Great oil. Made two cutting boards. Applied several coats to each. Seems to do a great job. Will purchase a third bottle for maintenance.

Just used this oil for the first time on my new cutting board Went on nice and easy. Looks nice and left a nice smooth surface.

Works as advertised. You need very little oil to restore wooded utensils. Unlike other oils, this one specifically says food safe,

DO NOT BUY FROM HERE!!!!! The creams/oils are VERY VERY VERY old. They were made in 2015. The cream is so old and hard it will not come out the tube. And it smells like cigarettes. It’s terrible. I’m returning ASAP.

And calling and reporting them for selling this old garbage. The cutting board came all busted up because there was zero protection. ZERO. Just thrown in a box. Do not buy from here.

Best stuff on the market for keeping your wood cutting boards, bowls, counters in perfect condition. I previously purchased from another vendor and this is the first time I ordered it on Walmart. com.

I was pleased with how quickly it arrived and in great shape. I will definitely plan to order again from this vendor. By the way, this stuff really lasts a LONG time. A little truly goes a long way.

I have been using this on all 3 of my cutting boards ever since I got it. I have used mineral oil in the past, but this seems to work a lot better. My Shun board, in particular, was dry and dusty feeling before I used it, but it’s getting a nice patina (for lack of a better word) now.

I also like the squirt bottle to get it on the board. Not messy at all, like the mineral oil was. I recommend this product completely!.

I have been using this product for a number of years. I do clean my wood cutting board after I use it (some people just wipe theirs off). Depending on what I use it for I may just rinse the board off with water or may wash it more thoroughly with dish soap and water.

So to keep it looking nice and prevent it from drying out I have been using Snow River Wood Oil on a regular basis. Gives the cutting board a beautiful appearance. I have had the same cutting board for a long time and it looks like new after using Snow River.

I make 40-50 wood pieces a year that require wood oil. I use this product exclusively. I purchase 32 ounce bottles to use in my shop, but I usually include an 8 ounce bottle of Snow River with the product to get the customer started out right to preserve the piece.

The oil soaked in and penetrated well. Very easy to apply. I have not given the product the test of time, but am well on my way with that. Will provide additional information after about six months. Looks great!.

Worked well like all of the General Finishes products I have used. I used it on an alder cutting board. It really soaked it up. There’s enough left to re-oil it many more times. I did two coats on both sides.

I wore gloves just to make clean up easier.

I applied this to my brand new Boos Edge Cherry Cutting board, and allowed it to seep in overnight. I applied it to one side, including the edges and inside the handle area then repeated the process to the other side the next day.

I use the cream on my board twice a year, following that same routine, overnight each side. Every six weeks, I apply the John Boos OIL to a cleaned board. My cutting board is now 5 years old and in excellent condition.

This is a great product and I highly recommend that it be the first step when purchasing a new cutting board and then be used alternately with the oil to maintain the wood.

I use this product and really like it but this ad looks like you get 5 bottles. It is desceptive. I was reluctant because I have always paid more than the per bottle price. I didn’t catch it until I checked out and saw one item.

Luckly I was able to cancel my order. I guess the old saying is true. if it looks to good to be true it probably isn’t.

I have used Tung Oil purchased from Real Milk Paint Co. since fall 2008. I use it on Greenland kayak paddles made from Western Red Cedar, Eastern White Cedar, Spruce, and Pine. From the raw wood, it takes 5 coats to get a glossy, hard, waterproof coating.

The technique is to wipe with a paper towel after coating, then leave in the bright sun. for at least 15 minutes each side. Reciting is needed after three or more months of paddling (approximately 300 miles of [paddling, at the least).

Paddling is in both fresh and salt water. I note a change in the product over the years. Initially, one 2008, I could leave a thicker coat on the paddle when putting it in the sun to cure. It would still harden and not be sticky.

But over the years, it got to where I had to wipe off the excess oil or it would stay tacky. Also, back in 2008, I could go to 7 or more coats, just to make it look nicer. doing that now causes tackiness.

This is with light sanding between coats with 320 paper. I expect this has to do with the environmental factors where the trees grow, as the produce is pure. This is not a problem, just a curiosity. Some Greenland kayakers recommend other types of oil.

I have not tried anything else, since all of the other types a mixtures containing some toxic products, are more complicated to apply, and are not as easily removed when it is time to refinish.

We are waiting to add three more coats and a 30 day cure time, so the tone in the photos will darken and get more consistent, if I can judge by a window-seat we did earlier. I am thrilled to have found the citrus solvent and tung oil finish for our 125 year old white oak (with lots of curly wood grain boards) at Milk Paint.

This company was recommended to me by a group of old house restorers on Facebook. Milk Paint is a class act in every way – great website, fast ship time, easy packaging and responsive and friendly customer service.

The product they offer here (tung oil) was used thousands of years ago but is a real breakthrough now for those of us who have had to live with toxic products and meh results for years. Our old floors are pretty now and will be gorgeous when finished.

Application could not be easier. We used brushes for doors and then two Dollar Store sponge mops and two buckets and brushes (and then skating around on the floor with old socks on -haha).

I used my CNC machine to V-Carve some wall plaques in Red Oak. Then I finished them with Black Walnut Danish Oil from Watco. The tint settled excellently in the carved text and gave the surface of the wood an excellent medium Oak color.

Additional coats were applied to some plaques to give them a dark Oak color. I did not apply a top coat/clear coat as the final cured surface had an excellent hand rubbed finish look. I did 1 additional plaque using the Light Walnut tint of this same Watco Danish Oil with a resulting light Oak color.

They were all Christmas presents and they went over big. I highly recommend this product as easy to use, though a bit messy, with stunning results.

I initially purchased this dye to treat a beech rifle stock and the result was perfect. In fact, it looked so good after applying just this dye that it almost looked like a french polish finish at that point.

I think being ethanol based really helps by not raising wood fibres like water based products can tend to do. The art is to apply liberally and then wipe off the excess with a cloth immediately to avoid creating ‘tide marks’.

No worry if any ‘tide marks’ appear as you just need to apply some more dye to move them and again wipe away the excess whilst it is all still wet. Stop the moment everything looks nicely even. Note you must only use this dye once so you must get the finish you want during that one rapid application.

Very rewarding.

I have 8 new un-finished internal oak doors. I didn’t want to varnish or paint them that’s not the look I wanted. I wanted something to seal the wood, prevent it drying out and protect it from knocks.

First, I tried Liberon liquid wax polish first but it wasn’t the finish I was looking for. Next I tried Liberon Superior Danish Wax. This gives a great finish. It’s really easy to apply I used a new paint brush to apply it.

You do need to put dust sheets down because it does drip a bit. After applying the second coat the effect was great. I had enough left to apply a third coat and the effect was great. It has bought out all the grain in the wood and left a sort of satin sheen.

I thoroughly recommend it to treat doors.

I use this oil on a pair of large hardwood gates (not Oak). It goes on very easily, doesn’t take long to apply, needs 2 applications per year and brings out the natural colour of the wood beautifully.

Once opened and used the oil needs to be decanted into (in my case wine bottles and glass jars) containers that leave no air in contact with the oil. If you don’t do this it solidifies over a period of time and becomes unusable.

The decanting is a small inconvenience, but is a price worth paying.

I ordered this Tung oil to use in refinishing a couple of old walnut rifle stocks (1932 and 1934). Preparation and patience is the key to success in using this product. Initial coats should be thinned and sanding/steel wool used between coats with adequate drying time allowed between coats.

Also, thin coats should be applied with adequate drying time allowed for between coats. The later coats which have little or no thinner will take longer to dry. At this point I am quite pleased with how the finish is coming along and look forward to the final product.

After searching the web for the best way and results to protect my kitchen butcher block that I had sanded down to clean wood, walnut oil was recommended. Rather than shop around, I went to Rockler on Rosemead in Pasadena, CA and bought a bottle.

I applied the oil per the instructions. Wow. What a GREAT finish! I suggest you don’t mess around with using mineral oil. Get walnut oil and enjoy having a beautiful protectant on wood that comes in contact with food.

I have used other. types of walnut oil, as food-safe finishes, in the past, to good effect on cutting boards. These other sources over time were no longer available near me. So I’ve tried the Mahoney’s walnut finish to similar good effect.

My only complaint is the expense it is almost twice as expensive as other walnut oils.

This is amazing stuff for finishing wood that is going to come in direct contact with food. I’d be careful using it on lighter shaded wood that is porous as it could darken the wood (just like water would) if it’s absorbed.

It’s SO easy to apply and gives a beautiful finish.

Used it on a brand new large acacia wood end grain cutting board. Applied a generous amount that the board soaked in easily and brought the timber color our beautifully. Great light scent. The before and after photos are attached – nothing else was added to the board.

In fact, in the before photo the spots are the oil soaking through from being applied on the other side – it penetrated over an inch! I got this great result and used less than an 1/8 of the bottle.

I have spent a lot of money on William Sonoma cutting boards. I here so many people complain that there cutting boards split. Using this oil is great to keep your cutting boards are in great shape.

I had missed getting this several times before. I needed it mainly for a hand made butcher block cutting board that our oldest boy made in shop class when he was 13 or 14 years old, he is now 62. I WORKED great, just like I knew it would.

I have several other wooden objects that the kids made for us. I’m in the process of treating those as well.

I use my husband’s old t-shirts to wipe off the oil and another t-shirt to buff. The sheen stays on for months and all I do is remove the dust with a duster. This works for me. It has really gone up in price and the bottle is a smaller size.

This mineral oil is great. it can be used for so many thing. I like to use it in my lotion. it is great for your skin. Also i have hard wood floors throughout my house and i use it to clean the floors it gives them an extra shine.

it also helps with creaky floors. I have an older house so alot of places int he hard wood squeak so a little of this mineral oil helps get rid of it. The is so many other things mineral oil can be used for.

i would recommend every one to keep some around for daily purposes.

This seems to be a good quality, high grade mineral oil you can use for cooking, on wood, as a facial cleanser and more! I will have it in difference containers labeled for different uses and definitely keeping some in my bathroom for cleansing my face.

It doesn’t have a taste or odor so you could use it as a carrier oil for essential oils quite easily if you are experienced in that. I was surprised at the many, many uses of it.

Good and safe food grade oil. I ordered it for the curing of my cast iron pans and now also use it to buff my wooden kitchen cupboards! Beautiful results. Not sticky. I recommend!

I’m a little confused why linseed oil would be included in a product like this. I bought it not realizing it was one of the ingredients and immediately smelled it. If you oil paint you know linseed is incredibly difficult to deal with.

you cannot wash cloths with them in the washing machine and it is difficult to store due to its flammable quality. also it is terrible for the environment because you cannot wash it down a sink as it can contaminate your local water supply.

all cloths should be brough to a proper waste disposal and i use cloths instead of paper towels. also there is no info on the website discussing this issue. waste of money.

Sometimes you don’t really realize how beat up your wooden utensils are until its too late. I recently had a wooden spoon splinter and decided that it was time to do some care on my other wooden utensils.

It gave new life to my cutting boards and has made them easier to clean. We have some decent wooden chopsticks too that had lost a bit of luster after constant usage and this helped them look good as new.

I am very impressed with this finishing oil. I have quite a few wood items in my home, many of them oak. I was so inspired by how well the oil made the first thing I treated look that I did all of the wood knickknacks in my house.

It’s been over a week and they continue to shine. It really brings out the grain in the wood and seems to seal and protect the wood. I’ve been using a lemon oil for many years but your oil is so much better.
