15 Best Outdoor Solar Garage Lights (2022 Updated)

Lights up the steps nicely!. We used these for outdoor steps coming down the side of our lot. There were 24 steps. We did the altering method of putting one on the right side of one step and the next step the light went on the left side.

It illuminates the area nicely for walking down the steps at night. The lights were easy to install, and came with all of the appropriate hardware required. We were mounting them on wood. Also easy to remove to change batteries in the future.

Small, bright, easy to install:I decided to buy this set because it’s big enough to go around the whole house and the backyard. They’re very easy to install and I put them on fenceposts and walls around my property.

Now, I can see where my dogs are when I let them out at night. I installed all of them within an hour and let them charge in the full sun all day. That same night, they were ready to go! Very bright and don’t take up much room!.

Great lighting!!. Very pleased with these solar lights. The range is more than adequate and the sensitivity is perfect! I originally purchased these lights to light the way for my elderly dog to see when she goes out to go walk.

I was impressed with the coverage that I’ve also placed them above my shed and above where my car is parked. We love them!.

They solved a huge problem for me in an outside area where I don’t have electric available. Solar lights are great, but only if you have the right placement conditions-the solar panel obviously needs direct sunlight.

These are great because I could clip them on to my gutter, and they illuminate a dark pathway (pointing downwards). The motion sensor is unbelievable. I can be across the driveway, which is about 50 feet away, and they light up.

The light is super bright. I would buy them again in a heartbeat.

I have been impressed with the ability of these to maintain their charge with solar power, sometimes even without having full sun available during the day. Also, the detection options are very handy.

I appreciate the way these can clip to something — we use them on the front and rear of our RV to keep critters away from underneath at night. Because they are solar-powered and motion-activated, it’s basically set and forget and they do their job.

If there was anything I could change, it would be the selector button. You have to press several times to get to the setting you want. I had a different type of light similar to this once that had a sliding switch so you knew at a glance what the current setting was (and particularly if they were set to “off.

“) Now, I just have to remember how many times I’ve pressed the button to get the settings I want. It’s a minor thing though, and not worth knocking a star off.

I have had a set of two from my first package for a couple months now. They are at my chicken pens and I’m using the mode where it is constant dim and then brightens on motion sensing. They are plenty bright when they are bright, and when they are dim they are a gentle light.

They are dead reliable and right now it is 4am and they are still out there glowing dimly (and dim because that is the mode they’re on- at this hour nothing is triggering them to be bright). Where they are is well exposed to the sun all day so they have plenty of power to make it through the night.

I don’t even think about them, they’re just there and they do their thing and I LOVE that. I am SO impressed with them and they are so convenient and easy that I just bought 4 more packages to cover 2 runs of pens.

one is 100 ft long, the other is about half that. I’ll have them every 20 ft or so with one on the corners as well- that’s about the area that they light well in each direction and that should provide plenty enough light to navigate and see any predators that might come.

Pro’s: Very easy to install, very bright when using high setting, visually appealing Con’s: Despite being south facing and getting sun constantly, the lantern is functionally useless during the fall/winter when the sun is lower on the horizon because it doesn’t get enough light to maintain things, even using the ‘Low’ setting, throughout the long nights.

On the sunniest winter days I will be lucky if the lantern is still lit at 4am the next morning – since sunrise isn’t until about 7am, that’s not really helpful. If there was some way to delay when it turned on, so that instead of turning on at 5pm it didn’t turn on until 9pm so that I would have light in the early mornings when I need it, that would be nice.

Also since it’s incapable of lasting the full winter nights being charged solely by the panels attached to the lantern, it would be nice if there was some way of providing additional charging, such as a port where an additional solar panel could be connected to increase the amount of charge going to the battery.

Unit is solidly constructed, easy to install. However–light is supposed to last for 12 hours on a full charge; mine doesn’t make it through the night. 7 or 8 hours max. Also, it needs full sun to charge; unlike other solar lamps, cloudy sun or overcast daylight doesn’t charge it at all.

Unit is stylish, but would not buy it again.

Truly happy with post light it is more than I expected. The delivery time was excellent packaging was excellent so easy im 70 years old and had installed myself only needed a screwdriver. Didn’t expect it to light first night because weather was cloomy cloudy and to my surprise it was great on low setting was bright enough.

Extremely happy and recommended to my friends and adult children.

Ok, some of the spacer pin were not tight so they came off. Poor quality control. 5/16 bit is what you need but it took 3 tries before I found the right one. This is something that you should have done for the consumer.

As much as these are you would expect better information.

Purchased 2 of these for my patio. They are well made and stay straight with the anchor that is included. Easy to put together. The area doesn’t get a lot of sun in the winter so once in a while I unscrew the top and place in the sun for a better charge.

This is very easy to do. They will be perfect when the sun moves in the spring and I get a full day of sun. I like the light they give to the entrance of the patio.

Excellent solar light! Looks attractive, well built, puts off great warm white light, and stays lit all night long! It was very easy to install. I have it set to the lower setting and it is plenty bright for our use.

When I ordered the lights, they only had the stainless steel version. Now they have black, too! I would have ordered the black ones if they had them at the time. We are ordering more because we like them so much.

I purchased two of the Techko Solar Clear Panel Portable Hanging Lantern, Amber or White Lights thinking that going by the reviews and cost point that these would really be much better made than the less expensive one’s you see advertised at your big box stores that don’t ever hold up for any amount of time, NOT THE CASE!!! We’ve had these now for going on just two months and the parts, screws and rivets are already starting to rust! The (not so clear) lens’s are made of thin plastic and is getting more opaque looking with time! The slide switch looks to be identical to the all the other cheaper landscape lighting that everyone has purchased at one time and knows that they don’t last anytime, lol It just seems that for the price they could build a better product! We love the looks and the ability to change from white to amber but.

for the price for two two fixtures that will doubtfully last a year I just can’t leave more that a two star rating! I, do not recommend this product!.

I love this Techko Solar LED Portable Hanging Lantern. This lantern has the option of using amber or white light. The fact that it’s solar makes me love this lantern even more. I am using this lantern inside on a hearth for its beautiful appearance.

I have a very bright living area that gets tons of sunlight during the day, it keeps my lantern fully charged. Knowing that this lantern will be ready to use for just ambient lighting or in case of a power outage is a great feeling.

It’s easy to use and is very durable. This lantern can be hung on a cane or placed in a special place for you to enjoy. I think you too will agree, that this is a lovely lantern to have in or around your home.

The Techko Solar LED lantern was an amazing buy! We recently installed a pergola in our backyard and were thinking on a wired illuminating center piece. However this lantern just made it so easy, all we did was hang and you are good to go! No wires, no routine, it was simply effortless.

We love this so much, we bought for different areas of the backyard; it really adds a touch of class to the whole place! Perfect for yard, big or small.

We ordered these to cover a passageway between our house and garage. They have performed brilliantly. The motion sensor works well and there is more than enough light to see at night. I was concerned that the light sensor might turn the lights on during an overcast day but this hasn’t been an issue.

The “keyhole” mounting is very convenient because just by adding two screws to anywhere you might need light, the fixtures can easily be relocated temporarily. We are going to be ordering some more to cover other areas of our yard.

The last and maybe most important item is my wife of 45 years loves these lights. Happy wife. Happy life!.

Discrete lighting units that almost disappear when installed. We painted ours the same color as our gutter and installed with 3m two sided outdoor tape and they seem to be firmly locked in position. We put up 5 lights along of our house where the exterior gate accesses our side yard.

Lights up the walkway as you progress along side of the house. Since they are mounted on the gutter lip the solar panel has access to the sun year round. If they last a few years I will be very happy!.

Difficult to mount and dismount with two screws. the bright light mode doesn’t stay on long enough, I have others that stay bright for 30 seconds where these barely make 10 seconds before turning dim.

Like them very much except for the above items! The dim mode is a nice feature that most of these kind of lights do not have.

Buying this solar street light is one of the best decisions I have ever made. It was very easy to set up and gives so much light once nightfalls. We have a random pole in our backyard. I believe it used to hold a clothesline at one point but ee no longer use it.

It worked as the perfect base for this street light. My favorite part of solar is as long as you choose a sunny location the light will shine faithfully every night. They are maintenance free and require no additional effort but provide hours of light.

Our backyard gets so dark and I have a dog. We had a few instances with animals like bunnies and possums coming in the yard and My pup would chase them when she went out. Since having this light I havent noticed and wild animals which is great as I dont want my pup to hurt anything or vice versa.

The light comes in a few pieces but is pretty easy to put together and install. I am not very mechanically inclined and I was able to do it in about 20 minutes. The directions are clear and they include all the hardware needed to get this light up and shining.

I am very happy with it! Would absolutely recommend.

Now mind you I have not yet seen how well they work for me through the winter. However I have had a notoriously strange spring, summer, early fall. They have made it through two wind storms one hurricane and a awful lot of rain.

They have a great charge cycle and will charge even in overcast conditions. A full day of sun keeps them running more than a few nights. Their mounting hardware is sturdy and are packed already with several mounting methods.

I have the first two I purchased mounted for my out-buildings, we loose power frequently and running any power for them from the generators can push my gennie to it top load which runs down the fuel.

These two have convinced me to order more.

I needed a way to add lights at the back of my yard to be able to see my dogs at night when they go out, without having to run electricity all the way out there. These lights were exactly what I was looking for.

The two of them together light up the yard perfectly. The biggest problem I had was finding a pole to mount them to. The manufacturer recommends a height of at least 16 feet. Finding a pole that high turned out to be impossible locally, and ordering one online was way too expensive.

I ended up settling on a 10 foot threaded pipe. I figured if 10 feet wasn t high enough, I could add another 5 or 10 ft pipe. 10 ft turned out to work fine for me and what I wanted. I did have to modify the brackets and use some U-bolts since the pipe was too small in diameter for the bracket.

The lights themselves are plenty bright enough, and so far have worked all night on the dusk til dawn setting (Auto). I ll update if the lights fail or if any changes.

I love my lights. They are solid and stay bright all night long even though they are solar lights that are in the shade the last part of the day. One of the lights we received did not work. I gave it 6 days of sun light.

Took one of the working batteries to try in it but no luck. Decks direct responded within 24 hours to my emailed concerns and with 7 days I had a brand new light that is now shining bright. I will definitely be looking to them if I need anything in the future.

I purchased 8 of these lights to mount on top of 6″x6″ deck posts for our cabin in Colorado. The installation was very simply and took about 5 minutes for each light. They add simple elegance to the deck at night.

They charged very quickly and turned on the very first night and stayed on until morning. When we are not there, they can be turned off to save the battery. We really love them!.

I ordered 4 and 3 of them work awesome. Love the design and the fact they don’t go off when head lights shine on them. One does not work at all. I’m going to try changing the rechargeable battery

I absolutely love this solar lantern! I got it to use on my patio and it looks very beautiful and modern. They are easy to set up and use. I love that you can use the amber or white light settings which is very versatile.

These lights were ordered and arrived quickly and ready to install, once installed they provided plenty of lighting to rear and front of property. Awesome looking hands free operation therefore i’ve decided to purchase one more in the near future and the dusk to dawn is perfect for my needs.

Really like the light . . The bolt for adjusting the angle of the light is not an everyday tool a person would normally have. !

This is something I wish I had not ordered, very small. Looks like something is missing on the bottom. These are plastic, one of the metal rings on the top is bent. Also, they will not light up. This was a waste of money!.

Super easy to install and looks great. One didn’t work when got it. Had to replace.

I love the look of this solar light. Its very large, actually much bigger than I imagined it would be but I like the size. It was easy to set it up and I like that I can change it from Amber lighting to white lighting.

BUT it’s really more of a decoration piece because it barely lights up at all. I have it placed where it gets direct sun all throughout the day but still barely gives off any light at night. I had hoped to have a light source for my dogs when they are at the back of my yard but the tiny amount of light this gives off does absolutely nothing to solve that problem.

This is a nice light. It’s very nice looking and easy to use. Just put it up, it can be used on top of a pillar or can be attached to a wall. It charges during the day and stay lit up nice and bright all night.

It adds a nice amount of light in an area that we don’t have power to. It can also be used as white or be changed over an used as an amber light.

This is a great solar light. I love that I can switch between the colors depending on the look I am going for. It’s heavy enough to just place on a table but I do think a good wind could knock it over.

The only thing I didn’t like is that I wish it would go on top of a pillar rather than having to be screwed on to the side. I don’t think it looks as good like that.

I ordered this solar post base mount light on 26th April 2022 and received it as expected with a battery installed. However when I put it in position outdoors (switched off to charge) it did not charge at all.

After being in sunshine for 2-3 days not a glimmer of light when I switch it on. Very disappointed. Awaiting your response.

We have had these previously so that in itself is a recommendation. Earlier ones did have problems, 1 leaked water and rechargeable batteries didn’t last as long as we were expecting. We have given them another try though because they are easy to assemble and operate and are flexible in their use.

Husband put lamp together, said it was good, it did have two bumps on the pole, but doesn’t impact on strength, the lights don’t hold its charge overnight unless there is good sunlight prior. Looks good quality.

These solar spotlights were packaged nicely and were very easy to put together. I positioned them in my yard to highlights two flowering trees. As soon as the sun goes down, they shine a spectrum of red, blue and green colors.

I will change the colors to a solid one after the holiday has passed. So far, I am very happy with the product.

These colorful spot lights are great. The intensity of the lighs is good and they work as they should, sun down to dusk. Mine have been under the sun and rain and are working perfectly. My husband wants to buy more.
