20 Best Oil For Pan Frying (2022 Updated)

This oil seems to let the meat stick to the frying pan much easier than other oils. The lid on the bottle is hard to get on straight, the threads make it go on crooked. I prefer to use the other oils like Crisco veg oil, made with soybean oil, that allow the meat to fry without sticking and has better designed caps.

I thought I was getting a 48 ounce bottle. I got a 24 ounce instead. For what I paid at one time of the day that would have bought 48 ounce. I guess cooking oil is like gasoline for a car. Both skyrocketing in price.

I ordered it shipped and the bottle looked scuffed and the top was even taken off at one point because there were greasy fingerprints on the top of the safety seal. It was almost as if the packer was disappointed that there was a safety seal.

Anyway, since there is a safety seal, I am satisfied.

I have been using Siberia Cooking Blen Oil for years because I have found it to be the healthiest for my needs. I use mostly Organic foods from Sprouts meats for many years. I balance myself between Walmart and Sprouts because Walmart now has many Organuc products to choose from as well.

I get my juices. Veggies, paper products. Etc. It all works out for me. Most of my cooking is with a Wok. I find I can salute my meat with the Iberia Oil and then add veggies or any additions I wish to use.

I guarantee if u start using the Iberia Blended Oil u will never go back to what I used previously. Glad to help with healthy eating.

my families love this olive oil so much! I really appreciate it delivered to my door. I have arthritis and carrying heavy stuffs is painful for me. it’s inexpensive but the taste is good. I’m not an expert.

but I am only seeking for an affordable cooking olive oil which is healthier than vegetables oil. this is the right choice and I keep buying it from Walmart.

For the crispiest outcome of my spring/egg rolls or anything that requires very high heat , normally I use Peanut Oil. However for sauteing , frying, or for everything else ( including oil I put in my homemade Sour Dough French bread and pizza crust) I rely on this.

This is a great oil at a great price. Unfortunately limiting each member to 5 a ?? A typical restaurant changes their oil once per week and each fryer uses about 2. I can understand limiting 5 per week, but.

when I tried to add 1 even the next week. Error message limit exceeded membership?? So how many how often can we get??.

I purchased 5 clear fry oils last week and was charged $25. 88. My husband purchased oil this week again for our business and was charged $38. 88. Can you please tell me if this is accurate and why the increase? Your website has both oils still posted.

Been using this oil for years, never had an issue. I have used the more expensive oils that say they keep foods from smelling and tasting the same. Honestly for us it was not difference. The Member Mark oil worked the same and last the same.

We even fry desserts without issue.

This box of LouAna peanut oil contains one huge plastic 3 gallon container. I was under the impression the box contained 3 separate one gallon containers. There is no way at 77 years old that I can pour from this container.

I can barely lift it. So far I picked it up at the Post Office, then lifted it out of my car at home,then opened the outer Walmart box only to discover it was one 3 gallon size plastic container. So I lifted it again back into the car.

I drove 160 miles to return it to my nearest Walmart. I lifted it into a grocery cart and another person had to held me lift the cart up a curb into the store. I lifted it up onto the counter at the service desk AND was refused a refund.

It was UNOPENED and my receipt was on line. So I loaded it back into the cart and then unloaded into my car. I drove home and unloaded it to the floor of my garage, where my pictures were taken. I still have my original problem.

ONE 3 GALLON CONTAINER OF PEANUT OIL which I cannot POUR out of. I have now lifted this box of peanut oil eight (8) times, driven over 300 miles to return it, and still have not resolved my problem. Some would say I am foolish but the truth is I am determined and I am not finished yet.

I would love suggestions.

I use this brand of oil in my deep fryer for various foods, such as fries, pies, egg rolls, doughnuts. The flavor can’t be beat. I have used canola and vegetable oils in the past, but they do not surpass the peanut oil with flavor.

The other oils tend to leave a burnt taste on foods, where the peanut oil does not. I had read that peanut oil is the ideal oil to use when frying at high temps. I have used this oil to deep fry turkey in the turkey fryer, and once again the turkey turned out moist on the inside and pleasantly crisp on the outside.

One last thing to mention, I resorted to ordering online, since peanut oil was not available when I went to my local stores. Thank you for saving the day, Walmart.

Most people buy this for turkey friers, but I use this in my kitchen, making french fries, donuts, potato chips, etc. I chose peanut oil because it has the reputation of having a high smoke point. I run my french fryer at the highest setting, 400F, and it doesn’t smoke at all.

If it was poorlt refined, that wouldn’t be the case. When the fryer oil level gets low, say, 30 uses over the course of a month, I demp the oil in my grease pot and use it for things like frying erggs.

Even after all that heating and cooling, the oil hasn’t broken down to give a nutty tastel it’s still essentially taste-free, as it should be when new. The box is big (there’s a plastic jug inside, but the recommend not removing it from the box), so when I get it out to refill the fryer, I refill a couple of bottles that oil came in, and I keep the box where space is not so precious as my kitchen cabinets.

I think of peanut oil as being almost as thick as corn oil, but this doesn’t give food a greasy taste. I use it as a salad oil, mixing my own version of Good Seasons Italian. When I refrigerate the dressing, the vinegar/oil mix turns cloudy and thick.

My cruet is too tall for my microwave, and too light when half-empty to warm in a water bath, so rather than getting the dressing out and waiting 3-4 hours for it to warm up, I just leave in unrefrigerated.

If you don’t use a cruet of dressing every couple of days, that’s probably inadvisable. I used to do fats and oils research for Central Soya, so I’m fairl. y informed. I avoid rapeseed (canola) and soy products in all forms; I consider them to be unfit for consumption.

Olive oil is too unstable for frying with. Lard is healthful, but it’s 2-3 times as expensive as peanut oil, so I save it for things like pie dough or biscuits. This is a very economical way to buy a really good oil for frying, and an OK oil for refrigerated dressings.

I like that peanut oil is able to stand up to very high temperatures. It also gives food that is deep fried that really good flavor that you find in restaurants, because they tend to use peanut oil. It can vary in price, but the Lou Ana is usually excellent quality at an affordable price.

At times of the year it gets very high, I mix a bit of canola with it and it still has a good taste and fries at higher temperatures very crisp. Usually, I use it at 365 or 375 degrees. Of course if anyone you are cooking for is allergic to peanuts, it should definitely be avoided.

Totally surprised at how small a 24oz bottle was. I believe peanut oil gets hotter than vegatable oil. I over cooked fried chicken twice. This oil gets spent more quickly than vegatable oil for sure.

With straining I’ll get about five frys before I have to dispose of it. I’ll buy peanut oil again but not in this size bottle.

After reading about how seed oils are not that healthy and the recommendation is to use olive or peanut oil I tried this. I used olive oil almost exclusively but always wanted a lighter oil. This is a great product, takes the high heat without burning or smoking and doesn’t give any off flavors to food.

Strain it through a coffee filter and it can be reused if kept in a fridge.

Love this product, have used it for many years. Now they don’t carry it along with a lot of items I need for my café. Seems like sams no longer wants to deal with small businesses. They have quit selling almost everything I purchased from them.

I purchased this oil at the beginning of the pandemic when I could get the regular canola oil. It is great for deep frying. I still buy canola for baking, but I also will continue to this oil.

I thought all veggie oils were the same until I used another brand when the store didn’t have any Crisco. The whole family had a negative comment on my pan-fried chicken strips which I make often. I did notice that they were not cooking as evenly as normal and the color was not that appetizing.

The only thing I did different that day was use a different veggie oil. Never doing that again. I will stick with Crisco no matter what.

I will not buy Crisco vegetable oil again. I contacted them 2 months ago about some bad tasting oil I had bought. They never got back to me. I contacted them 2 more times to finally be told that they had tested the batch number and they said the batch was fine and that I will not get a refund.

They refused to take back the bottle I bought and test it. I am not impressed with their customer service and their lack of responsibility for the quality of their product.

Took several weeks to get this But it came before I ran out. I just wish I could still get more things from shipping cause it saves lives still keeps jobs going and is less risk than going out to stores.

People like me that are high risk even my daughter who is high risk due to terminal illness. Has to take the chance and go out to stores to get what doesn’t ship. And then she comes in cleans everything she brings in and herself cause to protect me and her husband who has M S so we all are high risk.

She’s our private nurse, maid, and survival coach, and prayer coach I think these people are like our medical workers and should be rewarded. Cause she has been even doing what all she can go protect herself to protect us and to protect others.

Not for cooking! On the bottle, it actually says “Recommended maximum heating temperature: 100’C”. This was not made clear in the description when I purchased this oil. Rapeseed oil is normally used for cooking at reasonable temperature, it’s smoking point is usually over 190’C.

But of course – this probably is unrefined rapeseed oil. I am yet to taste it in salad and cold dishes, so cannot comment. The key point is – it should be made very clear that this is not cooking oil in the description for customers.

This pull handle is so elegant! I bought several to replace the handles for my new California Closet system, to give it a more whimsical, feminine feel as the handles that came with it were too hard/masculine looking (just gave them to my husband to use for his system).

I JUST used this. I made some egg fried rice. I dropped some of this in the pan, and sauteed some diced onions in it. Then with a little butter too, I dropped the white rice, soy sauce and egg and whipped it up.

I didn’t use any other seasoning, and I still got great flavor from this oil. I can’t wait to make more, and other types of stir fry.

LOVE this stir fry oil. Incredible to use while making fried rice. Excellent flavor addition to other oils (I add a few tablespoons to my peanut oil when frying chicken.

This stuff is amazing! Used it to make homemade dressing, sauté various peppers and herbs and used it with a hot pot broth, it’s sooooo worth it. Oh and it smells awesome too!

Wesson Pure Canola 1 Gallon is the perfect size for my family. It is very good in baked bread, cake and cookies that require an oil. You can taste the difference immediately in fried chicken, most excellent with butterfly shrimp, any fried food you cook with Wesson Canola Oil you can taste the food not the oil.

It’s the best cooking oil. I refuse to buy anything else. I’ve used Wesson Canola Oil to make wave bottles too, “it’s better than the cheap stuff for art fun” and lasts longer. I really appreciate the blue tape on the lid and placed inside a large baggie for safe shipment.

We use this oil for cooking and love the flavor. We have been using it for years and will continue to purchase. It makes the food taste so delicious. It is perfect for high temperature cooking for French fries, chicken cutlets and much more.

Very good quality, no smell at all, and good flavor, I have to give 5 stars because the Gal quality is great, hard plastic that makes ease to storage and lower the risk of accidental punctures on the gal.

the anatomic handle gives more stability and safety during the manipulation of the Gal. during the cooking, You don’t have to use both hands to hold the Gal. unless your hands are too weak, otherwise one hand its enough to hold and dump the oil on the pan.

The lid is the right size and you can just make 2 small holes on top of the inside cover to help the oil flows, Doing so, you will be controlling the amount of oil that goes out and no need to open the whole lid.

The shape of the Gal makes it easy to storage , if you have limited space.

Online order, I got a less than 2 months expiry dated LouAna 3 Gal pack. There is no way we could use it in such short time 3 gal oil. Unlike other plant based oils, Peanut oil is profound to small after few months in storage, there is no way I want to waste.

Need to return to store.

our new oil came the taste is the same, the issue is, this was not full, not a measure of 3 lbs, it was barely 2 full gallons, and my guy had to rush out to the store to buy a large container of peanut oil (the single gal size) to make it work for our modest 17 lb turkey that was ready and prepped and I was just stunned that during this harsh past year, we were shorted the gal that was not a full measure of what was sold.

Am highly considering to stop buying LouAna, and that means you guys loose a loyal customer of 40 plus years. C. Graves.

I like the idea of using oil as a spray to reduce intake but I have yet to find one that is actually just oil and that actually can spray properly and doesn’t look like chemicals when it comes out the bottle.

This product sprays ok at least at first then usually clogs but it doesn’t smell nor taste like olive oil which is perhaps not surprising as it’s only half oil. It has an unpleasant smell when heated.

Also extra virgin olive oil should not be used for cooking yet this product says it can. If using for cooking standard olive oil or other healthy oils should be used that have a high heating point extra virgin olive oil does not.

I would also question whether a product that is only half extra virgin olive oil should be marketed as extra virgin.

This is a very useful thing. Makes greasing easy, my Yorkshire puddings don’t stick anymore, thanks to this spray. Also spray on top of meats or potatoes instead of brushing them with oil, saves time and works really well.

When frying, I only spray it on the product itself, otherwise it starts smoking, so I use it only for things like burgers and steaks when frying.

100% Peanut Oil – 35 lb. It’s a 5 star product but was damaged when received so yeah. Thankfully webstaurant made it right so only some of it was salvageable since I didn’t really have anything to transfer it to, good product though, decent quality, peanut oil (if you’re not allergic) is usually the best way to go, tastes better and is a lot healthier than most oils.

This is the best oil for deep frying basically any meat. we use this for our chicken wings, and even to deep fry our turkeys. works great! makes our foods taste amazing

I have been deep frying turkeys for years. I deep fried two 18 pound turkeys in one day with this peanut oil. When I served it, there was nothing left but bone! This oil is great quality and great price.

I bought this for making tempura. It worked great. I accidentally took the oil to 426° fahrenheit ~ no smoke, no bad effects! The oil did not have any special scent before I cooked with it, but it gave the most incredible flavor to both the sweet potatoes and the shrimp that I cooked in it! I’ll always recommend and use LouAna peanut oil for tempura or frying! It was priced really competitively!.

If you’re not frying with peanut oil, then what the heck are you doing?! Seriously, peanut last longer, after each frying session. It withstands the heat better than any other oil. I would also say it adds to the taste of your food.

I really enjoy the aroma from Asian style peanut oil and use it as salad dressing oil. I used to buy it from 99 Ranch Supermarket. Turns out this time the oil is different. This one is more suitable for deep frying or cooking.

I googled their difference. This refined one has a neutral aroma (you almost smell nothing in it), but the cold press peanut oil or roasted peanut oil always smell very well. I guess I made the wrong choice.

But would still keep it for cooking.

It’s true what everyone is saying. The spray is now very… disgusting. I don’t use that word lightly. It comes out like whipped cream or shaving cream or some such thing. So, you have a fry pan full of fluff, and you can’t tell anymore how much you’re actually using, because it takes awhile to sort of melt and settle into oil in the pan.

It has a sticky consistency and an unpleasant smell, as well as an odd taste. I gave it two tries. I normally use Pam every single morning to make breakfast. I’m done. I took the supply I had back to the store and bought a can of spray Crisco to try instead.

Plus, Crisco is just Canola, instead of Coconut and Palm oils like Pam, so I like that better too. It’s also strange to me that the representatives on this site keep responding that the foaming is of no concern.

But the label actually says it contains an anti-foaming agent. So did they have a glitch in processing, and rather than recall them, they just kept them out because they didn’t think it was a big enough problem and they didn’t want to foot the bill? Or was there a formulation change, and they gave no indication of that to the consumer? I compared the last can of ‘normal’ Pam I had just finished to the new gross one, and the packages and information are identical.

Regardless, the whole thing is disappointing and very unpleasant. This was always a trusted brand, but after decades, I’m done with this product.

I will be repeating what so many other reviewers have already said, but I want ConAgra to know and understand how horrible Pam is now. I just opened a new can and sprayed my pan like I have for decades, and was stunned at what came out of that can, a foamy disgusting mess.

What the heck???!!! I had to look at the can to make sure of what I had sprayed. yep, the can said “Original Pam”. but this glop was unrecognizable as the Pam I have come know and love. Please, ConAgra, return to the true Original formula.

You have lost another customer, and I will alerting all my friends to not use this product again until the TRUE Original formula is reinstated. Or at least give your consumers the choice of which formula they prefer, as someone else has also suggested.

I think you guys made a terrible mistake in passing this new formula as the Original! The can I just opened is going in the trash.

Horrible. I have used Pam for years. With the last can purchased, a white foam when sprayed happened. Thought the can had gone bad even though I just purchased it from the store. I wiped out the foam and hoping it will not changed the taste of the contents when reheated as others have mentioned it did.

Throwing this can away. A waste of money. What happened? Why change a product that so many have used for years. If a defect, let buyers know of the issue. Another comment mentioned it is the 10oz can and not the smaller can.

This was my first time purchasing the larger can. I ‘may’ try the smaller can to see how it sprays. If it is the white foam, I will no longer be a PAM user.

Coats the pain evenly without the “foam” of the other brands, with no weird alcohol smell. Neutral taste and high smoke point so you can use it on anything. I drive to Whole Foods specifically to buy it.

BTW the two negative reviews should not be allowed here. They are obviously on some (highly misguided) crusade against canola oil in general and have nothing to do with this specific product.

Spectrum Naturals Canola Oil Spray is a great cooking spray. Keeps food from sticking. Is much better for your health. Makes clean up easy. Has a good taste. Not expensive. So where could you go wrong.

Corn oil vs vegetable oil. it is a lil tricky to work with. considering vegetable oil does take a little higher heat to work with over corn oil. its slightly healtheir but cooking in oil is never healthy anyways.

but far as corn oil. it does tend to heat up alil faster. its frying power is good on lower temperatures. overall i would say its a handy little oil to have in the kitchen.
