20 Best Oils For Body Butter (2022 Updated)

This body butter is to die for. Normally, I wouldn’t spend $36 on 8 oz of body butter, because there are so many great, more affordable options out there. But, after trying a bit out of a friend’s jar, I HAD to go out and buy a jar of my own.

The texture and scent of of this butter are a DREAM, with top quality ingredients, and extremely moisturizing properties. This Made in the USA body butter is now in my list of ALL-TIME FAVORITE scented body moisturizers, and it’s not going anywhere anytime soon! Quick Note about Fragrance (skip to next paragraph if you’d like): I am all about unscented skincare, mainly due to irritation/sensitivity concerns, but also because having too many scented products can just get overwhelming all to quickly.

My general rule is that the majority of my skincare is unscented but I do keep a number of products with fragrances I absolutely LOVE around, after patch-testing, of course. While my skin is moderately sensitive, scented products do not always cause skin irritation for me – So, as long they use high quality ingredients, and pass the patch test, they are fair game.

I do enjoy scented products, and find that the sensorial experience of certain much-loved fragrances in my skincare only makes the whole process that much more enjoyable! That sensorial experience truly doesnt get much better than this body butter.

The citrus scent is SO good you just have to smell it for yourself, because there is simply no doing it justice! Opening the jar is literally a joy, and I make sure to really take my time and enjoy the experience when I use this product (also because of the price), taking deep breaths and even doing a bit of massage and/or light meditation.

The scent is literally that good, and 100% natural (not synthetic ) fragrance derived from fruit and plant extracts. Fragrance: A+++ In terms of texture/formula this product is also a winner. The Ingredient superstars in this formula are the fatty acids in the argan oil, as well as the hydrating and conditioning benefits of shea butter and avocado oil.

It contains a total of 10 natural plant oils and extracts, and delivers on its promise to “revitalize skin, restore softness, and improve skin’s texture. ” This product is already top-shelf imo, but if I HAD to come up with a way to improve it, I would probably add some skincare actives to target certain common skin complaints, such as vitamin c, caffeine, niacinamide, and/or exfoliating acids, amongst many other options, to boost collagen/elasticity, treat hyperpigmentation and brighten, decrease puffiness and improve circulation, and even reduce cellulite (the bane of our existence!).

I feel that for the price of the product it would and should be possible to take the product to the next level by targeting specific skin concerns. In terms of texture/formula, for such a decadent, RICH body butter, it’s still unbelievably lightweight and silky soft, absorbing super quickly and fully into the skin, due to the perfectly whipped, signature argan oil.

It does not leave a greasy feeling to the skin, and adds a nice glowy sheen to the skin surface. Texture/formula: A++, Ingredients: A-, Moisturization: A++ Finally, the packaging isn’t anything totally spectacular, but I personally do like it.

It comes in a brown plastic jar (I assume to protect the ingredients from light) with a muted, dusty rose colored top. For me, it’s about what’s on the inside that counts most, but I understand that a well thought out and designed package or pump can add something extra to a product.

This is minimal and effective. I would recommend using a spatula or scoop of some kind to remove the product to keep debris/bacteria out of the product itself. Packaging: B+ This body butter is just SO SO GOOD.

It makes me feel extra fancy, and it makes my after-shower pamper session feel super luxe. I truly cannot do it justice, you simply have to try it for yourself. As long as you like/don’t mind fragrance, you cannot go wrong with this amazing and decadent body butter.

My diabetes makes my skin pretty dry, so I’m constantly moisturizing. I was previously using Gold Bond lotion for diabetics, which works pretty well! However, I dislike pump bottles because of how hard it is to get the lotion out when I’m nearing the end and I end up having to cut the bottle in half to use it all.

I received the unscented version of this body butter for Christmas and oh my goodness! My skin has never felt so soft for so long between applications. Since it is an oil-based butter, it’s a little greasy, but I got used to it pretty quickly and learned that a little goes a long way.

I also LOVE that it comes in a wide-mouthed jar like this so that none of it goes to waste (and while this is worth every penny, you better believe I’m using every last molecule). Right before I ran out, I immediately went to the website and ordered the same but in Vanilla Bean and literally said “Oh my god” out loud when I opened it up and took a whiff.

It is the *perfect* combo of sweet and subtle — almost good enough to eat! Plus, it shipped quickly, so I think I maybe only went one day between running out of the first jar and receiving the second.

I’m so happy to have found a moisturizer that is both pleasant to apply and really, truly works. I hope they’ll offer the scented versions in the larger option soon!.

Living in Florida, we are either in air conditioning or out in the hot sun; therefore, our skin does take quite a beating in keeping in the moisture. I have very dry hands and have a difficult time keeping them moisturized due to constant hand washing and as a teacher, constantly touching the paper.

I have tried many products to keep my skin hydrated, and remember seeing Josie Maran on a segment of QVC talking up the benefits of Argan Oil. As someone who is also very health-conscious, I know the benefits of Argan oil on the skin, so I was excited to try this product for myself.

I started with the Vanilla Apricot and now use the Peppermint Bark. The scents are amazing, yet not overpowering. I cannot even describe how wonderful my skin feels and looks. It is smooth, hydrated and even my heels are smooth looking.

This is a great product. Is it slightly slippery, yes; however, not overly so. My skin drinks the product in like a tall glass of water. Thank you for bringing the wonders of Argan Oil into my life. As for the expense, for me a little goes a long way, so my jar lasts for over a month.

I love these products. I gave five stars however, I would give 4. 9 stars. The reason is the mimosa cucumber splash, I like the vegetable but not to smell like a cucumber, I was hoping for more mimosa and less cucumber.

The cucumber does fade quickly and leaves a light mellow scent, the lotion is fantastic. Love the the healing balm and it is a staple in my household, it is fantastic for the hands with all the hand washing and Increased use of alcohol based hand sanitizer.

I use and night to rehydrate my hand and prevention of chapped hands. Tiare body butter is a very light scent and love the thickness of the cream but rubs and soaks in well. I always use a small amount, it spreads well and is very smooth.

What a great value this box is! Healing balm soothes my rashes. Tiare flower smells good and makes my skin smooth. Cucumber is just refreshing and skin feels rejuvenated. Loving all three products!

I really enjoyed purchasing these butters as a set. I was able to break them up to give as little gifts to my three girls so we could all enjoy “the wealth” together. We love the smooth creaminess and richness and moisturizing properties.

We especially enjoy there is an unscented option for those that have that sensitivity to fragrance.

I use this when I go workout and it makes me sweater so much. I use this in my tummy then I add plastic wrap. It’s cold to the touch but as soon as you start working out it’s super warm. The only down side is that when you are taking a shower it’s kind of hard to take off.

I scrub a lot and you can feel the cold. Other than that I do recommend if you want to loose extra sweat 😓 I got this on Amazon!.

LOVE THE PRODUCT!!First use the smell was loud, but got use to. I sweat tremendously when working out. Only use it for maybe a week or more. I see great results. I just order 3 more bottles from amazon.

I got to have it. The best effective cream zi have ever use. Of course with the waist trainer I sweat even more.

I do not work out without my honey dew hot cream! The smell and tingle alone makes me feel like the fat is melting away! I massage the cream into my problem areas and put a waist trainer over. The hot cream makes me sweat more.

With consistently using the cream I have noticed dark spots and stretch marks fade. I definitely recommend using! I brought my hot cream on Amazon.

I’ve been using Josie Marian body butter all over my body, after I shower, every single day. I’ve been a customer now for at least 5 years. I started using Josie’s body butter because my skin was “shedding”-I’d take off my socks and I would see flaking all over.

Now my skin is extremely soft and supple-my 28 year old daughter constantly tells me how soft my skin is and I’m 70 years old!!! I love the scents (my favorites are the vanilla scents, especially vanilla bean) and how creamy they are.

The texture is really like butter! I guess the only negative thing I could say is that sometimes the jars don’t seem to be full to the top and once in awhile there’s a large hole somewhere in the butter but this to me is a minor problem compared to the beautiful results I have encountered with this product.

This oil makes your skin super soft! When you first put it on, your skin appears very oily, but the oil soaks into your skin, creating the softest skin ever! You smell super clean too! I get many compliments about my soft skin.

YES, YES AND YES! I decided to try this cocoa butter body oil instead of the Palmer’s cocoa butter body oil which I have used before. I like both of them. I bought this at Walmart a couple of months ago.

When I first opened it it, I could not smell anything, literally nothing. Man. I was disappointed! That night I after my shower I put this oil on while my skin was damp. All of a sudden, I could smell a light fragrant pleasant sweet cocoa butter scent.

I wanted to jump in joy but was worried I may slip and fall since my feet were wet. Anyways, whatever product I had left on my hands, I wiped over my face. I massaged my face pretty well and went to bed.

I am not the type to use oil on my face as I don’t like the feel of it on my skin. That night while I was tossing and turning as usual because I have sleeping issues, all I could smell was this oil. I was kept smiling in the middle of the night because I felt happy I smelt good.

In the morning, my face looked so moisturized and plump. Ever since then, I use this oil on my face as a moisturizer, creams be gone! By using this oil I figured out how much I am supposed to use on my face and what to do with it.

The reason I say that is because sometimes, we can use oil on our skin and it feels greasy. The reason for that is because we have not massaged it into our skin properly. That is the key to it and also a little goes a long way.

I also use a small amount on my hair every so often, i mean why not? It gives my hair shine and moisture and smells good too. Overall I am happy with this product, it is lightweight and has a light fragrant scent to it.

I have used this body oil for years right after a shower or in a bath. I have sensitive skin and it keeps me feeling wonderful. The scent is nice and fresh, unlike some others I have tried. I used to be able to pick it up just about anywhere, but have had to order it online for a few years now.

My super sensitive skin LOVES this body butter and has been so soft and calm since using it after my showers. The scent is VERY true to the description – it’s super gingery and super clovey, so if you don’t like that definitely a good idea to try another scent.

I got this as a hand butter– but the other week I used it on my hair as the “C” in my LOC routine and *jaw drops*. INSTANT STAPLE! This leaves my high porosity 4a hair SUPERRRRR soft. Like no other butter/ oil I’ve ever used (in my now 15+ year natural hair journey).

This hand cream is perfect for anyone with dry skin. A small amount goes a long way. It is a thick intensive cream that needs to be rubbed in & leaves skin hydrated & supple, without a greasy film (& has a lovely fragrance too).

My favourite ever all over moisturiser. I always stock up when I go to Turkey and bring loads of bottles of this back. It smells amazing. It sinks in to the skin really quickly and is non sticky. And it leaves the skin feeling soft and smooth and moisturised until your next shower.

A friend brought me a small tube back from her holiday in Turkey, she had bought for herself and thought I would like it too. It was fantastic!! It really helped my skin and it has a lovely aroma and rubs in well and is not greasy!! I was so pleased that I bought another small tube from ebay and again once that had finished bought this bigger tube.

I would highly recommend it!!.

This bath and body oil smells divine and the price is very reasonable. As soon as my Walmart Order arrived, I slathered some on my dry and flaky hands and arms. I was very surprised and pleased that it smelled so yummy, absorbed so quickly, and nourised my poor skin so well.

I have never used a bath oil this way, except when I was in Marine Boot Camp at Parris Island, SC during the summer of 1980. We used Avon Skin So Soft Bath Oil as INSECT AND BUG REPELLENT!! It STANK when used this way, but it worked!! I don’t think it was supposed to be used as a body oil, but we did it anyway because it was the only thing that worked so well.

It was a Godsend! 🙂 I haven’t used this product as a bath oil yet, but I am sure it will be great. I will add it to my bath with regular epsom salt to help with relaxation and chronic pain at night before I go to bed.

This is priced so much better than similar stuff at Bath and Body Works, and so far it works just as well as the aromatherapy bath and body products they sell there. I am so glad I was able to try this product.

I have very, very dry skin. To the point there is a humdifier on in every room of my house and I still get very itchy after showers. I`ve tried different lotions, creams, oils to no avail. UNTIL Dr. Teal made this fabulous, amazing, moisterizing oil.

You can take a bath and pour the oil directly in. I have only a shwer. I bath with the different soaps and rinse. afer trning the water off, I do a little dance like a dog, shaking excessive water off.

then I immediatelly pour the oil on my skin while still in the shower. After a few seconds, I use my towel and dab dry. and absilutely no itching!!! I currently use it about 2x’s a week. and I was able to get rid of the pesky humidifiers!!! I have used this on myself, twin tddlers, m adult sons, my geriatric father, and even a lttle on my cat for the smell.

after the initial dabbing of the towel, there is a very fine amount of residual oil. But it soaks into my skin shockingly fast and does NOT get on clothing. At least the way I use it. One bottle lasts about 12 showers.

I almost don’t want to leave this rave review because I’m scared people will know it’s worth and buy up the stock and I won’t be able to find any. so leave a bottle for me. I can live without toliet paper, but can’t live without this miraculous oil blend.

And the smell, smells like real freshly picked lavender,not the synthetic sweet smell other lotions/oils have.

I just stept out of the shower still wet, and I rubbed Dr. Teal’s *Bath oil & Moisture. I was impressed & amazed how well my skin obsorbes and soothes my very dry winter skin !! So my entire order came damaged. As in, OIL EVERYWHERE inside the box. My kid had to help me because there was so much oil. I didn’t want to get my iPhone oily and ruined and we weren’t even thinking because we never have this sort of issue.

This was the first and it will be the very last time i order from this horrible company. They don’t care they’re perfectly happy taking my money knowing j have nothing to show for it. This is the kind of company you want to avoid at all costs! Buy from somewhere else! Anywhere! The only thing worse than their bag of oil which ruined my clothing was their inadequate, uncaring and selfish customer service.

Good for hair. nails. I dont use it in my hair but my daughter does. I use it for my nails and it helps my nails grow and makes my cuticles stay moisturized. This product is fabulous and can be found at the dollar store!! Careful.

a lil bit goes a long way.

I really like this oil. I would classify it as medium weight. My favorite thing about this oil is that it absorbs quickly and completely–as long as you don’t use too much; a little truly goes a LONG way.

I’m sensitive to scents and this oil has an extremely mild natural fragrance, so that is a big plus for me. My only real complaint is that I would prefer a glass bottle instead of a plastic bottle.

Love, love, love this oil! Vanilla is my favorite scent, so this is a perfect combination for me. I purchased the this oil through Costco years ago and loved it. Now I’ve purchased it twice directly.

I bought this Alaffia whipped shea butter coconut oil at Target a couple days ago, and I am really digging it so far. It is whipped to light and fluffy perfection, which helps prevent you from overdoing it.

The oil is thick, so a little dab will do you. Running your finger across the top will give you enough to melt in your hands and apply to your driest regions. It is labeled as unscented, but I would say it has a light nutty or coconut scent due to the oil types.

Ingredients are just shea butter and coconut oil, so it is very basic, no petroleums!.

I love it as a hand cream. It softens my hand that have become rough from so much washing and disinfecting. I wanted to also use it as a body cream, but it was too stiff and paste-like, not what I expected from whipped Shea butter.

So I stirred in some olive oil and it glides on nicely and makes my skin soft. But the olive oil leaves my hands oily so I’ll stir in coconut oil next time to give it a smother consistency. The lavender sent is a little medicinal to me but it subsides.

I love all of Alaffia’s products and like to support socially conscious businesses. I will buy this product again and do my thing to my liking. I’m thinking one for the bathroom, one for the kitchen, and one for the bedroom.

This body butter is fantastic, I had just returned from a holiday to find this had been delivered. My body was sun kissed and I knew that I would need to keep it soft to retain my tan. This product did this from day one.

The smell on opening was delightful. At first I wasn’t sure about the small pearls that run throughout the body butter but I soon realised that they broke up quite quickly and made sure that you really apply the body butter thoroughly.

The cream rubs in really well into the skin and is absorbed quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy surface. The smell is wonderful however it doesn’t last all day, a top up scent for refresh would be good.

The pot is large so not handbag size to top up the skin during the day if required. Having said that the pot is a good size to get your hand in to apply the product first thing in the morning or a night.

I have tried Sanctuary Spa product before and love the luxury feel that they give. I would recommend Sanctuary Spa Ruby Oud Natural Oils Melting Pearl Body Butter, it leaves your skin soft and grease free, fragrant and a sheen that is lovely on a softly tanned skin.

It has kept my skin hydrated and I have had no peeling of my skin on return from holiday.

I’ve been using Sanctuary Spa products for over a decade and loved all the products I’ve tried and still use. I adore the smell and the luxurious feel of them for the price point. Sadly I didn’t get on with this body butter.

The 7 day moisture claim feels bogus given how my skin still felt dry after using it. I have very dry skin that feels tight and itchy after a shower. I hate the melting pearls which don’t melt without considerable effort and felt pretty useless, they don’t add extra moisture just an orange glittery mess that is hard to get off my skin.

I ended up picking them out before rubbing the body butter on my skin the last time I used this. After breaking open the pearls I didn’t find anything that seemed at all extra nourishing, just shimmer with a silicone feel? Instead of the pearls it would’ve been better to add a nourishing ingredient straight into the body butter instead.

It’s such a shame because I was so excited to try this since I love the brand.

I have been using Sanctuary Spa Signature Natural Oils Shea Butter and I am loving the results. It is a lovely rich texture cream that is really easy to apply and it comes in a good sized 300 ml tub.

It absorbs quickly and leaves no greasy feeling on the skin. As well as Shea Butter it contains Cocoa Butter and Sesame Seed Oil. It smells absolutely gorgeous with Sanctuary Spa’s signature scent Jasmine, Grapefruit and Vanilla the scent stays for a long time so fresh and noticeable.

I have been using the body butter after each bath time and my skin is feeling super soft and nourished with effects that stay on the skin. My skin is so supple and silky smooth and looks glowing. It is amazing for nourishing your skin as it is super soothing and hydrating.

For dry areas such as elbows and knees the body butter absorbs so well and breathes life leaving the body glowing and soft. An added bonus which is very important to me is that the body butter is cruelty free and vegan friendly.
