Been using this Dexter model for over 30 years and it’s not only I who rate this cleaver as no. 1, almost all the Chinese chefs I know would agree. Every time I give one as a gift to another chef, invariably they buy 3 or 4 more for their staff.

The perfect weight and balance makes it the ideal tool, which, as a natural extension of your hand will give you the ideal edge to make your prep work easier and more enjoyable. I wish there was a way I could invest! I’m a believer! Works best on wooden board.

I have 15 or more Chinese cleavers ranging from $10 to $300 Shun and this is the best I have. I t balances well and the steel holds its edge. Also I do a lot of chicken stock and cut the bones without a problem.

Given time, when you get used to a cleaver it will take over from your cooks knifes.

Don’t believe the good reviews because every single one is fake just like their knives. They are not real Damascus. They have been lazer etched to look like Damascus. Also they don’t have a full tang in most of their knives and the one that does is just glued on.

They are also made in China and not Japanese or even Japanese steel. Stay away from anything Yatoshi knives makes. Also, if you do buy anything from them and want a refund they will try and drag it out until the 60 days has passed and deny your refund.

This place is practicing some deceptive business.

This little set of knives has been great. They are sharp and fit well in your hand. They have a very nice look to them. It is easy to mistake them for a much more expensive knive set. They come with a beautiful block to store them.

These knives are amazing quality! I was worried because of a review showing rust spots but to avoid this – Make sure to only hand wash, dry with a micro fiber towel and rub mineral oil on them every 3-5 uses and these will last forever!.

As a mom that does 97% of the cooking around here I was pumped to discover our son (age 10) also shares the love of creating in the kitchen. This was a Christmas gift and his eyes lit up. It didn’t take long to have him chopping all the veggies and helping create delicious meals together.

Such s great product for children when ready to move being Montessori choppers. We made the mistake of buying a nylon knife set, but they are too weak to cut anything really, and that makes them slip easily.

So dangerous! This knife is well sizes for a child, the tall blade and short body make it stable and sturdy, and the finger guard and handle circles keep fingers where they belong. It’s a brilliant design.

I love oxo products. This knife was great and lasted me about 6 months before noticeably getting dull. I don’t buy expensive knives anymore because I don’t like to deal with the sharpening and extra care they need.

I’d rather buy more affordable knives more often. I think this is better than the grippy chef’s knife that they sell at Costco Business. Now it’s just my luck that they are out of stock. My hands are smaller so the grip is actually perfect for me.

I like the rubbery grippiness of the handle too. It doesn’t have any hollows unfortunately, so when you slice some vegetables or meats the vegetables or meat slices do tend to stick/suction to the knife.

I have an older model with a huge handle but what was sent to me was the newer replacement with a small handle. Theyre not the same quality. I read another review that came to the same conclusion. I found a good used model on EBay last year.

I’ve been wanting an Opinel forever just never got around to it. This knife is amazingly sharp with the quality carbon blade and i do admire the simplicity of the lightweight wooden handle. It’s as simple as they get.

Unfortunately, that simplified design causes the wood to swell and contract with fluctuations in temperature, more to the point dewpoint and humidity. This can make opening and closing the knife a PIA.

Also, as these French blades, even though cheaply priced are sorely sought after, it would have been awesome to see an option for a case or some sheath holder to protect the knife and wooden handle when not in use.

Overall I expected more from the Company who has been bumping out blades for over 100 years. Oh the other knife was so insignificantly tiny i couldn’t process it as a real blade. IT reminded me of one of those little derringer screwdrivers that comes with the hardware set on a piece of new furniture.

Brilliant pocket knife. Simple, solid mechanism, nice wood handle that’s well shaped and well finished. Dropped a star because the edge was a bit rolled. Didn’t take long to get perfect with emery paper, now it has a really sharp edge that lasts well.

I think the edge is slightly convex rather than 100% flat and better for it. I’ve been making shims tricky bits of shuttering to repair a roof. Therese were only from pine wood but very seasoned and it slices through without much effort.

Can’t open one-handed, but very easy to close and lock one handed – handy working at height and holding on with other hand.

When I use camping equipment, I really use camping equipment. I have done this with the Opinel Carbone No. 7, and despite its delicate look and reviews from others here, it has managed to survive with only a few visible wounds.

When I first got the knife, it was sharpened to a hair-splitting incisiveness. Whittling? Cheese? Fabric? Paper? Bag of moose meat? Ropes to tow gliders? Awkward silences? It cut them with ease and joy.

With little care other than occasional “oiling” from greasy food, it retained that youthful gleam. That is, until I used it to open a tuna can. It opened the can really well — but the edge bent. The knife was actually still quite sharp, just kind of 1mm was sideways.

After about a year in this functional yet downgraded condition, I found someone to sharpen the wee beastie and give it the TLC it so-very-much desired and needed. It looks a little chippy now, but it is still sharper than any of my other knives (which isn’t that hard to be).

This past summer, the knife and I went on about a dozen backcountry paddling trips. It’s my primary knife — it thrived in wet conditions being driven into wood, sand and food. It lost the ring for its locking mechanism (hence the loss of one star), but it still seems to stay closed or open, whichever I prefer at that moment.

All in all, this is my most solid knife that still hasn’t been confiscated at an airport. It was a steal at the price for which I purchased it (which I can’t state because of the terms and conditions of reviewing here, but it was regular price circa 2017).

Between the five rowers in my family we have them all, the pilot, co-pilot, neko and others. I like the utility and ergonomics and price of this knife and continue to buy them but they could be improved for my use.

First, I have no need for the glass breaker hilt on the river. I’ve never had to steal a car at the boat ramp. It only catches soft skin in the middle of a big move. Second and most importantly, I do not at all like the ambidextrous handle, that makes is impossible to know which side is the sharp one without physically looking at the blade.

I get the point of making it lock into the sheath either way so that everyone can orient it to their needs and likes, however, the handle could be made with some sort of tactile recognition as to the orientation of the sharp side of the blade.

In a cold wet environment I can easily imagine trying to make a critical cut with the dull side, or placing a frozen thumb down on the line cutter and not even being able to feel my mistake until it’s too late.

May I suggest a set of finger grooves on the sharp side, and a smooth feel on the dull one?.

After carrying this knife on multiple extended trips in the BWCA, I’ve eventually gotten rid of it. It’s not bad, it’s just too specialized for water use and rope cutting to be a useful camp blade, and the steel is very soft.

If you’re not outright sailing, I don’t think you’ll find it useful. Pros: – Knife feels extremely solid, and is easy to grip despite not having a full rounded handle – Strong and sturdy construction – Rope cutter is very effective and a nice touch Cons: – Soft steel is an absolute pain to keep sharp – Very short straight blade, almost impossible to whittle/slice food/etc – Lack of a tip makes it frustrating to open some packaging or do delicate, precise cuts – Very thick blade makes it hard to sharpen to a fine edge.

I am just starting to learn white water kayaking. Do doubt I will go for an unexpected swim at some point. This is the go-to emergency tool just in case I can’t make a quick wet-exit. Securely attaches to life vest.

Securely held in the sheath. Good grip. Specifically designed for emergencies. If you white water kayak you should probably carry one of these and practice using it.

I’ve snagged a few of these Crocodile Dundee-sized knives over the years when I’ve spotted them on sale. Look, I’m not likely to be found skinning an elk with one up by the treeline of Mt. Manlyman, having navigated there using its little semi-craptastic compass or anything.

But I do keep one handy on the boat with a wrist lanyard attached to it through the conveniently-provided hole in its handle for cutting tangled fishing or other lines from the prop or for other sailboat-rigging needs.

And if you do any metal detecting with one of those far-better-than-just-good-enough Harbor Freight 9-Function Metal Detectors frequently on sale for about $50, one of these honking big scimitars is just the ticket for coming to grips with dense or rooty soils.

With a little practice it also makes for a good sturdy “coin shooter”. It’s all in the wrist: a curvy 3/4 cut, plop over the plug, find coin or other object, flip back plug, tamp down–turf’s back to like you were never even there.

And why not get one of their 2-sided sharpening stones too? After all, nothing says, “Treat my daughter with utmost respect” like the sight of you quietly oiling and sharpening a foot long knife at the kitchen table.

So far I have not tested the knife yet. I do a bit of camping, kayaking, hunting, and am always looking to test out this knife to see if it is worth the money. It is about 10 dollars and that is really cheap.

So far, from getting it out of the package I noticed the blade has a decent feel to it. The handle is obviously hollow to store a few handy items for basic survival if you have to make it off of primitive means for a little bit.

They also have a few of those tools as well. The compass is not perfect but it is pretty handy to have if you need to get a basic bearing on where you are or need to be heading. The sheath leaves a lot to be desired but I can not fault it as the whole package is around 10 dollars.

My recommendation is always to have a kit setup in case of an emergency and a knife is one of those tools. With this knife so far, this may not be a bad investment to put in an emergency bag for hunting and fishing if you are not looking to spend a whole bunch of money.

It may not be the top of the line but it does appear that it can get you through an emergency. If I can edit this in the future and update it with more up to date information after I have tested it more then I will.

Final note, I wish the companies that distribute the products would give a little more time for us to get a little more time to use the product so we can give a more informative review.

I bought this as a gift for my nephew. He is an outdoorsman, to say the least. The size of this knife was surprising when it arrived. It was bigger than I thought, which isn’t a bad thing. The look of it is badass! It is light for the size.

I bought it because it looked like he would be able to utilize it in many ways while being outdoors. I can’t say much about how well it works since I didn’t use it but I have not heard any complaints from my nephew.

The price of this knife was crazy low for what you get. Im planning on buying a few more!.

Used this knife for the first time, and I already like it. It chops and dices so fast. I like this knife better than any food chopper I’ve ever used, and I don’t have all those parts of the food chopper to take apart and clean.

It sold for only $9. 97 which I feel is a good price for it. Not sure how long the wood handle will hold up after being washed, but I still feel it was well worth the money, and the knife does a great job.

This is by far my favorite knife. The size of the handle makes it easy to grip in order to get an even chop. The stand is my favorite feature, it looks great on the cabinet and the convenience is excellent.

I picked this knife up after getting tired of burning through knives during processing large game animals. I am also getting a bit older and understand that quality and cost go hand in hand. Opening day I took a nice mule deer , it was 85 degree day in Colorado and the knife worked perfectly.

Light weight in the pack , nimble in the hands , and extremely sharp. This is very important to me as I process in the field and don’t want to hang out any longer than needed. So , 1 mule deer processed and skinned quickly ! Next up Wapiti ! Stay tuned ! Best knife I have ever owned.

USMC VET 0311 Infantry.

Picked this up a couple of weeks ago, I have the black one as moosejaw did not have the orange at that time. It is by far the lightest knife I have handled to date. Super sharp right out of the box, weighs next to nothing, is surprisingly comfortable and very controllable.

Have yet to see how it holds an edge but seems as this will be my new go to hunting knife. Benchmade hit this one out of the park.

This knife was awesome and of the quality I expect when I pay the Benchmade tax. Came out of the box WAY sharper than most knives, is so light you sometimes forget it’s in your pocket, which is what I was looking for in a edc knife.

Steel is S90v, which speaks to the price point, but I feel the product is worth it.

For years I have used a traditional box cutter whose blade can only be changed by removing a screw and taking the knife apart. After I briefly mislaid it, I ordered this one. I especially like the compact size and the ease with which the blade can be changed.

For the price point this utility knife is excellent value for the money. I use it to cut heavy leather. The blades are easy in and out. I stropped the blades with green compound and the cutting was excellent.

Ring able to fold and put it in my pocket or clip on my belt is a real time saver and convenient and safe.

Lost my old knife last week and had to get a new one. I am thoroughly impressed by this knife. It”s got just enough weight and there is a little resistance opening and closing the knife which gives a solid feel.

The color is sharp too with dark blue and a streak of black. Great grip. I use mine at my work in recieving boxes all day long have to change my blade about every other day.

I have a Collection that is always room for 1 more. I did have some trouble getting the fire starter out but once I got it out I was able to sand down the edges so that it still locks into place but I don’t need a flat tip screwdriver to get it out.

Other than that it’s fine.

Great knife at a great price ideal for any situation. Ferro rod stays in case nice and secure do not have to worry about losing it. If you know how to sharpen a knife this holds a great edge. It went right into my camping equipment.

excellent knife. Heavy duty, good quality, durable. I was able to use it and the built in ferro stick to start a camp fire the other night!. Hard to start a fire lol, but the knife and rod make sparks just fine!.

My friend used this knife when she was over for lunch one day and fell in love with it. I sent her one for her birthday. It’s excellent. Perfect to cut just about anything if you keep the blade sharp.

The magic is in the weight of the handle. Perfect for dicing vegetables when I make soup but will also cut a tomato perfectly. I love this brand, there is no handle to break or fall off. I’ve been using them since Anthony Bourdain said that was all he ever used.

I find this specific global chopper knife to be one of a kind. Its shape and size gives it a nice balance with a very pleasant grip. I highly recommend it. Cooking with such knife makes a world of difference.

Although good reviews, my experience was not so good, The knife was not symmetrical grinded, resulting in a bend-shaped blade. Made in the USA, but this one slipped the quality check. The handle is molded arond the tang, but I think a tang with two grips is more robust.

The sheath is simple, but I knew that, and I am more interested in a good blade than a better sheath. Very good service of Lamnia: I explained the grinding problem to customer support, with photo’s. Lamnia send a courier, with pre printed labels and refunded the money quickly.

The blade is geometrically quite curved and not symmetrically ground, but this does not affect functionality. The steel for the blade is ideal for this type of knife/machete, the handle is also quite ergonomic, but for users with larger hands, which is ok.

The holster is a piece of crap to say the least and will need to be replaced very soon with say a leather or even better kydex holster. All in all, very good value for money for this tool. As always, Lamnia has excellent service and I recommend it to potential customers.

It’s a good beater camp knife. Personally, I really don’t prefer kukris, but I just wanted to add to my collection. It has a decisive forward balance, which means it behaves like a hatchet in your hands; that’s what it was designed for.

It’s both a camp/farm tool and a fighting knife as we all know, but it just doesn’t fit with my style. I prefer lighter blades, but that doesn’t mean this kukri won’t work. After all, it is a legendary blade.

I’ll just need to train in the Gurkha style. The Ontario Kukri itself is well-built. The handle seems blocky yet it provides a good organic, rubbery grip for all the chopping that you’ll be doing with it.

I’d probably add some grip tape to the handle, but that’s just for me; I need a slightly thicker grip to swing it better without stressing my wrist. It’s sharp out of the box, mine had slight burrs towards the tip, but it’s not an issue at all, easy to sharpen.

The sheath is okay, seems sturdy enough to last, it’s nylon so the draw is quiet except when you flip the snap button; then again I’m not a ninja so I really won’t need all that stealth. Overall an excellent blade!.

Sometimes you just need a smaller sized knife when performing detailed cutting. This knife fulfills that need, easy to handle and control. Extremely sharp and does not feel bulky in the hand. Lightweight and has an overall appealing appearance.

The sheath that is provided by the factory with this knife is very disappointing. It is no where near the quality that is indicative of the quality of the knife.

It’s a good value. If you want a beater, this is it. Good looking from a distance. It’s only 420 stainless, but it’s sharp. It won’t hold an edge that long, but is easy to sharpen. It’s acceptable, and has no stray tool marks like some cheap blades.

Look to the Nordic countries to find good workmanship always. The handle is comfy. The only thing I do not like is the silver plastic. Even if it works well, it sure looks cheap. but it what can you expect for 25 bucks in a full size knife ? Excellent sheath no matter what it costs.

Black leather with a liner. I have paid more than the entire cost of this knife for just a decent sheath. Makes it really worth it.

This was the first “necker” I had ever purchased. I now also have a Tops ALRT XL. Two totally different types of neck knives, but back to the CRKT Folts Minimalist. This knife came hair shaving sharp in a nice littke kydex sheath.

It looks as if the sheath was made for the tanto style Minimalist but it fits the bowie style I have perfectly. I have not noticed any rub marks on the knife and it is held securely; absolutely no fear of it coming out unintentionally.

The clasp used to connect the the string necklace isn’t the best quality, but I am confident that it will work just fine. The knife is so lightweight that I forget I am wearing it. It has a thin profile and remains hidden under my shirt; it doesn’t protrude out at all.

The ergonomics of the handle are well thought out and even though there is only enough room for 3 fingers, it feels good in my hand, remaining comfortable even after an hour of usage. The addition of the braided cord at the bottom of the handle is a nice touch that gives you a little more to hold on to.

The blade came razor sharp as I stated above and comes to an almost needle point. It carries itself like a larger blade and has been up to all the small tasks I have out it through: opening boxes/mail; carving and whittling a Native American style bow and arrows for my son, random cutting of objects throughout the day and it is very comfortable to hold for long periods.

The blade holds its edge decently and takes a keen edge with little effort. It is a great looking knife as well. These knives must be very popular because I saw them for sale (bowie model) at my local Lowes last week for almost the same price I paid at Home Essentials Direct.

Don’t get me wrong, the price on Home Essentials Direct was the lowest I have seen and I checked numerous websites. Overall, this is an extremely lightweight and durable neck knife that can be worn comfortably and concealed all day long.

The blade, while short, is extremely sharp and well suited for a number of daily tasks that any edc knife would need to perform, but I feel this knife would hold its own in a survival situation if necessary.

It’s a good looking knife and it comes with a good kydex sheath that retains the blade well. It also comes with a clip that screws onto the sheath for belt or outsude the pocket carry and can be mounted for horizontal or vertical carry.

All in all, this is a good knife for edc and I would highly reccomend it. I am interested in the Wharncliffe style blade and maybe the CRKT S. P. E. W.

Hopefully you aren’t as stupid as I am and you don’t slice your thumb open five minutes after taking it out of the box. Not used to rounded blade, I had my thumb in the wrong spot when I drew the blade from the sheath and gave myself a nasty cut.

Good thing: the blade is very sharp, so the wound should close quickly with the neat cut. I am used to thinking in terms of straight blades. BTW If slicing my thumb was not proof enough a sharpness test slicing the edge of printer paper shows this blade to be scary sharp.

It’s the sharpest knife I’ve ever tested. Updated to show my carry technique. I wanted to wear on my belt without open displaying, so I carry it upside side down and the handle slips into the pocket of my jeans.

Black belt and black holster draws no attention and I can remove it with one hand. If I carry in my pocked to not display I need two hands two retrieve it.

Overall I like it. But I dont love it. I guess for the price its more like a 4. 5 than a 4. It came today rather dull, I was fairly disappointed as I had seen so many reviews with “razor sharp” edges.

I am hoping to take a strop to it tonight and see if I can refine an edge to it. The edge is there but it takes a bit more force than it should on a paper slice and paracord test. The wrist lanyard is kind of useless so I already took that off its done with a very minimal strand count threading and it is more along the lines of the material used in those friendship bracelet/toe rings you saw when you were a kid in the 90s.

Grip: Exceptionally well designed 5/5 in this area. I have medium to large sized hands and it indexes perfectly where I need it to be. The bottom of the tang sits right between my ring finger and pinkey and its perfect.

I am a huge fan of micarta on knives. I think all of mine have it so that was a huge plus for such a low cost knife and the design is awesome as well with the green and black lines. Steel: Its a soft cheap steel.

I am not a steel snob and for 13 bucks no one needs to be. There are pros and cons to different types of steel and well, I dont plan on batoning wood with this thing or doing harsh things to the edge so once I refine the edge a bit I am sure I will be happy with it.

The benefit to softer cheaper steels is just that, super easy to sharpen and strop and usually if the edge is there that is all it takes is a good strop block or belt. Sheath: I give it a 4 out of 5 but for the price its a perfectly acceptable piece.

Its molded nylon/plastic and the sheath is molded for the tanto, dont be alarmed the blade tip means nothing in a hard sheath its all about how the lower end of the knife is held for retention so that is fine.

Comes with a belt loop that looks cheap and small so Im not sure if Ill even bother with it but it may be a decent backup. Its my first neck knife, so I am excited and overall I think it was a great purchase and I would not hesitate to recommend Its light, feels great in the hand and has an attractive fit and finish.

But you may need to hone that blade when you get it and just chop off the useless lanyard thing. EDIT*** I took it to my strop block and the edge is nice and sharp.

I admit that I have been collecting minimalist sized knifes for fishing, mushrooming and food preparation while camping. They may a lil bit smaller but there’s a mini knife for every adventure and that I’ve proven time after time.

God Awful sharp. For some one who knows knife skills. Definitely not for the want to be but for an already is individual. You know someone on second or third enlistment. Second or third deployment or a southern gal, former military.

Just received my CRKT neck knife. Very light and compact. Secure fit in the sheath. Razor sharp and can shave with it. The handle is a bit skinny, however fits the tree finger of hand securely with your thumb on the gimping.

Nice little knife and i thoroughly recommend it for your 1st EDC or neck knife.

Mediocre but do the trick. PROS: they came well packaged and included all the promised letters and numbers in bright colors. Inexpensive. CONS: these are actually made of soft foam that seems extra tempting for small kids to put in their mouths.

maybe it’s just my kids but I suspect not. Will not stand up to this kind of abuse, they can be easily damaged. The magnets are also flexible and not very strong and don’t stick well if the foam gets deformed at all.

All in all they were cheap and work, but may not last long and probably aren’t the best option out there.

The knife is the size and shape I expected but pulling it out of the package and cutting with it was another story. The blade came extremely dull which I’ve never had before with a brand new knife. Some of my knives at home that I’ve used for months have more sharpness.

I decided to use my sharpener and that seemed to help. Plan on using/buying a knife sharpener if you get this.

These knives are so amazing. They will cut through steak so easy. The serrated blades never need sharping and are corrosion resistant. The serrated blades will help to imitate cuts and get through tougher meats.

The handles are designed for a confortableu grip.

This knife works well in a beef packing house. It takes an edge really well and is very sharp. The knife is a little heavy but comfortable to me. I prefer a wood handled knife with a thick high carbon steel blade and this one works perfectly for me.

I’ll likely buy more when the time comes. It seems to be more rust resistant than a Dexter-Russell high carbon steel knife with wood handle. I still have yet to try a J. Russell Green River Works but most likely is similar to the regular Dexter wood handled knife.

This knife is hollow ground which might be the factor that helps with it taking an edge well.

It’s a simple fact. I have many carbon steel knives and if you do not properly care for them, they all will rust. That being said, I love them all. I know how to take care of them and they take care of business for me.

1095 High Carbon steel sharpens easily, holds an edge very well and will last a lifetime if properly cared for. After use, simply wash the knife, dry it well, and maybe put a little vegetable oil or food grade mineral oil on the steel.

If that is too much of a hassle for you, then stick to stainless steel knives. But don’t bash carbon steel knives just because you don’t or won’t properly care for them.

I customize these blades for customers all the time. shins out one average sized buck deer or a medium sized feral hog before the edge needs to be touched up. Inexpensive and durable. what’s not to like? Oh well, the yuppy crowd are not impressed with any blade cheaper than $300.

They’re more into making fashion statements. not making meat! :).

I am a whitewater kayak instructor and recently added this knife to my rescue vest. It’s very easy to open and a bit tougher to close. Thing is, when the knife is needed it’s easy to get at and deploy.

And although it is harder to close and needs both hands to do so, in theory by the time I need to put it away it has done it’s job. It’s a great knife and I like the shape and the serrated edge which expands its usefulness in an emergency situation.

it’s great! sharp, compact, comfy in the hand, well-made. def recommended. I rinse it as soon as I can after salt-water exposure. *hey NRS: change your packaging. the zip ties that held it to the cardboard cut into the soft-grip handle and left a small cut.

nothing worth returning it for, but totally unnecessary to have happen!*.

I love the size, perfect usable pocket knife, both blade length and handle size. I love the balance between pocket ability and usability. The blade steel is fantastic for everyday use and it came razor sharp, very happy.

I LOVE the Micarta handles. I have a Hell Gap with olive Micarta and the matching of the two makes me so happy (please offer the Hell’s Canyon in an olive Micarta handle!). My only knock on this is that the flipper action is BRUTALLY tough to start.

Once it’s off the bottom lock it’s great. The body liner lock is fantastic and the smooth movement is great, but overcoming the closed lock with the flipper is tragic. Almost five stars for me. This knife is great, but for the price I’d want it to be perfect.

So, I have owned a few knives here and there over the years. Some of the less expensive, but better known names. Then a friend turned me onto TJB by showing off his Carter. I was intrigued so, I obviously went to the site and started browsing.

My design lust landed me on the Duval page and I immediately looked at the price and left the page. I’d peaked back at it every few months when a knife was mentioned and I came close to adding it to my cart a couple times.

Then a “big” birthday of mine recently came and went. I felt a little cheated because no one bought me anything special. Therefore I navigated back to TJB and ordered myself a Titanium and Damasteel Duval.

I could not be anymore pleased with this work of art as a “Not a knife guy”. There’s not a flaw on it. no gaps, no looseness, no tool marks. The blade sits symmetrically in the frame when closed (I am OCD about symmetry).

I am a little hesitant to EDC it because of the cost, but I am going to anyhow. I know a clip would ruin the aesthetic but I kind of wish it had one. That’s the most minuscule con I could muster. I think this will put me on the path of knifeguyism as I have my eye on a few more models.

Love the knife, though it did hurt a little to spend almost $300 on it. Only real feedback I have is that you direct people to your website for information on caring for the knife, however there is no real information there.

It just kinda says ‘keep it sharp, keep it clean, keep it lubricated’. yea i know. And I could (have) spent hours on forums reading everybody and their brother’s opinion about how to sharpen cv35 steel, but I still dont feel any closer to understanding what stone I need.

I don’t even know the bevel angle of the Duval knife as it is not listed on your site, but is apparently critical info when sharpening a knife. There also isn’t and information on the service page specific to the Duval, so maybe that needs to be updated.

I think if you put up some James Brand video tutorials on maintenance, sharpening (techniques, products, etc) that’d be a huge help. Love the knife, just want to make sure it lasts. Cheers.
