20 Best Oils For Dry Skin (2022 Updated)

This is a strong product and I’m on my second bottle of it. It lives in my shower and I have two main uses for it. Almost every day, I use it in the shower to do my oil cleanse for anywhere I have makeup or sunscreen.

I usually wear water resistant sunscreen and this does a great job of dissolving it prior to using a soap. It also does a great job with makeup. I wouldn’t recommend using this as an oil cleanser/makeup remover for outside the shower, it can be a bit messy and runy.

Instead, I use a cleansing balm by my sink. My second use for this product is for skin softening after I shave. Once I’m done shaving, I put this oil on followed by a moisturizer. That combo keeps my legs super smooth, although it does take some time for all that product to set in.

I’m sure there’s a million other ways this could be used. It’s a great all-purpose, gentle skin oil.

I’ve been using this oil for years and I always bought it at Walmart. Then I realized that I could get the 32oz for $24 and that I would be so much better off. But not even two months later Neutrogena changed the price to $48, which doesn’t even make sense.

You could literally buy two 16oz for less. I’ve contacted customer service to find out why but they didn’t know. This was over a year ago and the price hasn’t changed. I’m only writing the review now because they’ve discontinued the sheer lotion which has the same price of $24 for 32oz.

It’s truly disheartening to know that I can no longer buy brand direct.

I love this oil even more than the Blue Orchid oil which i had before. The wonderful cardamon fragrance is amazing especially for the winter months. I take this when I travel so after I get to the hotel, I wash my face and put this on to relax.

It’s soothing and hydrating, I’ve never found it irritating close to the eye area. This is also really great if you have a bit of wind chapped skin. This is my favouriate Clarins Facial Oil. Enjoy!.

I really love how this oil calms my skin, and my favorite way to use it is after doing a chemical peel because using it after deep exfoliation really lets the ingredients sink in and work their magic! I have dry skin with a little acne from time to time and this really helps keep my skin hydrated.

I use it at night, once or twice a week after exfoliation and my 47 year old skin is glowing and young looking. The only thing I don’t love is that it takes a long time to sink in. I’ve read so many reviews where people use it before makeup and I can’t imagine doing that! For me, it gradually sinks in overnight for beautiful results in the morning.

I would also add that I only use it when I’m going to wash my hair in the morning as it makes my hair greasy if it touches my face. I wouldn’t balk at the price as it literally takes 2 drops to fully cover my face and neck, and I almost worry about it turning rancid before I can use it up, although I don’t know if that’s a thing with this oil.

I had the ugliest nastiest most ugly rash on my arm for MONTHS. M O N T H S. My skin never breaks out ESPECIALLY on my body! Nothing was making it go away, not even this cream I got from a dermatologist.

I bought this THREE days ago, THREE!!!! And the rash? G O N E. I applied this in a thick layer multiple times a day and that rash went absolutely good bye. I was embarrassed because a friend of mine had remarked about the rash so I bought this since I saw an ad for it and one of my other friends told me awhile ago that bio oil was her holy grail, and wow this new dry skin gel? DIVINE.

I’m so ecstatic, I can’t believe this is under $15. Most of my creams run around the $100-$400 range and this is just ridiculous, so thankful for bio oil and so thankful that this is affordable. I could buy ten jars of this for the price of one of my 1.

5oz face creams, in fact I will and use this all over my body because this stuff is amazing. I’m just so happy that ugly rash is gone from my arm so I can wear short sleeves again. 100% Worth it.

I am like some others I’ve read on here where I have probably every single, high-end or not, product made for dry skin (on my face). Lately, my skin has been extra red and sensitive and I’ve been on the hunt for a new skincare routine.

This just firmly planted itself there! I’ve had to change my face wash, moisturizers, serums, toners- you name it! I got this and I put it on at night since I wasn’t sure at first how oily it might make my skin look (by the way, it really doesn’t leave a greasy, oily look, just nicely hydrated).

This in combination with the new face wash and couple of other products I’ve come across have been the rescue I needed. I’m no longer using anything I used to but my skin is going back to being like new again.

I don’t know if I’ll ever not have skin like the Sahara if I ignore it for a day, but this routine of mine is promising and this gel feels SO good on my sensitive skin! This will never not be in my kit ever again.

Why is no one talking about how this orange oil transfers EVERYWHERE? White sheets, pillow cases, towels, t shirts… you name it, it will get an unsightly orange mark on it using this oil. It comes off in the wash but still annoying for such an expensive oil.

I only use this at night because, as others have said, it makes your face tinted if you’re fair. Due to the cost I’m using this up but will not purchase again because of the color transfer. If you remove the color transfer issues, this product is a decent oil.

It definitely helps to lock in the moisturizer I apply in the prior step of my skin care routine. It has not personally broken me out either. It does have a funky smell though, like leftover take out.

If you’re cool with that and don’t mind orange color getting on everything, this would be a good oil for you.

I don’t usually write reviews, especially negative ones. But I feel so duped by this brand and product I just had to throw in my opinion. I bought this as a replacement for the Korres rose + vitamin c serum, as I heard the formula changed and not for the better, so I was recommende this as a replacement.

The reviews were great so despite the price tag I went for it. Ugh. Listen, y’all this is not worth the better part of a hundred dollars. I’ve been using it daily since July and have seen zero difference in my skin.

Putting it on, it leaves a weird coloring to my skin, making me feel like it doesn’t actually soak in at all. I have an olive tone and it makes me look weirdly sallow and jaundiced, so I only use it at night.

It also pills HORRIBLY. Maybe the worst of any skincare product I’ve tried. Don’t even think of putting anything on over this because it makes a gross mess of my hands and face. I literally had to wipe my face with a towel after using this under another product because it pilled so badly.

Unfortunately I’m stubborn and want my money’s worth so despite hating this useless serum I keep using it. No change in brightness, tone, nothing. The only plus side to this is if you actually like it, the bottle will last forever, because even after months of daily use I haven’t even reached the tip of the diamond label.

You only need two little drips to cover your whole face, I don’t even have to squeeze the dropper, enough drips out to cover my whole face so it’s going to last a long time. So it looks like I’ll be stuck with this thing forever.

I hate it. Every time I look at it I’m furious that I spent money on it. The branding and packaging are exquisite, but the product is absolutely useless. I can’t wait to be rid of it and I’ll never try something from this brand again honestly.

I have combo/sensitive skin and I’m constantly on the lookout for products that lock in moisture but don’t contain silicones. For me, products that contain silicone usually clog my pores and it’s realllly hard for me to find products without that delivers.

I used to just use argan oil but after awhile it just seemed like it’s less effective. Enter this oil… It just feels like it goes deeper than other oils to moisturize without feeling heavy. Just give it a couple minutes to sink in.

Before buying this, if I hadn’t received a sample I would have probably written it off as not worth the price. It is worth the price and thankfully they have a more affordable mini.

Amazing facial oil. It actually suits my skin better than The Ordinary Rosehip oil. This oil has jojoba which mimics the skin’s natural oils lipids apparently which why it absorbs so well and softens it.

It also has a teeny amount of retinyl palmitate that helps even skin tone and decrease the look of fine lines. And guess what!?!? It works. I use it day and night. And you can use it at any step in your skincare regime according to the brand.

And it’s true. It works well under makeup, on its own, mixed into foundation or even with other face creams. Lightly scented.

I absolutely love this product! I have older dry skin. This oil has changed my skin from dry to beautifully hydrated and glowing!! I get many compliments asking why I do not have wrinkles!! They also compliment the beautiful glow my skin has! This oil has natural ingredients.

Who cares about the scent! It goes away. the benefits are so worth you not liking the scent. which, by the way, doesn’t bother me! Try this product for a week! You will love it! I put it on at night and before my make-up in the morning.

This stuff is amazing! After years of spending $$$ w EL, i am elated to find this product line! I started with facial wipes to clean face on the go…then this $20 oil to replace $110 serum. What was great is i stopped having issues w clogged pores.

After this great experiences, i have been switching over to Burt Bees for everything—even makeup—slowly and each additional product has further enhanced my skin quality. Being 56, my skin is in great shape.

I am enamored with the illuminating foundation (?) the eye shadow! The stuff for mature skin is the best stuff out there!!!.

I have used this oil consistently for about 4 years. I apply it morning and night. I have combination skin. This oil makes my skin look glowy, healthy and keeps it well hydrated all day. I am 40 years old and I have absolutely no wrinkles or crows feet on my face and this is the only product I use on my skin other than sunscreen.

It has a woody and sweet scent (probably from the RoseHip oil) but I find it pleasant. If feels heavy initially but it is quickly absorbed. Highly recommend.

She wondered if I would want to try the foot cream or bug repellent, since she was placing an order. I did, but I began reading Nicole’s details explaining many of the products. Ultimately, I also decided to try the Argan Face Oil, pretty much based on what Nicole had written about the ingredients.

I’m an old guy who grew up near Southern California beaches, lived in multiple other states loving the outdoors, and have spent the past 21 years in the Arizona desert. I have always loved fresh air, sun and heat.

Over 7 decades I have used numerous face and body creams, mainly preferring pure aloe vera jell. The Yellow Bird Argan Face Oil impressed me after about two days. The oil shine was handy when I applied it, because it helped me see places I was missing when I applied it around the curves of my nose, mouth and ears spots.

The shine mutted to a very healthy look within a couple of minutes. So, right off, I was pleased. But, the “BIG WOW,” that leads me to share my experience is this: More impressive than the general softening and improvement in my skin’s texture over a few days’ time has been something that I still consider my own pesonal miracle.

Maybe the oil only did this for me, but I had three places on my face that had difficulty healing for nearly five years after skin cancer removal surgery, and one sun-damaged flaky spot on my ear. I have struggled with extremely sensitive skin my entire life. The transition from fall to winter always ends up in my face getting windburned and so very dry. I had a couple of soaps that I love from the Yellow Bird so I decided to give this a try.

In the past I’ve used Cetaphil, Cerve, Eminence Organics, Etc. Nothing compares to this oil, and I LOVE the scent! (Still in disbelief I’m not allergic to it whatsoever) I’ve also used Arbonne’s “Calm” Line and was sensitive to the face wash — I just love the charcoal soap that complements the oil.

The first few day after applying at bedtime two of my friends complemented me on my skin’s radiance! I will definitely be incorporating the oil into my daily routine. It absorbs super quickly and doesn’t leave your skin overly oily.

Seems to have helped my acne (doesn’t clog pores) and feels light going on. Only a few things to note- the oil squirts out so I found it is best to squirt directly into palm and then apply to face (and avoid getting it onto clothing).

Also if you apply to your forehead right before bed you might find your hairline appearing a bit greasy in the morning but no big deal if you’re a morning shower-er or headband wearer. I’ve been using their Hemp washcloths too — also highly recommend them!.

I bought this oil because I was curious, but I felt certain it would leave a shiny, goopy finish on my normal/combo skin. Fearful of goop, I first tested it on my hair. I dispensed about a half pump into my palm and applied to my very dry ends, and then I “cleaned” my palms on the backs of my hands.

The oil disappeared immediately, leaving my translucent, crumpled-tissue-paper skin plumped and smooth. I immediately washed and dried my face and then applied another half pump to my face with the same happy result.

The oil went where it was needed without leaving a trace. My skin looked nourished and radiant, not at all oily. I’ve been using every day for 2 weeks, and my facial looks better than it has in years.

I had no idea my oily(ish) skin was so parched until I fed it properly. Thank you, Badger, for continuing to offer unscented skincare! I was gutted when you discontinued the Unscented Beauty Balm (which *was* rather goopy on me), but now I have found a cosmetically elegant replacement.

Excellent face oil. I love the smell which is very mild,thankfully !! I gently rub on my face after I use the Badger face oil wash. They work well together. My face is so smooth and dry flakes (gross) are gone.

I will always purchase this face oil from Badger. natural 🙂 all their products are made thoughtfully for the planet,too bad every company doesn’t maintain the same standards. Wonderful product (s).

Good for dry skin, suitable for normal skin in winter. With very interesting vegetable oils, as pomegranate and seabuckthorn oils, nourish skin. Lavender and geramium essential oils calms, and the citric one helps to fight against opaque face.

If you wish moisture, spray some rose water for example just before apply the oil and massage for 1 minute. It’s not very heavy, so many of us can use this face oil in the morning too, but remember, you need to use sunscreen if you apply it in the morning, always.

If your skin is really sensitive, Damascus rose face oil is a better option, but that one doesn’t get a luminous skin. I prefer rose oil but I also enjoy this one very much, and ingredients are great too.

And this one is a bit cheaper.

I’d been using the original Aveeno Creamy Moisturizing Oil since about 2004 after it first came out, and was featured as one of “Oprah’s Favorite Things” in her magazine. I’d used it every day since then, and had purchased 100s of bottles of it.

I liked that it wasn’t terribly pricey in comparison with dept store or salon body products, it had a light and inoffensive scent (the product wasn’t all about the scent), and it slipped and glided over the skin leaving it smooth, but never tacky.

I was relieved to find it wasn’t discontinued forever, but that the packaging only appeared to have been tweaked. The new stuff is awful. It’s cheap. It’s different. The first ingredient in the original product was sesame seed oil.

That has been omitted from the “new” product altogether. It doesn’t have any slip to it anymore. It has a synthetic and stinky coconut smell now, and has all of a sudden become very fragrance forward.

Goodbye, old friend – time to find a new daily standard.

Over the pandemic the supply chain was disrupted in multiple ways and I know J&J faced a lawsuit forcing them to change their supply chain as well. As a result this lotion currently no longer exists and re-directs to a new product, “Creamy Oil moisturizer” which has a significantly shorter ingredient list and felt noticeably different on my skin.

I find it insulting Aveeno would pretend the same product is back and stock something new thinking we wouldn’t notice. I hope they will eventually bring this product back for real, it was the only thing that worked for my skin and the new product is a let down that smells heavily of perfume, doesn’t go on as smooth, has so little almond oil it’s last on the list, and it’s selling point: doesn’t feel greasy, is no longer true.

I loved this lotion because it never felt like it left a residue on my skin and now it does. Again, I hope they will bring the real product back soon and that this change is temporary due to supply chain issues, but it feels like lying to consumers to redirect to a new product with no announcement.

I love Aveeno Creamy Moisturizing Oil with the pink cap, but can no longer find it. A recent trip to Walmart confirmed my fears – it has been discontinued and reformulated. It is now branded as Creamy Oil Moisturizer with a brown cap.

A call to Aveeno confirmed it. This new formula has a strong unpleasant coconut scent and nothing like the lovely almond scented original that so many of us loved. I won’t be purchasing Aveeno’s new version.

Instead, I’ll be using Nivea Creme (the original from Germany) on a year round basis now instead of just in the colder months. Aveeno/Johnson & Johnson, please bring back the original with the pink cap.

There is nothing that compares!!.
