-cleanse routine. It doesn’t make you greasy and will wash right off with just a bit of water, even without a cleanser! Definitely gonna be buying this again when I run out, which will take awhile since it’s huge! Other people have complained about the smell, which is a bit clinical? but is honestly not offensive.

It smells like other Burt’s products I’ve used, or maybe baby powder? Either way, not a terrible smell and certainly not enough to make me dislike it given its performance.

I’ve never used a cleansing oil before I discovered this product by Burt’s Bees. I have oily skin and the idea of cleaning my oily skin with more oil just sounded insane to me. Until I tried it. I love ‘top’ and ‘best’ lists, you know like Top Anti-aging Night Creams, Best Sunscreen for Over 30! I realize these lists and articles I love so much are at risk of being subjective and falling prey to a writer’s opinion or publisher’s pockets, this is America afterall and capitalism is Queen.

But Burt’s Bees cleansing oil wasn’t on just one of these top/best lists, it on all of them. I swear, if you look up best oil face cleansers you’ll be bombarded by fancy products with one constant. Burt’s Bees lol I take my skincare seriously so of course I have to try it and I was seriously impressed with it and have been using it ever since.

To keep the oil on my T-zone under control I sometimes overdry the rest of my skin, but since using Burt’s at least 4x a week I haven’t really had that problem. I wash my face religiously morning and night, so I throw this cleanser a few times a week and it leaves my skin feeling clean and soft, but not greasy or oily at all.

Overall it’s a great product, feels like good, quality oil, it doesn’t foam at all of course, I massage it gently onto my skin on my face neck and chest for a few minutes and rinse. Those sensitive to scents will most likely. I rub between my hands then apply to dry face. When I add water to emulsify the oil it turns into a milky consistency. It breaks down my makeup and sunscreen easily and rinses off well.

It doesn’t leave behind a oily film on skin once rinsed nor does it leave my skin feeling dry or tight. My skin feels clean and softer after each use. I am not big on essential oils in skincare but I do love that this has evening primrose as an ingredient because it is moisturizing and has ceramides.

This stuff!! Doesn’t seem like much, smells light, hint of lavender, feel light, but, after about a year before writing this review, it improves your skin. I’ve slept with it on (being lazy), I’ve often put in on at home as a good for your skin kinda thing and (of course) I’ve used it as recommended as a cleanser.

It does what it says, and more. Not harsh, no downside. If you want something good, helpful (and, not just another “hope” product). Try this. Also, the Midnight Recovery oil is excellent, worth the investment, lasts long and it works to improve your skin.

Midnight Recovery is an impressive concoction. Glad I figured out how good Kiehls is. Peace!.

I have been using this cleanser for a long time and always stock up on it when there’s a sale. It is a gentle oil cleanser, yet very effective; it takes off my waterproof mascara without stinging my eyes at all.

It smells great and feels like I’m giving myself a spa treatment when washing my face. My skin feels soft and supple afterwards and never dry or tight. This is a great price point as well compared to other brand oil cleansers out there.

I hope they never discontinue this product!.

This is the first cleansing oil that I’ve tried, so I can’t say how it fares compared to other cleansing oils. I do not wear much makeup, and usually micellar water & face cleanser, which removed whatever I was wearing very well.

However, on days that I wear something like CC cream for more coverage, the micellar water wasn’t removing the makeup as well. So, wanted to try a cleansing oil, and picked Neutrogena since it’s much cheaper than other brands that run $40.

It seems to work better in removing makeup, except my waterproof eyeliner. I still need to use my eye makeup remover first. After rinsing the oil off, I still feel a little residue on my face since it is an oil and follow up w/ face cleanser.

Also, it did sting a bit when it got into my eyes once. What I don’t like is the fragrance. To me, it smells like green apple Now & Later candy and a little strong & synthetic. Wish it was frangrance-free or the fragrance was toned down.

My DHC Deep Cleansing Oil was almost over, I decided to get the Neutrogena Ultra Light And test it to see if it would be a good substitute. I got mine at Target for $8, which I consider a good price comparing to the previous one.

I gotta say it totally exceeded my expectations. The texture is more fluid than DHC’s and the fragrance is really good and delicate, comparing to the olive oil scent that is kinda strong in DHC’s. Effortlessly, it removed my make up in seconds, including my waterproof mascara (Maybelline’s Sky High), which was a bit of an ordeal with the other cleansing oil.

It didn’t blur my eyes or left behind any residues after rinsing it out, at least not to the touch. It didn’t strip my skin, which felt soft right after. Due to oily and acne prone skin, I followed it with my night cleanser.

In my opinion, it was a great purchase. It didn’t fall behind the beloved DHC at all. I strongly recommend it if you’re looking for a new cleansing oil to add to your routine.

I started using the Cleansing Oil because another brand had changed their formula and my skin started feeling tight and dry. I tried several different products and was excited to get the results I did.

My skin felt clean, without that squeeky clean feel, smooth and soft. I have a toner which I use afterward and if I don’t get all my makeup off, it will show. The Cleansing Oil removed all my makeup with no problem.

I put a couple of squirts in my dry hand and rub it all over my face. It is great for eye makeup. I do not use a waterproof mascara so I do not know how well it removes that mascara, I just use a regular mascara.

I am definitely in love with this product and am sad it appears to be discontinued since all my stores have stopped carrying it and I can only find it on the Neutrogena site. This Cleansing Oil is definitely Ultra Light and has changed the texture of my skin for the better.

I have been using cleansing oils since I was very young and had crazy, profusely oily skin! I am now 58, and I SWEAR, cleansing oils are the ONLY way to thoroughly remove sunscreen, makeup, pollution, etc.

Some unseasoned cleansing oil users will fear a thicker cleansing oil-but the key to cleansing oil is science 101- it must emulsify upon contact with water and rinse completely. And this does! It doesn’t drip all over my neck and chest while I am cleansing at the sink either, like thinnner oils do.

I have used countless oil cleansers and cleansing balms. Some were too runny, others made me break out, some were way too expensive, etc. I recently purchased the Josie Maran body butter and when I found out the line includes a cleansing oil, I had to investigate.

To be honest, I am an ingredient freak. I get on the INCI list and look at the ingredients of every single product I even *think* about trying. This cleansing oil has so many ingredients that are good for the skin, so I decided to give it a try.

My first impression was that it was a lot thicker than most of the cleansing oils I had used in the past. However, it send out as I rubbed it in, and it just felt LUXURIOUS on my face. It felt illegal for the price point.

With ingredients like argan, sunflower, safflower, and grape seed oils, you know you’re putting high-quality ingredients on your skin. And you can’t beat the price. So many cleansing oils are just that – oils, with no nutrients.

This product is everything but that and I highly recommend to anyone, especially those with acne such as myself. Be kind to your skin, it needs you!.

This isn’t a very good cleansing oil in my opinion. It’s very thick and sticky, so it pulls and tugs at my skin when I’m trying to cleanse my face with it. Compared to other cleansing oils I’ve used, I find that I need to use way more product in order to spread it across my face (because it’s so thick I think) and by the time I’m done, it doesn’t even remove my makeup very well.

I always double cleanse, but with other cleansing oils, they at least remove the majority of my makeup, or loosen it up so that my next cleanser can finish up the job. When I’m done with this one, I still have eye makeup on that hasn’t been loosened up at all.

It doesn’t even fully loosen up my foundation. So overall. it’s kind of useless! I’d rather buy a cheaper cleansing oil from a Korean brand that actually does a good job. hard pass on this one guys, trust me.

I just couldn’t get passed it. And thirdly, no matter if I tried using less product or not, this left a film on my skin that wouldn’t come off. It didn’t make my skin soft, it was more sticky and just added this layer on my skin.

I tried using it multiple times, trying different things to see if I could change my mind but for me, unfortunately this is a pass. ⭐⭐ 2/5 stars.

It’s disappointing because I like this product but the bottle feels defective and I feel like I’m wasting a good amount of the product because it keeps leaking. I’m thinking of not purchasing it again.

There are only a handful of reviews mentioning the leak. I’m not sure if it’s a select few of the bottle or what but I’d prefer for my skincare not to leak everywhere. I know I can’t travel with this product or take it for an overnight because it will get all over the place.

I’m currently debating on if I should repurchase this product, but I’m leaning to finding a different product until there is possibly a new design of the bottle that prevents leakage.

I was previously using a high end oil cleanser. For the price point, this products works extremely well! I have tested it with a couple different waterproof mascaras and once it is absorbed well into the lashes (about 20 ish seconds) before massaging about I find it breaks down the products nicely.

It is definitely a first cleanse. It is a little heavier than the higher priced one I also use so my second cleanse I really have make sure I get it all off before going in with the hydrating toner water I use from this line also.

But for the price, it works extremely well! I am happy!.

Not too thick or too thin and takes makeup off very well plus does not burn my eyes. Just a simple and very effective cleansing oil. Super affordable and love that it’s not fragranced – just has a bit of olive oil scent when it comes out of the bottle but that’s it.

Muji skincare is very underrated. I love their sensitive skincare line.

I purchased a travel size of this and fell in love with it. Despite having Grape Seed Extract, I found that it ultimately was odorless—which is what won me over. It removed all the dirt/grime from my face and left it feeling smoothing and clean.

Ingredients were great and, according to CosDNA, they were rated low in risk. So I purchased a full bottle of it and it’s still the same great product, however I am a little confused as to why the travel version had different ingredients than the full-sized version.

Like I previously mentioned, the travel version had safer ingredients; the one I have now has a little more higher risk ingredients—including paraben. I’m not too sure what exactly went wrong. I purchased the travel sized one at a Muji store in-person and I purchased the full-sized one online.

Regardless, it still works great and is odorless. I’m giving it 3 stars because of its confusing and misleading ingredients list on both products.

I have an extremely sensitive skin and i hate the feeling of washing my face and it feeling tight. It’s scented but i love it !! I have the cleansing powder and foam (La Mousse) For the longest time I was obsessed with the foam until this oil.

I usually use one pump and place it all over my face using small circular options. I really massage it into my skin and it blows my mind how it removed mascara perfectly!!! If you were eyelash extensions you have to be careful when i had some i would use the oil for half of my face.

I love how it leaves my skin after rinsing, i will keep on buying :).

I love this product as it melts my makeup and is gentle enough for the eyes. I use a couple of pumps and massage my face for a minute, then rinse with warm water. If you wet your face first, it won’t work as it changes chemically and loses its effect when mixed with water.

Notes: It is heavily fragrant but doesn’t irritate my skin. Also, I would follow up with a soapy type of face cleaner to get the squeaky clean feeling as it is an oil base cleaner.

I had a sample of this cleansing oil and I had to buy a bottle. It emulsifies beautifully and removes makeup effortlessly. (The only small gripe I have is it has fragrance although it does smell gorgeous and luxurious I prefer un-fragranced skincare as fragrance can be drying).

Saying that however it does leave my skin feeling hydrated without an oily residue so I don’t mind the fragrance here! It’s wonderful, and you get quite a lot for a decent price (especially for Chanel)!.

Not only did it leave make up behind, I became itchy with red dry patches! Back to the safety of my DHC!! I am trying the concentrate this time and while it is super hydrating I’m not sure, for me, it’s worth the extra expense for less product.

I think I will be fine with the regular DHC oil cleanser. The olive oil soap as a second cleanser is amazing! I wear water resistant mascara and wear-resistant foundation and concealer and all is completely removed.

I’ve also started using the Urumai lotion with these 2 products and in less than a week my skin feels smooth and soft, I’m thrilled!.

I decided to try the Olive one and I’m glad I did. It is gentle on my skin and leaves it feeling moisturized yet clean. I don’t wear makeup, but I use a tinted sunscreen and I feel like it removes it all.

I am also very scent sensitive. This product has an olive oil-like scent, but it is not strong and it doesn’t bother me. Yes, it is more expensive than the other DHC product, but I can get away with using only half a pump so I have made the bottle last a lot longer.

I would buy this again.
