20 Best Oil For Skin Acne (2022 Updated)

This was my first product from Sunday Riley. It was recommended to me by the Real Skincare Discussion. I started to get more acne and breakouts as I got older, but I was put on prescription creams for them.

I believe this is why my skin disliked this serum. I started very slowly with a small patch test, and when I worked up to my whole face, I broke out everywhere. Although I used the prescription cream and this serum at opposite times of the day, I think it was simply too much for my skin.

Either that or my face cannot tolerate one or more of the ingredients. However, I have found that if I use it on body acne as a light spot treatment, it does help with size and redness. I have been using the serum on my boyfriend’s face instead (always putting it in my clean hands first) and any breakouts, clogged pores and blackheads have noticeably improved with this.

He gets compliments on his skin all the time, but I don’t get any of the credit for introducing him to this or any type of skincare routine at all lol. Overall, definitely a great product to try if you have acne, blackheads, clogged pores and would like to clear up your skin without stripping it of moisture.

I am delighted from the first day I use it, I notice a lot of difference. I had my acne very high and I have been using it for 1 month and it has already been almost completely removed.

My all time favorite product right now. Works great to minimize my acne and make my skin feel so clean and tingly at night. Best product by far for someone with acne products.

I have been using this for almost 2 months. My rosacea is gone. My acne scar redness from broken capillaries is almost nonexistent. This heals my acne before it begins. I havent had any acne scars since using it.

Its healing my skin. I use it as a night serum and add water to it for extra moisture. This has helped with burns, bug bites and scrapes. Definitely miracle oil. I am use to the earthy smell and thickness.

I love it.

This Tamanu oil is top quality and the real deal. It really does live up to its name as an overnight miracle oil. It has helped my acne and eczema significantly in addition to a no sugar and very limited flour diet.

I prefer this oil and this brand of it to any other oils for skin care. I will be buying more of this brand for sure.

I have fragile, sun damaged skin, that is prone to small. dry, itchy, patches sometimes. They are difficult to clear up. This Tamanu does the job nicely.

I don’t often write reviews, but the Meltdown Acne Oil worked so well for me that I wanted to share. In general my skin is dry and a little sensitive, so acne wasn’t my primary skin concern as a teen.

However, if I neglected washing my face consistently or some other environmental factor led to the rare pimple, it took FOREVER to heal and often left a light scar. In my 20s health issues began affecting my hormones and led to cystic acne on my chin that I couldn’t seem to shake for several years.

Most acne treatments were way too harsh for my sensitive skin or the routine too complicated/intensive that I had trouble sticking to it long term. I read so many great things about Meltdown, I decided to try it.

I apply it every night to clean, dry skin followed by a lightweight moisturizer and after washing in the morning, if needed. Not only is my cystic acne significantly reduced after two months of use, but if I do see the start of something (maskne happens), I simply apply this day and night instead of night only for a few days, and it stops the zit from progressing and eventually disappears.

If I do make the mistake of picking (I know. we aren’t supposed to), I can still apply this without damaging my skin, and it actually seems to help/speed up the healing. If you only want to buy one product to treat your cystic acne, I recommend this one! Last note: I agree with other reviewers that the pump dispenses way too much and the packaging could be improved.

My fix was to transfer the product to a little 1/2 oz. glass bottle with a dropper (less than 2 dollars at the Container Store, pictured below). Now I can just dispense the one drop I need to cover my chin and nose.

I bet it will take me a year to use the whole bottle, even with daily use.

I have struggled with acne for over ten years, and I have had a very difficult time finding a product that moisturizes my skin while healing and fighting acne; this product has solved that problem. I’ve been using this product for over a year now and my skin has improved significantly.

I was on birth control for ten years to help with my hormonal acne, but I decided to stop taking birth control last year and my acne came back in full force. I tried several different products, and did not want to get back on the harsh prescription products, so I found this and gave it a shot.

I also began taking an herbal supplement for hormonal acne when I began using this product, and the combination of the two cleared up my acne. They have recently modified the formula; at first I was skeptical when I noticed the difference in the scent, but then I realized that the scent has a stronger blue tansy oil smell now, which is arguably the most effective (and most expensive) ingredient in the formula so I was happy to know they are improving the formula rather than cutting costs to save money.

I’ve been using the new formula for over a month now and my skin still looks and feels so much healthier; the change in formula did not cause me to break out at all. I’m very happy with this product and look forward to continuing to support this woman-owned business!.

I’ve tried so many products for breakouts that by the time I came across this one, I wasn’t confident it would make a difference. Wow, was I wrong and I had never been so happy to be wrong!! I started using this oil mixed with my nighttime moisturizer and within days my active breakouts were gone.

I could definitely see results waking up the next morning after use. The real test came when my hormonal acne would come…and NOTHING. Then, this past week I skipped it for 3 days and the breakouts were coming back, and when I reintroduced it, they were gone just as fast.

I am so impressed by this product. It’s so easy to use and the results speak volumes. I’ve been wearing a full-coverage face of makeup for 8+ years, and this past month, I’ve been able to reach for sheer coverage every day! The most amazing feeling.

On the note of the smell…it’s definitely herbal, but I got used to it and I notice that the scent fades within 30 mins of application. Acne is such a personal problem and everyone’s journey to clear skin is so different, but I absolutely recommend this product to everyone!!.

I love Manuka Oil because it does miracles on my skin. I have had acne for a long time and one in a while I get really bad breakouts but this oil takes away the inflammation, redness and eventually clears my skin.

You can see how it lessens inflammation right the next day but it does take a while to clear your skin. But it does if you are patient. Another awesome thing is does not irritate your skin like other “strong” products.

I ordered NZ Country because of the boils I had been suffering with. When I researched boil treatments on the internet this product was recommended. I thought Id tried so many treatments why not try one more.

I had relief in the first day. It did take about a week for most of the boils to disappear. What a relief.

Really does a good job on toe fungus. The only bad thing I have to say about it is it smells bad. As long as you have your shoes on, no one will know.

I warm a few drops, literally only 2-4 drops, in my palms, breathe in, then gently pat on to my clean face, and since I have the toner spritz, I use that, too. I’ve had great results with this oil-no breakouts, absorbs nicely, smells good, applies evenly, makes my face softer, but the price is beyond my reach even though I’m sure it would last a really long time.

Other than the price, the bottle is problematic. Fortunately, I have empty bottles with dropper-tops that fit this size, and so I changed the lid. If you don’t have a dropper-top that fits, getting a small amount without touching palms to the bottle can be really messy.

The openness of the top means it can spill quickly if knocked over (happens more often with households that have kitties who jump on to the vanity and reaching kiddos, so be careful). I would definitely consider this purchase.

I’ve been battling terrible cystic acne for a few years now in my early twenties. Lately I’ve been too scared to even use a moisturizer even though I need to to keep skin healthy. It’s a paradox. But finally I got this oil and my skin loved it! My skin is so calm and moisturized and glowy now.

Amazing product and best ingredients.

i have oily/acne prone skin and have been using many different oils over the years – this one just seemed to sit on my skin and didn’t absorb at all, and my face just felt oily all day. And i do exfoliate daily, so that wasnt the issue.

I didn’t break out from it or have any reactions, but (especially for the price) i would definitely not purchase a full size. I’ve gotten other oils in my boxes that i’ve liked a lot better.

I waited until after 3 cans of this “tea tree balm” before writing a review. Warning this stuff is ADDICTIVE. I mean, I started off applying it to rough ashy area’s of my skin not thinking much of it.

Also had a couple of ringworms from work. This stuff actually scared me!!!! It works so fast,yet it’s so gentle,so aggressive. Healed my dark chocolate skin tone within a couple of days. Lip balm,lotion substitute,razor bump remedy what can’t this stuff do? I don’t see to many men glorifying skin care products,its usually their wives or another female in their lives.

I bought this product from Amazon. It had good reviews and I was looking for something that would calm my skin while providing moisture and aid my acne. You only need a little product at a time so it lasts a long time.

It had a strong sent that I didn’t care for. The texture felt too much like a film for me as well. So it actually did the opposite of what I wanted. I found it very drying yet occlusive and I ended up getting more pimples while using it.

It did however work okay as a spot treatment on my body when I broke out from an allergic reaction to something else.

I’ve had moderate acne for about two years now. I eat healthy, have good hygiene, and have normal hormones, but yet it persisted. I’ve tried a number of different products with no success. This cream is the only thing that has made a CONSISTENT difference.

Aside from during my period, I no longer have acne!! The cream appears to be an emollient, so it is neither watery nor oily. It is full of both evidence based and botanical compounds. Pretty much everything people use for acne is in this single formula.

My face is ridiculously sensitive and I have spent so much time and money trying to find a moisturizer that didn’t irritate my skin. Thankfully I found the argon oil blend. My face loves it and I don’t have to worry about as many breakouts or sensitivity rashes.

I don’t usually write reviews but I would want someone to tell me what worked for them to spare me from spending on products that would not work me. It’s the last day of the spring sale so take advantage of it! Today makes it a week that I have used this product & I have already seen a change in my skin.

I suffered from “mascne” since the pandemic started so I was constantly finding new pimples on my face. My face felt dull, textured, & left blemish scars to my cheeks, chin, & even forehead! I’ve repurchased this oil multiple times. If you are someone who enjoys facial oils this is a MUST for your skincare routine. I personally like to use this during the day or night. If i wear this at night i like to use it with a thicker moisturizer.

I typically apply my oils as a first step. Just works better for me even though i know they say to apply it last. Lightweight, great for acne prone skin, really CALMS my skin down. Doesnt clog pores if you’re worried about that.

The scent is natural & lovely not to be mistaken for fragranced. It’s good for transitioning between seasons aswell from winter to spring. Overall its one of those oils thats a go to for lightweightedness.

Its pricey but you wont regret it. Its a top 5 for me.

I purchased this as a supplement for when my dry skin feels a little parched. It absorbs quickly, even when used in tandem with other moisturizers, and imparts a healthy glow without leaving a greasy residue.

I also use it to calm irritation that occurs after a sugar scrub and before mud masks. I’ve used oils costing hundreds of dollars and this is one of my all time faves!.

UPDATE****When I received my argan oil it had spilled in its shipped package, but I still gave a review because it smelled so wonderful. I didn’t ask for a replacement but Garner’s Garden sent me a replacement.

I have a weird combination of very dry, yet very acne-prone skin. This oil really locks in moisture, but doesn’t clog my pores and cause more acne. I love it. Lightweight, yet effective. Awesome.

I was looking for a thieves oil blend that didn’t cost a fortune. I found Four Gurus and figured I’d give it a try. I absolutely LOVE it. A tiny fraction of the price of what other companies charge with all of the antiviral & antimicrobial benefits of this blend that originated in the 14th century.

This new formulation and renaming of “4 Thieves” is very disappointing. I bought a double order for a discount on one of the 2 bottles because I had so liked the other order I had from them. It’s an overwhelming cinnamon & cloves scent, not at all what the original fragrance was.

I can’t use it in any form. I’ve added other scents to try to improve it but it is too strong to be influenced by another scent.

This is SUCH a great brand of essential oils!! I use the lavender so often that I ran out of it way faster than any others and had to buy the largest size. They all smell great and the company/customer service is wonderful! I get emails after I order asking me if I’ve received them yet and how I like them.

After moving from the Midwest to Phoenix, AZ, my skin started to get rather dry. I started using a brand new moisturizer (it was not from The Body Shop), but while my skin became hydrated, it also started to break out much more frequently than normal.

I’m talking weeks of my waking up with new whiteheads, pimples, or small red blemishes covering my face. I ditched the moisturizer, but my skin was slow to recover. A friend of mine told me about tea tree oil and its benefits for irritated, pimply skin, and oh.

my. goodness. It works SO WELL. Within a few weeks, my skin FINALLY started to clear up and go back to how it was before all of the breakouts happened. I also found that the oil helps to hydrate it, so I didn’t even have to worry about dry skin.

I loved the oil so much, I picked up other items from the tea tree collection as well (such as the toner, mattifying lotion, and anti-imperfection night mask), and between all of them, my skin is nearly blemish-free.

I am now on my second bottle of the oil (it lasts for well over a month). Props to my friend, and props to The Body Shop and their tea tree oil collection. If you have problem skin, I would definitely recommend it!.

Does this cure a blemish, yes! Will it prevent more from happening, I don’t know. I recommend this product because it cured my boyfriend’s stubborn acne. He used this everyday after washing his face with Clean Clear.

I was amazed at how clear and bright his face was afterwards! However, my skin is a lot more sensitive than his and after I used it for a few weeks, my skin was burning from the tea tree and I had to wash my face with cold water, so I stopped.

He loves this and has much thicker skin than I do. I recommend this to anyone who is looking to deep cleanse their tired complexion, as well as improve their acne-prone skin! A miracle lotion for acne.

This is absolutely amazing in regards to spots and scarring, however , the oil control for excessively oily skin, simply does not work. Intact I’d say I was more oily than usual which isn’t great when you produce SO much anyway.

For this reason i used only at night. The scrub and astringent is great too. Back on the hunt for a moisturiser for extremely oily skin, for under makeup.

I have hormonal acne and I have a combination oily skin. My acne started in 2018 and I have been battling this acne since then. I usually get breakouts on my forehead and chin where I think is the most oily on my skin.

The t-zone they say. The acnedote by Alba essentials is the only acne products that works for me. Since 2018, I was trying different acne treatment products, may it be facial cleanser, toner, cream, etc etc.

Nothing worked except this product. So, what the 3 products ( deep pore wash, deep clean astringent and oil control lotion) do is basically stop my face from excreting too much oil. So I don’t get an oily face anymore even though I put different serums and moisturizer with sunscreen on top of my oil control lotion and I tell you this products kept my face oil free all day.

I use them in the morning and right before bed. I usually in bed at 11pm, so I used the product maybe at 10 hours before I reapply them. I really appreciate this product so much and I will continue using them until I get rid of my acne scars.

I’m absolutely in love with this product! It has a delicious, slightly liquorice-y smell. I’ve actually had a friend compliment how my face smelled after hugging me. After I’d been wearing the product all day and at the end of a long shift at work, nonetheless.

I was pretty hesitant about using it under my make-up as I’ve always found any kind of moisture based product makes my powder foundation appear super cakey and gross throughout the day. However, this oil actually makes my make-up look BETTER! I’m so used to my fight with acne being two steps forward during the night, one step back during the day due to wearing make-up and concealer.

I’ve actually noticed my skin has been IMPROVING throughout the day since I’ve started using this. Highly recommend it as a primer for gorgeous skin!.

Review will be a little long!!! Absolutely love this stuff and it has completely helped to change my skin!!! I was using high end cleansers before and noticed over the years that if I washed my face at night then my eyes would be so puffy in the morning.
