20 Best Oils For Frizzy Hair (2022 Updated)

This product was recommended by an Ulta consultant. I like to have my long hair (about eight inches past my shoulders) smooth and straight. It is like hay and very frizzy even when it’s not humid. When I worked in Florida and other parts of the south and lived on the coast in California I never found a product that would tame my hair.

This product works for me. I have used it during the Arizona monsoons, on a boat excursion in San Francisco and in Ft. Bragg where it is very humid and damp. I don’t use it per the instructions on the container.

I wash my hair, blow it out with a brush (at this point it is still very frizzy), then use a flat iron (before the humidity gets to it, this is what it should look like), then I immediately spray some in my hands and run them through my hair (don’t use so much that it dampens the hair).

Optionally I use a curling iron on the top most layers to give it a dressier look. I sometimes use hairspray to hold the curls in place. When I comb out the hairspray it stays smooth. Then my hair is never frizzy until I wash it two or three days later.

Ive been coloring my natural blond hair every color of the rainbow for the past 20years. I also use a nice $200+flat iron to straighten the waves. So my hair is already prone to frizz, and the damage from the dye & heat doesn’t help.

After I get my hair straight, it’s still puffy and doesn’t look good. I put a pump of this on my hands and fingercomb it thru the bottom half of my hair haphazardly and VOILA! I instantly have sleek piecey styled hair.

I went in looking for something to tame the static in my hair now that we are in the midst of the cold/dry winter. The associate recommended using this lightly. Since I find sprays usually apply too much, I sprayed it in the palm of my hand and worked it from the middle of my hair to the ends.

It temporarily gets rid of the static. I need to apply it multiple times throughout the day. It appears to be water based, didn’t leave my hair feeling oily or sticky stiff. I’ve only used it on dry hair, not sure what effect it would have on wet hair.

Because my hair is dry, I wash it every third or fourth day – I didn’t feel any build-up. Yes, it is pricey but will probably last a long time even on my hair that is below the middle of my back. The sales associate seemed very knowledgeable about hair and makeup products.

It’s odd that I love this and am peeved by this at the same time. It has alcohol in it which you smell right away after spraying it on… almost smells like Aquanet. You think it would strip your hair but it doesn’t.

It does smooth your hair down quite well. I spray it on right before I apply Biolage’s leave in treatment and wrap my hair up for bed. In the morning, my long hair is hydrated and completely smooth all the way down to the ends.

And it smells like a tropical beach… who doesn’t love that?.

I have fine hair and live in a subtopical climate where humidity is high and the sun is almost always out. This provides UV protection and controls the majority of my frizz!! It’s light and doesn’t make my hair greasy and works instantly.

I also love that all Sun Bum products are high quality, clean and cruelty free. It also smells like I’m at the beach so win, win, win.

After seeing the Sun Bum hair products in my local health food store and also seeing the rave reviews I decided to try them. I actually love the products and my hair feels very soft and less tangled.

I’ll admit I should have read the ingredients more carefully before purchasing as it’s very disappointing to see that the top 2 ingredients in the anti frizz oil are a drying alcohol and a silicone that does not wash out with water.

It makes the hair look beautiful on application, just wondering what the long term damage to the hair will be. I really wanted to love these products as they are paraben free and also contain some really lovely plant ingredients.

Listen up if you have DULL or THIN hair this could be the hydrating oil for you! @tokyolab shine oil mist adds a shiny finish to you hair, tames flyaways and all while being lightweight. I have no reason to BS you, I bought this myself.

I threw this product into the lineup simply because it intrigued me. Look at this ingredient list below, it is INSANE! 😱 To point out a few: Hyaluronic acid in a hair oil. Also, platinum fibers, pearl extract and grape stem cells.

Sounds really cool eh?! The scent is hard to place, it smells sweet, but very light. $16 for 4 oz $6 for the 1 oz size.

This was the first product I ever purchased from Playa, which was really unfortunate because it kept me from trying others from them for over a year. I have BABY FINE, type 2C/3A hair and this product, like most I try, just weighs it down and makes my locks look greasy.

I also found it awkward to apply and have lost half the product just from knocking the bottle over (the oil leaks out even with the cap on). Now the salt spray on the other hand works much much better for me for sure.

I noticed Playa recommends using the two products together on wavy hair though so I wanted to write a review to let anyone with baby fine, volume-less hair like mine know that this is not the case for us.

This oil is terrific! I have long thick hair that is prone to dryness and tangling. I must use detangling sprays, leave in conditioners as well as oils and serums just to get the brush through it daily (even then it’s an all-day battle).

Of course, some oils on the market are thick or even tacky and leave behind too much build up which actually ends up contributing to the tangling problems. Not the case with this oil at all! As the name suggests, it really vanishes! The consistency is super thin and absorbs quickly.

I don’t have to worry about using too much either because it doesn’t leave my hair greasy at all. It leave my hair and skin feeling like silk and I couldn’t be more satisfied. I’m happy with the product size as well – it’s really a good value! since a single application is just a few drops, a bottle will last a really long time.

I love this oil so much. Works very well for my very long hair, hair feels soft and airy after blow drying unlike the Moroccan silicon based hair oil which I’ve been using for months. The silicon based one weighs down the hair and caused a lot of build up.

This is so different, this does not contain silicon and it does not weigh down my hair, truly anti frizz and hair stays soft until the next wash. I wash my hair daily and I’m not sure what’s in the formula, noticed that this oil also reduces blow drying time too, how great! Really love it and just purchased another bottle today.

The only cons about this is the scent, the scent smells cheap and I don’t like it, thank god the scent does not linger after application. Highly recommend this product!.

This vanishing oil by Living proof was sent to me complimentary in exchange for my honest review. It is a weightless and hydrating finishing oil. I like the dropper because it allows me to just use a little bit at a time in each hair section or a whole lot if I want.

It absorbs fast and is easy to apply. Doesn’t feel sticky or create a lot of build-up. I like that it can be used on dry or wet hair. I do wish it was also heat protectant but it does work well post heat styling to smooth what needs to be smoothed.

Like most Living Proof products, it is heavily scented and the smell lingers a long time, which is good or bad depending on scent preferences. It does smell nice though but a little too scented for my sensitive nose.

I received this complimentary from Living Proof for my honest feedback. This vanishing oil is a silicone free oil treatment that stops frizz and adds shine. It can be applied on damp or dry hair. I apply about 2-3 drops and work it through my hair.

I first tried it with dry hair and it works great! I also tried it with damp hair and it worked great that way as well. This doesn’t weigh my hair down at all and leaves it silky, smooth, and shiny! I have such a hard time finding products that will help with frizz, most won’t work on my hair.

But, this one is absolutely incredible!! It completely took the frizz away and made my hair look and feel so good!! If you’re hair is very stubborn like mine, I highly recommend giving this a try! I’m so glad that I finally found a hair oil that my hair loves!.

I was impressed by the size of this oil bottle. Normally you get just half for this price. For oil texture normally I would prefer this to be a bit more sticky, but it spreads on my hair evenly. It doesn’t leave any oily residue.

The smell stays on the hair for couple of days, even if I’m running or hiking. Overall, it’s a good product to tame unruled and bleached hair. Perfect for spring and summer.

I have tried so many oils and creams over the years to liven up and nourish my curly hair, and this is the one! For starters I can’t believe how much product you get for the price, a little goes a long way so I’d recommend starting for a few drops on mid lengths and ends and go from there.

Oddly I think it smells like vanilla yoghurt, and I like it! This oil leaves my hair bouncy, shiny, soooo soft and polished, even when I leave it to air dry. I also put a few drops of this oil in my palm and lightly smooth down straightened hair to tame any flyaways, it leaves straight hair even shinier and striking.

Oh my goodness. My frizz is gone (first time ever)!! My hair is SHINY (first time ever)!! This will change your life. I mix a 20c coin sized amount with 2 pumps of O&M Style Guru and put it through mid lengths and ends.

My hair dries so nicely it’s crazy. It’s not an oily product AT ALL, but rather it seems to evaporate leaving incredible shine and smoothness behind. This is my second bottle and I plan to have a constant supply in my cabinet from now on! SIX STARS! PS I have fine, damaged, wavy, frizz-prone hair.

To my surprise, it works even better than the original formula! Having used the older formula, Nutritive Oleo Relax product, for over a decade, I was very skeptical to try this product. The scent is the same, which I love, as its a light rose water like scent.

I have naturally curly hair, more frizzy than curly, and like to wear my hair straight. Here’s my routine: I use a nickel size of the Keratine Thermique smoothing taming milk, in my towel dryed hair, blow it out straight and use the Oleo Relax Oil in my hair right before I run a flat iron through it.

I’ve found that with the new formula, I only have to use a small amount and it leaves my hair much more tamed and moisturized. I have less fly aways and my hair looks shinier than it did with the older formula.

I’ve also found that I don’t need to constantly reapply the oil, as the first time around does the trick. Another bonus is the newer formula is heat-protectant, which makes it perfect for my routine or anyone that uses flat irons on a regular basis.

Not only has Keratase updated the product, they have also updated the older plastic bottle to a glass bottle, which prolongs the life of the oil and allows for it to stay fresher. This product makes you look like you have naturally beautiful hair.

Overall, I give the new Oleo Relax Oil, 5 Stars, as I was very impressed with the improved formula and packaging. Thank you Keratase for improving your product. I’m proud to be a loyal fan of your products.

The Kerastase site indicates that this is replacement for the DISCONTINUED OLEO RELAX SERUM. DEFINITELY NOT TRUE! This product is so OILY. Literally “sits” on surface of my hair, making it necessary to keep rubbing it into strands.

Does NOT make hair smooth, as the serum used to do for my hair. This product actually makes my long curly hair feel a bit “rough” as opposed to how the serum made my hair feel soft and smooth with resulting straightening effect, making it easier to manage, comb, style.

This oil also has an unappealing odor (notice I did not say “scent” b/c it is a bit off-putting). Also stays on hands, having to use (liquid) soap and very warm/hot water to remove, with two applications of soap.

Definitely will NOT purchase this again. I have half bottle of the original, using it judiciously. I have tried in vain to locate the original serum but like other reviewers have written, the product is being sold by scalpers at outlandish prices from $85 to $150 PER bottle.

Way out of my budget. I’ve written to Kepastase and have answered their survey questions, indicating that I’d appreciate knowing which product would BEST approximate the discontinued serum, and not one response.

Only be searching today on the site was there finally a reference to the original serum, with the advice to try this unacceptable, inferior Advanced Hair Oil. If you loved the serum, you are not going to be happy with this “replacement.

I used to like this oil ten years ago or so then then felt nostalgic and bought it again when I wasn’t able to find my all time fav, Redken anti-frizz oil that was thicker and really made my life easier while straightening my curly hair with a dryer.

Here are the pros: 1. It does the job, helping to straighten hair without making it greasy, but it you want a little bit of root volume with no frizz, this product may disappoint you – it kills all volume.

2. The smell is subtle, nice, and not overwhelming. 3. It’s relatively reasonably comparing to some other hair oils. Cons: 1. No volume 2. I’m read the review about the use of the silicon in this product, which is – I have to admit – is not an immediate turn off to me.

We, folks with curly hair, are unfortunately put in the position when we constantly have to trade off something for enjoying nice, straight, and shiny hair. From this perspective, silicon is better than formaldehyde used in Keratin straightening treatments.

But! This oil only remains on the surface of your hair (because of silicon) and doesn’t do anything to improve its quality. Summary: it’s an acceptable styling product, but not a hair repair treatment.

Consider this before buying.

I love this product, I have quite dry hair and this helps so much to make it feel soft and definitely helps with frizz. The bottle size is great because you get loads and it goes a long way. You can also use this when your hair is wet before drying it and it makes your hair look much healthier.

This is my first time using this product, I bought this to control my unruly frizzy hair and protect it from the constant heat of my hair dryer and straightners. I was worried an oil like this would leave my hair greasy but was very surprised that it did not.

My hair feels soft and silky and a lot less frizzy.

I want to love this but I don’t. I want to give this a better review but I honestly can’t. It’s an ok product. Wasn’t too greasy. Little bit goes a long way as with any hair oils. But I just can’t get over the artificial pina colada smells.

Smells just like the tree shaped car air fresheners with a coconut/tropical smell. Will I use it? Eventually yes. But it’s now a backup hair oil for when my other brand is being reordered/need to get more.

Just wish the description said what the scent was instead of fragrance(ordered online).

AMAZING I don’t normally take the time to write reviews but- I finally spent the money on this and I’ll never go back. I wear hair extensions that bolt to my hair, I can’t take them out. They become unbearably dry if I don’t use hair oil daily.

Omg this product. Smells amazing. It’s coconutty Leaves no greasy residue. At all. A lot of other products made my hair look visibly greasy. Silky results. No dry brittle feeling at all. Absorbs quickly into hair.

This stuff is the real deal. The MVP of all hair serums. I randomly picked this off a shelf at Target one day when I was in a rush and my hair has been thanking me for it ever since. It doesn’t really have a fragrance, which kind of bums me out personally because I love when my hair smells and the breeze hits it and you get a whiff of it 🤣.

I pair this with the Eva NYC Mane Magic Primer and let my hair air dry over night. It makes my hair amazingly soft, no frizz and just the slightest bit of a textured wave. I have thick, dark brown hair that does get oily but guess what… since using this product and the Eva NYC my oily hair has actually decreased.

Idk if it’s because of the products or something else but I’m thrilled. I would repurchase again and again and this will be a staple on my vanity.

I began using this product to restore hydration to my damaged bleached hair at the recommendation of my hair stylist. It has a nice smell, is not as heavy as other hair oils and can be used on wet or dry hair.

It absorbs into dry hair quickly and does not leave hair slick or greasy. I use it on my dry ends daily and occasionally mix it with my conditioner for a leave in conditioning treatment. The 3. 4 oz bottle has lasted me almost 24 months with almost daily use.

It is more expensive than other hair oils on the market but does deliver results. It is a good value based on the longevity of the product. A little goes a LONG way!.

I had such high hopes for this. I love Living Proof. the smell of their products is AMAZING and every single product I’ve tried (minus the texture mist, which is another story. ) I will gladly repurchase.

After being very satisfied with the Bumble and Bumble hairdresser’s oil (minus the scent), I was excited to try Living Proof’s hair oil. mainly because I love that signature scent so much. I bought Living Proof’s nourishing oil online on the Ulta website and had it delivered.

The very first time I used it, the dispenser stuck. While trying to unstick it, product was spilled by dripping down the side of the dispenser and bottle. Then the cap stuck to the dispenser and was difficult to remove.

🙄 Initially I thought that it had been damaged during shipping, and I resigned myself to the fact that I should have bought it in store. but then I started reading reviews and it turns out that this is an issue that many other people have experienced.

When paying $38 for a product, I expect the dispenser to work properly. I feel like a lot of product has been wasted due to this. and honestly it’s just annoying asf. I have tried to use this product both ways as directed, on damp and dry hair.

I was unimpressed with the results for both. It smells amazing at first but I found that the scent fades quickly. Also, I do not feel like it did anything for my hair. I did not notice any extra shine or softness.

It does not feel like it nourished my hair whatsoever, and since it does not offer heat protection, I had to mix it with other products when blow drying to make sure it didn’t damage my hair. A positive was that it didn’t weigh my hair down or feel greasy.

I used one pump each time, which is actually quite a bit of product, so I was pleasantly surprised that my long, fine hair did not feel greasy at all. I know this product is mainly marketed toward course hair, and I realize that my hair type is pretty much the opposite of that.

However, I still thought that it would provide some benefit. I was very disappointed to find out that besides the scent, this oil did nothing for my hair. I’m sad to say that I will not repurchase this.

I have very thick, coarse dark hair that gets frizzy at even the slightest hint of humidity. I was looking for a product to get me through the summers here in DC and was hoping this would be it. Unfortunately, it’s not the best fit for me.

I’ll start with the positives – it smells really good and when I first run the product through my hair, it does look sleeker and shinier. However, even just a short walk outside in the humidity instantly reverses any protection and my hair gets frizzy all over again.

It’ll poof back up in no time, and my baby hairs in particular go crazy. I’m not sure if this product would be more effective when paired with a hot tool–I always air dry my hair and rarely use a curling iron or flat iron.

Additionally, the pump on this bottle seems to have malfunctioned. When I press down, oil comes out, but the pump has extreme difficulty going back up, causing oil to be pushed out and leak all over the pump.

I have to manually grip the sides of the pump and pull it back up! Having to do this every time is super frustrating, and it gets the oil *everywhere*. I’ve heard a lot of hype about Living Proof products so I was really excited to try this; unfortunately, this turned out to be super disappointing and is something I definitely will not be repurchasing.

I would totally recommend this to people who live in very humid areas and who struggle with keeping their hair frizz free. I live on the east coast and have struggled even now that fall weather has arrived.

I came across this product and decided to give it a shot. After washing my hair and towel drying it I use one pump then let it air dry or blow dry it. Then I style my hair whether it be curling or straightening it.

Lastly, I use one more pump and run it through my hair after I’ve styled it and it keeps it looking great all day. Makes my hair very soft, shiny and healthy.

I pump about two or three squirts of this and rub it in the palm of my hands before I put it in my hair. It’s great after you straighten your hair to get that sleek look or just for fly aways and baby hairs.

This is probably the best serum i have ever tried on my frizzy dry hair. It’s not sticky or has that oily feeling when applied onto your hair. After a bath i pump a small amount of these product and apply it on my damp hair.

It makes my hair manageable and tangle free. I recommend these for hair that is untamable.

This should be one of L’ange’s top sellers, and take it from me, because I’m a certified L’ange addict and have tried 2/3 of their tools and products. t’s the perfect weight, moisturizing, imparts a wonderful very light gloss, and it’s not heavy.

The scent is fresh but very light, so it doesn’t cloy or trigger allergies. But let’s talk about the routine and results/benefits. It provides the best control of flyaways I’ve ever had. I have type 2A wavy hair and I live in Florida, so there’s absolutely no way to keep a blowout looking great, but even with my waves/curls and the heat and humidity, if I use this as my last product at the end of my styling routine, I no longer need hairspray or five other products to keep my hair as smooth and tame as it’s ever been in our weather.

You can use as suggested, but for me the perfect routine is: shampoo and condition with sulfite-feee products; towel dry (I like the microfiber hair wrap), treat damp hair with L’ange Sorbet, sometimes with or without L’ange Satin Nectar; blow dry with the L’ange blowdry brush; apply in small amounts (this is where I sometimes opt for a bit of the Nectar as well.

) This all takes me maybe 15 minutes,. 20 if I really want to get fancy with flipping the ends of my hair with the dryer. Voila. Go be hydrated and sleek.

I have used every single Lange styling product. I’m not a rep, I just love them and I love turning my friends on to things that work. I have just turned my 30th friend on to this product. Honestly, if I see someone with thin, limp hair like mine, I have to share my new, wash day routine.

I use this serum on my roots and ends and SELECTE on the majority of the length of my hair. I dry with the Lange large Round brush, making sure to dry at the root. Then move on to ends by drying down the shaft.

When I show people pictures of my hair before Lange, they don’t believe it. The smell is like a ripe nectarine. I can’t say enough about these two products.

I love this hybrid oil serum! This gives a little bit of hold, volume and shine. I mix sorbet with about a half of pump of this in my hair after I wash my hair and before I spray the conditioning spray in.

If I’m using my LeVolume, or Le Stylist is helps give my hair smooth, volume shiny hair, even if I decide to straighten it, curl, or just let it be natural. I can say this really helps the curls stay/hold better with this product.

It smells so good too and putting a dab on my hands and running it throughout the middle and ends just makes it look so much shinier. If you are thinking about trying this just buy it. You won’t be sorry you did!.

It’s Qld, it’s summer, most days are above 80% humidity and this stuff is fabulous. I have fine but thick hair that I like to blow dry into a short bob. 1-2 pumps of this, rub it into my palms and then rub it mid length through to ends before blowdrying and my hair holds the style for 2-3 days while still feeling soft and clean.

I did work out how much to use by experimenting, learning that for me 3-4 pumps left my hair a little stiffer than I like, but like anything, it’s trial and error. That said, this is a great styling product that leaves my hair smooth, holds the style and doesn’t build up in my hair.

The Best! Several drops of this leave-in conditioner after shampooing really makes a difference in the manageability of my blonde, somewhat dry hair. Without it, my hair is virtually unmanageable. I had been using a product that is no longer produced, but that can still be found online at astronomical prices, sold by independent vendors.

KMS works just as well as the product that costs five times as much. Try it!.

I have been purchasing the hair serum for a very long time so this isn’t my first review. but it deserves another shout out for being such a good product. last a several months and I use it every single day.

Just a pump warmed in my hand then massaged throughout my entire head and hair on days I wash my hair. each morning a small amount just on the ends. It is so light, absorbs instantly and leaves my hair shiny and healthy.

Seriously this is an awesome product. Some weeks in winter weather I will use a full pump or two throughout my dry hair leave on for entire day before a wash for extra conditioning. Even using more it looks like I just styled in a different way.

this is a long review but one more thing. the fragrance is so nice I will put a bit on my wrist to enjoy even more throughout the day!!!.

Jose’s products are all I buy & use. I am a senior on limited income. The word OIL probably turns off a lot of ladies. If you give her products a chance to absorb in to your hair & skin you will understand why her discovery of the wonders of argon oil are so different then other “oil” products , they do what no other moisture products have ever done for me.

My skin & hair love her products. The second thing I love about this product is it only takes drops to work! That makes it economical with my income, so I recommend her Argon Oil products very highly, I was a beauty consultant for many years, now I don’t use so much “makeup”, at my age, healthy looking skin go’s a long way to looking presentable.

A little bit of mascara, a touch of color on my fading brows, & lastly a touch of the wonderful color stick on my cheeks & lips. I don’t even bother with foundation on days of running errands! The smell is earthy and reminds me of a spa day. I love it! The product is light, tames my fly-always, and helps my hair not feel so dry. I use it on my wet hair and then put it in a bun. When I take my hair down, it is soft, smells great and in no way oily or weighed down.

I like the pump feature and that there are two sizes (one for home and one for travel. ) I started with the travel size and decided it was worth the splurge for the normal size. My only suggestion for improvement is not a reflection of the product itself – I wish it came in a larger size.

I tend to use at least 4 pumps throughout application as I have long hair and I use it from root to tip and not just for fly-always.
