20 Best Outdoor Solar Rock Lights (2022 Updated)

Unlike typical solar lights that have NO motion, one of the many things I love about these Home Zone Security Decorative Solar Path Lights is that it has an option of having a rotating light that creates movement when the lights are illuminated against the crackled glass.

The other option for operating the lights is having the lights on continuously, but I more prefer the rotating light feature. The lights themselves are 8 lumens each (they come in a 2-pack), so just the right amount to illuminate a walkway/path.

I put the lights in my front yard where they received the optimum 8 hours of sunlight for a full charge, and I had no issues with them illuminating my walkway through the night. The lights each do contain a 1.

2V AA 600mAH Ni-MH rechargable battery that does need to be replaced when it no longer holds a charge. The lights were easy to install and set-up with the spikes at the end of each light. Not that I plan on using it, the lights come with a standard 6 month warranty and a 1 year extended warranty after registration of the product.

It’s nice when a company backs their product up with a no hassle warranty. Will definitely be purchasing more to further illuminate my walkway.

These solar path lights are incredible. Right out of the box I knew they were going to be good, they are extremely well built (heavy). The design of the glass is beautiful(cracked design) and very thick.

They came already charged, just had to screw to cap off to flip it to the “ON” position. Love that they have rechargeable batteries. These light give off a nice glow at night. I like the color they give off, not the yellow dim but also not a super white, just a nice cool white.

I’m super happy with these solar lights and will be adding more!!.

I have had the lamp for about three weeks and thus far it has failed to function. I do not know if the problem is insufficient sunlight or a malfunction of the unit. I live in the Chicago area. Most days have been partly cloudy but there have been a few days with bright sunlight.

The unit is in the open but at this time of the year it gets a southern exposure for six hours and half the cells do not get direct sunlight. Gama Sonic should be more specific with details regarding location and time of year to obtain proper function.

I absolutely love this lamp. It has an on/off switch with a dim/ bright light on it also. I keep it on the low end because its plenty bright enough. Its replacing an old lamp that was damaged in a storm.

Very easy to attach and also can be wall mounted. I highly recommend this company as they were very quick and efficient in sending it out and the lamp is exactly what I expected. May order a second to replace my porch light.

This is a beautiful lamp and functions perfectly. It comes on a dusk and stays on until the following morning. Even when the day was cloudy, the lamp came on that night. Very impressed with the appearance and how efficiently it works.

Highly recommend. This is the second one I have purchased. One for the front of house and one for the backyard.

Saburr Tooth is cheaper in cost than Kutzall And I like the way it cuts better than Kutzall I recommend Saburr Tooth over any grinding burr

These are great solar lights – perfect to mount on any outdoor area that needs illumination. Very bright!

I purchased 2 of Royal Solar Lamp Wall Mount in March of this year. I didn’t have them installed instill July of this year. I didn’t check the 2 boxes that was delivered to me had ALL the PARTS. I trusted the company.

Well to my surprise parts were missing. On the outside of the box you can clearly see the lamp with a light blub and a finial displayed on the outside of box. When we finished mounting lamp to the side of the garage.

There NO LIGHT BLUBS ARE FINIALS IN EITHER BOXS. I tried call the telephone number on the receipt. Just a recording, I emailed the company for my MISSING PARTS. PLEASE SEND THESE MISSING I LISTED ABOVE.

I PAID to much money to have these parts MISSSING. Send parts as soon as possible. Thank you.

I will be the first to admit I am very critical and detail oriented, but the quality and performance of these lamps have far exceeded my expectations. Having shopped around at numerous sources and outlets these lamps were hands down the very best.

Similar, but not of the same quality, many of the competitors at twice the price point weren’t close to the performance of this product. Superior quality coupled with high performance best describes this outstanding lamp/product.

I was replacing an outdoor post light because of a short in the wiring. This item was easy to install, and works well, but does not produce enough light nor does it last the entire light. If the sun does not shine (i.

e. , cloudy) it barely comes on. If this is used in combination with other lighting it will be great. Not so, it you need to safely light a walk way.

I was very impressed with how the Swivel Disk Lights turned out looking great on my front lawn. It was super easy to install. Where we live it is very hot and the ground was dry. My husband started in morning lightly spraying the front yard with the hose to moistened the soil.

Where we live it always sunny and hot. He then began to dig up about 2 inches circular on the ground at the side of our driveway. My husband made sure to have the holes directly place where the sun will directly hit the panels.

He then placed each of them inside. When it was dark, we can see the beautiful lights shining on the ground. I really like the finished look, and it my yard look nice! I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review.

I have loads of solar lights around our property and these are by far my favorite. I really like the flat design. And the lights are super bright, but not glaringly so. The stands for putting them into the ground are not the most durable and must be put into very soft ground or they will break.

I however have been placing them flat on the ground without the stands. They came with eight lights and I have a few in front of my house and some on the steps of the pool deck. They are all in direct sunlight during the day.

They stay light for the duration of the night. The lights do swivel if you use them with the included stands which is nice if you want to showcase a certain area. Very nice solar lights that really light up the night!.

These Swivel Disk light are, first of all, solar which makes them ideal to line our front walk way. They are low profile, lay flat to the ground, and my husband is able to mow over them without issue.

They were a little difficult to get into the ground because the stake portion is not very sharp, I had to pre-stab the ground with a knife to ease the way. The swivel is only one way (side to side), so you have to make sure you install them in the direction you want them to point, which took me a second to figure out, but once I did install was a little smoother.

They came on immediately without charging for hours like some other solar lights require and seem to be alot bright than the lights we have on our address sign at the end of the drive. Overall, I would definitely recommend these light for landscapers and homeowners alike.

Great product!.

Oddly bulged along the post where the parts join. “Glass” around the light is plastic so it will weather and degrade over a few years. The entire assembly is plastic. For over $200 we should have gotten metal for the post and actual glass for the lamp.

Received this solar light about 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it. My pole light in front of my house needed new wiring, so instead of getting it rewired I ordered this solar light. This light is really bright and works perfect, it goes on at night and stays on till morning.

I have the light on the winter selection and it says it is dimmer on this setting, so I can’t wait to see the summer setting it will really light up the yard. I would definitely recommend this light to anyone its as bright as my neighbors electric pole light.

I love the fact that I can put a lamp next to my driveway without hiring an electrician and running electric under ground. The screw in auger feature made it easy. However, the pole on this model is cheep.

I made an incorrect assumption that this would be an aluminum pole. Instead it is a series of short (18″) plastic segments which screw together. It will definitely wobble quite a bit if bumped, or on a windy day.

These lights are really nice when lit up and even when they aren’t. About the size of my palm and 4 of them. The fact that they are solar powered is great. Just set them out and they are ready to go.

One of the disks won’t stay lit up. I would tap it and it would come on for a bit and then dim. I dunno if it’s faulty or what but the others didn’t have this issue. We’ll see how long they last but for now we enjoy the pink glow.

These mosaic lights are very pretty and unique. They really make my garden look fancy and give it a nice glow at night. They are solar powered so that’s a plus. Nothing to plug in and charge all the time.

The spikes that go into the ground are included. Really enjoy these lights!.

These Moaic disk lights look great in my garage. They are pink and light up pretty bright. They are also solar powered which is a great feature. They charge up by the sun and lightup throughout the night.

I will be purchasing more for my driveway.

The Square Disk Path Lights Deluxe by Bell + Howell have a good look and style going for them on the face of it. They are very light in weight. One can chose to hang them on a nail/post or use a spike (included) to stand them up at a location of your choice.

Usage is pretty simple and straightforward. As the instructions indicate, they need to be in full sunlight for atleast 8 hours before you can use them. About a day or two in sun should get it ready. There is a small sliding switch on the back to turn them on.

Once charged, the lights will autmatically turn off during the day and come on during the night without any action needed. Do not expect the lights to be strong as a flood light or an outdoor 60W bulb type.

They are adequate to define boundaries where they are installed. IMO, they can be installed for decorative purpose or for defining pathway, fence, etc. boundaries. Do not expect them to light up the backyard or pathways by themselves alone.

You will be disappointed if that is your expectation. The design is nice that the product will fit in with whatever surroundings you want to install in. They will fit in just fine and now stand out or feel out of place.

While the finish looks good, I am not sure about its durability in Texas summer heat and sprinkler hitting it regularly. They may very well handle it fine but you need to keep that in mind. The one great thing I like about it is that you can replace the rechargeable NiMH batteries if the installed one lose their ability to hold charge.

This technically should give the product unlimited life as long as the rechargeable batteries are replaced. Nice design, easy to install, location flexibility, option to replace rechargeable batteries – all of this makes for a product that you can put to good use.

These are really nice solar lights. I must admit my first time using solar lights. So that being said I’m extremely pleased. They are very easy to install with easy instructions. I do really like the effect that the LED lights give off.

They’re really quite bright. Quality is good as size is perfect for my landscape. Overall I’m very happy.

Got these Bell + Howell 8 LED Square Disk Lights to illuminate the path to my garage as it very is dark at night. These are very lightweight so easy to hang from the fence near my garage with a single screw.

They charged very well the first day I got them, even though it was a slightly cloudy day. The LED light output is really strong which is great and last about 6-8 hours depending on the charge.

These little lights are amazing! They have a warm yellow light that was perfect to accent my backyard landscape. I pointed the light on a few of my larger trees to act light a spotlight and at night it really makes them pop.

They blend in well with neutral landscape colors and are about the size of a softball. I would highly recommend if you need a little more light on a walkway or for your landscape.

Bought these to illuminate my front walkway and was pleasantly surprised! They are very bright and cast a lovely glow on the walkway. I liked them so much I bought two more sets for my side and back deck stairs….

Perfect! The only negative is that you need to remove them before you mow the lawn and they don’t do well if stepped on: otherwise very nice lighting.

These are so convenient and easy to use! For outdoor lighting, these provide a nice amount of lighting for your yard. They are water resistant and also rust resistant so when it rains it does not harm them.

Very pleased with these and love how they make our yard even prettier.

These are really cute solar lights that have a stone type look and keep a decent charge for most of the night(mine are lasting about six and a half hours before the they need recharged). They come with ground stakes to keep them in place or you can just set them wherever without the stakes.

I’m using them along my sidewalk just for aesthetics and they light up the path partially and not overly bright which I like very much because they won’t attract insects. I’m very pleased with their quality, even though, I had to mess around a bit with one to get it to light the first time but it’s working fine now and I think it was just from dust that blew onto it while charging them outside.

I recommend them and will definitely look for more to line my entire sidewalk.

I heard these 8-piece solar lights were being discontinued, so I picked up a set to have on hand (my 3rd set). I ended up putting them all up, after all! We love them. We mounted them on every-other main fence post that surrounds our property (a 2-acre corner plot), and they look magnificent at night.

The original set came with 4 color options: blue, green, white, pink, so we select different light options every 3 months (with the changing seasons and green / blue during Football for the Seahawks – yay).

We get complements all the time! The only reason I gave this set 4 stars is because the manufacturer changed the 4th color to red instead of pink, as in the previous version = Big Mistake! The pink is a beautiful option, and that first set lines the entire front of our home.

However, the red light on this set looks too much like a stop light or emergency vehicle – ugh. I think they were aiming for a Christmas theme, but it failed in my opinion (and took away the most appealing pink color).

The blue and green (plus white) are good, though, since we rotated these new ones with the ones we already had. Please don’t stop selling these! But, of course, get rid of the red option and bring back pink! The glass and metal have lasted MANY YEARS (8 years, I think, maybe more).

We clean them and change the rechargeable batteries each summer like clockwork and they continue to shine bright each night!.

I ordered a bronze set 6 or 7 years ago that are finally wearing out. Last year I ordered a black set (the bronze was sold out) to replace the the non-working lights. We did some landscaping in the fall & hubby wanted more of these lights since they have worked very well for us so I just ordered another black set.

The lights are in the back of the house which faces east & the front of the house which faces west with no trees shading them. These lights on a bright sunny day are still lit at 3am. On a cloudy day they still light up but not as bright nor as long.

They are solar after all. While I like the light pattern of the old bronze set better, the pattern on this set is still very nice. Highly recommend – as long as these are like last years.

I have 20 of these lights and they only lasted two years. I replaced the batteries and they are not functioning after one month. It says they are solar batteries which I have not been able to find. This was a $160.

00 plus investment and I now have no lights that are working. I should know better to ever buy anything that is made by Energizer. I won’t even buy their batteries for anything around my home. Duracell is the only way to go.

i will contact QVC as to how to get a replacement or a refund on these horrible quality lights. If they are not meant for the desert climate then tell us in advance.

Nice bright light that lasts all night long. I didn’t want a spotlight, just something to light the driveway area in the pitch black woods that I live in. I mounted mine on Gama Sonic cast aluminum lamp posts (DP55F0) that come in four screw-together pieces.

I bolted the posts down to flat 20″ x 20″ concrete stepping stones to keep them from blowing over in high winds. Very solid and nice looking. They appear to be very high quality, and the screw-in LED bulb and batteries are easily replaceable.

This should last a very long time. The only potential issue is that the solar panel on the top is not glass. I’ve had cheaper solar lights in the past where this type of plastic material hazes over after a few years.

Time will tell if it’s the same, but I’m extremely happy with the style and light output of these lights. They shine bright all night long, until sunrise. I bought two to start with, and will likely buy a few more.

Was so happy when I received this. It looks even nicer than the picture. It’s made very nice and looks great outside our front door. It shines brighter than I thought it would. Have gotten many nice compliments.

I wanted outdoor solar lights that didn’t give off typical LED harsh bright light. These “stained glass” lights do that very well, and look quite charming when illuminated. In fact, what I thought was going to be imitation “stained glass” (aka plastic) actually turned out to be real glass and grout, wow! However, after a couple of rainy days, I noticed that two out of the six lights I purchased do not illuminate any longer, and this is within a week of putting them in the yard.

I checked them out, made sure the switch was in the “on” position and the caps were on tight, and made sure they get plenty of daylight where they are located, but still do not light at all, not even a twinkle, alas.

Disappointing that a beautiful product like these (when working) have such cheapo electronics in them. I hope the remaining four stay lit for a long time to come. I’ll give them 3 stars only because they look so nice when working.

It’s actually 5 stars for beauty, one star for electronics quality.

They are pretty much like standard solar lights, but the reason i changed is because of these Tiffany lamp like design. I really think they are quite nice. Not sure what to do when the battery does die (standard issue with these outside lights).

So far so good. I’ve only had them for a week. I wish they were just a tad brighter. They do work all nite unless it’s a very cloudy the day before and they don’t get a good charge. The colored glass is much prettier than just white lights.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. The product is small about the size of a cantaloupe and design well enough to fit in many spaces as a natural looking rock. The solar panel top where it absorbs light seems to be the only unnatural looking part of it.

When I transitioned it from inside to outside it appear the light turned off after testing it seems to know when the sun is out and when it is dark , a cop feature which means you can leave it on and it adjust for daylight.

After about ten minutes in the sun and switching the bottom switch from off to on it powered right up with a green light, inside it looks like it get the job done I have not been able to test it at night as it is daylight at the moment but places it under my bed and it lit up Green like a Jurassic park color, very bright like you don’t want to stare directly into it but it also doesn’t just shine white it shines green and is adjustable meaning you can rotate the ratio of where the light spots with out adjusting orientation of rock.

I received product reimbursement in exchange for my honest review. The lights are bigger than I expected and heavier than I expected, which is good because they won’t be easily disturbed. I like how the lights themselves rotate in any direction.

The rock look makes them blend in to the landscape very well. I also love the fact that you can choose between warm light or green. They are bright. And have a wide rage. You can light up trees really well with it.

The only complaint was one of them arrived with missing paint, I was able to fill it in with a marker. Overall very pleased with these lights.

They were super easy to switch on and get solar charging going, and once they turned on, they were bright and really pretty shining on my house.

They came on at dusk and turned off in the morning light. I will say they are a little pricey, but they’re really pretty and work well so far, so I’m willing to overlook that due to the high quality of the product.

May 26, 2017 Update I wrote the original review before observing the lights installed outside around the house. I’m reducing my review from 5 to 3 stars. The reason is these lights are particularly dim.

I had to search for each light because they are so dim rather than my eyes being drawn to them. I realize dim lights tend to stay on longer but I don’t care. If the lights come on at dusk and last 2 to 4 hours they’ve done their job.

I don’t need them to stay on longer. So I prefer brighter lights. Original Review: In my experience lights such as these last about two years. I can extend their life by replacing batteries but eventually they just deteriorate in the sun.

No problem, I just buy inexpensive lights like these and expect to toss them after they fail. My first warning about these is that they are quite small compared to many others I have purchased. I didn’t pay attention to the dimensions but in the end I don’t care if they are tall or not so no big deal.

My only desire is the lights would have a pointed end to insert them in soil. But these have a blunt end. I had to make a hole first with something else, then insert these lights. When I tried to push the first light in the garden soil it broke under the pressure of my hand.

In the end it is fun to have 20 lightsfor this low price, they all work, and I really appreciate them being powered with standard size AA NiCad batteries so they can be inexpensively replaced when needed.

Some lights came with non-working batteries and had to be replaced right away. They are low priced. I gave them five stars, not based on quality but rather on value.

6-8 months after putting these in the ground and 5 white colored LED lights all failed. All 5 white LEDs have the same issue. I turned the on/off switch again and again for each. The LEDs stay on for 1 second and then the light goes off on each of them.

Identical failure of 5 lights around the same time fully charged tells me this is a design flaw in the wiring. I have $1 cheap LED lights that have lasted over 1-2 years. I expect all 24 lights to die the same way eventually.

Not built to last unfortunately and only a 30 day warranty. Ill just rearrange them until they all die then buy something thats better quality.

there are no instructions. the lights only change colors. if they can be left on a specific color I couldn’t figure out how to make them any specific color. In the rotation of colors white never shows up.

I would want them to be white most of the time. I don’t know how to make them white. other time I would like to make them all red and green or white, green and white for different holidays or occasions.

a sheet with instructions would make them usable I think they would look strange all changing colors in a garden or along the side of the driveway.

I love these lights. I love that you can change them from color to white and they also have rechargeable batteries that can be replaced making them last longer. The light patterns are beautiful.

Its not big in size but its pretty at night the colors are bright hopefully these last us more than a year

Time will tell how long they last but I got them yesterday and they got a few hours of daylight but no actual sun because of where I put them and the sun doesn’t shine there late in the day. When it got dark they came on and were still on at 3am.

I’m really pleasantly surprised by how bright they are for their size!I will probably get more for lining my driveway. The 2 sets I purchased 4 lights total are for my garden area in front of my house.

They light up my flowers as well as shine enough to provide indirect light my front steps. Supper happy I took a chance on these!.

These are dual purpose. they look beautiful aesthetically and works well in the night. They might appear heavy and bulky but they are not. My kid even dropped it and they are still intact so pretty sturdy.

Very convent to places around the garden area. They have a photocell which turns them on automatically as It gets dark in the evening. The batteries won’t recharge during the day from the sunshine. You can place them wherever you please without any additional installation.

One is dimmer then the other but my yard is pretty shady. Love the way they look. Lots of compliments.

I ordered the 4 packet, they were easy to install and bright at night 2 were installed in my drive way and 2 in my walk way. Easy for me to drive into and out of my garage at night with the two bright lights shining on both side of the drive way.

My visitors love them too. In my driveway there is space for 2 cars for my visitors. My visitors commented (the ladies commented that the lights were great because with their high heel shoes they could see where they were walking to the other two lights in my walk way all the way to my front door.
