20 Best Oven For Baking Cookies (2022 Updated)

My 64-year old oven failed in early March. Repairs were not possible due to its obsolescence. I therefore ordered a replacement oven from US Appliance in Auburn Hills, Michigan. Over the ensuing months, I was repeatedly informed that, due to supply chain issues, my new oven would not be delivered when it was promised.

I was notified a total of five times that the shipment would be delayed yet again. The last time I heard from US Appliance they informed me that the delivery date would be pushed back to October. Fortunately I received an update a few weeks later stating that the oven would be shipped in late June.

I received the oven on July 6, 2022. A local appliance repair company installed the new oven. It fit perfectly into the existing opening. After preparing a few meals in my new oven, I am pleased to report that it functions well.

The temperature in the oven box runs a few degrees warmer than the setting control display illustrates. Regardless, I can easily compensate for this minor issue. Also, I am still getting used to the digital control functions of this oven, as my former oven contained only analog functions.

I have two minor criticisms about my new oven. First, it arrived with some minor cosmetic damage. US Appliance required a signature when the shipment (by a third party carrier) arrived. The damage was not visible during my initial inspection of the oven when it was still in the shipping container.

However, it is not objectionable. My second criticism is that the oven arrived with a partially broken handle on the storage compartment door. I traced the break back to stripped threads on the back of the handle (which is made out of plastic).

Since the threads were stripped, the attaching bolt could not secure the handle to the door. I had to resort to gluing the handle back to the door using JB Weld. Also, as stated by other reviewers, the oven did not come with a broiler pan.

I have since purchased a broiler pan for my new oven through another company.

Purchased to replace a cabinet oven ,we had to employ a cabinet maker to down size the existing opening including adding a drawer underneath to fill the opening from the old double oven. We received the new oven specs from Frigidaire and altered the opening accordingly, huge mistake !!!! When the oven FINALLY arrived the dimensions of the new oven were off in three different planes ,after hours on the phone with Frigidaire i was advised this was not unusual ???? I was guided to a site which was to offer a rebate up to $350.

00 to help pay for additional alterations by the cabinet maker. After again hours on the phone i was told my model was not eligible for a rebate and Frigidaire was sorry, i ate the cost. Fast forward to Thanksgiving (yesterday) and we place a 19 lb turkey in the oven and the rack collapses the turkey falls from the pan and the rack wedges into the bottom of the oven.

The problem, the racks are a sloppy fit and if they move to either side they barely catch the side rails that hold the rack,up. Add the weight of a turkey and the rack slides over the rail and the turkey on the floor.

I’m awaiting Frigidaires reply.

I bought this through Best Buy. With geek squad membership it was installed for free. Plus longer warranty. So glad I went through with this choice! The oven essentially works like a convection oven with air circulation to ensure even cooking.

I make sourdough and other baked goods. So far everything is coming out so much better than my previous oven. Crisp on the outside, soft center. Can’t wait to roast a chicken. Easy to program for temp and time.

People complain about no broiler pan, but their not expensive. I already had one from the previous oven. I measured temp and it’s 100% accurate. Overall it’s a great little oven. I got the black one and true to advertised, The outside stays pretty smudge free between cleanings.

I was impressed unboxing the Toaster Oven. It was packaged very well. It has a beautiful exterior, shiny and silver, and it matches my kitchen appliances nicely. The first food item I tested in the microwave was an English Muffin.

It just didn’t get as browned and crispy as I would have liked. Later that day, I put a 12″ pizza in there. It did fit, but barely. After the allotted baking time, the pizza middle was doughy, so we ended up putting it in the oven of my range.

There was a lot of pizza sauce and cheese stuck to the back of the toaster oven where the pizza had touched the interior wall. It did wipe right off, but there are so many nooks and crannies inside the oven, where crumbs can fall into.

It really should have more of a smooth interior wall and bottom, so you don’t have to pick crumbs out of crevices. The drip tray seems like it should have some kind of stopper at the back because when you pull that out, it just falls forward spilling the mess, because there is nothing to catch it to keep it steady and straight in your hands.

I put a Pop Tart in the oven, and set it for the toast setting. The time was too long, and it partially burned. I also made homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies in the Toaster Oven. Those turned out beautifully.

Perfect, however, if you want to make more than one batch, the oven needs to be completely reset with temperature and of course, timer. This oven would work nicely in a dorm room or for other rooms where a full-size range wasn’t possible.

All in all, it is a nice countertop addition to my kitchen, and I think after tweaking times and temperatures, I could learn to get better results than I did with my first efforts.

We bought this convection toaster oven to replace the earlier version (model #3073283) which we purchased in 2008. The old one still works great but the door mechanism broke and the door will no longer stay closed.

That is the only reason we bought this new one. We have not yet used the newer version being rated here, but I gave it 5 stars based on the excellent performance of its predecessor. This newer model seems to be a clone of the old one, except for a different configuration of control buttons on the front.

We almost did not buy this newer model based on the dimensions in the Q&A, which state that the unit is much wider than it really is. In fact, almost all the dimensions given on the item page are incorrect.

Here are the correct dimensions. The EXTERIOR DIMENSIONS: 19. 25″ Wide X 10. 75″ High X 13. 25″ Deep (including the bumpers on the back). The INTERIOR DIMENSIONS: 13. 75″ Wide (taken from the inside edge of one oven rack shelf to the other) X 12″ Deep (including the pizza pan extension in back) X 7.

5″ high (excluding the top and bottom heating elements). The measurement between the top and bottom heating element is 5. 75″, so you would not be able to cook anything taller than about 5″ or it would touch the heating elements.

The oven definitely accommodates a 12″ pizza pan (pan is not included). Contrary to the item description, it will fit a 9 X 13″ pan without touching the sides. If this newer model performs as well as our old 2008 one did, we can look forward to great reliable convection cooking and toasting for many, many years to come.

I was skeptical that this “toaster over” would do more than make decent toast. Boy was I wrong. I was surprised at the quality and look and feel of the convection toaster over. First off, it is much larger than I anticipated, it was atleast 1 1/2 times the size of the toaster oven that it replaced.

On the downside it takes up more counterspace – but on the upside you can fit more into it. It has all the features that you would need and is pretty intuitive on how to use. We have actually not even used it to make toast because it does so much more.

The convection feature cuts down on cooking time and makes it feel like a real oven. In Arizona we hate using the oven when it’s hot outside as it heats up the whole house – this thing is a dream! We can make things we usually make in the oven, and not make the extra heat! We have made cookies, french fries, baked chicken, frozen pizza, chicken nuggests and more.

All by using the same temp as our oven but a quicker cook time! Its amazing. The unit itself does get a little bit hot, so watch your kids around it and don’t touch the top or sides when something is cooking.

Overall this is a pretty impressive little countertop Convection Toaster Oven.

This countertop oven is not only attractive but it’s versatility makes it a much welcome addition to any kitchen. I especially liked the large capacity and the built-in rotisserie. The control knobs are very easy to use and the included accessories are good quality.

The unit itself seems to be sturdy and well-made. I found it to be very easy to use and the instructions were very clear. I also liked that I had the choice of having the unit shut off by itself or have it run continuously.

There were only a couple of drawbacks that I found with this unit. The top of the oven gets very hot when in use so you need to take care not to touch it. The other is that it doesn’t have an internal light which I find would be helpful.

All in all, I find that if you have the space for a large countertop oven then this Hamilton Beach oven is an excellent choice!.

It’s an amazing product that we use all the time. If we have something small to bake, we use this toaster. I also use it as a back up to my oven during the holidays. In addition to baking in it, we often keep food in the toaster oven to keep it warm.

Never used the rotisserie function. I live this version.

Best counter top oven out there. You can even rotisserie a 5lb chicken, which comes out AMAZING. This is my 2nd one and I will buy a 3rd if I have to. It cooks wonderful and even has a convection as well.

I definitely recommend to everyone. And you can fit a 9×11 pan inside as well.

Installed two months ago, here are my thoughts: The design is beautiful, the machine is built well. I’ve roasted chicken, vegetables, and made cakes. I’m still adjusting to how long I need to roast meat/vegetables and at what temperatures.

I have yet to figure out how to roast meat so that it comes out crispy/brown on the outside. Otherwise I think it bakes/roasts evenly. The sponge cakes are always coming out perfectly baked on the inside and golden on the outside.

The microwave warms up the food twice as fast as my previous Whirlpool. Here are my suggestions: Add a programmed toasting option to the microwave oven. I was hoping I could toast bread but it doesn’t have a programmed time for toasting.

The only way to toast is to turn on the broil and shut it off manually when you are finished. It requires flipping the bread halfway, total time about 6 min. I’ll have to purchase a separate toaster oven.

The roasting rack, which I would prefer to keep in the microwave at all times, occasionally needs to be removed when trying to microwave food in a larger bowl. I wish the rack was adjustable. Note: the convection oven blows out air constantly and the air flow is powerful.

If you are standing/working in front of the oven it will be warm and you will smell like the food you are making. Think about where you are installing the oven in relation to your AC vents, your cooktop, etc.

I would have put the oven in a different location. I am unable to use the hood range when the oven is on because it pushes air away. Otherwise, I would recommend this product.

My jet stream oven quit working after 15 years and I was looking for a replacement. The model I had was disconnected so I was on the hunt for something similar. I did a lot of research and ended up purchasing this little oven.

It’s OK. The issue I have with this oven is that you can not double stack the food. I’m not sure why it comes with 2 racks but you can can’t load them both at the same time. I was cooking fries for the fam and loaded the bottom rack and the top.

The fries on the bottom rack never cooked. Also, the slits in the rack are too far apart. Small food falls right between them. Fries, pizza rolls, etc. My sister purchased the ninja foodi toaster oven, and I must say, after using that I am now getting rid of this oven and splurging for the ninja!.

This is a very well made covection oven. I had another one with infrared bulb that only lasted one year due to the bulb burning out. It was impossible to try to replace it, so I tossed it and was quite upset.

This convection oven has no infrared bulb and works great. I had my grilled hot dogs in 10 minutes for Memorial Day. This unit is much better made than my last unit and costs less. It runs cooler than my stainless stell convection oven which is great for hot summers here in Arizona.

It has a better made top and the controls are easy and simple to use. It comes with a nice cook book but the operating diretions are scarce. I downloaded another unit’s manual to use for cooking times.

I am looking forward to making succulent meat loaf and roast chicken in a fraction of the time. I do not recommend baking in this. I did purchase Walmart’s 2 year protection plan so with the one year warranty I am covered for 3 years.

Hopefully it will last a lot longer than that.

Positive features: 1. Delicious meals: When I used it for the first time, my chicken was juicy and moist with most of the fat dripped below the stainless steel grill that came with it. 2. Easy clean-up: I did not use pam but nothing was burned or baked on.

No scouring was needed. 3. Easy to Use: Place the meat inside, set the temperature, set the timer and close the handle to turn on the oven. 4. Relative inexpensive. Negative features: 1. Very fragile plastic on-off switch: The on-off switch is a thin piece of protruding plastic in the handle which you have to press a button to make it withdraw into the handle.

If you forget to press the button to make it withdraw, you will probably break of the protruding plastic switch when you close the handle. This part should be metal! 2. Huge Glass Bowl: 13 inches diameter by 6 inches high.

This means it will not sit flat in my double bowl sink to wash. Had to lay the bowl on its side to wash. Large families may prefer a large bowl for large meals but I suggest a smaller bowl for an empty nest couple or a single person.

3. Another reviewer stated that you can’t turn off the timer by twisting it to zero minutes. I agree with this finding so I had to let the timer turn off by itself. 4. The fan is noisy. This not a quiet oven.

Summary: The positives out-weigh the negatives. Most of the negatives are nuisances and I have to be extremely careful about making sure that I do not break off the plastic on-off switch. I am sold on turbo ovens but my next turbo oven will be more expensive without these negatives.

After using this oven for almost two months, I have been very pleased with it. There are many cooking options, and I can’t say that I have used them all or even understand their use, but I can do everything that I have wanted to.

My only suggestion is not to use the Pizza option as described in the directions unless you want burnt cheese on the racks and oven floor. Lesson learned. There are many features that require some study, but the general functions are easy.

I feel that this oven cooks more quickly than my previous one did. The only real problem I have with it has to do with the controls on the front panel. They are sensitive, so, if you lean into them while cooking, you will activate the controls.

I am always turning on the oven light by mistake, but it’s not a big deal. The fast preheat option is handy, and I also use the cook time setting, which turns the oven off when cook time has been reached.

Very pleased with this oven so far.

At first glance, the Bosch 800 wall oven appears expensive for an appliance. The truth is that compared to other wall ovens on the market, the Bosch 800 series justifies the extra expense in exceptional build quality, high end features, and impeccable aesthetics.

We purchased this unit to replace a 20+ year old Whirlpool Gold, and couldn’t be happier. Our Thanksgiving turkey was perfectly cooked – no exaggeration – and the controls are intuitive. The oven is easy to use, looks fantastic in the kitchen, and has performed beyond expectations to date.

The oven door even has a soft-close feature! Didn’t know that when we purchased; just another reason to extoll the virtues of this unit. The only complaint we have would be the volume of the chime (aka kitchen timer/beeper) – even on the highest setting the volume is too low to hear the beeping outside of the kitchen.

If Bosch can fix this single issue, the appliance would be perfect.

Pales a bit in comparison to the steam oven I got at the same time but it really is wonderful. The controls are intuitive – I was a bit wary of moving to touch screen from the old-school dial controls, but it’s a fairly easy switch.

The food probe is a marvel. I’ve always been a bit intimidated by roasts but everything I’ve tried so far has been beautiful – just as intended by setting the internal temperature. The ‘finish at’ time feature on both ovens is a welcome feature to simplify meal timing – seems so simple but it still has me in awe.

Similar to the steam oven, my family is annoyed by the fan noise that follows a cooking cycle while it cools down. And in the summer, opening the door to speed up the cooling process isn’t ideal. It’s a big challenge to learn all the many settings and which one to use for each recipe but that’s a welcome challenge.

This oven looks really smart in my new kitchen. So easy to use without any complicated features that take some getting used to as mentioned in reviews for other models. So far everything has cooked to perfection so I can highly recommend.

Miele is such a dependable brand that I feel very secure in the knowledge that I will have many years of trouble-free cooking. I not yet used the self-cleaning feature yet, mainly due to trying to save on energy during this cost-of-living crisis, however a quick wipe round the interior while still warm is keeping it looking pristine.

I’ll start by saying that the overnight is very good and we are happy with it and its cousin, the 1B. However, we didn’t notice that you only get one rack (plus a universal tray). This is, as the title suggests, appalling.

Do Miele not think that we will want to cook more than one item, sometimes three, at a time? Ok, we can use the universal tray but that’s not the point, and it is not really designed to put roasting pans or baking trays on it.

As a result, we have had the pay another £96 on another rack. I do feel that JL staff should also point this out.

I bought this oven after having a fabulous Asko for many years. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. This oven is so poorly designed that food debris gathers in the ledge between the door and the oven with no way of accessing to clean unless you actually remove the door.

Also when the glass oven doors get dirty you have to remove three pains of glass to clean and then spend hours trying to put the door pieces back together. (Fiddly stoppers falling off etc etc). I would never buy a Miele oven again.

I purchased this Kitchenaid Double Wall Oven from Best Buy in November, 2021 and after 6 months of use noticed foods were not cooking the proper amount of time in the upper oven. I purchased an oven thermometer to place inside of the oven and continued to monitor the temperature for 3 months and the temperature in the oven ranges from 25 to 50 degrees off from the temperature set on the oven control panel.

I have spent 2 weeks making numerous calls to Kitchenaid Service to only be told: 1. They don’t show a repairman in my area and would need to research how to proceed. I provided the name of a local appliance store to sells and services Kitchenaid appliances during the first phone call.

2. I waited one week and returned a call to Kitchenaid and was transferred to 3 different representatives/specialists with no resolution. After 1 hour and 21 minutes on the phone, I was told my ticket “would be escalated to a member of management” and should expect a call very soon.

3. I have now waited 3 days and have heard nothing from Kitchenaid. I am very displeased with how Kitchenaid handles manufacturer’s warranty claims and will be hesitant to purchase appliances from their company in the future.

When you spend $3,600 plus taxes on an appliance, you expect a response and resolution to a problem rather than being put off over and over again with absolutely nothing being done and an appliance that is still not working properly.

The installation instructions need to be re-written. The cutout dimensions were too SMALL. (Maybe the screws were different than in the instructions. ) Also, the outer covering was VERY POORLY attached.

Two things were wrong: (1) the screws used to attach it had been over tightened and thus the holes were reamed out. I never could figure out how to do it better. (2) The outer cover was not flat but rather severely buckled so that I had to undo it and then reattach it.

(The holes had apparently been drilled in the proper spots with one or two exceptions so that when put on properly would become flat. NOTE: (1) above. ) The buckling was severe enough so that the unit would not fit flush with the mounting cutout.

It took several times (three, I think) moving the oven in and out of the mounting space for me to finally determine what was wrong. WE HAVEN’T used the oven enough yet to determine whether the internals work properly.

As of right now (three weeks after the install), they seem to work fine. IF you buy this unit, open the box and very carefully examine the unit. MAKE certain that the side covers are all planar and reset the attaching screw if necessary.

Also VERY carefully measure its width BEFORE you make the mounting hole. (This will NOT be easy to do, but do NOT go by the instructions for the size of the cutout hole. ) The size as specified had ZERO clearance and we damaged the sides of the cutout getting the unit in and then back out.

Thankfully the unit is wide enough so that the damage does not show. We purchased this unit because it would ALMOST fit the cutout for our 60 year old over we were replacing as it was the only one that began to be small enough to fit.

We installed the unit ourselves. I have been doing electrical work and room remodeling work for years. So anticipated no problems except moving the ovens, old out and new in, we chose to do the work ourselves.

The moving was not that difficult once I had devised a method so that my wife and I alone could lift it. My guess is that the old one weighed twice as much as the GE. I don’t know whether I would buy it again knowing what I know now.

I would NOT recommend it to a friend unless the friend had no other choice.

Nicely designed with controls that are simple to use. My cabinet was originally designed for a single oven with the same width and I modified the cabinet to support this oven. Since the original oven was small it made sense to have two ovens to support multiple dishes.

The touchscreen controls are nice, although the bottom oven temperature is controlled by a separate knob. I would prefer having an all-in-one control screen but it works.

It was difficult to find a double wall oven to fit a small space and this was it. The features are great. There is a delayed start which I love. The oven is a little noisy as there is a fan inside. The buzzer to alert that the oven has reached temp is quiet and easy to miss.

The timer is easy to operate until you want to stop it and then the entire oven turns off. The door slams closed so you need to hold it when closing the oven door. The lower oven is operated by hand with a dial.

The oven itself is deep so I am able to comfortably fit a large roasting pan and cookie sheets inside. Overall, it works as it should. It bakes evenly which is probably the bottom line.

We proactively replaced our old KitchenAid oven when the oven light stopped working. It was not the bulb or the socket that was the problem, but the control board. The control board for the old oven is no longer made.

So before the oven expired completely, we ordered and installed the same model. The bread proofing feature is important, as hubby bakes our sourdough. I also used the dehydrate feature on the old oven and am sorry it is not included in the new oven, but the proofing should be okay for both purposes.

I wish the new oven had a meat temperature probe. The convection fan seems much louder in the new oven, which is a drawback. I do plan to use the self-cleaning feature, although many blame the control board failures on the high heat during self-cleaning, but I have NO intention of going back to caustic sprays, etc.

I also wish the racks could be left in for the self-cleaning. Might do that anyhow, and replace the racks if they become unsightly.

My wife loves this oven. although with built in’s your limited by the size of the cut-out hole for your home. we wish we could have fit the larger one & we wanted to switch to a gas oven but again couldn’t find any that would fit the cut-out.

My wife loves the bread proofing feature and loves the true convection. I wouldn’t worry about hearing a little tiny bit of fan noise like some people complained about. it’s really not very loud at all & it’s there to get rid of the heat to protect electronic components.

You must make sure you have enough space behind the unit for proper ventilation. I cut out a part of the cabinet to add a heat register & to allow it to breath better. by being able to draw more fresh air in when in use.

Now we won’t worry about using the self-cleaning feature people said caused issues because of the excessive heat generated by it when we need too. KitchenAid told me most issues caused by the self-cleaning heat were actually BECAUSE of incorrect installation.

aka, not enough space around the unit. We love this oven so far. no complaints. glad we bought it. looks great too.

Purchased about 4 years ago. This oven will lock-up every time you use self-cleaning and you need to call for service ! I could get replacement of over-temp fuses twice under warranty, but since then, I have not used self-cleaning ! I understand that the problem is inherent to all wall ovens !? Control panel/progammer is erratic and badly designed/engineered.

Temperature is unstable. Takes forever to reach temperature ( standard oven would normally take 10 minutes to get to 350°F, that one takes 20-30 minutes ).

For the first six week, I thought the over was great, until I tried to bake at 450 degrees and then all heck broke loose. Using my K probe thermocoulple oven never got about 350 then starting dropping.

Also the oven would not let me set an internal temperature using the provided probe. Yes I rebooted. Repair person arrived told me it was the “motherboard” which had to be ordered. Wrong parts arrived technician tried to correct the issue had to order the correct parts.

Time will tell. Would not recommend oven.

Pros: Nice picture very good colour and impact. Deep blacks. Good panel for gaming. Quick to use when powering on and switching between apps. Cons: I always notice artefacts with the motion processing, and in some apps (amazon prime for example) there is a slight audio delay which is worsened with motionflow switched on.

Apparently this is an issue with many modern tv’s which of course I only find out after buying one, because in 2020 I would have assumed this is no longer the case!Have to be very clear if using bixby e.

g. saying ‘switch to iplayer’ will not work but saying ‘switch to iplayer app’ does. Can’t comment on the sound quality as we have connected it to a HiFi system.

Cons: The smart remote volume button was stuck after a month use. Samsung support over phone was awful. 3 calls that went through were just bouncing around between teams. The other 3 calls just dint go through after presenting options.

Replaced our older Firgidaire unit since the cost to repair was going to be near the cost to buy this unit. Pros: *Nice finish *Easy to operate *Reasonably priced compared to other options Cons: *Temperature fluctuates drastically – set to 350, it got up to 415 then dropped to 318 over a 20min period.

*Right side of the oven appears to run hotter than left *No convection – I realize there was not convection advertised on this model but I thought it was standard for most new ovens *Cooling Fan – runs entire time the oven is on, then for a long time after it is shut off (~20min or so).

Is meant to “keep electrical parts from overheating” but it is rather annoying. Dealing with the service aspect has been a pain as well. Nebraska does not cover the service for this item and outsources all the repairs to various companies.

We’re in Dallas so luckily there are a lot of options, but even getting through to one of those companies was a time consuming process. The fact that we’ve needed to call for service within 30 days of owning the unit is disappointing.

I would have expected more from the Frigidaire brand.

I’ve had this oven for about 4 years now so I think I can make a pretty case of what I really think of this oven. When we bought this we had such high hopes and really loved how it looked and all the bells and whistles that came with it.

But right away, we had an issue with steam getting into the keyboard. We even had two technicians come out to troubleshoot this and their response was needed to cut a hole in the back of the wall and add separate ventilation for the oven (imagine having another hole cut in your house just so your oven can ventilate properly).

I’ve never had ovens that needed to do that. The keyboard gets stuck every time we cook anything with a drop of moisture. I am so fed up with this oven that I am ready to throw out the 3g I spent on buying and installing it and get something else.

The worst part is, once it goes into error mode, its circuit board or something of the sort goes haywire, asks me randomly if i want to convect bake or convert boil. Can you imagine how dangerous that is???? I also have a bunch of other KitchenAid products, and they’re all fine, but this by far is the biggest red flag ever.

The oven was installed a week ago. Tried a roast on convection oven, but probe is not measuring internal temperature correctly, so I relied on my own thermometer. Thus, this a nice feature that does not work properly.

Plus it is difficult to connect the probe in a preheated oven without burning your fingers or oven glove. Manual does not explain very well the distinction between regular baking and convection baking, and within convection baking, options one and two.

The same goes for convection roasting, options one and two are confusing. No examples are provided. Also, oven takes a long time to preheat (my old oven 10 minutes, this new one approx. 20 minutes). I spent approx.

40 minutes today trying to get help from customer service — bad, bad experience. The first person could not find the manual, the second found the manual but couldn’t explain the differences, the third finally was helpful.

I will give it another go this weekend, see how it goes.

So the “self cleaning option” is a joke! I followed the instructions it steamed the oven! It should bake the oven at 500° for like 8 hours and the oven should come out beautiful. Instead I had to go buy oven cleaning spray let it soak and clean the whole oven and it came out beautiful.

The thing is you shouldn’t have to do that. The reason for self cleaning is it cleans the oven and burns off all the debris not steam the inside to death which does absolutely positively nothing to cleaning the inside of the oven at all!!!!!!! You also have to take the metal shelf’s out too… so I had to use the oven cleaner outside and clean those since it doesn’t even clean the inside metal oven shelf’s.

For as much money as I spent on this oven the self clean option should do it’s job. This steaming option is no cleaning anything at all unless it’s a dishwasher!.

Ours was installed when our house was built in 2014. The magnetron and power supply died after about four years (service call). One of the top two halogen bulbs died at the 5. 5 year mark as well as one of the wheels broke off of the turntable under the glass platter (limped along without both).

The entire unit died when the unit was only seven and a half years old. It just cost us $3000 to replace the unit with a new one. We had to replace the unit with a new one because the installation cut out is unique for this model in our built-in cabinet and our wiring is for a 230 V installation.

A couple other things to note, are 1) the microwave function is relatively weak – it takes 3 minutes to boil a cup of water, 2) the light in the unit has to be turned on manually while you’re cooking and only stays on about four seconds before automatically shutting off if you wish to see the food you are cooking, 3) the clock is not displayed when the unit is not running and 4) the stainless steel interior stains badly from cooking splatters and is impossible to clean.

Also note, that the glass microwave platter has to be switched out with a metal platter when you want to use the oven instead of the microwave and then switched back when you are finished. That process can be rather tedious.

We expected more from GE for an expensive, weak microwave and small convection oven combo that only lasted 7 years.

I purchased this GE product to replace my old GE micro/convection oven. This was the ONLY under counter one that fit in the already established hole in my cabinet so my choice was very limited. It took several readings of the instructions to get used to when to use the non-stick tray for convection cooking.

The instructions do not tell you to take out the glass turntable first so I had to Youtube it to figure it out. It cooks well. I have not yet used it for baking breads/muffins so I don’t yet know if it will brown food the way it advertises.

I also do not like they recommend using no papers products of any kind in there. I can assure you, my husband will not remember that!!! I think the product is overall very good, and would certainly recommend buying a micro/convection oven to anyone, but hopefully they would have more choices.

Lastly, it does not come with (or apparently have an option for) stainless side panels to fill out any gaps btw the sides of the oven and the cabinet space it’s in. The dial feature is a little weird – it feels like there are too many steps to take to get it to do what you want.

It drives my husband nuts that the clock cannot be seen unless you open the door to the oven.

Still exploring convection oven but as a microwave I only selected this because it was the only one that would fit my wall cutout from my prior GE Profile MW. Things I don’t like: 1. No clock that stays lit 2.

Can only cook in 15 second intervals 3. Have to turn a knob then hit enter a minimum of 3 times EVERY time you cook something! Microwaves are meant for fast east cooking so this is ridiculous. 4. Very noisy when cooking.

Makes a uncomfortable grinding type hum. 5. Blows air out the bottom right at you. Odd. Whoever designed this microwave doesn’t actually cook much with a microwave I am sure. It is very expensive to be so awkward and annoying.

Needed a replacement for our 21 year-old GE Wall Oven and am very happy we went with GE. This model fit our cutout perfectly, looks great installed, and the features are exactly what I wanted. I baked frozen fries last night and noticed that it does take about 10-15 minutes or so to preheat, and I definitely should have taken the fries out sooner.

(I did a guesstimate on how long to keep the fries in and miscalculated, so it’s not the oven. ) The interior is roomy and took a full sized cookie sheet easily. I like the extra large window and having an interior light for viewing.

I haven’t tried the steam cleaning or the self cleaning systems yet, but I am thrilled I don’t have to mess with toxic sprays and odors anymore. For folks with young children, the oven exterior was not hot to the touch while baking and it does come with a child lock option.

Lastly, I did purchase the cord recommended by the website but ended up returning it because the oven unit comes with its own electrical hookup. I feel we received a great deal because we purchased it on sale and even got an added 10% discount because we used our Sears Card.
