20 Best Option For Rural Internet (2022 Updated)

Got 2 of these routers as part of Google Fiber subscription. Routers/AP supports WiFi Mesh technology, so signal should reach any corner of your home, up to 1900sqft. For my home 1100sqft even one of these works perfectly.

Setup was easy-breezy, using Google Home mobile app. Although, router lacks advanced settings like wifi mode and channel selection, for average casual user this shouldn’t cause discomfort. Design-wise it looks cozy, so you can leave it on the surface, you can even cotrol LED intensity what is well thought for dark environment.

I been paying for charter internet and speed wasnt great even though I was paying for it. Had a tech notion come out and he confirmed my reasons why it wasnt working as fast as it should be. the router.

Their router ran well for 1 level home but at having just moved into a 2 level condo the reach suffered upstairs. So I did some researching and stumbled on mesh routers that handled 2. 5 and 5 ghz networks, but are more on the bit pricey.

Luckily i found one on eBay to test it out and it wouldnt hurt my wallet too much. So far its been great the speed is at maximum and reaches the upstairs easily since its 1,200 sf this 1 mesh point is enough but I could add a second point later if we add more smart home devices which is great because we could move to a larger home and this system would hopefully not be absolute.

Highly recommend it, set up was easy and integrates with other google products.

We had been thinking of Google WiFi for a while, but as we had an extender, we never invested in one. Now with Covid and the whole family online, we thought we needed to enhance our WiFi coverage. Google WiFi with three routers covered the whole house.

The installation was super easy. When we tested, for coverage away from the central unit, the speed was 4 times faster. We are very happy with our Google WiFi.

I am a customer of Comcast Xfinity. I recently upgraded to the Extreme Pro 1200 plan. I had a Netgear C7000 modem I purchased years ago, which worked great for connections below 1gbps because that modem supported DOCSIS 3.

0. I purchased the Netgear CAX80-100NAS for two reasons, I needed a DOCSIS 3. 1 cable modem, and I wanted Wi-Fi 6 connectivity to compliment my Extreme Pro 1200 plan for my capable wireless devices. Xfinity removed my previous C7000 modem and added my CAX80 to my account.

This process took less than fifteen minutes. I was up and running. I immediately went to multiple sites testing to ensure I am getting up to advertised speeds of 1. 2gbps. After many short tests, I confirmed that Xfinity and the CAX80 exceeded my 1200mbps.

Great. The trouble began when I began to play some multiplayer games online. My connection would seize up and continue or just cutoff completely. The disconnection occurs while my CAT6 cable is connected in to the 2.

5GbE port on the CAX80 linked to the Realtek 2. 5GbE Ethernet port on my PC. This does not occur while plugged in to the Intel i211 1gbps port on my motherboard. The connection worked fine for 24 hours without interruption.

The next day, I wanted to resolve the issue with my 2. 5GbE connection because I am paying for 1. 2gbps through my Internet service provider (ISP). As some may not be aware, my Intel NIC only supports up to 1gbps.

I do not believe accepting the 1gbps connection to be a solution to my connection issues for a product that is in excess of $500. I wish to have the products and services I have paid for. The rabbit hole begins.

I visit Realtek’s website to update the drivers for the “Realtek PCIe 2. 5GbE Family Controller” https://www. realtek. com/en/downloads I chose the “Realtek PCIe FE” link as this is the compatible driver for my controller.

I can see that my NIC (RTL8125B) is listed. I then chose the “Win11 Auto Installation Program” for my operating system, Windows 11. I unzipped the file. Installed the driver and reconnected my CAT6 cable to my CAX80’s 2.

5GbE port and the Realtek 2. 5GbE port on my motherboard. As of this writing, the latest Realtek driver version is 1125. 6. 215. 2022. The date the driver was published was March 25, 2022. I then purchased an ASUS 2.

5G Ethernet USB Adapter to try to isolate that this was an issue with my Ethernet port on my motherboard and not the NIC built-in my CAX80 cable modem. I wanted to make sure I installed the latest driver for this device, and to my surprise, it too has a NIC from Realtek.

The modem within this device (RTL8156B). Using the link from above, I chose the “Realtek USB FE” link this time. Using the “Win11 Auto Installation Program (NetAdapterCx)”. Unzipped. Installed. This wireless driver version is 1156.

4. 20. 211. The date the driver was published was March 23, 2022. The problem persisted. Random cutouts throughout the day on both NICs. Absolutely random. Nothing I can replicate to isolate the cause of these disconnections.

Final thoughts. I can use my Wi-Fi 6 via the built-in wireless NIC on my motherboard. It is compatible with the CAX80 Wi-Fi 6 connections. It works well and I can get the advertised speeds. The NIC is “Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz”.

It does not disconnect nor have interruptions. However, the latencies are what you receive when utilizing wireless devices. This is fine for surfing the web or watching videos, but for multiplayer competitive gaming, it is not ideal.

I also want to add that my Netgear CAX80-100NAS has the latest firmware: V2. 1. 3. 7 installed on the device. A new revision of this product is needed and the CAX80 in its current production should be recalled.

A newer NIC is needed that resolves these issues. I have reached out to Netgear and Xfinity multiple times and the companies keep pointing the finger and going through the same troubleshooting processes from both support teams leads nowhere.

I cannot confirm the type of NIC inside of the CAX80 and their support team stands clear of identifying it. I cannot find another cable modem on the market that offers both 2. 5GbE and Wi-Fi 6. I am open to suggestions.

If you wish to visit Netgear’s community-based support pages of the CAX80, you will learn that this is a widespread issue being ignored. For the less advanced users who do not have the CAX80 plugged into a 2.

5GbE port will not realize there is any issue at all, as the CAX80 with an Ethernet cable plugged into its 2. 5GbE port to a 1gbps port will “Auto Negotiate” a 1gbps connection and function flawlessly.

Unfortunately, for us who want the highest speeds offered to us must seek other products.

This device has had several issues since I purchased it in March. From random internet and connection drops to lights being on and showing that the device is connected, only to have nothing connected to the internet, this router/modem has been an absolute nightmare.

A nightmare that cost me over $400 USD. But the worst? The worst has been customer service. After your first 90 days, expect to fork over $90 or more just to talk to a tech. If you don’t, expect things like not being able to log into your modem no matter how many times you type router dot login dot net or dot com, 192 168 1 1, or whatever garbage they tell you to go to, because it will take you to a Netgear page where they try and get you to buy more products, rather than to the admin page where you could possibly log into your router to see what is wrong.

Don’t expect them to have you try anything other than doing a hard reset, a factory reset, or a power cycle. What you can expect is hours, if not days, searching on the community forums, reddit forums, or other forums for someone who may have stumbled upon how to fix it.

Make sure you have at least a BS in computer technologies of some sort in order to understand what people are talking about and to get it to work as well. In the end, you will most likely end up dealing with these issues until a random firmware update fixes it days, or weeks, later, with little to no care from the Netgear team.

Don’t expect replacement products, either. Save yourself the money and the heartache AND DO NOT BY THIS TRASH!!!.

This is a great modem/router combo for people who have lot of devices at your home. Its technology is solid and you will feel blazing speeds on no interruption on any of your devices. This is a 5 star modem and is a future-proof modem for future internet bandwidth as well once Gigabit becomes the norm.

The only 1 star i am taking off is because this modem does not have QOS setting like previous netgear modems and the blufferbloat is really high in games. The blufferbloat is really high when multiple devices are in use and i was not able to fix it working with Netgear support (who were excellent staff) and did their very best to assist me to solve the issue.

Therefore, if you are a gamer you may need an additional router with good anti-blufferbloat settings but for home and office use this is the best modem i have used and Netgear has excelled with this product.

I only wished it had some of the features for QOS and other customization.

Unit works ok as a router , nothing special. Wifi is also ok but not the best for distance. ~ Big problem is using the router and its coax/Moca as it requires another part for it to work (Arris MEB1100).

Once you have the add-on moca bridge ( connected “directly” to the NVG468MQ) then it works for coax/moca ; however if you want to use your own Moca 2. 0 bridge for the coax directly connected to the router that too is a no go as it seems to work ONLY with the Arris MEB1100.

~ Once the Arris MEB1100 is installed directly to the router any other Moca device down the coax line will then work and not before. ~ Does work for Frontier Fios in Calif. ~ Would not recommend and ONLY if you need this to bypass the $10 monthly router fee.

I have a Verizon / Frontier MOCA ONT (white box on the wall of garage) and coax to the interior wall of my house by the desktop computer. I also bought the Arris MEB 1100 from the same seller on Ebay.

For me it was really plug and play. The router rebooted a couple of times and then everything was good to go. After reconfiguring all of my devices to the new router I was up and running!.

This router works perfectly for replacing your current FIOS router supplied by Frontier/Verizon. It’s really plug-n-play. I did it within 5 minutes (including power down old unit, unplug, plug, and power up new unit).

Now, Frontier may not remove your monthly rental fees. But that’s a separate issue. This is a very decent router on its own for a moderate size (3,000 to 4,000 sqft) home. Any larger, go with a stronger router or mesh (Orbi, Velop, etc).

The Good: Wifi Speeds were amazing. Nice looking units that fit in nicely on a shelf with existing decor. Easy to do address reservations and port forwarding. The Bad: Limited Features. The router determines whether a device uses 2.

4 or 5ghz signal. Might be great for a regular user, but to me this is annoying because my new iPhone can connect to either, so the router placed it on a 2. 4 channel that yielded slower speeds and there was no way for me to change it like I can do with my old Nighthawk.

It has known compatibility issues with wireless Amcrest cameras (wish I would have known that since I have a system built around Amcrest), Satellite Signal Drops from base station constantly. I bought the system that has 3 satellites and live in a 4,000 sqft house yet they kept disconnecting.

App Issues – It took 3 hrs to get the app to work correctly to finalize setup (I have a nighthawk and am used to the app and it still gave me issues), The other issue with the App is that if you change a device name, it doesn’t translate to the Embedded UI.

Device connectivity to the satellites is an issue because when booting up the system, it seems that the router boots before the satellites thus having everything connect to the base (router). It would be nice if you could also manually move devices to the appropriate satellite, but you can’t do that.

I had a satellite in my finished basement that next to it was a smart TV and a Google Home, both of which would not connect to the satellite next to it, they connected to the router 1 level up. Very frustrating.

I read some blogs about turning signal strength down and that seemed to help, but my wifi range suffered in other areas. I have over 50 devices connected to my router between wired and wifi. I don’t think Orbi liked that many devices (35+ continuously active).

I also read about ways to get Orbi to communicate better by disabling MU-MIMO, but to me that defeats the purpose of a state of the art router. Lastly, Netgear Armor destroyed my connectivity and streaming capabilities.

In theory it was a great idea, but once I disabled it my speeds and streaming ability improved. I like Netgear products, but this one wasn’t for me. I went back to my Netgear Nighthawk X6 R8000 and it performs twice as good with my devices than the Orbi did (even thought I’m comparing Wifi 5 to the Orbi Wifi 6 which doesn’t even compare speedwise).

I think my next step will be the newest Wifi 6 Nighthawk Router. My advice is to do more research before buying Orbi if you’re a power user.

I purchased this product after seeing multiple positive reviews on tech review sites. There were some negative reviews on Amazon but there are always a few. I should have listened to what they said. When the Nighthawk Mesh extender arrived, I followed the installation instructions using the Nighthawk app.

The QR code didn’t scan correctly so I did a manual install. Unfortunately I had to stop when it mentioned using the “included” Ethernet cable, which wasn’t included. I then configured it using the WPS approach but none of my devices received any signal despite the extender appearing to transmit.

On my iPhone, I kept getting a separate security certificate error message and it didn’t receive internet either. I tried to go through the reconfiguration steps several more times and then called tech support.

After being on hold for almost an hour, I was connected to someone who said I needed to speak to a specialist. I was on hold for 30 more minutes. By this point, when I checked my computer, it seemed to be receiving a signal.

I couldn’t check my phone because I was speaking on it, but the tech support person said that the error message I got was nothing to worry about and it shouldn’t appear again. But the next day, it did and I couldn’t send email from my iPhone without shutting off the nighthawk extender.

I looked online for solutions and apparently this is a common, known problem with this extender and Apple products. All of the “solutions” being suggested on the community forum involved significant admin level changes to fix and many seemed to weaken network security.

As an IT professional, I’m perfectly capable of doing complex command language level changes, but not if it compromises my network security. Consequently, I ended up returning the product. The return process seems to have gone smoothly but I’ve not seen my charge refunded yet so I’m reluctant to say that it’s too easy.

Overall, I’d recommend going with a brand other than Netgear especially if you have Apple devices that you need to connect.

I bought this system because a friend of mine has it and because of the Netgear name. I have even talked a friend of mine to purchase this system on Cyber Monday which he did but was only able to purchase the Router and 1 Satellite instead of the two because the Cart would add it but when you try to go to the next step the cart was empty.

I even tried to purchase it for him and had the same results. I told him to purchase the Router and 1 Satellite to have this system at the reduced price. So I have tried to install the Router several times now and have had no connection between the Modem and the Router.

I have tried to power them up, unplug everything, used a different ethernet cord, moved the Router to a different location and still everything I tried the Router doesn’t connect to the TDS modem with an IP address.

The TDS Modem does put out TCP/IP to things that get plugged into it so I know that the TDS modem is working and that the ports on the back of it work. The TDS modem is a WiFi modem and I do not know if this is an issue but it shouldn’t be since the Netgear Modem is getting plugged directly into the TDS modem.

I do not know if my Netgear Modem is bad because the only way to trouble shoot this is to take it to work and plug it into that network to see if it can obtain an IP from that router. The person (friend of mine) who talked me into this system says that it one of the best and that he has no issues, my friend that I talked into buying this system is in his late 60’s so I guess I will have to go to his place and try to set his up because he is unable to, I think it is more that he is not a Techie so things are harder for him to do.

All in all, I wish I wasn’t having these issues because I believe that Netgear makes great stuff, I have bought Netgear back in the 1990’s when I hosted LAN party’s because they where the best, I hope that the issue is with TDS and not this unit but with the testing that I have done it is pointing to the Router and not my TDS modem.

This is probably not what you expect. It caught me by surprise. The day came that I got tired of having to reboot my cable modem because my internet cut out. I decided to research a possible second ISP.

I decided to add a line to my cell service (I had 3 for $90 and went to 4 for $100) for a $10 difference. I did my research and came up with this gem. I quickly configured it as soon as it arrived. I saw tha everytime I unplugged the cable modem it kicked in and took over quickly.

I spent the next couple of days slowly segregating my network and moving all my devices to just this devices ISP (yes I removed the cable modem). It has been over a week and my whole house (multiple TVs, multiple tablets, and multiple PCs) run off of it.

I have a switch coming off of it that splits off to my wifi and my VoiP phone service. This little gem is wonderful. I love it and appreciate it so much I actually followed up by buying an extended warranty.

While the price might seem steep for a device so small, I got rid of my cable ISP and it will be saving me $70 a month (Yes it is paid off in 2 months).

I purchased a T-Mobile internet plan, (Not prepaid) installed SIM card, connected LAN port to my computer, and it was on line in seconds. It has clear instructions, and an online manual if needed. Keep in mind, this is a modem, not a router.

It does not have built in WiFi, like the Nighthawk, for example. I set it up with a single computer, (directly connected) and it automatically connected my browser to the internet. You could connect it to a router for WiFi or a switch for an Ethernet hardwired network.

I am using it with a security camera DVR monitoring because I dont have cable or other internet available on that property, and I choose not to use satellite for security due to potential latency problems (satellite is good for TV however).

With 3+ bars cellular is doing fine. Seems well made and simple. The open box unit is like new, works perfectly. Hopefully it will stand up to constant use!.

I really like the LB2122 and have replaced several (lousy/slow) DSL lines with it using wireless carriers. Although I recommend the modem, for my (and some other) applications, the Fallover configuration is only 1.

Auto – Use wireline by default and failover to mobile broadband. 2. Wireline Broadband only and 3. Mobile Broadband only. UNFORTUNATELY, we use the modem primary in the Mobile Broadband and the fallover to a secondary mobile broadband, or, in some locations, fallover to DSL.

Why can not Netgear give one more option for Wireless Primary and fall over to a secondary???? Such an apparently simple software fix. Why? A.

Full disclosure. I purchased NETGEAR Orbi 753S from Costco not Amazon, because Costco offered 1 year of Free Technical Support not NETGEAR’s 90 Day standard Technical Support contract. After Unboxing and setting up, I already had my first call into Technical Support, as the product was not plug and play like advertised.

Many devices that use 2. 4G not 5G had issues trying to connect to system. Trying to get help from Tech. Support is impossible! After long wait times on hold (30 minutes to over 1 hour) you will hit a call center based in a foreign country, so language barriers exist and are quite prevalent.

The system seems to be very quirky, as it may work for multiple days and weeks flawlessly, but then for no reason, quite working altogether or have satellites drop in and out causing your wi-fi connected devices to stop functioning properly.

The system is set up with warning lights on the router and the satellites to warn you of issues with the system, but unfortunately ghost lights do occur according to Tech. Support, and they have no solutions to fix the issue.

Costco 1 year Technical Support is not worth the paper (Box) it is written on, because after the 90 days I have spoken with multiple technicians who want to charge you on a per call basis to fix the issue, which never really seems to get resolved.

Unless you are a programmer, or no something about programming, Technical support often leads you through going to a login, and completing multiple steps (writing code) which is supposed to fix the issues, but never does.

NETGEAR is interested in the initial sale of the Orbi, and then signing you up for a service contract after the free 90 days of support that can cost anywhere from $140 to $220. That may work for you, but when you have a product that is warranted for 1 year, try getting your product repaired or replaced for free when Technical support won’t even talk to you because you have not signed up for their service contract.

This is pure extortion on NETGEARS part because they know that they have a product that will need Technical help at some point, and if you are unwilling to pay for it, you basically have a paperweight not a router with Wi-Fi extenders.

DO NOT BUY! This issue seems to be prevelant on all NETGEAR Routers and Extenders!.

I bought this system to provide wifi for our small church. We have roughly 5000 sq. ft. of space, so I purchased the 2 satellite version, but one may have been enough. I was getting pretty good coverage before plugging in the second unit.

Setup is not complicated, but it is helpful to read the instructions to understand how the system is designed. The units all look the same. The router is identifiable only by the stickers on it. Each unit has its own set of LAN ports.

By default, it comes with profiles for each of the 4 SSIDs that indicate how each might be used: Administration, employee devices, Internet of Things (IOT), and guest. The guest setup assumes you will want to obtain and agreement for terms of use before proceeding.

The network shows as unsecured. The password you set it taken as part of the agreement process. There does not seem to be a way to change this behavior, but it may be that I missed it. The Virtual LAN (VLAN) profiles can be changed for each SSID, and that determines the level of access each client has and whether it can see other clients on the network.

Since I did not want to use the agreement process at this time and we don’t really need a separate employee network, I applied the guest profile to the employee SSID to create the standard wifi password connection I was looking for.

The routers interface is easy enough to use, but one should be aware that when configuring the wifi profiles changes must be applied before leaving the tab for that network, and the process of saving the changes seems to take much longer than it should, apparently due to the way that the router shares it’s configuration with the satellites.

The router does have features for virtual DNS and remote management if desired, as well as facility for creating a DMZ for Internet facing servers. We have not yet put any real stress on the network, but throughput seems to be good.

I may need to update this after we’ve had more time with it, but so far it seems like a solid system. I will be considering a Netgear product the next time I need a new router for my home.

We have subscribed to Gigabit internet service for a couple of years and since my home office is the furthest distance away from the wifi router, I would struggle with much slower speeds and internet stability/connectivity issues during video calls.

I started researching mesh wifi router systems which led me to the Orbi WiFi 6 system (RBK750 series). Initially, because we live in an older home with plaster walls and other physical obstacles (i. e.

the plumbing, tile and porcelain in bathrooms all likely add some interference), the wifi mesh did help my internet reliability, but it did not help my download speeds. After two cable company visits and more research, it became clear the solution was putting a wifi mesh satellite in my home office and then using an ethernet cable to connect my laptop directly to the satellite.

Even though the signal to the satellite is still coming over the mesh wifi wirelessly, the speeds coming directly out of the satellite via the ethernet cable are VASTLY improved! Before this solution, I was averaging 100Mbps to 150Mbps and a ping of 14 to 18 (using speedtest.

net) to now averaging 500Mbps to 600Mbps and a ping of 9 to 12!! The other satellite in our system with a more direct site line to the main wifi router is averaging 800 Mbps using this same connection setup!! Now that everything is set up, it is working flawlessly and I am very happy with the results!.

This was my first wifi system ever after moving out of my parent’s house and it was easy to set up. buying it outright means I didn’t have to rent the modem/router from xfinity and it saved me some coin (14$) on my monthly payment.

Make an account with xfinity then set up the router, and you’ll connect the router to your account through the xfinity app if you have iPhone (idk for android) and after it’s on and connected to xfinity, you have to download the app for the router mention in the instruction manual, and enter the details of the router into that app as well.

then, it is ready to work. I struggled with getting the names and passwords assigned to the internets on my account, like I’d have 3 names pop up in my phone’s wifi settings, two being 5g and one being 2.

4g, and I had to be on 2. 4g to make edits to the router settings but when I’d switch from the 5g to 2. 4g (not cellular) it would throw my connection in the trash 30 seconds after I connected. so I had to work fast to delete the guest network and cement a password into the 5g setting of the router’s app.

it gave me more trouble by not having a 5g page in the app to edit at all so I had to make the guest 5g just to edit the regular 5g. it was a little bit of running around and I suggest when you set it up originally, don’t confuse your networks or passwords.

I have them cooking smoothly now and my signal doesn’t drop or fade. It’s great for my small space. big houses might want a wireless access point upgrade but dorms, apartments, small houses and it’s fine by itself but your experience may vary.

using an internet speed test from google will help you see what your signal does behind closed doors or walls and is a great free diagnostic tool. my last bit of information that I had to claw and bite for on the internet is that this WiFi Cable Modem Router is a standalone unit.

You connect it to the wall with a coax cable (xfinity gave me one but you might have to buy one) and after you have an account with your Internet Service Provider (xfinity for my area) then this box will do all the work unless you choose to add extra bits.

It is a modem, router, access point, and has 4 switched connection points onboard. It’s pretty dang space conscious and I am happy with my purchase.

Netgear really keeps the compation on their Toes. They are always developing the most up-to-date product on the market. This is why I haven’t bothered using anything else on the market. You don’t stray from a top of the industry leader to a third rank hopefully it might be good enough company.

Every time I suggest switching from what they are using to a Netgear product, they just can’t believe what a difference it has made for them. No more connectivity issues or dropping connections during the most inconvenient times, when they needed to be connected the most.

If you are having issues getting to the internet and are just feed up it all. Do yourself a huge favor and switch to Netgear, you won’t regret it in the least. But on the other hand, you live for frustration and thrive on it.

Then you shouldn’t switch. If you’re one of those people who have more money then you know what to do with and enjoy paying a monthly fee to rent from your provider, then this wouldn’t be something you would be interested in getting.

On the other hand Most all of the Major Internet Companies, support Netgear products, even suggest using them, if your tired of renting. Basically it’s a no brainer.

Well, I thought about it for awhile and then I just went ahead and bought it. I took it in to get registered at the cable store mac number registration counter and put in the time hooking and unhooking, typing in passwords, and calling, and in the end it was just incredible.

Oh! The applause we got! We did a two minute unplugged power cycle and subsequently were connected on all levels of the universe! I will save approximately $168 a year and be thankful to the online community (who we should all be thankful for) for my new dual-band connectivity.

And wouldn’t you know it, it was another funny pet video on YouTube, and I was on my way. I don’t upload, though, I’m not that sort of citizen. I like my router flexibility to be quasi-metaverse social.

I need my why-fries sizzling, if you can catch my drift. I don’t do video buffering. No more! I have tasted that cheese and it was moldy (and worst of all, unmelted. Boo!). I am not a mouse running from a hole in the wall to masticate and digest that queso.

If you are needing a Wi-Fi router/cable modem combo that will pull actual Gigabit speeds for a few devices without much fuss, this one is perfect. That is what I required of mine when purchased a year ago and that is what I got.

If you want to to stream 4k quality TV in one room while you browse online for a new router/modem while your wife and daughter are watching TikTok on their phones and your son is using his PlayStation to test if the “unlimited data” promise from your ISP is truly unlimited, with a couple devices on Wi-Fi here and there, this modem is for you.

Mine handled all that and more for a year with little issue. Now, if I want to do some gaming with my kids… FAT CHANCE. Even with everything else disconnected, three game systems are just too much for this thing to handle and you should not expect it too.

Taking away one star because the Arris is not actually Arris, it is Commscope and the app that they push on you is complete garbage that never works and their “customer service” goes no further than “have you tried unplugging it and plugging it back in?” Beyond that and you’re on your own.

Additionally, the manufacturers warranty will have you without a modem for two weeks unless you want to shell out $100 to pay for “advanced replacement”. I recommend the replacement warranty offered by BestBuy for this device and I rarely ever say that.

We were looking for a decent cable modem & router for our apartment, so that we need not squander money paying Comcast to rent one of theirs. The reviews on this one looked good, so I pulled the trigger.

It’s a nice package, with a compact footprint which is nice. Setup via the free app software was tolerably easy. The MAC ID on this modem is not clearly identified: there are 2 of them, which differ by one character.

This caused confusion and delay when setting it up with the cable company, but once resolved ceased to be an issue. Signal strength is not as good as what you would get with a dedicated router with adjustable antennas; the thick brick walls also impede signal at the other end of the house, and was easily remedied with a $20 mesh extender.

Throughput is decent and as-advertised; note that this unit is best for households with routine data loads, rather than multiple persons streaming 8K video. For a normal user looking for a decent household modem/router, this is a good product.

I like this modem/router a LOT! It performs! I have been struggling for the past 2 years with a Spectrum supplied Technicolor modem/router. Had all kinds of glitches and irregularities with it. I couldn’t get the speeds and performance I was paying for.

Finally had enough. I couldn’t be happier with this Arris G34 modem/router combo. I have had and used many different brands of modems and routers over the years. I am very pleased with this G34. It does what it says – no if, ands or buts.

It was easy to set up. I didn’t use the App. I like to use the user interface – 192. 168. 0. 1. I had everything configured as I wanted it in a few minutes. I have a couple devices that need assigned (static) IP addresses on my network.

Doing that was a breeze with this router. The user interface in this router is probably the easiest I have ever used. I highly recommend this modem/router combo. I am now getting the speeds I should have been getting.

I am happy to know that I have the latest technology. The WiFI 6 capability and performance is phenomenal! Highly Recommend this modem/router.

If you live out in the sticks and only have low speed wired broadband options available to the house (like I did) this may be the perfect solution. Wired broadband is expensive, it can be substandard, and more importantly it can tie you into a 12, 18 or 24 month contract.

I have used a pocket 3G Mi-Fi hub for a few years and it has served my needs well. Now the time has come to work from home and my little 3G hub wasnt fast enough and didnt offer the connectivity I now require.

This 4G router has it all. I now get 4G wireless broadband out of thin air which can be shared wirelessly around the house or by Ethernet cable. Worked straight out of the box. Simple to set up and has performed brilliantly.

As this is unlocked, like a mobile phone, I can stick whatever SIM card I like into it and share 4G internet around the house. I went with Vodafone unlimited 4G on a 30 day contract SIM which suited my needs.

This is now a faster internet connection than I had down the BT telephone wire direct from BT 6 years ago. Perfect! Thanks TP-Link for creating an excellent, reliable, secure, easy to use 4G home router.

If you are in a situation like me, choose one of these, then subscribe to a data SIM that gives you the strongest 4G signal in your home. It wont disappoint.

Have used this for internet access at coastal property on Kapiti coast. CCTV and alarm ip monitoring running. Very simple to use for not so technical user. Only needed to install Sim Card and power up, couple of minutes later internet available via wifi or lan ports dhcp.

There’s plenty of the usual options if you wish to delve deeper into the device programming but its about as simple as it gets. Only installed for several days at this stage but in my experience these devices usually provide reasonable service life if installed in cool dry locations.

On 2degrees network.

Very easy to set up. Has useful programmable features and a phone app is available to give a direct link to the router. We use 4G for home internet because cable broadband is unreliable here. Used an external aerial on the old Huawei mi-fi but this TP-Link router doesn’t seem to need one.

The wired ports give faster speeds than the wi-fi for nearby computers. It can also be used as a cable broadband router which switches automatically to 4G if the cable fails. CCL’s delivery was quicker than promised.

Reliable wifi is more important than ever with security cameras, home entertainment, etc. We have 23 devices to date and my older wifi mesh system required constant reboots and speeds weren’t up to par in nodes.

Wifi 6 allows much faster throughput with wifi 6 devices. I’m connecting in man cave and master bath at 470mbps with my iphone 13. Easy set up, great range, and reliability are strengths of this router.

You can spend much more and get much less if you aren’t careful. 4 Ethernet ports come in handy also. There is no substitute for some knowledge on how wifi needs to be set up depending on specific devices.

It’s always better to hardwire with Ethernet if possible but sometimes not possible depending on structure. It would be very difficult to get a better performing router at this price point, especially if you have compatible wifi 6 devices.

I have a 400 mbps spectrum internet plan as an fyi. With my amplifi 3 station system I replaced I had slow speeds in areas I used mesh points and had to continuously reboot. I’m getting faster speeds and better reliability with this wifi 6 router.

I had invested 300 in old system and got 3 years out of that system. This router is the best on market in my opinion (at this price) by today’s standards. It also allows excellent expansion if needed.

I would start with 1 and see if your content with performance. I think you will be pleasantly surprised. Range is also excellent with external antennas. Our home is 2200 square foot ranch and this does a great job inside and outside with my wifi 6 phone.

Just got this router. Setting it up was a challenge: The app I downloaded asked me to scan a QR code that did not exist. So I went with the manual setup choice. The app insisted that I be on the network.

It should have specified that I need to connect to the “Netgear” wi-fi that appeared. I figured that I should connect to it, but it asked for a password. The minimal amount of documentation (simply a large card) did not have it.

The documentation and the app suggest that the user look online to documentation and videos. However, I have no internet connection while I am setting it up! Finally, I asked a friend to bring his smartphone, He had exhausted his data allowance, so we were only able to go online for a few seconds to find a helpline buried deep – probably deliberately – in the Netgear sight.

Called the helpline and a tech confined that I need to connect to the Netgear wi-fi that appears. And the password is under the router! So a setup that could have been only ten minutes cost me three hours! Netgear, get your act together: 1- Put a QR on the modem if you are calling one.

2- Add where the password is.

Netgear never disappoints. In this case, we opened a new business and had the cable company install their business service, including WiFi. When we learned that we could not create guest access using their router, I promptly returned it and purchased a smaller, mesh router.

It was terrible. Settings were very limited. Only one ethernet port. Range was dubious and it dropped the signal. So, back it went and I just spent a little more money and got the Netgear. Had it installed in just a short time, with everything set as we needed and wanted, including guest access.

All speed test numbers went up. Just brilliant. Only downside is it comes with add-on services, like a free trial of a security package, that they push hard for you to subscribe to. Otherwise, love it.

Highly recommend the hardware for it’s function and the setup is straightforward.

This is the third router I’ve purchased trying to maintain reasonably fast signal within all corners of our approx. 2500-2750 sq. ft home, with a reliable connection for over 25 regular clients on the network, and upwards of 10 or more guest devices during peak family visits.

Also needed something that would extend to our detached garage, approx. 40′ from the router, with exterior walls in the line of sight between the router and inside the garage. In the house on the same floor, speeds are reaching 400-500 mbps, upper and lower floors are seeing 100-200 mbps, and the garage is achieving 25-75 mpbs depending on the location in the garage, plenty to stream YouTube video on the TV.

User Interface for setup and management of the router has a number of advanced tweaking functionality, but includes a basic mode for unfamiliar users, making it super easy to setup and manage for anyone.

Bonus, AX model router supports TP-Link Mesh networking, whereas the upgrade model the AX50 and 55 don’t currently support it. Just something to consider, as the mesh setup may not be on your list of needs.

Short review – This is a “mid range” wifi 6 (ax) router that will work and exceed most people’s expectations for its price. Details – This is a wifi 6 router, which means it supports the new wifi convention ax, the previous ones were known as ac, n, g which have now been renames as wifi 5, 4, 3.

This means that newer devices that are wifi 6 compatible will really benefit from the new tech which will clear up any congestion on your home network. But if you are using older devices that only have an ac wifi card in your device, do not worry, ALL wifi 6 routers are rated for backwards compatibility.

With Wifi 6 , it also comes with MU-MIMO technology, which in laymans terms means you will be getting much better stable connections between all your devices. The 1800 in the ax1800 stands for up to 574mbps on 2.

4ghz channel and 1201 mbps on 5 ghz channel. Frankly I am not sure what the difference between the Archer AX20 vs AX21, since both are listed as Archer AX1800. This might just be something to differentiate between retailers.

As far as I can tell on their website the specs are the same across the board. Ethernet ports are rated for gigabit, so thats going to be plenty for most of residential users. The USB port is unfortunately only 2.

I have this placed in a central location in the house, coming from from a dual band ac600 (300/300) router, I am getting amazing speeds, but importently I am getting 5-4 bars in all 7 rooms in the house, 4 on the same level as the router, with 2-3 walls in between, and the 3 rooms in the basement.

I am slowly getting more wifi 6 devices, such as my smartphones, laptop (you can easily upgrade wifi cards in your laptops), ps5 and I am getting amazing wifi speeds. I pay for the 1000 mbps internet service, and at best I was getting around 450 on the 5ghz channel about 10 feet away, with one wall.

Now on the TP Link AX20, I am now getting 800-900 on the 5hz channel about 10 feet away with one wall.

For an affordable dual band router, this was a great upgrade. We’re consistently getting download and upload speeds that are twice as fast as our 5-year-old tri-band Netgear router, and even with one less antenna, the issues with devices with being dropped from the network or connectivity crawling to a snails pace because the network gets overwhelmed have virtually disappeared.

Now, we are two people living in a 2-bedroom apartment with gig internet via fiber in a well-connected urban area. We both work from home and have had several meetings with six people using the home’s connection all at once, and the router has handled all that capably.

I’ve been able to have video calls while five people are working in the kitchen, no problem. However, we’ve noticed a significant drop-off in signal strength in the bedroom, so I imagine this router would be unsuitable for a larger space (honestly, it wasn’t designed for that).

But for getting into 6th-gen internet for under $130, you’d be hard-pressed to do better.

These are great, until (as happened with my previous one) it just dies and quits working, for no apparent reason. Neither Boost Mobile nor Netgear is willing to do anything at all to help, unless it’s still under warranty (one year).

After that, apparently you have little choice but to throw it away and just buy another one. Both companies have tech support staffs which aren’t helpful at all (leave you on hold for long times, give useless advice, refer you to wrong phone numbers at other companies, etc etc).

Good product, until it stops working. The companies involved (manufacturer, service provider) are both nearly-useless.

I had this item through AT&T, after 15 months it stopped working. Warranty was up but still had 9 months on conttact. Was cheaper to go to Walmart and buy this then terminate my contract. Just installed my Sim from other unit into this one.

Make sure you get 2yr warranty with Walmart cause AT&T only offer 1yr direct from them.

I bought this because our family plan with 6G’s don’t last all month. I figured the 2G would be enough. Well my daughter left her wifi on and it used up the 2G in about 4 hours. I was ecstatic to say the least.

Its a good thing if you have a good service connection where you’re using it.

Great product with lots of advanced features. But you do need to be confident in configuring MikroTik routers and understanding LTE technology, ie know where the local masts are located and if it can support carrier aggregation.

Would highly recommend it for rural locations within range of a 4G+ mast, as it has enabled me to achieve high speed internet not currently possible via land line or even WISP services. Currently on Three contract with unlimited data for 15 per month.

Highly recommended, got a Signal to noise ratio of 20 where before was less than 6 Love this product!! Complex to configure, recommended for techies who like to mess with devices.

I bought this modem (Motorola MT7711) because it advertised download speeds over LAN and WiFi much greater than my subscribed cable speed of 400 Mbps (from Comcast). While the speed test showed that its speed on LAN (when a computer is connected to the modem using LAN cable) matched my cable’s subscribed speed on both IPv4 and IPv6, its speed on 5 GHz WiFi (at the maximum possible WiFi bandwidth of 80 MHz) is less than half (about 175 Mbps) of the subscribed speed (400 Mbps) over IPv6.

Please note that applications by default use IPv6, not IPv4, so it is very important that it gives the full speed on IPv6. Only when the speed test is forced to use IPv4 that it gives the subscribed speed (400 Mbps) on 5 GHz WiFi (when using 80 MHz WiFi bandwidth).

This behavior is very consistent and is clearly a software issue (the problem only happens on 5 GHz WiFi on IPv6, not on 5 GHz WiFi on IPv4). Also, it looks like the maximum speed that this modem can ever give on 5 GHz WiFi on IPv6 (at the maximum 80 MHz WiFi bandwidth), irrespective of how high is the cable’s subscribed speed, is about 175 Mbps.

When reached out to Motorola, their only response (besides having me do a modem reset, which made no difference) was to swap out the modem with another one (which they said could also be a refurbished one).

But that is not going to solve the problem. Since it is a software problem, it needs to be fixed in the software. Despite repeated requests, Motorola did not show any interest in doing the software fix.

Unfortunately, I discovered this critical issue after the 14 day return period; so I am stuck with it. It is so disappointing to be relegated to less than half of the subscribed speed due to this software issue with the modem, which Motorola has no interest in fixing.

First I tried the Arris G36 which is fast and has a strong signal when it works but setting it up with the app or web interface was basically impossible as both lose connection with the router randomly.

I couldn’t even change the DHCP lease time with it. The settings indicated I had changed the lease time but every 24 hours the lease for all of my smart devices would renew anyway. The last straw was when it reset itself to factory default for no apparent reason while I was at work losing all of the settings I had managed to change.

Then I tried the Netgear Nighthawk AX2700, what a complete piece of garbage it ended up being. It never worked so I contacted their customer support which I’m pretty sure a random person working the drive-thru at McDonalds would be more knowledgeable.

I couldn’t get any devices to connect to the Netgear unless I disabled DHCP and gave everything static IPs. Netgear’s bright idea for me to solve this issue was for me to change my SSID which I had had the same one for over 10 years.

Not sure how that would have helped anyway so I returned it to the store as well. Finally I tried the Motorola MT8733, apparently the 3rd time is the charm. I could not be more impressed. In about 15 or 20 minutes from taking it out of the box I was online with everything set the way I wanted.

The WiFi is stong and fast! I also tested the wired speed from one of the ethernet ports and I’m getting 1 Gbps. I’ve had a landline for years but I’ve never actually used it. Since the MT8733 has two phone line ports I hooked up a phone to it and that works great as well.

There isn’t much to the Motosync app outside of some parental controls, pausing your WiFi, and other basic functions. But everything you need if you want to adjust some settings like say your DHCP lease time can be found on the web interface (192.

168. 0. 1) This modem/router is a little pricier than the other two I mentioned but if you’re wanting to upgrade to Wifi6 or DOCSIS 3. 1 then this is your device. The biggest pro to me was how easy it was to set up as it actually worked the way it’s supposed vs the other two products.

Besides that it just works, it also looks great sitting on my dresser.

I upgraded my ISP plan from 105 mbps to Xfinity’s 1. 2 gbps plan, this time I decided to buy my own modem instead of renting from Xfinity. I can confirm that this modem works perfectly fine with Xfinity (at least here in Chicago).

Set up was a breeze, I was able to set up the modem without having to have an installer come out by using Xfinity app and and activating the modem. It was actually a lot easier than I had expected, I was glad I was able to do it through the app and not having to call customer support.

The unit only has 1x 2. 5gpbs ports which l was able to get +1. 4 gbps speeds directly to my pc when hard wired directly to that port. You may need to upgrade your network card and/or your ethernet cable to achieve speeds >1.

0 gbps. Wifi works, but I have a home with multiple floors so there is a drop off in performance as you get further away from the modem. Right next the the modem, my phone was getting +550 mbps speeds.

As I reached the farthest corner of my house, the speeds dropped to +150 mbps. So depending on the layout and construction of your house the wifi may be great or you may need other methods for wifi. The telephone works as expected, but honestly I haven’t had to use it much.

The modem has a nice matte finish and a relatively medium foot print. It’s LED’s are bright and informative. The web interface is pretty standard, with descriptions for each option of you hover your mouse over the question mark.

The Moto Sync app is a pretty decent app and relatively user friendly. You can set parental controls, block (or allow) websites, set schedules and even turn on or off wifi to specific devices on the fly.

IšverstiShow in original languageThe new Mesh WiFi 6 system from Netgear really extends the network for any home and provides added network security features which aren’t available in older generation gear.

A few of these new features are the addition of WPA3 security, App alerts whenever a new device connects, vulnerability scanning of connected devices, and the ability to disconnect unwanted or unauthorized devices with the swipe of a control on your phone.

The router and two additional satellites were very easy to set up using the Nighthawk App which is available for Android or iPhone. My setup was done using an iPhone, and I was able to get up and running by following the straight forward instructions presented in the App.

In all, it took about 15-20 minutes to set up a basic configuration, and just a little more time for me to move the satellites around to different locations to test signal strength and conduct speed tests.

The Nighthawk App is proactive in keeping the router and satellite firmware up to date and checks to see if a new version is available during setup. This is a good thing, as it is very common for new firmware to be released periodically to add features, or to install security patches as new security vulnerabilities are reported.

My router had an update waiting for it right out of the box, and the process was nearly automatic and took no longer than 5 minutes. It is really nice to know the Nighthawk is focused on security, and is working for you behind the scenes to stay ahead of the “bad” actors on the Internet.

Two of my newer laptops instantly recognized the WiFi 6 upgrade from my older WiFi system, and the location upstairs where we previously had a weak signal and slow speeds, now has a much stronger signal and much quicker downloads.

I have a fiber Internet connection to the house with 500/500Mbps service. The speed test conveniently built into the Nighthawk App tested the connection of my ISP and returned results of 512 down and 505 up.

So, there are definitely no bottlenecks between the router and the ISP. Netgear’s Armor security protection is provided as a 30 day trial, with the option to install Bit Defender on your connected devices if you so desire.

Nice that I can try before I subscribe. For tech savvy folks, the traditional method of setting up the router is still available via a web interface which is accessible through a browser pointing to the router’s internal IP address.

You’ll definitely want to check it out, if you are into configuring the more advanced features. For example, I adhere to the practice of disabling the SSID broadcast on a private network, and that task requires accessing the advanced tab in the web interface of the router.

A second broadcasted guest network is available as an option to turn on for visitors, so you won’t have to disclose your hidden SSID and password for your private WiFi network. Overall: a fast, customizable, whole-home-covering Wifi system at a solid value.

IšverstiShow in original languageAs the title states, the wi-fi coverage I’m getting now is like night and day. I am an experienced tech person, so that is my frame of reference in this review. First, I did my research before coming into the store to purchase.

Most reviews I read, didn’t mention the NETGEAR Mesh Wi-Fi 6 system. However; being a tech person, I have used a myriad of NETGEAR products over the years, so I knew before hand they deliver quality consumer network products.

I like the NETGEAR system for two primary reasons: 1) price point and 2) it doesn’t spy on me like some other products I’ll not mention. Outside of that, the wi-fi coverage and number of devices that can connect simultaneously is comparable to more expensive products.

In addition, I liked the fact that each satellite has a wired gigabit LAN backflow connection. The installation was a little tricky because my ISP service is different than most; nevertheless, I was able to access the router configuration interface in short order to make the necessary adjustments to connect to my ISP.

My last three home routers were all NETGEAR, so I am very familiar with the router interface. The satellites connected automatically, so for overall installation, it was very quick and easy. My biggest concern, was getting a good wi-fi signal to our bonus room above the garage.

Previously, I had a router configured as a access point to the main router via hardwire LAN connection. It worked, but I also had one other router within the house acting as another access point. Again, this worked, but not as well as one would think.

When you move from one place to another within the house, the wireless devices would need to connect to the different access points, but it was never that simple and was not consistent – even if using the same SSID for all access points.

One of the new NETGEAR Mesh satellites is located downstairs below the bonus room, but there is ample signal to provide coverage to the bonus room now. My wife and daughter have complained for years about our wi-fi in our home.

Since I have installed this new Mesh system, zero complaints! I am very pleased and wish I’d have made this switch long ago. I highly recommend this system if you’re looking for a cost effective solution to whole home wi-fi coverage.

IšverstiShow in original languageBoth the hardware and the software are dreadful. First the hardware: I spent hours configuring and reconfiguring and could not get the boxes to talk to each other. Wired, wireless, sitting alongside each other it didn’t work.

The lights on the boxes bear no connection to their real world status. The app sometimes says they are not connected even when they are and says they are connected when they are not even plugged in or powered on.

Eventually I returned the system and was told it was faulty and given a replacement. But the replacement is only slightly better. The router works most of the time, one of the satellites is always working but the other one has never connected even once.

It’s useless. The app is even worse. Firstly you have to download an app and create an account with Netgear and remember username and password. Then you HAVE to agree to a 30 day trial of some netgear crapware and their lack of privacy policy just to use your hardware (this is actually illegal I’m pretty sure) and of course it bugs you to buy the full version.

And the app doesn’t work well. Usually it says it can’t find your network even when you are connected to it and able to get online through it. That’s once you’ve managed to log on and got through the “buy our software” stuff.

I am literally going to throw this away and buy something else. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Bought this router at the beginning of 2022 after reviewing 25 other routers. I’ve been in the IT business for 30+ years and needed an ultra-reliable solution for my business network without having to migrate over to NOC level aspect.

The cost for this router was comparable to other high end routers. I also purchased the CM2000 Modem and discarded my ISP’s equipment due to their unreliable functionality. Unpacking and setup was very simple and all equipment appeared to be brand new with easy instructions to get started.

Changing the default login info was effortless and I was able to configure the entire process with no problems. Updating the firmware was also unproblematic and the phone app installation when well too.

Several months after the initial installation, I had some issues with the phone app. The app would not sort the list of devices connected and the reset function would not work on the app. Shortly thereafter, the phone app was updated and everything worked fine again.

A couple more months later, I ran into a few new issues with the router. First, I cannot change the QOS function. If I try to define my internet bandwidth – the router interface does not save the setting and reverts back to the “SpeedTest” setting.

Second, the “Security” says it is not enabled on the Home page of the router after logging in. Even though there is security setup on the routher and the phone app, it still says that it is “Not Enabled.

” Lasty, I am unable to turn OFF the “WPS” function and button on the router. The “LED Control Settings” just turn off the lights on the actual router device. This is not what I need. The WPS button can still be pushed and a device can be connected.

The “WPS Wizard” get to a point when it asks to input a “PIN Number” if chosen not to use the recommended “Push Button” option. If a 4-8 digit PIN is not entered, there is an error requesting that a PIN be entered.

And at this stage, nothing more can be done to disable the WPS feature on the router. So, minus the listed issues; it is a good router but I think I am going to go with the NOC network option and hopefully there will be no feature holes or discrepancies.

I bought this device to replace the one I was renting from xfinity to cut back on my monthly costs. It was very easy and quick to set up and activate with xfinity, and I am not educated at all when it comes to this technical stuff.

I did it all through the Netgear Nighthawk app. If you set up the network with the same name and password you used with your previous setup all of your devices will reconnect as though nothing had changed.

My only issue (which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) was after the initial setup, while watching streaming video, I received a message on my TV that I had lost internet connection. But it resolved itself on its own in less than 2 minutes.

It happened one more time a few hours later but hasn’t happened again since, and I have had it set up for about a week now. If I don’t receive the internet connection error again I will change my rating to 5 stars if I am able to.

I would recommend anyone who is renting equipment from their provider to buy their own equipment, specifically this device, since it is so easy to set up and is working well. You can set up a monthly plan and own it in less than a year while paying less than you currently are to rent it.

After you own it you start saving about $15/month. It’s worth the investment. I wish I had done it sooner.

I bought this to replace an equivalent Linksys WiFi router that I purchased about 12 years ago (where has the time gone?!?!). It turned out that the old unit wasn’t compatible with the new remote log in set up we have at work, so I order this unit and had my wife go pick it up.

In a word – WOW! This was a brand recommended by our IT people, so I found this on sale (thanks Best Buy). Once I got it, I assembled it (you need to put the antennae on), followed the setup instructions in the box and I was in business.

A word of caution here: Netgear supplies you with a temporary router password so you can log into the router to make adjustments and get connection info. You MUST replace this with your own new password.

I discovered this during my review of available WiFi routers. It’s a minor annoyance but that’s part of living in the “digital age” people and it ensures your home network security. Once set up, the connection is astonishingly fast.

Much faster than the previous one. I downloaded a Netgear Nighthawk app on my smartphone and went from room to room checking signal strength. Nothing less than 500 Mbps anywhere. What you get yourself will depend heavily on how fast your service is and the size of your home; you may need local repeaters to ensure top speeds.

Reconnected all of our devices and smart TV (now THERE’S an oxymoron), and we were back in business again. This far exceeded my expectations and I am well pleased. I highly recommend this unit for someone looking for a quality WiFi router.

Great modem, I have tried others and this one works well, The modem is 12v so good for the van or car. Settings are straight forward and it auto pickup the sim I was using. Sorry,, Update: I was using an Aldi SIM, works fine but will not work with a Telstra SIM.

!!! Wants to connect auto from the sim settings, I can get it to connect but each time it restarts it want telstra setting that wont connect. !.

When its working its great. The setup is easy and good management tools. The signal boost compared to a phone or ipad is great. However occasionally it needs to be rebooted as the data throughput drops, and my work VPN doesnt like it.

Not sure whether thats the unit or the Optus 4g connection.

Has all the options and features I need for a rural broadband network using the 700mhz B28 4G band. I haven’t needed external antenna yet, but should be able to connect one if needed. Supports secure remote management and automatic reboot.

Should work fine unattended.
