20 Best Outdoor Speakers For Projector (2022 Updated)

I bought this speaker 5 years ago as a high school student just trying to find the cheapest thing on the market. It was a $30 speaker, so I didn’t have high expectations. Let me tell you, that speaker has blown me away with its performance! To this day it still works perfectly fine! The sound is crisp; the bass is good for its size.

Now, there are more expensive speakers that have much better sound than this one does, but the quality that I get considering the price is unparalleled to any other that I have owned. If you are looking for lots of bass, you’ll need to spend more money so keep looking.

If you are looking for a sturdy speaker that you can bring with you where ever you go (and not worry about breaking it), then this is the one!.

I purchased this speaker a few years ago and it still works perfectly. It holds a charge for long periods when not in use. Are there better sounding portable speakers? Not at this price. My son has one too, he is a UPS driver and has a different truck every day so this is a excellent option without breaking the bank.

I left a review on Amazon when I bought mine and the company sent me a free carrying case that allows you to clip it to your belt while walking.

This beats JBL hands down for a fraction of the price ($39). This model is the angle 3 ultra. Excellent play time on a single charge (8+) Easy connect and play bluetooth. Volume is better than most speakers it’s size.

My video is at 3/4 of the highest volume. On the fence? Just go for it you really won’t be sorry.

Loved this for the first few days but once it ran out of the charge it came with, it wouldn’t take a charge from the cable it came with. I tried a couple other charging cables I had but they didn’t work either.

I tried plugging it into several different outlets and even a computer tower. Nothing worked. I already threw away the box so I can’t return it. Very disappointed. Too bad because it sounded great before it stopped working.

Wow am I amazed at this product! Now I am not the type of person who listens to music/radio through speakers because I think that they can be a hassle to deal with – they are either too big or too heavy to move/carry around.

This OontZ Angle solo speaker really changed my mind about that. I love how easy it is to set this up. I also love that you can easily carry it around wherever you want to take it. There is a small lanyard that comes with it and so you can hold it in your hands while listening through the speaker.

I also like the design of this speaker. I love that you can connect this with smart home systems such as Amazon Echo, with your laptop or even with your phone. No wire is required to connect it, you just use the Bluetooth to wirelessly connect it.

It is honestly so simple and easy to use. The best thing that I like about this speaker is that it is wireless, and it has battery that is rechargeable. Don’t assume that just because it’s small, it won’t be good for a big party because it can get loud too.

There are buttons to increase or decrease the volume. It came at a perfect timing for the holidays. This speaker is lightweight, simple but powerful. I highly recommend this to everyone and especially those who are into music.

don’t buy this product, if I could give you 0 star I would. this product sounds like really good at first, I played certain songs that I like, heavy metal. the speaker hollowed out, it couldn’t perform certain deep base sound so it was cancelled out with a whistling echo.

Ok I said what do you expect for 18 bucks. I watch movies on my phone and sounds better with an external speaker that I can put behind me, 3 months I had it and it wouldn’t hold a charge. It won’t charge and now I have nothing, buying a bose next time.

This speaker is so nice i bought two and was not disappointed at all. The stereo sound is GREAT! I use these when sound needs to be low also. They are LITERALLY TANK PROOF. Look these up on You Tube to see them get ran over and survive with scratches.

Best speaker made hands down! They sound so good i use them all the time. I’ve had these speakers for a year now and they still sound and look and work PERFECT. A++ QUALITY. I wish you guys sold the NEWER VERSION OF THESE.

They look AWESOME TOO ! Might have to buy elsewhere to get them??. But these are SOLID. You won’t be disappointed at all with these, DEFINATLY get two!!.

Disappointed. Price went up compared to previous model, but not as useful. – Packaging makes it seem cheap. – Speaker no longer fits old mounting brackets & no alternatives provided. – I liked the voice notice on battery life: now I have to count flashing lights.

– Haven’t been able to verify battery life, but advertised rate seems to be less than it was. – I find it difficult to identify +/- as black buttons. Better when they were silver. I do like the removeable cover for the USB and Mic jacks.

The speaker works nicely, but I think the changes made (to cut costs?) are not worth while.

I’ve had my Fugoo speaker for with the tough and sport cases for three months now and I’ve been quite happy with it. Besides the first week the though case has been on it the whole time. My speaker has been with me hiking through the smokey mountains, hot tub relaxing with the float, beach, boating, in my office, even used it during a presentation and it’s handled all of it.

The battery it more than enough unless you plan to play constant music all day which a portable cellphone charger can help since it works while being charged. The sound quality it excellent with a great amount of base for it’s size which was important to me.

There is only four things I would like to see changed in future generations of this speaker but are far from deal breakers. First would be adding the ability to bluetooth contact to my MacBook or any laptop.

This unit is designed to be adaptive from outdoor adventure to modern indoor style but I have to use aux cord for a laptop. The reason for the aux cord might be the cause of the audio delay I notice while using bluetooth with my phone.

The second place to upgrade is slight crackling while listening to podcasts or talk shows at max volume. I must immediately say I’ve never heard any distortion while listening to music at any volume, only podcasts specifically at max volume.

The third upgrade would be the microphone. It works great if I’m at the speaker to push to activate Siri but if I’m walking around while on a call or the speaker is across the room and I activate Siri at my phone it won’t show the same good performance.

The fourth thing would be the ability to turn off the voice or sound effects you hear while turning it on/off, plugging in an aux cord or bluetooth connecting. This is completely personal preference but I would like the ability to enable or disable it for quieter indoor applications.

These are things that could really set this speaker even further apart from the rest of the bluetooth speakers but don’t make it bad. This is truly a great unit, I honestly use it on a daily to bi-daily bases and it’s handled all of it.

It took me a while to find a 2 speaker bluetooth system, that was powered by 110v. This is exactly what I was looking for to supply music/sound underneath my gazebo roof (see photo). BestBuy rep told me there was no such system out there, except for investing $$$$ into outdoor sonos system.

guess they were wrong. If your looking for a semi less expensive setup for an outdoor sound system, these speakers are certainly worth looking into.

I’ve tried several different “outdoor” speakers with composite housings. All that I’ve tried so far sound terrible. Not only lack any real bass but they generally sound terrible. I believe the composite housing contributes to an over production of midrange and lack of bass.

These speakers do not suffer from this situation even though they are also a composite housing. The sound is far more balanced and “normal”. I’d say the sound is very good. They could definitely benefit from more at the lowest end.

That said, they are not unpleasant and perfectly acceptable. One thing different about these compared to other outdoor composite housing speakers is that they have some weight to them. It makes them definitely feel higher quality.

I’d say if I could I’d give them 4 and 1/2 stars. They are just a little lacking at the lowest end to justify 5 stars but they are some of the best outdoor speakers I’ve heard. There may be better out there but likely not at this price.

Add in self amplification and built in bluetooth and they become a great option for your outdoor sound.

I hooked them up yesterday. They actually sound better than I thought. Good base and clear sound. Given the prior reviews I did run a bead of silicon on the bottom where the cord plugs into the base to help with moisture issues.

Also, I decided to set them in a concrete paver instead of the ground to keep moisture out. Overall very pleased with the quality of the sound and the build quality (after two days). Fingers crossed that they hold up.

Upgraded from the smaller size and these sound much better for my outdoor area. Last pair lasted about 8 years before rusting out. Good value

These are exactly what you expect. Good basic outdoor speakers. I wish the wire was a little longer to make connection a little easier, but otherwise, I have two sets and both sound good.

Sound quality is unbelievable for a small speaker. Designed well and adds that special touch to your back yard. Nice relaxing music!

If you don’t want to pay for an overpriced speaker (JBL, Beats, Sony,Philips) then buy this one. Very loud for size, decent bass and some of the best app features to change the sound. Took this on a few kayak trips and it handled a few splashes well.

I use this as my truck speaker. Drive a 92 single cab Chevy and refuse to rip the old ones out. I feel like if this one breaks in the next year or two I’ll just purchase another one. Like I said this is my truck speaker so it is used daily.

This speaker has great sound. For the price and size, you can’t beat it. The only concern is that the woofers on the side are kinda exposed. It’s also not as loud as the Motion but makes up for it in sound quality and bass.

Overall I would recommend this speaker.

Best BASS under $100 period. Both the motion plus and motion boom are excellent speakers and for the price nothing comes close. If you love bass get the motion boom if you like mids and highs (vocals) buy the motion plus.

Why not buy 2 of 1 of them for less than 1 JBL charge 5 and really crush it!.

A little over a year ago I had my home theatre installation guy install these in the back patio. (In Phoenix. Yes, it gets HOT. ) There are two issues I have. First, I bought these because, well, Bose.

The sound quality is not what I expected. They are very “midrangey”. Almost no bottom end and a weak high end. The speakers are installed near the ceiling and close to a corner so I would expect this to amplify the bass.

Not so much. Second, after a little over a year the one speaker is damaged and plays distorted. It sounds like the voice coil is damaged in one of the drivers and so the sound is distorted. All of their stores are now closed because of the COVID panic, so I cannot take it back to a store for service.

I also apparently cannot simply buy a single speaker. Frankly I expected MUCH more from the Bose brand name. Its not like I overdrive the speakers either. The amplifier is 120 watts per channel of pure sound, and if I played it anywhere near that loud the neighbors would call the police.

(the VU meters on the amp hardly budge. ) That and my wife would give me “the look”. ;-).

The sound is really good and well balanced. I tried other brands but they either sounded harsh or hollow. The sound from Bose is not as loud as those of other brands but pleasant. The shape and size is also sharp looking.

Paired with a subwoofer, these would be perfect. Overall, happy with the purchase.

I have two pair that are in a covered outdoor room that is 16 x 20 in size. The 251’s use of two tweeters angled provides a wide sound field creating a great result for outdoor use. The sound is excellent even at low volume making it easy for my guests to both enjoy it and not have to talk over the music.

One pair is installed high in the corner surrounded by wood which amplifies the bass. The other pair is surrounded by just air. Where they are installed makes a big difference as my two pairs sound very different when isolated offering an obvious lesson in acoustics.

I use a pair of outdoor volume switches to balance them. I previously had them in another house where one pair were installed high covering a back yard and flooded a large area with sound. These speakers can play loud if need be.

My experience with them in three different locations gives me a unique perspective in recommending them and attesting to there versatility. Few outdoor speakers will provide satisfying bass but if you have a choice of where to install, using acoustic common sense can aid in improving the bass.

Mounted on wood vs. brick will change the sound, in corners vs open air. etc. This is true with all speaker installations. Speaker reviews are subjective based on personal preference and expectations.

These speakers are not bass monsters and their indirect tweeter array provides a wide sound that produces little fatigue. Auditioning any outdoor speaker outside of its actual installation is nearly a useless exercise.

This model has now been around at least 15 years and obviously has been a good seller for Bose. I can say over the 13 years I have owned them, these speakers are durable, versatile and lived up to expectations at the premium price.

Had to ty these on our gazebo. They work very well and easily connect via bluetooth to your device of choice. The volume is impressive, the bass is not all that, but I did not buy them to hold a concert.

I am looking to add another pair to our back yard and really make it come to life on back yard movie nights.

These speakers are not your concert experience style. Instead they give good clean sound for an outdoor environment. Easy to mount and position, they have provided well for us at a price much less than the box stores.

Now you can afford to surround your house or pavilion with music. We listen to all styles from rock to easy listening and these speakers handle the mustard.

I have both the smaller AW150W model and these are heads above them. They are much larger in size and so is the sound. We use them out at our pool and are in the blazing sun all day long. If I had to do it all over again I would have purchased two sets of the 350s.

These speakers sound great! I used (4) of these speakers with the Yamaha EMX-212S powered mixer. There was plenty of power and great sound coming out of these, considering the price. Also, these speakers are rated at 6 ohms and the mixer was rated at 4 ohms.

However, there were no issues hooking up and using 4 speakers at once. You do have to get 2 phone jack connectors and 2 Speakon connectors to hook up all 4 speakers to the Yamaha EMX-212S.

I purchased this to augment one of those nostalgic phono players, so mine is always plugged in but my battery light starts blinking after one album, so either mine is defective or the battery life on this isn’t as awesome as I was expecting after seeing the reviews.

As far as the sound quality, it has the classic rich, full sound of Bose and it is about a billion times better than the classic internal speakers that come with these all in one units but it isn’t a party speaker and the bass is consistent with a pool side, personal speaker.

Since mine is augmenting the less impressive speakers in my unit, I’m getting full stereo. The Bose fills in the tinny emptiness that the cheaper speakers have and, quite frankly, my little nostalgic player sounds like its hooked up to my main sound system.

Lots of depth, gets loud enough to inhibit conversation in the same room and no blur or crackle. The only give away is that the bass is a little weak. This speaker has a single input port so you can hardwire it.

It’s just the 3. 5 mm jack but that’s why I chose this unit, it will directly hook up to units that don’t have a bluetooth out capability. It’s super compact, so it hides away well if you are using it like I am and don’t like the look of shelves or walls filled with speakers.

Overall, I’m really happy with it. The directions are really awful. If you are using the line in, you have to switch the mode and the mode button is between the power button and the – (volume down) button.

You just click it quickly and it will light up. Once you choose that mode, if you turn it off in that mode, when you turn it back on, it’s still in that mode. You are better off using your gut to figure it out than using the really crummy instructions.

Overall, good speaker, compact, delivers a reasonable volume with Bose depth. I have no regrets but, even in Bose world, you get what you pay for. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars in this price range is because the battery life doesn’t impress me.

Well, at least it came with an aux cable – as my PC suggested some hissing sounds (why I returned a well reviewed different brand speaker on sale, it had an aux outlet, no cable included and I needed to try a new one).

The pros is the size and the battery life. The cons are relevant to my work, I needed a PC speaker with good voice quality and for watching videos , the Bose every time I leave the speaker, I have to manually push the initial start button – not sure how to get it out of hibernate but it’s the speaker not my PC.

Also, the bass is bass ‘always’ aparently, not sure why bass is so appealing when adverts say it’s a good feature, it gets muted at times, have to raise the volume. Also, the pairing took a little juggling but fine, from instructions it’s to be expected but I wish it didn’t require an aux cable, would be wifi proficient only – why I chose this model rather than the one level more expensive that reviewers said had no wifi capability only Bluetooth – maybe a customer service or I read inadequately somewhere but I thought it wouldn’t require bluetooth/aux cable to work with my PC, that wifi would be suffcient.

I don’t plan to use it portable, it’s a bit heavy for that in consideration of the wifi.

I have been wanting one of these little Bose speakers since I first saw them on HSN. I went to buy on HSN but the Aqua color was always sold out. When I saw it at Best Buy I decided to go for it and Buy it.

I was a bit skeptical on buying because I wasn’t sure it would work with my PC. I have a windows 11 HP PC and it worked straight out of the box with no problems. I was afraid the sound would be poor but this lil speaker works great.

When I first turned it on and heard speakers it sounded off but once I adjusted volume and got it set up the sound was great. I am able to keep it plugged in to my PC through the charging cable that came with the Bose speaker so my speaker stays on always.

It does turn off when my PC turns off and turns on automatically when I turn PC back on. You may need to manually turn the power off on your bose speaker which is easy to do. its the very first button on speaker.

If you don’t it will keep trying to turn on LOL.

I bought these NS-AW150 all weather Yamaha speakers to replace an earlier Yamaha model purchased originally in 1998! The speakers which are placed on our covered back porch allow us to enjoy music, mostly classical and jazz, throughout our home and complement Klipsch AR 4 and Prism speakers in our living room and study respectively.

The original speakers were good; these speakers are great. They were easy to install, attractive and, most importantly, offer wonderfully rich fidelity with rich base and crisp treble tones. One admonition is that these speakers are oriented 90 degrees from the original, so if you wish to focus your sound you will need to mount them such that they can be rotated left to right rather than up to down.

I’ve owned these speakers for about 2 weeks, and have probably used them half-a-dozen times. I replaced an old set of Boston Acoustic speakers with theses Yamaha’s. The sound quality is better than the speakers they are replacing; and mounting them under the eaves as recommended does seem to make a difference in the bass output (due to house roofline one got mounted near eaves, the other didn’t).

While I would recommend them to friends, I have two gripes: 1) the grille of one of the speakers has already fallen off and appears to only be held on by a couple of dabs of glue. While this obviously doesn’t effect performance, I am disappointed that I am going to have to make a cosmetic repair on what are essential brand new speakers.

2) the speakers only can rotate in one direction depending on the mounting. Mine are mounted with the greater dimension being the width, so therefore they can swivel left or right, but not up and down.

In my application (on an elevated deck), it would be nice to have both fields of movement, but for the price it’s hard to complain.

I purchased 2 pairs of these speakers to replace very old and poor quality ones used for music and a microphone system in the club house of our ice arena. That being said, they will be used only indoors and bought them mainly for the attachment system.

They are surprisingly heavy and seem well built. I think the design shape is a bit odd. They use a convex design curving away from the wall that leaves a large void in back. I mounted them horizontally, as I thought it looked better, but the screen logo does not change directions so it is tipped sideways, which is no big deal.

They install very easy and quickly either direction. They are connected to a 200 watt (100 x2) receiver. I am not a sound expert but am pleased with the results so far. Admittedly, our room has poor acoustics, but the speakers sound better at higher volumes.

They lack some bass at low volumes but crank it out well with higher levels. Overall I think they will serve our needs very well. They were competitively priced versus other speakers with woofers of this size and brand recognition.

I did 4 stars because I never rate anything as perfect. I would do 4. 5 if the option was there.

Replaced 15 year old niles speaker which was part of a four speaker setup at pool. Old speaker was damaged by lawnmower. Added new speaker and was amazed by the quality of sound compared to other existing speakers.

Dont know if age has degraded other speakers or the new one is that much better Probably repack all speakers next summer.

Great sound, integrates well with my landscaping, waterfalls, and rocks in the backyard. I have 4 stereo zones (3 sets of Niles RS6’s, one set of Niles under-eve speakers), and have hard-wired Niles controllers to micro-adjust field balances between them when desired.

Using a Denon AVR-X3100 WiFi receiver controlled from my smart phone anywhere on the property, a Crown CDi 1000 amp for zone 2 (outside). Simply awesome field of sound, simple smart phone control of source, volume, pause, etc.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND Niles!!!.

Sound output is good but not great for the price. I had two speakers by the pool and one blew in 2 1/2 years. I replaced with a different brand speaker (Klipsch) and the sound quality blows it away so I decided to replace the other one as well and use this speaker as a back up just in case I needed one.

To my knowledge, this is the only solar, Bluetooth speaker pair on the market right now. So with that being said, its a great value considering its limitations. Its limitations are Bluetooth distance and speaker to speaker distance.

ION claims that the speakers have a range distance of 30′. This might be true in a controlled testing environment – but for household use I would say limit the distance to 20′ to be on the safe side.

Bluetooth range is hit or miss. sometimes its up to 40′ and sometimes its 15′. I would say if you keep your Bluetooth device within 20′ as well you’ll be in good shape. Out of the box, the speakers needed to be charged for approximately 15 hours.

The directions don’t tell you what flashing Red lights mean when you first charge the speakers. I still don’t know what they mean to be honest other than the flashing red light means that the battery was completely dead/drained.

Which is why it took over 15 hours for a complete charge. A complete charge is done when the flashing red light or the solid red light has gone away. Installation was super easy and the construction of the speakers themselves is top quality.

I don’t believe there will be any issues with the speakers breaking. The speakers excel most when its turned up really loud. When loud, you can hear the bass much better. At lower volume levels the speakers sound very “tweeter-ish”.

All and all this was a great purchase and worth the value paid even with its limitations.

I’m more than happy ! I ordered my Ion Keystones from BJ’s after happening upon them in my local store. I’d been looking for some outdoor, Bluetooth speakers for years. The Keystone speakers got here really fast (ordered Friday arrived on Tuesday) and reading reviews in the usual places got me a bit edgy.

They took MUCH longer to charge than 8 hours, over 24. Leave them plugged in until the red light under the on switch turns blue. Seems I got a good pair ! BJ’s had stopped offering them for a while but they are back online again.

Maybe ION rectified the issues. If so, grab a pair while they last ! I’ve only charged them once more after the initial charge (simply because it was cloudy), leaving them out to charge in the sun. I’ll top them off once in a while – battery “memory” and all.

They’ve handled at least 3 inches of rain in what we in NH call “spring” with no effect on the sound. The remote even got drenched but still works. (Put it in a zip-lock. ) The stereo is great ! Experiment with placement.

They talk to you when on and connected. There is “Mrs. Right” and “Ms. Lefty”. with a total of 80 watts max and they get loud enough to hurt one’s ears. I thought the bass may be a bit lacking but then a bass heavy track came on and the bass was clear and loud, no distortion.

(I’ll have to test them with Morphine. ) My swing music, which ranges from muscular, Big Bad Voodoo Daddies, to all acoustic, Ronnie Arbo with Daisy Mayhem, Cocktail Swing, sounds great. It is not “inside” sound so take that into account with the 4″ speakers and 1″ tweeters.

4 ½ stars would be my rating. If the battery issues have been worked out it’s hard to beat these Ion Keystone’s, for the price, you can’t beat them. No more toting a boom box, speakers, and CD’s to the pool after my 1 hour, hot, hilly, bike commute home, just my phone, and my friends.

Messrs. Fosters, Molson, and Tecate be at the ready ! That’s right, Madame G&T, it’s you I’m winkin’ at.

I have been looking for some outdoor speakers for awhile have been discouraged my what I have seen. I didn’t want to have to deal with any wires and did not want to compromise sound quality. Well I found what I was looking for.

I can fill my backyard with real sound. They were easy to set up and aside from the usual quirks every so often one can expect with using a wireless signal they have been terrific. I have to admit I haven’t left them out overnight yet but they are so easy to take on and off the mount I really don’t mind.

The key is to fully charge these speakers right out of the box. Needless to say I am extremely satisfied.
