20 Best Outlet Covers For Baby (2022 Updated)

I received the Dreambaby Dual Fit Plug and Electrical Outlet Covers to review for free for testing purposes. I currently have a 6month, and I’m in the process of child-proofing my home. In the past, I’ve purchased the little plastic outlet covers that just slide in the outlet.

I hadn’t heard of these covers before, until I received them for free to review. I’ve used the plug in covers in the past. I like how the plug in covers come in a big pack that allow you to protect many outlets in your home.

However, I do like Dreambaby’s design to shield the entire outlet with a cover. I think that is nice. But the pack I received only had 2 outlet covers. So, I was unable to do my entire home. I just focused on the living room and kitchen outlets that my baby could readily access.

I don’t care for the small package size from the Dreambaby design. I’ve used the basic outlet covers in the past, and I find those very easy to remove. I’ve had two babies previously, and I’ve never had a child be able to remove a basic outlet cover.

I had a bit of trouble taking off the Dreambaby outlet cover. Sometimes it’s easy for me to take off and plug something, and other times it’s such a struggle to remove the Dreambaby cover. I’m not sure if it’s just me or the product.

My 9 year old daughter can remove the Dreambaby cover easily, as well as my husband. I wouldn’t purchase the Dreambaby Dual Fit Plug and Electrical Outlet Covers. I like to receive a bigger pack size to be able to child-proof my entire home.

I don’t like how sometimes it’s easy for me to remove the cover, and other times it’s quite a battle. I do like the idea of an entire outlet cover and not just the plug-ins, but I believe Dreambaby might need to work on their concept a little more.

I am very glad I got to review this product free for testing purposes. Like I said, I have one installed in my living room and kitchen, but I believe I will use basic outlet protectors to do the rest of my home.

I thought the little plastic plugs would be enough to keep my baby safe until she started crawling to the speakers in our media room and trying to unplug them. These covers have been a great solution.

They were really easy to install and is a very solid product. The only negative is that the cover is more narrow than the previous fixture on the wall, so you can see where the previous cover was on the paint.

It should be a really easy fix, but I can’t seem to match the paint. Overall, the covers are great and will give me peace of mind knowing that my baby is safe.

I have a 15 month old who absolutely LOVES to play with outlets. He also has pulled out every single cover that we have tried up until now! we used the Dual Fit Plug covers in a spot he could not miss.

They worked wonderful!!! He was very intrigued by these but they did the job, and I was able to rest at ease that my son would not get electrocuted! The only thing I dislike is that they are very large and bulky looking.

Not the prettiest thing. It would be cool to make them a pattern almost like the warmers that you plug in the wall!! :).

Love these! They fit so tightly in my outlets that I can barely get them out so I don’t have to worry about my little one pulling them out accidentally. The word “bink” needs to be able to be read for full coverage of the outlet.

If it’s in upside down, I don’t feel like it offers complete protection.

As much as we don’t want to admit we want things like this to look good and not just clear basic plastic. These work effectively and have such a cute look to them with the colors. It is perfect for my baby girls nursery and around the whole home.

I will be buying more!.

The plug protectors do fit very snugly and take some effort to remove from the outlet. Perfect to protect little ones. The colours add a nice pop to the outlet and plastic is very solid, not flimsy or easy to get your nails under.

I was so excited to test out this product. Our toddler seems to have a fascination with the outlets so we’ve had to find ways to cover them. We’ve used those little clear plugs that go in the outlet but our toddler has figured out how to pull those out.

These outlet covers are an excellent alternative. They are really easy to install. If you can change an outlet cover, you can easily install these. They are a little hard to open at first but once you get the hang of it, they are quite easy to use.

My only problem with them is that they do stick out from the wall quite a bit so if you need to put them partially behind furniture or in a walkway, they could be cumbersome. Otherwise, this is a great option for babyproofing your home!.

I have seen first hand what an accident with an electric cord can do. My ex-mother in law had a young child in her home, an extension plug that was plugged into a wall outlet and no outlet covers. The child picked the cord up, and put it in his mouth.

It left a round black colored burn on one side of his mouth to the top of his lips and he needed plastic surgery to repair the mouth. Needless to say this was many years ago, but it was a preventable accident.

I now use these in home in every room with or without children in the house. These plug covers come highly recommended by me and in my opinion they are a necessary item for every new parent to have.

I couldn’t wait to try these out and put them to the test. I plugged them into the wall outlets easily and had my friends toddler come over. The best part, he didn’t notice them for the longest time.

Because they are clear plastic, they don’t draw attention to her son. Eventually, as many toddlers do, he found the outlet and never got access to them. He eventually gave up and moved on to play with his toys.

As an adult, they do pose a little challenge if you have short fingernails, but overall they do the job. For the price you pay, you get a lot of plugs and it’s worth every cent!.

I’ve been using these outlet plugs a couple weeks. I’ve used a few other brands and these are pretty good, comparatively. They aren’t big or bulky, and are shaped to the outlet, which makes it difficult for your child to remove them.

I have only had minimal difficulty taking them out to use the vacuum, but it’s not a struggle. Since they are clear, they aren’t as tacky as some of the other plugs out there, either. They work well and do their job.

They are too small for the outlets in my house, just fall right out and my toddler can easily remove them. I do like how clear they are, very unnoticeable from far away.

This item is great for many people I’m sure, but as a parent with young babies/toddlers running around this is GREAT! As we have been working from home for quite some time, I wish I got this before! It’s great for keeping little fingers away from dangerous outlets! Of course babies have a way of finding what they are not supposed to be playing with and it was a constant battle of trying to get her not to touch my power strip and unplug my lap top.

So thankful for this. Also, I feel like it makes the power strip look cleaner, since you no longer see a ton of cords plugged in.

This cover served its purpose in securing my electrical wiring. It is a strong and secure cover, but also very bulky. The cover is secure and not easily accessible. Although I appreciate that the cover is capable of being attached to a wall, it is visually not very appealing to do so.

It is so bulky that it would hang so far out on a wall and just be in the way. It cannot be placed behind your sofa or console without requiring an unusually large gap between the furniture and wall.

Overall, it works as intended, but is not visually appealing.

So far this product is working great for us. Our toddler was pulling out the outlet covers and putting them in his mouth. We needed another solution before he got shocked or choked on the other outlet covers.

He is still interested in them, but plays with them much less and hasn’t been able to put objects into the outlets. It was super easy to install them and it is very simple to plug the vacuum and other plugs into them.

I didn’t give it a 5/5 because I believe he might soon be able to figure out how to slide it so he can put objects into it. He is too smart for his own good. I don’t let him watch me plug things in. Hopefully by the time he figures it out he’ll be old enough to know better.

He is also able to unplug the vacuum or whatever is plugged in with ease. Which is frustratibg. We had to get a different type of outlet cover for more permanent cords like our lamps so he can’t unplug them.

Now that we’ve had them a while and they are old news, he leaves them alone. They are low profile and so much more aesthetically pleasing than the plug covers, and you don’t have to remember to put them back.

We found that when plastic inserts are left in place they work just fine. But when they are removed to plug something in, and then replaced after the plug is removed, they become loose and can be removed from the socket by curious toddlers with tiny hands.

The beauty of this plate cover is that the springs do not become loose and even our curious son seems (so far) unable to slide and access the sockets. Also, from a decorating perspective, the socket covers create a single streamline appearance.

When we bought the house there were white and beige sockets throughout the house. Using the cover plate eliminates that problem. The only drawback is that we were unable to buy double socket plates ( 4 sockets) on e-bay, and we had to go to an electrical supply store to find them.

There is no GFCI compatible cover, and that is just something we live with for now. It is a great product, and takes about 90 seconds to install.

They’re nice looking, and I do like that the sliding doors make the outlet accessible while still being childproof. However, the plate itself is very thick. I was able to install it, but there was too much distance between the wall and the outside of the plate, making it so that things weren’t able to connect well enough to circulate energy into the prongs.

Returned! If your sockets protrude a bit, you might be fine. Otherwise, stick with a standard plate.

I have a cat that likes to rub his cheeck on the outlets once inawhile (yes, cats are weird and this is how they mark things) and every time he did this it made me cringe worrying about him getting a shock.

These are a great solution, easy in and easy out if you need to use the wall outlet. There are a gazillion in a package, so you can use them all over the house. I wish they were more solid white vs. semi transparent, but they are attractive, sturdy and get the job done.

Good plugs, pretty straightforward. Can be hard to unplug if you need to use an outlet but I don’t consider it a bad thing since it has to withhold little curios hands. Plus I feel like you get use to them and develop a tactic for fastest easiest retrieval.

Would totally recommend.

So easy to use! So durable. Easy for an adult to pop out of the outlets but not so easy for kids! One pack was enough to fill all the floor-level outlets in our apartment.

I wish these came in a smaller pack as we only needed a few but 36 for $3 and change is affordable. Now I’ll ask my friends and family if they need any. These work great. I wanted to cover a few non-GFCI outlets near my pets’ food and water dishes just in case they splashed water while drinking.

The quality is good although they’re a mix between white and clear. not pure white as I had hoped they would be.

These are great! Comes with enough to cover all the plugs in our apartment. not that that’s necessary haha! They are thick and sturdy. I saw someone else say they overlap when two are used next to each other, but that doesn’t happen in our place.

With grand and great grandchildren, my home has to protect them from harm. One thing I insist on are outlet covers. So, I was very pleased to receive these Hyper Tough Outlet Safety Covers. These are very well made and strong enough to prevent small hands prying then loose! These are much sturdier and better made than others I have used.

Even outdoors, it gives me a measure of safety when children are outdoors. Easy to put in and extremely tough, I won’t need to worry about constant replacements. With 30 in the pack, my home is covered for the long haul! I can highly recommend them.

I had high hopes for these outlet covers because I love the fact that they’re clear rather than white. They were easy to put in and are more appealing than the white ones. However, these are not toddler friendly.

They’re easy to remove even for toddlers. If you are getting these just for general purposes then by all means, they’re great! If you’re in the market for covers that will keep your curious toddler safe these are not for you.

they come out way too easily, my 8 month old grabbed it right out and then was able to fit the entire piece in his mouth and started choking! I’ll take my chances with him poking something into the outlet vs him choking on these covers.

I no longer have babies to worry about around my house, but I do have curious toddlers that like to explore. I am so happy with these outlet protectors as they work great and sit in the outlet perfectly where little hands and fingers cannot grab them out.

They are very sturdy and I have them installed in every room, in almost every outlet as I want to protect the outlets and my nieces as much as possible. I love that there are 32 of these included in this pack, as it gives me more than enough for all my rooms and outlets.

Other brands of outlet protectors have let me down in the past, as they have proved to be easy to remove by toddlers and left me feeling very unsafe. These are great and high quality and takes a bit of work to get out of the outlet.

We are loving these outlet covers! Brilliant design. I have them in the hall, living room, and children’s bedroom, where my 15-month old was always removing the traditional style plug covers and putting them back as a kind of game.

These are too difficult for her to maneuver, so she just ignores them. We love the bonus socket plug protectors too! We are just using a few, and while I THINK the design would make them less easy than our old ones for my little one to remove, I don’t even know.

That’s because they are clear and so low profile that she hasn’t even noticed them (and so I completely forget about them too, honestly). Crossing my fingers she continues to not notice them, but I think we’ll be fine either way.

We use it in his room, and the living room. So when we use vacuum cleaner, and his around me which he is he doesn’t pull it out nor try to plug it by himself. Which I have always stopped him from doing that for his safety.

And also I plug in his night camera where he likes to mess with at the time but this way it’s also hard for him to try to unplugged due to the sliding window that keeps it hold better than comparing with having nothing there.

So my baby don’t like it due to not able to play anymore like he use to but it’s a good thing. With extra plug in, this is amazing bc we have different ones but they are all so weak so it just don’t hold it self from his little fingers.

he can pull the other ones off like nothing. Wittlebaby product is actually much stronger and sturdy. hard to be taken off. this is good sign.

These are such an amazing product! I love that they come as one piece and you don’t have to remove anything to plug products in! They are much more tasteful than the plastic covers and I love that I don’t have to worry about having to replace the cover or forget to replace the plastic part since it slides.

We’re using the product in our living room primarily since that’s where our kids play a lot. My toddlers haven’t noticed them since they’re more accustomed to having covers on our outlets anyways. It was helpful having the bonus protectors in case my child figured out the slide feature or if I was more anxious about them figuring out the plugs.

The plug inserts surpassed my quality, value and reliability expectations and standards. However, they’re difficult to remove if pressed into the outlet completely. You cannot go wrong otherwise. My cat stopped touching outlets immediately upon insertion.

Now that we have grandchildren we needed safe outlet covers. The ne you just plop in the individual outlet can break off trying to remove them And littles can get them off. These covers are more difficult for a child to use.

I would buy again.

It serves the purpose but wish there were more options for location of the cord. Purchased to compensate for outlet placed too low over cabinet and too close to sink. Cord location really limits how and where it can be installed.

and cord will be running up the wall (if I reverse the outlet itself) or running across the counter backsplash. Helps with the safety issue but not the aesthetic issue.

Cancelled my order from another retailer because Bed bath & Beyonds price was cheaper with my beyond+ membership plus the other retailer’s sleek socket only had 2 sockets. This one has 3! So I can plug in 1 more item.

I wish I would have known about this item sooner. It cleans up an area so nicely and if you have curious babies/toddlers, then definitely invest in these.

We bought this specifically due to our toddler was always trying to play with the plugs in the wall at one specific location in our family room. This TOTALLY eliminated the problem! I love it however the price is a little high but worth it for the safety of my child.

These plates are of high quality. The only downside is that there’s no way of securing the back plate in a way that provides a seal between the plate and the wall, uniformly. Be sure not to over-tighten the screws so as not to bevel the edges of the plate, thus pulling it toward you and away from the wall.

If the plates were constructed in a way in which they were already beveled in the opposite direction (away from the wall), this would help the plates appear as if they aren’t pulling away from the walls once tightened.

These 2 Gang Screwless wall Plates are excellent. They were supper easy to install and look great. The other benefit is that they are easy to take off as well. Some other manufactures make it impossible to get to the screws if you ever need to take the plate off but not Enerlites, and at a fraction of the price.

We absolutely love this product in our household! The covers seem to be made very sturdy and fit right into our outlets. They are also paintable, which is very cool. Since we started using them our very adventurous toddler has forgotten we had outlets and no longer tries to play with them.

For some reason my daughter can get the small plastic ones out but she hasn’t even attempted to touch these ones at all, out of sight, out of mind! I definitely would recommend these to anyone looking to baby proof their home!.

Great product for baby proofing! The Dream Baby Paintable CoverPlug is great quality and easily plugged in to our outlets to hide them from our toddler’s little fingers! It came out easily for me, too, but was hard enough to remove that I didn’t have to worry about my daughter getting it out.

It is made to be able to be painted – you could paint it easily to match your wall color. We loved using these at home, but they are also AWESOME for on the go – hotels, grandparents’ houses, etc. for quick and easy baby proofing.

Overall great product – good quality, gets the job done, and is easy to use!.

This idea for baby proofing the house is great, but the execution was a little problematic. I didn’t need to paint the covers and the sleek look it gave the wall outlets looks great but they don’t seem to be able to stay in place.

I tried them in different outlets around the house just to make sure that it wasn’t a particular one that was the issue, but the covers just didn’t fit and I was not able to keep them on for an extended period of time.

It was a bummer because I do love the sleek look and the idea is great but I wish they would’ve stayed on longer.
