20 Best Outdoor Strain For Northeast (2022 Updated)

I am quite satisfied so far. After 3+ years of infestation and pulling and digging to get rid of the sedge I am starting to see results. I mowed 2 days ago, then we had a day of showers (I thought this might help the grass from being damaged), so I sprayed this directly onto my nutsedgey lawn to test/ spot treat the nutsedge.

The sedge is already golden-brown and dying while my bluegrass/fescue is still thriving. No damage even though I sprayed on a warm morning, the sunny high reached 88 degrees, and it is late in the season (early August).

They say it is better to spray in early spring. I hope I don’t have to do another round of treatment like most folks review this product, but I expect I will have to since it is so late in the season and we’ve been infested for years.

If spraying again means a future of no sedgy lawn, I am hooked and it is worth it. Could have been a bit cheaper, come in a larger bottle, or even a trigger that I don’t have to manually spray over and over again (my wrist hurts and I only sprayed a small section 2 feet by 10 feet).

I tried another product which advertises effective in killing nutsedge with results that it appeared to fertilize the nutsedge and other weeds it said it would kill. I tried ORTHO Nutsedge killer and it worked the first time with dying nutsedge within 24 hours! Within a week the active nutsedge was gone.

This hand sprayer bottle is great for outcropping of nutsedge, but not effective for large areas.

I have a small landscape design and installation business. I preen my clients 3 times, minimum. I am annoyed that you raised your product prices while using deceptive advertising on the size of container.

Prices went up 5. 00 per container yet each container weighs 1. 5 lbs less. Looks the same, thus being deceptive. I send out my yearly contracts in January with 3 rounds of preen. Each client now cost me more to preen since the average loss is 9 to 9.

5 lbs. Then 2 out of 6 containers had 2 scoops, thus SHORTING me more preen. 10 lbs minimum.

I previously bought Preen labeled “organic” and now find it is labeled “natural. ” I went online and found Preen is very toxic to birds, animals, and humans if we get it on our hands. Be careful spreading this product around unless you have no regard for the environment.

It is not that it doesn’t work, but the labeling is deceiving. BE AWARE.

This product I have used for years! Excellent results to control my enemy, Mr. Weed! Keeps the tomatoes clear and beautiful. and productive. Also excellent in my rose beds. Leave it, forget it. and enjoy your time not weeding!.

I recently got a bag of Scotts Turf Builder Rapid Grass-Bermudagrass for an area between my carport and my screen porch. I have had trouble growing grass in this area since we have lived here for over 25 years.

The reason we have had so much trouble is because we live in a low area below another home which has a lake. When we get a lot of rain, there overflow comes down toward our home and some of the rain water runs in between this area.

It is only affected with heavy rains but after my husband applied our Scotts Turf Builder Rapid Grass wouldn’t you know it we got a heavy rain days after and I believe this, along with a late frost, is what caused our experience with this product to fail.

We never get frost this late into the year and even this coming week we are supposed to get a couple more nights with frost. As soon as I know the threat of frost is COMPLETELY over, I will definitely be giving it another go around.

Scotts is an exceptional brand and we have used this in the past so I know how well it works. The thing I love about this product is that it contains both seed and fertilizer all in one and it is so easy to apply.

All you have to do is prep the area you are applying it to, in our case my husband had to first kill all of our weeds, then he tilled up the area and leveled it. After he applied Scotts Turf Builder Rapid Grass-Bermuda, with our Scotts Mini Spreader, he then watered it.

After a few days, we already began to see grass seedlings sprouting up but the heavy rain and frost ruined our success, but it won’t the next time we apply it in the coming weeks. I am so ready for some green Bermuda (and summer).

Early spring we noticed our front yard had more weeds coming up than previous years. We spent several days pulling weeds from our lawn and we were left with large bare spots of just dirt. Yikes! We decided to plant grass seed and see what happened! We tilled the areas and added additional topsoil to the bare areas.

We spread the Rapid Grass seed very heavily, in hopes that at least some of it would grow. I love that this package not only included grass seed but a fertilizer as well. This combo seemed like the best way to get our grass started.

We have been watering the seeded areas twice a day. Keeping the soil moist is definitely key to the grass growing success! And keeping the birds and squirrels away from the grass seed! I was impressed that after 5 days, we were able to see tiny little sprouts coming up! That seemed too quick as most people say it takes 2-3 weeks before seeing any signs of new grass.

After 2 weeks of watering, we have most of our bare spots filled in with grass blades about 2 inches! I am super impressed with Scotts Rapid Grass Tall Fescue Mix! We will be using this on our backyard project this week as well! Looking forward to having a summer with a beautiful grass for our family to enjoy!.

I bought these to replace traditional mulch on the path to my garden gate. I opened the box and pulled it out (it comes rolled) and it tore. Not off to a great start. I shoveled off the old mulch and laid them down(I bought two, wide path) hoping that laying flat would be sturdier(they are advertised as “permanent).

No, they are horrible. They ripped more as I was laying them down and if you stand on it and walk it rips. If you dig your toe in (like carpet) it rips. I don’t know if these are old stock and dry rotted or made wrong, but it’s a sin for Plow and Hearth to be selling these! Do not buy these!.

To be fair, we have our gardens amidst a very unruly “lawn”. We don’t invest in expensive grass upkeep and we don’t use any pesticides. 1)Therefore there are weeds growing straight out of this mulch mat.

It’s even worse than no mat because when I pull up the weeds, I can’t get the roots. 2) It falls apart easily when you handle it. 3) it’s expensive. It took 3 days for the burned rubber smell to dissipate, which would not be a big deal, if we were otherwise happy with the product.

This is by far the most regretable gardening purchase I have ever made. That’s saying a lot, as I’m 61 years old.

I used this where grass won’t grow. I have used mulch mat for 15 years. My only and biggest complaint, when I started using, it was back with a fabric weed barrier. IT WAS FABULOUS. I never had anything grow through it.

My first “expensive” round with this brand was ‘trashed’. I didn’t think about the missing fabric, and when I went to take it up and put fabric down first it tore up. Waste of money. Now I have learned – Put a double layer of really good weed fabric down first.

Hey MFG – this would be 5+ Stars and World Class if it had a really good weed barrier fabric backing!.

IšverstiShow in original languageWorks well. Great for killing weeds growing in the cracks of an interlock walkway. Tends to melt asphalt on an asphalt driveway, so there’s a fine line between torching the weeds and melting the asphalt.

Unfortunately it also kills ants and anything else in the area where the weeds are growing. Had to redo the interlock when weeds reappeared a few weeks later, otherwise very effective. Can use blue propane torch canisters (14 oz) or green camping propane canisters (16 oz), get whichever is cheaper (and available).

I had better luck with weed killer and spraying them. I will keep the torch and utilize it for other tasks.

IšverstiShow in original languageI recently bought this torch and am very happy with it. It quickly blasts weeds out of pea gravel walkways and between interlocking brick patio. The best part is I don’t have to bend over to yank the weeds out now! My aching back is grateful.

When I was 18 or 19 I lived in a house with a neglected lawn and for some reason decided to try this. Yard was full of clover, dandelions, and other weeds. Had large area bare spots of N. C. red clay around trees.

I put it down heavy just once and it killed off about every weed. Big patches of weeds became bare spots then the grass filled in and thickened, turned a nice darker green. Grass started spreading to the red dirt spots.

Neighbor across the road could tell a difference from her house a good distance back from the road away from ours and asked me “what did you do to your yard? It looks good”. I’d recommend putting it down a bit heavier than instructed if you have a serious weed problem as long as it won’t run into a creek or other water source.

Be ready to mow the yard because it will make your grass grow.

Have had good results with Scotts Crabgrass Preventer. Its finer texture seems to provide more even application compared to the larger granules in other brands. It claims to be “season-long” protection vs.

3-4 months as mentioned by some competitors. I just applied it a few days ago, so only time will tell if the current product works as well at preventing crabgrass as it has in the past for me. My frustration with the product solely lies with BJ’s.

I discovered that a special/reduced price on the website was only for online orders. In- store pricing was $5 higher. NO WHERE WAS THAT MENTIONED in the online posting. I had to place an online order, then return to do a store pickup.

I purchased it about a month ago. I sprayed the crabgrass and other broad-leaf weeds twice. I killed nothing. l sprayed the same weeds with Trimec Crabgrass Friday, July 29,2022. The crabgrass and broad-leaf weeds are wilting and showing that the Trimec Crabgrass is killing the crabgrass and other weeds.

Trimec contains 2. 13% Quinclorac ( active ingredient to kill crabgrass). Roundup Crabgrass contains only 0. 118% of Quinclorac. Trimec Crabgrass contains 0. 60% of Dicamba dimethylamine salt while Roundup Crabgrass contains only 0.

029%. It appears that Monsanto was more interested in making a cheaper more profitable product rather than a quality product that actually performs as stated on the label. I will take it back to Lowes and try to get my money back.

I had nurtured my lawn all spring with feeding and over-seeding which produced a beautiful thick green lawn in June -July 2021. Small sprouts of clover started to pop up here and there so I purchased the Roundup for lawns ready to use.

Read the application directions carefully and applied as directed to the clover locations. Within one week my lawn was ruined. The clover remained green and healthy while the grass was completely killed.

The bottle label says kills weeds not the grass. In lite of the extreme negative effect on the lawn I felt that affected soils required removal and replacement prior to restoring the vegetation. I contacted SMG Roundup and was repeatedly switched from one representative to another and each time asking the same questions and seeking the same information.

My request of SMG Roundup was for nothing more than to have the impacted soil removed and replaced with virgin topsoil and my lawn restored. Ultimately after a significant amount of time had passed I was handed of to a claims adjuster from a third party contractor whom did not present himself in a very professional manor if you know what I mean.

The adjuster advised I would be contacted with a resolution in short order. That was two weeks ago and no word and no returned phone calls from either SMG -Roundup or the contractor. I caution other consumers with regards to the use of Roundup for lawns ready to use.

This is my second attempt to review this product. My first review was moderated as they put it in their response.

I’m HAPPY with Gordon’s Speed Zone. Used 1 bottle in my 21 Gallon pull behind sprayer. Creeping Charlie was flowering purple, which I’ve been told is a must for weed killers to work. Two days later and it’s all turning brown.

As well as dandelions, clover, and other weeds.

Don’t waste your money on granular weed killers, spray applications is what gets the job done! Easy to apply also, just make sure no rain is expected and spray on a dry lawn. I did a lot of research online and got pointed towards this product.

Last year I used this on a hose attachment and covered the entire yard. Put down a second treatment on the really bad areas. One area that was really bad with ground ivy it is totally gone now. This year I am using it in a tank sprayer since a lot of the yard is cleaned up.

Sure enough 24hrs later I can see the ground ivy and some of the dandelions starting to die. I have covered almost the entire yard with spot treatments once and only used 4oz (filled my two gal sprayer twice).

I have these stubborn weeds in my yard that I have tried most everything on. I purchased the Speed Zone Weed killer and put down one application. Within a week the weeds have started to die. I definitely will need to apply a second application after two weeks, but I am very delighted with the results of the first application.

Will definitely purchase the product again when needed.

During the cold months, I keep my miniature Lemon Tree, miniature Lime Tree, Tahitian Gardenia, and Bougainvillea plants under grow lights. Unfortunately, this year the leaves started turning yellow and acid fertilizer was not helping.

My research suggested my plants lacked iron, but I was not able to find products with just iron or enough iron in local nurseries or housing centers. I was so grateful to find this product on the Walmart site.

I mixed the product as directed and applied it to my plants. It didn’t take long, after only one application, for the leaves to become green again. The product does work.

Love it, easy to use. Wished would have ordered more than 2 gallons. Will be ordering more today. Fertilized old pine trees.

Preen is great, it works fairly well, preventing weeds from sprouting-up. When using it, one must be sure to spread it all evenly; don’t be afraid to use lots of it. It’s always a great idea to spread the Preen down 1 or 2 days before a rainy-day, water activates the Preen…either by natural-rain, or by a water-hose.

I always rely on the rain, and it works-out for me. The Preen works for 3 months, preventing most all weeds, it does a great job. I highly recommend using this style of Preen. 1 of these full-unopened containers weighs 18 pounds.

Please see the 6 attached photos I provided for this review…I bought 2 of these containers. I highly recommend this product. Lastly, these containers afterwards can be used as storage buckets or for whatever…they are made of high-quality and recyclable plastics.

The Preen is shipped via Walmart-boxes with plenty of protective-packaging surrounding it. I was highly impressed with the shipping-and-handling of these 2 products, I bought 2.

This works pretty well, and isn’t scary to put on food crops. It’s a natural product made of corn and while it doesn’t prevent Weeds perfectly, it definitely makes an important difference and reduces the number and size of weeds, and seriously reduces the maintenance workload in my veggie garden.

I like to put it around established onions, beets, carrots, and beans – the things that are so hard to weed and hoe around.

Here it is, April all ready and I am starting to see small weeds starting to sprout in the flower beds. I’m trying out roundup weed barrier this year to stop the never ending weeds. First I removed all the little sprouts prior to spreading the weed barrier.

Very easy to use with the bottle spout. The directions include a very small picture, which is supposed to show what the density of the granules should look like on the ground, but it is very hard to see, much better if you look online to find a better image.

I left part of the bed untreated for a comparison in a few months. I’ll report back later on the barrier results.

I put this on my beds shortly after receiving. My beds contain river rock stone and grass prevention is critical. In April, Michigan had 23 days of periodic rain. Bottom line I still have more grass than desired but I don’t blame it on Weed Barrier.

We are due for a warmer dryer week coming up. I plan on pulling the sprouted grass then re-applying the Weed Barrier. Weed Barrier packaging makes application very easy. I’m confident this product will solve the grass in bed problem.

Very easy to spread out because it is granules and not a powder. This way you can see exactly where you are putting it. This is important because it not only kills weeds , it also kills grass. You need to be careful not to get it on your lawn accidentally.

Just have to rake it in a little and then water and you are all set for 8 months. I do this before I mulch this way you will never get any weeds coming thru your mulch. A great product that doesn’t cost very much and can last 8 months.

This is a real winner.

I love it. We had a bunch of trees pushed up & 800’ of ditch dug with the dirt making a levy. The initial spray, all that “very deep hard brush” & grass is still dead. What I go & spray about every 3 weeks is all that underneath that we can’t see growing through that levy of dirt.

The front ditch I’ve only sprayed 2x & it is 100% clear & water running. Those hard wood trash trees, I call gum ball, they grow anywhere a seed lands & the seeds are round looking solid green berry type about the size of “lemon drops”, roundup concentrate doesn’t even turn the leaves yellow & this RM43 kills it!! I agreed to let my mom buy me a thing of concentrate round up cause she swears by it, I put the exact amount of ounces for my 2 gallon sprayer.

One week later, our hard brush & thick weed grass actually grew instead of dying. I tried it once more with 14 oz to 2 gallons. Barely turned hard brush yellow, did kill little grass. I went & purchased our 2nd gallon of RM43 (I would buy the 2 1/2 gallon if it had a pump attachment to pump out the ounces you need cause I’m partially disabled & can not lift, pour & not waste out of that 2 1/2 gallon), made a total of 4 gallons, sprayed all 800’ of ditch, those trash trees that still have berry seeds buried in the ground, poison ivy, poison oak, weeds & thick brush along the back fence we are trying to cut.

Less than a week a later we went back out to the property & everything dead. Went out day before yesterday & still dead, no new things popping up yet. I don’t care what it is, nothing kills 100% to never ever grow back unless you pour full strength peroxide, bleach or some other haz mat chemical that is carried by 18 wheelers.

That will kill deep into the ground for years. Naturally, companies can not make chemicals that strong for general public use. This is just common sense.

I maintain 10 desert acres. The way out of weed takeover by July and I mean farm-like sections of weeds, is to pre emerge yearly! I have to be selective around vegetation and the house directly, but for the furthest areas around my property, I use an atv sprayer.

The first year preemerging, we got surflan southern weed killer, the second year we got TVC. I was worried about the TVC and was looking for something as effective but not as devastating. I saw a video for the RM43 and got it! It seems to have worked great and I like how it kills existing weeds as well! None of the other preemergants did that! I was even still spraying weeds with the leftover mix out of a sprayer.

It left NO Green!! I use Caseron for in and around vegetation and good ol picking them everywhere else every year. Unless I find something as good or better and less expensive, I’ll be buying the RM43 from here on out!.

We have 4 homes spread out over several acres of family property. I keep about 12 acres of the property mowed and cleared. That includes weed eating around each home, several outbuildings, and a very wide, long drainage ditch.

It has become too much for me over the last couple years, so we have using herbicide in place of most of the weed eating. I mixed this product at a rate of 2 quarts in a 25 gallon sprayer. We sprayed a little over 125 gallons of mix over 2 days.

It took about 4 days before we started noticing any effect, but within a week it was obviously working well. Now 2 weeks later the RM43 has killed everywhere we sprayed. As noted in the instructions, it will get into the root system and spread to surrounding plants whether you want it to or not.

Not a big deal to me but it might be to others. Don’t use it in areas you don’t want everything dead. It kills at least twice as much as you intend it to. I think the prices are ridiculous but if it lasts a full year, it will be worth it.

We have a small farm with a very long, and large, gravel driveway. We use this once a year to control grasses and weeds that grow in the gravel driveway as well as controlling grasses around our barn, under our trees, and on the sidewalks.

This also knocked out poison ivy in a few spots if applied thick enough. Combined with a Stihl backpack sprayer, we couldn’t be happier. For mixing, add water slowly as others have suggested. It will foam with fast water flow and can overspill if not careful.

When applying, we walk backwards and spray in front of us to prevent walking through the chemical. One bottle/container covers everything we need. We’ve applied annually for the last three years and have noticed less and less return growth.

Results are noticed in a few days.

I have used Roundup on my property for about the last 5 years. I like the product but there are major issues with material. When I bought my first container with a sprayer, it worked very well. I used it immediately after purchasing it from Home Depot.

The next year I still had the spray container, so I purchased the refill container and the material worked fine. I also needed more material and I bought the super concentrate so that I could mix my own material At the end of the summer I had used only half of the material, and so I kept the spray container with the product in it in my garage over the winter.

My garage doesn’t freeze, since it is attached to the house. The next spring, this year 2021, when I tried to use the sprayer, it didn’t work. I opened the container and found that the product had jelly lumps in it and therefore they were clogging the fine openings in the sprayer.

I cleaned the sprayer and screened the product. When I sprayed it on the walkway weeds nothing happened. The material had lost its potency. I read the labels on the containers carefully and found no mention of self life and also proper conditions for storage of the material.

So I bought another container of Roundup with a sprayer on it. The newly purchased product worked wonderfully. However, I needed more, so I made a new mixture from the Super Concentrate that I had purchased two years earlier.

When I used it, it did not work at all. So there is a self life to the super concentrate. That really troubled me, because the Super Concentrate cost about $73. 00 when I purchased it. So my questions are twofold: 1.

Why is there no statement on the containers that state there is a self life associated with the product; and 2. Why is there no expiration date printed on the container. This is really a lack of sensitivity to the residential customer.

I finally wet on the web and read a lot of reviews. The jelly effect isw known and posted on various sites, but the RoundUp website does not give one proper storage conditions. Further reading lead me to a statement several layers deep into the RoundUp website that the shelf life is 4 years.

That is a meaningless statement, since they do not give you the storage conditions used to develop that number. When a residential customer buys the product from a retail store, there is no indication as to how old the product is.

And for the residential user, that has stored the material along with other gardening materials, there is no way of knowing the effectiveness of this product. The labeling and instructions really need to be vastly improved.

As a final note, I have read many of the reviews posted here. People who use the product when it is potent, get excellent results. But other individuals present information that indicates that they have product that is past its shelf life and found that it does not work.

As a result the distribution in ratings is bimodal.

I bought the super concentrate at a local Ace store here in Nashville. I had previously used the concentrate plus with very good results but opted for this super concentrate because it was going to mix more product.

Well, after mixing according to label, 2. 5 fl. oz/1gal water, I made 6 gallons of this stuff and spent no less than a couple of hours spraying everything from grass, weeds and plants. It’s been over 48 hours and there’s not a single brown and/or withering plant or blade of grass.

I spent $20 more dollars to get this super concentrate over the concentrate plus and I guarantee you I will DEFINITELY not be buying this again.

I am new to micro green growing. My friend that I introduced to True Leaf, suggested that she ordered some for me to try. While I was waiting for us to open her packet I placed my second order to True Leaf.

My first goal in trying micro greens is to eat more veggies to see if it would help put the M. S. into remission. I ordered the Detroit Dark Red Beets micro greens seeds while I was waiting for us to plant what she had ordered at the same time.

So when my order arrived I already had the larger trays and I hit the “mat” planting that day my package arrived. I planted the Detroit Dark Red Beets on the 13th of this month, placed them on the plant heat mat and they were up on the 15th.

See photo that is attached. They have been under the plant light since the 15th. I did not plant to much in the trays because this is my first try at micro greens growing. I took a taste of two of the baby cotyledons.

Taste like a beet! I was pleasantly surprised! While I let them grow a few more days under the grow light I just planted my second two trays of the Detroit Dark Red Beets this afternoon. I have added the Detroit Dark Red Beets to my online catalog for purchasing next month.

I think I am now going to be eating more veggies! Laverna.

Maybe these are really easy to grow, I didn’t have that luck. They were very sparse and leggy. My bad!! I will read the growing instructions better next time! They are beautiful for sure! I have been using this grass seed for maybe 8 years. Its excellent for hot dry conditions like we get in Missouri. The roots go deep in the ground so you don’t have to water the grass much. Plus this grass spreads out if you have a place die on your yard.

Not good in the shade. But good in part sun to full sun. Its germinates fast. Easy to grow. Stays greener than other grass seeds all summer.

I seeded about a month ago and it looks great, which has been a bit surprising to me since we experienced an extreme heat wave — at least for Seattle — a week after seeding; quite a few very hot days after seeding, yet it still came up thick (in most areas) and healthy.

I would definitely buy this seed again, assuming it continues to do as well over the years.

Attempting to fill in bare spots and replace weedy spots with grass. I found it hard to get grass to sprout. I believe more tilling will help as this is a clay soil. Once established, it’s great. Requires little watering and is a lush green.

I tried this on a lark and boy was I surprised! It helped my yard become the envy of the neighborhood! Thick grass with very few weeds left (you can’t kill all the weeds). I put it on my lawn in the late spring and early fall and it has done wonderfully.

I’ve been looking for a weed and feed for my St. Augustine grass that really works well. I wasn’t very optimistic for this product. When I used it my lawn did a complete turn around for the better! Deep green color, great root growth, lasts for three months and my lawn is the best in the neighborhood.

Will be purchasing more in the near future.

Applied to Zoysia grass. Grass looks incredibly better in 24 hours. Wow. Totally impressed.

Am always amazed when a horribly designed product is being sold to consumers it is as if R&D people did not actual use it as intended. Box makes it appear pump handle will go vertical. It will not. Pump handle goes from horizontal to maybe 30° up from horizontal.

Handle is constantly in the way when carrying or storing. Haven’t even used it andam returning it because I can already tell it’s going to be a problem storing or when going between jobs.

I bought this brand new and only had it a year. Filled it up to go spray weeds and will not build pressure. Last year it worked like a charm. Any time I took it out to use no problems. Now the first time out this year nothing.

These pieces of equipment are not cheap and shouldn’t be breaking down after one year. I did landscaping for 27 years and maybe Went though 4 backpack sprayers.

Worked well the first 4 time I used it. Then it stopped building pressure. Called the number Round Up gives in response to bad reviews and they say it is not there product but licensed to the Fountainhead group and that I should call them.

Not a cheap sprayer and should last more than a few uses. Not put your name on it and offer a support number just to dump it off as “not your product. ” Shame on you.

My use case is a bit of a mixed bag but I will explain anyway in case it is useful. I had a bit of slope in my Mid-Atlantic suburban yard which I wanted to plant with native pollinators. A seed mix seemed a thrifty way to do that.

I decided to buy the Northeast and Southeast native wildflower seed blends, since the Mid-Atlantic is in between those two regions so at least some species should thrive here. I followed the directions, mixing the two blends 50:50, spread the seed last spring, and waited to see what showed.

In the first season of use, the first thing I saw was a lot of Partridge Pea, which makes sense since it’s one of the few annuals in the mix. Bees really loved it. It was planted right next to a butterfly bush and the bees had no interest in the bush, just the Partridge Pea – just covered in bees all summer.

Really beautiful yellow flower show. During mid-summer, that’s about all I saw, so I thought that was the only thing that took. Not so! By late summer, the PP was starting to flag, so I pulled it out (very shallowly rooted, so was dead easy to do).

Underneath, there were a bunch of perennials taking root. Coreopsis and tons of scarlet sage (that one’s from the Southeast mix), as well as some Indian Blanket. I am excited to see how it looks next year when the perennials come into bloom and have a bigger show.

Overall, I think this blend is good value for money. You get a lot of seed and the annuals put out some early color while the perennials get established. It’s not a quick return on investment – it will probably need a few years to fill in and some reseeding to get the full mix to show off.

Perhaps if spread more thinly over a wider area? So, I do recommend, but expect to get a few species taking front and center and the others needing some more dedicated care to take hold.

First Summer (2021): I had PARTRIDGE PEAS. A wall-to-wall carpet of them. And one (1) Indian Blanket which died of loneliness. I think that having these annuals come up the first year was The Plan, so things seemed to be OK.

Second Summer (2022): The Partridge Peas have come back (because they made SO MANY seeds (see photo of happy Peas). Plus I have one (1) Wild Bergamot and one (1) Sweet Black Eyed Susan and a LOT of something that I can’t identify and doesn’t show any signs of making flowers.

This plant clearly came from the seeds, because it is very thick and is no where else in my yard, but I don’t know what it is. Maybe someone could help to ID this plant? Will it ever get flowers? It is about 5′ tall; I’ve included a photo of the clump and a closeup of the top of one.

Help, please. What are these things? If they eventually get some flowers, then I’ll go up to 3 stars on this mix. But my overall feeling is that you want a lush garden, buy individual plants in pots and plan it out for success.

My husband and I planted the seeds this year in May, after preparing the soil as the instructions say, and voila 2 weeks later we started seeing little plants sprouting everywhere ! Now I see my little wildflower mound covered with dense growth about a foot tall, dotted with yellow flowers that make me happy every time I look out my window.

We diligently watered the area for about 6 weeks. Now I am eagerly looking forward to seeing the perennial ones in the mix bloom next year too, hopefully. Thanks American meadows for making high-quality seeds !.

When I saw this I had to have one. From the photos, it looks like a beautiful and dramatic creature that’ll really catch everyone’s eye! Even in winter, with those dark branches and thorns. It arrived safely and in good health.

As I expected, it is sort of spindly and stick-like, but it apparently fills out fast. The customer reviews say that, and I’ve found customer reviews on this site to be very helpful.

Waiting for the first fruit! Not sure how many years it takes for the tree to grow the first fruit. The trees are small, but in very good condition. I would like see the same good tree condition after the winter (it is very cold in NJ).

This request for feedback comes much too soon. In 5 years I will know much more, but now I know very little about this hardy orange tree.

I’ve only had the tree about 3 weeks so it’s too early to tell how it will do, but it arrived well packaged with no visible damage. I LOVE the shape of this tree and its twisty, thorny branches! I potted it upon arrival.

I haven’t noticed any signs of stress so I’m guessing it’s settling in just fine. I look forward to watching it grow and hopefully branch out and bear fruit!.

There appeared to be some kind of weed (seeds) in with the grass seed in this bag. A particular type of weed grew in about the same quantity as the new grass. At least it was green! I will pay up next time and get the best grass seed.

After receiving your grass seed to oversee the yard that the lawn service had put too much tiller on and killed the yard aerated the yard reseeding and the grass came up 7 to 10 days it looks nice and it will flourish love the product.
