20 Best Oil For Pocket Knives (2022 Updated)

I use it to rust proof a knife with cpm m4 steel, this oil was highly recommended because other oils may not be good when cutting fruits or vegetables or anything edible. Takes very little to protect the blade.

Non sticky. Working great as advertised. Good quality and good price. Recommend.

Care of fine knives is a must. They can last generations with proper maintenance & this oil is the first step.

I have spent a lot of time evaluating my knives. Blade style, function, metal, and does it really work for my needs. Unless the blacksmith brings his wheel to the gun show, I use my diamond sharpeners and I’ll only use Smith’s Honing Oil.

It has never failed to provide a smooth balanced finish to my blades making them sharp enough to save with. A smooth sharp edge is required of blade and a honing oil must allow the blade to glide. Smith’s has me the goal for decades.

I have been using this for years. It works just great on my diamond stones. Don’t recommend it for regular abrasive stones. Oil based works better for them but I stopped using them when I bought my first diamond stone.

I was disappointed. It’s not the same oil as the original. But,that being said,I will use it because I have no other choice. Until I can find an old can somewhere. I’ll be looking for the original formula.

This was allot cheaper at O Riley’s vs other retailers. Used it to lube a pocket knife pivot and some reels as well. Great viscosity not too thin, not too thick. Nice medium light weight. Lucas oil makes great products!.

Works great. Tried it on some of my older penn reels and it did a great job.

This is a great oil for bearings in your fishing reel. Just a drop or two and done

It’s a nice sized can of a very useful solvent with some lubricating qualities. I use WD-40 for a lot of things, and this is a nice sized can for cheaper than just about anywhere. WD-40 is primarily a water repellent solvent.

It works well to dry out distributors (Back in the day when they had points and condensers inside of them) It works great as a tool preservative, if you spray the tool and wipe it with a paper towel that is also sprayed with WD-40 it will remove all the water and inhibit rust.

I don’t use it to lubricate hinges, either in buildings or vehicles, but it has a million uses besides that. (WD-40 will not last as long as some top-quality lubricants for hinges. The brand I use is Wurth HHS-K.

It sprays on, doesn’t run at all and you won’t need to re-lube the car door hinge for years. ) I do use WD-40 to loosen up frozen or just plain cruddy car door locks that don’t want to open. It is particularly useful at removing cheap price tags that have cuts in them so you cannot remove them in one piece.

Spray it with WD-40 and the tag will come right off a minute or two later. Then a tiny bit of dish soap will remove the WD-40. (Plates, glasses, cups, bowls, etc. etc. ).

I use a lot of WD-40 for many things from bolt/nut loosening to battery post protection. Spraying aluminum brackets and assemblies with WD prevent the white ‘rust’ aluminum gets (oxidation) as well. Spray it and rust has a holiday for a few months.

I use a qt spray bottle, shake it well before using (you can see an opaque white ‘layer’ settled at the bottle of the spray bottle) and you always have a fresh batch. I use the flexible nozzle can as well for targeted applications but the bulk sprayer is a great addition to the WD arsenal.

BTW, I transfer the gallon to a clothes soar or softener bottle with a pushbutton release to make refilling the qt bottle easier.

I really like this bag. I am a culinary student and part time personal chef. The bag that came with my student kit was the single zip, hard case Mercer. It was fine, but I quickly outgrew it. I needed space for many different knives and other utensils.

The bag description doesn’t really do it justice because I was under the impression it was a triple zip bag, that is true but it also has two additional full zip compartments and a smaller one as well.

In those two compartments I carry my aprons, chefs hat, digital scale, disposable gloves and any specialty ingredient I might need. Another thing I really like is the individual knife compartments are different widths so I can fit small items more snug.

I’m hoping I will be able to add several photos because I think once you see how much it will hold and at the price you can’t beat it! It is longer than my previous Mercer case and it barely fits in my backpack, kind of a pain to zip it all the way, but it does fit.

I love that this knife roll comes in different colors. The red is vibrant just like it is shown on the product description. Overall it is very large and versatile.

Mostly dry dusty conditions here. I have been using Rock N Roll Extreme (blue) for years now. Keeps the chain clean, good for several dry rides before needing to reapply. You can reapply and wipe excess of chain which cleans the chain quite a few times before really needing to get in and wash your drive train.

Colorado also dumps heavy rain at times. I have used this in very wet conditions and rain. Not sure if anything really works well with wet grit, sand and mud on the chain. The only thing I can say is once you get home it is really easy to wash and clean your drive train and chain when Rock N Roll was used in comparison to using a super wet condition chain formula which is usually sticky, greasy, waxy and hard to clean off.

Some of my friends have moved on to using another type of chain cleaner lubricant. They say it is better, but I didn’t have the time to investigate and bought into a 16oz bottle of Rock N Roll. This is good stuff and will be using it for as long as that bottle lasts which could be a couple years more.

Years ago, I think I tried every single lube available. If I hadn’t tried it, I’d buy it and see what it was like. I now occasionally try other stuff when I see something new, and I even tried hot wax for a while.

Hot wax was was pretty nice. but it wasn’t much good for more than a ride, and the work+time involved was not worth it for me. This is the next best thing; I never found another lube that suited mountain biking as well as this one.

It does “clean and lube”. Follow the instructions and you’ll be good to go. It does require more frequent application than some. it’s not a “lube your chain and forget about it until it squeaks” kind of lube.

but if you wanted that, you probably wouldn’t be reading lube reviews. That said, it’s super easy and fast. Using this product regularly will keep your chain clean and smooth with minimal work. Better chain longevity also.

If you’ve used softer stones, it will take only one use to love this one. This does a pristine job of smoothing metal and lets you sharpen without taking off more than is absolutely necessary. Does a great job and I am so glad I got this stone.

Bought this to fine tune fountain pen nibs. This stone is perfect for that purpose.

Excellent pocket stone. The black surgical is a very fine stone and will put a nice, polished finish on your knives.

I tried a few before this oil. Nano Oil 85w, 3in1, Mineral Oil, Vaseline (LoL), and now Victorinox. The only one that felt good on my Huntsman was Victorinox. 3in1 oil felt gritty and made the action awful, Vaseline didn’t do anything, Mineral Oil is too thin, and Nano Oil doesn’t feel quite there.

However somehow Victorinox beats them all, go figure! I’ll probably end up using the Nano oil and Victorinox for everything going forward, but with how inexpensive the Victorinox is it’ll become my main.

There are many oils on the market for multi-tools but I like to use the Victorinox one for all my knives. Although it’s a small bottle you literally only need a drop on each tool/blade &, voilà, you’ve got a smooth operation.

I recently used it on a 1980s Economy Climber after swapping out the old scales to new ones. A clean in warm soapy water got rid of years of gunk &, after drying, a few drops of the multi-tool oil got the blades operating as smoothly as they did on the day it was made.

This the factory recommend oil for Swiss Army knives. The key difference from generic oil is this is food grade oil, so it claims, assuming you will use the SAK to cut fruits or edibles at some time.

The dropper makes it easy to deploy. I tried making my own, it will cost $5 to buy a bulk set of eye dropper bottles, and $10 to get a small bottle of castor oil, which is similar and non-gunking. Overall cheaper in the long run per oz, if you use a lot of oil, otherwise its wasted.

So the tiny SAK is cost effective for use with pocket knives. Just use regular oil on your other multitools.

Its blue! Its slick! It works good on my old school auto. Stimulus thats it. Just got it but have wanted one forever. Carried Axis Folder with the same Pardue shape/size blade for years. Wanted part aerated but the straight has its advantages.

Anyway, give her a bath in warm water and dish soap. Get the lint out. Air duster whatever. Dry then a couple dots in the right spots. Perfect unfold everytime. Locks/unlocks better I mean smoother. Makes button not feel crunchy.

Crunchy is bad. My buddy said its a dry lube and come to think Of it Ive had none run out period. Its clean to use. No grease marks on my pants yet. It is like blue fountain pen ink in appearance. ??? So may be.

I will probably give it a try with other folders that I usually use Frog Lube or WWII light machine oil. Benchmade is nothing but quality from my experience and Im in love with this auto. Its a pocket knife+ Classic.

Greasy grease makes it work right.

I like this Blue Lube. It works really well on my Benchmade knife. One suggestion that I would offer to users, when opening the end of the spout don’t cut it, instead, use a pin or needle to puncture the end.

That way, the opening will be smaller and you can control the flow of oil better without squirting oil all over. Great product.

This oil works as advertised. The viscosity is perfect for keeping it where it needs to be. I have used it on half a dozen knives so far with excellent results.

We love this product. It smells so good. I use it in my wax warmer for our sinus congestion and to kill the germs in our home. We rub it on our chest and back for congestion and swelling. If you have a headache rub it on your forehead, temples, the back of your neck, anywhere that is swollen and hurting.

I hate being without it.

I think its very similar to the young living. I use the spray bottle a friend gave me to spray it on my hands and inhale. it kills bacteria and smells amazing. the price is great. shipped fast. would recommend.

Their title and description said “Compare to Thieves Oil by Young Living” but this is NOTHING like it! It may have a drop of the 5 main oils but it’s lacking the ratios to make it effective, especially lacking in clove and rosemary.

Save your money and buy a different brand.

I have a Fellowes shredder for home use. All all these 2 years I have been ignorant that its needs frequent oiling for optimal purpose. I realized the shredder is deteriorating in performance with paper getting stuck each time.

It is then i decided to read the manual and was enlightened that how important it is to keep it oiled. I wanted to go for a branded one instead of going for a cheap ones available. Was glad when I saw the Fellowes brand.

Pros. 1. As this is sold by Fellowes, you know this is just right for your Fellowes shredder. Do not take a chance with the cheaper options available. 2. It was packed well and safe by Amazon. 3. Its a quite a big bottle and will last for months based on how frequent use.

4. The red cap snaps on the tip and prevents the oil from spills. 5. The performance of my shredder has increased since I used it. It is less noisy and give better performance. I now realized its a must have.

Cons. 1. The tip on the bottle is sealed and will need to cut open with a scissor. You will not realize this and may accidentally cut it lower and end up spilling lot more oil when using. Make sure you just pierce the nozzle.

Overall very glad that i purchased this. I now know how important it is to keep the shredder oiled and this one is an excellent quality. I will recommend this.

We all know machines will be destroyed if you skip out on maintenance or lubrication. If you have an office or care about anything, this is an inexpensive dose of preventative maintenance for your shredder.

Every time you dump out the tray just drizzle a sheet of paper with this magic dinosaur juice, sandwich another sheet on top of the oil so you dont drip any on your nice new shoes or moms carpet then feed it into your shredder so the fun keeps going.

If you do this, your shredder will work better and you wont burn out the motor. That used to happen to me and this oil will stop it. Its a machine with closefitting moving parts. OF COURSE it works better with lubricationThis bottle will last a long time and its cheaper than the others.

Perfect for a home office or small business. Comes in a handy rectangular bottle with a nozzle and a little cap that clicks on a light machine oil in a handy applicator bottle is a useful thing anywhere and fits nicely on a shelf or in a drawer.

We have an old shredder which was not working as well as it had in the past. We never used shredded oil as the instruction booklet does not indicate a need to do so. I checked prices of new shredders and we decided to see if we used this oil if we could get the shredder working better.

We used this oil and now the shredder is working fine. We plan to use the shredder oil on a regular basis to keep the shredder going!.

Use it on an old (japanese slip joint knife ) from the1960s and a few other knives that I own and it did a decent job. Polished up the newer stuff well (the older knives still kept most of there patina but look much nicer and I am very happy with the out come).

The diamond plate sharpener works decently well at sharpening few of my blades. It won’t replace my Smith’s Field Sharpener or wet stone but will work in a pinch. All in all I would recommend this product as a good all a round knife maintenance solution.

This knife was found 30 yrs ago in a cabin in Canada. Then spent the last 3 yrs in the damp basement. It was completely corroded and now there is some clean metal showing. Which is why I gave it 4 stars.

I didnt think that was possible. This product did all it could do. I plan on trying my Dremel with this product. If there is great improvement, I’ll post new pics.

Good, light, synthetic oil for fishing reels.

I gave it a 3, just for having the T6 torx bits, unless you specifically buy a precision set of bits, you dont typically find bits this small. I also liked that the tool box itself, could be used as a tool.

My problem came, when BOTH of the T6 bits actually twisted, & almost snapped in half. They twisted with minimal effort, while swapping the clip to the opposite side on my 9400 Osborne. Coming from BenchMade, I would have thought theyd be stronger.

Good value overall. Nice convenient kit — but this is for quick fixes/emergencies. Not designed to be a regular, handyman’s tool. For example, the smallest bit (T6) is not very strong. When I tightened my knife with it, that T6 bit broke.

Others were fine. I emailed the vendor and they sent me a replacement right away. So yes – it’s good for what it is. But if you need an everyday, super durable set of torx bits, this is not designed for that purpose.

I collect knives but sometimes, some screws just comes loose and make the knife kind of unusable. I have some butterfly knives as well and some of them are really loose and I really needed to tighten it so I bought this kit.

I found out about Best Line from hearing Perry talk with the Snail Trail 4×4 podcast. I was very skeptical at first, about the product. There are hundreds of additives that are on the market. It was until Snail Trail 4×4 did the lubricity test with the torque wrench that I decided to make the purchase.

I bought the 1 gallon oil additive when it was on sale, as well as the water wetter, and the transmission treatment. I have 4 different vehicles that I put Best Line in. 3 are brand new cars, and I really didn’t notice a huge difference.

At least not yet. I am waiting for the next oil change to send my oil off for tests. The amazing difference that I noticed though was with m 96 ram 1500. Normally after an oil change, the new oil would get oxidation in the oil fairly quickly and turn brown.

After putting Best line in the truck, my oil, now a few thousand miles later still looks close to the same as it did when I put it in there. The truck runs idle smoother, and simply just runs smoother.

I was blown away with how well it works in the truck. I added the transmission additive in the truck, and now it shifts smoother, and all around just makes the truck fun to drive again. I would and have recommended this product to anyone.

One more thing that really is a selling point for me is that Perry is a wonderful person and really cares about his product. His customer service is top notch, and isn’t afraid of putting his name to the test.

If you are skeptical about this product I assure you that it really helps and works as you can see it has more positive reviews than negative and any negative reviews on it is because their not mechanly inclined or knowledgeable or have issues with their cars already.

I’ve used this for my 2011 Nissan Maxima/ 2017 Toyota Corolla LE I noticed after I changed the oil ( I use AMS OIL in both ) and I add bestline oil to the new oil In both motors they idle smoothly and quietly than before.

I also noticed a change in MPG as well. I highly recommend this product just make sure you can use it in your compatible vehicle read the back! But in conclusion product de puts out as intended !.

I have tried this in 3 vehicles: my wife’s Ford Expedition SUV, my daughter’s GMC Terrain SUV, and a Ford Transit Van. I was amazed at the improvement in fuel mileage. The wife’s Expedition went from 20 MPG to 24 MPG.

Also, the Ford Dealership that services the vehicle told us that the bearings on the Eco-Boost turbochargers were going bad; that was 6 months ago. At the last routine service (to change the spark plugs), the tech said the turbochargers were working great.

My daughter’s Terrain went from 22 MPG to 26 MPG. The van went from 18 MPG to 26 MPG. Also, when stopped at a traffic signal and the AC was going, it would sometimes die. That no longer happens, and the engine runs noticeably smoother.

Some reviewers (on Amazon) indicate that the vehicles do not run as hot or that the vehicle takes longer to warm up. I have not noticed this. But the increased fuel mileage more than offsets the cost of this product.

I will continue to use this in all of my vehicles.

I have used this case for over 4 months now and I am very pleased with the purchase. This is high quality construction and a user-friendly design. The stitching is strong and the velcro doesn’t clog or wear.

The only thing i would like to see different is a couple of larger slots here and there. Perhaps just two for wide-handled knives or tongs. I pack this thing full and it has treated me well every day of use.

I LOVE AOTR products. Even if you’re not into magic, if you love beautiful, earthy scents, I’d recommend this company. Fiery Wall of Protection oil smells strongly of cinnamon and earthy herbs. It’s what I’d imagine a sexy witch nestled in a moss-covered cabin in the woods would smell like.

The date on the back shows you when it was hand-bottled, and you can see a variety of herbs floating around. So the packaging itself is absolutely enchanting! I use this as perfume, and it lasts all day.

I’m also a little witchy, so I use it for spiritual purposes on occasion. Overall: this is a gorgeous perfume.

I bought the oil for my boyfriend as he was battling for years with family law court. I was skeptical but want to give the oil a try. The judge did listen and will give him his decision in a few days.

Well, he got a letter and the judge ruled in his favor. First time victory for him. He told me the oil works! Will continue to use the oil for the next one. My boyfriend also mentioned that the oil smells so good as he dabbed it on himself and the papers.

This smells amazing. It has a strong peppermint scent but with herbs. But, I haven’t really seen any changes in my life with this oil yet. Idk I was kind of disappointed at first but, maybe it’s because I’ve only applied this oil on my body and I haven’t done any candle work or spiritual baths with it.

It works great for cleaning all moving parts for all my folder knives. If you have ever heard of “Simple Green” cleanser it is the same thing. “Bluelube Cleanser” even smells just the same as “Simple Green”, except “Bluelube is blue in color.

My wife does not like the odor, so I have to use the product in the garage.

I am very satisfied with the Blue lube cleanser. In combination with the Blue lube oil it makes the job of cleaning and lubricating a lot easier to clean all my EDCs!

It’s a great cleaner for Benchmade’s wonderful knives. I consider it a good value at a reasonable price.
