20 Best Otc Medicine For Nausea (2022 Updated)

I’ve used Dramamine for nausea in the past and have had great relief when using. But these ginger chews by Dramamine were nearly impossible to keep in my mouth. The flavor and taste were extremely strong, quite like a strong mentholatum burn to the inside of my mouth.

The chew itself was pleasantly soft and the chew consistency was much like a caramel chew. You get 20 individually foil wrapped chews in each bag and idk if it was just the weather but I had a hard time unwrapping the chew.

It was stuck to the wrapper for majority of the chews in the bag. I thought I would enjoy these vs a nausea pill as I suffer frequently from nausea and a big fan of ginger. The ginger, lemon and the honey flavors together overpowered to the point of not being able to keep it in my mouth.

I would not recommend to others and most likely won’t be using the rest of the chews or using again. I however do recommend the Dramamine brand as other products are great.

I am always looking for nausea relief products just because I do deal with apt of acid in my body as well as travel nausea. These ginger chews are fantastic. 1 chew and nausea is gone. I wish I had these for my pregnancy.

Normally ginger is a very hard thing to eat because it taste like house cleaner but these chews don’t have that terrible taste. The chew is very soft and very easy to chew. It actually taste very refreshing.

I also love that they are individually wrapped. I give these a 10 out of 10. I would recommend these if you suffer from mild to harsh nausea. I have pretty harsh nausea and it works for me very well.

Also you don’t have the bad after taste which is a plus.

Dramamine ginger chews are a great product! I tried these chews to help relieve occasional upset stomach and to relieve nausea when I get my migraines. These ginger chews worked on both of my issues.

They look like a piece of gum and they are easy to chew. They taste great and the ginger flavor isnt overpowering. I cant say if they relive heartburn or not as it claims it does because that’s not a issue for me.

Overall these are a great alternative to get some relief from the discomfort of nausea and upset stomach! I highly recommend to give this product a try!.

I have had nausea for three days and it hurts. I tried all of the home remedies and nothing works. Bought Emetrol and within 2 doses I was feeling better and after 3 it was gone. The packaging states adults are to take a dose 15 minutes after each.

The cherry taste is actually good. It does down easy and does not leave film in your mouth. I will use this ANY time I get an upset stomach!!.

Whenever we run out of Emetrol, it’s on our next grocery list. Our medicine cabinet always has at least one bottle of Emetrol. Whenever I am sick to my stomach with nausea or diarrhea, I take Emetrol and I feel better in 30 seconds or less every time.

There is nothing like Emetrol! I’ve tried Pepto Bismol and other off-brand nausea medicine, but nothing works as well as Emetrol. It also works well for motion sickness. My dad was travelling by car from Colorado to Maryland, and got nauseous.

He wasn’t able to travel until he got some Emetrol. Emetrol helped him to stay on time with his trip. Emetrol has a great Cherry taste, albeit a little sweet. However, when I’m nauseous, I’d rather have something that is sweet than something that tastes bad.

Emetrol also comes in a Lemon flavor, which I don’t like as much as the cherry flavor, but it is still okay. It can be a little expensive, but I still consider it well worth the price.

This is HORRIBLE for any child. My daughter had a terrioble cold and I got her this and she got even sicker then she was. Then once her sickness was over, she was still icky and I gave it to her again to see if maybe it worked then and she puked her guts out for a long time.

It has a DISGUSTING taste as well. this would make anyone sick, so you need to go to the dr to get something to stop nausea instead of this horrible stuff! please do not give this to your child, because you will only make them suffer longer with this.

just let them go to the dr or hospital and get something. sometimes it is best to be safe then make your child sicker with something that is easy to go to the store to get. i wouldnt recommend this.

I always have this product in my medicine cabinet. It is some thing I feel that works every time I get has a stomach ache. I even use it sometimes when I feel nauseous. It’s very affordable and I would totally recommend this for anybody who has a sensitive stomach.

My two year old daughter gets car sick, so I wanted to find something that will help with that. I only give it to her if I know we will be taking longer car rides ( over an hour or so). We were going camping which is a two hour ride and she didn’t complain of nausea not one time.

Took it because I was experiencing horrible motion sickness, And I was nauseous. I took one pill so I could go to work. I was completely out of it. my friend asked me if I was okay multiple times. Now these ARE horrific. They were yuckkkky. They were terrible, chalky, and gunky at the same time. The taste was obviously not supposed to be good duh it’s medication, but my gosh. I’d rather have sprayed hair spray in my mouth I think!!? Really though, I understand it was supposed to help you stop feeling nausea but all I did after I took it was puke.

I am on opiate pain meds for chronic back pain. Opiate pain meds can cause nausea if taken for a length of time. My doctor has given me prescription anti nausea meds which didnt help my nausea that much.

i was at a Walmart store and just happened to see Nauzene,. which said non drowsy on the box. I decided to try it because of that. I am totally suprised that it works so well.

I suffer from severe nausea from time to time due to endometriosis. I used this for the first time last night. I can say it absolutely works. Not in 4 minutes like it claims, more around 15. I would give it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the taste.

The taste is enough to make you gag, and potentially vomit. It’s definitely NOT cherry flavored. It tastes exactly like original flavor bubble gum. Like the old bazooka Joe. Only it’s an extremely strong taste.

Pretty much any other flavor would be better.

The flavor isn’t bad I just hate how chalky these are. They stick to your teeth and it’s just not a good feeling. They are more convenient to take than swallowing a pill if you don’t have anything to drink.

Not a fan of the liquid form so these are good in a pinch just not my fav. It works fine for nausea but if I have an upset stomach I’d prefer to take Imodium if works better for that.

I had the worst sickness ever. It wasn’t just morning sickness but it was all day and everyday of my pregnancy. This was the second nausea relief medication I used. It would take a while to kick in but it would at least help for 30 mins to an hour then I was nauseous again!.

Although this prevented nausea when I was flying, it made me extremely tired for almost a full day. It was actually scary. So tired that I felt drugged. I’ll stick with regular Dramamine from now on.

I suffer from nausea and motion sickness due to an inner ear condition. When I want to be knocked out and sleep through an entire flight or boat ride… this is the medication for that. I will take half a pill and it is easy to break these in half because they come pre-scored for cutting in half.

The original formula can definitely cause drowsiness, but there is a less drowsy formula available. I always take it before bed, sometimes once overnight to help decrease morning nausea. I live with a chronic illness, which causes severe GI dysfunction and requires me to have a feeding tube.

For the last year or so upon awakening, I have felt nauseated. I also have had a lot of in digestion. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much these tablets, dissolved under the tongue, helped both the nausea and the in digestion.

For me, this product only did half the job I thought it would do. I don’t like the fact that you have to keep taking a pill every hour like the instructions say. I prefer to take only one pill ever so often.

I got this because I get motion sickness easily, whenever I travel long places in a car, windy roads, on the airplane. As I got older, it’s gotten much worse for me. Dramamine makes me very sleepy and I wanted an alternative that provides me relief without making me want to go to sleep.

I also gave some to my Mom since she was taking medication for chemotherapy, maybe because chemo was very strong, this did not work as well for her. She still felt a little bit of relief but was still nauseated and needed to take a prescription medication to help her calm down nausea.

I like that these are similar to cough drops, it’s a little cooling and I would prefer more honey taste than lemon (personally). The ginger was not overwhelming and I did not think it was super spicy.

The upspring lemon ginger honey flavored drops are a delicious alternative to stomach medicine. I’ve never had a lot of stomach problems but sometimes when I do, they are pretty intense and I’m always taking medicine.

I’m glad I’ve found a good alternative that is more natural of a product. The package came with 29 flavored drops, which I think is a pretty significant amount. The drops have a very nice lemon and honey flavor and is very light on the ginger.

I’m not a big fan of chalky chews that leave a bitter aftertaste in order to get immediate stomach relief so I tried these and was pleasantly surprised that they had a decent taste and did not leave a horrible after taste.

Doesn’t everybody have a bottle of this in their household? I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have one. But, I’m sure if there was a rare occasion that I was caught without one and needed it, I would have been super miserable.

My second question is (this is strictly for humorous purposes), does anybody ever really use the dosing cup that comes with the bottle or do they all end up underneath people’s beds/sofas? Pepto-Bismol is great product that should always be in every medicine cabinet. You don’t want to be running to the store to purchase it with an upset stomach or diarrhea. When you need it, you need it now! This is the first time I’ve tried the Cherry flavor, I think it’s a nice option for those who just don’t like peppermint.

It will settle an upset stomach and heartburn very fast. I can’t speak for diarrhea, I never used it for that symptom. I sometimes have a problem with the thicker consistency, but that’s just me. The handy dose cup is also included, Be sure to use it to get the correct dose and best results.

My ma is 90 years old. She has had an upset stomach for at least the last 60 years, maybe longer but that’s as far back as her offspring can remember. Worse from stress, raw veggies, and fresh fruit.

Removing her gall bladder didn’t change anything, except the gall bladder attacks she started having when she was about 80. Somewhere on the internet, it said the problem with taking too much Pepto is Salicylic poisoning.

Looks to me similar to an Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) overdose, with the stomach ulcerating. The bottle says you can take up to 16 tabs per day, as required. Bet you that some people need more than 16 per day, chronically, and that’s the failure of Medical Science.

My Ma’s upset stomach is 95% better if she takes 2 per day. Maybe she can miss an occasional day, but she really shouldn’t. Wish we could find out what’s with her insides, but Medical Science has failed her, too.

Hoping that 2 tabs per day, forever, is safe. The Pepto website doesn’t provide the list of “inactive” ingredients. The bottle of tabs doesn’t show the inactive ingredients. That’s a neglect that I haven’t seen with a product in a very long time.

Even my Chapstick lists everything. I strongly suspect that Pepto uses a combination of Red Food Dyes that do nothing for the efficacyof the Pepto, but only make it pretty. Given that most people who use Pepto are using it periodically, I think most of the users would be delighted if the artificial colors were removed for reduced chemical exposure and a more pure product.

And in the 21st Century, I think it would be a Marketing windfall for Pepto if the product turned gray. They could keep the packaging “pink. ” I give Pepto 4 out of 5 stars, because it works well and appears to be low toxicity.

But instead of a cure, it’s a product you generally need to keep purchasing, maybe forever. Sounds like an investment opportunity? I also rated it “Not recommended” because it’s only a symptom suppressor, and what’s truly “recommended” is to find the cause of the problem (like diet?) and correcting the underlying cause.

In such a situation, I also had to rate it “Not a good value. ” Again, “value” would be finding the cause of the problem. And there’s no way for the consumer to rate the “Quality” of Pepto. Quality includes purity and consistency with the stated milligrams, and there’s no way for me to test that stuff.

Pepto Bismol has been used for its effective treatment of ailments, and generally stomach problems. Recently, a family member had food poisoning from eating sushi that wasn’t prepared properly. My family member wasn’t feeling good at all, and found no relief with antibiotics and other medications.

The discomfort, diarrhea, and cramping was chronic, lasting 3 days before he decided to visit the ER. He received medication but even then, experienced discomfort. Tastes like wintergreen LifeSavers. So much better than the original. I tries this one so I wouldn’t have to buy the larger bottle of the original. The measuring cup is awful & should be replaced. Or include teaspoon measurements on the directions.

I’ve been taking these drops more often at night after dinner has settled and they have really been helping. I’ve been getting pretty gassy and bloated feeling almost every night and it’s so uncomfortable.

I finally tried these and they have been helping me a lot. They work pretty quickly and the taste is pretty soothing. Sometimes I will take only one and other nights I might take 2 or 3 depending on how I’m feeling and how long my symptoms are lasting for.

My 17 year old sister gets motion sickness pretty easily on car drives and I gave her a handful to try when driving and they have helped her a lot. I like that they are like a cough drop so they are are easy to grab and go, and you just suck on them.

I’m glad there is something like this that is made naturally so I don’t feel like it is a problem taking them so often.

My 6th week of pregnancy I’ve been very sick as well as my 7th so I decided I need something stronger than ginger tea which I dispose and bananas so I got this stuff and i don’t know what I’d do with out it I’d be in misery.

It BARELY makes me drowsy it’s only really if I’m laying in bed then I’ll get a little sleepy but it’s fightable. I feel little to no nausea when before I was constantly on the verge of throwing up. Going on an 8 hour road trip there and back this weekend so I’m hoping I’ll make and the only way I could is Dramamine so I hope it works so far it’s been a blessing.

This works for us sometimes and sometimes not. However, my biggest complaint is the red dye in an anti-nausea medication. Nausea relief medicine should be clear. If it does not work, then the red dye makes everything that much worse.

Please offer a clear nausea relief medicine.

I contracted a stomach bug and was having stomach pains, nausea, and I was throwing up. I was up all night in pain, come morning I had someone pick this up for me. I was able to keep it down, and after that no more pains and no more throwing up or nausea.

Twenty years ago, I had a sub arrachnoid hemorrhage and contracted bacterial meningitis from the hospital. A residual problem is periodic dizziness. I take Meclizine to combat this problem. Hence, I order large amounts of Meclizine which is a tremendous assistance in combating my dizziness.

I suffer with inner ear problems and motion sickness. There are days when I am so dizzy I can’t get out of bed. Having Gericare Meclizine is a way to manage these problems.

Our cat has a prescription of Meclzine from the Vet. They were charging $2.00 per pill. Gericare Meclizine is the same stuff. Works great, Less than $5.00 for 100 pills!!!
