20 Best Oil For Toyota 4Runner (2022 Updated)

I have used this product in my ‘Diesel’ (non two stroke) since its second oil change and at 66K and 11 seasons, I would say it’s doing its job. This is a semi synthetic oil, which my owners manual says is suitable for my engine, but do check your manual before you start using the full synthetic.

In a conversation with the Motul people at Laguna a few years back, I asked the oil life expectancy of this product. They recommended around 5200-5500 K is the max a consumer should go, so that works out to a season for most of us.

First time I changed my oil on my 2011 Triumph ST3 since I got it about a year ago. First thing I noticed was that it shifts SO MUCH more smoothly. Especially when shifting into second from red line in first, I used to really have to shift hard to make sure it engaged 2nd gear and didn’t stay in neutral for an inadvertent rev bomb.

I immediately noticed on this new oil that it went into second with much less force and the transmission picked up right where it left off. I put Motul in my 2007 Porsche Cayman S per the shop that I used, and I’m sure it’s better but I can’t say I noticed a difference over Mobil 1.

But on this bike, it was absolutely noticeable over whatever was in the bike before.

Valvoline’s motor oils have always performed well in all of my vehicles and outdoor/ yard equipment. In all honesty, consistent, timely service probably has more weight than the brand you use, in actually influencing the longevity of the vehicle (among other factors).

But, it doesn’t hurt to have a top rated oil for the job in between drain intervals; for the 0w-20 grade, it’s automatically a full synthetic in any brand. And industry standards have seriously improved the formula for mainstream motor oils in just the last 2-3 years.

According to online expert review sites, only Amsoil, Royal Purple, and maybe a couple other less known brands are higher rated; but, they are much higher priced, especially Amsoil’s top line. In my opinion, they’re not worth the price for the average Joe.

You decide for yourself. Valvoline does Not even give a mileage rating: smart, because vehicles can really vary from one to the other, how you drive, clmate, and a host of other factors. We drive exclusively Japanese branded cars, and this extended protection grade holds up a little better than Valvoline’s Advanced synthetic for longer drain intervals, typically between 5 to 10 thousand miles, and not longer than 6 months.

The Honda CRV 2. 4 liter sees only 10-12 thousand miles a year, so twice a year. The Toyota Highlander 3. 5 runs 25 thousand miles yearly, so change every 3-4 months. We live in a very hilly area, and drive mostly locally.

I have been changing my own oil for 20 years and still remember a time when Synthetic oil was a new technology I change the oil in my 2007 GMC Envoy around 5000 miles (roughly 4 months of driving). I usually use the Walmart brand (Super Tech) full synthetic oil.

I could easily go longer, but tend to change it when when the oil starts to look dirty on the dipstick. I wanted to compare it with this Valvoline Extended Protection Full Synthetic oil. To begin with, Super Tech oil is manufactured by Warren Petroleum and is a high quality fully synthetic oil that does not thicken in the cold.

It is DEXOS approved, which means it has met the latest government and auto manufacturer standards. The Valvoline oil meets these same standards as well, and looks almost exactly the same as the Super Tech as seen in the pictures (sorry about the shadows).

The difference lies in the additives that Valvoline uses to “extend” the life of the oil. The Valvoline website says that these additives prevent the “breakdown” of the oil and that this has been proven by industry testing.

The Valvoline oil also contains detergents. The claims do seem to be proven and genuine. There is definitely a lot of research and testing and technology at work here. The “Extended Protection” technology is here and it is measurable In conclusion, it is safe to say that the Valvoline is a step up from the Super Tech full synthetic oil, but that that difference brings huge increase in price.

I am not completely sold on the Valvoline yet, because it is so expensive and I am comfortable changing my oil frequently, but if you can afford it I say go for it!.

I have used Valvoline engine oils since I owned my first car when I was 18. Before that my old man has used it since as long as I can remember. I have gone from Maxlife blend in my older higher mileage cars (88 Dodge Caravan and 96 Hyundai Accent) to SynPower, now known as Advanced Full Synthetic in my newer cars (2009 Suzuki SX4, 2016 Toyota Rav4, and 2022 Cadillac XT5).

In all my years of using these oils my engines have always ran like the day I have taken the car home brand new with never any issues related to the engines themselves regardless of the engine manufacturer.

This oil has advanced well throughout the years getting better and better and has always done a phenomenal job in maintaining the reliability in all my car engines. I give my car oil changes every 6 months before the extreme seasons of winter and summer so they have a fresh batch for the coldest and hottest days.

Best protection for extreme temperatures. I also started using other Valvoline lubricants for other components like the differentials for the AWD system and the transmission fluid. Valvoline is a safe bet and among the best of the best you can give your beloved workhorse.

Valvoline Blue is the recommended oil by Cummins, and I want the very best for my baby. In the winter, I use a lower viscosity oil like 10w30 for easier starts in cold weather. The sooner the oil can get around the rings upon starting, the less wear on the engine.

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Treat your vehicles well and they will treat you well in return.

My m8 luvs this oil, it rates btr then most synthetic oils by European oil standards. Its become my favorite choice. They’ve been making oil 4 a very long time…

Change my Harley-Davidson from full synthetic to this product. Better oil pressure from the start. Ill be getting more

My mechanic recommended this lube. Stuff works good. I change the oil filter at 2500 miles, then change all at 5000. No need for a funnel with this container. Designed for V twins.

com / forums knowledge people. “Eneos Sustina 0W-20” being the 1st most recommended and is obviously lot more expensive! So money wise this is one of the best, to me an overall winner. I bought “Eneos Sustina 0W-20” but have not use it yet as I am under warranty so also will get FREE oil put in from dealer.

I am using this “Genuine Toyota Full Synthetic 0W-20” in my car right now for daily driving (bought 2nd quantity for backup, refill and future oil change), no noticible feel, noise difference and as feel concern it is as good as OEM; if you want to be technical visit those forum, study and compare their oil analysis and if you are even more into this do your own oil lab test and then compare!.

IšverstiShow in original languageI’m not mechanical and purchased this based on other reviews. I added it to my Westinghouse WGen9500DF 12,500/9,500-Watt Dual Fuel Portable Generator. I ran my generator after Ida and had no problems.

I’ll used this oil because I do know that STP has been around for a very long time and has always been the oil of choice back in the days.

But when got home and look at are generator it takes 2 stroke oil with gas.

I bought this as my usual Mobil Super 3000 X1 wasn’t available. Differences, if any, are negligible. At four litres this is the more expensive alternative. Purchased with the trade card which nowadays is near on useless due to the lack of discount it gives in comparison to about a year ago.

I use this in my 2009 1. 6 Mazda 3 which is just shy of 130,000 miles.

Sooo goood. Car loves it. 0-60 now 3 seconds quicker and it’s added 20mph to my top end speed. High recommended . Mpg has also improved by 30% . This stuff is the shizz

I looked but could not find this oil in a store near me. One call to O’Reilly’s and it was on it’s way for pick-up. Stopped by the store near me later that day and pick up the oil. End of story. No drama no problem.
