20 Best Ovens For Home Bakers (2022 Updated)

We had a GE double oven in our home for 22 years (limping along the last 5 or more as I constantly repaired the touch control panel which was inconveniently placed right where all the steam would release into it.

). So I was glad to see the heat/steam was re-routed on this model. This one was installed and required no modifications (and the removal/installation was completed in under 30 minutes by the XPO team).

What I have noticed so far with this oven is that it does seem a little slower when heating up and it makes all kinds of new twinkly noises. I haven’t even bothered connecting it to Wi-Fi because I really don’t need that or want to give my data to yet another app.

but I have had a few weird things happen where the oven just seems to be “stuck” and not doing anything. For example, when trying to adjust the settings during a “broil”, it just stopped heating yet the control panel indicated it was on.

I had to cancel everything, confirm it was off, and start over. A similar issue happened when I had the oven on “bake” at 350, but then wanted to change the temperature to “425” for the remainder of the bake time.

the control panel showed it was on, but the temperature never went to 425 until I shut it all off and restarted. Extremely annoying since out old oven was able to do this with no problem (just enter new temp and hit start.

). then of course there is the “lock out” button which I assumed would lock the controls on the control panel so you could say for example, clean it (as it shows fingerprints really bad). instead it turned everything off (and it did lock the control panel) and I had to restart my oven and timer.

Why would it do this? completely illogical.

The two oven design is nice. Rather than having one exceptionally large oven, having two moderately sized ovens which can cook simultaneously at different temps is superb for multitasking. It also helps if you cook smaller portions in the oven so that you’re not wasting time and energy to heat and maintain the temp of a very large oven.

The wifi capability with phone app notifications is convenient but in our house setting we haven’t reaped it’s full convenience since we can hear the oven beep when it’s ready from the living room. This feature will be helpful if I’m in the garage for a period of time or further away from the kitchen, but just because I haven’t truly appreciated it now doesn’t mean I won’t in the future.

Speaking of the beeps, the beeps and boops of the oven for presetting and timers is really cute and helps to add some personality to it. One small gripe I have is the preset temp of what you set is not the actual temp when it says it has reached it.

I have a separate thermometer I keep inside to check how accurate the thermocouple is. And while the oven’s thermocouple is accurate once it’s maintained it’s temp for a period of time. There’s a delay between when it says it’s preheated and when the actual temp finally matches the preset temp, so you have to wait another 10 min or so before the oven is actually ready after it says it’s preheated.

That seems like a software design fix that can be updated, hopefully with a firmware update?.

After my new GE oven was installed that replaced a much older GE oven, it was impressed with the sleek look and modern touches. I’m looking forward to baking some cookies soon and even trying the wi-fi option from the app I’ve already downloaded onto my phone! I’m offering 4 stars for two reasons.

1. Confusion at first with fan noise – thought it would not shut off at first. My old oven had no fan noise. What’s interesting is that in the Troubleshooting section of the Built-In Electric Wall Oven instructions pg.

11 – that were enclosed in the plastic wrap that comes with the oven, it does not mention “fan noise” as seen in the GE downloaded manual, Built-In Electric Wall Oven, pg. 17 of Troubleshooting tips.

Before you call for service. (downloaded from local appliance retailer’s website, I purchased the oven from). It’s important to note that the enclosed manual that came with the oven, fails to reference this.

For folks like me who had an old oven that had no fan noise previously, it just threw me off and I thought it wouldn’t shut off and was preparing to have it replaced thinking it was a lemon. 2. One of the grills on the inside of the oven is damaged with the black enamel scraped off exposing the silver metal underneath; however, the local retailer has promised to replace it.

On August 8th, 2021 I purchased a floor model Stainless Steel Frigidaire Professional Wall Oven (Model # FPET3077RF) from PC Richards. Aside from a small dent on its side the oven appeared to be in perfect condition.

The oven was delivered and installed to accommodate my baking business. The first time I went to use the oven it turned on but after 5mins would shut off. I then tried to use the bottom oven and had the same issue.

On December 7th, 2021 I called and reported the issue and a technician was sent out on December 13th, 2021. He checked the oven, parts were ordered and two weeks later on December 28th he returned with the parts and I was told that the oven was working fine.

On January 19th the oven stopped working again and I notified PC Richards of the issue. A technician was scheduled to come out on February 1st 2022. A technician came and more parts were ordered. I called the corporate office and informed them of my baking business and that their oven is proving to be very problematic.

I also made them aware that removing the ovens multiple time were causing damage to my brand kitchen cabinets. The service rep then credited me the cost of the current oven and told me to go back to PC Richards and pick out another floor model oven as a replacement.

On February 8th, 2022 I picked out another floor model oven and it was delivered and installed on February 15th, 2022. On June 20th, 2022 the oven stopped working. A service call was made on June 29th, 2022 and I was told that two technicians would be there on July 12th, 2022.

The morning of July 12th only one technician arrived instead of two. He questioned what was wrong with the oven and based off of what I told him he ordered parts and did not inspect the oven. On July 21st I received an email stating that the parts are delayed.

I contacted customer service to informed them of my situation and was offered another floor model oven for the third time. At this point in time I’m very frustrated and disappointed. This has not only cost me time but money.

This entire process has been one month shy of one year, my ovens are still nonfunctional and at this point you can’t even tell me when the parts will be available to repair my oven. I’ve been forced to outsource a lot of my business because I could not meet the demands of my customers needs.

I’m disgusted in the quality of your appliances and this problem needs to be rectified as soon as possible.

The GCWD3067AF double wall oven was the only unit I could find that would fit into the space left behind by my dying Kenmore Elite double oven. A corner space in a custom cabinet arrangement meant tight restrictions on my choices.

The Frigidaire just fit with about ¼ inch to spare between the ovens and the cabinet doors above so it was a workable replacement. After less than a month in use, the oven seems to work well. It offered several new features that I had not considered (sous vide, air fry, etc.

) and a few that I had (steam clean, steam bake, etc. ). It comes equipped with one roller rack so I will purchase another (one for each of the ovens) and was surprised that it did not come with a broiler pan.

Fortunately, I have broiler pans from other ovens so that is not an issue, but it is curious. It also has an air fry setting but the air fry rack is an optional purchase. I think a high-end machine should come with the means to use the bells and whistles it offers.

And, in today’s world, I am surprised that a new, high-end machine does not have even minimal digital connectivity. Because my purchase was dictated by fit and space considerations, I had little ability to select options might have wanted or eliminate those I might not.

I will learn the oven’s features and adapt to them. So far it appears to be a good machine and I look forward to many years of use.

This oven was bought as a replacement to fit in the same space. Actually the oven height was not as high as the original old oven. I didn’t want to do any cabinet revisions and the smaller bottom trim was not going to cover the space at the bottom.

Thankfully the trim piece that is for the space between a double oven worked perfectly! I love the mostly glass bottom portion leaving only a thin stainless steel trim on sides of door. It has a bigger glass window than the original one I had.

The controls are so easy to use, the default temperature is 350 on bake but typing 400 for example and pressing start is all there is to it. The timer has a nice chime and of course it is also available with other features on the app on my smartphone for this oven.

The interior is larger than my previous oven with the racks being wider. It heats so uniformly compared to previous one. I checked the temperature setting with several digital thermometer probes I use for BBQ pit and they agreed that the temperature set was accurate.

The oven does have a method to calibrate the temperature setting to increase or decrease the reading to correspond to the actual temperature realized if it is in error. I love the coated easy clean racks and the steam cleaning capability of the oven at a lower temperature than deep clean.

Although it has a deep clean, as most ovens, my belief is that the extreme temperature used for a long duration is hard on the oven, electronics, heating elements, glass, and etc. Therefore I avoid using deep clean.

Another thing I noticed immediately was how quiet it was. I can feel the exhaust from the bottom, but the fan is super quiet. My old one I could hear from the other room. Although I had this oven professionally installed by the vendor, since it was included with the purchase, it is really simple to install and would not hesitate to do it myself.

My only saving grace for having it installed by the appliance shop is that they had access to the double oven trim spacer that I would have had to order and didn’t know about. I like the fact that the stainless-steel trim pieces seem to be robust.

Other brands that I looked at from the big box stores seamed flimsy in that area and some already had dents/dings in the metal. Only so much one can say about an oven but I am well pleased with this one.

Not sure what happened with this brand but it’s become extremely disappointing. Please see my experience so far. BENCHMARK BUILT IN OVEN: MODEL # HSLP751UC Ready for this? This was a fun experience, it somehow malfunctioned and went into self clean mode and was jammed on the locked setting.

Best part was that I had all my usable pans in there and couldn’t get to them. I guess take out food it is. I was magically able to MacGyver it open with a clothes hanger, it was a proud moment in my life especially since the repair guy gave up.

Once unlocked we had to keep in open until we changed the motherboard on the unit for a sweet $400+ with labor. BENCHMARK BUILT IN FRIDGE: MODEL # B36IT800NP For all the FRIENDS TV show fans out there I feel like screaming at BOSCH and say “YOU BROKE MY FRIDGE” in Joey’s voice.

This hunk of junk starting giving me issues after 2 years and it completely broke down and is not repairable after 4 years. Called/emailed Bosch dozens of times they mentioned a possible rebate towards a new fridge but won’t replace it because it’s already 4 years old.

It’s been nearly 2 months and they went radio silent on me with no response to action and I have NO WORKING FRIDGE, had to buy a temporary replacement until this gets sorted. Hoping this review gets their attention to respond to me.

Crazy to think how my old fridge at $1,000 lasted 15+ years. You would think buying a $10k fridge it would be get you passed 4 years. Now I’m stuck buying the exact replacement at $10k because there aren’t many options for my built in cut out and want to avoid reconfiguring my kitchen cabinets to fit in a different fridge.

BENCHMARK DISHWASHER: MODEL # SHV8PT53UC This has been the reoccurring nightmare and hopefully I wake up soon. Every couple of months I get an error code that results in a $200+ repair. Repair guy told me to throw this piece of trash out and just buy a new one.

First it leaked, then it leaked again then the door spring broke, then it leaked again. Anyone want to guess what happens next? At least I made a new friend with the repair guy, I have seen him more times then some family members.

I don’t want to jinx it but so far the induction cooktop and steam oven have been the only 2 appliances that have been hassle free.

We purchased this combinaion wall oven with the steam oven option almost one year ago and are very happy with it in every way; looks, features, performance and reliability. The lower oven provides the capabilities of a conventional oven.

The upper oven has steam and European convection features. The steam oven is really unique in that foods can be cooked without losing moisture and it really excels a reheating foods like pizza, which even days old in the fridge come out as if it was just pulled out of the original pizza oven.

The upper oven is also handy for conventional cooking if you have a small dish or if you need a warming oven while the main oven is in operation. When the unit was first installed the steam oven had a bad seal where the water canister plugged in.

Because we didn’t immediately understand the issue the leaked moisture in turn caused some of the control buttons to malfunction. What impressed me was the speed that Bosch responded to and resolved our issue.

There are two excellent certified Bosch repair groups that service our area. The issue was rectified on the first try. There have been no other problems with these ovens, or any of the four other Bosch appliances we own since then.

Before buying our appliances we visited the Bosch showroom in the Chicago Merchandise Mart. The representative there was extremely knowledgeable and helpful about all aspects of all the kitchen appliances.

He provided a number of tips about how to use the appliances that have helped us get the most out of our purchases. We highly recommend a visit to one of these showrooms if you are looking at buying a set of appliances.

We love the steam oven but there are two negatives: (1) the gasket around the door keeps coming off the oven; and (2) the descale cycle is difficult to do. That being said, the steam function itself is fabulous and food cooked in the steam oven tastes wonderfully fresh.

I like the bottom convection oven but it too has two negatives: (1) the temperature doesn’t seem to stay consistent (it may need to be calibrated?); and (2) lots of warm air escapes during and after the cooking process (which we assume is a venting process).

My biggest issue, though, is that when I went to purchase an extended warranty, I was told by Bosch representatives that they offer an extended warranty for the steam oven but not for the convection oven! I spent $6200 for a combination oven and now Bosch tells me that I can’t get an extended warranty for part of my appliance.

VERY FRUSTRATING! Even though I LOVE my Bosch dishwasher and pretty much love the oven, I don’t think I would purchase Bosch again due to the lack of good customer service and warranty issue.

I bought these (two of them) about a month ago, but we’re upgrading this house all over and havent moved in yet! So, other than testing them to see if they work, we havent used them. But you kept emailing me to review or I would run out of time.

they look great installed in our Island, one right and one left of the cooktop. Changed door on one so it opens to the right (right side), while the other on opens to the left (left side). Nice effect.

Love the side opening doors. Notice when we test ran them that a fan runs continuously and it is loud. Read that before we bought and assumed it was a picky person, but it was not! The fan is actually innapropriately loud.

I was disappointed for my wife, but she said “I’ll get used to it”. But that’s not the problem. You know how you cant hear anyone talking to you when your running the faucet in the sink? Now she wont be able to hear in the kitchen while running the oven.

And with the ability today to muffle/conceal such noises there is really no excuse for these loud ovens. The rest is too soon to tell, as we dont even have counter top installed for our new kitchen cabinets and have not used the ovens.

One more thing. Read another review that said the door hinge is not heavy enough and you have to lift up on door and push firmly to get it to latch. So that reviewer figured it would get worse with use.

In my opinion this is 100% correct. Because of lightweight hinges the doors dropped a little when you open and wont swing closed of you push them and let go. You have to hold them all the way and guide them and push firmly to close.

But I tightened up the hinge screws as much as possible and they now do not drop down. still harder to close than a regular downward opening door, bcuz they have to latch. If they does not get worn out with time.

it’s a minor issue. Side swinging doors have to latch (I guess), whereas regular down/up doors seem to spring shut. Our microwave side swinging door is the same way. you have to guide it closed. Oh, you can slam the microwave shut and same with these ovens, but this might be bad on the latch over time, so I never do this.

Purchased/installed six months ago and so far, very satisfied with my purchase. I tend to shop very extensively for big purchases so tried to compare all available brands/models, looking for quality, reliability and value.

Obviously can’t always depend on reviews, either fake or a one-time good/bad experience but based on less than stellar experience with other brands, and what I could find about Frigidaire’s reliability and reputation and comments on this specific model, I eventually chose this one and so far very happy.

My wife does the cooking and baking. We hosted family Christmas and she made a perfect turkey and was very happy with the built-in meat thermometer– the turkey was perfect, while she made other sides in the other oven.

She is a frequent baker of cakes, cookies, brownies and rolls/bread and is very happy with this oven. She had not previously used convection so is experimenting with it (and temp variation), thus sometimes uses it and sometimes conventional, but is happy and no complaints about either method.

The features of easy roll rack, no heat element at bottom, meat thermo and convection, (possibly I’m forgetting some) were among the reasons for this model and brand. I believe I first narrowed my selection to Frigidaire based on my best effort to compare available manufacturers.

And then I selected this model vs. a lower priced model, deciding that the features were useful and hoping that it might also indicate some other value/quality vs. the lower priced models. Six months in, we find it easy to use, clean and looks great in our kitchen.

Since loud fans were often mentioned in some reviews, I’ll call out this is NOT a loud fan and is much quieter than our previous whirlpool model of same dimensions (much older but its noise never changed from when we bought it and was not excessive).

This one can’t really be heard outside of kitchen and even within kitchen is only noticeable as “existing” but not loud or disturbing. Can’t hear it from adjoining rooms. I’ve cleaned the outside with no issues.

I think the touch pad controls show some marks but I expect that is likely true of any touch device (and based on reviews I read, that includes “smudge free” models). Overall we are VERY satisfied with this purchase and unless something happens in months or years to come, I will congratulate myself for shopping very carefully and picking a good one.

Firstly, I was reluctant to get this model as my experience with Frigidaire in the past has always been a step or two down from the quality I want in an appliance. Given backorders on units I thought I wanted (thanks to Covid), I finally went with this since it was in stock.

I’m so glad I did! This thing heats up incredibly quickly, cooks evenly and looks fantastic. I LOVE the side opening door and don’t get why all wall ovens don’t come with this. What is so wonderful about reaching over a hot oven door that defines almost all wall ovens?! Sure, there are cheaper ovens out there, but I would buy this again with zero hesitation.

Can’t say enough good things about the moist fish and juicy tender chicken we get from our steam oven. And the keep warm and defrost functions work really well. But the steam clean option is useless other than to clear out residual smells from the oven – it doesn’t actually loosen any hardened grime for removal.

Plus I can’t even reach the back of the oven for cleaning unless I remove the door. Once the door is off, it’s major elbow grease with a microfibre cloth and a very dry baking soda/soap mixture. My Bosch wall oven has an excellent cleaning feature.

It would be great if the steam oven technology evolved to allow for this as well.

We added a Bosch convection steam oven to our renovated kitchen. Although smaller than most conventional ovens, the convection steam oven makes up for it in performance. So far everything we have cooed in the oven has come out quicker and tastes better.

We are amazed at how you can cook several thins in the oven at the same time and the taste and smell of each item remains unique. Clean up is a breeze. Because of the steam nothing seems to stick. If you do have something dirty a pan all you have to do is steam it for several minutes and it gets as good as new.

We cooked spare ribs last night and they were fall off the bone finger licking good. It is also nice to be able to steam things during this vivid 19 crisis. The steam should kill any germs Overall this oven is a winner and great addition to the kitchen.

The oven is great; however, the control panel is a glass touch screen that is slow to respond to your touch. You must hold you finger on the temperature ‘button’ for a second before it starts adjusting.

It goes in 5 degree increments each time you touch it so you need to tap it 10 times to go up 100 degrees and wait 1 second between each tap. If you hold your finger on the button, it will start moving up in 5 degree increments which is great except after a about 25 degrees it suddenly starts moving VERY fast and you over shoot your temperature.

When you remove your finger it keeps going up a few notches before it stops because it’s so sluggish. It’s like they Tried to make it Frustrating to use. On the upside, it’s easy to keep clean. I would have preferred a knob because with a knob you can instantly set it to the temperature you want instead of using this frustrating touch panel interface.

The oven has other great features like pull-outs on bearings for easy sliding, a hidden bottom heating element and a nice oven light, but the frustrating temp control makes it all worthless. How in the world did this get past their user testing (if they did any.

) Now I’m stuck with this oven for the next 10 years. Ugg.

First wall oven ordered April 28 (white). Order delayed until September 27 – which at this point I would be 6 months with no oven. Cancelled order. Reordered stainless steel model. Delivered July 13.

Fan/motor made so much noise it was not acceptable. Replacement oven installed July 26. The fan is noisy/low rumble, but it is at an acceptable level. On a scale from 1-10 it’s about a 5. If I had to do over, would probably pick a different manufacturer.

Had previous two other Whirlpools in the last 20 years and never made as much noise as this one. However, Total Tech Support were very helpful.

I purchased this oven 4 months ago and only used it 5 times. It broke twice when I used the broil function. The company sold me a faulty unit and refuses to replace it. They take around an hour or more to pick up the phone.

They outsource repair to a company that takes about a month every time to fix the problem. The technicians come in with missing parts. The fuses of his oven blow off if you heat it up more than 400 degrees.

And the cooling fan is broken. Whirlpool is a dishonest company that sells broken products to customers under the cover of “repair warranty”. Again, do not buy. I’ve been without an oven waiting for a month….

The fact that you cannot call the store directly is the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard of. We had a wall oven on order and it kept getting pushed back. Finally called one day and the operator said it was at the store.

We drove the 1 1/2 hours to pick it up only to find out that it was not at the store. The first person we spoke to while there said it was still another 2 months out. We had been without an oven for 3 months already so we ended up just buying on of the in stock ovens since we were already there.

The only reason my rating isn’t less is that we finally met a manager there that seemed to care and actually helped to make amends.

I hate this oven. It came with the house. I have spent days trying to calibrate the oven. It is inaccurate by as much as 25 degrees. What makes this difficult is that the amount of inaccuracy depends upon the baking etc.

temperature and mode. I’ve set the oven to bake about 18 degrees above the temperature setting. So at some temps and modes this gives me a more accurate temperature. However in convection bake, the oven is still off by around 10 degrees.

I absolutely hate this oven and miss the Wolf range oven in my previous home.

I bought a Bosch oven primarily on the claims for baking. The side-open door is a nice benefit. But so far, it’s a bust on the baking front. Steam pours out when I open the door, and cakes and cookies are not cooking all the way through.

Two years back, I changed my entire kitchen appliances to BOSCH. BIG MISTAKE!!! The microwave was a nightmare. After spending $2 K in repairs and purchasing another one in frustration, BOSCH replaced it, but with a lot of angst.

Now, my oven doesn’t maintain the temperature. If I ask to bake at 350, it continues to preheat after I enter the oven timer. I have used the oven for two years, so it is not that I am doing something wrong.

It is just an annoyance. My previous brand of appliances worked great. After 10 years, I needed a change of scenery. Not a single appliance broke. I made a mistake going with BOSCH.

We’ve had this oven for 3 years. The fan is extremely loud, temperature and timer are cumbersome to set, one of the digits on the display faded to barely visible within the first 2 years, but we’ve just lived with it.

Also, we recently had a power outage, and have an automatic generator that kicked in. The oven was not on when we had the outage. The next day we noticed the time was off by about 5 minutes despite having reset it.

The day after that, we went to turn on the oven and neither top nor bottom oven would heat. Needless to say we were beside ourselves that our 3 year old oven wasn’t working. We then decided to turn the electric breaker for the oven off and then on again.

Fortunately, that seems to have fixed the issue. Fingers crossed. But since the oven was not on at the time of the outage, it should not have caused any problem with the oven. We had a different brand oven in our last home and decided to try Bosch in this house due to their reputation.

The other brand was very easy use and we did not have any issues after power outages.

Serviceman was great. Family really happy with the convection & microwave dual function. Increases the versatility of the unit.

This model is a complete deception. We bought it four months ago in August 2021. It doesn’t bake properly. An oven should be able to braise (https://en. wikipedia. org/wiki/Braising) dishes. This one doesn’t cook evenly so the flavors don’t mix, some parts are cooked and others not.

In fact, it cooks like a microwave. But it doesn’t qualify as an oven. It’s very frustrating to prepare sophisticated dishes only to have them ruined by the oven and have to salvage them on the cook top.

Update December 2021 The repairman from Whirlpool spent a few hours testing the oven and found it was not calibrated. The display showed 350F but it measured around 358F on the tester (Omega HH12B). The excuse for this is that the display temperature depends on the preference of the user as if you wanted to change 350F to mean something else.

To change this, press Settings and the Start arrow until you reach Calibration. So he entered -5 to get the temperature to 353F. Also, the temperature cycles between 332 and 410 after starting. So you have to wait about 15 minutes after the oven reaches its prescribed temperature.

Then it cycles from 332 to 374 approximately, for an average of 353. You can check the temperature by pressing on the Stop button (X) twice to get in diagnostic mode and then Start button. The elements, top and bottom, function alternately so that may be the reason it doesn’t cook evenly.

And by the way, there’s no manual, that’s because of the Covid, of course.

Bought this Oven before Christmas 2021. It is sized with double racks to accommodate several dishes. Heats well with the rapid preheat feature. Controls are easy to understand and simple to operate. The materials used are real stainless steel.

(verified with my magnets). Operation and heating of the food is even with no burning on any edges. Lighting inside is adequate. Not having a burner on the bottom is a great plus. There is a fan that operates drawing cooler air up and around the top of the oven and then back down to the front.

The oven does warm up the kitchen during operation as the vent system comes out at the bottom front into the space. Installation was easy, but being less taller by 3. 75″ than my previous model, I had to use the adjustable legs and raise the unit higher in the cabinet to make a nicer fit at the top.

It is very quiet. I have other Whirlpool products in the house and am very happy with this Unit. It was priced right and at the time I was able to make the purchase. Thanks Home Depot.

It worked perfectly for a few months until it was serviced by a Whirlpool technician. Since then the temperature has been WILDLY inaccurate. Mind you, we’ve been using it for less than a year. We have to use an oven thermometer at all times to get to the right temperature.

After another service appointment to address the issue, the technician told us it was properly calibrated and that nothing was wrong, as the warranty states that a 10% percent inaccuracy is within the expected range.

Since then, we’ve seen temperature differences well outside of the 10% range. We needed the oven at 425°F and had to set it to 500°F (the maximum oven temp) to achieve that result! I’m not sure how that’s acceptable to them, but it certainly isn’t for us.

Other than that it works fine, so I’ll give it three stars, but the temperature inaccuracy is very difficult.

It looks great, bought to match the existing hob. Also cooks everything evenly, doesn’t take too long to heat up, about 12 minutes, and you can clearly see inside when it’s on. Nice chrome dials, no cheap plastic.

On the downside, it only came with one shelf and the grill pan, there is no timer function, and the instruction booklet doesn’t tell you what the cooking symbols mean. Easily remedied by buying some more shelves, easy to find online, using Alexa as the timer function, and googling what Smeg symbols mean.

It is very good value and overall I’m really happy with it.

Delivery was excellent. Installation was easy. The traditional oven cooks well with even heat ditribution. Microwave function is rather uneven and requres a number of key presses to get 1 minute at full power.

A shortcut would be more convenient. The fan, when the oven is operating, gives a strong cool blast of air, exactly where we sit to eat. The oven was advertised as coming with a 5 year warranty. When trying to register with Smeg, they said it didn’t qualify.

I am still trying to resolve this.

Pros: This is a truly lovely oven which has inspired me to bake once again. It’s easy to use – once you get the hang of it and it definitely out performs my previous oven by a different manufacturer.

It looks great too. Cons: The instruction book is a bit basic. A little more detail in the selection of different timer functions & cooking operations would be helpful but this is not an insurmountable problem as long as you are prepared to experiment a bit initially.

I wanted a combo unit with microwave and oven but at the time of my remodel, there weren’t very many choices. This one looked nice and had some newly added features (air frier) but I should have explored further, I would go with another unit.

First and foremost, I had my cabinets re-worked to fit the specs that were provided for this specific unit. They were off and therefore I now have to deal with a gap or buy a trim kit that is like $200.

That’s on top of the unit, on top of having to pay to rework my cabinets and having to have an electrician because I needed a different voltage. Also, the top control panel isn’t connected like previous models and “falls forward”.

I don’t think I’m explaining that well but that’s what the installer told me. I had the first unit delivered/installed replaced with another and the second one is better. The installer told me he installs many of these all around the area and about 3 out of 10 have this issue.

In summary, this unit is average at best. I can’t really speak to much of the controls just yet because I’m just getting moved in after months of remodeling so only the microwave has been used a handful of times.

We purchased a home with Kitchen Aid double ovens in it. We were excited for we were aware of the outstanding reputation that Kitchen Aid held in the appliance department. Now that we have used it we are extremely disappointed as it does not heat properly.

I have placed an oven thermometer in both units to calculate the heating process We will pre-heat to 400 degrees. The units will denote that the temperature has reached 400 degrees when in actuality it will only be 330 degrees.

It will then take considerable more time to reach 400, then it drops again, unable to maintain an even temperature. It goes to 415 degrees and then to 380 degrees. We are extremely disappointed in your product as we have ruined many meals due to the uneven heating of the ovens.

This being said, we are in a dilemma that needs attention. The ovens do not work properly and we are unable to use them.

Features, performance and design are all outstanding. I really like the broiler function in the upper and lower oven as well as the self cleaning features in both ovens. Construction is solid, heating and cooling are efficient and with the digital read-out it even lets you know what temperature the oven is at even while warming up.

This is an update to my previous post from 05/24. After many, many weeks of persistent follow up with both KA and Whirlpool customer service, it was decided that we had a defective product. KA upheld the 1yr warranty and replaced the entire unit.

Since then, I use my unit almost daily and absolutely love it. It warms to temp quickly, maintains constant temp for long periods, and assists with wonderful baked results. There is very little noise during use: warm up or cool down, and the blue interior remains unblemished.

So happy with this unit!.

Extremely sturdy oven. Excellent as a base for flexibility in designing the hot line. Only complaint is hard to open– requires strong people to yank door open. The plastic around the metal door handle is a bit rough, needed to file it down a little to prevent cutting the hands.

I wish I could give you some details as I purchased for our Albuquerque store and from what I have heard is they are super happy. I will let you know more once they have really had some time to work with it.

Purchased a year ago and still cooking perfectly. The consistency and evenness of the cooking are great, I recommend it.

I purchased this oven approximately 1 month ago. So far, I’m extremely pleased with its performance. Pros: 1) 3 cooking racks, 1 of the 3 is a sliding rack. The racks are adjustable and can be moved up and down as needed.

2) sleek design with many features: a) Convection oven option (bake, broil, roast) b) Bake, broil, and proof option c) Delay cooking option (start and stop time setting) 3) Self-cleaning 4) Wide and spacious interior 5) Meat thermometer probe 6) Interior light that is bright and allows one to view the contents in the oven without having to open the oven door.

Cons: 1) Does not have a “Keep Warm” option. It would have been nice if this feature would have been included as part of the product design. Hopefully, in the future, newer models will incorporate this option.

A workaround in regards to this issue is once the food has finished cooking, one can set the oven temperature at a lower temperature setting and it will keep the food warm. Ovens that have the “Keep Warm” option usually keep the food warm at a setting of approximately 150 degrees F, at least that’s what my previous oven’s “Keep Warm” setting did.

All in all, I’m pleased with my purchase and feel that compared to other wall ovens out there, this is a winner.

I installed this unit but my wife uses it. I would have rated it a 1 but she likes the functionality so our posted rating is a compromise. Since I’m writing this review, here are my issues. We’re coming from a 1990 oven built like a tank, but the build quality of this Kitchenaid is utterly atrocious.

Unfortunately I suspect that this is symptomatic of all new appliances these days. First, when unpacking, there was a loose sheet metal screw rolling around the box. Hmm, couldn’t find anything obvious missing on the oven, so let’s move on.

Went to hook up the power supply and found the tags on the cable contradicted the manual (and the existing wiring). Do you think I could get KA to admit the label was wrong. Nope. The first person said it wasn’t their problem and to call an installer.

What? The “supervisor” then said the manual was correct but would NOT say that the label was wrong. Once the oven was in place, I noticed the door didn’t line up with top console, by like 1/4 inch; that’s not insignificant.

Then I noticed the door isn’t flat; it’s curved. Then found a rubber bumper missing from the where the door lands at the top. Then while installing the vent cover on the bottom I found the edge of the metal to just be cut rather than folded over, and as a result is razor sharp.

A child could be very seriously cut just brushing by. After firing it up for the first time (after we had to vacate the house due to burn-in stench), the cooling fan made a loud whistling noise. And inspecting the oven racks, two had the bars bent and welded on in weird positions.

So all in all, I would say KitchenAid/Whirlpool need to step their engineering and quality big time. But I doubt that’ll happen. Demand for appliances is just too strong right now, so they’ll just keep pushing them out the door.

We bought this oven to replace a 27 year old Jenn-Air Convection oven. Basically, a feature for feature update. Unlike the previous version this oven produces two very annoying sounds. The first is whirring sound from the fan during baking time.

It is loud enough you can here it 30′ away. It is a constant sound that occurs not just during the baking time but during the hour long cool down as well. The second sound is more of motor/movement operation very similar to the sound our garage door makes when heard from the great room.

The sound is loud enough that I can hear it downstairs in my office which is some 60′ away from the oven. We had service out to look at the oven and even replace the parts even though this was “normal”.

While it cooks well and looks great, the new features are annoying. The oven engineers need to compare notes with the dishwashers engineers. The later being so quiet your not sure its on. A vast improvement over the previous model, where as the oven is a vast regression over the prior model.

When we move we will not be replacing the oven with this particular model.

After using this oven for about 9 months, I have no problems to report. It works well and has a sleek, modern look. The standard oven mode is ideal; everything we have cooked has come out perfectly done.

We have tried the convection mode a few times and, so far, we are not sold on it and prefer the conventional mode. The oven racks are good; we really like the ones on bearings which easily retract. The lighting inside the oven is exceptionally bright, with very good visibility.

The only complaints we have are minor ones, but are listed here: • The oven lamps get exceptionally hot, and quickly. With the oven cool and the door open, a plastic item leaning against one of the lamps began to melt after only a few minutes.

• The controls for our previous double wall oven were placed vertically—with the controls for the top oven located above the controls for the bottom oven. The controls for this one are placed side-by-side instead, which is much less intuitive.

We must exercise extra care when setting the oven to make sure we select the correct one. We mistakenly set the temperature for the wrong oven one time and did not realize it until after the preheat beep happened and we opened the oven expecting it to be hot and it wasn’t.

• The oven cooldown logic is wonky. The fan gets louder if you open the door (to aid cooldown) and gets quiet again if you close the door. If you don’t close the door, the loud cooldown fan will never stop even after the oven is cold.

• When the timer expires, if you don’t acknowledge it, it will beep every 10 seconds or so. I would prefer it to be more like every 30-60 seconds. The 10-second beep gets very irritating when you are not able to get to the oven immediately.

I had a Viking oven for 15 years that unfortunately had to be replaced. Decided I didn’t need a Viking again and it was suggested I get the kitchen aid. I’ve had problems since the day I got it. None of my food cooked the same way.

The oven temperature never felt hot and I had them come and recalibrate it after having placed my own thermometers in the oven and saw that it always ran at least 50 degrees less than it was set for.

Oven fan stayed on for hours upon hours after using the oven. Ok that was the easy part of my experience with this oven. One day the lights in the oven would not turn off even though we didn’t turn them on.

And then the ovens stopped heating up. Waiting two weeks for an authorized kitchen aid repair person to come and say that he doesn’t know what’s wrong but possibly the oven isn’t heating up because the oven thinks the doors are open.

Was told that the whole control board of a five month old oven would need to be replaced. Called the company to inquire about the part as it is COVID and there are shortages. Got no response. But was told they would come back in two weeks to do the repair.

I asked what happens when the part doesn’t come in. No response. Called kitchen aid directly and was told that what they do when there is no ETA for the part is to take it straight off the new oven factory line.

Well as you can imagine, the part never came and I see on kitchen aid website that the oven is out of stock so I’m not sure which kitchen aid factory line they were possibly taking it from. Kept calling the appliance company that purchased it for me and they kept saying we are waiting for a response from kitchen aid to get the oven replaced or a credit for the oven.

They said that kitchen aid has almost a month to respond. At that point it would be close to theee months without an oven Finally had my husband call and thanks to his persistence and no thanks to kitchen aid or the appliance company that I purchased it from they are allegedly picking up the oven and reimbursing me.

Now I have no idea how I am getting w new oven during the times we are currently living in. And need to figure out how to get reimbursed for the extended warranty that I purchased for an oven I will no longer have.

I have no confidence in kitchen aid nor would I purchase a kitchen aid product again.

I had this oven installed last week. What a nightmare! I called Whirlpool/KitchenAid to double check what cut out dimension my new oven would need compared to the KitchenAid model it was replacing. The expert that I finally was put in touch with Told me I would only need a half inch more in height and that the width was the same as my old oven.

So I hired someone to cut out the half inch and paid them $150 Which I felt was fair to make a trip out and do the work. I did this because the people at Best Buy told me that the installers would not do any cutting but would only install the oven and if it wasn’t ready to go they would just leave the oven and I would have to reschedule the installation.

Well when the installers from Best Buy Came they measured and told me I needed another quarter inch in the width. I explain to them that I had checked with the factory and on all the specifications that came with the oven it specified 30 inches and not 30 1/4 which he claimed he had to do.

He was actually right and said he had to charge me $65 to do the cut to make it wider which took him about five minutes. I didn’t need the extra height which the factory rep told me but I needed an extra quarter inch on the width so I had to pay $150 for something I didn’t need and Best Buy doesn’t even know what their installers are capable or willing to do.

Very frustrated that a major appliance manufacturer doesn’t know the actual cut out dimensions for their products. On the bright side so far we love the oven.

I had wanted to replace my double wall oven for many years but just couldn’t find one that I preferred. Love my new LG and the features it has for both top and bottom ovens. Many times you only have multiple options for one unit and not both.

I love how they went with the blue interior as it gives the unit a little extra. Loving the convection side of it as it cooks more quickly and more evenly. I have used about every option and roasting I would have to say is my absolutely favorite.

From chicken, steaks and hams they all came out cooked perfectly and juicy. Might I add with less time than a conventional oven. The black stainless steel is beautiful but it is a lot lighter than other black stainless that I have in my kitchen.

My only complaint would be just because it says it is a ThinQ doesn’t mean that it operates like one. It wasn’t until after install did we realize that it did not connect to wifi even though it is a ThinQ line.

That was pretty disappointing as that was one of the options I was wanting. Overall this unit is beautiful, easy to use and cooks like a boss !.

I purchased my LG appliances in 2021 and took out a five year warranty. Unfortunately, I was not given a choice of getting a LG extended warranty. One year and one month after my purchase my top oven stopped working.

I called the store I purchased from and they told me I needed to call the insurance warranty company that I purchased. I had three different service appointments with A&E (Sears). These men did not know what they were doing.

They could not fix the oven. After four months of a non working top oven, I called an independent company who fixed my oven. They told me that the fault was in the design of the double oven. When both ovens are on, the heat builds up and disables one of the ovens and therefore you should only use one oven at a time OR drill holes in the cabinet above the top oven for the heat to escape.

The oven looks great and has a number of functions and features that we wanted. The surfaces are easy to keep clean. The heat is well contained and does not radiate throughout our kitchen like the old oven we had.

One of the halogen lights burned out three days after the oven was installed. The LG Parts group still has not added the spare to their inventory and would not cross reference it. The manual does not indicate the correct replacement part.

That is the only small glitch so far in our customer experience and the company certainly has an improvement opportunity, but overall we are glad to have our new oven. We definitely would recommend it to a friend or neighbor.
