While I did not expect a marquee-level product given the high demand, I was startled by the shoddy workmanship and flimsy quality of this appliance. It arrived with dents, the instructions were not written by native English speakers so there’s some guessing required and the sheet metal edges are very sharp (wear gloves when unboxing).

I consider this a disposable appliance to use a few times, so if you keep those expectations low, you should be just fine with this purchase.

This heater works great. Assembly is easy, but just be sure you view the assembly pictures to make sure you have parts in the correct position. If you use sand to to fill the base, make sure the sand is DRY or it will take a long time to get the sand through the small hole.

I would have used water but I was afraid the water would freeze and crack the base making it useless.

The installation was pretty simple and the stainless appearance is nice. But it blew over in moderate wind causing the pole and top canopy to bend. And, it doesnt throw off a lot of heat even on high setting.

Slim pickings for in stock heaters due to covid aside, I suggest you look for a better quality heater.

Assembly instructions were clear, and all the pieces were well packaged, labeled and organized. I purchased 2 heaters. One works perfectly. In the other, there is a defect in the control box assembly.

The white disk through which the flame is generated is not centered in the box, and does not line up with the hole in the top of the assembly. As a result, the flame partially hits the top of the assembly box and enters the glass tube to one side.

While the heater appears to operate in this condition, a large carbon stain appears on one side of the glass tube with each use. This carbon staining has not happened on the second heater, where the disk lines up perfectly with the hole at the top of the assembly box.

I also worry if using the heater in this condition is dangerous.

Purchased a Thermo tiki patio heater. Received the product very quickly (3 days). During assembly I discovered the gasket that the glass column sits on was missing. I called customer service. A human being answered the phone was very professional and assured a replacement part would be shipped out.

After receiving the heater, I completed assembly and have used it a few times. It works great. the only negative is the burner moves and you have to adjust it if you move the heater.

The heater arrives in many parts but the assembly instructions are detailed and clear, though it takes a lot longer than the estimated one hour to put it together. More like 4 hours for me, but one person can handle it.

The quality is good, the parts all lined up (something I noted reviewers of other products complained about), and it started on the first try. The top piece, a metal square, was bent a bit in shipping and I will see about getting a replacement of that part but that doesn’t impact function and it’s so high up that it’s not really noticeable.

I really enjoy having this heater on my enclosed but not insulated back porch. It makes it warm and comfortable. You may need to layer up with a blanket or a jacket if it’s really cold outside as this product hasn’t been used in the dead of winter yet.

The heat output is very similar to a campfire. The closer you are to it, the more warmth you get as long as nothing is between you and the heater. Overall easy to assemble and I was able to put it together by myself and it did not take long.

I like that it is electric, so as soon as I had it together it was ready to use. It works by remote which is a nice bonus! Another bonus is the nice cover it comes with. I’m glad it comes with auto shut off if it tips over.

Very pleased with this product as I’ll be able to enjoy my back porch in all seasons !.

We waited until the right temperature to try this out. We have a wood patio/deck and was always concerned about safety. We found it with this product. We tested the safety features and they worked as stated.

We feel completely comfortable using this at our home. Easy to understand instructions on how to set it up and use every thing. The remote works great, we didn’t think we would use the remote like we do.

It kept the chill away when we were hanging out on our patio. We’re so happy, we have been able to use our patio earlier than normal because of this product. It will also be easy for us to pack away for the winter months.

I am SO excited to review this Sun Joe electric heater. We received it just as we were about to get a big snow. My husband set it up and got it running within a few minutes (it was a quick and easy set up!) and we put it in the garage for a “warming station” as the kids were playing in the snow.

It was perfect for that purpose! We also used it indoors as a supplemental heat when it was incredibly cold outside. I’m excited to use this on our screened in porch in the early spring or late fall when it’s a little chilly but you still want to be outdoors.

We are already thinking of getting a second one! I love that you can mount it to a wall or keep it portable with the stand.

I have to say I was disappointed when I received these heaters. I purchased two of these on sale and was very excited to use these for a party. They came very quickly so that was great. The first heater we opened had a large dent in the base piece.

Then the connection to the door for the gas tank had both rivets broken off to latch it closed. The second heaters latch was broken off completely. Thankfully my husband is a handy man and fixed the dent with a hammer, but he had to buy a rivet machine to fix both heaters.

They are working perfectly now, but I would inspect these on arrival to be sure they are not missing rivets. These are very nice and I love the bronze coloring.

Wanted to purchase a patio heater to warm the area this holiday season. I looked at different stores online and Tractor Supply had this Hiland AZ unit on sale with free delivery. Ordered it and had it delivered to the house in a couple of days.

The carton had no signs of wear and tear when received. The heater was packaged securely and the parts and pieces clearly labeled. It took about an hour to assemble. Installed a propane tank and gave it test lighting when the assembly was complete.

It worked well and the heat radiated from it is quite impressive. The heater has two wheels to help move it around the patio. The shelf that is included is nice to set drinks, phones, etc. on it while outside.

I did order a cover for it since this does not come with one.

This heater is a stunning addition to my porch. The California climate lends itself to lots of outdoor dining and hosting so having a heater is very practical. I like that it looks stylish and dresses up my less-than fine dining outdoor decor.

The heating power is decent for small to medium areas but in larger ones, it does not extend as far as I would like. I would consider installing either a second heater or a strong one altogether if you are looking for an idealistic, warm space.

Overall the value is great and it adds a nice touch to the outdoor area.

Okay so I got this for my house! And wow!!! I absolutely love it. We spend a lot of time outside during the winter months and this is super helper for staying warm! It’s actually taller than I expected but not in a bad way! It stands over 7 feet tall which is great for my husband who is 6’6! The base of it has a little table which is cute to sit drinks and things on.

Quality is amazing! Works 100% as expected definitely helps to stay warm!.

The product is nicely built, however you cannot get a safe tight fit to the propane tank. I called Snow Joe and they sent me a replacement unit and I got the same result. I got a Blue Rhino tank from Lowes and even wrapped the tank threads with plumbers gas tape at the suggestion of Lowes and it still leaks.

I would send it back, but would be improbable to disassemble and pack. Do yourself a favor and buy locally so you don’t end up like I have with a worthless heater.

Not as tall as I expected. The heat did not seen to be nearly as hot as I expected either. We had to crowd within 2 feet of it to really feel it. The black paint was very light in areas to the extent of seeing the raw metal in some areas.

I am very impressed with the build quality and heat output this stove has. It’s important to follow the break in instructions so read the manual before attempting to light. As others have said use only Douglas Fir pellets for the best result and you will learn the most efficient way to manage the flu and feeder flow the more you use it.

(Make sure you empty the drawer for spent pellets at the bottom from time to time. I dump mine into a bucket of water) The heat output is intense and I prefer to leave out the middle section of the stack when you are going to sit around the stove.

So far I am extremely pleased and highly recommend this over a propane fire pit which I have! *Due to the intense heat I would not recommend placing on a deck without some kind of heat reflector under it.

I don’t believe it produces 100k but heat at all. You have to be literally right next to the heater. I has a pretty flame inside but all the heat doss not radiate out very well. I was hoping for much more heat.

Good quality and easy to put together once you figure out the parts. I took off a star for the parts. None of the parts are labeled and with so many nuts and bolts and washers that’s really important so you don’t mix them up.

On top of that I thought that I was missing parts but it was actually not in the parts bag. Instead some of the screws, nuts and bolts were already attached to other parts. It was very confusing. I had to sit down and label all the parts and it wasn’t until I was going through the process of putting it together that I saw there was hardware already attached to parts.

If this was more easily labeled I would have given it a 5 star. Can’t wait to hook it up to the propane to see how it works.

For the price (90) I paid this heater looks and works really good. Paint and finish looks good, no scratches. Warms up very well. I will have to see how long will this last and how it holds up to rains (not much in LA anyways).

Requires a lot of assembly. Not a single spare screw so be careful not to loose or damage one. Reflector was packed is a shrink wrap kind of plastic making it tough to unpack. Once I got over the gripes of assembly I have no complaints.

Recommended over HD and Costco heaters which sell north of 150 for the same BTU capability.

I had two Mainstays Patio heaters delivered to my house the shipping was pretty quick only 2 days they both came in a medium size box disassembled if you don’t mind what color you buy the Mocha color is not bad it’s dark brown and for the price you can’t beat it.

The assembly of the patio heaters was pretty quick I won’t say easy because you do have to do some thinking since the instructions are kind of non existent so you have to figure out what screw goes into what hole but it’s pretty common sense.

Just pop in a fresh propane tank and you’re good to go since I only had to try only one time to turn it on it was very easy I was kind of impressed that it worked since the price was so cheap for a patio heater.

We will see how it withstands time but with anything the components will wear out. If the heater can give me 1-3 years I will be a satisfied customer.

I purchased this in store. A true 304 stainless steel which mean no magnet will cling to it! I was going to get the Hampton Bay at home depot, but when I lifted the box it was almost 50 % lighter than the member’s mark unit.

Upon putting the my members mark unit together it was packaged very well, no dings! The assembly layout was the best I’ve ever seen on putting anything together, very well layer out!! That table light is awesome!!! I recommend buying instore via shipping.

I glad I did not get the home depot heater, not sure if it was 304 stainless steel and definitely lighter than my member’s mark. I did not light my unit yet as I will do that soon and give my opinion as well.

Bought this for my covered deck near the pool. I was worried the surface of my panels above the heater would get too hot. My ceiling is 11ft. But there are no issues! The heat really does radiate down and around.

I bought a second one and they were a hit for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved them. Glad I purchased them.

The setup was pretty easy and it took about 45 min. I like that there is a little cocktail table attached, but the battery powered light flickers. It’s sounds like a great idea, but its not that practical and not that bright either.

The center pole is not that sturdy, so if anyone accidentally pushes the pole it may bent. All in all though, this is a great propane heating unit where you don’t have to plug in so you can move it around your yard without the cord.

The heating range on low is 5×5 heating radius and 8×8 when in full blast.

This thing looks cool, but it does not heat the patio. After it took me 3 hours to assemble it, I attached a full tank of propane. On high, the thing produced an orange flame that goes right to the top of the glass tube.

The instructions say the flame should be blue and go only 2/3 of the way up, but it was only blue for the first few inches at the bottom. Most importantly, the heater did not heat the patio. Hardly any heat radiates sideways.

Most of it just goes out the top and up and away, well above where people sit. The top shield is too small, so hardly any heat radiates down. What a waste of fuel and source of pollution this thing is.

As my son said, this is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

I love the way this product looks. I can’t comment on the heat yet as I haven’t used it for an extended period of time to measure that performance. What I will say is it looks fabulous lit and adds an ambience to my patio the same way bistro lights did when I had those installed.

The pyramid style offers heat radiating from an area much lower in height than the conventional floor standing heaters. The upper dome is smaller than the floor standing, but I feel that the overall the heat given out is not as great as the conventional floor standing units that I have owned in the past.

Great looking and functional. You will need to buy a flex line kit to connect it to your main gas line. 24” worked great in my application. I bought part number GUHD-AD36-46D(CG) Via amazon. Additionally I would recommend buying the heat deflector regardless of application.

Otherwise the majority of the heat rises up. For the coat of this unit, it should be included.

This is a good looking unit and was fairly easy to assemble. When I tried to light it, I got a pilot flame but it went out as soon as I released the button. So it looked like the thermocouple wasn’t working to allow the opening of the main gas.

I called the company and they immediately sent out a new burner assembly. Swapped it out by removing 4 screws and it worked perfectly. The heater sends a flame straight up the glass tube and is very visually appealing.

But it doesn’t seem to radiate a lot of ambient heat from the sides. Maybe the top reflector should be a little larger and round instead of square. We’ll have to see if this will be beneficial on calm chilly evenings.

Pros. Once assembled it looks great and adds character to your outdoor area. Cons. I purchased to add a second unit to my patio. Compared to my first one (different brand) this was lacked in comparison.

I read the reviews on other sites and concur with their findings. The instructions on this unit are difficult. Luckily I had recently put the other one together so I remembered how everything went. Second the manufacture decided to screw all the screws in to the pieces where they belong as opposed to putting them in baggies.

This was a pain as you are finding yourself unscrewing the screws to re-insert them and put them back together. The biggest thing I hated about this unit was that they did not spend any time smoothing out the burrs on the metal pieces.

Your hands will get cut up when you assemble this unit. Four stars because it’s pretty, but honestly it probably rates three. I would probably go with a different brand if I add a third unit to my patio.

Just what I needed for my patio. What I had not expected was the heater needed to be put together, every bolt, every piece. It took me almost 3 hours. It wasn’t difficult just time consuming.

Beautiful heater, but does not give off quite as much heat as we had hoped. Still comfortable to sit near when cold outside. Our patio is not protected from the wind, so might give off more heat to a larger radius in a protected area.

I wouldn’t buy this again. It goes through the propane incredibly fast and doesn’t put out much heat unless you’re inches away, which isn’t that safe. Only way to get it to put out as much heat as possible is to have it on high which will drain the propane in less than an hour.

Seems silly to have to swap out a small tank that often. I wouldn’t purchase again.

Just received this item but the burner is not working right. I have requested a new burner for it but after 2 weeks I have not heard back from the manufacturer. Maybe I need to call Hayneedle!

Purchased 2 for large outdoor patio. Has wheels to easily move to different areas. Have areas to bungee cord so wind doesn’t blow over when not in use. That’s the biggest drawback of these, if not secured, wind will blow over and dent top.

Everyone I know that has this type of heater has this issue. As long as you can secure, it’s no issue. Heats very nicely.

This heater gives off ample heat. It was not difficult to assemble. The reason for the four stars is that it toppled over after being outside during a windy day. We thought it would hold up to the elements a bit better.

Knowing this we probably would not have purchased it as we were looking for something to keep us warm on the patio all year round.

I purchsed this product to use on Thanskgiving day. My son is immune suppressed as a result of a kidney transplant. With COVID, we couldn’t have dinner inside. Luckilly it was 50 degrees that day and we used the heater on the deck for dinner with the family.

The heater did a great job making it comfortable and we all had a great Thansgiving Dinner.
