20 Best Outdoor Skates For Beginners (2022 Updated)

I am extremely dissatisfied with my purchase from C7 Skates. I followed the sizing chart exactly as it was described on the website, as well as reading through the sizing chart diagram. It states that women’s 6s skates are a size 5, which is incorrect!! I initially wanted an exchange because the skates are a lovely color, but C7 Skates does not offer exchanges, only returns.

If a company can offer returns then they can offer exchanges, they simply do not want to. Also, while the C7 Skates offer free shipping, but returns cost $15, which is absurd given that my skates did not arrive on time.

Please be cautious when ordering from C7 Skates; their advertising is incredibly misleading, and their customer service is useless.

Do not buy, I have a pair because I was new to rollerskating and wanted a less risky/cheaper pair. Bearings (what hold wheels to boot) came loose after 3 wears like BROKEN so I can’t re tighten them, material for boot doesn’t look good when skating folds weird and the toe stops are junk, junk eraser material threads immediately and a weird design means you can’t replace them.

The one thing to keep in mind is I am an outdoor skater so these skates might cling a few days longer to life if you skate inside. Sorry don’t get mad usually but was so excited for the first few days wearing them, now I’ve just lost my nerve cause they are so sketchy with the wobbling and no toe stop.

PLEASE READ! I read reviews from people who said that they were true to size. I had a totally different experience. I wear a six and a half or a seven and I bought the seven. I would understand if they were a little large, but they are huge probably more like an eight or a nine.

I like the skates, I like the wheels, I tried to get over it but it was just too much. So my recommendation would be to try to find them in store, or just be prepared to return them if the size doesn’t fit.

Other than size though I think they’re good esp for beginners.

A lot of the reviews say to buy a size smaller, but I just bought a 9 women’s (I’m typically an 8-9 normal shoes, and an 8 in men’s skates) and they fit pretty well. While there’s definitely some extra room, I laced them a bit tighter and they fit perfectly.

The boot goes about an inch or two more up your leg than average rink rental skates, so they have more support and feel more “attached” to your leg. The toe stops are pretty large and flat (not peg-shaped), so it’s really easy to slow down or stop.

They do weigh 7. 5 pounds total, so be prepared for a workout. Because of that, it may also be harder to sustain high speeds unless you’re really working at it, but it’s been easier for me to stop or slow down quickly.

Overall, they feel very sturdy and strong, they don’t hurt my feet or give me blisters, and they roll very nicely. No adjustments required; I skated on them for a few hours immediately after opening the box.

They worked very well on the smooth concrete sidewalks at the park, but rolled a little bit easier and faster at the indoor skating rink, so be advised. I ordered them on a Friday; they took about 5 business days to ship.

I had to call to change my address while the order was in route, and the customer service representative was very helpful. Overall, great product.

As a beginner skater, this is a great pair of skates. The boots are relatively comfortable and break in easily. There is also a lot of padding inside the boot that help to absorb shocks from hitting rocks.

Also, the skates are very cute and come with a y shaped skate tool and toe covers. It’s a great value!.

The skates are soooo cute. But theres no padding inside. The skate is kinda uncomfortable. Sizing for half sizes is hard. You can definitely find way better skates somewhere else. But the color scene is to die for.

If you want beauty over comfort, these skates are for you.

Skates are amazing, I’ve been wanting some Moxi Lollys for a long time. These skates came as described, unused, unlaced, and with crab tool and aqua energy skates. They’re gorgeous!Unfortunately these are just a tiny bit too big, I should have found a size 7 somewhere but I took a chance and will most likely have to resell them.

I can get away with skating in them, but to me my foot looks big even though I could wear them probably. The skates themselves are of impeccable quality, structured nicely and durable. I have not laced them up I just slid my foot in the right skate with a sock on and saw how much space I had.

They feel snug on the sides of my foot as do my other pair of Moxi Beach Bunnys. I wear an 8. 5 in women’s but I’m in between 8. 5 and 9, my foot doesn’t stop at 8. 5. which is why I should have ordered a size 7.

Lesson learned! But I love the skates, I love the wheels and am awaiting a different pair of Lollys to arrive in size 7 so I can see how comfortable those are. Once I know those fit well, I will most likely list these Clementine skates.

If you’re interested in purchasing skates of quality, Moxi Lolly is definitely the way to go. I highly recommend. Also, make sure you do your research on you proper foot size! Women’s size should be 1 to 1.

5 sizes down (ex: 8. 5 women’s =7 in Moxi Lolly). but measure your foot so you don’t make the same mistake I did!.

Skates weren’t bad, however, the customer service is terrible and showcased how little the company actually cares about the ones keeping it in business. For that reason alone I will never order another thing from this company or recommend it to anyone.

Thank God they couldn’t send another pair. All I wanted to do was exchange my skates & customer service decided to instead go back & forth with me through EMAIL, couldn’t even pick up the phone. Trust, I tried calling on multiple occasions and no one would answer and I got my call log to prove it.

Shop Moonlight Roller (Black Owned & Woman Owned) or Impala if you want great skates with a company that cares!.

The only thing I dislike about these skates are the toe stops and the laces (I mean for the price is it that hard to throw in some funky laces instead of just beige?), but I dont dislike those two things enough to drop the rating down a star.

These are really comfortable on my narrow feet, so I recommend them for people like me. I actually got these to replace a return that were too wide for my feet, these are definite much more comfortable! These are very good to put on and just go straight away.

Havent really had to adjust much either. I dont do any skate park stuff so cant review them for that purpose (I hear the nylon plate is not suitable?), but theyre super smooth for leisure skating. I also had really good customer service from the staff at skatescool returning the previously bought pair of different brand skates and exchanging them for these.

So if you have no choice but to buy online where you cant try anything on, then I do recommend them.

I purchased this skate as a total beginner that has never been on quads before. I used to skate on inlines as a kid, but nothing crazy. The boots on these skates broke on me just 20 days into skating on them.

I am a beginner, so I was using them perhaps 30 minutes to an hour daily to literally just practice mobility and moving around. The vinyl ripped at the heel on BOTH boots to expose the meshing underneath.

I can’t describe how unbelievably disappointed I was when these skates broke on me—for $100 these are absolutely NOT worth the price! The same exact problem happened to my friend who had her skates maybe a total of 30 days, also a beginner with no experience.

Look elsewhere for other affordable roller skates. There are lots of options that are just a bit higher in price but will last you MUCH longer and actually be worth the investment you put into them. Nothing is worse than feeling like you’re just starting to get the hang of things and then having to stop because your skates are broken.

I have since managed to purchase much higher quality skates and it is so apparent how quickly and cheaply the boots of these skates are made. Steer clear of Impala!.

These are quite possibly the worst skates ever made. I figure skated for 13 years. I took up roller skating two years ago. I’ve worn a lot of boots in my life. These are by far the worst boots I’ve ever put on my feet.

First of all, awful quality. The tongue is some weird foam that goes flat instantly. There’s zero arch support. They’re stiff and if laced like intended, don’t allow for any bending. I skipped the last eyelet and even after breaking them in, it was almost impossible to bend my ankle.

The worst part is, they’re incredibly narrow. I have narrow feet and they barely fit in. After any amount of skating and foot swelling, it becomes unbearably painful. If you can, save up for better quality skates.

Save yourself the pain and hassle.

What can I say. I have the impala inline skates and the strap even on the lowest setting was very painful on my legs. I wish Impala was more inclusive than this. Other than that, this is a great beginner skate.

They are Not super fast, so you can’t go speedily crashing into places. They are good enough for my needs. Message to impala: thicc women like to skate too. Inclusivity is wheres its at. I kinda wish it was a velcro strap even, or that maybe they’ll develop a soft boot style.

I want to love these skates, but this design for skinny women is very upsetting and disappointing. Why are full size women less deserving?.

Haven’t skated since I was a kid/teen, so wasn’t sure how these would work out for me. But I have been getting bored with my pandemic exercise program. I did a lot of research on sizing and indoor vs.

outdoor skates. With Target’s pricing and great return policy, I decided to try my luck with these skates. I sized up 1 from my regular shoe size and the fit is great. Boot seems to be good quality, and easy to adjust fit with the laces.

I skate in a parking lot several times a week and the wheels remain in good shape.

I Ended up with these skates because of the price and the fact they were in stock. I usually wear a size 9. 5 and ordered a size 9. Size wise they work well for me. The outside of the boot is very stiff which gives me great ankle support.

However there is no padding whatsoever in these boots. This is causing blisters on my inner ankle. Fortunately I have a narrow foot and ample room in the top of the boot. I have used small socks folded up to put between my ankle and skate to make them work until I get a better pair.

I have bought these skates like one year and a half ago, and I just love these skates they haven’t broken and I haven never had any issues with them if your going to get skates and you a beginner these are perfect ones to start with.

If you are wondering why I’m back on the site after one and a half years it’s because I’m planning on buying these skates again for my mother and I since my mother want some skates and I need new ones ( I have gone up 2 shoe sizes since I last got my skates).

So I would really recommend these skates.

I recently purchased the Marwa Rose Gold at the end of May, 2022 and returned them by the end of June. I absolutely loved, LOVED how they looked and was so excited to get them! I wanted to love these so bad but unfortunately, they were the most uncomfortable skates I had ever put on my feet.

I take skating lessons at the local rink and I would try to skate in them but after 10 min I had to take them off each time and get loaners from the skate counter. I did this on several occasions until my instructor said, “they are new, you’re gonna have to break them in” so he encouraged me to wear them during the lessons.

I tried, but it was complete torture. I was in so much pain it made skating so unenjoyable. I know it was the right size and all because I took them to a skate shop and I got fitted and measured just to make sure.

I asked the owner of the skate shop if he could maybe stretch the skate to provide more comfort because I thought maybe it’s because I’m flat footed. He explained that the Impala skate is more of a novelty skate.

They “Look” great but aren’t really made for comfort. He also explained that because of the material, the couldn’t really be stretched and that material was a rather “hard” material. Now, I don’t want to bash Impala AT ALL this is just MY experience.

I can honestly say I bought my 16 yr old daughter green and pink pair and they are fine on her feet! I did not send hers back. The return process for me was super simple and customer service was very nice.

I ended up getting a new brand of skates, Jackson Vista in purple and let me say TOTAL DIFFERENCE! The level of cushion and comfort is indescribable! I could sleep in those skates!!! I couldn’t wait to try them on the rink floor and immediately total difference! And yes they are exact same size as the impalas.

Yes, these skates are so pretty!! The colors are sooo versatile. They are lavender with rose gold plate, lavender toe stopper, and the flowers are periwinkle, hot pink, green, orange, Fushia, purple, yellow and blue/teal.

You can set these up in so many ways! I am a beginner skater learning how to skate for the first time and purchased these in December 2021. These are my first pair of owned skates, so I have nothing to compare them to.

They were super stiff when I first put them on, but I am getting used to them, and I hope that the material will continue to get more flexible over time. I wear a size 9 shoe and ordered a M7/W9. I believe these fit perfectly from what I can tell.

The boot was not too tight or too big on my foot. As a beginner skater, and after a full month of daily outside and inside skating, they have not let me down. My favorite part about these skates is that they do offer a lot of ankle support.

I cannot stress that enough. I think these skates have saved my ankles due to me having a dominant right leg. I’m always on that right ankle (darn it) and when I notice the extra strain, I am grateful I have these skates to support it.

The wheels are super pretty, but they do get foggy, and you can no longer see the design. I’m going to call Impala to see if I can purchase another set of these clear wheels. With that being said, the wheels are a good hybrid wheel.

I skate inside and outside, and I feel that the wheels have adequate grip and slip for the speeds I’m comfortable skating at. I will eventually upgrade my wheels to a harder grade, but these are fine for now.

I would love to see Impala upgrade their skate options (suede) and with an adjustable toe stopper. Overall, I would recommend the Impala brand.

One of the best training roller skate models around. The “tractor” design with large rear wheels and smaller front wheels help stabilize the child when skating and make it very easy to turn. The low, wide heel brakes help “catch” the child before they fall backwards.

The adjustable sizing and snap straps hold the feet in well. I have purchased these skates for my two children and two nieces (ages 3-6), and all have learned to skate well with them extremely quickly (my daughter learned in less than an hour).

They have fallen when learning, but no one has smacked down hard to the point of injury like kids do in regular skates. A well designed product. Highly recommend.

These are adorable and too cute to boot! Haha. all puns intended. My little girls love their Strawberry Shortcake roller skates!(tgats what they call them). I had been looking for a pair for a while and i kept looking at Amazon at a pair that were almost double the price at 39.

99. Then the item I was looking at went out of stock in the size that I needed so I put it off and kept hunting for the right pair. Especially if I’m gonna pay 40$ for a skate that may or may not fit very long.

That’s when I found these at Walmart. com, They are adjustable as well, which is great as they grow. I had also been to several Walmarts in my area that didn’t have any skates in store so I was happy to see that these were in stock at a different nearby Walmart for pickup.

It was quick and easy and I was able to get another pair for my 2 year old! No complaints so far, They have two sturdy plastic almost zip tie like straps to hold their feet in place and seems to be good ankle support too.

I hope they will last for the duration of adjustments. Great value and a good buy!.

I bought these to put in my daughters Easter basket and she loves them! She’s been wearing them every day since. I really like the adjustable sizing feature so she can use them for awhile. The strawberries are perfect because it’s one of her favorite foods.

Reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake. For reference she’s a size 11 and I bought the size medium. She’s wearing the smallest setting.

My 11yo daughter and I both bought a pair of these skates a out a month ago. In that time wheels and trucks have randomly fallen off while skating. The plate is made of plastic and mine snapped. Reading some reviews of these it sounds like these are common occurrences.

We are both at healthy weights and weren’t trying to do any crazy tricks. Just rolling around a rink. Stay safe out there and think about looking at a different pair of skates!.

I’m new to skating and these are a great find a good price for beginners. The toe stop is definitely cheaply made and it wears quick The first few times I used them the plastic on the toe stop peeled off, it seems to be easily to replace them but I have yet to do it.

The boot itself feels comfortable for me although I got a size bigger than my shoe size only because that’s all the store had, they had a size smaller and a size bigger so I went for the bigger one and it’s no big deal.

The quality of the boot seems to hold up, I did have to adjust the wheels to be able to turn better after a few times of using them, they come very tight which can be a good thing for beginner skaters so you don’t fall all the time.

Also don’t forget safety equipment, helmet, knee and elbow pads, and wrist pads.

These are good beginner outdoor skates and they will hold up for years. I will buy a upgraded pair for the rink with different wheels. You don’t have to do this but I want to just grab and go without changing the wheels for different landscapes.

She absolutely loves them. They are very cool and I’m very impressed how strog and sturdy they are.

I wanted to get alittle more active over Summer with my 8 year old son so we decided to take up roller skating. I haven’t done it since I was a child so was nervous about it but these skates are comfy, easy to put on and take off and they glide well but not so much that I am slipping everywhere.

They look lovely and I am looking forward to getting my wear out of them and discovering a new hobby.

They are super comfortable and easy to put on. Easy to learn how to do new tricks on such as spins etc. Really really pretty. However wouldn’t recommend using on outside grounds that aren’t somewhat smooth because it doesn’t really glide and easy to fall.

As I’ve gotten older, the inline skates make me more and more nervous about an accident but I don’t feel that hesitation with these at all. You can adjust the size on these skates up to 4 sizes! I think this is awesome if you wear thicker/thinner socks or you want to share use amongst your family.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. I have a lot of memories of going to the roller skating rink when I was in grade school. We took many school trips there and I used to love to skate! It’s been about 20 years since I have roller skated, but I was so excited for when these skates arrived.

They are easy to adjust by turning a tab in the back. It only took a few minutes to get them laced up and put on. I may have fallen a few times in my living room, but the wheels roll great and when I shimmied across the room by holding the couch, they gave a smooth ride.

My 16 year old has also tried them and adjusted them to fit her larger feet. If she continues to use them, I may just buy a second pair so we can both try skating together. I probably won’t be ready to hit the roller rink anytime soon, but I’m having fun trying to stay on my feet and this pair of skates seems pretty durable!.

I bought other skates and the boots and wheels were bigger and heavier. They were wearing me. BUT THESE are soooo smooth and light. I ordered online and they looked to small when I took them out of the box but after I tried them on they were perfect.

Light and the toe shape is my natural so no squeezing toes. I wear size 9 women’s so ordered size 7 men’s. With thin ankle socks and boots tied securely it was fine and I’m happy. I can’t remember if there are half sizes but I’d get a size 7.

5 if I could exchange easily but I can live with my 7s. I got what I ordered and I’m excited to break them in.

Perfect sizing, i used EU sizing after rwading the reviews that they will be a little roomy making them extra comfy. Im gona look soo good at the skatepark. These look like sneakers on wheels

I bought this a month ago and I am glad I did. It is so comfortable, as shown on the website, perfect size.

I was a little unsure about buying these as the reviews online were a bit mixed, but I decided to take a chance and hope for the best. I’m so glad I did! These arrived in perfect condition and the colour is so cute! They’re surprisingly comfortable and are really sturdy and well built.

Be warned about customs fees if you’re ordering internationally though, as I had a small additional fee (about $30) to get them across the Canadian border. These fit great and I’m having so much fun learning to use them!.

I ordered a pair of these skates after having measured my feet and carefully following the size guide. Unfortunately, when I received them they were much too small. Even more unfortunately though, in order to return them I have to pay another $20 just for a return label! Considering that I have already paid almost $100 for the skates and $30 for shipping, this is is ridiculous and I am now $50 out.

I was willing to pay $30 for shipping, but NOT $20 for a piece of paper for a mistake that wasn’t mine. I will not being do business here again. I would recommend that you do not either because being taken advantaged of is not a good feeling.

Crazy cute! My feet are about 230mm or a bit smaller so I initially ordered a size 3. Unfortunately, they were a bit too tight so I returned them and got a size 4 instead. Sometimes I wear 2 thick socks to feel more secure, but a size 4 is perfect.

If you’re a beginner, just know you’re going to scrape and beat them up pretty bad. Mine are already a total mess :(.

This is a great skate for beginners. I read other reviews before buying that stated the skate ran a little small so I bought my 2 year old (shoe size 8) the small size J10-13, and my 5 year old (shoe size 12) the medium size 1-4.

We are very happy with the quality of the skates and they also fit well. They are very easy to get on/off and adjust. Weve used them indoor at a skating rink and outdoor on our sidewalk. Im glad the boys will be able to use these for a few years as well! Id definitely recommend this skate to others!!!.

Zulily vendors continues to post inaccurate sizes. I brought this for my grandson birthday cause he said he wanted skates. My daughter didn’t have him try them on until his birthday, which was recent, cause they were a surprise gift.

I ordered medium size 1-4 but apparently they sent J10-J13.

I love these Chicago starter sets. Ive used them for both my children as training sets. Now that they’ve outgrown them, Im purchasing a diff brand of skate. As a beginner skate this is great, once your child learns and advances theyll need a higher quality skate.

I gift these sets as birthday gifts. Makes for a great gift.

Very spacious & easy to carry, has the strap grips for stroller & strap for around the waste plus more. Love Love Love the bag! My only complaint would be the color of the bag. it is not white it’s off white giving it a slightly dirty look in my opinion & from the picture it looks black & white but it’s not So don’t purchase if your looking for black & white!!! Great little machine, a little hard to get used to at first but easy once you get the hang of it. Only gripe I have is that the primer pocket reamers should have been included. Do like having onboard storage, makes it easy to not lose items.

Also like that I can lay it horizontal, vertical or angled as needed. Overall well built. Should give years of service.

Skates look fab, well made and more importantly fit like a glove, I have very wide feet, I ordered my true size and they are perfect. Not tried them out yet. I think they’re fantastic for a first time purchase of quad skates.

Still breaking them in , but for the price so far so good. Did upgrade the wheels and bearings but overall no issues to report.
