Works as represented in terms of getting alot of channels and good clear tv reception. And shipping was right on time. The problem was you have to drill a big 1″ hole through your wall to connect the antenna system.

You cannot attach the coax the antenna comes with to your cable network already in place. I went back and read the description but no where was it mentioned that you could not connect the factory coax to your existing cable network.

To me, it was deceptive to not specifically state a material and important limitation such as mounting the antenna somewhere as long as it’s less than 40 feet from the tv. Given a 24 foot antenna pole you have less than 16 feet to run to your tv.

The reason is that the antenna rotator and signal amplifier are both powered through the factory antenna cable. So you can’t use the antenna or the antenna rotator unless you connect the factory cable directly to your tv.

That means drilling a big hole through your wall to connect to the tv. Also, the second so-callled antenna cable coming out of the rotator control box is only maybe 6 feet long. So yes, you can have another tv on that antenna but it would have to be closer than 6 feet from the tv already connected.

If I had known this up-front I would never have bought the antenna. So, if youdon’t mind drilling a big hole through your wall and are well withing 40 feet of the antenna then no problem. But if you expect to just connect the factory cable to your existing cable system then you have a pretty big problem.

For these reasons I would not buy another antenna such as this one. I give iit 2 stars because it did work good and delivered on-time. But the installation was totally unexpected.

Easy to assemble!! Works great I went from having 3 channels to 25channels! Would recommend highly! We live in a rural area have trees around us all over and the stations come in crisp and clear! I only have it mounted about 20ft in the air.

It would be easy to use if the manufacturer would have taken some more time and effort to build into the unit a system where it would at least tell you were facing north, south or where ever better yet have degrees displayed somewhere.

The meter on my tv does not stay up for the full 28 seconds it takes to do a full revolution. From where I am to Montreal is flat an I still can not get all the stations that I used to get with a big antenna.

(Montreal is about 60 miles as the crow flies).

its easily the best antenna available @ 40 bucks. Those plastic/aluminum chinese monstrosities are worthless. FCC Licensed Broadcast Engineer for 30 years so i might actually know something. Unboxing it is a breeze.

you then twist and snap and its assembled. THE 75 OHM MATCHING TRANSFORMER MUST BE USED. The one i received was bad out of the box, one of the wires internally wasn’t connected, i bought a new one and it worked perfect.

Im almost willing to bet the negative reviews either did not use the matching transformer or theirs was bad. I mounted the antenna on its included mast exactly 11 feet off the ground on my garage eave.

I ran brand new coax cable, approx 70 feet to it. I get 66 tv channels. SIXTY SIX! On my previous Chinese Junk 70 dollar Walmart Brand ONN antenna i received 14 channels. and it is twice the size of this little thing.

Was using indoor amplified antenna but wanted to see if outdoor would be better. Mounted on old DISH satellite mount. The supplied mount was exactly the same as the old DISH mount. Used the old cable that runs about 40 feet to the plug inside the house.

Used a smart phone compass app to line it up. I am 36 miles from the transmitters. I get ABC, CBS, NBC, and PBS. About 20 station in total. Switched from DISH satellite about 20 years ago to antenna.

The pic quality from antenna is better than from cable. With the digital signal, you either have it or not. It is not like the old analog that got snowy and faded in and out. Sometimes heavy rain will disrupt the digital signal.

All stations are not the same. I think some may have more powerful transmitters. My advice. If you live 40 miles or less from a transmitter, try the cheapest indoor antenna first. You may be surprised in what you can pick up.

Get a long run of cable and try many different positions in your house. Concentrate on the side of your house that faces the antenna you are searching for. If you have aluminum siding, it will probably reduce the signal.

If you get lucky, you may get an indoor antenna to work. If not this antenna may be the next step up that may work. IF you are successful, you have the potiential of saving many thousands of dollars over the years.

I live close to a city where one might think that indoor antennas would work adequately. But not for me and I tried several including the classic rabbit ears. The antenna towers are not located in one place and are West, North and East.

I was worried that a highly directional outdoor antenna might not work well but this smaller antenna works great in my location. I mounted it on my deck for easy access. I pointed it north and it picks up east and west with 100% signal quality.

I reused the house cable and used splitters to drive the cable for each device (TV and HDHomeRun DVR). I like this setup much better than satellite (no cable TV access at this location) and its free.

No Cons, all pros. Highly directional. I pointed one antenna west & the other north. (I live aprox. 90 miles between two large towns. ) I used to receive a few of their channels but, since they know that ALL the cable companies plus Dish TV & Directv are including them in the “basic” package, they’ve cut back on their power to save money.

So, my omni- directional antenna couldn’t do the job anymore. With the ClearStream antennas back to back in my attic, I’m getting 73 channels. I’m not using an amplifier & my cable length from antennas to my tv is 85 ft.

If you do the antenna coupling, make sure you use a 2 input, 1 output coupler, not a splitter & make the cable length from the antennas’ to the coupler the same length. That way the signals combine & one antenna doesn’t weaken the others signal.

Distance claims are dependent entirely upon topography and line of sight! Easy to install, and works very well for stations that are within range, and topographic limitations. If you have hills, trees, mountains and valleys, no “distance” will help you.

Be mindful of this, and don’t expect miracles. If you live in corn country and can see 100 miles in every direction (you will make out well IF you have any stations within 60 miles of you in a given direction).

A hand-full at 30 plus miles in more than a 20 degree difference. you will need more antennas and a combiner. Within 20 miles than this is overkill in my opinion. Not TOO BIG, and works well within reason.

Be reasonable, and you will be fine. It is not magic.

The product headline is correct, the product description is wrong. This antenna is missing the long dipole needed to receive VHF. Furthermore, the customer pictures submitted do not match the item being sold.

If you only need UHF, this product is great. For my TV market, half of the major networks are in the VHF band. If you need both bands, you will need this version: Antennas Direct ClearStream 4V.

Just finished installing my new Pro Channel Master Antenna. It replaced an old 8 bay Winegard antenna and Permacolor Pre-Amp. I used the Channel Master F-Connectors on the new cables I made for installation.

They work very well they are the compression type for RG-6 Quad Shield coax. I only used one of the zip ties supplied with the Amplify Adjustable Gain Preamplifier, in the hole that is toward the antenna I drilled a hole and attached it that way.

I set the pre-amp on the higher setting (red light showing) before it was raised because I am a little over 40 miles out from the transmitters I like to receive. With the LTE filter that comes built into the pre-amp I have NO more pixelization and all the stations, even the weakest one comes in wonderfully! The antenna itself is very well made, painted or powder coated where needed, there are plugs on all the elements including the main frame.

A very sturdy and Made In The USA product and works as well as it looks.

This was a purchase that I could have been frustrated with and regretting but turned out to be worth every penny!When I was ready to install this antenna, it did not test correctly. The led on the controller would show red on power on, and then quickly switch and remain yellow.

I sent an emailand tested. Within 12 hours I had a reply back. with an apology for the late reply :The email contained instructions and pictures verifying that I was connecting it correctly without any splitters.

I replied back that the instructions were very clear and simple to follow I had connected everything correctly and according to the instructions. I received another email from support with a set of simple instructions to do 2 simple tests and return pictures of the results.

This was explained as needed to narrow down to the specific component that was the fault for the issue. I did this, which only took me 15 minutes to do and reply with the pictures. My next email explained that the engineers determined from the pictures that it was the cable at fault, and they were going to send me a new cable.

I replied back to that with the fact that I had used 3 different cables in my testing, and that 2 of them were brand new. The next email from Support was that they were going to send me a new antenna instead.

I received the antennae as promised, tested and found it tested correctly. Hands down amazing customer support.

Ive been using an amplified indoor antenna in Va. and have been getting maybe 15 to 20 channels on a clear day. When it rains, the number of channels drops off or freezes on my screen. I took a chance and bought this antenna as it states it can pick up channels up to 150 miles away.

I installed this antenna in my attic ran two coax cables from the output, one thru a 2-way splitter which cuts the power output in half to three televisions. I pointed the antenna in the direction where it would be able to pick up the most signals.

I got so many channels which made my wife happy. When it was raining and storming, I turn on the kitchen tv to see how the signals were in a storm. Channels that I lost or froze during thunderstorms with my old tv antenna came in clear with no freezing on my tv.

I would recommend this antenna and to let everyone know, you can mount it in your attic, and it will work just fine.

When I first set up the antenna, I thought it was defective. I tried several things, but could not get a signal. I watched YouTube video by someone called Antennaman, who specifically said that the antenna was a piece of junk, and not to buy it.

He did provide some useful information as well. His main objection was that it is somewhat flimsy and cheaply made. It may not last as long as an all-aluminum antenna, but it will probably last long enough if it is not struck by lightning.

I had hooked the antenna directly to the TV, but because I have a Dish TV DVR, it must be connected to the DVR, which does have an antenna port. The setup instructions did not mention this. Once the connection was made, the antenna worked perfectly.

This is a very high quality American made TV antenna. The metal on this antenna is very thick for an antenna, so I expect this antenna to last a lifetime. Almost all the antennas for sale today will only pick up channels 7 through 13 if they even pick up VHF at all and then only if they are receiving a very strong signal.

This antenna will pick up every available channel. I am receiving all 42 channels including our low band VHF channel 6 and the signal is strong and consistent on every channel. Most full size UHF/VHF antennas are 14 ft 6 inches or longer.

I was surprised that this Solid Signal antenna is only 12 ft 6 inches and is well balanced. It doesn’t look nearly as big as my last full size antenna. If you want all your available TV channels and a strong, consistent signal forget the ‘toy’ made in China antennas and get a real antenna made in America with high quality materials.

I had bought this antenna to replace a similar one that the low vhf elements were damaged during an ice storm. I live in southern RI and enjoy both Providence and Boston area stations. Providence PBS 36 and Boston PBS 2 are in the low vhf bands.

This antenna has that frequency coverage. There is perfect reception even with no amplifier. I did install one afterwards for added stability for a 100′ RG6 cable run. Over 40 stations between the two locations there has not been any signal pixel breakup at all.

Works great with my Tablo 4 tuner DVR. If your looking for the best you can get this is the one.

I purchased this antenna because it was the biggest one I could find, thinking that it would give me the best signal reception. But it doesn’t perform as well as my 30 dollar antenna. Now to return and I have to go up retrieve it take it all apart try to find a box big enough to put it in because the box that it came in and was all torn up.

Very disappointed with the antenna especially for how much I paid for it.

It works but so does all the other rotor models. It has the same faults as the rest. I bought one as my first. It lasted about 2 yrs. Most will. The worse problem with them all is the cable that they come with that runs from the antenna to the splitter, it you use one or the box.

It cracks within a year or so. Not made from the best material. Best to go to Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot. Any one that sells coaxial cable and get a the better cable. The other is the box. They usually work for about 2 yrs before they start going out.

The antennas last, the motors last. It’s the cables and the box and the box cost about $30. At least half the cost of the whole package. My thought is buy any of the rotating models, The boxes almost look alike , just different colors.

The box is the brains of the whole thing. The antenna won’t run even one TV if the box is not working. That is the amplifier which these small, 18″ antennas need to even give a signal period. I have been off cable and satellite for several years now and have owned about 3 of these antennas and I am fixing to buy my 4th.

It would have been nice to know the max length of the coax cable from the antenna was only 50’. Didn’t realize until bought and saw manual. Reception was terrible. Also it looks nothing like the picture.

All plastic so I doubt it would have held up after years in the sun. Fins on back are so flimsy too. Very cheaply made.

I was surprised when the box arrived it was much smaller than I expected. My first thought was there must be a million parts to this thing. Surprised again when I opened it. The few component pieces were easy to assemble and the only thing I will re-emphasize is restrain yourself from over tightening everything.

I removed my old 9′ antenna and straightened up the mast. Mounted the LAVA HD2605 and connected it to the existing coax. I aimed it the same direction the old antenna had been. Finishing the inside connections as per the directions and turned on the TV.

WOW! 33 stations and every one of them perfect. I didn’t even need to rotate it. I own a really good TV I never knew how good until I connected it to this antenna. I live in a rural area with out cable and lots of hills.

To get satellite was another project so for years I had to be content with what ever I got from my antenna. It was big and subject to the winds and weather. I could get 26 stations but half of them were un-watchable if it was windy or raining.

It was now obvious that none of them were coming in as true HD with my old antenna. With the LAVA 2605 the TV shows are amazing, sharp, colorful, like never before. I don’t have a monster antenna hanging over my house anymore.

Every channel comes in perfect no matterwhat the weather is doing. Wind, rain, snow, even the big pine trees out back do not affect this antenna. Not that I ever did but I don’t have to pay someone to provide my TV entertainment.

Paying for garbage TV? You may want to consider this option and save yourself a pile of cash every year. I can buy a lot of movies and boxed TV shows for what cable and satellite companies charge. Some of my neighbors noticed the big antenna is gone and wondered what I had put up that is so much smaller.

I invited them in to see my TV. They all agreed my reception and definition are much better than what they are getting. I expect to see a few more of these antennas around soon. This was a great investment.

Bought CM-2016 antenna, also bought titan 2 hide game pre-amplifier. Doing away with Directtv. Mounted antenna on the side of a metal building 20 foot in the air. The furthest TV antenna is about 55 miles away.

Was able to pick up 29 channels over the air. With help of the pre-amplifier the antenna is hooked up to six TVs and all the pictures are clear.

Upgraded my OTA from another manufacturer to the Digital Advantage 45 and I used the video to help and it was very easy to follow. Mounted the antenna in the attic and everything has gone well. I also added a TV Antenna Booster 4, because there were no 2 port boosters in stock, helps to provide a solid display through my DVR+ that I bought years ago.

I threw this onto my couch, hooked the cable up to the TV and received 13 channels. Yesterday I sat it on the roof, pointed it toward Orlando, FL and got 29. I moved it up the roof a foot and turned it slightly and today I got 51 channels.

I am 70 miles from Orlando and this is suppose to have a 35 mile range. Its truly all I need when there’s also internet for streaming. NO MORE CABLE TV nor the bill that comes with it. I have an old cable TV wire running from my livingroom along the outside of my house and into an old plastic box with other wires that are all cut off and going nowhere.

I got a cable coupler ($3 @ Radio Shack) and spliced this old cable to a new one that I ran up onto the roof and yes you just screw it into the antenna. haven’t figured out how to put the included rain ballast on without cutting your cable? I’ll use electrical tape instead! I already have a roof bracket but finding a mast (pole, pipe) proved a challenge so I went to Lowes and they had a nice long piece of mast in the coaxial cable department, 1.

This antenna was easy to assemble in just a few minutes. If you are not very handy the instruction book will guide you through the assembly. After I had it assembled I decided to mount it in my attic as far to the roof as I could and ran the line to a tv in my garage.

I had analog cable out in my garage and thought that having a crystal clear digital signal would be nice to watch football games while I work. I went to the website antennaweb and looked up what channels to expect to receive.

I live in a rural area at least 50 miles from the nearest cities and expected to get about 14 channels per the website. After I hooked up the tv to the antenna and did the channel scan I got 17 stations which included PBS,CBS,FOX,NBC, and ABC.

The antenna picked up some of the same networks from multiple surrounding cities. Pretty impressed with how many stations this antenna picked up especially for its size and the area that I live in. All stations had crystal clear picture which is great.

It was packaged very well from the factory with everything arriving in great condition after I opened up the box and the actual construction of the parts feel of good quality but surprising light weight when fully assembled.

Antenna seems to be made well. Brought in a couple more channels than my other antenna. Only thing it is real light and not much wind will distort some channels. I like the design though except for the lightness and ease of bumping around.

All in all I would recommend this antenna because it does as well as all the other ones I have used.

Plus it has 4K fullHD 1080 clarity. Now I am saving over $60 a month and it came with a lifetime warranty. It was Whole Home Ready so I was able to use coaxial cable and connect my whole home to the GE outdoor antenna.

Pros long-range 70 miles. Cons take me about 30 minutes to find the right spot.

Replaced a 40 yr old antenna destroyed by Hurricane Ida. New antenna gives me 42 strong channels in Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Live on heavy wooded acreage that tends to impede signals. Very satisfied with this purchase.

This antenna was a great price for its distance range. When compared to other brands this was the best value. I installed it with a preamplifier and I am receiving all my local stations within 75 miles and a few that are 90 to 100 miles away.

I live on a hill and have a 30 foot tower which helps. It is a large antenna but very light weight and I was able to install it myself with no problem on a wind free day.

I’ve had enough with Direct TV and the recent encounter totally lacked in any semblance of customer service. Time for alternatives. I’d tried lesser-priced antennas before, but only received Oklahoma stations (I’m very close to OK).

My neighbor had gone the same route and finally purchased a more expensive one and was very happy. I shopped on line and compared the customer reviews. This model seemed to fit the bill and was on sale.

It came a day earlier than expected. It should be noted that you need to purchase a mast for mounting, coax cable, and go the extra step and buy ground wire for added safety. You will need a lot of room for assembly as the unit is quite large.

The instructions could be better as the illustrations are not very explicit, but the parts are few and a long as you have the tops and bottoms correct you really cannot go wrong. Very important: do not extend the lower reflector boom until you are ready to mount the unit.

The unit will be more manageable and lie flat until you extend this boom. If you extend it before mounting the whole weight of the unit will be resting on this one piece (very bad). Assembly can be a one person task with 4 tools, but for final mounting you really need at least one other person.

The unit itself is fairly light weight, but large and fragile. Plus, you have the coax cable attached. The instructions do not say so, but I would highly advise strapping the cable to the unit with zip ties, otherwise I can see it flapping in the wind.

The transistor connection is a very vulnerable area so pay attention to restricting its movement. The instructions advise 2 people to do the adjusting for reception. I did it myself with a few trips.

It’s no big thing, you just point the antenna in a direction, run the program on your set for antenna reception and it programs whatever you can pull in with that setting. Each time you re-direct the antenna you have to re-run this program.

I currently receive 12 stations loud and clear, all the locals, PBS (2 of them) and a couple I’m not sure what they are yet. I could probably get a couple more as there are a couple of stations still pixilated, but I’m happy with what I’ve got, especially the PBS which Direct never could figure out why I wasn’t getting it.

This unit will pay for itself in a few months. I cannot put a price on past frustration. An added bonus: I have everything in a power strip so I can really turn stuff off. It would take the darn dish sometimes 20 minutes to fire up and reschedule.

With this antenna you turn it on and you have TV! I would highly recommend this unit for anyone who is only interested in local programming and looking to save money. This review was written 4 days after installation so I do not know how the reception will be during rain yet.

If you live near a large metropolitan area, this may be just what you need to receive most channels. It is a UHF antenna. (You should not expect Walmart to tell you that. ) Even UHF antennas receive some VHF signals, but they are pretty much omnidirectional for VHF.

The three small elements in front (directors) are sized for channels in the 700 to 900 Mhz range which mostly no longer exist as TV channels. So, for most channels you will receive, it is a 2 element antenna.

It has a built in transformer, so you connect an F connector cable directly to the antenna. Most antenna distance claims are worthless including this one. It depends on the height of the antenna and terrain between you and the TV tower that transmits the signal to you.

The number of channels you receive are dependent on how many channels are being transmitted in your area. If you are disappointed in this antenna, you could buy a better one from Channel Master, a company that has been making antennas since before most of us were born, and whose distance claims are somewhat realistic.

It is very lightweight (a good thing) and easy to assemble. It works very well but the signal does still break up due to storms (to be expected as the antenna cannot affect how well the signal is able to travel through storm clouds in the atmosphere.

) We even receive a local channel that most of our neighbors say is impossible to get to come in. This antenna combined with a ROKU has helped us break our reliance on cable. saving us a LOT of money while providing a better selection of programs.

My one suggestion: If I were making this purchase again, I think I would have chosen the 120-mile-range antenna but we are very happy with this one.

As a starter antenna with a 60 mile range for $15, this is it! It also comes with a “J” mounting pole and 15′ of coaxial cable. I live in an apartment in NW New Jersey and have the antenna connected inside to a $90 TV HD amplifier with LTE filter (sold separately) and with (6’+6′) of RG-6 Quad Shielded Coaxial Cable (sold separately).

I receive “14” channels perfectly. Without the TV HD amplifier with LTE filter, I get “0” channels. I would definitely recommend this product with amplifier (sold separately) to a friend.

I purchased this antenna for my guest room tv which does not have cable. Assembly was easy to understand. I don’t think this antenna will hold up in outside weather. That’s why I removed one star. Just to test I connected to tv.

I got 2 local channels. I am planning to put in the highest point in attic but not sure how I will test if I can get more channels before going through the effort. The remote for rotation works alright.

I am still not sure the purpose of the booster box. I see same channels even if the booster box is turned off. Anyways saves me some electricity and trouble to keep one more power connection on.

had direct TV and nothing but infomercials for $78. this was $45 once and I get all the basic channels and couple of extras for free. also in HD!! took 10 minutes to hook up and we were watching football!!.

This is the second one I have bought. I have 2 properties on a lake that is below a large hill. Picked up 22 channels. Very happy with that. Also it is very attractive and looks great. I love it.

The antenna works better than expected since I live in rural Mo. lots of hills, hollers, and trees between me and the nearest signal and just guessing the distance is at Least 55 miles to the nearest towers maybe even further.

Instructions for assembly suck but just do a search on YouTube and the first one that shows up is the Best instructional video. After assembly of the unit which turned out to not be all that complicated I decided to give it a test run inside my house.

With the unit simply clamped to a kitchen chair I pointed in the general direction of where my closest towers were located, did a channel search and Bam! I got 17 very clear channels immediately. Since I bought this antenna for outside purposes because I have an existing pole I then took it outdoors.

After securing the unit to my pole with the hardware included, nothing else to buy. I had read that you can connect a TV antenna to your cable TV wiring system. If your home is wired for cable TV and you want to cut the cord and drop cable in favor of a TV antenna, the same coax cable can be used for the TV antenna.

So, we bought this antenna, and my husband used the existing cable lines to run it to the 3 TVs. We had to purchase cable to connect the antenna to the splitter and grounding wire. We now get 56 crystal clear local channels with no pixelating.

I was having severe Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy withdrawal, but not any longer. Also, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are now the Super Bowl champions, and we did not miss one second of the game. I would totally recommend this antenna and gave it 5 stars.

This is a fantastic little antenna! I had about 50 cable channels (basic subscription) and I now have over 50 over the air channels (I’m in an excellent area for reception). I have it mounted in my attic to protect it from weather and to make it easier to change direction if needed.

I installed a quality splitter in-line and now two televisions receive over the air channels. I’m going to add a signal amplifier in-line to pull in some extra channels that have weak signals. No more cable bills! Better variety of programs!.

It’s not as powerful as we’d hoped. Especially compared to our over 25 yr old radio shack antenna of same design but shorter. It seems to real picky as to where u aim it to get in signals. The radio shack antenna picked up signal in a more broad range.

It seems to be more sensitive to atmospheric changes as well. Rain will cause signal loss on some channels. Again not a problem on the old antenna. Some channels are coming in a bit better but the other issues are just about a deal breaker.

Not worth the extra money we paid for slightly better reception.

This replaced a 54 element antenna with definitely improved reception. Distant (50+ miles) stations come in with rarer drop-outs. The material quality is much better than imports. Thicker, sturdier metal and plastic parts.

Still, be careful when assembling. Open by putting pressure nearer to the fulcrum, not at the ends where everything can bend more easily. A real plus that it’s made in America.

Design of downlead box requires a staking of the contacts to 4 aluminum rods. Box is not sealed, only held with 4 plastic tabs, is thin warped plastic and leaks to elements and insects. My antenna lasted less than a year before surface mounted components and board corroded.

Contact with Winegard told me it is only covered for 90 days. That tells a lot that a manufacturer will only warranty a passive item for such a short time. New box is another $25, Winegard says you are on your own.

Very common problem with this antenna. Now in the recycling pile.

This antenna is best with UHF. Something that’s VERY important is to get it at least 20′ up in the air. The biggest weakness of this unit is that it can be rotated to get the best signal strength, but a person inside with the 2-button remote ( Both buttons rotate the antenna is either CW or CCW direction and the user has zero control as to what direction it will turn.

) is that there is no way to know the direction the antenna is pointing absent looking at it. A better design would entail using a rotational encoder to send a signal down the coax cable to a control box with a display showing what direction the antenna is pointing.

The low price precludes such but I would pay double the present sale price for that feature. Overall a good value.

Expectation for antenna high. After install and use, a total let down. Could only receive 3 lousy stations. I live in Las Cruces New Mexico and El Paso is only 40 miles away. They (El Paso) has more than 45 stations on digital.

Could not get a single station from them. What a waste of my time to install and pay for this product.

Works really well, hope it lasts. Looks good quality. Easy to assemble and install. Picked up 55 digital channels. I have channels I didn’t know existed. At this price – amazing product.

Recent cable (actually satellite) cutter. This is the first outdoor TV antenna that I have had in probably 20 years. This antenna is very well built and not overly huge. I temporarily mounted it on my old satellite dish pole about 4 feet off the ground between 2 metal building and did a channel scan.

I picked up about 30 channels!! Even picked up a Hi-VHF transmitter that is over 50 miles away with the antenna pointed >90 degrees away from the transmitter and completely blocked by one metal building.

It worked so good that I decided to leave it on the satellite dish pole since I am getting all the networks and their sub channels. I will be ordering the long range UHF only model of this antenna for our off-grid cabin in TN.

This antenna is way underrated. It states a 60-mile range but I’m picking up channels from 80 + miles!! I live in the woods on a lake lots of trees around I have struggled for a good signal for many years with different antennas and setups this is by far the best setup yet! With the TELEVES DATBOSS MIX UHF/VHF antenna and the RCA VH226e rotor I now get over 80 OTA (broadcast)channels!! I went from 28% signal from my farthest transmitter(65 miles) to 68%+!! And I’m picking up channels I never knew existed before from 80+ miles away at 28 to 36% signal all very watchable!! I highly recommend this combo!! After installing mine all my neighbors are going to cut the cord!! PS.

We started a few years ago with the Televes DATBOSS Mix Long Range (top) to pull in channels from Orlando 65 miles from us and a Televes 2 input preamp to combine channels from an XG91 pointed at West Palm Beach 45 miles.

We just replaced the XG91 with the DATBOSS Mix (bottom) and changed the preamp to the latest Televes T-Force 2 input preamp with F connector terminations. Being able to combine, preamp and pass DC to both antennas is a big plus with the Televes preamp.

I did have to turn the preamp gain on the lower antenna (45 miles) down about half away but only had to turn the upper antennas gain down a bit. Great signal, very nice quality and a reasonable price.

I get all my TV from a rooftop antenna. My old one survived two tornados and 30 winters. When it finally came time to change it, this large, non-amplified RCA antenna filled the bill. The price was reasonable, and it arrived several days earlier than promised.

All the promised parts were present and the instructions were good. We used a screw driver and pliers for the nuts and bolts, and electrical tape and a cable tie to secure the 75 ohm cable (not included).

A friend helped me assemble and install it, which worked out fine. It is so large that we assembled it on the lawn and then hoisted it to the roof with a rope. It came with a sturdy mast, but we simply mounted the new antenna on the old mast and tripod.

We used a website which showed the location of my nearest broadcast towers (45 miles away) so we could aim the antenna accordingly. I now get twice as many channels (71, some duplicates) as with my old antenna.

I cannot yet rate the new antenna on durability, but so far so good. Recommended.

I live just North of Warrenton about 3 miles and when it comes to antennas-bigger is better. The more elements the antenna has, and the higher you can get it, the better will be your reception. This antenna is in the same location as the Dish antenna was located-about 4 ft.

higher and I have it pointed NE towards Washington. I receive 33 channels–some of the digital channels better and sharper than cable. The only channel I cannot get is channel 7-ABC. And my wife and I love the available programming-the old re-runs are good wholesome story-lines-no bad language (they didn’t permit it then) good comedy and great movies.

Oh sure-there are commercials, but remember, you are not paying for it, if I pay nearly two hundred dollars a month for TV, I don’t want to listen to commercials, for free TV, I will. So, a bigger antenna might be better, but I don’t want to upset too many neighbors in HOA neighborhood, by putting it higher–though legally, I could.

I do miss ABC though.

3 problems. One, the two phase wires from the front element to the middle element were not long enough to reach the middle element contact posts (see attached photo – the two wires with loose ends are supposed to reach the two contact posts below them).

Two, the assembled product dimensions on the walmart product page are way off – says the longest dimension is around six feet, but is actually almost 9 feet. Third, the fastener wholes are poorly machined, so either the antenna can’t be reasonably assembled by the consumer or he needs to use a drill to clean up the insert wholes so they are functional.

RCA = not reliable quality. I guess this is understandable since there is no company behind the brand name except for the mere owner of the brand name and various third parties it sells the right to use the name.

While it does state that they have a 30 day return policy, I purchased an advertised 65 mile outdoor antenna to replace a 15 year old antenna that worked great but was just falling apart. Out of the box, I had less channels, played around with the antenna, purchased better grade coax, moved the tv closer to the antenna, and purchased an amplifier.

Everything I could on my end because it did state 65 mile range. contacted the manufacturer that stated the listing was incorrect. This is a 37 mile antenna. So past the 30 day mark, and with their incorrect advertising They still will not exchange.

I paid through the nose for this overrated and overpriced antenna that is touted to be omnidirectional. What a ‘bald-faced LIE’. On the very best day I could watch OTA digital broadcast with THOUSANDS of interruptions and horrible pixelations.

Until I removed it and replaced it with a $30 directional antenna, I honestly thought the broadcasters were sending LOW POWER broadcast. Now I know for fact that this antenna has been the cause of my TV watching for over a year.

If you still want one, contact me and purchase my used ANTOP at 50% savings but do it soon before it goes in the recycle bin.

As everyone who has attempted to install an antenna knows, it all depends on your particular circumstances. I intend to be a cable-cutter and this was the second low-profile antenna I have tested in my quest to find something functional for external installation without completely annoying my neighbors.

I really like this antenna for its compactness/profile and overall functionality. It was very easy to assemble and test and worked very well for UHF reception. Unfortunately it did not receive 2 of the high-VHF channels in my area that I need to pick up, so it did not fully meet my needs.

I did try mounting it in multiple locations at different heights, but could not improve the VHF signal. To my surprise the UHF signals were strong everywhere. In total fairness to Antop, I called before purchasing this antenna to get their technical input on the suitability of this product to meet my needs.

After discussing it we agreed there was a 50/50 chance of it fully meeting my needs given the locations of the 3 broadcast towers and mix of UHF/VHF channels in San Diego. So it was my choice to give it a try knowing this.

I would give the antenna 5 stars for design, profile and function for picking up UHF signals, especially in an area where towers are spread out. Unfortunately it did not have enough capability to pick up the VHF channels, so it does not meet that need.

As a note, this antenna cannot use a different, stronger pre-amp to enhance the signals. After testing it I had another conversation with Antop to discuss options and ultimately decided to try Antop 400BV that has a better ability to handle VHF signals.

I am in the process of testing that product now. Kudos to Antop for their support!.

This outdoor antenna gets the job done! Mounted it on the top of my chimney, facing majority of broadcast signals. Picked up over 25 extra channels with NO PIXELATION. Even picked up stations from an entirely different direction.

Mine was mounted 30 above ground and trimmed tree branches for line of sight in direction. Very happy with this compared to $20 indoor antenna which fabricate miles of coverage. Previously purchased flat indoor window antenna.

Received 50 channels, with constant pixelation. If your broadcast towers are over 25 miles away you need either a high end indoor $75+ or this Yagi at half the price. Easy to install. Masonry anchors into brick chimney , cable secured down the brick.

Drill hole through house wall. Crimp ends on cable. wallah. 75 channels clear as cable.

In Tampa/St Pete area. Had trouble getting NBC with indoor antenna. This was the only reason I couldn’t cancel my subscription to Hulu Live. I picked up this antenna because it was the only one at my Walmart under $100.

Assembly was easy. Be careful! There are some sharp edges and I cut my fingers on them. I was able to pull in 27 channels standing in my garage but still no NBC. I went up to my attic and rescanned still no NBC.

My friend told me to download an app that would tell me which direction to point the antenna. That did the trick. It picked up 50 channels and NBC. Canceled Hulu Live the next day. Using Amazon Recast and wanted to make sure I liked the interface.

I did break the thing that the coax cable attaches to. I picked on up at local hardware store for $5. You can search for “TV Antenna adapter transformer Blaun” to find a replacement.

This antenna was fairly easy to put together. Take your time. Use the pictures! I used my old Direct TV cable to hook the antenna up. Ground wire already on old Direct tv cable. I did NOT have to add a signal amp set-up to this to get a great picture and more channels.

I put this antenna on the end of my house at the peak of my roof. It is not very big or noticeable. Works great, for $40 it’s a steal.

This gives good reception in the Laurel Highlands 50 miles east to stations in Pittsburgh. I do not have it mounted high due to HOA restrictions so it’s ground level outdoors on the small patio. We are 2700 feet in elevation so maybe that helps.

We do get some video tearing but I get the local news. The mounting hardware on the back of the antenna very innovative. I have two of these at the resort The only draw back if any is that it does not use a USB power injector but if one goes bat you can get a power injector on the internet.

I had one go bad and I used a USB injector from an old Mohu and it worked. Remember these are power injectors and not an amplifier. The amplifier is in the body of the antenna.

Bought this antenna a while back, and recently installed. Picture was MUCH better than expected, even through some evergreens. Unfortunately the inline amplifier tanked after a week, and neither Best Buy nor Rocketfish were responsive.

Bought an amplifier from Amazon, plugged it in, and it works great. This antenna is definitely worth the money and the effort of providing your own tech support. Bye bye cable guy.

Interesting testing out the Rocketfish RF-ANT50UD Amplified Outdoor TV Antenna. I started with it inside by a window connected to our kitchen TV without the amplifier. It pulled in only 4 channels vs 10-15 with our indoor antenna.

Next I slid it out the window and tied it to our gazebo frame: same 4 channels. Next set it on top of the roof: same 4 channels. Then I plugged in the amplifier and it grabbed 60 channels less about 10 that were not strong enough.

Was it just the amplifier? I hooked the amplifier up to our indoor antenna and it did not help, but it sure helps the outdoor one. So now that I know it will help, I tried it placed on the roof on the other end of the house, this time plugged (with amplifier) into our house cable wiring.

Only 40 channels this time. I don’t know if it’s the location (now behind a tree) or pushing the signal through two splitters and 4-5 coax lines, most 10-15+ years old. I suspect the wiring is the problem.

Anyway, the stations it does get include all our local stations that we wanted and couldn’t get well with 3 different powered and unpowered indoor antennas. I deducted a star because it’s only pulling in 30-40 mile or less range not the higher 40-60 advertised, however, that may be entirely our location.

All were low on the roof, not the peak, and final location is about three feet up on a side eaves behind a tree. Works well enough for us. The more distant stations tend to be a repeat of the locals (a second NBC, etc.

).
